The alarm goes off in the middle of the night. You shoot up, your body on high alert, your heart beating rapidly, before your mind is even fully awake.
Probably just a false one, you try telling yourself as you make your way to the office. You’ve never had a false alarm, but– one can hope, right?
The place is plunged into darkness, no windows for any moonlight to seep through. You turn on the camera feed, squinting at the grainy screen. There’s movement in the living room, two people, from what you can make out. Not infected, judging from the way they’re moving, but one of them seems to be injured. Please don’t be raiders. There isn’t much to loot in the house, but the anxiety is already settling in your chest, threatening to crawl up your throat.
You turn on the sound and a panicked girl’s voice rings through the room as if you were standing right next to her.
“Fuck, Joel, wake up. Joel, please–”
It’s eerily similar to words that you’ve said once, the memory still fresh, even now. You wonder if your voice was as thick with tears then as that girl’s is right now.
Not again. Not in this house, not while you’re watching, unable to do anything. Not again.
You still hear it, the echo in your mind clear as ever. Keep them safe. Promise me. The promise you failed to keep.
Unblinking, you stare at the screen, your mind running a mile a minute. This could be a trap. They could have been watching, could have somehow figured you out. Or, the tiny voice in the back of your head insists, or they really need help.
The girl is pleading for the man to hold on, to not fall asleep. The desperation in her tone is tearing at you, urging you into action. Fuck it, you have to do something.
You grab your gun from the wall and slowly make your way up the stairs, ignoring the anxious trembling in your hands. Maybe this is how you die.
Leaning your back against the wall, you take a deep breath, a fruitless attempt to calm yourself, and switch on the lamp outside. You can’t hear them anymore, but knowing that the living room is now bathed in light, you’re certain that they’re on high alert now. Shit shit shit. You steel yourself, undo the complicated lock and push the heavy door open.
Please don’t let it be a trap.
They’re both staring at you, a young girl standing in front of a man, lying on the ground, taking panting breaths. She’s pointing a gun straight at you, as if she’s trying to shield his larger body with hers. The weapon looks much too big in her hands.
The memory of a similar image tugs at the back of your mind, but you shove it away. Stay in the present, stay right here.
You clear your throat, raising your hands slightly. You don’t remember the last time you spoke to another living person. Your voice cracks.
“I– I don’t mean you any harm. I live here, I saw you on– on the cameras.”
The girl furrows her brow, her eyes flitting across the room.
“They’re hidden, you won’t– Listen, I just want to help, I promise.”
The sound of your voice wavers, almost unfamiliar to your own ears. The girl lowers her gun a fraction, but the distrust is written all over her face. You can’t blame her. You clear your throat again, willing your hands to stop shaking.
“Your dad, is he– has he been bitten?” Please say no, please say no, please say no.
She shakes her head quickly. An expression that you can’t place flies over her features. Thank god.
“He’s not my– no. He got– he got stabbed.”
You can tell that she tries to sound strong, brave, but you recognize the panic in her eyes. You see it often enough when you look into the mirror.
You take another steadying breath. You can do this.
“Okay. I can help with that, if– if you want. I have medicine, bandages…”
Hope flashes over her face, mixed with the obvious conflict of not trusting you.
“You can come downstairs, it’s safer there. I– I should turn the lights back off.”
You’re painfully aware of how bright the house must shine through the darkness, from how far away it’s probably visible right now. Your nerves are fluttering anxiously.
“I don’t mean to hurt you, I swear. Just– let me help you.”
She swallows, hard, and fixes you with a stare.
“It’s just you down there?”
You nod in silent confirmation, not trusting your voice on this. It’s the first time you’ve ever had to admit it to anyone but yourself.
The girl sighs, her head turning between you and the man behind her a few times, surely seeking guidance from him, but his eyes are halfway shut, his lips trembling. Your gaze falls on the dark red stain on his shirt.
Don’t look, don’t think- Just focus on this, right now, right here.
You tell her your name, promise again that it’s safe. Finally, she nods timidly.
“Okay.”
“Okay.” You nod back at her, give her a small smile that she doesn’t return. “I’ll come closer now, we’ll carry him, alright?”
The girl looks at the man again. Her body tenses when you near them, but together you manage to get him back on his feet and half walk, half carry him. You push the door open wider and heave him down the stairs.
In the back of your mind, you take note of the sound of multiple feet walking down the steps, and how long it’s been since… No. Stay in the present.
You prop him up on the couch, where the girl keeps hovering by his side while you rush up again to close and lock the door and turn off the lights. Next, you throw open the bathroom cabinet, gathering all the material that you might need.
You return and crouch down beside him, lying your things out on the table, and take a closer look, your fingers halting over him. He’s watching you through lidded eyes, a sheen of sweat on his pale face.
“What’s his name?” you ask, looking up at the girl.
“Joel,” she answers reluctantly. “I’m Ellie.”
“Hi, Ellie.” You hope your smile looks sincere, not betraying how nervous you are right now. How shaky the sight of his blood-soaked shirt makes you feel.
“Okay, Joel?” you address him directly. He only manages a tired hum in return. “I’m gonna clean this and try stitching you up. It’s gonna hurt, I have painkillers, if you–”
But he shakes his head, humming again.
“Alright,” you sigh, and get to work.
You explain what you’re doing with every step, to calm both their and your own nerves. You know how to do this, you’ve trained for this. The wound doesn’t look too deep and you pray that there’s no organ damage involved, because you don’t have the means to treat that properly, but it doesn’t look like it. There seems to be an infection spreading though, so you gather some antibiotics as well, hoping that they’ll still work the way they’re supposed to. Joel inhales sharply a few times, but seems to be out of it for most of the time, which you’re grateful for.
“How did this happen?” you ask, looking up at Ellie who’s still standing beside you, watching intently over what you’re doing.
“Raiders,” she mutters. “It was a broken baseball bat, I think.”
“Jesus,” you sigh. You wonder how they got out, your thoughts circling back to the gun in her hands, and you suppress a shudder. “Are you injured too?” you ask, deciding not to press her about the attack.
“No,” comes her quiet answer. You don’t catch the way she averts her eyes.
“Alright,” mumble eventually and straighten up. You’ve cleaned and bandaged the wound to the best of your ability and now you just have to hope that it will be enough.
“Do you want something to eat?” you ask the girl, who has taken to sit beside the couch on the ground, now that you’ve moved away from it. Her face lights up at the question and she nods eagerly.
You get two bowls of the soup that you’ve had for dinner for the both of you and she has already had a few spoonfuls before she eyes you warily.
“It’s not poisoned or something, is it?”
You huff a laugh and keep eating yours, holding her gaze with raised eyebrows. “Does it look like it?”
“Um, no…” she trails off, swallowing another spoonful and sighing at the taste. You wonder how long it’s been since they ate something. “You could have poisoned only mine though.”
“Well I didn’t,” you grin. It feels foreign, talking to another person, another child, but a warmth is slowly spreading through you that has nothing to do with the soup.
She wakes Joel and gets him to swallow a little soup as well as some water before he collapses back on the couch, his eyes closed and his breath evening out.
“Why do you… have all this?” she asks eventually, setting her bowl down on the table and looking around the room, the wood-covered walls and the multiple doors.
“My dad built it,” you reply, forcing your voice to stay neutral. “B–before.”
She hums in acknowledgement, her eyes still full of wonder.
“You’re welcome to stay,” you hear yourself say, “until he gets better, I mean.”
You don’t know if you’re being reckless, if this will be the thing that finally gets you killed, but it seems too elaborate to be a trap. And maybe, just maybe you like the idea of not being alone down here, even just for a short while, a little too much. She thanks you, her expression just as weary as you feel.
You offer that she can wash up if she wants, use the shower, that you could give her some clothes of yours. You’re still not sure if you’re doing the right thing, or if you’re just being incredibly stupid, but the sight of her worn down shirt and the way her hair is matted down with dirt makes your heart swell with the wish to care for her.
Her eyes flicker nervously between Joel and the bathroom door a few times, but eventually she agrees. While the shower runs, you settle down on the armchair across from the couch, sinking into the cushions, your knees pulled up to your chin, your eyes resting on the sleeping man. He’s huge, taking up the whole length of it, his feet dangling over the armrest, overwhelming even in his unconscious state.
You really hope that they’re good people. He could overpower you easily, there’s no doubt of that. You might not be a terrible fighter, but you don’t think that you’d be a match for him.
Your gaze lingers on his face, the strong shape of his nose, the pout of his lower lip, his brow furrowed even in his sleep. His fingers are twitching, one wrist adorned with a broken watch.
Ellie exits the bathroom again, clad in your old clothes, her damp hair dripping into the neckline of the t-shirt, like a younger version of you. It makes your heart ache.
Now that the adrenaline is rushing from your body, you realize how weird all this really is. You haven’t spoken to anybody in years and now there’s two people here, in your space. Maybe you’ve finally lost it for good.
You show her to the biggest of the four bedrooms, the only one that no one has ever slept in. It’s easier, opening this door, than the two other ones that you keep shut. You debate moving Joel from the couch to the bed, Ellie mumbling about his back, but ultimately you decide against it.
“Okay,” you hesitate, leaning against the doorframe. “I’m in the room right next to you, if you need anything… Just– please don’t murder me in my sleep, okay?”
She mirrors your wry smile. “I won’t if you won’t.”
You nod and leave the room, praying that you’re making the right call here. You’re doing something good, right? And no one would plan an ambush like this. Would they?
You heave a sigh and retreat to your own bedroom, your gun clutched tightly in your grasp. You doubt that it would save you, not against that man who’s currently softly snoring on your couch. Still, it makes you feel a little better. You turn the lock on your door too, just in case.
When you sink back under the covers, eyes still wide open and staring into the darkness, a small smile creeps onto your lips despite your worries.
It’s not the way it was, it will never be that way again. But not being the only soul down here fills you with the ghost of a warmth that you had thought you’d never feel again.

It’s been almost three weeks since you’ve returned,  20 days to be exact, Wooyoung counted. 20 days and he’s still not over his crush on you. Was it even a crush anymore at this point?
“Hey focus.” Yeosang’s voice snapped him out of his many spirals over you.
The former Prince’s gloved fist came close to his face and Wooyoung quickly raised both his arms to block the jab.
“I’m focused.”
“No, you’re not.” Yeosang jabbed him on his side that his friend failed to evade which just led to one blow to another and before he knew it Wooyoung was on the floor again for the third time since their sparring session started.
“You’re probably thinking too much.” Your voice echoed in the gym as you approached them on the black padded boxing ring. “That’s why your movements are slow.”
You gave the two handsome men a quick look over. Their skin glistened with perspiration and they both had their boxing gloves on. Wooyoung sported a loose tank top which showed off his toned arms while Yeosang wore a compression shirt that only accentuated his statuesque physique. His muscles were getting bigger…and among the members Yeosang and San were the ones who built and grew muscle quickly due to genetics, and god, you loved those genetics.
“Good morning, darling.” Yeosang hummed with that princely smile of his and you couldn’t help the warmth that bloomed in your cheeks at his term of endearment for you.
“Morning, Yeosang. Wooyoung.” You nodded in the other man’s direction whose chest was rising and falling fast as he caught his breath.
“Why don’t you give him a few pointers?” Yeosang wiped the sweat on his brow with his arm before heading towards where you were at the edge of the sparring ring.
You weren’t busy.
Wooyoung watched as you ducked beneath the foamed barriers, your eyes briefly meeting his as you passed Yeosang who leaned over to whisper something. You stared at Wooyoung as Yeosang’s deep smooth voice vibrated in your ears.
“Go easy on him, dear.”
You smirked a little at that before slipping off your trainers and sauntering towards Wooyoung with a false aura of ease to make sure his defenses were low.
“No gloves?” Wooyoung raised a brow as he stood up, not backing down on the challenge. He knew he should be more alert with you, especially with San said about your hand-to-hand combat mastery.
“Don’t need them.” You shrugged, stretching and swinging your arms and body to get your body a little warm.
Yeosang sat on the exercise bench in the gym that looked over the ring, curious to how this interaction would turn out.
“Don’t go easy on me.” You told him with a smile that he couldn’t read, it was alluring and sweet despite the fact you two were going to be throwing hands at each other.
“And don’t go easy on me.” He huffed, raising his gloved hands to shield his face and getting into stance whilst trying to ignore how pretty you looked in a simple tee and gym shorts with these cute strings on each side that scrunched them up in a pretty and sexy way. “I’m sure I can handle it.”
You only nodded and pulled the hem of your slim-fit tee down.
“Oh, you guys are sparring.” The sweet gentle voice of the vice-captain reached everyone’s ears and you glanced at the gym entrance to see the ethereally handsome man enter in a black tank top and matching sweats. “Morning, Y/N.” He smiled your way.
Wooyoung took this as a chance to attack but he really didn’t want to hit you in any way. His intention was to just jab lightly at your shoulder while you’re distracted.
With quick precision, as he learned from San, he swung your way, sure that he was gonna get a lick in. If you were supposed to be a master combatant, shouldn’t you know not to take your eyes off your opponent? He thought to himself as he focused.
In less than a second, you broke away from Seonghwa’s gaze and stopped Wooyoung’s advance by grabbing the gloved hand that came your way and twisted it to the side, redirecting it. Wooyoung couldn’t process what happened next as you held onto the hand you caught and your legs hooked around his neck, next thing he knew his world spun as he was propelled onto his back.
The loud smack of his back against the ring floor bounced off the walls so satisfyingly as he let out a grunt at the sudden impact. He couldn’t even move. Your legs had him in a headlock, his chin was nuzzled into the back of your slightly bent knee and your ankles were crossed over each other while your upper body and hands trapped his right arm in an arm lock.
You kept him there for a bit, letting him struggle against your hold before releasing him and all the oxygen he needed rushed into his lungs.
Wooyoung was in shock. It had happened so fast. Then it sunk in that your legs had locked his head in, your soft skin, and your pillowy thighs. Had he passed out in your chokehold, it would’ve been a good way to go.
“That’s our girl.” Seonghwa smiled proudly, he and Yeosang applauding your quick response to Wooyoung’s attempt at an attack.
You were up on your feet as if nothing just happened, and you glanced down at Wooyoung, rather enjoying the breathless look on his handsome face. He questioned how he was kind of turned on at how easily you countered him and how gorgeous you looked staring down at him. God, what was wrong with him?
You held your hand out.
Taking a deep breath, he grabbed onto it letting you help him up.
“You need to train with Sannie more.” You chuckled once he was balanced on his two feet. “There were at least three ways you could’ve countered my attack.”
“Don’t be too hard on yourself, Woo,” Seonghwa reassured him, heading towards the weights rack. “It took a while for Yeosang and I to be able to learn one of those counterattacks.”
You gave Wooyoung a reassuring caress on his arm, the gentle touch contrasting with how easily you threw him to the ground before you stepped out of the ring.
Wooyoung needed to improve a lot before he could spar with you.
“What will you be doing today?” Yeosang asked as he hung his towel over the chair, heading back to the ring.
“Will lift some weights. It’s a lower body day.”
“If you need help stretching out later, I’ll be glad to help.”
Wooyoung couldn’t really hear the conversation from where he was but Seonghwa could, and the Vice Captain scoffed at Yeosang’s response. To anyone else, it sounded like a normal gym conversation, and also, whatever the former Prince said always sounded innocent. But you and most of the members knew better.
“Unless she wants to do cardio with me,” Seonghwa suggested, setting up the weights on the barbell.
“Both of you calm down and focus on your workouts.” You shook your head, smiling to yourself at their antics.
“Focus? With you in those shorts?” Yeosang chuckled. “If San was here, he’d offer to spot you. Anyways, when you’re done, you know where to find me.” He headed back to Wooyoung who had begun frowning while he watched the three of you, not liking that he was left out of the conversation.
“Were you guys dissing me?” He asked when Yeosang stood in front of him again.
“Woo, just because you’re not included in the conversation it doesn’t mean that it's about you.”
Wooyoung gasped dramatically. “You mean to say you’re all not obsessed with me?” His voice dripped with sarcasm.
“Keep your guard up, Woo. We need to train you to be good enough to counter some of Y/N’s attacks.”
“Only some?”
“The only two people in this crew who can go head to head with Y/N and actually make her break a sweat is San and Hongjoong.” Yeosang readjusted his gloves before raising his fists to shield his face. “Now that you’ve experienced her skill firsthand, focus.”
...
Wooyoung to put it bluntly was stressed. Frustrated too. He didn’t think he was that bad at hand-to-hand combat. He was humbled greatly by you and he was annoyed because today, it’s like he hasn’t improved at all. He kept getting caught off guard by Yeosang, surprised that he was this good at unarmed combat and even more deadly with his archery skills.
He needed San to give him more pointers and make their sessions more frequent if he was going to improve before they arrived at their next destination.
He let out a deep heavy sigh as he trudged back to the crew's deck to get his towel and fresh set of clothes in his room before he headed to the showers. Maybe he’ll give himself an ice bath.  After his and Yeosang’s session, he stayed back to spend time venting out his anger on the punching bag, and now his muscles kind of ached.
Towel draped over one shoulder and his clothes tucked under his arm, he headed towards the showers.
You wrapped your towel tight around your body, swearing to yourself for forgetting your clothes back in your room and as carefully as you could walked barefoot on the shower room tiles.
“Ah!” You squeaked, feeling the ball of your foot slide against the tile and lose balance. Some kind of assassin you were. Even your clumsiness was a mystery to you.
But you didn’t feel the hard cold and wet floor of the showers, you felt nothing but warmth in a gentle hold.
Wooyoung stared at your face. Your eyes were tightly shut as you awaited the impact of your fall if he hadn’t caught you. He held you close and secure to him, his arms wrapped around your body clad only in a soft fluffy towel. He didn’t know if he was lucky or unlucky to be in this situation. You smelled so nice too. The sweet peach and coconut scent of your body wash filled his senses, and your skin was glistening from still being slightly damp from your shower. Maybe he was lucky.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked, his eyes shifting from your face and the top edge of your towel wrapped around your chest.
“Woo?” You had said his name so softly with surprise that it made his heart skip a beat and butterflies flutter in his stomach. Your eyes blinked open to see the man who saved you from hurting yourself.
“Hi.” His voice was so gentle it took you aback.
“H-hi.” You stuttered out.
You both stared into each other's eyes for a while before you cleared your throat, feeling the cold air kiss your skin and make you shiver, making you all too aware of how only a towel separated the two of you.
“It’s cold. I forgot my clothes in my room.” You looked away.
It sunk in with Wooyoung that if the towel peeled off of you, he’d see everything. God, he’d see your pretty body before him and just knew it’d be better than he has ever imagined during his late nights plagued with your visage and the sounds you made when Mingi fucked you, and that first night he saw you on your knees between the gunner's thighs, head bobbing up and down his cock.
“Oh, sorry.” He gently helped you to your feet, making sure you were well-balanced before reluctantly letting you go. He had to control himself. You were Mingi’s. “Be careful, okay? Don’t want you to hurt that pretty self of yours.”
That made you smile. “Thanks, Woo.” You stood on your tippy toes and pressed your lips quickly on his cheek to show him how thankful you were before taking small steps to go to your room.
Wooyoung watched you leave. The touch of your lips on his cheek lingered. Were you that friendly with all of them? He has noticed some very odd…well not odd, unorthodox? Interactions between you and the other crew members. All eight of you seemed so closed knit and when those interactions happened, Mingi didn’t blink an eye or care.
Like how he had walked in on you once in Hongjoong’s office sat on the Captain’s lap by his desk while you two went over some maps and information or how you and Seonghwa would be in the lounge on some afternoons with your legs splayed across his lap while you both read your books in silence.
Does Mingi share you? He shook his head at the thought finding it absurd as the hot water sprayed down on him as he showered.
That was ridiculous. The two of you were attached to the hip almost all the time and some mornings you left his room and the others he left yours. It wasn’t making sense.
He just concluded that all of you have gotten really close and comfy over the time you all had been together as a crew. Being stuck on a ship most of the time and only ever having each other, it made sense that you all got close. Really close in a way it confused him. It still felt like there was something hidden from him even though it was staring him right in the face.
The sound of the shared shower room door sliding open and closing shook him from his thoughts, and from the shower stall he was in, he glanced at who entered, his eyes quickly catching the bright pink head that sauntered in.
“Oh, hey, Woo.” Mingi greeted, taking the shower stall next to him, the stainless steel dividers separating the two.
Wooyoung didn’t care much back then whenever someone entered the shower room but ever since you returned and he found out you have your toiletries in one of the three stalls, he has been careful. First of all, he didn’t want to invade your privacy and lastly, he didn’t want to shower in the stall next to you and get a raging hard-on at the thought of just a partition between the two of you.
Mingi’s bare shoulders and chest peaked over the top of the partition due to his height and his head was only mere inches away from the shower head. If you had been in the stall next to Wooyoung, he was sure only the top of your head could be seen.
“Hey, man.” Wooyoung greeted your lover back, continuing to shampoo his hair.
“Heard Y/N kicked your ass in less than a second.” He teased, turning the knob of the shower with a squeak.
“Ugh, who told you?” Wooyoung sulked a little.
“Seonghwa.” He snickered. “Wish I was there to see it. It’s sexy when she does that.”
“It’s like everything she does turns you on.” Wooyoung bit back, annoyed with the unprovoked teasing he was receiving.
“Can you blame me?”
Wooyoung couldn’t.
Glancing over at Mingi, he was met with a victorious smirk on the man’s face. He was smug that Wooyoung had no snappy remark at what he had said.
He glared at him before he rolled his eyes and began rinsing his hair a little roughly.
“Ugh, could you guys, at least keep it down? You guys fuck like bunnies, I swear to god. Don’t you know some people, also known as me, need to sleep?”
Mingi raised his brow as he grinned.
“So you could hear us, huh?”
Fuck.
The gunner faced his back to the spray of water and continued to tease his friend. “Do you get hard at the sound of us fucking, Woo? I mean if you do, I can't blame you. She moans so pretty doesn’t she?”
Internally, Wooyoung answered yes to all those questions but he just continued to rinse himself and think of a way to shut the tall man up.
“She tastes really good too.” He was bragging now and happily doing so. You were his baby. His one and only, of course, he wanted to show you off. Plus, knowing that Wooyoung doesn’t know the whole truth about you and the crew, he wanted to kind of enjoy the idea that you were entirely his (not that he didn’t like sharing you with the rest). “You’ve seen how pretty her pussy is, right? It was kinda entertaining, really, how you were so entranced by my baby before you knew that she was mine.”
Wooyoung was too frustrated and now extremely annoyed to reply back. He didn’t even know what to reply. His silence and lack of response probably exposed the truth of his desire for you.
“Tell me, Woo,” Mingi leaned his arms on the top of the partition and Wooyoung made the mistake of meeting the man’s eyes that were possessive yet teasing. “Do you want to fuck my girl?”
Wooyoung clenched his jaw.
The only thing that could be heard in the shower room right now was the collision of the rain of water against the bathroom tiles as they stared each other down.
Yes. He wanted to. He really fucking wanted to.
What the fuck does Mingi even want him to say?
“Don’t you think it’s a bit disrespectful to be offering your girlfriend up like that? Like she’s yours to give and take?” Wooyoung didn’t mean to attack Mingi with such words and it was clear what he said took him aback.
Was he going to get punched right now?
“What if it was an invitation?”
Wooyoung’s head snapped in Mingi’s direction, giving the man the reaction he wanted.
“W-what?”
Mingi let the silence between them sit for a while, knowing that the cogs in Wooyoung’s head were malfunctioning right now before laughing heartily.
“I’m just kidding. Wow. Didn’t think you’d take me so seriously. I know you have a crush on her, that’s okay, man. Everyone else does.”
Wooyoung remained silent, opting to just nod and continue washing up while Mingi’s last three words echoed over and over in his head.
Everyone else does.
It’s like what Yeosang said, “And if you’re a little attracted to her it’s fine. We all are.”
They showered in silence after, Wooyoung finished first, dried himself, and changed into a fresh set of clothes before heading out into the hall, the stupid hall where he could hear you across his room and run into you in the mornings or late nights when you’d get a midnight snack.
Sometimes he would think of that time you fed him that strawberry and how honey-like your voice was when you praised him. Then his imagination would go wild as he thought about what if he had kissed you then and there, and what if he touched you and felt every curve of your beautiful body as your tongues fought for dominance with one another.
He craved the same intimacy you shared with the other members. The same one where a single glance could tell them how you felt, where knowing smiles were exchanged across rooms or the dining table like you were passing secret notes to one another under the table, and the same intimacy you had with Mingi.
Wooyoung sighed as his crush on you only worsened by the day and he hoped that playing the video game Jongho and San asked him to join this afternoon could help him remain distracted from thoughts of you, specifically of how fragile you were in his arms earlier in the showers.
Approaching the lounge, he heard soft giggles and low voices, what could be assumed to be maybe a light-hearted conversation between two people.  He recognized your voice anywhere and without announcing his presence, wanting to act aloof, he walked into the lounge.
The back of the couch faced him and he couldn’t see you and the person you were talking to as he approached.
“What are you doing?” you giggled, feeling gentle hands caress your sides, the other sliding under your top to feel the skin of your stomach with the intention to travel lower.
Wooyoung paused.
Your voice was gentle and void of any seriousness that your line of work in the past had trained you to become. Yeosang had told him yesterday when they were both hanging out on the upper deck that you could only ever feel safe around them. With them, your defenses were down and you could just be…well….you.
It was heartwarming and bittersweet. It's no wonder Mingi was so protective of you and San too...wait-
Was Mingi already with you? Wasn’t he still in the showers?
Wooyoung’s questions were answered by a broad back finally peeking over the back frame of the couch as the two of you playfully wrestled. He blinked for a bit wondering if his eyes were betraying him because he was pretty sure Mingi’s short hair was pink.
“You look so cute” The man sighed with adoration, the only part of you that could be seen as you lay on the couch was your gentle hand on the back of his neck.
“Sannie…”
Wooyoung could imagine the way you smiled when San’s name fell from your lips but the former assassin above you sensed another presence in the room. Cat-like eyes looked his way and for some reason, Wooyoung felt like he walked into something he shouldn’t have.
“Sannie?” You sat up wondering why he had gone silent.
You followed his gaze and saw Wooyoung by the entryway of the lounge.
The man stared at you both for a while, noticing how San’s hair stuck out in different directions and how his lips were slightly pinker than usual. Your lips were red and swollen like the times he’d see you after you and Mingi…
“I hope I’m not interrupting.” He tried to play his surprise off as if it was a joke but inside he was screaming 'What the fuck? What the fuck?', like a broken record.
“Oh, no.” San immediately responded, sitting on the couch properly from the position he had been in, which underneath the blanket was between your legs with his pelvis pressed to your core. “Not at all.”
“Will Y/N join us?” Wooyoung walked on over to the L-shaped couch, taking note that the two of you were under the same fluffy blanket.
“I won’t be playing. Just watching for a bit.” You smiled, letting your hand that had been playing with San’s hair drop while the other slipped from under his sweats.  "I have to help Hongjoong and Seonghwa with some data later.”
San kept his practiced smile to not alert Wooyoung of what you two were doing under the blanket til he showed up. He was a bit annoyed to have been interrupted. Your dainty fingers had been wrapped around his hardening cock and were stroking him while his own fingers had been massaging your sensitive clit through your cotton panties. He even felt how your growing arousal had begun to seep through the fabric.
For now, San just readjusted your positions while still remaining under the cover of the large blanket, hiding his hard cock and practicing self-control.
Wooyoung half expected San to detach himself from you when Jongho arrived who didn’t blink an eye at yours and San’s public displays of affection, which looked more than platonic. Instead, San had you snuggled in his arms with his chin resting atop of your head as he fiddled with the buttons on the controller, trying to beat him and Jongho at a retro street racing game.
This was one of those instances that Wooyoung wondered if there was something more going on between you and San that Mingi wasn’t aware of. But then again, Mingi never batted an eye when Jongho called you princess, when Seonghwa moved the hair from your face with loving eyes, or when Yunho embraced you from behind when you were going over things with Hongjoong and Hwa on the command deck.
But apart from all these inconsistencies, well, odd behavior, Wooyoung couldn’t remove from his head how he had come in contact with you twice today. First at the gym and then at the showers with your skin glistening, the scent of peach coconut body wash, and the kiss you left on his cheek as a thanks for saving you from your fall.
God, he sounded like a teenager. He never really had a serious relationship back on Jupiter, he just messed around…a lot. Bless the maids that lost their jobs in the manor because he got caught fucking them…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
But he’s never wanted anyone as badly as he wanted you.
That night, like almost every other night, when he wasn’t missing home or the security of his life before, he was consumed by thoughts of you. Now that he had a new image of you stuck in his head (you in that fluffy towel and nothing else), he had new… jacking-off material.
Maybe to top it off tonight, he’d leave his door just a peep so he could hear you and Mingi again. You two didn’t fuck at all this week, so he’s pretty sure something might happen tonight especially since Mingi cornered him in the shower and fucking showed off.
Should he take a little peek?
With the way the gunner teased him, it’s like he wanted him to watch the two of you.
As if he was psychic, Wooyoung heard soft whimpering coming from your room. Your sweet alluring sounds.
Quietly, bare feet on the cold floor he made his way to his door. The hallway was dark now since the main lights automatically switched off at 1:30 am to conserve energy on the ship, the only thing that illuminated the hall were these color-changing dim strips of light near along the topmost part of the walls.
Tip-toeing across, he wanted to scoff at how your door was open ajar. ‘Fuck you, man.’ He swore at Mingi in his head. He really wanted to make him suffer. If Mingi wanted him to watch so badly, then don’t mind if he does. Knowing the cocky smug bastard, he probably gets off on the idea of someone watching him fuck you but can’t touch you.
Gluing himself as close as possible to the wall next to your door, he decided to take a peek.
Immediately his cock throbbed at the new never before seen sight.
Ivory silk that shimmered in the dim light of your bedroom was tied to your headboard and they decorated your wrists that were above your head. He had wondered why your sounds were quieter this time around and he knew why now. Smooth silk was between your lips.
He felt his mouth water.
The little night slip covering yet showing the curves of your body was of the same silk and the thin straps had already slipped from your shoulders, the neckline dangerously low and close to letting your tits spill out. He could see the hardened peaks beneath the fabric and how the soft flesh jiggled when you’d wriggle away from the head buried between your thighs.
Your thighs were over thick broad shoulders and seeing the way you were writhing from the pleasure of the lucky tongue lapping up your essence that he imagined to be nectar from the gods, he knew you were close to coming undone. Which usually meant, Mingi was going to fuck you next. Wooyoung’s gotta give it to the gunner for being such a generous lover and indulging in foreplay.
“Mhmf!” Your pitch got higher, your wrists now tugging at the restraints. Your soft pillowy thighs were trembling and trying to close from the unrelenting attack on your heat. Wooyoung could hear the sloppy wet slurping of the man eating you out and his cock was getting harder and harder at the new visual. So you liked getting tied up? That’s hot.
He palmed himself through his cotton pajama pants, biting his lip hard to hold back any sounds he could make and glancing at the hall making sure no one was up before returning his gaze to your lingerie-clad body.
Your hips tried to wriggle away from your lover’s tongue but his hands were hooked around your thighs to keep you from getting away. You watched as his pretty face indulged in your cunt, happily and greedily lapping and dipping his tongue in your heat, and nipping and sucking on your clit. The soft gag around your mouth prevented you from moaning out his name and you could only whine and whimper your pleas and sounds of pleasure.
The soft silk grazed over your sensitive nipples the more you rustled and tugged on the restraints, your core growing unbearably tight and your breath quickening as he slurped and sucked at your sensitive bud. Then you saw white. Your back arched off the bed as his assault on your orgasming pussy didn’t stop. He liked to push you over the edge, not as cruel as Hongjoong does but just enough to make you hazy.
Not wanting to overdo it, your lover detached his lips from your cunt, and consumed with such desire, he hovered over you, covering you with his beefy muscular upper body, and lowered the silk gag to crash his lips onto yours. You moaned into his mouth, tasting yourself on your tongue, and felt your walls tightening around nothing as he did. With one hand, he untied the silk ribbon from the headboard, letting it remain tied around your wrists yet freeing you from the restraint, finally letting you touch him.
“You’re so beautiful like this, my darling.” He spoke softly in between kisses. “I love dressing you in the prettiest things and fucking you in them.”
'Oh, god, his voice', you thought. That honey-like deep voice that made you believe sweet nothings belonged on his lips.
“This fabric is from the finest of silks in Jupiter.” He cupped your breast through the smooth thin lingerie. “When we made our stop in my home, I had to get something for my darling.” You bit your lip when he ghosted his thumb over your perked nipple. “This is silk made for a queen.”
He then sucked at your lower lip before resting his forehead against yours to savor this moment between the two of you.
“You didn’t have to...” You blushed beneath his intense gaze, his eyes so beautiful and entrancing. “I don’t need things like these—ah!”
You were cut off when his hot and hard length slotted between your lips, the man before you clicking his tongue at your words. “My beautiful love deserves beautiful things.” You let out a soft whine when you felt him rub his bulbous hot tip between your folds, covering himself in your slick. “I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love you. Nor desired anyone as I desire you."
“P-please,” you whimpered, squeezing his shoulders as the ache for friction was getting more intense. “I love you...please…I need you.”
You’d never ever get tired of any of your lovers telling you how much they loved you. You didn’t even know what you did to deserve not only one but seven men who loved you. After all the things you’ve done in your line work…you were somehow blessed with seven people you’d protect and die for. With them, you weren’t the girl you were in the academy. They made you feel as if your past was nothing but a nightmare.
“My sweet girl.” He cooed, his forehead pressed against yours as he tapped the head of cock on your clit. Your arms wrapped around his back, feeling the need to hold onto him because if you didn’t you felt like you wouldn’t be able to take the painful need throbbing inside you. “So tough and strong.” He kissed your neck, holding your hips still so he could rock his length back and forth your slit, the teasing close to making you cry. “But deep down, you want to be taken care of.”
“Please…” you begged, voice cracking with desire.
The sound made Wooyoung squeeze his cock tighter, slowly pumping himself to the sight of you through the mirror in your room where he could see the side view of your body. One of your breasts was no longer covered by the pretty silk lingerie and the ribbons tied on your wrist flowed so prettily, something about it made the whole view before him so sinful and dare he say, beautiful?
He watched as the hips between your legs connected with yours.
You moaned so obscenely when his hot tip pushed through your entrance and how his thick hot girth, stretched you out.
“Oh, Yeo.”
Wooyoung stopped the steady and slow rhythm of his hand. Did he hear that right? There was no fucking way.
“Fuck, you’re so thick.” You threw your head back, feeling him bottom out inside of you, his pretty moans music to your ears as he felt your velvety walls embrace him.
“Yeah? Look at how gorgeously split you are by my cock.”
You listened to him and glanced down, seeing the defined v-line of his hips and chiseled abdomen first before letting your gaze fall to where you two were connected. Your lower lips were parted and wrapped around him. He wasn’t as long as Mingi and Yunho but, god, he was thick and fitted inside of you like a glove.
“Come here, darling.” He wrapped his arms around you, changing your positions so he was lying down while you were sat atop of him, fully sunk onto his cock.
Wooyoung had been too distracted by you that he didn’t notice that the naked man that you were straddling and who was eating you out moments before was not the pink-haired gunner asshole who teased him earlier…it was his best friend.
“Be a good girl and ride me.” Yeosang caressed your sides before hooking a finger on the neckline of the silk slip and tugging it lower to reveal your breasts.
You slipped your arms from the straps, the lingerie he bought you now bunched at your hips while you placed your hands behind you and on his thighs as you slowly rolled your hips.
“Oh darling,” Yeosang moaned, watching you slowly raise your hips and lower them giving him a show of how his cock disappeared in and out of your tight heat, wetting him with your slick.
You bit your lip slowly adjusting to the width of him and once you felt your walls accommodate him more, you began to bounce your hips. You were lost in the way his cock rubbed your insides with each rock and bounce. His hands caressed your sides and squeezed your breasts, your moans and his messily harmonizing together along with the sound of skin slapping against skin.
Wooyoung’s cock still throbbed and he knew it was wrong that he was even more turned on at the fact that you were fucking Yeosang. Did Mingi mean what he said when he jested earlier? About fucking you? Did he actually share you?
Maybe if he wasn’t so fucking horny he would’ve stopped touching himself at the sight of you fucking someone who wasn’t Mingi. Were you seeing Yeosang behind Mingi’s back?
He didn’t really care about those things right now, not when your tits bounced so fucking prettily as you rode Yeosang. Why did you look so fucking good? With his best friend lying down, he had a full view of your body, and the fact that the lingerie was still somewhat on you, made him continue to pump his length, matching his rhythm to yours.
Yeosang wasn’t much of a dirty talker when you two spent nights together but his pretty voice and the special timbre he had even his panting and moaning made up for it. He had such a tone to him that made you shiver and ache for him all the same. He had the prettiest moans among your lovers.
“Fu—oh. Fuck,” Yeosang managed to say when he caught a glimpse of a sheer ring of white coating the base of his cock, Wooyoung had to squint but when he saw it his hand sped up. He couldn’t believe he was jacking off to you fucking yourself on his best friend’s cock.
“Yeo…” you whimpered, throwing your head back at how good he felt inside of you and Wooyoung almost moaned out loud with how delectable you looked head thrown back in pleasure and rolling your hips.
He needed to fuck you. God, he didn’t know how long he could take anymore. Would Yeosang stop him if he were to walk in right now? No, he couldn’t do that but the sinful smack of your skin against Yeosang’s as you bounced on his cock was making any form of self control almost impossible to find.
“Look at you,” Yeosang hummed, swiping his thumb on the white cream of your arousal before rolling your clit beneath his fingertip. “Taking me so prettily.”
You could only moan in response, the stimulation on your clit as his cock deliciously scraped your insides making your head spin. Your hips and thighs worked tirelessly to continue the rolling waves of mind-numbing pleasure, and your lover beneath you looked up at you with such desire and adoration in his eyes, that it made you a little shy. Only they could make you feel this way.
You gasped when Yeosang gripped your hips tighter and began to fuck into you at a fast pace, the wet obscene smacking becoming louder as he thrust strong and deep. You almost fell forward at the sudden change of pace and you cried out at how indescribably good it felt.
“Fuck, Yeo. You feel so good.” He sat up, cradling your back and wrapping your legs around his waist as he continued to fuck you. The new position allowed his cock to dive deeper, hitting your g-spot and making you melt against him.
You held onto him for dear life, your head resting on his shoulder.
Wooyoung whimpered softly in disappointment that the sight of your tits and pussy were covered now by Yeosang’s bulging muscular back which had the silk ribbons around your wrists flowing down against them as you clawed at his skin.
Good thing he was close. He was so fucking close.
He glanced at the mirror once more, biting his lip harder when he saw the way Yeosang’s hips were driving into your pussy. Why couldn’t that be him?
He squeezed his cock harder and increased his pace, he was going to cum. Your breasts were bouncing with each thrust and he could see how your nipples brushed Yeosang’s chest.  He imagined what that would feel like and how tight your pussy would feel around his cock, how it would squeeze him, how it would feel, hot wet, and inviting—
Wooyoung’s eyes flickered to your face wanting to cum at the sight of your blissed-out expression but his heart stopped when his eyes met your heavy-lidded ones with pupils blown in lust.
Your lips were loosely pressed against Yeosang’s shoulder as he pounded into you when you suddenly met a pair of eyes by the door, peering in. If it had been any of your lovers, they would have shamelessly walked in and watched. So...who?
Vision focusing and adjusting to the dark, you made out the strong jawline and the unmistakable shape of those eyes to be none other than Jung Wooyoung. Yeosang’s best friend.
Wooyoung saw how your brows furrowed at his presence and how your eyes glanced down, finding his hand that was wrapped around his cock, tip red and angry, leaking with precum.
“Fuck.” Yeosang swore when felt your walls squeeze him, not knowing it was because you had noticed Wooyoung by the door.
You never knew you’d be turned on by the idea of being watched til it was teased out of you by your lovers. It had started when San had caught you and Mingi when your relationship with him had reached the three-month milestone. Mingi being a switch had enjoyed teasing both you and San that night…seeing Wooyoung by the door, reminded you a little bit of how cute Sannie was all hard and frozen by the door that very night.
Smirking a little, a wicked idea popped into your head.
Running your hands through Yeosang’s hair, you kissed and moaned against his neck just a tad bit louder, all that while keeping your gaze locked with Wooyoung’s.
“You close, my love?” You purred into Yeosang’s ear, soft yet audible enough for the man by the door to hear.
Wooyoung clenched his teeth harder, fighting back his moans as his eyes were pleading for release while imagining his cock was in you instead of his hand. You weren’t making this easier for him.
Yeosang groaned at the way your term of endearment for him rolled off your tongue so seductively. “Mhm.” He hummed in response, panting as he chased both yours and his releases.
“You’re making me feel so good.” You held him tighter, his hands guiding your hips to match his movements. Your lustful drunk-like stare remained on Wooyoung and he couldn’t tear his own eyes from you. “I want you to fill me up.”
A moan almost escaped Wooyoung at that. Why were you looking at him when you said that? It was painful enough to fist his cock in secret while watching someone else fuck you but now this? This was some new kind of torture.
“Y-Yeo,” your eyes shut in bliss while your mouth parted in a breathless and soundless moan, while your lover spurred on by your words, moved with passion to bring you both to ecstasy.
Yeosang’s pants and whines always were like a melody you can never get out of your head.  You wondered, despite your state of a daze, if he knew how weak you were for his comfort and his warmth. His gentleness and affection were different.  They all loved you in their own ways, different but it was love all the same.
His moans became higher in pitch as he lost himself and his hold on your hips tightened. You couldn’t hold back all the sounds that left you as he brought you to climax, the rhythm of his hips getting faster, the resounding smacks bouncing off the walls. Your eyes locked with Wooyoung’s once more before they shut as you were pushed over the edge. Your body arched into Yeosang's as you gasped, unable to stop the trembling of your hips as your head went blank with pleasure.
You felt your release drip down your pulsing heat and made a mess on his cock that hasn’t ceased its assault on your spamming cunt. “That’s my darling. My sweet darling.” He cooed over and over til his own hips stilled. He slammed into you hard one last time as a strangled moan left him.
Wooyoung bit his lip hard enough to draw blood as he felt the pressure at the base of his spine explode and release into his hand. The sight of his milky white release made your mouth water and you couldn’t help the thought that popped in your head. How it was such a waste for his cum to not be on you or in you. Maybe it was just your orgasm brain playing tricks on you and not making you think straight but you held onto your lover tighter, feeling his release warm your insides.
Yeosang laid you down gently on the bed, not detaching himself from you as he peppered kisses all over your chest as if worshipping you and thanking you.
You moved your head a little from the pillow to look at the door, only to find that the little peeping Tom had disappeared. Before you could feel the growing hint of disappointment that the new crew member was gone, you were pulled away from your thoughts by Yeosang. You gasped softly when he took your left breast in his warm mouth, sucking and swirling his tongue on your sensitive peak as he kept his pelvis pressed to yours to keep his release inside of you.
Wooyoung retreated to his room and locked the door, the post-nut clarity creeping up to him fast.
What had he just seen?
As if doing what he did to you and Mingi wasn’t bad already, this was…he didn’t even know what to think.
The guilt ate him up but at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a dark cloud blooming in his chest. He didn’t know if he was reading too much into it but did you enjoy having him watch? He swore when your eyes locked with his as Yeosang fucked you and he was jerking off, there was a brief glimpse of a smirk.
As he cleaned up the mess of his cum on his hand and changed out of his shirt, he poked his head out his door so he could check he didn’t have traces of him on the floor or anywhere near your door.
What the fuck has he done? Why were you and Yeosang together?
He glanced at your still slightly open door wondering if you and his best friend were still going at it. If he had gotten caught by both of you, would he have been invited to join? He lightly knocked the back of his head with his fist for having thought about that. He was being delusional.
With tissues, he wiped away drops of his cum that had fallen to the floor quietly while telling himself he won’t try to listen to any more sounds that should be found because of your partially open door.
Before he could hear anything, he disappeared into his room and made sure his door was closed and locked.
He went over his conclusions about your relationship with the crew.
You and Mingi had been together for two years while you and San had basically grown up together and shared a friendship that looked far from platonic as he always looked like a love-sick puppy when you were around. Now Yeosang? Where the fuck did Yeosang fit in the equation?
It didn’t make sense to him and the last thought that crossed his mind was far too absurd…but then again, not entirely impossible.
It was just too crazy to be real. Which brought him back to his and Mingi’s conversation in the showers.
“What if it was an invitation?” Mingi’s words echoed in his head.
Even though he played it off as a joke, Wooyoung couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t entirely just a joke.

dreams to be desired - fushiguro megumi
Tumblr media
word count: 7.3k warnings: swearing, implied smut (smutty without being smut bc i'm shy) summary: you know megumi dreams about you, but he’s still too reserved to make the first move.  oh well, you’ll just take matters into your own hands. more info: all characters are aged up! jujutsu tech is a college in this fic
It was getting warm in the small dorm, and if Megumi thought twice about it he might have been uncomfortable with his shirt sticking to his back, but any thoughts of getting up to turn on his fan went out the window as a gentle pair of hands grabbed the offending material and teasingly began to lift.
(y/n’s) giggling was soft enough in his ear that he almost couldn’t hear it over the deafening sound of his own heart pounding.  He tried to steady his breath so that he could better focus on the girl in front of him.
It was a miracle that she was here, sitting before him in his own bed.  He wasn’t sure what he’d done to deserve her presence at this time of night, but upon feeling the cool pads of her fingertips tracing upwards over his abdomen, he let the thought disappear with that of the fan across the room.
“Your skin’s hot,” She murmurs, her lips still close to his ear, before she leans back to look at him.  “Maybe this should come off, hm?” She asks, tugging further on his tee shirt.
Reaching one hand behind his back, he made great haste in pulling the shirt over his head, tossing it to the floor without a glance.  The sudden burst in confidence wasn’t like Megumi, but deep down he knew this was a rare opportunity, and he wasn’t about to waste a single minute.
(y/n) grins in amusement, which slowly fades into a smirk as her eyes wander down his exposed chest.  She leans forward on her knees, her eyes slowly falling shut, but before she could plant her lips on his, his hands stop her.
Her eyes open suddenly, brow raised in curiosity as to why in the world he would stop her.  He’s smiling at her.
She looks down at his hands on her waist, fingers tracing the lacy edges of her tank top.
“Your turn,” He murmurs, azure eyes trailing slowly down to where his hands held her shirt- if you could even call it that.  The thin black fabric left very little to the imagination, and yet his heart was racing as his hands slowly slid under the fabric, curling around her waist.  “Fair’s fair”
She’s giggling again, and Megumi wonders briefly if it’s possible to get drunk off of a sound.
“I ‘spose I can’t argue with that”
He’s heard that teasing lilt in her voice before, that false saccharine that makes him second guess his every move, his every word.  Normally he’d fluster, turn away with a ‘tch’ and hope that his dismissal was enough to make her leave him alone, so that he could hide his red tinted ears that always gave him away before the blush on his cheeks.
Tonight he doesn’t shy away from her playfulness.  Instead, his lips curl into an almost devious grin as she follows his command.
She shoos his hands away from her waist, taking the hem of her shirt in her hands and pulling the fabric upwards in a tantalizingly slow motion.  Megumi’s tempted to rip the fabric clean over her head in one foul swoop, but he bites his lip and does his best to remain patient.
If she wanted to make a whole show of it, then who was he to rush things? He’d waited this long for his shot with her, it would be silly for him to complain about how slowly she took her clothes off.
Besides, to his amusement, he finally got to see what her preferred color of lingerie was.
Pink.
He had to admit, he was a little surprised.  His mouth watered.
She’s wearing her own grin as she finally clutches the skimpy tank top in one hand, letting it fall to the ground to be forgotten with his own shirt.
Megumi lets himself marvel at her beautiful, perfect, angelic body for just a moment longer.  Slowly, his hooded eyes trail up her torso , creeping over every inch of exposed skin and lacy pink fabric until they meet hers.
Without a second longer wasted, the pair dart towards one another, lips colliding in a heated kiss.  His hands wander everywhere they can reach, warm palms leaving goosebumps in their wake.  He’s humming, almost purring, contentedly into her mouth with every soft patch of skin that he’s able to touch.
Her hands reach for his chest again, smoothing over his collarbones before trailing down, down, slower with every passing second.  He’d never pegged her for such a tease, or perhaps she was just trying to take in as much of him as he was of her.  Her hands finally pause just above his trousers, fingers just barely hooking into the fabric.  Just enough to make him shudder at the thought of them traveling further.
“(y/n/n)...” He murmurs, lips tracing up her jaw on one side, the other side cupped securely in his large hand to keep her in place.
“What?”
“(y/n)...” He voices again, reaching a tender spot just below her ear.
“What?” She asks again, beginning to laugh.  But it wasn’t her previous flirty giggle, it was a boisterous cackle.  A masculine one.
Megumi retreats from her neck, his brows in a knot.
“Did you say (y/n)?” She asks, but it’s most certainly not her voice.
In fact, it’s clearly Yuuji’s. ___
Megumi shoots upright in bed, chest heaving from the harsh awakening.  And to his dismay, there was Yuuji, bent over and cackling so hard his face was red.
“Have a nice sleep?” Yuuji asks when he finally catches his breath.  He brings a hand to his face to wipe the tears from his eyes.
“I was,” Megumi grumbled.  “What’re you doing in my room?”
“Well, I came to see if you wanted to go on a run with me,” Yuuji says, plopping himself into Megumi’s desk chair, swiveling back and forth like a child.  “You didn’t answer the door, figured I’d wake you up, you don’t usually sleep in.  But you must’ve been reeaall comfortable”
He’s grinning so wide that Megumi’s surprised his face doesn’t split right in two.
“Shut up” He muttered, dropping back down onto his pillow.
“(y/n/n), ooh, (y/nnn),” Yuuji mimics.  “You said her name a lot”
Megumi grabs the sides of his pillow with his fists and closes it tightly against his ears.  It’s not enough to drown out Yuuji’s voice in the slightest.
“I knew you had a thing for her.  I can’t wait to see her reaction when I tell her you were having a wet dream about her,” He giggles, and despite all his teasing, his cheeks were flushed pink at the thought.
“Don’t you dare” The annoyed boy growls, dropping his pillow and sitting up again to properly glare at his so-called friend.
“Oh come on, she’d love it!” Yuuji exclaims.  “She has a thing for you too.  Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s had her fair share of steamy dreams about you”
Megumi rolls his eyes.  Of all the possible people that could have walked in to hear him muttering her name in his sleep, Yuuji was probably the worst possible choice.
Why couldn’t it have been Inumaki? At least he wouldn’t have been able to tell anyone.
“So, a run?” Yuuji asks.
Megumi grabs his pillow from behind it and chucks it at him.  Yuuji dodges with ease.
“That a no?”
“Get out”
When he’s gone, Megumi collapses back into his mattress, hiding his face in his hands and groaning.
This is what he gets for enjoying something for once.  He can’t even have a scrap of peace in his dreams. ___
“(y/n)! Nobara!”
Yuuji jogs to catch up with his classmates who had just been wandering towards the front gates.  Both girls stopped in their tracks, turning to see their pink haired friend breaking into a sprint.
“Why’s he running so fast?” (y/n) asks.
“I don’t know.  But it’s too late to out run him now” Nobara mutters, placing her hands on her hips as she glares at their approaching classmate.
(y/n) hums in agreement.
When Yuuji finally gets within hearing range, she calls out to him.
“I thought you were going to run with Megumi?”
“Oh, he was not in the mood” Yuuji laughs as if it was an inside joke.
(y/n) and Nobara shared a look, each telling the other not to ask what was so funny, for the sake of time.  Sometimes the things Yuuji found funny didn’t make sense, and it was just better to go along with it.
“Well, we’re not in the mood either,” Nobara speaks up.  “We’re going shopping”
“You can come if you want,” (y/n) offers kindly, earning a side glare from Nobara.  “But we’ll be out all day.  Might be worth it to wait around to hang with Megumi instead”
“I don’t think he’s going to speak to me for the rest of the day,” Yuuji shakes his head.  “Maybe the rest of time,” He mutters.
Both girls don’t really react.  It wasn’t unlike Megumi to be pouting and dishing out the silent treatment to Yuuji.  Or anyone, really.
“But he’d probably still speak to you (y/n)” He adds with a high pitched lilt to his voice.
(y/n’s) brows furrow.
“Huh?”
Yuuji does a little shoulder shimmy that only furthers her confusion.
(y/n’s) eyes slide over to Nobara, hoping the short haired girl would provide some insight to their friend’s weird, weird antics.  But she only rolls her eyes and scoffs.
“Spit it out, Itadori” Nobara barks.
Yuuji giggles, hiding his grin behind his hand as he stares at (y/n), who’s growing increasingly concerned for his well being.
Maybe I should hang out with him more, she thinks.  Is he not getting enough attention..?
“I can’t tell,” He says, still squealing behind his hands.  “But it’s juicy!”
(y/n) blinks, wondering where in the world Yuuji got hot gossip from.  Not that he didn’t have friends, anyone who’s ever met him was his friend.  But there weren’t exactly a lot of people at Jujutsu Tech, and everyone got along fairly well.  So juicy gossip was hard to come by.
(The closest thing that ever came to it was when Panda caught Maki blushing over a photo of Yuta, but as soon as he dared tease her for it, he was on the ground.  So that was deemed off limits)
“Spill!” Nobara darted forward, grabbing Yuuji by the shoulders.  “Spill! Now!”
“I told you! I can’t!” Yuuji shrieked.
Nobara grimaced, and began to shake him by the shoulders at a dangerous speed, sending his head knocking back and forth.
“If you don’t tell me the juicy gossip right now I’ll murder you!” She threatened.  “Is it about me!?”
Yuuji grumbled noises of protest until she stopped shaking him.  His eyes blinked heavily as he tried to fight the dizziness that washed over him.
“I think ‘m gonna be sick” He muttered, holding a hand to his head.
(y/n) frowned, stepping forward and raising his head to check his eyes.
“You’re fine,” She told him with certainty.  “But you better fess up before she freaks out.  What’d you hear?”
“Is it bad?” Nobara asks, her lips curling into a frown, (y/n) looks over at her, wondering the same thing.  Why else would he be so weird about spilling the beans that he brought up first? “Are people talking shit about me?”
“Are people talking shit about her?” (y/n) whips her head around at lightning speed, and her fists grab the collar of his uniform, dragging him in close.  Close enough that he can see the violent glint in her eye that she usually only gets when she’s taking down a curse.  He swallows thickly, never having been so intimidated by the normally sweet girl.
“N-no!” Yuuji shakes his head rapidly.  “No one’s talking shit about anyone!”
(y/n) drops her hands from his shirt and takes a step backwards so she was out of his personal space.
“Oh” Nobara mumbles, almost sounding disappointed.  (y/n) and Yuuji share a confused look, before (y/n) gets back on track.
“Then what is so juicy that you’re giggling?”
Yuuji’s bubbly laughter returns as he remembers what he was so giddy about in the first place.  (y/n’s) eye twitches with impatience.
“Someone has a crush on you” He sing-songs.
(y/n) blinks wide, almost owlishly so, slowly processing his words.
A crush?
“Ohmygosh!” Nobara squeals, suddenly sounding just like Yuuji.  She bounces on her feet and nearly pushes (y/n) aside to get up in his face.  “Who! Who! Who!?”
This time when she grabs him by the shoulders to shake him, Yuuji is quick to pry her hands off.
A crush on me? (y/n) ponders to herself.  As intrigued as she was, her heart sinks a little bit as an awkward feeling spreads throughout her stomach.  Guilt, perhaps.  The feeling surely crept around her insides like guilt did.  I already have feelings for someone, she winced.  And those feelings are definitely not going anywhere anytime soon.
“It wouldn’t be right if I-”
“Itadori Yuuji if you don’t tell me right now I’ll kill you!”
“Would you stop threatening me?” Yuuji shrieked.
“Then stop baiting us and spill-!”
“Nobara,” (y/n) spoke, catching both of her friends’ attention.  “It’s okay,” She says.  “He doesn’t have to say anything”
“What!?” Nobara and Yuuji squawk in unison.
“I don’t need to know,” (y/n) shrugged lamely.  “It’s fine”
“Seriously?” Nobara gawks.  “Someone’s in love with you and you’re not dying to know who?”
“I didn’t say that exactly” Yuuji mumbled under his breath.
“No,” (y/n) replies nonchalantly.  “I don’t need to know.  Clearly they don’t want me to, so it’s not my business, right?”
“No!” Nobara hollered.  “It’s all of our business!”
(y/n) chuckles to herself at her friend’s bewilderment.  She supposed it made sense.  Anyone who’s heart wasn’t spoken for would have happily accepted the news of a secret admirer.
“You made it our business,” Nobara glared Yuuji down, shoving her finger into his chest.  “And if you don’t tell us right now who (y/n’s) little valentine is then I’ll-”
“Yeah yeah, you’ll rip my throat out,” Yuuji put his hands up in defeat.  “Look, all that’s fair of me to say, is I caught him this morning when I was trying to have a running buddy,”
That piqued (y/n’s) interest, and suddenly she was all ears to what Yuuji had to say.  Because to her knowledge, Yuuji had only visited one person this morning.
“But he was fast asleep.  Like a baby.  A little baby dreaming and moaning, (y/n/n), oh (y/n/n)...” He trailed off making kissy faces while Nobara’s jaw dropped open.
“No way Megumi had a sexy dream about (y/n)!” She screeched.
Yuuji could have sworn he saw birds flee from trees upon the high pitched scream.
“I said I couldn’t say!” Yuuji declared, raising his hands in innocence.
“But you did,” Nobara accused, a wicked grin on her face.  “That’s fucking crazy! I can’t believe Megumi’s got a thing for you!”
She spun around on her heel, curious towards (y/n’s) reaction.
“Yeah, wh-who knew…” (y/n) mumbled, eyes glazed over as she was clearly somewhere else at the moment.
Nobara and Yuuji glanced at each other, indulging in an excited look.
Surprise, excitement, nervousness, desire, happiness, all these emotions hit (y/n) like a truck.
Megumi had a dream about me? A sexy dream? The thought made her stomach flood with butterflies.
“But that- that doesn’t mean he has feelings for me,” (y/n) stammers out, finally looking over to her friends, as if waiting for them to confirm with her.  “Right? I mean, anyone can have, uh, wet dreams.  It’s not like you have control over them”
Nobara rolls her eyes.  “Don’t be stupid”
Yuuji giggles some more.  “Only one way to find out!”
“What’s that?” (y/n) asks.
“By messing with him!” ___
With the plan of shopping officially scrapped, (y/n) wipes her clammy palms on the front of her uniform skirt.  As fun as the idea was at first, now that it was in motion, she thought she could puke.
It’s just the butterflies, she tells herself.  She’s never really been a shoot-your-shot kind of girl, rather a hope-they-can-feel-me-staring-and-that’s-enough-to-let-them-know-I’m-interested type.
“That’s idiotic!” Maki had barked in response.
(y/n) wasn’t sure when Maki and Toge had gotten roped into this, but here they were, involved, in… whatever this was.  A trap?
It was sort of a trap, she supposed, just not the fun kind that resulted in exorcizing a curse.  The nerve wracking kind, where she had to go persuade Megumi into making a move without giving away that Yuuji blabbed his fat mouth.
“(y/n), listen to me carefully,” Maki said, in the sweetest voice (y/n) had ever heard from her.
The intimidating woman placed her hands on her shoulders, and crouched over enough to look her directly in the eyes.  All of the contact made her fluster and her face feel hot.
Fuck.  If I fluster this much now, how am I supposed to seduce Megumi into admitting he has feelings for me? God, I’m such a fool, I should put a stop t this before I can’t turn back-
“You’re hot,” Maki states, matter-of-factly.  “You’re the hottest person here,”
Nobara scoffed, earning a swat to the back of the head from Yuuji.
“And anyone would be so lucky to have sex dreams about you,” Maki continued.  Every word boosted (y/n’s) confidence, but the butterflies in her stomach continued their ruthless crusade.  “And men are stupid.  Especially Megumi.  He’s stupid for not making a move.  And now you have to make him pay, understand?”
(y/n) gulped, and nodded her head.
“So.  Be a big girl.  Hike up your skirt and unbutton your shirt.  Then go seduce the hell out of him”
(y/n) nods again, fingers readily undoing the top button of her uniform, revealing her collarbone.
“Are we sure that I can’t just ask him on a date?” She asks.
“Tch,” Maki’s lips curled into a devilish smirk.  She reached forward, grabbing the second button of (y/n’s) shirt and in a swift motion popped it open too.
Did she have first hand experience in seduction or something? (y/n) wondered as she stared down at the tease of skin that was exposed.  Just a little bit of cleavage, she supposed just enough to make someone want to see more.
“This is much more fun.  Yeah?” Maki asked, followed by a wink.
(y/n) let out a shaky breath.
“Fine,” She agreed, earning quiet cheers from the group of friends who were here to support this ridiculous plan.  “Okay.  I’m gonna go do it” She said, more to herself than anyone else.  And with that, she spun on her heel and headed off to find her target.
As she wandered the campus, she tried to keep her thoughts confident.  She was beautiful, and she knew it,  but that didn’t mean her confidence was always at it’s peak.
Maybe Gojo would have been a good person to get confidence advice from, she thought briefly, but it was too late now to track down her teacher.  The plan was in motion, and she needed to see it through before she could chicken out.
Besides, she was curious about this dream of Megumi’s, and if this was how she was going to get answers, so be it!
She finally found him just as she was heading out of the school, he just so happened to be jogging up the stairs.
The seduction plan left her mind for a moment, replaced with more innocent thoughts of how cute he looked in his casual clothes.  She especially liked when he wore a plain white button up and trousers, as simple as it was, it just looked striking on him.
“Hey, (y/n),” Megumi greeted upon nearing the top of the steps where she stood.
His eyes noticeably widened for a moment, taking in the shorter length of her skirt that showcased her long legs (did they even have an end?) and was her shirt unbuttoned more than usual?
“You goin’ out?” He asked, jerking his thumb over his shoulder.
“No, actually,” (y/n) replied, and reminded herself what it was she was after.  “I was actually looking for you”
“Oh?” Megumi hums, tucking his hands in his pockets.  “Well, you found me”
He’s standing just a couple steps from the top, so he’s just about eye level with her.  Boldly, (y/n) takes a step forward, closing a significant amount of space between them, leaving only a few inches of room between her body and his.
“I like that shirt on you, you know,” She says, doing her best to keep her voice even, and surprisingly, it was well.
Megumi had to hold his breath to keep himself from choking on air.  She liked how he looked?
“I think it makes you look taller” She adds, gaining a little more confidence in her words.
“Maybe you’re just short enough that I always look taller?” Megumi replies, but his voice is just a little more quiet than he means it to be.
Was he nervous? Was this little stunt actually working?
“You might be right” She smiles.
“Is that why you were looking for me?” He asked, raising a brow.  “To compliment me?”
She lets out a little giggle, and the sound instantly brings back images from his dream last night.  It sounded nearly identical to the hazy, flirty giggles she’d made in his subconscious.
Thinking about that now makes his stomach drop and his face suddenly feel warm.  He hopes- no- prays that he’s not blushing right now.  To any deity that would listen.
“No, you just distracted me, s’all,” She finally answers him.
Megumi’s holding his breath again. He distracted her? When she’s standing there looking like that?
“I was looking for you because I could use some help with a history assignment, and I know you’re the go-to.  Do you have a minute?”
Even if he was overwhelmingly busy, he still would have nodded his head and happily spent the rest of the night helping her with her studies.
“Yeah, sure” He says with a kind smile.
(y/n) grins ear to ear.
“Perfect,” She says.  “Come with me”
With that, she’s grabbing his wrist and pulling him behind her.  He stumbles for a second, surprised from the contact and sudden control she took over him.
He’s not sure he’s ever really touched her, beyond some training, or maybe if they were squeezed next to each other on the couch for movie night.  But having her pulling on his arm as she leads him who knows where had his heart racing more than it probably should have.
She brings him all the way to the library, which is empty seeing as it’s a weekend and everyone is doing anything but studying right now.  He’s sure most of their classmates aren’t even on campus.
“What’s the assignment for, again?” Megumi asks.
“The Paranormal of the Middle Ages,” (y/n) replies, which isn’t a lie, she does have to write a paper, but it’s not due for another few weeks.  Normally she wouldn’t get started on it until the week it’s due.
History is her best subject after all.
“Any recommendations on where to start?”
She finally drops his hand, turning to look at him.  She’s still awfully close, he has to tilt his head down to meet her gaze, which he quickly turns away from, scanning the bookshelves.
“Uh, actually, yeah I do,” He says sheepishly.  “Here, follow me”
She follows the command, and keeps up with his quick strides to the corner where the history books were stocked.
When he gets to the shelf he was looking for, he quickly scans along the spines of books to find the one he’d read just a few months ago.
“Looking for something specific?” (y/n) asks, standing close by his side.
His eyes barely meet hers before returning to the books, unable to look at her when she’s this close.
Does she even realize? She’s not usually like this, right?
“Yeah, I actually read something I read not too long ago.  It’ll do for your report, but, uhm, you might actually like it”
“A personal recommendation,” (y/n) muses with a smile.  “I’m sure to like it then”
He finally finds the text he was looking for and he thanks the stars he did because his head was starting to feel dizzy and light from her sweet perfume lingering around him.  Despite how cloudy it made his head, he hoped the scent lingered on him later.
“There you are,” He says, plucking the book from the shelf and handing it to her.
(y/n) steps even closer, and he hesitates on the thought of stepping back, but ultimately decides he’d be an idiot if he didn’t entertain every second of having her this close to him.
When she takes the book from him, her fingers brush over his for just long enough that it couldn’t have been accidental, but he’s too consumed by his own nerves to call her on it.
“It- uh- it should have everything, I don’t think y-you’d need another one, for the report,” He’s stammering, and she looks up at him, still smiling.  Was she enjoying this? Was this on purpose? “Unless you want? Do you need more than one source?”
He knows that she heard him, but she just stands there, her eyes flickering between his curiously.  Was she reading him? Is that what this was? Some test? She wanted information out of him?
He was so busy investigating this little act, if he could even call it that, that he almost missed her setting the book back on the shelf.
“Megumi,” His name falls off of her lips, in almost a coo it’s so quiet.  “Are you nervous?”
No, of course not! He wants to deny right away, but she’s peering up at him from under those long lashes of hers, and she smells so good that he thinks he’s already putty in her hands, and it would be useless to try to convince her of anything else.
“What are you doing?” He asks instead, in a hushed voice as if there was anyone who could overhear.
But again, it’s a Saturday, and they’re in a library, completely alone.
(y/n) turns, biting her lip to keep herself from smiling too much.  She leans back against the bookcase casually, before shrugging her shoulders.
“Can I tell you something personal, Megumi?” She asks, softly, because he leans in a bit closer when she whispers, and she likes having him too close to her.  “It’s a little embarrassing,” She says, smiling down at the ground.
He steps closer, nodding his head.  He reaches a clammy palm to the back of his neck, anxiously rubbing the spot.
“It’s silly, but I thought you might be able to help,” She says, tilting her head to the side as she looks up at him again, wanting to watch his every reaction to what she was going to say next.  “There’s a guy” She whispers, even softer than before.
Fuck.  Seriously? She wants boy advice? Megumi mentally face-palms.  He has to fight to keep his expression neutral.  I thought for a second there she could have been coming onto me.  Clearly she just wanted advice from a friend.
“A guy?”
She nods, not breaking eye contact with him.
“Yeah, a guy,” She sighs.  “And I really like him.  I can’t stop thinking about him, it’s driving me crazy” She lets her eyes flutter shut, her head falling back, pushing against the books behind her.
Megumi’s eyes wander the features of her face, and he feels ridiculous for thinking about how perfect she looks, even more angelic than she had in his dreams.  How could she stand here, and look this good, smell this good, and talk to him about how some guy makes her feel.
“You- uh… you sure you don’t want to talk to Kugisaki about this?” He asks, and starts to brush past her to leave.  “I’ll go find her”
(y/n’s) hand grabs his wrist before he can walk away, and her grip isn’t strong at all, but it’s enough to make him stand before her.
“No,” She hums.  “Talking to her won’t really help me, I don’t think”
Why the hell am I the go-to? Megumi thinks.  We’ve never once talked about this stuff.  Anyone would be better to confide in than me.
But he lets out a breath and nods, staying put in front of her.
“Fine,” He mumbles.  “What is it then? You want to ask him out or something?”
A beam spreads over (y/n’s) lips.
“Sort of.  Not exactly,” She says, her eyes trailing away from his, daring to land on his pink lips for a few seconds too long for it to be discreet.
Unconsciously, and anxiously, Megumi licks his dry lips and hopes she would get this over with quickly.  He’s so close to her, and with her back to the bookshelf, he feels increasingly more tempted to close the last of the distance between them, shove her back into the shelf and kiss her senseless.
He shifts on his feet, trying to think of anything but that.
“I kind of want to make him squirm first,” She admits.
You’ve already got that mastered, Megumi thinks, only sort of bitterly.
“See, he’s really been on my mind, Megumi,” She sighs, and he wants to scowl at her for saying his name like that, like she was out of breath.
Against his will, his dream resurfaces in his mind.
His eyes glance down to her mouth, turned into a little pout.
“It’s been distracting, honestly.  I can’t go a minute without thinking about him, I can’t focus on work, or training.  I was supposed to go shopping with Nobara today, ya’know,”
Curse her for saying things that should be breaking his heart, but the look on her face is all too enticing for him to walk away from.  He’s trying not to frown, but the more she talks about how this guy has occupied her every thought, the more stormy he feels.
I’ll have to get a name out of her so I can find him and scare the shit out of him, a lightbulb blinks over Megumi’s head.  Surely he’s not deserving of all this attention she’s giving him anyways.  No guy deserves a girl like her.
“I think I’m getting off track,” (y/n) giggles again, and Megumi’s eyes snap back to hers.  He realizes he’s been staring at her lips for far too long, and heat crawls up his neck.  “What the real problem is I can’t even escape him in my sleep” She says.
The heat in his neck and face is replaced instantly with ice cold fear.
“Like- like in your dreams?” He stammers, more nervous now than he had been during this entire interaction.
(y/n) nods slowly, keeping her eyes on his.
“Yeah,” She mumbles.  “Like in my dreams,”
How could she have known? Yuuji? Would he have really told her? No, maybe he didn’t, maybe this is just coincidence.
A small smirk tugs at the corner of her lips, and then she’s leaning forward, pushing onto the tips of her toes to reach impossibly closer to him.
His eyes, blown wide, follow her every movement, until she’s hovering just before him, the tip of her nose almost brushing into his.
“Thing is,” She murmurs, cool, strawberry mint breath fanning over his lips, and he has to fight his own eyes to stay open.  “I know he thinks about me too,”
His fingers twitch at his sides, dying to reach out and grab her by her hips, like it was the sole purpose of his hands.
Her cruel eyes rest on his lips, because she can’t help herself.  They’re pink, and look plush, and she can only imagine how amazing they’d feel against her own, against her skin, anywhere he’d like to place them, she’d surely let him without any fight.
She lets her gaze meet his slowly, letting him know exactly where she was looking, and exactly what she was thinking.
Megumi thinks he’s never felt so much pent up tension in his life.
“But I just can’t seem to get him to make a damn move,” She finishes her thought while she tries to pick out every shade of blue in his irises, which are nearly blown by his pupils.
(y/n) thinks she’s never felt so in need in her life.
She’s glad that she talked her friends out of spying on this little scheme, instead talking them into an all day shopping spree- which once she’d suggested, Nobara had practically dragged the whole gang out to the front gates.
“So Megumi,” She hums, leaning away from him, resting her back against the bookshelf again, amused at his rigid stance.  “Any thoughts? What could I do to make it clear to him how I feel, because to be honest with you, he seems a little dense at times”
She takes him in, all of him, now that she has a little distance from him.  Which isn’t saying much, since he’s literally standing toe to toe with her.  His height towers over hers, so even if she’s not on the tips of her toes to be face to face, it still feels like he’s completely surrounding her.
His fingers are tapping at his leg at a rapid, unsteady pace.  He bites his lip roughly and then releases, tongue darting out to soothe the ache, and his eyes can barely stay on her.  But even as they dart around, they always make their way back, and there she is, still staring at him.
She waits patiently, because she has all the time in the world.
This is a test, Megumi thinks, his thoughts running through his head a million miles a minute.  It has to be a test.  And I’m failing by just standing here and not saying anything.  She’s going to walk away if I don’t say something.
He’s not sure where this came from, this sudden change in demeanor, the change in her uniform, all of it.  It’s truly dizzying, and he’s not thinking clearly.  He doesn’t like having a hazy mind, he likes to stay sharp, vigilant.
But how could he be expected to do that when she’s here before him like this?
So he doesn’t say anything at all.
He just acts.
His lips are against hers and she’s shoved into the bookshelf so fast she squeaks in surprise before melting into him, and passionately returning the kiss.
His large palms grab at her lips, keeping her flush against him and while also keeping her pinned to the shelf.  She hums into his mouth, a little sound of delight as her own hands grab the collar of his shirt, fisting the material tightly.  It almost grounds her, because as soon as Megumi kissed her, she was ten feet off the ground, and then fifteen, and soon she was floating away into the clouds.
(y/n) gasps as he prods her mouth open, his tongue swiping over her bottom lip before temptation gives in and he sinks his teeth into it.  She whimpers when he releases and goes back to kissing her feverishly.
His palms are hot even through the material of her shirt, and she’s dying to feel his skin against hers.
Megumi decides rather quickly that he wants to take his time devouring her, and to do that, he was going to have to find a more comfortable position so that he wasn’t craning his neck so much.
Acting quickly, his hands wandered down from her hips, and he had to crouch a bit just to reach her ass.
“Jump” He ordered gruffly, and (y/n) wasted no time in following the instruction.
His hands held her securely as she wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped into his chest.  Her legs wound around his narrow hips with ease, and as soon as he had her pressed into the shelf again, Megumi was kissing her exposed collarbone, grazing his teeth ever so gently against her skin.
(y/n’s) fingers tangle into his hair as his lips travel up her neck, pressing featherlight kisses against the more sensitive skin.
“Megumi,” She mewls as his nose prods against her earlobe so he can reach the sweet spot at the junction of her neck and jaw.
It’s like her voice goes straight to dick, and heat pools in his lower abdomen.
In return, he sucks harshly at the spot he’d previously been leaving little kisses.  Her fingers tighten in his hair.
“Megumi,” She calls his name again, breathless, while hands sliding down the nape of his neck before they grip his shoulders.  He pulls away, panting slightly as his hooded eyes meet hers.  “Why didn’t you…sooner...”
She trails off, her lust blown eyes falling to his swollen lips, and she almost forgets her question as she thinks about grabbing his bottom lip with her teeth and sucking on it to her heart’s content.
“What is it, angel?” He murmurs, pushing his nose against her as he blindly leans in to steal another kiss.  “What do you need?”
His lips brush over hers as he speaks, and a shiver runs down her spine that she knows he feels, because she can feel his smirk on her own lips and she wants nothing more than to never speak again so that she can always have his mouth on hers.
“Need you” Her voice is so small that if she wasn’t whimpering directly into his mouth he would have never heard it.
Fuck, is Megumi glad that he got back to the school just in time to catch her on the stairs.  What luck he had to run into her when he did.
He grins, before sealing their lips in a messy, hot kiss.  (y/n’s) hands claw at his shoulders, and then grip the material of his shirt, so tight her knuckles ache.  But she’s overwhelmed with the heat- the heat of his body, the heat between her legs, the heat of his skin.
A coy smile curls at the edge of his lips, and as desperate as he is to keep her mouth occupied by his, he can’t help but tilt his head back, just enough to get a good look at her.
At first she tilts forward, chasing his lips, before realizing he wasn’t going to cave back into her.  Her bottom lip juts out in the slightest pout as her eyes flutter open.
Her brows draw together in the smallest movement.  Her eyes are puzzled, but she doesn’t ask him why he stopped.  She simply takes the time to admire her features, while he does the same.
Megumi’s eyes trace every inch of her face, as if he hasn’t already committed every feature, every dip curve and freckle, to memory.
He’s smiling, and not a teasing little grin he’s been giving her, he’s really smiling.  Out of bliss.
She smiles back at him.
“It was me, right?” He mumbles.  “That you were talking about?”
Crinkles form at the corners of her eyes as she lets out a short giggle.
He’s the cutest.
“Of course,”
He had been fairly certain she was talking about him, but he still feels a little relieved hearing her confirm it.
“There’s no one else for me,” She adds, reaching a hand up to his jaw, laying her palm there softly.  The pad of her thumb sweetly brushed over his skin.  “Besides, I’ve never had a guy have a wet dream about me before, so I figured I’d give ‘ya a chance, right?”
Megumi’s sweet expression soured in an instant, his brows furrowing and his lips pulling into a deep frown.  (y/n’s) laughing like it’s oh so funny, and he’s contemplating dropping her and walking away.
(He’d have to be pretty stupid to do such a thing, but the thought does cross his mind)
“I fucking knew he told you” He grumbled bitterly.
(y/n) shrugs, her free hand reaching up so that her fingers could gently rub the knot away from his brows.
“He meant well,” She hums.  “Don’t be too upset”
Megumi rolls his eyes.  Says the one who isn’t humiliated.
“Would it help if I told you about the dreams I’ve had?” She asks, making his eyes dart back to hers, wide and curious.
He thinks she’s joking at first, but her expression is genuine.  His mouth moves to tell her yes I would very much like to hear about the dreams you’ve had about me, but his mind is too busy trying to imagine the dirty images that’s played behind her eyelids at night, so no words come out.
(y/n) giggles, and pushes off of his shoulders so that he would let her go.  She’s shorter than him again as she lands on her feet, but she quickly reaches on the tips of her toes to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth.
“If you wanna come with me to my room I’ll tell you all about ‘em” She says with a grin.
Megumi blinks, his lips parted as he stares down at her.  (y/n) loves her newfound power of stunning him to silence.
She shrugs casually, and turns around, about to head out of the library without another word.  But just as she’s about to take a step, two arms wrap around her middle, and she’s lifted off the ground, with her back pressed to his chest.  A yelp escapes her before a string of delighted giggles.
“Well let’s go there, then!” Megumi cheers, racing towards the library’s doors.
(y/n) pretends to fight him to let her free, but her hands remain gripped to his forearms, not a single part of her wanting him to let go. ___
bonus:
“So…” Megumi drawls, a bit out of breath as he lays on his back, the comforter on (y/n’s) bed tangled around his legs.  “What exactly did Yuuji tell you?”
(y/n) laughs at the memory that feels like it was forever ago but it had only happened that morning.
He lifts his head to see her from where her head was at the end of the bed.  She’s too exhausted to crane her neck to look back at him.
“He was just excited to tell us that he had some juicy gossip, and then said it wasn’t his place to actually tell us” She recalled for him.
Megumi’s ears focus on only one word, his eyes widening as his heart plummets to his stomach in embarrassment.
(y/n) musters up what little energy she could to prop herself on her elbows so she could amuse herself with the pale expression on his face.
“Need some water?” She teases, grinning like the Cheshire Cat.  “You drank all of mine on break three, so you’ll have to go get more”
That brings some color back to his cheeks.
“So… everyone’s gonna know?” He mutters to himself.
If Nobara knew, everyone knew.
“Oh, they already do,” (y/n) confirms his newfound fear casually, as if she was telling him the weather.  “Who do you think told me to come seduce you?”
She wiggles her eyebrows at him playfully, while Megumi groans and falls back onto her pillows, covering his hot face with his hands.
He wasn’t going to hear the end of this. ___

It was the type of text you had gotten more than used to receiving from him over the past few months, smirking down at your phone as you waited for the elevator in his building.
“Need you so bad rn. Come over?❤”
The heart was a new addition, he must be feeling particularly needy today, you thought to yourself as the elevator doors finally opened.
Since the two of you had established this new part of your friendship, it was rare for you to go more than four or five days without receiving some variation of the same short message from him.
You were still slightly surprised by his text, seeing as you had only been over the night before, but you weren’t complaining by any means. Though you may have enjoyed pretending that Jungkook was the needier one in your arrangement, if you were completely honest, you were just as affected by him, finding yourself missing him on the nights you didn’t spend together.
When he opened the door, you noticed he looked a little more disheveled than usual, his hair sticking up all over the place, as if he’d been running his hands through it, a habit you knew he did when he was stressed.
“You got here fast.” He noted, letting you into the apartment.
“Well, your text made it sound kinda urgent, didn’t want to leave you waiting too long.” You said, wandering through into the living room, slowing to a stop as you caught sight of the chaotic state of the space, cleaning supplies and laundry scattered around, furniture moved all out of place.
“What happened in here?” You asked, turning back to Jungkook, who was now avoiding your eyes. “Koo?”
“I lied, I didn’t want sex.” He said guiltily, looking up at you. “I need you to help me clean.”
“I-, what?” You blinked at him, unsure if you heard him correctly.
He slumped back against the counter, looking stressed as he ran his hand through his hair again. ”My parents decided to surprise me by announcing they’re coming to visit tomorrow, but I’ve done nothing but sleep since I got home from tour last week, so the house is a fucking mess and everything’s a disaster and I need help, please.” He pleaded, staring at you.
You immediately began pulling your coat back on, turning back towards the door. “You’re unbelievable.”
“Y/n, please!” He quickly followed after you, catching your sleeve. “I’ll do anything you want! I’ll buy you dinner, I’ll rub your back, I’ll even let you pick what we watch for a month!”
You paused, turning to look back at him with a raised brow. “Even if I want to re-watch ‘Our Beloved Summer’ for a third time?”
He bit lip, trying to fight back a pained grimace before nodding slowly. “Whatever you want.”
You stared at him for a long moment.
“Fine.” You said reluctantly, caving as you saw the genuine desperation in his eyes. You could never say no to him.
“Thank you!” He sang, catching you in a tight hug and spinning you around in a circle. “I promise I’ll make it up to you!”
“Yeah, whatever,” You grumbled as he set you back on your feet. “Where do we start?”
“Laundry room?” He offered. “It’s mostly done, I just need to vacuum behind the machines.”
Do you really think your mom’s gonna look back there?” You raised a brow, following him down the hall.
“She’s very thorough.” He said seriously.
“Fair enough.” You shrugged. “I don’t quite see why I’m necessary for this part though?”
“I was afraid if I tried to clean back there by myself, I’d slip and get stuck or die.”
“So you want me to slip and die behind your washer instead?” You shot him an accusatory look.
“No! I’ll hold onto you and keep you safe,” He smiled reassuringly. “You know, like the buddy system.”
“I thought the buddy system was for camping so you didn’t get lost or eaten by bears?”
“It’s a multi-purpose system!” He said, his earlier agitation starting to flare up again at your teasing. “Are you gonna help me or not?”
“Yeah, I’ll do it, pass me the vacuum.” You relented, boosting yourself up on top of the dryer.
He held onto your hips to keep you balanced as you cleaned, his mind beginning to wander as he stared at your ass, his fingers starting to slowly knead your flesh absent-mindedly.
“Koo.” You warned, shooting him a quick look.
“Right, sorry.” He snapped back to attention, ceasing his movements and focusing back on the task at hand.
You finished up quickly, passing the vacuum attachment back to him and letting him help you down.
“Thank you.” He said.
“You’re welcome.” You answered, looking around expectantly. “What’s next?”
The apartment wasn’t nearly as bad of a mess as he claimed it to be, but it still took both of you several hours of work to get everything back in order, finishing off with laundry and changing all the bedding.
“Why are these sticky?!” You asked, mildly horrified as you helped him strip the sheets off his bed.
“Relax, it’s just caramel sauce.” He said.
You looked up at him confused. “We didn’t use-?”
“No no, that was just me,” He explained quickly. “I had ice cream last night.”
“Without me?!” You said, clutching your chest in feign hurt, making him roll his eyes as he let out a huff of laughter.
“I’ll add that to the list of things I need to make up for, okay?” He said.
“Eh, it’s better than where my mind went.” You said, only half joking as you grabbed the fresh sheets from him and turned back to the bed. “Almost thought you were fucking around behind my back for a second there.”
Facing away from him, you missed the way his expression suddenly turned serious as he looked at you. “I would never.”
It was strange, despite the supposedly ‘casual’ nature of your arrangement, you both found yourselves making little comments like that, words and exchanges that sounded a lot more like things said between a committed couple, rather than just two friends helping each other out till you found something more serious.
“Alright, I think that’s everything.” You said, snapping him out of his thoughts. You had finished making up the bed, even turning down the covers for him.
“Thank you, y/n.” He said gratefully. “I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”
“Probably called Hobi.” You smirked, making him snort.
“Now, you promised me food, and if you lie to me twice in the same day, I’m dumping your ass.” You said, earning another laugh from him.
“Alright, whatever you want, just like I said.” He said, leaning down to give you a quick kiss.
“Although, if you wanted, I could make up for my false pretenses from earlier in a different way?” He offered, eyes darkening slightly as his hands drifted over your hips
You lightly shoved his hands away. “Not a chance, Loverboy, I’m way too tired now. You’ll have to try and ‘make it up to me’ some other time.”
“How about tomorrow?” He said, eyes twinkling mischievously, looping his arms around your waist instead to keep you close.
“I thought your parents were coming over tomorrow?” You reminded, raising a brow at him.
“You could come over after.” He suggested. “Hell, you could even come to dinner with us, my parents like getting to meet my friends.”
“Friends?” You looked up at him skeptically.
“Yeah, what?” He laughed, squeezing you lightly.
“Do you let your other friends suck your di-?”
“They don’t need to know the details of our relationship!” He said quickly, his face flushing slightly, making you snicker. “You’re still my friend, one of my best friends actually.” He added, in a soft tone.
The way he said it made your heart twist in a weird way, though you didn’t quite understand why.
“So?” He asked, staring down at you hopefully. “Will you come?”
You chewed your lip, considering. It felt like a really big commitment to meet his family, regardless of what your relationship was, but you tell it would mean a lot to him if you said yes.
“I’ll think about it.” You said finally.
He beamed.
“Thank you!” He said, leaning in to kiss you again, his lips lingering longer this time, tracing over yours lightly, making you shiver.
You pressed closer to him, hooking your arms around his neck as you tilted your head to deepen the kiss, letting your tongue delve into his mouth as his hands grip on your waist tightened.
When you pulled back for air, his pupils were blown wide, eyes almost black as he stared down at you, breathing heavily.
“Take your shirt off.” You ordered, your breaths equally unsteady.
“But I thought you said-?”
“I changed my mind.” You cut him off, tugging at the fabric impatiently. “Shirt off, now.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”

You didn’t know what to think of him as he sat from afar, playing checkers with himself. It was both confusing and intriguing, and it pulled you closer towards him. Footsteps quiet and calculated.
If you were anything— it was stealthy. You could come and go as if you were never there, undetected like a ghost. Perhaps that’s how you got the nickname.
The Ghost.
His pale skin glowed, the porcelain like surface perfect— no flaws to be seen. The intricate markings among his face, complimenting the dark purple bags under his eyes. In an odd way— he was quite beautiful. Too beautiful to be a curse.
Almost as if he sensed you, his head slowly raised from the board and his eyes locked with yours.
The sudden realization that you had been caught watching— you felt glued to your spot. Staying as incredibly still— hoping you’d blend in with your environment. But at last, his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes squinted upon your watchful gaze.
You were prepared to exorcize him, energy pulsing beneath your palms— the buzzing sensation itching to release. With calculated steps, you inched closer to the man.
Your first step had his eyes squinting even more, his expression mostly unchanging.
Why was I approaching this curse? I should exorcize it immediately— no questions. You thought.
Keeping your steps even and slow— you had made it closer to him. Standing a good ten feet away. Looking into his eyes, now that you were closer— you were shocked to find such emotion within them.
You weren’t even sure if he knew how expressive his eyes were.
Swallowing nervously all of a sudden, you raised your chin— false confidence.
“You know why I’m here.” You started.
Somewhere in the back of your mind wondered why you were creating small talk with something you were meant to exorcize. Maybe it was simply a way to make exorcising curses more interesting— or perhaps it was the way he didn’t show any signs to fight.
The man looked you up and down, his face stuck on a neutral— almost bored expression. But his eyes, they spoke for him.
“Guess I do.” He responded, his voice low and gravelly.
You felt an awkward tug at your chest— unsure of what more to say. Unsure if you should exorcize him without another word.
“Just like that? Thought you’d at least put up a fight.” You wondered out loud.
Your words had the man tilting his head, the checkers forgotten below him as he stood suddenly. His height making itself know, the distinct difference— that if he were to approach you now— he’d be towering over you.
“Why bother… at last I’ll be with my brothers.” He revealed.
His words were shocking, very human of him. It had your chest aching with hurt. Hurt for him.
“Your… your brothers?” You wondered, already having a suspicion.
The man closed his eyes for a moment before opening them to stare you down. His jaw set, his eyes furious but broken.
“They’re dead, because of your friends.” He spoke carefully.
Your heart throbbed painfully in your chest, the shame filling your body as you began to beat yourself up for something you didn’t do. But you couldn’t help but feel at fault.
The man noticed the twitch in her brow, the way her mouth turned down from his words. Her reaction was intriguing to him— wondering why she was taking so long to end him once and for all.
Loss was something you knew well— an unfortunate feeling that lingered amongst your entire life. It was only natural to feel for others that had to experience it as well. Which was why you found yourself speaking your next words to him.
“I’m sorry.”
The man stared at you in confusion, studying your expression. He was slightly disgusted to find your reaction genuine. But why?
“Wh-what…” He trailed off.
You closed your hands into fists, trying to restrain the energy you had previously built up. Desperate to bury it within you until it deem useful.
“Your brothers. I’m sorry you had to lose them.” You spoke quietly, unsure if you had a place to be sorry for him.
His eyes narrowed at you, his own hands tightening into fists now. But as you gazed upon him, and took in his body language— you still could not find any aggression.
Meanwhile, the man was confused why you— a sorcerer— was sending him your condolences. Was it confusion he felt within him, or was it appreciation?
That would be twisted— apologizing for something your friends were at fault of. He wanted to think, but couldn’t find it in himself to.
He could only nod in thanks, choosing he to stay silent as he got lost in his own thoughts. All surrounding you.
Suddenly, the guilt sensation began to wash over you in such a way you felt physically dirty. Your skin itched— your hands clammy as you kept them squeezed tight. The realization of what you were about to do— to someone who was mourning. Someone who clearly wasn’t exactly a curse. It was only the same reminder you’d get after every mission.
Who was the real monster?
You shivered with the thought that echoed loudly within you, and you held an opened hand to your chest. In hopes your heart would slow.
The man just watched, his eyes drinking in the scene before him. Wondering why you were in such a distraught state all of a sudden. It was the concern that bubbled within him, that had him clenching his jaw.
You turned and began to walk away, not uttering another word as you just needed to escape to hiding.
“Where are you going…” He muttered, loud enough for you to hear.
He knew you did, with how your body tensed and slowed their steps. Luckily, you turned to the side, able to look him in the eye.
“Forget that this ever happened. I never saw you, you never saw me.” You explained, voice shaky.
The man looked at you in confusion, in disbelief that you were sparing him— letting him live another day. That same foreign feeling washes through him, and suddenly his gaze was softening.
“I don’t understand.” He wondered out loud again.
You shook your head, forcing a smile that didn’t reach your eyes.
“You don’t need to.” You said lately, before turning away from him again.
This time you didn’t turn back around, and you kept walking with hurried steps until you found yourself crouched in a dark alley. Allowing the guilt to finally begin to eat away at you.
A part of you enjoyed this hell— a part of you feeling like you deserved such pain.
Meanwhile, Choso was trying to understand your reaction. He was hellbent on figuring out why you left, allowing him to live.
What a strange girl you are. He thought.
The small interaction between you and the man replayed in your mind. Causing you to be more distracted than usual, causing you to doubt your abilities— your purpose as a sorcerer. As of lately, it didn’t feel right. Exorcising curses didn’t feel satisfying.
Your mind wasn’t in the right place, and that’s how you ended up crawling away from the destruction of the battle. Bleeding out as you had let the curse you just exorcised, get the jump on you.
With agonizing pain, you eventually crawled your way far enough from the damage. Letting your form lean back against a brick wall. It was then you could assess yourself.
The open wound on your side was the most painful, the harsh throbbing— the sensation of the blood oozing out. It had you sweating, chest rising and falling quickly in attempts to stay conscious. You could feel the left side of your face start to burn, raising fingers to trace the outline of a cut. Starting from just above your eyebrow, dipping straight through the hairs and stopping just near your eye.
You hissed as your fingers pressed too hard on a tender spot.
Your body felt weak, exhausted as it racked up all the minor cuts and bruises— the weight of your injuries causing your eyes to droop.
This was it? Where was my phone? I should probably call for help. You thought helplessly.
Through all the pain, the questions that flew through your mind— one thought stuck out the most.
Maybe I deserved to die.
It was a sick way to be thinking, knowing how selfish it would be to give up now. People needed saving, they needed your help. But it felt impossible to find strength— any strength to keep your eyes open.
Your hand stayed tightly pressed against the wound on your side, desperate to keep the blood from oozing for however long you could. Your eyes were unfocused and staring at the ground.
There was no worse way to die, than dying alone.
Before you could drown in that thought, footsteps were heard approaching. Immediately you tensed up, glancing up quickly at your attacker.
Your breath got caught in your throat at the sight of… him again.
The same man who had taken up your headspace.
During your shock at seeing him, Choso gave himself a moment to study you. You were obviously hurt and in pain, your body battered to a pulp. He couldn’t understand why he felt so bad for you— someone who almost killed him.
You couldn’t help but stay tense, feeling like a cornered animal— waiting for your predator to attack. But as before, the man made no indication that he was going to hurt you. Instead, he squatted down in front of you— not missing the way you flinched back at his sudden closeness.
“You’re hurt.” He stated, as if it wasn’t obvious.
You couldn’t find it in yourself for a snarky comeback, not when you felt this defeated.
“W-why? What are yo- I—”
“You’re hurt, allow me to help you.” He interrupted your babbling.
Your eyes were painted in confusion, your features twisting into uncertainty. Everything about this didn’t feel right, you should’ve pushed him away and allow yourself to die instead. But you couldn’t control the way your body relaxed, your head bowing in submission.
“My name is Choso. What’s yours?” He asked, his hands ripping a part of your jacket off, creating a long bandage like strand.
You swallowed, taking a deep breath in before responding.
“I-It’s (Y/n).” You rasped out, the taste of iron coating your tongue suddenly.
Choso snuck a quick glance to you at the reveal of your name. (Y/n)… he quickly realized he liked it.
He gently snuck the jacket strand behind the dip of your lower back, tying it tightly around your wound. The sensation had you whining, teeth digging into your bottom lip as you tried to conceal your cries. The pain had washed over your body with such intensity, you felt like you were going to faint.
“Please, keep your eyes open.” He instructed, moving his attention from your side to the cut on your face.
Without realizing it, he was letting his fingers caress around the wound. You gasped at the feeling, the pads of his fingers rough in texture— but he brushed over your skin with such delicacy.
“Why are you helping m-me?” You rasped out, coughing from the tightness of your lungs.
Choso let his eyes drop from your cut to your eyes, gazing into yours with confusion. Mainly because he wasn’t quite sure why he was helping you— he just knew he had to.
“I don’t know.” He answered truthfully.
You furrowed your brows, but couldn’t dwell on his words too long— not when your body seized and twitched for a moment. This particular wave of pain hitting you harder than the rest.
Choso watched you with an intensity in his eyes, and he almost grew distracted by another unfamiliar sensation in his chest. Concern? For this sorcerer?
“I don’t deserve your help… but thank you.” You whispered, body slowly relaxing after the pain subsided for now.
“You spared me. Call this me, returning the favor.” He stated.
Although, he wasn’t sure if that was the main reason why he was saving you.
You attempted to shoot him a weak smile, but when he noticed a drop of blood escaping from the corner of your lips— he couldn’t find it in himself to return the gesture.
“Well… I appreciate it.” You mumbled out.
Choso could sense you losing consciousness, and he knew he had to get you more medical attention. He wasn’t going to let you die here— not today.
As your eyes finally dropped, your body slumping with fatigue— Choso didn’t waste another second. He scooped up your fragile form, carrying you bridal style to find some help.
His steps were quick and rushed, the sight of you laying in his arms causing another sensation to bloom in his chest. You looked so peaceful. So… pretty— like an angel. He found it odd for him to think such things.
All he knew was that the next thought he had, was leaving him the most confused he’d ever been.
He never wanted to let you out of his sight again.

So this is the toxic!max fic I mentioned and uh yeah this isn’t super like toxic but it’s something. Also, I will not apologize for inserting found family into this fic.

“What?” Max presses his lips together, jaw twitching and he’s happy that P isn’t here, but with Daniil’s parents. “Things haven’t been good for us in awhile.” Maybe ever. He thinks and nearly winces, because they had been good in the beginning. But things had changed halfway through the 2021 season and it had only gotten worse as the weeks and months went on. “Kelly, it is unfair to you for me to pretend that I want to be with you anymore.” He nearly says that once the season was over he was already planning on breaking up with her, but manages to hold his tongue. She’s looking at him in that way that he hates, that’s caused arguments because it reminds him of his father. “What do you want me to tell P?” He can’t help the sigh of relief that escapes him at her easy acceptance. “Tell her that I will always love her and that if she ever wants to talk to me, she can call and I’ll do my best to answer.” “Okay.” Her voice is quiet and she looks around his apartment. “There shouldn’t be much here, but what you do find, have it shipped to me.” “Of course.”
He watches as Kelly walks towards the front door and maybe he shouldn’t say anything, doesn’t want to give her false hope, but he can’t help it. “Kelly.” She stops, her hand on the door knob ready to turn it. “Thank you for the past few years and all your support.” He sees her shoulders move as she sighs. “Your welcome, Max.” And then she turns the handle and walks out of his apartment.
He watches the door for a moment, feeling like if he looks away, suddenly she’ll be back. But the handle doesn’t turn and he’s spinning around to move to the couch where he had thrown his phone when Kelly had unexpectedly come here.
His thumb quickly moves across the screen, opening his last text message thread and sending a simple text.
I broke up with her.
It stares up at him and three dots appear along with those little check marks and he can’t help but smile. And god if the media could see him now, smiling after just breaking up with his girlfriend of so long, they’d use this as some sort of proof that he is the devil.
And now what?
His smile grows and his thumb moves again.
And now I come to you.
“You know, I thought you athletes had to train. Keep fit for the season.” She teases as he watches her move around her small kitchen. “I’ve barely been here a day and you’re kicking me out?” She shakes her head at him. “No it’s just I know that China got canceled, but you do have another race soon.” He shrugs, “It’s at the very end of the month. Besides, there's a gym close by. I can go there.” “And did you tell your trainer that you wouldn’t be home so he shouldn’t drop off any food or expect you?” His eyes widened. “Fuck.” He curses, scrambling out of the kitchen and to the bedroom where his phone is, her laughter ringing in his ears.
Calling Brad, he hears the phone ring three times before his trainer picks up. “Hello,” “Hey Brad, uh I’m not home right now. I mean, I’m not in the uh country.” “Did they call you for some testing?” “Uh no. I’m not there either. Just took a bit of a break, so don’t worry about meals or anything.” There’s a bit of silence before Brad speaks again. “Max, is everything alright?” “Yeah, yes. Everything is fine. I just needed a bit of a break. I’ll see you in Milton on the twenty-first, yeah?” “Sure.” “Great.” And Max hangs up the call, feeling a bit like a hurricane.
“You’ve made me go crazy.” He tells her when he sees her standing in the door of the bedroom, raising an arm when she doesn’t move. She immediately moves into his space, wrapping her arms around his waist, as his arm wraps around her shoulders, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Have I?” “Yes. Meeting you has made me crazy.” “Do you regret it?” “No.” The answer is swift and firm, because no he could never regret it.
So much had changed since he had seen her for the first time just barely two weeks ago. Most of those changes happened in the past forty-eight hours. But he liked those changes.
He liked how he felt ever since she first looked at him, shook his hand, said his name. Liked how she made him smile and laugh. Maybe it was fucked but he liked how in Austrailia when he won and he nearly kissed her at the afterparty, she had to press her hand on his chest and hold him back. Remind him that he had a girlfriend. Had to stop him from pulling out his phone to call her and break up with her right then and there. Liked that despite that, she had taken his unlocked phone, added her number and told him to text her. Pressed her lips to his cheek and let the scent of her bury itself in his brain. He liked that when he first texted her asking when he could see her again, she hadn’t asked who, just told him they could talk when he was single. Liked that barely a day later he had texted her telling her he was and now he was here, with her, in her home.
Max loved however, her. The way she kissed him when he showed up at her doorstep. The then slight shyness she had over her giving him her number and her text, though there was no guilt or apology to be found in her words. Just more disbelief that she had done so. How she smelled, her house smelled. The way she sat, how her fingers brushed over his skin. How passionate she was about her job, about the music she listened to, and the candle that sat beside her bathtub.
And so it comes out. “I love you.”
He shouldn’t be saying it. People would and will call him crazy for it, but he knows himself. He knows what he’s feeling. And he loves her. Loves this woman that he hasn’t even known for a month. And fuck, people like to talk about how love at first sight doesn’t exist and you don’t know when someone is the one immediately or so soon after meeting them, but that isn’t true. There are outliers. He’s got a cousin that married her husband barely a year after dating him and they are happier than any couple he’s ever seen. One of the guys he grew up karting with met his girlfriend and a month later they were moving in together. He thinks they have three kids or maybe it’s four now.
And she, she feels like he was made for her and only her.
“I love you too.” The words aren’t whispered, no shame or doubt on them. Just certainty and he doesn’t know that she’s thinking the same thing. That she was made just for him.
She doesn’t come to the next race no matter how much he begs. Even when he’s about to run late for his flight back to the factory, head buried her neck as he pleads with her to come. But she only laughs, brushing her fingers through his hair.
“You just barely made a statement about no longer being with Kelly.” And he kind of hates that there’s no distaste in her voice about him having a girlfriend when they met. He knows that if she had been seeing someone his blood would be boiling everytime his name got brought up or even hinted at. “Give it a bit to settle.” He straightens with a bit of frown, “I won’t hide you.” She laughs, eyes lighting up and it makes him smile. “I’m not asking you too. Just for patience. I don’t want your PR team to end up hating me.” “Miami, then?” She shakes her head, pushing him away. “You have a plane to catch, Max.” “Imola?” He asks, backing up. Eyes widening a bit when she shakes her head again. “Monaco?” “Max!” And she’s laughing again. “Spain?” And this time she nods her head and he groans, picking up his duffel bag that’s been sitting by the door for probably thirty minutes now. “That is so fair away. You will make me wait that long?” “Oh, poor baby. Having to wait just a little over a month.” He pokes his bottom lip out, unashamed to pout. Because yes, not having her with him for the next four races sounded like torture. He had only gotten a taste of what her support was like in Australia. He wanted all of it now.
She must see that on his face because her smile turns fond, no more teasing and she’s capturing his lips in a quick kiss. “It will go by faster than you think, Max. And it gives me enough time to get everything situated so I can really be comfortable working from anywhere in the world.” “So, you’ll join me for the rest of the season?” “Yes.” He grins, pressing their lips together once, then twice. “If it does not go by fast like you say,” She stops him before he can continue. “Go, Max, it will. And I’m always a call away.”
The press eagerly awaits Max’s arrival in Baku. Hoping to see the two time world champion, downtrodden, miserable, regretful. Instead they get an even better story. He arrives at the track on the phone laughing, smile wide and body relaxed. It wasn’t the image of a man who had just separated from his girlfriend of a few years. It was the image of a man happier than he ever had been before.
They all want to ask questions, want to ask who he’s talking to, what or who perhaps has him smiling. Why did he and Kelly break up? Did he break up with her? Did she with him? But none of them are willing to risk the odd relationship that Red Bull has with the press, kind even generous until you cross the line.
“No more races without you.” He murmurs when she arrives at his hotel in Spain, his breath causing goosebumps to appear on her neck. “No more.” She agrees, before pulling slightly away, just so they can look at each other. “Hi.” She greets. He smiles at her. “Hi.” “Congrats on Monaco.” He huffs, but something warm fills him with her words. “You said that on the phone.” “That was on the phone.” She teases, before lifting her arms to loop them around his neck. “Proud of you, Max.” He doesn’t know how to respond to that, to how sincere her words are, so he presses their lips together.
“I love you.” She breathes when they break apart, panting slightly with shiny and swollen lips. “I love you too.”
The camera's shuttering intensifies as soon as Max’s car that he was given for the race weekend arrives at the track on Saturday. And it only gets worse when instead of just locking the car and starting his walk to the red bull garage, he rounds to the other side, opening the passenger door and helping a woman get out.
This woman is not one that any of them recognize. She is not Max’s mother or sister. She is not Kelly or some sort of model, super, instagram, or swimsuit. And even better they don’t recognize this Max. Who as soon as she is out of the car, purse in hands, shuts the door for her, which is fairly typical for him. But what is not is the way he presses his lips to hers for a quick kiss, before snaking an arm around her waist, a sort of love sick smile on his face as they begin the walk.
“I can’t believe you wanted me to come to one of these things earlier.” She murmurs to him, giving a wave to all the cameras. If she was going to do this, be with Max, she’d have to get used to them and quickly. “I still wish you had.” He murmurs back, squeezing her waist and turning his head to press his nose quickly to the top of her head. “Did you tell anyone about me or that I was coming?” She asks, though she already has a feeling what the answer is as they move further into the paddock and sees some of the drivers do double takes. He smirks, “now why would I do that?” She shakes her head, “your PR team is going to kill you and I’m going to watch.” Her eyes then catch on a slightly familiar man who’s looking at Max with murder in his eyes and she amends her statement. “Daniel is going to kill you and I’m going to watch.” Max pales slightly as he takes a look at the man she only knows from his stories and a few brief clips she’s seen on youtube.
As soon as they enter Red Bull’s hospitality for the weekend, Daniel pounces. Dragging Max and her since Max refuses to let go of her, to Max’s drivers room.
When the door closes, Daniel shoves Max though she expects more gently than he normally would due to her and stands in front of the door, hands on his hips, anger and disappointment warring on his face.
“Max.” “Daniel.” He replies, though it's a bit meek and she can’t help but give his hand a quick squeeze before letting go and stepping away. Not returning to his side despite the offended and hurt look he gives her. She shakes her head. “I told you that you could tell people.”
Daniel turns to look at her, giving her a quick grin. “I like you.” He declares before turning back to Max, grin gone.
“Seriously Max. First there was Kelly and you breaking up, which I found out through social media and you still haven’t told me how that whole thing went down.” She winces at the exasperation in Daniel’s voice. She knew from Max how close they were, considering themselves brothers just about and she couldn’t imagine how Daniel felt learning about Max’s breakup from social media and not the man himself.
“And now this!” He waves his hands around between her and Max. “I’m sure you're great.” He tells her quickly and she gives him a sheepish smile. “I mean really Max. What gives?” Max stares at the older man, unsure of what exactly to say to him.
It wasn’t like he didn’t think the people he was closest to weren’t going to have a reaction to the news of his breakup and now new relationship. It’s just that besides Daniel none of them had really reached out wanting to know what happened because they were all right with not knowing. They knew that if Max wanted to talk about it with them, he would. But Daniel was different.
He talked to Daniel about everything. A side effect of the older man having to deal with him as a teammate for those few years when he was so young and trying to really figure himself out. They had developed a different kind of relationship. One where he knew that he could go to Daniel with anything and everything and receive no judgment, only support. Daniel to him was a weird cross of a friend, brother, and father.
“I’m sorry.” He apologizes and his hands tighten into fists a little. Always unsure of himself when apologizing. “I should have called. Told you, explained what happened.” He hesitates, but knows that Daniel deserves the truth. “I nearly did.” And wasn’t that the truth. There were many times he nearly called or texted Daniel to tell him about the stunning girl he saw, then met, then nearly kissed, then got together with. But he hadn’t. He knew if he told Daniel, he’d end up telling everyone. Daniel stares at him, face giving away nothing, making him fidget, before he sighs and gives Max a smile. “It’s all good mate. You’re a bit of a cunt. But,” he shrugs, grinning. “You’ve always been like that.” Max lets out a laugh, relaxing at the familiar energy of Daniel. “Yeah, just a bit.”
He turns to look at his girlfriend, who's looking between the two of them with a smile, beckoning her back to his side. Enjoying how she easily fits into his side. “Daniel, this is my girlfriend,” and he knows his voice is lovesick when he says her name with the way Daniel looks at him. “Darling, Daniel.” “It’s nice to meet you, Daniel. Max talks about you a lot.” Daniel’s eyes flicker to Max, expecting some sort of an embarrassment or denial, but the younger man just nods. And that’s good enough for Daniel, who immediately grins at her before pulling her into a hug. “Nice to meet you as well. Max treating you well? I taught him everything he knows.” He tells her with a wink when he releases her. She lets out a small giggle at his words, but nods. “Very well. And thank you for your services.” She winks, making Daniel laugh.
“Oh, you are amazing. Now, tell me how this happened and what happened with Kelly.” He says gesturing between the two of them, sitting on the folding chair in the room, while they sit on the couch. “They are very much connected.” She laughs, before patting Max on the arm and sitting back fully.
“Oh, no.” Max groans, running a hand over his face. Daniel was going to have a fucking laugh. “So, we met a little before the Australian Grand Prix. Nearly had an incident there.” He tilts his head towards her and Daniel nods, understanding what he’s saying. “I actually nearly broke it off there. She managed to stop me however. But when I got home to Monaco, I broke up with Kelly then and there. Was already planning on doing it at the end of the season.” Daniel nods. “You mentioned that before.” “Yeah.” Max sighs, before telling him the rest.
Daniel stares at him for a moment after he's done before shaking his head, with a sort of breathless laugh. “Only you, Max. Only you. I’m happy for you though.” Max smiles at the older man’s easy acceptance. “Thank you.” “PR’s going to kill you for not giving them any warning.” He rolls his eyes, she had been telling him the same thing. “They won’t do anything. Besides, didn't they want me to be more personable?” “Don’t think this is what they meant or had in mind.” She tells him. “Probably hoping you’d vlog. Do what Charles and Lando do.” His nose wrinkles at the idea, making her and Daniel laugh.
“You’re good for him.” Daniel murmurs as they watch qualifying. She turns her head a little, still keeping most of her focus on the track. “Think so?” “Know so.” He corrects, taking a moment to flash her a smile. “Max and Kelly,” he sighs. “They had a lot of issues.” She says for him. “Wanted different things or the same things but not at the same time.” “Yeah,” the older man breathes, feeling at ease with how much she knows. “She made him happy at first ya know? But you,” he pauses to shake his head. “You make him into the person I think he would’ve been without Jos. Relaxed, at ease, happy.” His voice is a little quieter with the last word and she has to blink so she doesn’t start to cry. “I want him to be happy. And I know we fell into this fast, but Max.” She sighs, feeling a smile stretch across her lips as her heart flutters in her chest all at his name, at the thought of him. “I was made for him.” Daniel chuckles, taking in the infatuated, lovesick, expression on her face. It was the same look he had seen earlier on Max. It was nice to see that it really did go both ways. “There might be some fuss around it, but it’ll die down eventually.” He hesitates not wanting his next words to seem to much, but thinks fuck it. They went to the extremes here, and she’d have to get used to it fast with Max, if she wasn’t already. “I’ll message a few drivers that I know will support you and Max. We’ll have your guys back with the media or anyone else.” His support and approval make her reach out, squeezing his forearm for a few seconds. “Thank you, Daniel. It means the world to me.”

what’s cap. price's reaction to you finally being pregnant after you both had been struggling the past year to actually conceive? you both had been wanting to have a baby together, but it didn’t work out well in your favor until poof! a sudden miracle.

[feels so short.. i hate it.]
a/n: here’s a smaller little one shot that sort of invaded my mind. i’m running out of ideas and am running on the comfort of pregnant!reader, especially where the hope of fertility had started to be lost :’) any requests are completely welcome! this is just quick n cute.
Tumblr media
You're kneeling down on the bathroom floor, your legs lay off to the side as your head hangs low, your eyes wide with shrunken pupils.
Accompanied by trembling fingers, you pick the stick up and off the floor, blinking away the tears stinging your eyes and blurring your vision.
It was a pregnancy test.
A choked sob leaves your throat watching the one faint pink mark turn into two faint pink marks.
Positive.
You were pregnant. You were having John’s baby. You both had been wanting one for the past year, and even after the several doctor appointments addressing the unlikelihood of fertility for the two of you, it happened.
“Oh my god…” your lips quiver as you smile.
Even after all the tears and the false hope, it happened.
Rather than picturing living off rich and bubbly champagne in a house with a crystal chandelier and natural stone flooring, you pictured raising a family with your husband.
You pictured walking along a beachside shore, holding your sleeping baby against your chest with his hand in yours.
John Price was your biggest supporter, showing you nothing but love and affection upon you both finding out the chances of having a baby was close to impossible.
He held you against him and palmed his hand in your hair, pressing kisses to your cheeks and the sides of your nose as you shivered, holding back your sobs.
John sat beside you all night as you cried, unable to get a blink of sleep until eight in the morning as he explained how he’d never leave you just because you weren’t able to conceive his offspring. That he loved you and prized you nonetheless.
Your hands fling open the cabinets under your side of the sink and you rummage through medical supplies and wash rags stacked inside, flinging items off into the corner and creating a mess of you and your husband’s bathroom until you find a small box.
You pick up one of the sticks, a sigh of relief leaving your lips as you grip the counter top above you and lift yourself up.
“Please,” you whisper to yourself as you sit yourself on the toilet and thumb down your black panties and wiggle them off to ring around your ankles. You lean forward as you hold the test stick underneath you.
. . .
You hold up the two tests, both holding the same symbol, and yet you still debate driving down to the nearest drug store to purchase another box, but instead you just leave the messy bathroom and into your bedroom.
Usually, you wouldn’t call John while he’s at work, but you knew he wasn’t on deployment, so you pick up your phone off the marshmallow sherpa blanket and punch in your passcode.
When his contact is pulled up, you call him and press the phone against your ear, seating yourself on the edge of the bed.
It rings for a few moments.
John had been in a debriefing meeting when you called, but he took in consideration that it was important, and swiped it over to answer the call after he stepped into a corner within the room, asking for quiet from the Task Force.
“John?” your voice croaks on the other line, he’s quick to notice.
“Love? Wh’s the matter?” Genuine concern was as thick as honey on his tongue. “Did somethin’ bad happen?”
You run a hand through your hair, sniffling softly. “God—god, no. Everything’s fine.”
There’s a pause.
“Actually—christ, I’m sorry if I was botherin’, I just…” you bite your lip and rub your sweaty forehead with the palm of your hand.
“I know y’wouldn’t call me if it weren’t important.” Your husband says calmly. “J’s tell me wha’s on y’mind, we’ll discuss it after my meeting.”
Your heart practically sunk in your chest at his words. “Meeting?” You repeat.
“Don’t.” He sighs. “I promise, it’s fine. Talk t’me, honey.”
Soap nudges Gaz with his elbow. “Tis’ the lad’s woman. Pretty lass, ‘ll tell ye that.” His knee is bouncing with his other leg draped on top.
Price turns his head a moment, eyes staring him down before he turns and brings focus back to his phone call with you.
You take a sharp inhale, swallowing your nerves into the pit of your stomach as you lick over your dry lips.
“John, I’m—…I’m pregnant.” you manage to choke out through happy tears.
His muscles tense and his eyes widen at your words. If he wasn’t surrounded by his coworkers, he swore his eyes would be watering to the brim—although he did feel them stinging as he refused to allow himself to break tears.
“Y’serious, love?” His voice cracks a little. It makes your heart flutter to be able to hear the smile in his voice from behind the cell phone.
“So serious,” you reply in a sharp whisper. “We’re having a baby, John.”
He says your name lovingly and you feel weak at the knees even hearing it just over the phone.
Your hand grips the hem of your grey tank top before you press a hand against your belly, lifting your head up into the air to take in the moment. “God, I wish you were here right now.”
That breaks him. He’s got tears in his eyes now as he feels his emotions bubble in his throat, a hand dragging up to pinch the skin on the bridge of his nose.
“I..I know, love, I know. Me too.” He manages to choke out. “Do you—“
You softly shush him through the phone. You knew you were keeping him from something important—it was a miracle altogether that you got his attention pulled from his meeting in the first place.
“Cap?” Ghost raises a brow under his balaclava watching the man’s shoulders tense up.
“We’ll discuss after the debriefing, alright? Love you,” you hum.
“Wa—“ he raises his voice a bit higher than the prior whisper he’d been committing to, though he’s paused in his speech at the sound of the disconnecting signal coming from his phone.
You immediately have your back meet the comfort of your bed, grabbing a pillow to clutch to your chest as you roll around and kick your feet, the long-awaited feeling of happiness causing your adrenaline to rush through your chest.
He takes it off his ear to look at the “call ended screen”, the profile picture of you—in your heart-shaped sunglasses—both at the beach with Price’s lips against your cheek causing the rotting smile plastered on his face to stretch farther.
“Captain.” Soap calls out, confusion being evident in his tone as he slightly raises himself up from his chair, palms flat on the long conference table that took up most of the office.
Price turns around and pinches his hat off, letting it fall onto the table as he walks back towards his seat. Soap sits himself back down.
“M’wife is pregnant.” He lets those words seep beautifully off his tongue. “Pregnant..” he whispers incoherently back to himself.
His Task Force was well aware of the struggles between the two of you when it came to the idea of starting your own family, and they made sure to show their support to their Captain.
So, the news was a shock, but a good one. “About damn time she got knocked up!” Soap exclaims, a shit-eating grin spreading across his maw like the Cheshire cat.
“Congrats,” Gaz smiled softly.
“Atta, Captain. Congratulations, ya old chap.” Simon extends an arm, planting rough yet lighthearted pats against your husband’s back.
Laswell had raised herself out of her seat to gently push the Captain's cheek against her lips. “I’m happy for you, John—We all are.”
Alejandro, who had been included as part of their data capture procedure, lets out a subtle chuckle.
“Ay, cheers, hermano.” He offers the captain a genuine smile. “Just wait until you have to deal with that woman’s meltdowns and cravings—my sister was a nightmare.”
Laswell manages a small laugh. “My wife, too.”
“She’s worth it.” Price simply replies back, still spellbound by the piece of information that was amazingly overwhelming.
“‘Righty then, let’s make this quick,” Simon clears his throat. “Shouldn’t keep him too long, ‘sure he wants to go talk to his wife.”
That he did.
“Affirmative.”

bittersweet ~ a yandere!John Wick x fem!reader sunshine/grump coffee shop AU... Part 38 all chapters
WARNING: NSFW, SEXUAL CONTENT, VIOLENCE, YANDERE SH!T. Plz take care. I luv u all. 😘
38. the honorable thing
“Jonathan.”
“Winston.”
This is the first the hotelier has seen the former assassin leave his room for any kind of sustenance–how telling, that his first stop would be the bar. The older man lowers his voice, leaning in. “Not that it’s any of my business…but did you give that lovely young lady an engagement ring on false pretenses?”
John sighs, looking down into his bourbon. “Not because I don’t want to marry her, Winston.”
“Naturally.”
John growls low in his throat. “I’m just trying to do the honorable thing.”
“Presenting a lady with a ring without intending to actually marry her is certainly honorable.”
“You don’t understand.”
“Enlighten me. Or better yet, enlighten her. If your aim is to fool the Camorra, a believable fiancée she does not make.”
John resists the urge to bang his head on the polished oak bar.
“Or, don’t,” muses Winston. “I’ll finally be able to rent out the rooms next to yours. You have gotten more noise complaints with that woman in the past week than in the entirety of your time staying with us in previous years.”
John does hang his head in his hands at that.
“Winston…”
If Winston didn’t know any better…he would have almost thought the notorious assassin was embarrassed.
“Just fix it, Jonathan. Otherwise, I promise you’ll regret it…”
As Winston walks away John calls after him, “Do you ever get tired of being right all the time, old man?”
Winston chuckles, raises a hand in acknowledgement, and goes to greet another patron.
***
You took the ring off for your training session with Mariko. When you returned to the room hours later, it was gone from the bathroom counter–and your first reaction was relief.
John says nothing about it, when he returns from wherever he’s been. You decide not to either. Maybe the cleaning staff helped themselves.
Good riddance and Enjoy. You’re tired of agonizing about it, and you want things to go back to the way they were before.
He kisses you hello on the cheek, seemingly in a better mood than he has been all week. “Let’s have dinner downstairs tonight,” he proposes. This is news to you. You’ve heard tell of the legendary restaurant of The Continental, and of course the room service has been excellent, but it’s just not the same as dining in.
“Are you sure?” you ask, intrigued but suddenly wary.
“Yes, if sounds good to you?”
“I…would love that,” you admit, suddenly excited. It will mean getting dressed up–the opportunity to see John in one of his evening suits will make the fuss all worth it. Watching him get dressed here has become one of your favorite pastimes; it’s way better than anything on TV.
***
Dinner is everything you’d hoped for and more. The food is out of this world, and better yet, John is sweet to you, tucking you in the shelter under his arm in the booth and speaking softly in your ear between courses. It reminds you a little of that beautiful dinner you had in Venice, before everything…changed.
He looks handsome as the very devil in all black in the low light of the dining room, the reflection of the candle on the table in his dark irises glinting like hellfire. You cannot look away, be he god or devil or something in between, so utterly lost you are to this man.
The wine is very good too, which is only part of the reason you clutch at his arm afterwards, trying not to trip over your new Louboutins and beaded Valentino gown. The sleeves are long, better to hide your bruises from training, but the high slit in your skirt is rather daring, and helpful for movement. He says he wants to show you something, which makes you giggle knowingly, but he doesn’t lead you back up to the room. You take a side corridor, finding it lets out to a narrow dark balcony on the fourth floor. You are in shadow, and you can watch the street below nearly unobserved. The skyscrapers beyond are lit up like birthday cakes. Maybe the city isn’t totally your speed, but it is interesting–for a little while.
You are more than ready to return to your mountain, if ever you can.
But for now, you are happy with the view, and the warmth of John’s arm around you–until he produces that damned little black box again. “Oh, John…”
“Wait, y/n.”
You sigh. “I’ll wear it when they come, ok? If…they ever fucking show up.”
“I want you to wear it tonight.”
“Ugh.”
You turn to go, suddenly exasperated and exhausted, until he pulls you back against the hard line of his body, claiming your mouth in a fiercely probing kiss. With his forehead pressed to yours he says through gritted teeth, “I’m asking you to marry me, y/n.”
Maybe you can blame the wine, but it’s only then that you realize he’s serious. Your fingertips turn to claws, digging into the arms of his suit jacket. The flesh is so solid underneath. This is not a dream.
This is not a drill.
“John?”
If you’re misreading this situation–again–you will lose your fucking mind.
“I love you with every bit of my black, broken heart, y/n. I know I don’t deserve you, but I will spend every second we’re together trying to make up for what I did to you. Will you marry me?”
You don’t answer him immediately, standing on tiptoe to press your lips to his. He’s the one who draws back first, searching your face desperately for the answer to his heartfelt question.
“Yes! Yes, you dummy.” He nips you a little for that, but soon it turns into another long and sultry kiss, your arms flung around his neck, your bare back pressed into the wrought-iron railing under the fury of his ardor.
Later, with his arms around you in a tight embrace, he grumbles, “I’m sorry I made this so painful.”
You laugh a little, at yourself, and him. “How else would we go about anything, John?”
“Very funny.” You kiss his ear, snuggling into the bend of his neck again. The warm, spiced scent of his cologne and his skin is nearly as maddening as his kisses.
“Can we go upstairs now? I have something I want to show you.” He chuckles darkly at this, sucking at the skin of your neck, winning a shudder and your clit singing out with approval.
“What a coincidence, my love.”
You decide you’ll never tire of hearing that.
***
You cannot stop kissing.
You are practically joined at the lips from your little enclave of a balcony, through the halls, and the elevator, and the whole walk to your room. Once you make it through the doorway John presses you up against the door as soon as it’s closed, his hand finding its way through the slit in your dress to cup your ass.
You’d be a liar, if you said you hadn’t thought of that, when you’d selected it earlier.
You do not rip each other’s clothes off though, like in some bosom-buster romance. You both are seeming to savor this closeness together, making out like teenagers, grinding against each other through your nice clothes. You moan as John takes mercy on you, sliding one of his muscled thighs between your legs, smiling against your mouth.
“Wicked man.”
“You love it.”
“I love you. And–I’m going–to ruin your nice suit.”
“Please do.”
What is the American version of noblesse-oblige?
You are so pent up that you nearly cum like that, riding his leg with his lips on your neck, sucking the tender flesh like he means to devour you.
You see scarves in your future. Lots of them.
But then he is moving you across the room, practically picking you up with an arm around your waist, guiding you down onto the couch.
“I messed up again,” he muses, kneeling before you. “I was supposed to get down on my knees for you. Want a redo?” You laugh breathily as he pulls the scrap of silk that passes for panties down your thighs, his lips gravitating to the inside of your knee. He nips you lightly, making you jump.
“I think…this more than makes up for it,” you sigh, as he kisses up the soft flesh of your inner thigh. The ring on your left hand glints in the low light as you run your fingers through his raven hair. The slit in the skirt wins again, making it so easy to sweep the fine fabric aside, leaving you spread bare before him. The hunger in his dark eyes lights your world on fire, and when his tongue touches your clit you think you might see God, or at least, your own version of heaven.
The world is golden-edged, and maybe it’s stupid–but in that moment you feel like nothing bad can touch either of you.

i’d love to see a drabble or a blurb with eddie and the fishnets👀
yet again this one got away from me lol so it's a little long for a drabble but i hope you enjoy !!
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: 18+ mdni, smut, grinding, oral (f receiving), fingering
A/N: takes place in the too much in common realm but isn't a part of the main series !! song is witchy woman by the eagles <3
In a town like Hawkins, there weren’t many occasions that fishnets were suitable for. So, by the time you did eventually wear them again, you had pretty much forgotten about the ‘promise’ you’d made Eddie. He hadn’t, of course.
“Are you sure we have to go, baby?” His fingers clawed at your hips through the thin black dress you wore. “C’mon, let’s just stay in tonight.”
“I didn’t just spend two hours getting ready to ‘stay in’. Plus, I’m excited. I like getting out of town and doing things every now and then, and Steve said this place is supposed to be really cool.” You eyed him in the mirror as you swiped on some lip gloss. The red of his button-up was so deep it was almost black, tucked into his black jeans with the top three buttons undone. Silver chains hung from his belt loops, matching his rings and the barbell in his tongue that had just recently finished healing. Another silver chain sat around his wrist which was soon joined by a hair tie, his boots thudding heavily– even on the carpet– when he grabbed it from your nightstand.
“I don’t know how much of a club person I’m gonna be,” He warned you. “I don’t really dance.”
“Just because you don’t doesn’t mean you can’t,” You pointed out. “And you don’t really have to dance, I’m not expecting you to waltz. You just have to grind on me, and that I know you can do.”
He gave a conceding sigh. “Fine, I guess if it’s an excuse to dry hump you in public we can go.”
“Ever the romantic, Munson.”
The others were already ordering the first round when you got there, the bartender passing out shots until you reached the bar and Steve pushed two more toward you. “Took you guys long enough!” He called over the music.
“Can’t rush perfection, Harrington.” Grabbing the small glass, you passed the other one to Eddie. Knocking it back, you determined it was vodka and not tequila with a grateful nod to Robin. “Are we getting a table?”
“You two grab one, I wanna get another round!” Robin shouted back with enthusiasm.
Flashing her a thumbs up, you grabbed a hold of Eddie’s hand and ushered him toward a big, dimly lit corner booth. “There’s a lot ‘a people here,” He observed as you set your purse on the table.
“I don’t know what you mean.” Drawing him in with your arms around his neck, you hummed, “Just you ‘n me, as far as I’m concerned.”
He palmed at your ass through the silky black satin of your dress as he countered, “The things I’d do to you if it were just you ‘n me would get us arrested if I did them here, babe.”
“Alright, you guys can play grab-ass in a minute, we’re doing more shots!” Steve called as the three of them approached the table, all of them carrying at least one.
“No more for me, I’ve gotta take her home after all this.” Leaning over your shoulder, he prepared to push it back across the table to Steve but was stopped by your hand over his.
“Uh, excuse you. I can drink for two, thank you.” Holding his hands up in surrender, he raised his eyebrows, making a smile crack through your falsely offended expression. He didn’t blink as he watched you swallow down one shot after the other. A clear droplet escaped your mouth, rolling down your neck to disappear between the valley of your breasts and into your dress. He could so vividly imagine how it would taste to follow the intoxicating trail with his tongue.
His gaze was ripped from your chest by the snap of Steve’s fingers, who was giving him a knowing, playfully chastising look. “Could you keep it in your pants a little while longer, Munson?”
You were too engrossed in a conversation with Nancy to pay them any mind as he responded. “Shh, you’re gonna get me in trouble. And I’ll have you know, I have the patience of a saint,” He added unconvincingly.
That finally got your attention, making you let out a little snort. “Oh-kay, babe, if you say so.”
“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?”
“Just c’mon, I’m ready to dance!”
“You mean you’ve drank enough to now?” He scoffed as you dragged him away from the table.
“Yep!” The music vibrated through the floors as you led him through the half-crowded dance floor. You weaved through the various friends, couples, and parties until you found a comfortable gap. Your boyfriend just chuckled and shook his head.
Turning to face him, you let your arms settle loosely around his neck once again as you moved to the music. His hands squeezed at your waist before moving lower to knead at the small of your back. The two of you eyed each other lovingly, with you brushing a few unruly strands of hair back from his face as he admired the hazy halo the lights cast around you. Before you could think of something to say to excuse your silent drooling, the sound of the next song beginning distracted you. The soft, deep thrum of guitars and bass had the faintest excited gasp escaping your lips. “I love this song!”
raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her fingertips
echoed voices in the night
she’s a restless spirit on an endless flight
His hands held you steady as you bowed back ever so slightly, head tilting as you swayed in his arms. You slowly began to wind your hips in time with the music, silently mumbling the chorus. Eddie smiled softly, humming along as he watched your eyes fall closed.
woo-hoo, witchy woman
see how high she flies
woo-hoo, witchy woman
she got the moon in her eye
He caught you by surprise when he took both of your hands, spinning you and bringing his arms over your head to cross around your waist. You giggled and squealed quietly, tilting your head to look over your shoulder at him as your back pressed to his chest. “See, Munson, you’ve got moves!”
“As long as I still don’t have t’a dust off my waltz, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve,” He promised.

she held me spellbound in the night
dancin’ shadows and firelight
crazy laughter in another room
and she drove herself to madness with a silver spoon
You could already feel him half-hard against you as you wound your hips more intently. Eddie’s fingers dragged up your fishnet-covered thighs, lifting the skirt of your dress dangerously high before moving to grab at your waist again. “Driving me fuckin’ crazy, baby. Know I love you so much, right?”
Head falling back against his chest, you gazed up at him with glossy eyes and a tipsy grin. “I love you too, Eds. Love you so much.” His hands wandered, rubbing over your sides and your stomach as his hips ground into you. Your own hand reached back to wind into his hair, curls growing frizzier in the warmth of the club. Goosebumps began to raise on your skin when he mouthed sloppily at your neck, teeth grazing a sensitive spot before lifting to tug at your earlobe. With the way the blood was rushing in his veins and his head was starting to swim, he may as well have been as drunk as you. The sweet smell of your perfume and the taste of your skin was still enough to make the room spin.
woo-hoo, witchy woman
see how high she flies
woo-hoo, witchy woman
she got the moon in her eye
Far be it from him to complain when you grabbed him by the wrist, pulling him in the direction of the bathroom before the song could even reach its instrumental break. You had never been so grateful for a single-person restroom in your life. Eddie hissed and laughed when you let the door slam shut, fingers clawing at the buttons of his shirt as he reached around you to lock it.
You only managed to get two of the buttons undone before his hand covered yours, pressing it against his chest to stop you as he chuckled softly. “Baby, baby– not here.”
Huffing, you pouted up at him. “Then why’d you let me bring you in here?”
“Well, it wasn’t to strip naked in a public bathroom,” He confirmed. Urging you backward, he didn’t stop until your lower back met the sink counter. “I do seem to remember a promise a certain someone made me a couple months ago, though.”
“Eddie,” You whine. Clutching at his shirt, you tried to draw his body to yours completely as he stood between your legs. “I don’t remember, just touch me. I’ll do whatever you want me to later, but–”
“Oh, I’m gonna need that in writing, babe. Right now, though, you just have to lean back and spread your legs f’me. Okay, sweet girl?”
Nodding, you were already sighing in relief when his hands guided your thighs back toward your chest. He peeled your panties to the side from underneath your fishnets, and it wasn’t until you felt his tongue drag through the wetness he found there that you finally remembered the oh-so-important promise you’d made.
well, i know you want a lover; let me tell you, brother
she’s been sleepin’ in the devil’s bed
and there’s some rumors going ‘round, someone’s underground
she can rock you in the nighttime ‘til your skin turns red
You were already a mess, your dress bunched around your waist and straps falling off your shoulders. Your disheveled hair wouldn’t be so easy to fix, but it was clear to see you had little concern for what your fellow patrons would think. No, you were too focused on the feeling of Eddie sliding two fingers into you as his tongue ring massaged your clit.
If he were a responsible boyfriend, he would remind you to quiet down, but he just couldn’t help himself. He loved when you got drunk– loved when he could see the tension in your shoulders melt away and you got warm, and giggly, and loud– loved when you’d moan and gasp his name without even realizing you were doing it because the first and only thing you were thinking about was how good he made you feel.
So, when you cried out that you were gonna come, he didn’t stop. He didn’t hush you, or cover your mouth with his hand. He just crooked his fingers to the spot he knew always made your insides melt and hummed encouragingly against the wet warmth of your cunt, mesmerized by the sight of you writhing on the counter before him.
Hips still twitching with the aftershocks of your orgasm, you pulled him to you for a sloppy kiss that had him panting like a dog in heat. The doe-eyed look you gave him when you finally spoke was almost enough to make him drop to his knees for you a second time. “Take me home, Eds.”
woo-hoo, witchy woman
see how high she flies
woo-hoo, witchy woman
she got the moon in her eye

If you're interested, here's a prompt from the ones who just shared:
"Then why did you do it?" "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!"
No rush hehe I hope you get rest and have fun writing this!
Now, see, I could have taken this as an open prompt and went with something else, but I know you like dreamling and so I was good.
Thanks for the prompt dear! 💖 Also special thanks goes to @cuubism for actually going through it 🌻🌻🌻 any mistakes are me ignoring her wisdom or straight up forgetting to edit it. one of the two.
Dreamling - some flavor of hurt/comfort(?) 'you dare?' kind of situation going on there, 1,394w
▾▾▾
“I cannot fathom why—”
Dream halts mid-sentence, his outrage rendering him speechless for a precious moment in which Hob tries, fruitlessly, to come up with a way to placate him, to explain in a way that will somehow pass as acceptable to Dream. The betrayal is tangible in the air, so charged that Hob’s hair actually stands on end as if from static. It feels like standing at your front door, still safe but seeing the hurricane on the horizon, knowing that this false safety can and will change in moments. Hob cannot think of a single thing.
“You.” Dream grits his teeth so tightly that they scrape loudly, the sound of it making Hob’s own teeth ache uncomfortably. “Know.” Dream says each word as if it takes a great burden to even use human speech and not simply burn a hole in Hob’s mind. Given Dream’s past record, which Hob had recently learnt of, perhaps it does. “You know I do not ask.”
“I know.” Hob winces.
There’s no denying that he knew. Knew full well that asking Dream’s sibling for help was a guaranteed way to not only outrage him, but also land Hob a very creative punishment and the end of their long friendship.
He knew that, and did it anyway.
Would again, if he had to.
He will not apologize for that.
Dream seems to come to the same conclusion, cheeks reddening in a surprising display of humanity, of lack of control over his appearance. The darkness that creeps into his eyes is distinctly not human. Hob shudders but fixes his eyes on Dream’s, refusing to avert his eyes like a reprimanded youth. He did what he did, and he’s not sorry.
''Then.” To Hob’s surprise, Dream seems to level himself, to school the darkness out of his eyes and ask with a calm that is somehow more unnerving than his rage. “Why did you do it?" There is a finality to this question, like a judge asking for one last confession to tip the scale one way or another. There will be judgment at the end of it, Hob knows.
“Because…” he sucks in a breath, there’s a ball of nerves in his stomach and frustration, surprising him with its intensity, it feels almost like anger.
Why is he here, searching for excuses for something he believes in wholeheartedly? He doesn’t want to learn firsthand of Dream’s notorious pettiness but he’s not here to play these sort of games.
The outraged huff is stuck in his throat— he didn’t even realize he had raised his voice this much, not until the ring of it strains his ears. He is practically shouting. And he doesn’t care.
 ''BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.''
There’s anger in it, frustration, a measure of desperation.
“I bloody love you more than I fear you, that’s why.” His own cheeks burn, itch, tingle with the indignation of it all. “Because I’m a besotted fool who would make a pact with the devil if I had to, if it meant helping you.” He gestures curtly at Dream, then spreads his arm in an exaggerated motion of question. “Why else? Seriously, why else?!” He stops at that, breathing harshly. This is not how he had imagined, not even close. Fuck it. And fuck Lucifer, too. And Dream’s all too pleased sibling, on top.
Through his outburst Hob had stopped paying attention to Dream’s face, only his eyes, latching onto them as if they were his anchor in this universe, the only constant thing, in life, in this.
When he finally looks, really looks, he realizes with a start that Dream’s cheeks are no longer red with anger, that his eyebrows are not as tightly knitted, that his pale lips form a small and lax ‘o’.
His friend looks taken aback, pacified and…surprised.
Like he couldn’t fathom this being the reason for Hob’s supposed betrayal of trust. Like this was the last rationale he had expected to hear, like he, an Endless being of incomprehensible wisdom, is unable to conceive this simple truth. Like he’s at a loss now.
Like he’s a bloody idiot. Hob shakes his head in amazement, his own anger evaporating as quickly as it came. Yet again he wonders how it is possible to be all knowing and yet so blind, so oblivious to such a simple truth, one Hob didn’t even try too hard to hide, really.
“I know you didn’t want me to,” he softens his voice, speaking more quietly “but I really didn’t have a choice. If I could do this on my own, you know I would have, I’d do worse for you.” He smiles at Dream, he doesn’t even try to sound self-deprecating, it’s the honest truth. He would.
His hand drops by his side and he awaits then, for his judgment.
“You love, me?”
Hob doesn't know how to respond to such a simple question other than–
“I do.”
There’s nothing else to add to that, he said it all, he did it all, even Dream must understand this is no passing fancy. One does not risk their immortal soul for something insignificant. Especially not Hob. One does it when it means everything. And in this case, it did. Dream did.
Dream seems to again, come to the same conclusion.
He wilts, shoulders sagging. He looks both much older and much younger at the same time, like this knowledge has stricken him, hurt him.
“You shouldn’t” is all he says.
“But I do.” Hob answers in return.
“I see that.” Dream’s voice is a whisper carried by the breeze, gentle, endless, aching. He looks torn in that moment, the judge whose scales no longer measure in any understandable manner. He casts his gaze down.
“Just let me,” Hob says. He did not come here demanding boons, nor love, only to help Dream. “Forgive my impudent human inclinations to save what I love, and let us continue as we were. Friends. “
“Friends…” Dream repeats after him, as if in disbelief.
Dream opens his mouth to say more—to accept or refuse, Hob doesn’t know—but in that exact moment Matthew half-crashes, half-lands on Dream’s shoulder, a flutter of black feathers and barely muffled curses.
“Boss! Oh for fuck’s sake— I mean cracker’s sake— I mean what the hell— I mean you’re fine—you’re actually okay, I was sure that this time you’re like legit—” he notices Hob then, and cawing loudly he curses again “You actually did it you son of a bitch— you really did!” His wings open excitedly, brushing against Dream’s face, covering it up.
“Matthew.”
“Uh-” Matthew folds his wings immediately.
Hob looks at Dream then, the moment is decidedly broken but he has to know if he’d see him again, he can’t just go on not knowing, it’ll drive him insane. “Dream—” he starts, but Dream speaks over him.
“We will discuss this—” Dream’s lips tighten, eyes flicking to Matthew and then back at Hob. “At a later time.” He concludes rather curtly, seemingly deciding that addressing exactly what they will be discussing is not something he wants his Raven to be privy to.
“Right…” Hob murmurs, not speaking further of the topic either. It’s one thing to break Dream’s boundaries over life and death, another entirely over his own impatience and need to know. Dream wanting to see him again at all is already a damn good sign, and Hob will take it, gladly.
“I’ll see you later then, Dream” He uses the name even while not being sure he is still permitted to, that he did not lose the privilege. Dream tilts his head but doesn’t object, instead he nods once and disappears in a swirl of golden sand.
“Show off…” Hob murmurs into the empty air, shaking his head in disbelief. There’s a good feeling in his gut, he should probably be worried but he has a feeling that things will work out, that it all will be just fine. He can’t explain it, but he has learnt to trust his gut over the years. After all, it once led him to believe that he would never die.
It was right then, and it’ll be right now too. He and Dream will figure it out and will be better for it. Just like the other time, just like always.

Gone Jasper Hale x Human Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: Mental health and things like that are involved, swearing, Self harm is mentioned.
Word count: 709
Type: Angsty fluff at the end.
Masterlist
Sitting on the bathroom floor with blood dripping down my arm, and I new I had fucked up. Things were going great before Jasper had up and left with the rest of his adopted family. For years I had struggled with self harm and mental health issues; well until I had met Jasper and he helped.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I stared at the mess I had made, I slowly raised from the floor and walked over to the sink and grabbed gauze and started to gently wipe the blood in fear of making my arm hurt worse. All I wanted to do was lie in bed and cry. I continued to wipe my arm until the blood was gone, and then bandaged the cuts up. I disposed of the razer that I had used and walked to my room, feeling light headed I sat down at my desk and opened my computer. I opened up to my emails, not expecting to see anything new from Jasper; which there wasn’t.  I created a new email to Alice and vented to her, hoping that she would at least see it, but it's all false hope. I got up and changed and went to grab my keys because I have plans with Bella, who was worse than I was, but something snapped her out of her shell recently, something changed her but I still don't know why.
I knocked on her front door and her dad answered.
“ Hello, Mr.Swan, is Bella ready yet?” I asked. He smiled at me.
“ Please call me Charlie, and I’m not sure, but you know where her bedroom is.” He chuckled at his daughter's antics in running late, she always was late or tripping over her own two feet. I smiled a very fake smile and nodded. I thanked him and walked upstairs.
“Bella? Are you ready?” I said as I opened her door to see her standing in the mirror looking at herself. She turned towards me and nodded. It had been a while since we last spoke. We walked down stairs and said goodbye to her father and headed towards the reservation to hang out with Jacob and the clan. We took her truck since the dirt roads may be muddy because of the consistent rain and my car was not built for being stuck in the mud. It took a while to get there and we made small talk, about half way there I finally asked a question that had been eating me up inside.
“Have you heard anything from Alice or Edward, any of them even?” She took her eyes off the road and looked at me before returning her gaze back to the road.
“ No I haven’t, I was going to ask you the same thing. But I take it that you haven’t heard from any of them either. I shake my head no. Once we got to the reservation we hung out with the group of boys that were there, some made snarky comments about Edward and Jasper, I still don’t understand why they don’t like each other. Bella and I had left after a few hours and when I stepped into my room I saw Jasper passing around. He had a worried expression on his pale face.
“ Jasper?” My voice rang out in disbelief. Why is he here now? Once he heard my voice he turned towards me.
“ Y/n Darlin’ I’m sorry for leaving you like that. I’m glad you're okay.” His voice sounded sad and lingered with regret. He continued speaking.
“ Alice told me what you did and I’m so fucking sorry I had made you feel that way. Please could you find it in your beautiful heart to forgive me.” Jasper was trying to sweet talk me. I walked over and gave him a hug and shook my head yes. Knowing there was nothing that could never make me hate him.
“ Darlin’ I love you oh so very much and I want you to know that” Tears began to roll down my cheeks and collect into the soft wool of his sweater. We layed in my bed for the rest of the night, It was the least he could do for leaving unannounced.

We finally meet Echo! :)
I didn't have as much time as I thought I would this week, so have a sketch with some colors slapped over it... sorry :|
Also, I think I settled on a name for the fic. Does "Raising Dominoes" sound okay? In any case, here's Chapter 5 - Echo, I hope you enjoy!
Prologue: 00 Previous Chapter: 04 Next Chapter: 06
Summary: Rex and Fives visit Echo in the ICU.
CW: Implied/referenced child abuse, missing limbs, hospitals
Chapter 5 - Echo
The waiting room was packed with people. Even though he had told Cody to go home earlier that morning, Rex made a quick scan for him, but it was too difficult to see over the hordes of visitors and patients. Fives was also looking around the room fervently.
“Rex, sir?” The boy asked straightening up and squaring his shoulders to address Rex.
“Yes, little soldier?” Rex joked, guiding Fives towards the front desk.
“I don’t see Echo.”
“Echo is in one of the rooms back there,” Rex explained, pointing to the door leading to the rest of the hospital. “This is the waiting room. It’s for people waiting to get help or people waiting to see friends or family in the hospital.”
“Do we have to wait here to see Echo?”
“We’ll see,” Rex said as he approached a young man behind the desk.
The man looked up and smiled, “Hello, how may I help you today?”
“We’re here to get Echo,” Fives piped up in a slightly more authoritarian tone than Rex would have expected from him.
“Echo Se, we’re here to see him,” Rex clarified, ruffling Fives’s hair.
“Right, of course, sir,” The man behind the desk nodded, but paled a bit and shifted forward in his chair to see Fives over the desk.
“Problem?” Rex asked, raising a brow.
The man smiled nervously, “We don’t allow children under the age of 12 to visit patients in the ICU, sir.”
Shit. Rex hadn’t thought about age limits on visitation. He looked down at Fives, then gritted his teeth and leaned in closer to the man, “Look, they’re twins, and I promised he’d be able to see him today.”
“I’m sorry, sir,” the man replied still hiding behind a false smile. “It’s hospital policy. For the health of our patients and your sons, I can’t make an exception.”
Rex sighed, moving away from the man. He was right. It would be bad if Echo got sick in his condition. But, had Cody not said Kix thought they could visit? Maybe he could drop Fives off with Cody and visit Echo and have them face time, or-
“Rex!” A familiar voice cut through his thoughts.
Rex’s eyes shot up as a lean man with an intricate buzz cut pushed through the doors leading to the ICU, “Kix!”
Kix’s white coat billowed out behind him as he strode over to the desk and smiled down at Fives, “And this little one must be Fives.”
Fives tried to mirror Kix’s cheery expression but fell short as his attention turned on the door swing shut behind the man. To quell any temptations of running off through the ICU looking for Echo, Rex put a hand on the boy’s shoulder.
Kix walked behind the desk and leaned down to whisper something to the man. The clerk’s face turned a little pale as Kix pulled away to smile at Rex and Fives, but he nodded and began typing away on his computer.
“I cut a little deal for you two,” Kix said, motioning for them to follow him through the door.
Fives looked up at Rex and Rex nodded his permission to follow Kix into the ICU. The boy smiled and ran to catch up.
Rex looked over at the clerk. He was deliberately avoiding eye contact and his hands trembled at the keyboard. Rex sighed out a sympathetic “thanks” to the poor man before following after Fives. He sometimes forgot how scary Kix could be.
The ICU was full of doctors, nurses, technicians, patients and visitors, and others Rex couldn’t quite place. Most moved with purpose and didn’t give the trio a second glance, but a few workers shot Kix inquisitive looks. None of them approached them though.
They took a few turns before Kix stopped outside a bathroom and ushered them inside, “We have to get all cleaned up before we see Echo.”
Fives nodded in understanding and began washing his hands at the sink. Rex and Kix joined him and soon Kix was ushering them back out the door.
“Now Fives,” Kix started as he stopped again outside a room. “I know it’s going to be really hard, but it’s important that when we go in to see Echo you don’t touch anything, okay?”
Fives nodded.
“No touching any of the machines and definitely no touching Echo.”
Fives looked up at Rex before turning back to Kix and nodding again.
“It’s because he had a lot of surgeries and if he got sick or hurt right now, it would be really bad, so we don’t want him to get sick because we spread him our germs.”
Fives nodded again.
“And it’s really important if you start to feel sick that you leave the room as soon as you can and try to make it to the bathroom.”
“Okay,” Fives said in a small voice.
Kix nodded and opened the door, walking in before Fives could sneak his way past, and situating himself in the far corner of the room.
After Rex shut the door behind him, he was met with a dim room, the only light coming from behind closed blinds and the lights on the countless machines hooked up to a small body lying on the bed under papery white sheets. Fives stood motionless at the foot of the bed. Rex made his way over to the boy and put his hand on his shoulder. Fives looked up and Rex saw tears spilling down his cheeks.
“Here, come here,” Rex said softly, picking up the boy carefully.
As soon as Fives was in Rex’s arms, he wrapped his limbs around him, holding on for dear life and trembling with each sob. Rex stepped over to a chair at Echo’s bedside and sat down, carding his hand through Fives’s hair as he held him.
At Echo’s bedside Rex had a much better view of Fives’s sleeping twin. They looked identical, the only differences being Echo’s slightly shorter hair and the noticeable lack of lumps under the covers where his legs and right arm should have been.
Fives sobbed into Rex’s shirt loudly and Rex grimaced, “How are you feeling, Fives? Do we need to step out for a bit?”
“N-no!” Fives shouted, squeezing Rex harder.
At Fives’s shout Echo’s whole body seemed to convulse and Rex looked to Kix, thinking maybe the boy was having a seizure. Kix didn’t look up from Echo’s body, but he also didn’t move to help, so Rex turned his attention back on the boy in the bed. His eyes were open now, but looked glassy and unfocused, staring towards the ceiling. He looked dead.
Fives’s turned his head from Rex’s shoulder to face his brother, “Ech- Echo?”
Echo’s eyes didn’t move, but he did open his mouth in response, and panicked but hoarse and weak words spilled out, “We- we need to get to the wall to escape the citadel. No. I’ll go first. No. No. No! N-”
“Echo,” Rex interrupted softly as Fives buried his head back into Rex’s shirt and let out a wave of fresh sobs.
The boy stopped babbling, but his breathing became more and more labored.
Rex wanted to pull the injured boy into his embrace as well, but refrained, “Fives came to see you. Fives is here.”
Rex extracted Fives from his torso and turned the boy around so he would be facing Echo before placing him back down in his lap.
“Fives…” Echo said drowsily, almost as if he were in a trance.
“Echo, I’m here,” Fives said tenderly, though his voice was still shaky from the tears.
“Fives.”
“I’m here.”
“Fives?” Echo shifted his head and locked eyes with his brother.
“Eh-Echo!” Fives tried to reach out to his brother, but Rex restrained him. “You’re okay!”
Echo flinched away from the noise and Fives looked from his brother to Rex with a hurt expression.
“It’s too loud for him,” Kix explained. “Sometimes that happens when you hurt your head. We just need to be quieter.”
“Sorry,” Fives whispered.
Echo turned back to Fives, brow scrunched and eyes searching his brother’s face, “What- what happened? Where are we?”
“You got hurt,” Fives supplied. “We’re in the hospital.”
Echo began to look panicked.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now,” Rex said. He needed the boy to hear that, even if he probably didn’t believe it yet.
Surprisingly the words seemed to calm the injured boy down, so much so that he drifted back off to sleep.
Fives twisted to look at Rex, confused, “W-why’d he go back sleep? He- he just woke up.”
“He has to get a lot of sleep right now because his body is healing.”
Fives turned back to Echo and Kix walked over to the bed and adjusted the blankets to fit around the boy more snuggly.
“Should we let him get his rest?” Rex asked the doctor.
Kix nodded, “We can talk in the waiting room with Cody if you want.”
“Cody’s still here?” Rex said incredulously, standing with Fives in his arms to follow Kix out the door. “I told him to go home and get some rest.”
Kix shrugged, leading them out into the hallway, “I told him the same thing.”
The trio made their back to the waiting room quickly and found Cody dosing in one of the corners.
“Cody,” Rex said as he sat in the free seat next to his brother.
Cody woke with a start, then locked eyes with Rex, “Sorry, I must have fallen asleep.”
Rex shrugged, “I told you to go home anyway.”
“Didn’t want the kid to be alone.” Cody looked from Rex to Kix, “How is he?”
Kix crossed his arms in front of him and leaned against the wall, “All things considered, he’s doing really well.”
Fives looked up at Rex from his perch on his lap, eyes full of hope.
Kix continued: “The good news is so far the surgeries seem to have gone successfully and he appears to be on the mend. We have him on a morphine drip for now to keep him comfortable, but I’m hoping we can get the dosage lower soon. The broken ribs and concussion all we can recommend is rest. For the legs and arm, once he’s feeling well enough that he can stay awake for more than a few minutes at a time, we’ll start physical therapy. It’s going to be a long and painful road to recovery, and even with the best of the best, there’s no guarantee he’ll ever walk again.”
Rex and Cody nodded simultaneously with matching grim expressions.
“When can we- When can he leave?” Fives asked, looking to Rex for the answer.
Rex looked to Kix, who responded to the boy in an even tone, “We’d like to get him moved to the regular part of the hospital in a few days. Then he’ll probably stay there for around another week if things continue to go well. After that he’ll be able to go home.”
“Can we see him again?” Fives asked in a small voice.
Kix smiled, “Once we move him to the hospital you can visit him any time you like. Does that sound okay?”
Fives nodded.
“Do you have any other questions?”
The boy shook his head slowly.
Rex had so many, but he was not sure all of them were suited for Fives’s ears, so he kept his mouth shut and shook his head, “Thank you, Kix.”
“Don’t mention it,” Kix smiled cheekily. “It’s my job.”
Cody snorted.
Kix pointedly ignored Cody’s obvious eyerolling, “If anything comes up, you already have my number.”
As Kix weaved his way out of the waiting room Cody stretched back in his chair and turned to Rex, “How’s everything going with you two?”
“Good,” Rex said, looking down at the small boy in his lap. As Kix would say, all things considered, things were going surprisingly well. Fives seemed to trust him—as long as he wasn’t yelling at him—and was fairly easily calmed down with physical contact. Rex could tell Fives was a good kid and already knew he would do anything for the boy’s happiness.
Cody nodded, then turned to Fives, a slight upturn to his lips, “He treating you okay?”
Fives nodded vigorously, “He let me sleep in a real bed and we made pancakes! Do you know what pancakes are?”
Cody’s eyes flicked to Rex’s for a millisecond in what Rex could only assume was horror, before they focused back on Fives, feigning innocence, “No. What’s a pancake?”
Five’s face lit up, “It’s a food that you make from a box. You mix it all up and then pour it in a pan and you get to flip it! Then you eat it when it’s done. And you get to put syrup on it!”
Fives was breathless by the end of his choppy explanation.
“Was it good?”
Fives nodded in an exaggerated movement.
“I’ll have to try it sometime then,” Cody said, standing from his seat.
Rex stood as well, depositing Fives at his feet, “Echo’s in good hands, you should go home, Cody.”
Cody nodded, “What’s your plan for the day?”
“Give you a ride back to the station, then I think we might go to the store and get Fives and Echo some things they’ll need.”
“Sounds like a good idea,” Cody praised as they walked towards the exit. “If you need any help, Kix said Hardcase is suspended again this week. Give the kid something to do.”
Rex searched Cody’s face for any hints on what possibly could have happened this time, but Cody just shook his head sadly.
Rex sighed, “We’ll pick him up on the way to the mall.”

Hello and congrats 🎊 2k followers, that’s quite a milestone 💖
I’m big in the fallout brain rot right now and yes I know, Squire Thaddeus is not on your list of characters you write for, but I really like your style and thought I’d ask nonetheless 😅
So a Thaddeus x Reader, after he’s running from the brotherhood. like reader is down bad for him, but he doesn’t get it until reader basically strips down in front of him 😅
Also if this isn’t your type of thing or character to write, I just wanted to thank you for your stories 💖

You watched across the small fire as Thaddeus picked at the tin of beans in his lap. Finally settled for the night in an abandoned cabin, another day of journeying far from the Brotherhood, you decided it would be the perfect time to lay it on thick for him. You'd been flirting, charming, letting your touches linger, but nothing yet had been enough to get a reaction from him, and you were getting desperate.
So you opted to give it one last big effort, deciding that if it wasn't enough to get him interested in you, that you could officially give up on any hopes of being with him.
Since settling in for the evening, you'd swept up the floor, laid out bed rolls, and started a fire to cook the tins of food you found in one of the cupboards. You'd even let Thaddeus pick which one he'd rather eat. Nothing made you giddier than seeing him smile, his lip curling up, patchy moustache disappearing under his nose as his two, large, gapped front teeth became visible.
He was so cute. And you couldn't wait any longer.
"You know, Thaddeus. I think you're brave. I think you're so brave."
He looked up at you, surprise on his face, a questioning eyebrow raised into his forehead. With his mouth full of beans he tried to speak.
"mmmph-Really?"
You nodded your head, making sure to look up at him through your eyelashes, half-lidded eyes offering a sultry gaze in his direction.
"I really do. I wouldn't feel half as safe out here if it wasn't for you. You're like my protector. My knight."
"Your knight?"
He scrunched his nose up in disbelief, resting his features only when your hand reached out and stroked his arm.
"Oh yeah, you're so big... and strong..."
Thaddeus tilted his head, more confusion covering his puppy-dog features as he tried to take your compliments.
"Strong... really?"
"Mhm, and so handsome too. Like super handsome. Sexy even."
"Huh... Well, thanks I guess!"
He stood up form the fire with his empty can and spoon and you joined him, following close behind, not wanting to the opportunity to pass by you despite how difficult he was making things. You were so close to him, in face, that you have him a shock when he turned back from the sink where out of habit he'd placed the spoon.
"Oh! Almost knocked you over there, ha."
You laughed hard, a forced and exaggerated chuckle, and placed your hand on his chest. You let your fingers stroke up and down against him as you spoke.
"Thaddeus, you are so funny. You're just perfect!"
With a slight blush on his cheeks, he tried to offer some false modesty in response.
"I do try."
"Gosh, is there anything you can't do?"
The question flustered him a little, since there was actually plenty he couldn't do, and you were well aware of that, but he didn't know how to express it all.
"I guess... I guess maybe?"
Sensing that the question might have been a little too difficult, a little too tender for someone who had just been kicked out of the Brotherhood of Steel for failing to kill a target, lying on behalf of another brother, and injecting himself with an unknown substance which was slowly turning him into an unknown abomination, you changed tactics.
"Well... Is there anything else you're particularly good at?"
HIs lips were the focus of your attention, the seemingly universal sign that you were determined to kiss him, if he'd let you. You licked your own, a tempting tongue sliding over them. But Thaddeus, yet again, missed the signal.
"Uh, I don't know really."
Still focused, although speaking through slightly gritted teeth, you stepped a little closer to him.
"Your lips look soft. Are you any good at kissing?"
He took a moment to think, and you felt the weight on your chest lighten, believing that maybe, finally, you'd gotten through to him.
"I haven't actually kissed anyone, so I have no idea."
Thaddeus shrugged as he spoke, and then walked right past you, completely oblivious to any of your efforts, your flirting, your obvious compliments. And you'd finally had it. In a fit of sheer rage, you yelled out loud.
"Oh my god, Thaddeus! How much more obvious to I need to be!?"
He looked at you with wide, empty eyes, confusion written all over his sweet face and his mouth fell open, but no words came out. As far as he was concerned, you were suddenly yelling at him for no reason at all, at least not one he could figure out.
"I mean, what will it take, huh? Do I have to get down on one knee for you? Spell it out in the bones of my enemies? Write it on every bullet for your stupid gun? Strip down completely and offer myself up? Hm? Is that what it would take? Well..."
You pulled at the zip of your jumpsuit, tearing it down in one swift movement, exposing your underwear and bare skin to him. It slid down your waist and you shimmied out of it, kicking it aggressively to one side before moving to your underwear, pulling it off your body ferociously until you were completely naked in front of him. Laid bare, panting furiously.
"There. Now do you get it? I want you Thaddeus. You can have me."
He was completely still, eyes wide, pupils huge, intensely focused on your breasts which moved slightly with every heaving breath you took. As he opened his mouth to try and say something, anything, he was interrupted by a sudden taste of metal against his tongue.
"Oh my god, Thaddeus? Are you ok?"
Blood spilled from his nose, fast and thick, and you rushed to him, kneeling beside him and holding his cheeks between your hands.
"Aw, you poor thing. What happened?"
With a stutter he spoke, closing his eyes to avoid the embarrassment of admitting the truth, though his cheeks were flushing a bright pink that gave his shame away.
"It's... I've never seen... that- those- before... not in person."
You stifled a giggle, knowing it would likely only make him more embarrassed. He really was oblivious, but so inexperienced that you could forgive him.
"Oh, Thaddy..."
You stroked his hair, leaning into him, bringing his head to rest on your chest. he gasped softly, mouth trembling as he felt the soft cushion of your breasts against his cheek.
"How about once it stops, we see if we can get another few firsts in for you, then?"
Thaddeus swallowed loud, an almost comical gulp that pushed away his nerves long enough for him to get out a complete sentence.
"I don't think it's going to stop until I'm not touching a part of your naked body."
"Huh... better just power through then."
You kicked a leg over him, straddling his body, a twitch stirring in the front of his pants as he let his eyes linger over your breasts, his nose still dripping, cheeks bright red, and eyes going hazy as he waited, still looking for more confirmation that this was really happening.

“Eyes up, Your Highness. Your opponent’s eyes can tell you their next move.”
The sound of metal sliding against metal filled the room as you two sparred, one calculating and one determined. Swords met high in front of your faces before you twisted your blades, bringing his down with yours. A harsh yet sudden burst of pressure was all you needed to push onto his blade for him to stagger backwards.
His back hit the wall, and you maintained your distance while waiting for him to gather his bearings. He looked up at you with a smirk before correcting his posture and crouching in preparation to lunge. “Nearly got me there, Princess.”
With all the speed he could muster, he rushed forward and held his sword up, aiming to lay it against your neck, but you caught the blade with yours, parrying it out of his hands and onto the floor alongside your own. The sound of swords clattering echoed as something else sharp was placed against his jugular, your faces inches apart.
“Correction,” you smiled innocently, a tilt to your head, “I did get you. And I’m not actually a princess. Unlike you, Your Royal Highness Prince Chenle, second-in-line to the throne.”
“And yet the Seven Seas continue to address you as such,” he smiled at you, more genuinely this time. “I yield for this round. Tea?”
“You royals are the strangest of creatures,” you took a step back with a laugh, bending down to pick up your swords after sheathing your dagger back in its hidden holster. You turned around, handing his rapier back to him and accepting the tea he presented you with.
He raised his eyebrows at you. “How so?”
“You pride yourselves in the art of fencing, but a real blade in your hands and you barely come to any use.”
“I would take offence, My Lady,” he pulled a seat out for you, “but I have seen you in battle. Yet, the style you use in a match against me is different. Why is that?”
You took the seat. “Because you and I aren’t on opposing sides. And I hope we never meet the day you turn to my ways.”
He nodded at her. “When do you set sail again?”
“3 days off,” your body slumped forward in exhaustion, remembering the mission assigned to your ship. “My father wants to make sure the fleet arrives well-received. Promadere is probably the only trading capital where pirates can roam freely, and apparently I am the best choice to maintain that status.”
“Daughter of the King of the Seven Seas, feared by many and respected by all,” the full title rolled off of Chenle’s tongue.
“Feared by your father and all kings,” you added on with a snort, “Despite the fact that he isn’t actual royalty and that my father complains at the sight of herbs near his food and enjoys collecting miniature animal figurines.”
“Yes, it’s a shame they don’t see his soft side that his daughter brings out.”
“I presume you find yourself funny, Your Highness,” you raised an eyebrow.
He raised his cup to you in a false cheers motion. “Only the best quality humour to come out of a royal's mouth, My Lady. Staying for the night?”
“I’m afraid I cannot stay,” you smiled sadly and stood up, walking to his window. “While I do enjoy seeing your eyes light up hearing my awesome adventures, you have your mundane princely duties to return to, and I have a crew to prepare.”
He followed you to the window, watching as you stood on the sill. “You’ll return before you set sail, yes?”
“Relax, you’ll be eating my blade once again tomorrow evening. With that, I bid you adieu.”
You saluted him and let yourself fall backwards. He rolled his eyes, but looked over the edge to ease his worried heart more than anything. He watched as you gracefully fell into a dive and safely landed in the water, a feat that would injure tremendously anyone else who tried the same. Flashes of your white blouse caught his eye as you fixed the circlet around your head and swam to your boat. You looked up, giving him one last wave before beginning to row away.
Chenle waved back and watched as you sailed back into the distant fog towards the cove that even he had no idea the location of. Where the ship you captained waited for you. He sighed.
One day, he’d get out of his duties and sail away with you. His older brother would be king anyway.

Struggling with change - Alessia Russo
Tumblr media
I’m sorry In advance
Word count : 1.3k
The sky darkened outside your home in Manchester as Alessia stood on your doorstep nervously, knowing this could go one or two ways but she felt dread.
The news had come out today that she was leaving her rightful home of Manchester United for Arsenal, which came with great opportunities for the striker but breaking your heart wasn’t her plan.
But she dug her own hole when she promised you that she wouldn’t leave Man U for you but it was just an offer she couldn’t deny which came the consequences of ruining your relationship.
Her heart was heavy with regret as she knocked on the door, hoping for a chance to make amends, but she also understood that she had broken the trust between you.
As you opened the door and saw who was standing there, you rolled your eyes. “Alessia what are you doing here?”I asked, keeping a firm grip on the door, not wanting to let her through.
She bit her lips, her eyes filling up with tears. She knew you didn’t mean it and just high on emotions but she had to talk to you sooner rather than later. But that didn’t mean what you were saying didn’t hurt her.
But she hurt you first.
“Please, hear me out”she begged, almost getting on her knees for you but you didn’t want to hear it. “I know I fucked up big Time, but I can’t let things end like this, not after everything we’ve been through”.
You took a deep breath, not emotionally prepared for this. “I trusted you, Alessia. I was vulnerable and you gave me false hope and promises but you lied and betrayed me, I don’t know if that can be forgiven.
Her tears spilled over once again, loosing hope a lot quicker than she had anticipated. “Baby, I never wanted to hurt you”Alessia said, her voice trembling . “I just didn’t know how to tell you and before I knew it I got caught up in the excitement and the news was already out”
“That’s not a good enough reason, Alessia. There is no reason for betraying me like that” I shook my head.
“Please Y/N, forgive me or just let me in, we need to talk” she pleaded and I gave her a tight-lipped smile.
“No”
And with that, I slammed the door in her face.
A few weeks later
“What do you want?”I ask coming face to face with Ella Toone as I entered the coffee shop just down the road from me.
It has been a few weeks since Alessia had shown up on my front door. I guess technically we were still together but she had been spamming me none stop to meet up but I had blocked her on everything.
And I was doing pretty well without her, trying to distract myself with work and other things including coming to this coffee shop which was a comfort place for me.
“Maybe we should sit down,” she said coldly as I rolled my eyes.
“Fine” I gave in, sitting down at a small table not too far from the door.
“Well talk then!”i exclaimed with an attitude raising my arms, after sitting in silence with nothing being said.
“Please forgive Alessia” she pleaded and I leaned back in my seat.
“Ain’t gonna happen,” I told her stubbornly shaking my head as she sighed.
“C’mon Y/N please, she doesn’t deserve this” She leaned forward and my mouth opened in shock, I was flabbergasted.
“She doesn’t deserve this? I’m sorry, but if I remember correctly I was the one who was left out, lied to betrayed and she was the one who promised me she was staying at Utd and then goes to fucking Arsenal” I argued, letting out deep breaths from not breathing when I was talking.
“Wait, she didn’t tell you about going to arsenal? She told me she told you?”Ella’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“So she’s been lying to you too huh?”I asked, clicking my teeth and standing up, leaving without my coffee.
A couple hours later
I hear the door slam outside, bringing my attention from the tv, where nothing was on but I was staring into space nonetheless, Alessia was at my home.
It was giving me real deja vu right now, and it made my blood run cold. I could recognise her from any point of view even with a door in between us.
Why was she here?
I was in no way ready or in the right state of mind to face her right now. Yes it had been a few weeks and she gave me time, I guess but it wasn’t enough.
Not long after, I heard the sound of her car locking before she was entering the home, making my heart race unintentionally.
"Hi," she said awkwardly, closing the door behind her. Shit, I forgot she owned a key to my house.
"Hm," I mumbled stubbornly, not having the energy to be civil with her right now without punching her square in the face.
I turned my head to the side with my arms crossed against my chest, I was acting like a child who had been put on the naughty step, refusing to give up but I couldn't care less.
I was mad.
And she knew it.
“Y/N, are you ready to forgive me yet?”she sighed, as if she was tired making me turn my head towards her, narrowing my eyes.
“No, Alessia, I’m not,” I told her as she sighed exaggerating and the noise that left her body sounded as if she was groaning.
“Well then when will you? Because I’m tired of this ‘I need time’ shit” She put air quotes around her last words and I couldn’t lie her words were breaking me bit by bit.
“Your tired of this? I’m sorry but it’s been 2 weeks and a half weeks, if you want to be with me and try to work this out I’m gonna need more time than a few weeks to get over this” I started to stand up as my words got louder before sitting back down again.
“I’m sorry Y/N, I didn’t mean that, I let things get the better of me and I’m sorry for everything I just want everything to be perfect my career and our relationship” she was starting to say the right things as I suck in a breath.
“You do know what you’ve given up by doing this right?” I questioned, crossing my arms against my chest.
“Yeah, I know and I’m sorry, giving up the opportunity to play with the love of my life and of course my best friend, and obviously we have to do a bit of long distance but it isn’t that much I know it’ll work out” she shrugged and her words kind of make me want to laugh at her assumptions.
You took a deep breath, looking up at Alessia for the first time with tears in your eyes.
"That's not what I meant, With doing this you've given up this, us, me".
A look of realisation took over on Alessia's face as she shook her head and dread as she tried to get her words out, all she managed was,
"n, no, Y-Y/N no you can't, you won't do this, I won't lose you".
I didn't say anything.I stood up from my spot, heading upstairs and into my bedroom. Alessia followed me. She tried to do anything, say anything to get me to forgive her but I wouldn't listen.
She sighed as she leaned her head against the door, hearing me fall asleep as she cried quietly falling against the door, knowing she would have to leave eventually, but ultimately refused until she convinced herself I was no longer hers.
Yes, she had made one of the best decisions of her career which could take her places.
But she lost me in the process,
Forever.
