My Demon - 7/10

The announcement of My Demon literally created chaos among the k-drama fans. The Song Kang-Kim Youjung pairing was making everyone insane. The hype was unreal. But did My Demon live up to it? Well, the answer to that would be… yes or no (kissy if u read that in Na Bora’s voice). My Demon did have a very interesting plot line, good enough characters and it was successful in getting the audiences hooked with the first few episodes. The cinematography was the most talked about among the viewers and rightfully so. The wide shots of Jung Guwon’s (Song Kang) office, the underwater scene, the slow-mo shot of the waves forming a portal around Guwon and Dohee (Kim Youjung), the Dohee-about-to-fall-off-the-balcony scene and so on. Another thing that filled twitter was the fashion. And not only the female lead’s this time, but also the male leads. Guwon has secured his place among the very few male leads with impeccable fashion sense. When most male leads are shown in sophisticated suits, Guwon was rocking cropped jackets and scarfs. But then again, I don’t think most male leads are Song Kang.

Nevertheless, My Demon stands as an example that if you start with a bang, your ending should be a banger. This is where the drama failed. In the second half, it started to feel like the story line was being stretched. The cinematography and direction which was so good in the start had taken a back seat and love making montages were put in for the action that wasn’t happening. And by action, I mean just anything that would contribute to the plot. The plot was moving, but at a very slow pace. Sure, Guwon and Dohee make the best couple, the greenest flag couple, the entire amazon rainforest couple, but where is the drama? I wasn’t necessarily waiting for anything bad to happen, but for a time being literally nothing was happening. And I was mad about that. Until towards to the end, everything happened. The new trend of k-drama rom-coms only having 12 episodes, My Demon should’ve followed that. Because the more they stretched, the more Song Kang’s bad acting showed and also the writer’s inability to stitch it all together. I honestly loved Song Kang in Sweet Home, not that he had any more than 2 expressions 3 dialogues in it, but still. Jung Guwon is far more expressive, and Song Kang couldn’t do justice. He shines when the camera requires for him to be the slayest demon to walk this planet, but when it is time for the playful babygirl Guwon to get on stage, his acting feels like… acting. It’s not terrible, it’s just not the best. Also the entire past life plot is becoming more than obvious. The moment I saw Guwon dreaming of his past, I KNEW Guwon and Dohee probably died in the past life and one of them thinks it’s their fault and they will try to distance themselves from each other. You know which other drama did it? See You in My 19th Life and Destined with You and maybe more but I don’t remember. Like can we please move on? This is equivalent to the 2016 era dramas having the oh we’ve actually met in childhood and not forgotten each other since trope. But then again, they have given us the most iconic dramas, can’t the same about these though.

However, I loved the way they showed Jin Gayoung’s character coming full circle. She is probably the only one who started a certain way, learned her lessons, had character development and got her happy ending. So yeah, My Demon definitely isn’t the best drama for me. I am not going to put in on my re-watch list. But I will recommend it. It’s fun, and sweet, and great for fashion inspo!

Another thing I want to add is that My Demon is compared to Doom at Your Service a lot for having a similar concept, so I’ll just say that DAYS is a much better drama, for all aspects – storyline, acting, romance, comedy, THE FUCKING AWESOME THREESOME OF THE SECOND LEAD THRUPPLE, even the song (If Love Sight by TXT doesn’t play in my head when I look at my future partner, I’ll know they’re not the one). Except My Demon is going to take the trophy for best costume.

Ok that’s it now let me play Hyunsu’s “What should we do?” until Sweet Home S3 comes out hehe!

one thing you would change about the show if you could

I’d have liked Pat’s anger in episode 7 to have been dealt with a bit more definitely but they pulled it back by giving it proper consideration in episode 11.  Honestly I would have also loved more flashbacks to their pre-transfer era as well as a little more on Icy Pat, but I understand why we didn’t get them.

Answering you question of who will be the break out star of CNCO.

I agree with you about Chris although when they first announced the separation I wasn’t sure. I feel like Chris has the advantage that he is super charismatic and a hard worker. He is willing to to work hard to achieve his goals.

I agree with you about Richard also but I can see him using the people knows like families members who are in the business to help him so I think if he puts his mind to it he will be successful.

I think Zabdiel will also be able to make it but I honestly still see him being more successful as a producer than a singer.

Erick I can see him doing something else like acting but also think he will stay in the music business.

I’ll include Joel since you did but I think that Joel can have an attitude worse than Richard’s and I think that will not help him. I don’t like any of his songs he has released since leaving CNCO because all of them have too much auto-tune and Joel doesn’t need it. I think that Joel’s way of aggressively defending himself is not doing him any favors and will cause him to lose fans.

Hi & with Chris its not just the charisma - he seems a genuinely nice & humble guy. & you are right about him being a hard worker & I'd add that he is the best of them with social media.

10: Dawn FM - The Weeknd

I’ll be honest, i’m not in love with the entirety of this record. I think it has some of the best pop songs that’ve dropped recently (back to back even!), but after track 7 it’s not quite the same (am i alone in this?? let me know!!). It’s a shame too, because at 16 tracks total, the “great” part ends up being less than half of the album. Sooo why is it on my top 10 at all? Well, because i did still play it and replay it tons of times. Those first songs on it... man. Immaculate vibes. Though after Out of Time ends i almost always turn it off 😅

Side tangent regarding Out of Time, btw: I’ve always liked OPN, and getting the chance to listen to his production on big artists like this is kind of a treat. When i heard OoT though i was like “Damn! They arranged this?! This is really precise and detailed and far beyond the scope of what i thought they were capable of...” So then when i learned that the backing track was actually sampled from Tomoko Aran’s 1983 song Midnight Pretenders i was really disappointed (i’d even listened to that album AND song before, i just didn’t remember it). We’ll leave the discussion of how i feel about covers/sampling in general for another day though!

I’m telling you man, that Hermit song? Those 41 minutes go by reeeal quick. Don’t be scared of pure beauty! On top of it there are also some other banging tracks as well. The Fool’s soundscape is another highlight for me, for example.

08: Fawn - Foxtails

I like heavy shit, although i’m not usually into screamo stuff... but i’m kinda slowly changing that. This record was great for me in that regard cuz it’s not all entirely sung in that style. Great entry point if you wanna get attuned with that general sound, probably. I didn’t know this band prior to hearing this, and now i can say i’m a fan! These tunes rule. They sound younger than me though, and i’m still trying to cope with that LOL

07: Tropical Dancer - Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul

Brilliant dance/club/techno/house from these two. I would say “biting social commentary” if 1) it wasn’t the most clichéd phrase ever and 2) if it wasn’t at least the baseline """wokeness""" society should just operate at nowadays, honestly. It’s also charming and funny. And danceable AF. Great great great record; not many like it.

04: Renaissance - Beyoncé

Not much i can add to the discussion of this album, or Beyoncé in general... Well, actually, one thing that comes to mind is how this record comes off as extremely pro-capitalist and individualistic on her part. Idk i admit i don’t usually listen to her, so idk if that’s her usual spiel. It makes sense tho, with her being a gajillionare and having a completely different lifestyle than any of the people who listen to her. This album’s whole aesthetic is money. Even in the sound! It sounds like it was very expensive to make and like every single little beep and/or boop on it was analyzed and tested by a large team of specialists in order to fit perfectly in a song. I will say, though, it sounds fucking amazing. Really pristine production. Bop after bop. I’ve danced to this album a lot.

03: Pigments - Dawn Richard & Spencer Zahn

I loooove the concept of this album. It reminds me of 2021′s Promises by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra in how a musical motif is introduced at the start and how it gets developed across the whole runtime of the record. I don’t wanna compare these two albums though; they’re very different. This one’s also really groovy at times! Love the composing, arranging, instrumentation, singing and everything else in this. And also, little details like the naming of the songs after... well, pigments, and having those pigments in order of appearance on the cover go a long way to making an album feel like a holistic, thought out experience for me. Love it!

02: Hellfire - Black Midi

Insane. Go listen to it if you haven’t already listened to it like 500 times like me. Or! Better yet, if you’ve heard it 500 times go and listen to it again. Insane! These kids really are pushing the whole jazz rock/prog rock/alt&art rock in general scene forward. I also love how each story (i.e. song) on this feels like a very different but still very tangible depiction of a hellish experience.

01: Motomami - Rosalía

Motomami’s an excellent record. That’s just how it is. It’s also special to me specifically because it dropped right around the time when i moved away from home, and i had it constantly on repeat on my new place. However, the real reason it’s on my #1 spot is because it kinda changed things, culturally speaking. It was a force of nature to be reckoned with, upon release. You see, i live in a natively Spanish speaking region, and over here this album was some sort of a cultural reset. I think that’s bigger than me or anyone else’s preferences, and it’s more than enough to warrant the top spot. I also just happen to love it!

I am OKAY 

The playlist I have curated is probably one of the few that means the most to me. It’s not like I’m depressed or anything (not diagnosed at least), however, these songs pull on strings that I did not know I had in my heart. I am a very empathetic person, so maybe that's why these songs do it to me, either way, the songs are just a 10/10, perfect even. 

The first song, Adams Song by Blink-182, is one of the most beautifully written, heart wrenching songs. It is about a person who is suicidal and wants to go back to days before but then by the end of the song, he wants to keep living. It is just truly a song that makes you want to hug someone, or be hugged. It is so beautiful and I cannot stress that enough. 

Similarly, the song More Than Life by Machine Gun Kelly embodies the same theme, just that it is a girl who brings life to him, not so much as himself bringing life to him. In a way, the song is beautiful in that a person can bring so much life into the world, but sad that the main character feels low enough to embrace his darker, non-life side. 

Another song with essentially the same message is Play This When I’m Gone by MGK, which is (trigger warning) his suicide note to his daughter, Cassie Baker. It is a slower song filled with so much raw emotion; you can tell he really loves his daughter but he’s just internally struggling so much. Again… It's beautiful. 

In addition to those songs, the next one is Tell Me About Tomorrow by JXDN. It is a song about being a friend to someone who struggles with suicidal thouhgts and addiction. I like this song because it adds a different perspective that like no you’re not alone, you go this, I’ll  be there for you and with you. I put this as a reminder that it’s okay to feel the way you do, and there are always people who will love you and support you even through those times. 

The next song, Today by Sueco, is kind of contrasting to the idea above. Instead of feeling low and in pain, he just doesn't feel anything at all. Honestly, sometimes you just want to not feel anything at all and I wanted to recognize that with this song.

Similarly, up next is God Save Me by MGK. This song to me is a plea for help, like yeah I don’t feel right and Im fucked up so please help me (listen to 5150 by MGK as well). I included this because the song embodies the idea that he is depressed, wanted to try therapy, but nothing seems to fix him besides his girl, which to me, shows the idea of not being lonely. 

Finally, the last song I included was I think I’m OKAY by MGK and Yungblood. This song shows him being vulnerable to the world and confronting his fears. I think it is the perfect end to the playlist because while it is all depressing, the song shows hope; he says, “I  guess it’s just my life and I can take it if I wanna”. Sounds depressing right? Wrong. According to the Genius interview with him about this song, the line means he can take the world and make what he wants of it.  I think it is a perfect ending because it gives back hope in times where you only see the dark.

Basically, this playlist is about feeling alone but knowing there's hope, I hope you guys enjoy!

Parker’s already joking about how he basically lives in the interview room before the cameras are rolling, eyes crinkled with mirth as he settles himself onto the seat. A few people offer him a sweet smile or a generous chuckle before he’s expected to collect himself. And he does. Parker will always be Parker but there’s a certain kind of relief that emanates from him even in the rare quiet moments, like a clue that he’s happy to be done with the latest challenge. “I’m ready,” he ultimately chips, now calmly sitting and waiting for the little red light to come alive.

how do you feel about this experience as a whole?

“I would be lying if I didn’t say the last challenge was probably the most difficult one so far, but even then I can’t say I regret joining,” his response was as earnest as ever, but even now it’s clear that there’s a bit of genuine calmness even in his words. “This is my second time doing this program and I really like it. Yeah, I get to learn and grow my skills, but I’m honestly really honored to have even made it this far with the people I have. I honestly look up to and respect my other competitors, not just as my industry seniors but as performers. I don’t think I’d trade this experience for anything.”  

what have you learned about yourself during the past few weeks?

“What have I learned about myself,” Parker repeats carefully, his eyes drifting away from the staff interviewing him to a blank bit of wall slightly to the right while he takes some time to think. It only takes a moment or two before he recenters himself, prepared to answer. “It seems like a copout to say that I learned I love to perform,” he smiles softly before carrying on, “so I say what I’ve learned about myself is I can do hard things, and make important, creative decisions. I think as an idol it’s easy to accept what the company gives us, but to contribute and have a voice in the creative process, and not just be the voice singing a song is really cool.” There’s another pause and he quickly adds in, “also that I look good in pink.”

which preparation stage(s) did you like the most?

Oddly enough, Parker’s answer comes quickly, “I really enjoyed the conception and production part a lot. I’ve dabbled in that kind of stuff before, but actually getting to work with professional producers and writers was really great. I think I learned a lot, and I wish I had more time to learn more from them. In all honesty, it really makes me want to be able to work harder.” Once he reaches the end of the breath, Parker takes a moment before adding one more thing; “What surprised me was the stage production bit. When I sing or listen to music, certain images start to form in my mind, so being able to sort of translate that into an actual stage was really cool. I think it really adds to the song in its own right.”

if you were to win this season, which stage(s) would you like to contribute to?

A small, soft laugh escapes Parker’s mouth before he actually answers. “Definitely in the song production and the stage design for my comeback. Like I said, I really enjoyed learning from others, so while I don’t think I could fully produce or write a whole song on my own yet, I really want to keep learning. I know it sounds corny but I really do want to be like Hyunbin-sunbae one of these days, so I need somewhere to start.” His laugh this time is a bit more embarrassed and he lowers his head a bit, “Not that I’m saying I’ll be as good as him or any of the DBSD members but it’s a start, right?”  

where do you think you could improve if you were to do this again?

“Everything,” he replies firmly, a more serious expression forming on his face. “I don’t think there’s one skill I wouldn’t want to improve, even singing. I think more obviously I could say dancing is something I could and want to improve with more. I really enjoyed the song I ended up with, but I do wonder what it would have been like to be able to add a dance element, or maybe even done another song that would have leaned into that?” He tilts his head, hoping the staff and the audience understands what he means. “But I’m being honest. Think I could have improved on everything, but that’s okay. I want to improve and I want to keep growing as an artist.”

But this was a fun video and song! Very cute. Loved the styling and everything. Loved Mingi being back. Overall, very cute!

Deja Vu - ...okay, listen.

I’ve actually already seen this video and heard this song before. When I was originally trying to get into Kpop, back in April, I came across this video, but overlooked it. I did add the song to my Spotify though, and I’ve listened to it once or twice. However, now I can appreciate it more since I know them a little better and know what to expect more.

So yea, this video is indeed sexy, I agree with the comments, lmao. Also, more men should be slutty in crop tops, that’s all I’m saying.

It’s a great song and video. Love the looks, love the choreography, fantastic.

Eternal Sunshine - Another vibrant and colorful video, I love it. Also, another chill and upbeat song, they’re really good at these types of videos/songs. Again, probably won’t be my favorite, but still a really good one!

I don’t really have much else to say on this one.

Turbulence - First of all, this music video was absolutely stunning. The visuals, the styling, all of it.

They all sound amazing, as well, but that’s a given at this point. I will say these types of songs aren’t my cup of tea, just in terms of whether or not I’ll replay it or not. But it’s a stunning song.

I’m Real - Okay, I have thoughts. I just wanna say, I don’t mean anything by this, I’ll try to explain what I mean the best I can.

Are parts of this video supposed to be funny? Or am I just not getting it? Because I loved it either way, it was very chaotic and fun and I love that, but I also almost feel like I’m missing out on a joke somewhere, I don’t know. I could be reading this completely wrong.

It was a fun video either way, and they seemed to be having a ton of fun, so that’s always a bonus!

Don’t Stop - This one was definitely unusual. Not only was there no English subtitles, so I have no idea what this song is about (I’ll look it up later, lol), but there also wasn’t any visible singing or dancing of any kind. Definitely unusual.

The song was pretty good though, definitely gonna watch a lyric video to figure out who’s singing what. It felt like a very lore heavy video, so when I start getting into the lore, I’m curious to see how it fits (I’m waiting on that, for now, at least until I finish the music videos).

They were all very stunning here, as well, such fantastic looks. I was especially blown away by that shot of Mingi walking towards the camera. Gorgeous.

Rocky (Boxers version) - This was very aggressive, which I suppose was the point, lol.

It’s not my favorite from them, but it was good. The dancing was a lot, lot of hip thrusts, lmao. And the styling wasn’t too bad. Not much to say about this one, honestly.

Guerrilla - This isn’t my favorite from them, but it’s still really good! Another intense and chaotic video/song. Loved the styling and the choreography. And of course, they all sound amazing.

Probably should have spread these out more, because I think I’m saying less as I go on because I’m getting a bit wiped out, lol. I also have really bad heartburn, and it’s very distracting.

Sing Me a Song

“You Geralt of Rivia’s bard?”

Jaskier looks up from his notepad and grins at the man who’s just sat at the opposite side of the table.

“Technically, I used to be,” the bard says, taking a sip of his ale. “We had a tiny misunderstanding last year. I’m sure he’s gonna be fine, though, I’m just giving him some time to cool down and wallow in self-pity.”

Jaskier frowns, because his brain has finally caught up with his mouth and informs him that even though the man who asked the question is very pretty (and he is – a bit short, but lean and clearly very agile, brown-skinned, with dark, wavy hair and stunningly unnatural green eyes), he also has got two big, scary swords strapped to his back, way too many scars and has, in fact, only one green eye, the other being covered by an eye patch, presumably missing.

And then there’s the Cat school medallion on his chest.

As Geralt would say… fuck.

“Unless you’re here to kidnap me and torture me to lure him into a trap. If that’s the case, I’ve never met a Geralt of Rivia in my life. Also, if you harm a hair on my head, he will hunt you down and kill you, very slowly and painfully. Just a heads up,” Jaskier smiles, utterly failing to sound at least a little bit threatening.

“Thanks for the warning,” the Witcher laughs. “But I actually need you to write me a song.”

“Sorry, I’m afraid this bard already has a Witcher to praise,” Jaskier protests, shaking his head firmly.

“Ugh. Who says I want praise?” the man says, making a face. “I just can’t seem to find a friend of mine, so I need to make him find me.”

“With a song? Do I look like a fucking pied piper?” Jaskier smirks.

“A little, yeah.”

“Fair enough. What’s in it for me?”

“What do you think is going to happen once Geralt hears that his bard has found himself a new muse?” the Witcher grins.

“Oh,” Jaskier says, chuckling. “Oh, but that’s good.”

“Are you in, then?”

“Absolutely. And, uhm… What did you say your name was?”

“By the gods, where are my manners?” the Witcher laughs. “I’m Aiden.”

Geralt places two tankards of ale on the table and sits down with a grunt.

“Don’t tell me you’re getting old, Wolf,” his brother Lambert smirks and promptly pulls one of the tankards closer. “Because that almost sounded like Vesemir when he’s trying to get up from his chair.”

“You’re so fucking funny,” Geralt murmurs.

“I know, right?” Lambert grins, tucking a strand of curly red hair behind his ear. “So, how’s life on the Path without your beloved bard?”

“Not my bard.”

“So pretty fucking terrible, eh?” Lambert chuckles.

“Fuck off, Lambert.”

“You’re being very nice and friendly today, you know?”

“I bought you a drink. So shut up and… drink.”

Lambert shrugs and for once does what he’s told. Within a few seconds, half of the tankard’s content vanishes.

“If it’s any consolation, life without my Cat is also pretty fucking unbearable,” he says then.

“Hm.”

“Oh, really, Geralt? You’re using your famous hm against me? Me, your brother?!”

Geralt groans.

“By the gods… Why can’t I just run into Eskel for once? Why does it always have to be you?”

“You’re just lucky, I guess.”

“Lucky. Yeah.”

Lambert rolls his eyes and focuses on his ale again – until the local bard grabs his lute and starts playing a slow, romantic ballad. Lambert growls.

“Fuck, I hate that song!”

“Why?” Geralt blinks, because he’s never heard the song before, and to be perfectly honest, it doesn’t really sound that bad.

“A brown-skinned woman with dark hair who’s seemingly killed, then comes back to life already plotting her revenge, only to find out that her lover’s already avenged her? Always reminds me of Aiden.”

“Aiden wasn’t exactly… A woman, was he?”

“He also hasn’t come back to life, as far as I know,” Lambert mutters.

“Who wrote it?” Geralt frowns, listening carefully. “It sounds like Jaskier’s work.”

“Some Master Dandelion. Never heard of him, but it seems he’s very popular now.”

“Hmmm…”

“Oh, not again!” Lambert groans.

“It just… It really does sound like Jaskier’s song.”

“You just fucking miss the bard, Geralt, that’s all.”

“No. No, I actually think…”

“That might be exactly the problem,” Lambert says and places his empty tankard back on the table. “The second round’s on me.”

“Seems like your plan’s not working as intended,” Jaskier comments. He’s spent weeks traveling with Aiden, and they still haven’t even heard about another Witcher trying to find them.

“I’m aware,” Aiden mutters, chewing his dinner without even noticing its taste – which is, honestly, probably for the best. “Could you be, like… less subtle?”

Jaskier shrugs.

“I suppose.”

“Fine,” Aiden nods. “Do it.”

“It’s a man now,” Geralt frowns, listening to the song he’s heard countless times already. “That’s new.”

“Looks like Master Dandelion might like to, uhm, dual wield,” Lambert snorts.

“It still sounds like Jaskier’s work.”

“Does Jaskier like to dual wield?”

“Hmm,” Geralt says dreamily.

“All the more reason to apologize, then, eh?”

“Oh, shut up, Lambert…”

“Still not working!” Aiden groans. He’s been waiting for three months for his Wolf to find him, and to no avail.

“I could, you know… Try something more obvious,” Jaskier offers.

“Please.”

“It’s a cat now,” Geralt blinks. “Dark-skinned, dark-haired… cat.”

Lambert sighs.

“Yeah, I hate those fucking metaphors.”

“I’m starting to think I should have just… kept trying to find him,” Aiden sighs, staring out of the tavern’s window.

Jaskier, cheeks still flushed from his performance, downs his ale and shakes his head.

“Don’t give up hope just yet,” he says. “I’ve already made a few changes to the song.”

“Oh, have you?” Aiden smirks. “Does it now say Lambert, I’m alive you moron, stop hiding and fucking find me?”

“Well, not yet… But almost.”

“Great. I can’t wait to hear it.”

Lambert is staring at yet another local bard singing the fucking ballad. He doesn’t even blink. Geralt is getting a little worried that his brother’s brain might have actually exploded.

“It says a Cat Witcher now,” he says, hoping it would get a reaction out of Lambert.

The redhead finally blinks. That’s probably good.

“A Cat Witcher who comes back to life only to find out his Wolf lover has already avenged him,” Geralt adds.

Lambert blinks again.

“And you know, I’m almost sure that this Master Dandelion is just Jaskier’s new alias.”

“I’m gonna fucking kill him,” Lambert mutters when the song finally comes to its end.

“Which one of them?” Geralt smirks.

“Both of them!” Lambert growls. “I swear to gods, if I find out your stupid bard stole my Cat…”

“Excuse me, madam,” Geralt says to the innkeeper who’s just brought them their dinner. “Where did your bard learn this song?”

“That sappy ballad?” the innkeeper frowns. “From this Master Dandelion himself. He passed through the town last week with a Witcher.”

“And Master Dandelion…”

“You know the bard that calls himself Jaskier? It’s him with a fancy hat on,” she smirks.

“About this Witcher,” Lambert growls. “Does he look like in the song?”

“Pretty much, yeah. Kind of small for a Witcher, and almost too pretty, you know, but we had a little griffin problem and he slayed that beast like it was nothing, so…”

“I’m so gonna kill them both,” Lambert murmurs while Geralt has to try very hard not to chuckle.

“Would you happen to know where were they heading?” he asks.

“I would,” the woman says and looks at the Witcher expectantly.

“I see,” Geralt sighs. “You have another monster problem, don’t you?”

“Well. It turns out the griffin probably had a mate…”

“Of course it fucking did,” Geralt nods and picks up his fork. He simply refuses to deal with this with an empty stomach…

Jaskier critically eyes the clothes he’s picked for tonight’s performance.

“What do you think, Aiden?” he asks his companion. “Isn’t the purple a bit too much? It’s a small town, after all. Wouldn’t the steel blue look better?”

“I don’t know, I like the red one best,” Aiden shrugs from his spot on the bed.

“Yeah, yeah, I know. Reminds you of Lambert’s hair,” Jaskier says, rolling his eyes. “Melitele’s tits, I wish he’d find us already, because this is getting really–”

As if on cue, the door of the room slams open and a big, red-haired man walks in.

“You fucking bitch!” he yells when he sees Aiden.

The dark-haired Witcher beams and gets to his feet.

“Lambs!”

“Oh. Okay. That was fast,” Jaskier nods.

Lambert growls and grabs Aiden by the collar.

“Asshole!” he hisses. “I fucking mourned you!”

“Oh, honey, that’s so sweet,” Aiden smiles.

Lambert pushes him against the wall, so hard that Aiden grunts.

“I cried for you!”

“In my defense, it wasn’t exactly my fault,” Aiden smiles.

Jaskier inches towards the door.

“I guess I’ll just… leave you two to it.”

Needless to say, Lambert ignores him completely.

“I fucking avenged you!”

“Yes, that was very kind of you,” Aiden grins, utterly unaffected by Lambert’s angry face so close to his own. “You saved me a lot of trouble.”

Lambert groans, buries his face in Aiden’s shoulder and sighs deeply.

“You fucker,” he mutters.

“Yeah, I missed you too, puppy,” Aiden smiles, wrapping his arms around Lambert.

Jaskier, who’s already standing in the doorway, places his hand on his heart and takes a deep breath.

“Oh,” he whispers. “I shall write the most beautiful ballad about this… Ow!”

He’s unceremoniously dragged out of the room and this time it’s his turned to be slammed against the wall by a big, angry Witcher – but this one is white-haired and dressed all in black.

“Geralt!” Jaskier exclaims, his face brightening up.

“You won’t write a fucking thing,” Geralt growls.

“Is that so? May I ask why, dear heart?”

“Because you’re mine. My bard. And if I ever find out you’re writing about another Witcher again–”

“Then what?” Jaskier asks, cocking his head. “But before you answer, I’d like to remind you that I am not yours anymore, as you have made it quite clear on the mountain that you are not interested in having me as a companion–”

Jaskier is effectively shut up by Geralt’s lips pressing against his with determination that makes it absolutely clear that Geralt hasn’t merely lost his balance and happened to be falling in Jaskier’s general direction.

“Mine,” he growls.

“Well,” Jaskier sighs, slipping his fingers into Geralt’s hair. “When you put it like that… Fuck the mountain, I suppose.”

“Fuck the mountain,” Geralt agrees. “But I’m sorry. For what I said.”

“Apology very much accepted,” Jaskier laughs. “I’d ask you to fuck me, but I’m afraid my room is currently… occupied.”

Lambert’s loud moan only confirms Jaskier’s statement.

“Hm,” Geralt hums. “Do you think this tavern has a bath? I think I still have some griffin blood in my hair from last week.”

“Oh,” Jaskier purrs. “Oh, yes. And I’m sure I could get some chamomile oil…”

They hear another moan, this time Aiden’s.

“What are we waiting for, then?” Geralt grins and grabs Jaskier’s hand. “Come on, bard. We have some catching up to do…”

Asks Compilation 09/06

God, I really should, shouldn’t I? I’ve heard only good things about it, and obviously I love alt-self shenanigans. I might go in a week or two - it’s been way too long since I took a trip to the cinema.

Yeah!!! Welcome to the party! It’s a good time for you to catch up, since I’m pausing for a week or so before I start Act 5. (I’ll probably start it late next week, but that’s subject to change!)

Never too late to analyze something you love! And doing a close reading of something you’ve read before sometimes works even better, because you know exactly how things are going to pay off. You can see all the foreshadowing you missed!

The obvious answer is Dave and Bro, but I think the most likely Player to do the tbh stare is actually AT.

I think he stared at his computer exactly like this when Dave rapped him into oblivion. 

Totally missed it. We don’t learn muck Mark Twain Lore here, but it seems that in the universe of Homestuck, he lived a double life...

Who knew not having a schedule to speak of would ever be a positive? My old manager clearly didn’t know what he was talking about. 

It really does keep happening. I’ve already made an OC, and it’s a good thing I don’t write fanfic, because otherwise I’d be fending the writing impulses off with a stick.

Honestly, my excitement is immeasurable. SAHLEE is evolving...

Been a while since I watched any new ones, but yeah, I’m a huge anime fan! I actually re-watched Mob Psycho 100 last week in preparation for the new season. The final two arcs of the manga are fantastic, and I, for one, cannot wait. 

I watched Your Name a couple of weeks ago, and I’d definitely recommend that. It’s gorgeous, and the story goes to some places that I didn’t expect it to, going in. 

I could talk a lot about the movies I like - and I will, if people are interested - but it’d take a while to gather my thoughts. Like I said before, it’s hard for me to pick out favorites. 

They’re completely unnecessary - but then again, so are their glasses and headbands. It is my intuition that Sburb wouldn’t make it so easy for Players to realize that they weren’t born naturally, since they’re supposed to learn about their destiny themselves. I think they probably have bellybuttons. 

All I’m getting from it is that Life does not equal Doom, which I’m sure is too obvious to be the right answer. In other words, this is just another intriguing hint about what’s up with Aspects.

That game’s a real standout among idle games. Last time I played, I’d just finished completing all the game’s Milestones, and I won’t spoil you on what happens next ;) 

It’s funny how things work out. Weird chains of causality aren’t something that Homestuck has a monopoly on!

I have to wonder what Toby would be up to now without Homestuck’s influence. Would we have got radically different versions of Undertale/Deltarune?

Definitely going to do it! I’m actually probably going to catch up on it in the next week or two, before Act 5.

The question of probability as it applies to Homestuck’s cosmology is kind of complicated. Sburb’s lore seems to treat things like the Paradox Clones as certain outcomes, with a probability of 1, even as its multiverse disproves this. 

This is the kind of thing I really want to see more of, going forward. Just what are the real rules here?

It would be kind of funny if, when the kids complete the game and exit the Incipisphere, all the trolls’ messages instantly turn into gibberish, because they never actually shared a language. 

lmaoo considering how the trolls talk to these kids, especially in earlier conversations, I think it’s more likely they found a human disetiquette book!

I need you to know that I spent an hour earlier trying to edit Jack Noir into that Eggman scene I referenced earlier, so I could post it with this ask. I failed, but this ask succeeded in making me laugh my ass off.

This is a good point, regarding why Jade’s prototyping didn’t show up on Prospit’s iconography. Whatever comes out of Jade’s kernel, it will enter the Spire of a planet in ruins. There might not even be anyone to see it arrive.
