We have seen church weddings (both big and small) with Polin & Saphne, and smaller weddings inside of family homes with Francesca & John and Philipa & Albion.
I really hope we get a beautifully joyous little outdoor country wedding for Benophie in season 4. Maybe in the Bridgerton garden or even at a pretty little chapel near My Cottage.
Bonus of we get to see Newton watching the nuptials from the flower field before running towards love himself, with one of the neighbor’s dogs.

Amazing. The kitchen looks like ancient catacombs. Look at the old vats that they must've stomped on grapes in and the old wine barrels on display. How cool is that? The nuns must've had purple feet for sure.

mark lee is the boy you spend spring break with. you’d managed to get on a study abroad trip to europe for the vacation, but as the only person from your friend group going, you’d worried about spending the week and a half alone. thank god, then, that mark is also the only one from his friend group going.
you connect during the bi-weekly class sessions leading up to your departure, sitting alone near the back of the small lecture hall. you chat before the faculty leader starts speaking and you giggle amongst yourselves when you have to step into the hallway to practice getting on and off the subway, your arms linked so you don’t get “left behind.” when you both decide to take the charter bus to the airport, mark is the one who packs his suitcase early and heads to your apartment to help you stay awake and do last minute cleaning before he drives you both to the meeting point. you sleep on his shoulder the entire bus ride, in the seats at your gate, you even manage to have seats next to each other on your overnight flight and you fall asleep watching a movie together and sharing your blanket.
spring break is full of the two of you wandering rome together, sharing cups piled high with gelato at the piazza navona, and navigating the parisian subway from the city center to the catacombs. he takes pictures of you on his film camera in st. peter’s basilica; you sneak a selfie together with the ceiling of the sistine chapel, your faces cut off halfway. you climb the bell tower of the duomo in florence, laughing breathlessly when you make it to the top, and you walk the gardens of the palace of versailles together, shoulders brushing as you take in the scenery and chill air of a mid-march morning. on your final night, you watch the eiffel tower glitter from montparnasse and you swear mark looks like he wants to kiss you; you want him to.
but then the trip is over and you go back home. you share seats on the charter bus again and you fall asleep on his shoulder again. he takes you back to your apartment, walks you to your door all bleary eyed and sleepy. you’re worried that this is the last time you’ll see him as you stand at your window and watch him get into his car and drive off. looking at the picture a stranger took of you and mark on the ponte vecchio, his arm around your shoulders and his gaze fixed on you rather than the camera, you realize you cannot let this be the end.
Tumblr media
huang renjun is a missed connection. he’s the boy you see all over town, but never work up the courage to introduce yourself to. he’s tall and lanky, always dressed so nice and looking so out of place among everyone else. he’s got soft features, all gentle edges and round, sad eyes. you always find yourself wanting to wrap him up in your arms, fantasizing what his body slotted against yours would feel like. is he warm, soft as he looks?
you see him at your favorite cafe, keeping to himself while he studies and drinks his coffee and picks at his french toast crepe. you spot him on campus, backpack slung over his shoulder on his way to class or laying out on the greens and reading a book. some days, you’re lucky enough to catch the same subway car as him, earbuds in and his eyes trained on the horizon through the window. sometimes, you even end up in the same aisle as him at the convenience store down the street from your apartment. you stand opposite each other, considering your different choices of ramen.
still, with all your instances of seeing him, you’ve never scrounged together the courage you feel you need to talk to him for the first time. even if you could, one glimpse of that lopsided grin of his would have you crumbling anyways, a weakness before you even get the chance to ask for his name. so you resign yourself to only admire him from afar and he, completely unknown to him, will forever be known as the “cute cafe boy” amongst your friend group.
you spend months like that, cherishing the glimpses you get of him. because you often exist in the same spaces with the same schedule, like the cafe on tuesday afternoons at eleven in the morning, you decide to give the barista money one day, tell them that you want to pay for his coffee when he gets here, describe him as the tall, lanky boy with the big brown eyes and gentle voice; they always know who you’re talking about. you tell them to not tell him who paid for it, just that a stranger wanted to pay forward some kindness.
when he arrives and orders, the barista relays the message and they swear up and down the wall it was a stranger, but the glance they cast over his left shoulder is telling. when he turns away, his eyes land on you, too wrapped up in your laptop to notice. but he’s too shy to say anything and so when he gets home, he writes a missed connection posting on your community’s page, the same one your friend frequents to look for free or cheap furniture.
you were at the greenhouse cafe today (tuesday) around 11:15 in the morning. i went there to study and get coffee, but the barista said someone had paid for it already. you wanted to stay a stranger, but if you’re the person i think you are, i want to thank you properly. ramen at the convenience store by our apartment buildings?
maybe your friend oughta pass this on to you.
Tumblr media
lee jeno is a friend of a friend, who your friend manages to convince to fake date you for a couple of group outings. she drags you to so many big group events, like drinks at the favorite bar or clubbing or even group movie nights at apartments. out of a group of ten, you and jeno are the only two single ones. it can be annoying being the only singles, especially when you’ve made it perfectly clear that you don’t have an issue with not seeing anyone right now; it’ll happen when it happens, you find yourself saying at least once a week, it’s just not a priority right now and i don’t mind it.
jeno faces the same line of irritating questioning, so when you’re out with your friends beom gyu and haechan (the instigators of the group), haechan suggests a scheme to get the rest of your friends off your backs. “just pretend you’re dating for a little while. act a little coupley at our hangouts and then, like… just say that you decided your lives are going in different directions, so you’ve broken up, but it’s amicable and there’s no hard feelings! simple as that.”
beomgyu cosigns almost immediately, a mischievous glint in his eyes, and it kind of scares you. the number of times this duo has instigated things, harmless as they may be, is something to be worried about. you’re a little skeptical, but when you look over at jeno, he’s looking back at you. he gives you a nonchalant shrug and an easy it would get them off our backs for a while. it’s not like we have to actually go out on dates or anything.
it’d just be acting, sure, and you’ve never particularly been into jeno, but his last sentence stings a little, somewhere deep and dark within you. regardless, you ignore the subtle hurt and you nod, mimicking his shrug. sure, why not?
the next time the whole group is together, you and jeno sit together, shoulder to shoulder. almost immediately, yeji picks up on it and nearly squeals. what is this? are you dating? when jeno confirms, the whole table starts shouting, including beomgyu and haechan, the masterminds behind this whole thing (beomgyu tells you later that it was to make it look like they were surprised too). she asks when it happened, why, how, congratulates you both on your new relationship, says it’ll be great for you guys to not be ninth and tenth wheeling on hangouts anymore.
you both go on like this for a while, showing up to the bar or the club or your favorite local diner or even hangouts at someone’s apartment and sitting together, jeno’s arm draped around you or your head on his shoulder. you show up and leave hand in hand. every once in a while, he’ll even drop kisses to your temple or hairline to really seal the deal.
but your mind can’t tell the difference between what’s real and what’s fake, and the lines start to blur. you swear you’re starting to imagine things: fond glances from him, is he holding you just a little tighter or is that a figment of your imagination, why’s he lingering at your front door after dropping you off at home? there’s no chance that’s all for show, right?
Tumblr media
lee haechan is the neighbor of the family you’re working as an au pair for. you’re young and fresh out of college, but instead of going straight into a regular job, you decided to go abroad. you were lucky to find a great job as an au pair for a couple and their seven year old daughter; they offered room and board, a good salary, and weekends off (unless needed) in exchange for your services in taking care of their child and helping maintain the house. you confirmed almost immediately and left for their country within the week, nothing but two suitcases and a carry-on.
during your first week, you stuck mainly to your host family’s house, only really leaving to drop off or pick up the daughter from school. but when the weekend rolls around and the parents are off work, they tell you to do some exploring, giving you their personal recommendations for all kinds of stores, restaurants, and cafes. the mother ushers you goodnaturedly to the front door and tells you not to come back for at least two hours, to enjoy and get to know the area, especially if you’ll be around for as long as they need you.
so with a little bit of pocket money and your backpack, you’re left standing on the front lawn with no earthly idea where to go first. you’re just about to pull out your phone and look up the closest location they recommended when a call of hey! startles you. you nearly jump out of your skin and turn to look at the person who interrupted you. he’s decently tall and broad with honey bronze skin and a life-changing smile.
he waves you over and meet him at the edge of the front lawn, his eyes bright and airy, untouched by negativity. he introduces himself as haechan, the grandson of the woman who lives next door. he tells you that he’s going to university here in the city and lives with his grandma, which surprises you; it’s really not as bad as it could be, a twenty something year old living with his grandma, he tells you, i come home to a warm meal every night. but he shakes his head, getting himself back on track.
“anyways, my grandma mentioned something about the neighbors getting a nanny and i haven’t seen you around before, so that must be you, right?”
you nod, telling him you’re an au pair (fancy term, he interjects. cooler than nanny) from abroad and you’ve never visited this country before. he smiles, radiant and welcoming, and suggests that he give you a tour of all the best places, promising to make it worth your while. when you mention that the parents told you not to come back for at least a couple of hours, he nods dutifully and says, “i’m the best tour guide you could possibly had. we’ll be gone for four hours minimum.”
it makes you laugh, the look on his face, and infected by his sunny personality, you shrug, giving him a why not? you could do with a local guide.
“lead the way.”
Tumblr media
na jaemin is the frat boy whose friends dare him to date you. he sees you often at the parties his frat throws, always in tow with your more outgoing, popular friends. he’s not entirely sure how you become a hot topic among his friend group (he thinks it’s because you’re so different from the rest of your group), but you do. on nights they get drunk, they often end up discussing you, how you ended up in that gang of friends when you so clearly do not fit in with them; even when you do look like you’re enjoying yourself at a party, you never quite get to the level your friends do.
one night, the discussion turns to a rumor that they heard going around about you: you’ve never had a boyfriend. his friends laugh about it, busting their sides over something so insignificant and so not their business. jaemin doesn’t find any amusement in it; if anything, he thinks it’s kind of cute, if it’s even true. the boys take notice of his silence and when seungmin casts a scheming glance around the table, jaemin feels a chill run through him.
“jaemin,” the younger boy drawls. “dare ya to date ‘em.”
jaemin immediately shakes his head. “the fuck’s wrong with you? that’s fucked up. i’m not doing that for a stupid ass dare.”
seungmin shrugs and leans back in his seat, head tilted back as he takes a drink out of his natty light. a laugh ripples across the group of boys and jaemin has to hold himself back from rolling his eyes; he’s not cruel and he’s not doing that to you, not when you’ve been nothing but sweet to him in the few conversations you’ve had. but then jeongin, the worst culprit of provoking everyone and instigating shit, says it’s because jaemin is too goody-too-shoes, too lame to do something and against his better judgment, jaemin jumps in, heat creeping under his skin, scorching him from the inside out.
“fine, i’ll do it, but i’m expecting compensation for any date,” he says hotly. “you’re paying for it all since it was your stupid ass idea.”
the group almost protests, but jaemin silences them with a deadly look. he reminds them a second time that they’re the ones who came up with the idea, he’s not paying for this out of his own pocket (at least not yet).
when he waltzes up to you at the next party, a seagram’s escape from his own personal stash in his hand for you, you’re immediately suspicious. but his smile is soft, his gaze impossibly softer, the whole of it disarming. he chats you up easily and by the end of the night, your number is secure in his phone, your text log pinned to the top of his messages, and a potential plan to go get breakfast at a hole-in-the-wall diner next week. he smiles when you turn back and wave to him as you’re leaving.
this whole thing is supposed to be a bet, but he’s always wanted to get to know you better, so if he can get his stupid ass friends to bankroll all the dates he plans to take you on, he figures it’ll be killing two birds with one stone.
Tumblr media
zhong chenle is the boy your friend has a crush on. he’s in your general psychology class; he sits a couple of rows behind you in the lecture hall, always has the best discussion board posts, always sets the high score for every test, quiz, and assignment. he’s also involved in the choir on campus and he lives in the same dorm building that you and your friend do.
you see him on campus in passing all the time, frequenting the dining hall and the library on the same schedules. your friend, iseul, is almost always with you during these instances too and she starts crushing… hard. you can’t say you blame her: he’s pretty and intelligent and kind of mysterious. you’ve heard whispers of him being the campus crush, which doesn’t surprise you in the slightest.
one friday night, a little bit gone off a blue razzberry beatbox, iseul pleads to you on your dorm room floor, kneeled on the hard linoleum floor and hands pressed together, the whole nine yards. she wants you to help her get with chenle, she really likes him but because she doesn’t have a way of meeting him naturally, you’re her next best bet. she makes you a million promises: she’ll do your laundry for a month, she’ll buy the groceries for the room, she’ll buy your coffee at the campus cafe for the next year, whatever it takes.
she’s near tears when you finally cave in and help her; she hasn’t spoken a single word to that boy, but she’s already so whipped and you’re not sure if you’re ready to hear her whine if you say no. she’s very lucky that you have a group project for your gen psych class and chenle is in your cohort. you don’t have a single clue about how you’re going to play cupid for her, but you suppose you’ll figure it out as you go.
when you, chenle, and the other two members of your group meet for the first time, you’re ready to help iseul bag the man of her dreams. but the more your group meets, the more time you spend sitting next to chenle, his body heat tangible and his cologne invading your senses, the more you exchange ideas and small talk, the more you realize that you like him quite a bit, more than you should.
and then you start hanging out with him outside of the project too, getting coffee or sharing a table at the library or eating dinner on the nights that iseul doesn’t join you for a meal. he laughs at your jokes, asks questions, talks to you about things other than academics. the more you spend your time with him, the harder it gets to want to matchmake him with iseul.
but you made her a promise and you’d be a bad friend to break that promise.
Tumblr media
park jisung is your first love, even if he doesn’t know it. he’s a million of your favorite romance tropes rolled into one: childhood best friend, boy next door, campus crush. everything about him is so sweet and kind and cute, it’s next to impossible to not fall in love with him, not when he has everything in the world going for him.
you grow up together, your moms best friends since high school, so you’ve been raised as best friends since birth. you’ve had joint birthdays, matching gifts, a shared cake, all of it. all of your big duo achievements have been celebrated together and you’ve been each other’s dates to every high school dance, including your senior prom. it’s just always been you and jisung, always intertwined, forever written in the stars.
you both decide to go to the same college, manage to get assigned to the same dorm building and into the same gen ed classes because neither of you can imagine going through university without the other. it’s not that you’re codependent (at least not unhealthily so), but he’s your self-proclaimed life partner. you don’t have to follow the same path, just ones that are parallel to each other.
but when you start university, he quickly becomes the heartthrob of your dormitory and then the entire campus. jisung, as he always has been, is oblivious to the extra attention he gets from your classmates, the glances they shoot him in the dining hall, their less than innocent invitations to hang out in their dorm rooms. despite your decades-long friendship, you’ve never really talked about crushes or love or anything of the sort and he’s never given any indication that he likes you romantically, so there’s no reason for you to feel that sharp, ugly pang of jealousy in your gut when another classmate leans a little too close towards him to ask a question while you’re standing in line at the dining hall, waiting to swipe your meal cards.
but you do. it is sharp and painful and terrifying the way you feel so viscerally upset when your peers, girls and guys alike, try to make passes at jisung. you always knew you felt differently about your childhood friend, the one you’ve known since literal diapers, but not to this extent. and you realize one night while you’re drinking contraband alcohol in your dorm room that your feelings stem from a place in your heart you can trace all the way back to eighth grade when he asked you to be his date to the valentine’s day dance when the person you asked rejected you very publicly.
park jisung is not yours, not officially, but your heart has belonged to him for years and you’re too deep in to take it back. maybe if he was just a little less oblivious or you a little less anxious to put your friendship on the line for it.

Chapter 28
Tumblr media
Warnings: None
Copyright: I do not own any Marvel characters or locations. However, I do own a few OCs like Elizabeth, Katherine, Stacy, and Jessie. I do not condone any copying of this.
You and T'Challa were standing in a chapel like building, black twine encircling both of your wrists while the Wakandan. . . priest(?) spoke Wakandan during the entire ritual. You and T'Challa stood there, staring into each others eyes before the black twine was burned, letting it all burn away to ashes below your feet.
T'Challa swept you up into a passionate kiss in front of all of Wakanda, which was met with the cheers of the people, screams of little kids, and a few cat calls from some of his friends from the border tribe.
Soon after, you were saying good-bye to Okoye, Nakia, Shuri, and his mother before very quickly heading onto the Quinjet and heading home.
Though you had loved Wakanda, you couldn't wait to be back in New York. The others seemed to feel the same way.
You were curled up between Tony and Stephen, both of them holding you. You were feeling uncomfortable on the plane ride there, every bump made you groan in pain, willing yourself not to throw up. You wished Stephen would just portal you guys to the Avengers compound.
However when the Quinjet finally touched down the ramp unloaded, you saw that you weren't near the Avengers tower. In fact, you weren't even in the city. You weren't even sure you were still in New York.
"Where are we?" You asked, looking around.
There was a very, very large mansion spread out on a large plane of green grass. There was large forest surrounding it around the back and sides. Both the front and back lawns looked absolutely huge and upon looking around, you could tell that this place would have everything you guys needed.
"Welcome home." Tony said with a grin.
Your heart melted a little. Bucky picked you up, carrying you over the threshold before putting you down inside the house.
The inside of the house was huge, but there wasn't a single spot of room wasted. There was a living room, a dining room, a very large kitchen and breakfast room, three offices, two bathrooms, and a very large library on the bottom floor. Upstairs was another two bathrooms, a dozen bedrooms, and a few balconies, one of which led out to the deck outside.
There was also a basement that contained a movie theater, a workout room, a gaming area completely with both board/physical games, a pool table, an air hockey table, along with two TVs that were equipped with every device available.
The backyard was very large, with only a huge pool, complete with a diving board and water slide alone with a greenhouse farther out. There were several fruits and vegetables growing in the greenhouse.
"This place is amazing Tony." You complimented after you guys had settled back down in the living room. Your stomach was rolling a little, but you weren't sure if that was because you were getting pre-period cramps, or if you were still feeling guilty about the whole Dora Milaje incident.
Tony grinned, proud of himself, "Glad you like it gorgeous."
"What state are we in?" You asked, curious.
"Ohio." Tony said with a shrug. "It's not to far from New York, but it had a lot more land than the ones we were looking at in New York. Besides, it's a bit quieter out here in the country."
"This is actually set on a nice plot of land." Stephen said next to you. "you could technically start an entire farm on here if you wanted."
"Maybe we could bring Samantha and Stella over, eh Buck?" You asked, winking at him.
He chuckled nervously, brushing his hair back from his face as Sam and Steve both turned to look at him.
"Who are Samantha and Stella?" Steve asked.
"His goats in Wakanda." T'Challa answered. "His milk goats."
You were now imagining all of them living on a farm. Wearing plaid flannel shirts and blue jeans. Chopping wood. Milking cows. Shearing sheep. Feeding the pigs and chickens. Collecting eggs. You could imagine some of them in the gardens, working the plants.
Steve, Bucky, and Sam were the easiest to imagine this scene along with Rhodey, Clint, and Fury. The others just seemed impossible. You didn't think you'd seen Loki wear jeans once. Thor maybe as well could pull off the farmer look as well. T'Challa, Tony, and Stephen on the other hand? Absolutely not. Tony only wore suits, Stephen rarely changed out of his wizarding clothes, and T'Challa wore traditional clothes almost all of the time.
As the night wore on, movies playing on the TV, you started to drift off. You could feel Stephen picking you up in his arms, bidding the others good-night as he carried you up the stairs and into one of the bedrooms. You knew Tony was around as you could hear him talking softly to Stephen.
"Hey sweetheart," Tony said softly as they sat you upright on the bed. You blinked before leaning your head on his shoulder, trying to fall asleep. He chuckled gently. "You gotta get into some pajamas. You're going to be uncomfortable if you stay in that dress all night."
You ignored him, making him sigh in fake exasperation. "You want me to undress you then?"
You nodded, already half-asleep. You could feel his fingers unzipping the dress behind you, sliding the shoulders of it off, before you were nodding off.
The last thing you felt was being slipped under silk sheets, a warm arm holding you tightly to their chest.
***
You bolted upright, leaping out of the bed, stumbling into the bathroom, the door banging against the wall behind you.
"Sweetheart?" Tony's tired voice was drowned out as you vomited into the toilet. You heard feet hit the floor behind you before Tony was pulling your hair back as you emptied your stomach into the bowl.
Once you were done, you rested your forehead on your arms.
"Darling?" Stephen's voice was behind you now as well.
"Shit." You groaned. "I feel terrible."
Stephen's hand landed on your forehead, "You do feel warm. Tones, do you mind going downstairs, grabbing the ginger ale and some saltine crackers. I think there might already be a thermometer up here."
"There is." Tony said, knocking on one of the drawers as he passed by to leave the room.
Stephen rummaged in the drawer to pull out the under the tongue temperature reader. He pulled off the plastic cap, writing your name on the back with sharpie before crouching in front of you. "Open Y/N."
You did, letting him stick it under your tongue. You held it there until it beeped, showing that you had a 103 degree fever. The news made you vomit again, this time Stephen being the one to hold your hair back.
After he figured you were done, he helped you gently back into bed. Tony came back with a cool glass of ginger ale, so cold that perspiration was already dropping down the side of the cup. A box of saltine crackers was under his arm and he was holding a large pot in the other hand- probably so you could throw up without running to the bathroom.
"Here we go baby girl." Tony said, sitting next to me on the bed.
"Tony, you'll get sick." You mumbled, taking a small sip of the ginger ale, nibbling at a cracker.
"You need to keep up your fluids," Stephen said, completely disregarding your worry. "Salt isn't particularly good when you're sick so if you're going to be eating crackers to settle your stomach, you need to keep it balanced with plenty of water and ginger ale." [You could supplement with Sprite if you want to]
You nodded.
"I'm kind've disappointed." Tony said softly and both you and Stephen looked at him. He gave a small shrug, "Was kind've hoping you had morning sickness."
You smiled a little, "Sorry."
Tony shook his head, "I just want you to get better."
The others visited you throughout the day, which was met with your weak protests. But they figured if they were going to get sick, it was better they were all sick at once than having them someone sick every three days for a month.
They were all so sweet and attentive, laying with you, making sure that you got enough fluids. Loki loved coming in and reading more of that poetry to you. For example, the poem the second poem that he read you had laughing so hard that you got hiccups:
starkle, starkle, little twink, Who the hell are you I think. I'm not under what you call The alcofluence of incohol. I'm just a little slort of sheep, I'm not drunk like thinkle peep. I don't know who is me yet, But the drunker I stand here the longer I get So just give me one more fink to drill my cup, 'Cause I got all day sober to Sunday up.
Loki, not knowing the song of twinkle twinkle little star was a bit confused about why you liked the poem so much. Despite this, he enjoyed that you were laughing at it, and let you read it over and over as you hiccuped, tears streaming down your face with laughter.
[I mean- I though it was funny]
And then there was another one that sounded just beautiful, if not a little creepy.
There's a truth not many know, About the world while you're asleep That the wind slips through your window, To steal the secrets that you keep, And if you don't believe me, Then you're welcome to your doubt, But have you never stopped to wonder, What it's whispering about? What else in the world Could make the treetops bend and sway But the weight of all the words, that no one ever dared to say? And since it's while your sleeping Secrets are easiest to take It's no surprise those with the deepest are the ones kept wide awake.
"Is that why you don't sleep?" You asked Loki teasingly.
Loki chuckled, appreciating your humor. "Naturally my Queen."
After you'd gotten better, most everyone else had either gotten it and it had passed, or they hadn't gotten it at all. Except Bucky who had it really bad.
He was shivering under his blankets, his nose red and his lips blue. Except that he always kept saying he was hot, trying to throw the blanket off of him.
For the most part, Steve, Sam, and Stephen stayed with him, taking care of him. But you tried to get some time with him, curling up with him while he pressed his cold face into your neck.
You wanted to surprised him for when he got better, so you grabbed Loki and the two of you went out into the town.
"What are we getting?" Loki questioned, following you along. You both ignored pointing fingers and stares from passerby's.
"You'll see." You said, gripping his hand before dragging him to a pet store. You and Loki looked around before you found two kittens and a puppy that you both wanted and were sure that the others would want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[The two kittens are a species called Munchkin kitties. I don't know the dog breed I'm sorry]
The first kitten was a white kitten with grey eyes that reminded you of Bucky. The second kitten was black with such blue eyes you could've sworn that it was Loki impersonated. And the puppy was just to cute to pass up on.
"Okay, this one is adorable." Loki said, cradling the black kitten in his arms. The puppy was on a leash while you tried keeping the other kitten in your hands. It was a very squirmy kitten and it took a minute before it finally settled contentedly on your shoulder. You were sure that it wouldn't last long.
"Are we getting any other pets?" Loki asked as you moved through a second pet store.
"Yes." You said. "I want two rabbits as well. I think it's only fitting, after all, I want pets that everyone wants. And I absolutely adore rabbits."
"Why two?" Loki asked.
"Rabbits are very social creatures. They can actually die of depression so if you get a rabbit, you should always get two so that they are never lonely. Human interaction can only be so much for them."
"Interesting." Loki mused as you looked over the English lops that were sitting in the area. The kitten in your hands sniffed at them in interest. One of the bunnies stood up on its hind legs, sniffing at the kitten before tentatively starting to groom it behind the ears. The kitten purred, closing its' eyes. You and Loki exchanged a look.
"That one." The two of you said together.
[There are four pictures. The first picture is them as a baby. The second picture is them full-sized]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"They're adorable." You cooed. The brown Miniature English Lop eared was a girl and the blue miniature lionhead was a male.
"They are quite cute." Loki admitted, holding the cardboard carrier case with the two bunnies inside gingerly. "This kitten is still my favorite though."
"I got him specifically because he looks like you." You said with a smile, feeling giddy as the two of you got back to the car. Loki said he would sit in the back with all of the animals.
You drove slowly so that you didn't make any sudden stops, turns, or starts. When you got home, Rhodey and Clint came out to see where you guys had gone.
"Oh Fury is going to freak." Clint said with delight, picking up the white ball of fluff in one hand. The cat peered up at him.
"That one is kind've Bucky's." You admitted. "and the black cat is kind've Loki's. But the dog and the bunnies are all of ours."
Rhodey picked the puppy up, which immediately started to lick his face energetically.
You took the white cat from Clint, trading the two bunnies for her. You carefully made your way up the stairs while the others downstairs started crowding the other animals.
You knocked on the door, hearing Steve say, "Come in."
"Cover his eyes Steve." You said before you entered the room.
You heard Bucky mumble a weak protest as you came in, making your way over to the bed. You watched Steve's eyes widen and then a smile break out on his face. You sat down on the edge of the bed. "Okay."
Steve removed his hand and Bucky looked at you and then at the white fluff in your hands. Bucky's face lit up in delight and you quickly reached out, placing the kitten in his hands.
The kitten stood up in his two hands, starting to nuzzle and knead the metal hand like it a toy. Then it hopped off his hands, making her way up to his chest, curling up into the tiniest ball you'd ever seen.
Bucky was grinning so wide it was like he had never been sick. "She's adorable. What a good little kitty." He petted her with two fingers. "Does she have a name?"
"No, you can name her." You said.
Bucky continued to look down at her, petting her, "Alpine."
"Cute." You commented. "I wonder what Loki will name his cat."
"There's another cat?" Bucky's eyes lit up even more if that was possible.
"And a puppy and two bunnies." You said sheepishly. "I wanted to make sure everyone had a pet that they liked. I mean, for the most part we're sharing the animals. Like how we'll share kids. But I thought you'd like your own cat."
Bucky motioned for you to lean over so that he could kiss your forehead. "Thank you doll."
"Anything for you Buckaroo."
Clint, Sam, and Rhodey came upstairs at that moment, bringing in the bunnies and puppy to see Bucky as well.
Bucky smiled, watching how attentive the bunnies were with the puppy, both of them climbing all over the poor dog.
"We thought you'd name the bunnies Y/N." Rhodey said with a grin.
You smiled back, "That's Cinnamon roll and that's Boba." You said without any hesitation.
Steve chuckled behind you, "Cute names."
"What's the dogs name?" You asked.
"We haven't decided yet." Rhodey said.
Suddenly you heard the door open downstairs and you heard Fury give a strangled cry before he shouted, "What the F-"

On October 24th 1796 the artist, David Roberts, was born in Edinburgh.
The son of a shoemaker, who began his career as an apprentice house painter. Roberts was born in Stockbridge, near Edinburgh, and while a boy he was a frequent visitor to Rosslyn Chapel, it’s architecture is a complex fusion of influences from many cultures, and it has been mentioned that it was an immense inspiration to the painter.
At the age of 19, after studying art formally at night, Roberts became foreman of work at Scone Palace for a time. Returning home in search of a new job at the end of the project, he took work as a scenery painter for James Bannister’s circus. Bannister offered him more work, engaging him on a good salary of 25 shillings a week, and for a while Roberts toured the country with the circus.
Through Bannister, Roberts then found work at the Pantheon Theatre in Edinburgh, but when the venture failed, he returned to his trade of house painter and decorator. All the time he was working on the “day job”, he was also practising his sketching and painting, thus developing his fine art skills.
Roberts returned to painting scenery for theatres in Edinburgh and Glasgow, meeting his wife, the actress Margaret McLachlan, at the Theatre Royal in Edinburgh. They had one child, Christine. In the early 1820s he exhibited work at the Fine Arts Institution in Edinburgh, including scenes of the abbeys of Melrose and Dryburgh, which were popular themes due to the immense interest in the history of the Anglo-Scottish border created by the work of Walter Scott.
Roberts was offered work in London, at first by the Coburg Theatre and then the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane. Soon Roberts was commissioned to work for Covent Garden, while also successfully exhibiting at the British Institution. Gothic, romantic and religious themes were still popular in art and Roberts continued to produce paintings of Scottish abbeys and famous European Cathedrals. He developed his range into landscapes and seascapes, as well as Biblical and antiquarian themes, achieving fame though his painting “Departure of the Israelites from Egypt”.
Roberts began to travel in 1832, producing a series of lithographs from his trip to Spain and Morocco. In 1838, he embarked on a tour of Egypt, Nubia, Sinai, Syria and the Holy Land, and his sketches, paintings and lithographs were hugely in demand on his return. Publication of “Sketches in the Holy Land and Syria, 1842–1849” and “Egypt & Nubia” followed, volumes that ran to many editions and are still popular as reprints today.
When he returned to Scotland, the Royal Scottish Academy feted him at a public dinner. As a result of this, Roberts advised the Academy that he was worried about work that was being done at Rosslyn Chapel. One of the major architectural conflicts of the time was between the “romantic school” who viewed overgrown buildings as beautiful in their own right, even seeing the moss and overgrowth as protective, and those who wished to restore and preserve buildings.

The last 15 years of his life were spent carrying out prestigious projects such as the painting of the opening of the Great Exhibition of 1851. He became a member of the Royal Academy and was given the freedom of Edinburgh. His distinctive style and intuitive interpretation of light were emulated by many artists who came after him.
The last time I posted about David Roberts I featured his work in Palestine and Egypt, the pics this time around are his home grown work, the first being a self portrait, next is his apparent inspiration, the Entrance to the Crypt, Rosslyn Chapel, St. Mungo’s Cathedral, Glasgow and Dumbarton Rock.
If you want to see more of his work check out the Royal Academy's site here.https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/art.../name/david-roberts-ra

Apartment infodump!🌤
Went around my neighborhood this afternoon! It's a Lazy Sunday so I just wanna infodump a bit about how I imagine Julianne's apartment would look like.
I've always imagined that it would be at the other edge of town close to another forest. There are still some stores and essential businesses for renters in that area but it's mostly a clump of apartment buildings or commercial buildings for small offices and such (like printing shops, probably the publishing house for Woodbrook Wanderer, and niche shops).
Tumblr media
It's the part of town people don't typically end up in unless they're out of options for places to be in. This is probably the area where newcomers come to rent or buy spaces.
Meanwhile on the other side of the town is the residential area where the families who've stayed in Woodbrook are ever since. They have fairly nicer houses and maybe a few houses are rental or some are small-scale apartments (like an example I'll show in a second). I'll bet that land or even the cost to build a house there is steep since it is a very nice/safe community. Perhaps this is gonna be explored a lot more through a commercial angle in Rite Of Spring
Tumblr media
Keep in mind I live in the Philippines so I have No Clue if what I'm saying will contextually make sense. I live in a village that's close to the city but it's still rural enough to not be fully commercialized. Sure, we have a few restaurants and small coffee shops in the village but there are still patches of land with trees, greenery, and probably some feral colonies lol
It's mostly residential space with a basketball gym and a chapel at the entrance.
I've always thought that Julianne's apartment would look somewhere between this apartment in the village and this commercial building in Quezon City I used to frequent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking at the kind of buildings built in Woodbrook, it would be more realistic if it would be closer to the building on the right. However, I like the idea that it would maybe look smaller and a bit more intimate like the one on the right.
I think having the apartment Julianne lives in be 4 floors of livable space be a good compromise. After all, that's what Julianne was after, a cheap space she can buy and live in as long as it's in Woodbrook. It would be smaller, and some areas would be closed off but I imagine that the first floor and lobby look similar to this. It kind of looks like a budget beach resort's lodges but that's part of the charm. It reminds Julianne of her home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 2nd floor is a common living space with a television set, a shelf of rotating books for people who want to borrow or leave books, couches, a phonograph/radio for music, and a big kitchen for people who need to cook and for those who don't have a kitchen in their apartments. Julianne has a mini stove and a fridge and a sink but not an oven so if she wants to bake, she has to compute to make enough for her neighbors or at least the landlady plus herself and sam.
3rd-4th is where the other apartments are so renters/people who bought a space stay there. Julianne lives at the 4th floor. Also all of you live next door in the 4th hehe :) Wren pointed out its like Tomodachi Life Apartments!
5th floor is the rooftop so its just an open space. People can hang out there if they want and Julianne goes up there to think sometimes or draw on the concrete with chalk.
Being that its near the forest, the apartment is cool and there's good air circulation around that some days you don't even need an electric fan or air conditioning. The entrance has some plants and some 1st floor renters have small gardens on their windows or by their doors. Grass and wild flowers grow on the sidewalk.
Tumblr media
It really is the perfect place to live in. Friendly neighbors. A bustling sweet town with great small businesses. Romance around the corner!
Also on my walk today I saw Julianne hehehe

In Memoriam
Tumblr media
My highly unique and last surviving uncle passed away yesterday, July 18, 2024. Charles ("Charlie" to many) was six months shy of his 102nd birthday in December. For his 100th birthday in 2022, I wrote him a poem. The photos below comprised the front and back of a card designed by JT, for which I recorded a 90-second .mp3 of me reciting the printed verse, uploading it to a tiny disk attached inside the card. The photos above are Charles with his Gretsch "New Yorker" in 1956, and then with the "Kat330" cigar box guitar JT made for my birthday in 2015.
The background music behind my recitation is from a lovely day in 2011 spent with my uncle on the grounds of the restored West Baden Springs Hotel resort in southern Indiana. We stumbled upon a stone domed "chapel" (probably an empty gardening shed) with phenomenal acoustics. Instinctively I began singing "Amazing Grace," and then I began the round "O, How Lovely Is the Evening" after Charles had joined in humming harmony on the hymn. When we were back home that day, I found out JT had surreptitiously recorded our private moment of joy in song, and that "Amazing Grace" recording was ideal to set behind this tribute poem.
Hymn to Him
Back in nineteen twenty and two Upon the 13th day December, There was born a blessèd man This day we honor and remember.
Born as Charles Henry Boonshot, Sometimes shortened to Charlie B., His name passed down by dad, the Sr. His mother's known as Anna Marie.
A farmboy raised in Indiana, And I might also make a note he Always lived in Martin County Near or in the town, Loogootee.
His sister and my mother, Margaret, His elder 18 months and plus, Did dearly love her baby brother Who is, as well, beloved by us!
He thrived upon the family farm Amid the usual barnyard cluster -- Chickens, pigs, a horse, a cow -- And trusty dog by name of Buster.
The Boonshot family loved to sing With Charlie's purest tenor tone Lifting high their gospel hymns In lovely harmonies home-grown.
He let his singing speak for him, Remained a quiet, gentle man, But never were his words more clear Than when he had guitar in hand.
And now my unc of so few words Arriving at a major milestone, Hears us praise in many words: The light a 100 years he's shone!

Other Information~
The "Yuu" for Octavinelle's chapter.
Imani is not happy to be teleported into TWST. They had just applied to attend Sorbonne University in Paris for architectural design, but nope, back in high school. He had a hard time adjusting but she eventually made a routine for themselves; once she had a routine things became easier to navigate. The first friend they made was Malleus, as ze loves Gothic designs.
Back at home, Imani lived with their mother, and grandfather and mainly only spoke Swahili in the house. Zir family lives in Lyon, France so they understand EVERYTHING Rook says and just stares at him. The only person they trust to even come near her hair is Sam; if anyone else tries, they are losing fingers.
Would have been sorted into Ignihyde, as they are quite diligent in all of zir pursuits. Back at home, they had made miniature models of the Arenes de Lutece, the Sainte-Chapelle, and of his own house. Currently, she is trying to make a replica of the botanical garden and the Scarabia dorm and speaks with Jamil about the designs used. The next project on his list is the Diasomnia dorm.
They don't understand or like hypocritical people; if they do not like those traits, then why are themselves demonstrating them? He tends to keep the majority of her living space clean, but zir desk is usually covered in blueprints and the latest miniature project. Very curious about Ortho; behind his suit designs, his AI capabilities, to just how much he truly knows.
Imani tends to stick to black-and-white clothing but does like bold patterns. They tend to wear their hair in its natural pattern, or wear protective braids with gold beads at the end. He also wears a hair bonnet when she's just around Ramshackle, Sam came in clutch and gave her a discount. Tends to wear simple earrings, sticking to silver or gold studs. Actually likes the NRC uniform, and makes sure to maintain their appearance.
Imani had to stop Grim from maiming the sweet little mouse that lived in the Ramshackle pantry; the mouse's name is Basil and they like to watch Imani make miniatures. Imani even made them a little deerstalker hat. Crewel is her favourite teacher, as he lets them sew in his class after hours. DESPISES Crowley, he's way too loud.
Bonus fits and hair styles!

Sims In Bloom: Generation 1 Pt. 17 (Eventful Winterfest + Ralph's Last Bark)
Tumblr media
Before the winter holidays, the family suffered the shock loss of their beloved sheepdog, Ralph. His death was hard on all of them – even the cats, King Tut and Boomer, moped around the house as they processed the loss. For Winterfest, Daisy commissioned a family portrait they could display in his honour, and they buried him in the garden near their money fruit tree.
Tumblr media
The winter break was busy for the Nesbitts, which helped keep their minds off their grief. They spent Hanukkah with the Goths in Brindleton Bay, with River enthusiastic for everyone to meet Cassandra’s wealthy and proper family. Daisy was almost broody again when she had the chance to cuddle Cassandra’s infant brother, Dexter, and the families got along famously. The Goths were even a little impressed to meet the man who’d invented Nesbeets. They respected how well the meat substitute had done in business, and the Goths were animal lovers, too, with five cats under their roof.
Mortimer admitted he’d been so busy lately with business trips to the city, he hadn’t gotten the animals spayed and neutered like he should have done. Bella chastised him with a flirtatious laugh and said she’d do it herself, just like everything else around their home. The Nesbitts didn’t know whether to laugh or leave them to fight it out, but Cassandra jumped in to share a seasonal folk tale and turn everyone’s attention.
Tumblr media
The family opened presents together on Winterfest morning, but while Neal worked to prepare a grand fish dinner, his family spent time getting to know Uncle Karl, who’d come in from the city for the day at their insistence. He made Holly more excited about her plans to move to San Myshuno after high school, and when Kris came over to exchange gifts with her, he was interested to hear about life in the city, himself. Karl was cagey about his personal life, but let it slip that he was seeing a man in San Myshuno. A mysterious man because he wouldn’t say his name. He said only that he was a freelance writer, and having only just gotten to know their uncle, they left it at that. Who he was dating had no impact on them – or so they thought.
For Boxing Day, the family travelled to Oasis Springs – not for another visit to the chapel where Neal and Daisy got married, but to visit the palatial new Desert Oasis Spa to help everyone unwind from the hectic holiday season. It was a blissful day, even if they undid some of their wellness by indulging on pepperoni pizza for dinner. Though they spent plenty of time meditating and doing yoga, Daisy was most proud that, due to Oasis Springs’ yearly warm temperatures, the ponds weren’t frozen over and she could master fishing. Holly had surpassed her years earlier, and even offered her own mother – who taught her to bait a hook – her expert tips, but finally Daisy could say she was just as skilled as her gorgeous lookalike daughter.
Tumblr media
A new year was just around the corner, but what would that mean for the Nesbitts? ->

Hello! Do you by any chance know where Lafayette and his family lived after they were released from Olmütz, and waiting to go back to France?
Dear @mxtallmadge,
yes, I do know by chance where the La Fayette’s stayed in exile before returning to France. Thank you for the question, this is actually one of my favourite episodes in La Fayette’s life.
They first went to a place called Gut Wittmoldt (the family often used slightly different spellings) that was located on the banks of the Plöner See. Madame de Tessé, Adrienne’s aunt, had rented the property and several emigrees lived there or in the surround area. La Fayette’s daughter Virginie wrote in her book:
At last on the 10th of October 1797 we arrived at Witmold a property Mme de Tessé had bought in a peninsula on lake Ploën. (…) At Witmold, my mother recovered her strength, and found repose of body and mind. My father found his friends. He was fond of Mme de Tessé, and had with her on every point complete community of opinions. His political life had met with her constant approbation, and you may fancy what charm five years of silence at Olmütz added to Mme de Tessé’s lively, animated and piquante conversation.
Mme de Lasteyrie, Life of Madame de Lafayette, L. Techener, London, 1872, pp. 372-373.
For the winter months of 1797/98, La Fayette rented Gut Lehmkuhlen, close by Wittmold. There were several reasons for the move. The family wanted to have a place of their own – and not everybody was as much in perfect agreement with La Fayette’s political opinions and actions as Madame de Tessé was. Virginie wrote:
Mme de Maisonneuve came to see her brother and joined us at Lhemkulen, a large castle in Holstein, near Witmold, which my father had hired for the winter. Shortly afterwards my brother arrived from Mount Vernon. Under General Washington’s paternal care he had become a man. My mother was happy and so were her children.
Mme de Lasteyrie, Life of Madame de Lafayette, L. Techener, London, 1872, p. 374.
After the winter months, the family moved back to Wittmoldt. It was then and there that Anastasie married. After the wedding, the family moved to Vianen, near Utrecht. Again turning to Virginie:
After a short stay there [Paris], and a visit to Mme de Chavaniac in Auvergne, we all met again in the following year 1799 at Vianen, near Utrecht. My father had come there from Holstein, with George. Exiles can fix themselves nowhere. Their only thought is to abandon their momentary home, their only wish to depart.
Mme de Lasteyrie, Life of Madame de Lafayette, L. Techener, London, 1872, p. 377.
Adrienne and Virginie had been in Paris and in the Auvergne, while La Fayette, Georges and Anastasie, now pregnant, had moved directly to Vianen. Adrienne and Virginie followed them there.
Gut Wittmoldt and Gut Lehmkuhlen were in a region that was then known as Danish Holstein. The region was very interesting from a cultural and social aspect, and it became the refuge for many French exiles. The region is today part of Northern Germany.
Vianen is a city in the Netherlands. By the time of the La Fayette’s settlement there, it belonged to the Batavian Republic.
I have made a detailed post about the La Fayette’s home in Vianen here.
I have no specific posts about either Wittmoldt or Lehmkuhlen – what is slightly ironic because I am very often in that area and have visited Wittmoldt especially quite often, but I never took any pictures.
Lehmkuhlen has, rather recently, been turned into a biogas plant but the gardens of the former estate have been preserved.
Wittmoldt is still owned by the same family and on their website they even advertise with the fact that La Fayette and his family stayed on their property. Today, the estate hosts many cultural events like concerts, workshops and art and craft markets. They also offer Equine-assisted therapy. Furthermore, Gut Wittmoldt can be rented for weddings or the like (the chapel where Anastasie married is no longer standing). Several of the buildings on the property have also been turned into guesthouses for tourists. Most modern buildings in Wittmoldt are from the 1860’s but there is at least the old bakehouse from the early 1790’s that La Fayette would have known and that also had been turned into a guesthouse.
I hope the information was helpful. I have a la fayette in exile-tag, that might interest you as well. I hope you have/had a lovely day!

On October 1st 1763 the contract to build Edinburgh's North Bridge was signed.
Edinburgh in the 1700s was a very different city to the one we know today. The city boundary was restricted to the dramatic crag and tail feature which swept eastwards from the castle. Up to 35,000 people inhabited a space under a mile long making Scotland’s capital one of the most densely populated urban areas in the world at that time. The overcrowded population were crammed into crumbling tenements, many of them up to fourteen storeys high in order to make the most of the limited space. Make no mistake, Edinburgh at this point in it's history, was a skyscraper city, very few cities in the world had buildings the height of our capital!
Edinburgh’s nobility were often forced to accept the unthinkable and share dwellings with the lower classes. Change was not just desired, it was deemed an absolute necessity if the city was ever to move forward.
Plans to build a New Town to the north were discussed as early as the 1750s but without the means of connecting it with the rest of Edinburgh, it would be nothing more than a fanciful dream. Phase one required the draining of the ancient Nor’ Loch, a man-made stagnant body of water located in the area which we now term as Princes Street Gardens. Drainage began in 1759 and would continue up until the 1820s. Dry land at the east of the Nor’ Loch valley allowed for what was undoubtedly the most ambitious engineering project to have been built in the city at that point: An eleven-hundred foot long stone bridge. The North Bridge, as it would be named, enabled the New Town to become a reality. A brand new chapter in the city’s history was about to begin.
And so it was that the foundation stone of architect William Mylne’s North Bridge was laid on 1st October 1763 but it would be a further two years before any serious amount of progress was made. Nearing completion, the magnificent multi-arched bridge first opened to pedestrians in 1769 to much fanfare and excitement. However, the cheers would soon be emphatically silenced that summer due to a disaster of epic proportions.
On the evening of Thursday, 3rd August 1769 the side walls of the south abutment of the bridge suddenly gave way, causing a partial collapse of the structure and tragically claiming the lives of five people
Rescue efforts were recorded by newspaper the Caledonian Mercury which detailed the grim discoveries of bodies "buried in the rubbish, occasioned by the fall of the walls of the south abutment of the new bridge over the north loch".
Two of the bodies were identified as belonging to Mr Lawson, shoemaker, and Mr James Fergus, a local writer.
The Caledonian Mercury went on to mention that workers had been digging almost day and night since the collapse and that at least three to four others were feared to have shared the "same unhappy fate with the two already found".
A contemporary letter penned by a Darcy, Lady Maxwell recalls the evening of the collapse, which she had witnessed, writing
“The Lord, who is continually loading me with his benefits, has twice this day remarkable interfered on my behalf. In the evening he preserved me from broken bones to which I was exposed in a fall. A few hours after, when walking home from chapel, I witnessed a most melancholy scene occasioned by the falling in of the North Bridge. I… was within five minutes of passing over it… when almost in a moment, the greatest noise I ever heard (except on a similar occasion when I was remarkably preserved) filled the air."It seemed as if the pillars of nature were giving way. Instantly, the cry resounded “the bridge is fallen!”
A full inquiry followed and identified haste in construction and a poorly-calculated estimate regarding the depth of the foundations and sturdiness of the earth-filled abutments as the chief causes behind the disaster.
Rebuilding work demanded £18,000 (almost double the original £10,140 cost of the project) and the city would have to wait until 1772 before the grand reopening. The original North Bridge survived more than a century until the 1890s, when engineers devised an improved link that would allow for greater flow of traffic, this was at the time Waverley Train Station was being constructed.
Construction of the current steel bridge that we know today was completed in 1897 at a cost of £81,000., with the North British Railway Company contributing to a third of the cost.
A plaque recalling the founding and dismantling of the original North Bridge occupies a wall of the present bridge, which has now stood for roughly the same length of time as its predecessor.
The pictures show the evolution of the Nor Loch, I can’t find dates for them all, but you will see in the first one that the Loch is still not fully drained and very little signs of buildings on the North side, pic two shows buildings where the Balmoral Hotel now sits.
In the third pic there are signs of a Market where we now have Waverley Station, the street and buildings under the far side are now called Market Street. Pic four is dated around 1809, all the buildings you see on the left are now gone. On the top roght corner is what was The North British Train Station, the bottom of the picture you can see what is now known as “The Mound. Next pic is I guess from mid 19th century, still a long way from the construction of Waverley Station. Pic six shows the North Bridge being dismantling early 1896, and then "The Ceremony of Laying the Foundation Stone of the New North Bridge Edinburgh 25th May 1896, leading on to the commemorative plaque, which is from around the same time.
Finally is a pic of how the North Bridge looks in 2021, not much to see as it is in cladding while a multi-million restoration is taking place, the cost of refurbishing the bridge has soared from £22 million to £36m after the landmark structure was found to be in worse condition than expected. Last October the council issued a statement saying.
“Due to the nature of the construction of the bridge, full access behind the cast iron façade has not been available since it was constructed in 1897 and the last full refurbishment of this nature was in 1933. It has not been possible to properly inspect the hidden structural elements in almost 90 years.”
The briefing said testing had led to the discovery of “extensive issues” with the existing concrete bridge deck constructed in 1933.
I won't depress you with the latest details on when it will be finished, but at least it has opened to traffic now.
