Birth Doulas: Empowering Support for Expectant Families
Shaina Tranquilino

Tumblr media
Bringing a new life into the world is an incredible journey filled with joy, anticipation, and sometimes, uncertainty. During this transformative time, many women seek additional support to ensure a positive birth experience. Enter birth doulas – compassionate professionals who provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational assistance before, during, and after childbirth. In this blog post, we will delve into what birth doulas are and explore their invaluable role in empowering expectant mothers.
Understanding Birth Doulas: A birth doula is a trained individual who offers non-medical support to expectant mothers throughout the entire childbirth process. These dedicated individuals are typically experienced in various birthing techniques and possess extensive knowledge of the physiological and emotional aspects of labour and delivery.
Their Role: 1. Emotional Support: Birth doulas provide unwavering emotional support during pregnancy, labour, and postpartum periods. They assist expectant mothers by actively listening to their concerns, fears, hopes, and dreams surrounding childbirth. By offering empathy and reassurance, these caring professionals help alleviate anxieties while fostering confidence.
2. Continuous Physical Comfort: Doulas employ an array of comfort measures to ease discomforts associated with labour pains such as massage techniques, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, positioning suggestions, and more. Their presence ensures that the mother's physical needs are addressed consistently throughout the birthing process.
3. Advocacy & Communication: One significant aspect of a birth doula's role is to act as an advocate for the mother's preferences and desires when communicating with healthcare providers or medical staff. This may include discussing pain management options or ensuring the mother has access to accurate information about procedures being performed.
4. Informational Support: Birth doulas empower expectant mothers by providing evidence-based information on various aspects of childbirth like different birthing positions or breastfeeding techniques. They ensure that the mother is well-informed, enabling her to make educated decisions regarding her birth plan.
5. Partner Support: Birth doulas also extend their support to partners or other family members involved in the birthing process. By guiding them on how best to assist and comfort the labouring mother, doulas help create a harmonious environment where everyone feels included and informed.
Benefits of Hiring a Birth Doula: The advantages of having a birth doula during childbirth are numerous:
1. Increased Satisfaction: Studies have shown that women who receive continuous support from a birth doula report higher levels of satisfaction with their birthing experience.
2. Reduced Interventions: Research indicates that with the presence of a doula, there is often a decrease in interventions like cesarean sections and epidurals, leading to more positive outcomes for both mother and baby.
3. Emotional Well-being: The emotional support provided by birth doulas significantly reduces stress levels for expectant mothers, promoting overall emotional well-being throughout pregnancy and beyond.
4. Lowered Risk of Postpartum Depression: Women supported by birth doulas tend to have lower rates of postpartum depression due to the consistent guidance and nurturing they receive during the vulnerable post-birth period.
Birth doulas play an essential role in ensuring positive experiences for expectant mothers during childbirth. Their unwavering support, knowledge, and advocacy empower women to navigate this transformative journey confidently. By providing physical comfort, emotional reassurance, informational assistance, and acting as an advocate, these dedicated professionals contribute significantly to creating fulfilling and empowering birthing experiences for all involved.

我去找中醫的時候他說我的氣血非常低。。。我的中文不太好😭😭😭我才不知道他在說什麼!!! 可是我回家上網以後就明白了。 HAHA THANK YOU 谷大歌
When I went to the Chinese doctor, he said my 氣血 was very low (qi deficiency)....my Chinese is not that good 😭😭😭 I had no idea what he was saying!!! But after I went home and hopped on the internet, I understood. Wisdom and Kindness - A Spiritual Story
This newsletter has the possibility of holding the energy of relaying that greatest of greats - wisdom and kindness.
The difference between the personality, character, and ego traits and wisdom become more obvious as we hopefully learn with the aging process ( that’s not everybody of course.)
Wisdom can be defined in spiritual terms in this way, “wisdom doesn’t need to speak. Instead it sits back, listening with the heart fully engaged, while the personality speaks out loud.”
Kindness is one of the loveliest traits of mankind when we exercise it, and all too often we haven’t been particularly famous for being kind at all, not now or throughout our history. Let’s hope there’s massive room for improvement in this area.
Bringing the two energies of both wisdom and kindness together, is a wonderful combination, and one we all deserve to not only meet in our lives, but also to experience first hand.
I am living every day with a man so kind and loving, it sometimes takes my breath away. He is way more patient than me, and even on the roads in the state of Florida (which currently has the absolute worst drivers I’ve seen so far), he has a tolerance that I don’t possess. It’s one of the things I’m working on. The urge to sit with my head out of the window, using very bad language, is one I have to stop myself from doing all the time. Enlightened? I think not!
He has shown patience to grown and growing, quite selfish and uncaring people in his life, while he continues to love them and leave doors open for their behaviors and attitudes to change. While I am a door closed, locked, bolted and I’m in another realm, far enough away to forget any of that even existed.
I am learning so much from him, and it’s really cute, because he thinks he’s growing and learning from me (perhaps we won’t tell him just yet.)
I personally had a very different childhood than any of my siblings. They didn’t care for my mother, and I adored her. They didn’t bother to get to know her, and I couldn’t soak up enough details of who she was, what mattered to her and how she grew up in war torn England. I found her fascinating, lovely, wise, kind and one of the best people I had the great pleasure to meet. I certainly preferred her to anyone I lived with, and she was a woman close to my heart and soul. I don’t know or understand anyone who had the opportunity to meet her, to not appreciate the gentleness of her soul. I knew that about her, and felt better about me for being able to see the wisdom and kindness in her.
I seek that in everyone now (not as much the Floridian drivers yet, but I’m working on it!)
As always, please share this post with anyone that you feel can benefit from it! Please like us on your social media channels and subscribe to our mailing list if you haven't already done so! Emotional neglect… what is it? What is resentment? It’s not anger. It’s grieving what’s missed and missing.
My father would frequently seem to ignore or outright dismiss negative emotions in favor or either sleep or celebration. He would either be “too tired” or “too stressed” and want time to himself… or he’d direct me to my mom, therapist or even my sister and our nannies for just about everything. Dad was hyperfocused on work and recreation. He’d have car projects with friends, boat projects for himself or work in general, which was extremely demanding for him.
The way he would present when I pushed to be heard or acknowledged with either verbally complaining, telling me to talk to someone else or raising his voice and sometimes showing physical aggression. He’d usually try to pepper in his versions of positive energy like mentioning a boat weekend or a Red Wings game. He also got free tickets to the Detroit Vipers IHL games pretty frequently from work. We’d have VIP lounge tickets occasionally and he’d also get free tickets to monster truck shows at the Pontiac Silverdome.
These and generally financial support were Dad’s love language. He would actively avoid knowing about suffering but he’d pay for psychiatric treatment as a result… and consistently cover my therapy from childhood into adolescence and my teens.
Mom on the other hand, was actively caring and often wound up forcing dad to listen to her about emotional distress and “boy problems” or masculine issues according to a Christian social model. Dad never addressed the issues but he did carry a noticeable amount of resentment towards me after mom would “chew him out” or “tear him a new asshole” as if me asking about sex and shaving were some way of tattling on him.
Basically, mom was dad’s fatherhood coach and he ignored her more often than not.
I’m not “angry” at him. He was raised by boomer parents with physical reprimanding alongside a disabled older brother who got all the attention by necessity. On top of this, dad went completely bald of alopecia at 7 years old… by the very nature of human limitations, he was actively ignored a lot of the time. He also could not have possibly received the specialized attention necessary to develop healthy, holistic emotional awareness for himself let alone in a teachable capacity.
The thing that gets me is how delusionally happy people are about his accomplishments despite all of that traumatic experience. It’s functionally impossible for that sort of upbringing to nurture a mechanical savant *and* an emotionally present caregiver. I’ve heard so many excuses, “he did the best he could” (okay, let’s examine that’s still not good enough) “your father loves you” (my father has a very twisted understanding of what love is and he displayed love as such) “look at all he’s given you.” (Emotional neglect, physical and emotional trauma and an incomplete male role model at best; a horrible example at worst)
He’s still praised and held with deep reverence as the man with all the boats, cars and money. He owns 2 boats, one of which is stored in a marina and the other is kept at his “lake house” (our grandparents family home built from a plot of land on Lake Columbia) he owns two SeaDoo jet skis; a 2-up and a 2.5-up model, a ‘33 plymouth he built with an automatic transmission for his whole family’s use, a ‘56 Dodge pickup, a 2014 Dodge Viper because he literally engineered the Viper from inception to gen IV, a brand new RAM pickup, his own 4 bedroom trilevel house he lives in alone… he even stretches himself out in retirement now. He used to want to get rid of his boat and stick to Lake Columbia for relaxation and family but then he joined a community of people he fundamentally hates; Trump supporters who also share interests for boats, cars and sports.
Dad is an extremely vocal hater of Trump and Conservatives. He’s what I’d call a “right wing democrat” with extreme views of who’s wrong, deep sense of career success and narcissism while angrily voicing his views against cops, christians, maga and “trumpers” and simultaneously using the “heaven and hell” “right and wrong” views he was educated with during his Catholic schooling in Grosse Pointe.
Dad’s pure bred mechanical engineer with a dominance mindset. He played college hockey and became a rally and race driver on the side. He is *not* a supporter of emotional intelligence or one who would offer empathy through suffering.
I’m not really “angry” at dad. I resent the lost love and missed opportunities… I never cared for sports. That was my sister’s thing. I never cared for cars, so when I wasn’t available, Dad took my sister to a few race tracks and while I know he was trying to “include” me he’d often send me celebration pics of being at famous race tracks and doing “Viper stuff” or he’d send me photos of him with my sister driving a Charger around a NASCAR track.
All he was ever really doing is shoving it in my face how important my sister is and telling me I’m worthless for being stuck somewhere else both physically and emotionally. I would have loved to carry a camera around and sharpen skills with portraits and creative car photos. I would have been more than happy to draw, sketch and animate various things in relation to his life.
All he ever needed to do was fucking **see** his son instead of seeing an empty vessel into which he could pour his own hopes, dreams, accomplishments and emotional emptiness.

Note
I appreciate you starting a conversation about the harms of homeopathy, and I just want to mention that homeopathy/alternative medicine is also largely BS when it comes to treating our pets. A lot of essential oils and herbal remedies are toxic to cats and dogs even in small quantities, but people still try using them as flea and tick prevention because they don’t want to use “toxic” medicine that actually works. CBD isn’t FDA approved for dogs because it’s not been proven to be effective and safe, but a lot of folks have pushed me to try it for my dog because he’s on medication for extreme anxiety. Some folks will seek out animal chiropractors to “treat” their dog’s IVDD or hip dysplasia instead of pursuing pain management or surgical treatment. People think that vets look at their pets and see dollar signs instead of an animal needing treatment and turn to snake oil salesmen instead. It’s maddening.
Yeah that makes me fucking crazy.
@drferox and @why-animals-do-the-thing are great resources on tumblr who have spent a ton of time discussing animal woo in the past; both have slowed down on posting because life is hard and tumblr is tumblr, but both have done a lot of excellent writing about things like animal training, raw pet food, vaccination, and how to be a good human to your pets. If you've got questions about animals, search their archives and you're probably going to find a ton of useful information.
Folks, I swear veterinarians aren't coming for your wallets and they are generally criminally under-compensated for the work that they do. They're brilliant professionals who are driven by passion and fucked by the market.
Sorry i went to go find some studies on dogs and cbd and i ended up finding a reprint of a small study from the american holistic veterinary medical association and I found this on the pdf and i'm going to murder somebody
Tumblr media
for those who are not aware young living is an essential oil mlm largely targeting mormon housewives that was started by a man whose child died being drowned at birth in an at-home-water-birthing incident and who himself likely died of cancer he tried to treat with essential oils.
This is one of those things that's like a big flashing neon sign that the study/journal you're looking at is a hot pile of bullshit.
Anyway. Yeah. Research supporting the safety and effectiveness of CBD on dogs is pretty thin on the ground. Your pets depend on you. The choices you make determine their health and wellbeing.
Listening to woo-peddlers who tell you not to vaccinate, or who hype up untested "healthy grain free diets," or who promote and sell cbd in absence of evidence of its effectiveness is putting your pets hands in the health of someone who doesn't care about your pet, they just care about profit.
Also, while I'm here: don't feed your dog grain free foods unless they have a diagnosed allergy, grain free foods can lead to liver and kidney problems, dogs are more omnivorous, not obligate carnivores like cats and grain is not bad for their diet nor unnatural for them to eat, and there are very few brands that have done decades of feeding tests on dogs (Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, Pedigree, Eukanuba, and Iams) and none of them are Blue Buffalo.
Appeals to nature are extremely common in online woo discussions of pet food and vet care. Your dog is not a wolf and does not need to eat like a wolf. Your cat is not a lion and does not need to claim territory like a lion.
Vaccinate your pets, don't let them wander, feed them tested diets, and listen to your vet's advice on their care.

The MOST Difficult Birth Chart Placements

DISCLAIMER
The descriptions of difficult placements are based on astrological teachings and are not definitive or absolute. It is important to remember that every individual is unique, and a natal chart should be considered holistically. Challenging placements can also present opportunities for growth and personal development. The purpose of this post is to affirm your life experience.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
8H MOON or 12H MOON
Having an 8H Moon means dealing with deep transformations & crises. This placement often brings you face-to-face with your deepest fears, traumas, and hidden desires. Every experience seems to touch you on a soul-deep level. Crises and intense situations are a part of your emotional journey, and they shape who you are in significant ways. It’s like life keeps pushing you to transform, to shed old skins and emerge anew, stronger and more resilient each time.
But this depth also means you carry a lot inside. Your emotional world is complex and layered, full of nuances that others might not easily understand. You might struggle with trusting people, afraid to let them see the raw, vulnerable parts of you. It can be lonely, carrying these intense feelings, but it also gives you incredible strength & insight into complex emotions others shy away from or suppress.
With a 12H Moon, subconscious struggles and hidden fears are brought to the surface. This placement may feel like your emotions are a mystery even to you, often leading to a sense of isolation or self-undoing (unless managed). Moon in the 12H brings your unconscious thought patterns to light, making your emotions feel elusive and hard to pin down–almost like trying to catch smoke with your hands.
You might find yourself wrestling with feelings that you can’t quite understand or explain. This can manifest in moments of self-undoing, where your unresolved issues pull you into patterns of self-sabotage.
It’s tough because your emotions are so deeply buried that it’s hard to bring them to light. But acknowledging these hidden parts of yourself is the first step toward healing. Learn to listen to those quiet, internal nudges and understanding that it’s okay to feel lost sometimes. Sit in the uncertainty, you will find the way.
CAPRICORN OR AQUARIUS MOON
Saturn-ruled moons often equate vulnerability with weakness, and this fear can prevent them from forming deep emotional connections. This placement can also symbolize having a strong sense of responsibility from a young age, therefore feeling burdened by the need to succeed and provide. Remember those times when you felt like you had to grow up faster than everyone else? While other kids were playing, you were already thinking about the future, about success, about PROVIDING. It’s a heavy burden to carry, and it can make you feel like you’re constantly walking uphill.
This placement means you’re incredibly disciplined, which is a strength, no doubt. But it also means you might feel an overwhelming pressure to succeed. You set the bar HIGH, and anything less than perfection feels like failure. It’s a relentless but exhausting drive, a need to always prove yourself, to always be enough.
Imagine carrying a backpack filled with rocks, each one representing a responsibility, a fear, a self-imposed standard. How much lighter would you feel if you could set that backpack down, even just for a moment? Vulnerability is a form of courage. It’s saying, “Here I am, with all my flaws and fears,” and still showing up.
SCORPIO OR ARIES MOON
Mars-ruled Moons feel things INTENSELY, but that can get overwhelming. For Scorpio, there's a push & pull, as you navigate through the intensity of your emotions or deep-seated fears. Trust is a big deal for you, and it doesn’t come easily. You’ve probably been hurt before, and those wounds run deep. It’s hard to let people in when you’re constantly bracing for the next betrayal or disappointment. You build walls around your heart, not because you don’t want to love, but because you’re scared of what might happen if you do.
Jealousy and possessiveness can creep in, adding to the emotional turmoil. When you care about someone, you care fiercely, and the thought of losing them can drive you to places you don’t want to go. It’s not that you want to control them, but the fear of losing them or being hurt again can be overwhelming.
This intensity is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it gives you a deep, intuitive understanding of others. You can see through facades and connect with people on a profound level. On the other hand, it can feel like you’re constantly battling with your own emotions, trying to find a balance between holding on and letting go.
You’re a warrior (Mars) in your own right, fighting battles that most people can’t even see. It’s okay to feel vulnerable and to acknowledge that this emotional intensity is a part of who you are. It’s okay to take things slow, to let trust build over time, and to find ways to soothe that inner turmoil.
Instead, Aries Moons feel everything intensely & immediately–your emotions can flare up quickly. Patience isn’t your strongest suit, so you might find yourself reacting before even having time to think things through, pointing to emotional burnout. When you get mad, you get MAD. Your temper can flare up in an instant, and before you know it, you’ve reacted without even thinking things through.Your emotions are right there bubbling on the surface, ready to explode. Of course, this can lead to misunderstandings and clashes with the people around you.
But here’s the thing, you also bring energy and excitement to everything you do. When you’re happy, you light up the room: your enthusiasm is contagious. It’s okay to acknowledge that this intensity can be tough to handle. It’s okay to admit that sometimes, you need to step back and breathe before reacting. Learning to take a moment, to pause and reflect, can help you manage those quick flares of emotion and prevent burnout.
1H SATURN OR SATURN CONJUNCT ASCENDANT
This placement can indicate that you’ve had to grow up fast, carrying a sense of responsibility that kids your age didn’t even think about. There’s this underlying pressure to be perfect, to always have it together, to be the rock for everyone else. In those moments when the burden feels too heavy, remember that it’s okay to put it down for a while. It’s okay to take care of yourself and to recognize your own worth, not just for what you do, but for who you are. You’re not alone in this journey, and it’s okay to ask for help. Carrying the weight has made you strong, but sharing the load can make you even stronger.
1H PLUTO
Power struggles, constantly re-inventing yourself & healing the deep issues that people usually shy away from, are a big theme for 1H Pluto. You might find yourself on the brink of change every 5 business days, asserting your dominance & affirming your power. There are moments when everything feels like it’s crumbling around you, and you’re left to pick up the pieces and start anew. It’s exhausting and can make you feel like you’re never truly settled, never truly yourself. But each time you rebuild, you become stronger, more resilient, and more in tune with your true self.
4H PLUTO
This placement can symbolize a tumultuous home life, where finding a sense of stability & security was incredibly difficult. These dynamics may have left deep emotional scars, making you wary of getting too close or trusting people too easily. Your home environment might have been complex, with unspoken rules and hidden agendas shaping your early experiences. Growing up might have felt like walking on eggshells, never knowing when the next emotional storm would hit. You know what it’s like to face the darkness and come out the other side. You’ve learned to navigate emotional depths that others might shy away from, and this makes you incredibly strong and compassionate.
VENUS SQUARE/OPPOSITE SATURN, CAPRICORN OR AQUARIUS VENUS:
You might feel like there’s an invisible barrier blocking you from truly connecting with others–but it's not that you don’t want closeness—it’s that you’re terrified of being hurt, of opening up and then being rejected. This fear can make it hard to let people in, even when your heart is longing for connection. You might find yourself questioning if you’re worthy of love. There’s this lingering doubt that no matter how much you give or how hard you try, it’s never enough. This can lead to a cycle of pushing people away just when they start to get close, out of fear that they’ll leave you first. It’s a defense mechanism, but one that often leaves you feeling even more isolated and lonely. These struggles aren’t just in your head—they’re real, and they’re tough. But recognizing them is the first step towards healing. It’s about understanding that this aspect of your chart isn’t a life sentence, but it’s a challenge to be faced and overcome. Remember, you are worthy of love and affection just as you are. The journey might be tough, but it’s one that leads to deeper, more meaningful connections and a stronger sense of self. Embrace your vulnerability, because it’s through facing these fears that you’ll find true, lasting love.
12H MARS
This can be a tough placement because it often feels like you’re fighting battles no one else can see. There’s a tendency towards self-sabotage, as the aggressive energy of Mars turns inward. You might find yourself in situations where you feel unable to express the intensity of your emotions or assert your power. You may even find it hard to assert yourself openly, leading to suppressed anger & frustration that festers over time. The key is flipping the script, and working on empowering yourself, healing self-sabotaging tendencies, etc. Your subconscious isn’t your enemy, but a part of you that needs acknowledgment and care.
4H MARS
You might have grown up in an environment where arguments & tensions were the norm, leaving you feeling constantly on edge, scared, or unsettled. This placement can make it hard to find peace at home, and you might struggle with feeling safe & secure in your adult life. Finding healthy outlets for your anger and learning to create a sense of security within yourself can help transform that destabilizing, Mars energy into something positive. It can help you break the cycle of conflict and create a home environment that nurtures you rather than wounds.
1H CHIRON
Chiron in the 1H feels like carrying a wound that no one else can see, but that you can always feel. It's a deep pain tied to your identity, that constant struggle with self-acceptance & stepping out of your shell. You might often find yourself second-guessing who you are, feeling like you need to hide parts of yourself to be accepted. It’s like wearing a mask, trying to be who you think others want you to be because being your true self feels too risky. Maybe you faced criticism that cut deep and left scars on your self-esteem. This can make stepping into the spotlight, or even just being comfortable in your own skin, incredibly challenging. But, as you work through your own pain, you become a beacon of hope and support for others. Your vulnerability becomes your strength, showing others that it’s okay to have wounds, to feel out of place and that healing is possible. In embracing your true self, flaws and all, you inspire others to do the same.
This is Part 1! Let me know if you want to see more placements and the difficulties they can indicate.

Chiron in astrology represents the "wounded healer" archetype, symbolizing areas of deep sensitivity and vulnerability but also where profound healing and wisdom can be found. When Chiron is placed in the houses of a birth chart, it indicates the specific life areas where these themes manifest. Here's a brief overview of Chiron's significance in each house:

2nd House: Values, resources, and self-worth. Chiron here may bring challenges related to financial security, self-esteem, or personal values. Healing may come through developing a healthier relationship with money and possessions or by recognizing one's inherent worth beyond material possessions.
3rd House: Communication, learning, and siblings. Chiron here may manifest as difficulties in communication, learning disabilities, or strained relationships with siblings. Healing may be found through improving communication skills, expressing oneself authentically, or reconciling past conflicts with siblings.
4th House: Home, family, and roots. Chiron here may indicate wounds stemming from family dynamics, childhood experiences, or a sense of belonging. Healing may come through creating a nurturing home environment, exploring ancestral heritage, or establishing emotional boundaries with family members.
5th House: Creativity, self-expression, and romance. 7th House: Partnerships, marriage, and open enemies. Chiron here may indicate wounds related to relationships, partnerships, or issues with commitment. Healing may be found through developing healthier relationship patterns, learning to compromise and cooperate with others, or resolving past relationship traumas.
8th House: Transformation, intimacy, and shared resources. Chiron here may manifest as deep emotional wounds, trust issues, or difficulties in navigating intimate relationships. Healing may come through embracing vulnerability, exploring the depths of one's psyche, or transforming past traumas into sources of empowerment.
9th House: Philosophy, beliefs, and higher education. Chiron here may bring challenges related to belief systems, higher learning, or spiritual exploration. Healing may be found through expanding one's perspective, embracing a personal philosophy that resonates deeply, or engaging in spiritual practices that promote self-discovery and growth.
10th House: Career, public image, and authority. Chiron here may indicate wounds related to career aspirations, public recognition, or issues with authority figures. Healing may come through finding purpose in one's career path, reclaiming personal power, or integrating aspects of the self that have been disowned or suppressed.
11th House: Friends, groups, and social causes. Chiron here may manifest as feelings of alienation, difficulty forming friendships, or struggles with social acceptance. Healing may be found through connecting with like-minded individuals, contributing to social causes that align with one's values, or embracing one's uniqueness within social circles.
12th House: Spirituality, subconscious, and hidden enemies. Chiron here may bring deep-seated wounds, spiritual crises, or feelings of isolation and loneliness. Healing may come through spiritual practices, introspection, or connecting with the collective unconscious. Embracing compassion, forgiveness, and self-transcendence can lead to profound healing and spiritual growth.
Examples
Angelina Jolie:
Chiron in the 1st House: She has been open about her struggles with self-image and confidence, especially regarding her physical appearance. However, she has also embraced her uniqueness and used her platform to advocate for various humanitarian causes, embodying the wounded healer archetype.
Leonardo DiCaprio:
Chiron in the 7th House: DiCaprio has had high-profile relationships and has been known for his intense portrayals of love and romance on screen. However, he has also faced public scrutiny and criticism in his personal life, which may reflect Chironic wounds related to relationships and partnerships.
Lady Gaga:
Chiron in the 2nd House: Gaga has been vocal about her struggles with self-worth and mental health issues, particularly during her early years in the music industry. However, she has used her experiences to inspire others and advocate for mental health awareness, embracing her vulnerabilities as a source of strength and creativity.
Brad Pitt:
Chiron in the 4th House: Pitt's personal life has been heavily scrutinized by the media, especially regarding his relationships and family dynamics. Despite facing challenges in his personal life, he has been open about his journey of self-discovery and growth, demonstrating resilience and emotional depth in the face of adversity.

Responsible Actions - A Spiritual Story
It’s a pleasure to lay myself out with great vulnerability in this newsletter. I don’t think there is one of you who hasn’t lived through those times when you feel emotionally, physically, mentally in a wobbly space, where you are completely unsure.
There have been some really on the edge parts of my life, and those were where I had to take the advice of an honest tough love girlfriend, and pull up my big girl panties, to simply get on with it.
I had recently opened a fair size healing center. It had the potential for an open classroom, in the center of it all, with 5 healing rooms off that open space. I had met a young, gifted British healer, who was willing to step in with me, to share that space. I was smart enough to create the whole foundation as a corporation, protecting whatever was going to be generated.
Four months into that commitment, my mother became really, very ill. She was diagnosed with an unusual, aggressive cancerous tumor behind her nasal cavity. They operated within days, removing half of her face. It was a horrendous thing to “face” for her and a complete shock for me. I was managing my time between her healing, doctor visits, small repair surgeries, prosthetic appointments to provide parts to make her face more acceptable publicly. I went to the center, then rushed home, feeding her soup and liquids only, because she had such a challenge to sustain life, then returning to the center to work with clients, to keep the new business moving along.
My British partner wasn’t happy to take on so much, and turned all my part-time staff against me, then her and all of them all quit the same day. I was fully responsible for a large center, all the costs and potential work that could come into it, all by myself. I was also responsible for helping my beloved, brave mum to return to full health. It was a lot!
I took as much action as I could, and was openly promoting my business, pulling in people to rent space and fill the rooms with healers. I was also rushing home every meal time, to feed and comfort my mum as she grew stronger.
I was in full action mode, on the treadmill of business, and being busy in all areas of life. I still had a child at home who needed dropping off, picking up and help with homework.
I didn’t realize how raw and truly vulnerable I was until I received a letter from an attorney, representing the British woman, who was attempting to sue me for the full return of her portion of any and all investment into my new business. I completely lost it, burst into tears and was not consolable. This was my breaking point. My husband, who had been leading his life the same as he always had, suddenly awoke, stepped up and had a good friend of his respond to the legal demands. Thank goodness I had set up the business as a corporation, allowing no room for such frivolous demands to be met.
The British woman went away. My husband was quite the hero at that time for me. My mum got strong and returned to the healing center, and I lived to fight for another beautiful day in the light of a healer.
This for me, was an example of responsible action at a time in life when it was needed the most.

Astro observations part 8
Tumblr media
[LONG EDITION] - taken from my phone's notes (also, i was too lazy to edit it so here's a nice chunk of info)
🍂 Sun conjunct Saturn individuals inherit mindsets from the father, grandparents or great-grandparents. They might never fully act like their Sun sign (aka "shine"), since they've been conditioned from a young age to listen to parents, teachers, and later on bosses. They are the type to never divorce, no matter how toxic their marriage is. If these peeps deal well with their Saturn Return, they might become "THE BOSS" (aka the person everyone looks up to due to how accomplished, disciplined and rich they are, they've literally got their shit together and deserve a round of applause, "it wasn't easy to get to the top, but it was worth it" - you might hear them say this). They are also more prone to ingrain stoic principles in their lifestyle
🍂 Mars square Neptune gives off major cult leader vibes. They're the type to fool you with false promises until you sign up for their "camp" but then you realize it's actually an evil cult where all they wanna do is put you to work (and maybe later even kill you lol). These individuals become very scary when angry (you don't wanna see them angry, trust me). If they ever commit suicide, it'll be by drowning, alcohol or drugs
🍂 Mars trine Neptune is one of the best aspects for those who make a living off their talents. The talent depends on the element the trine is in:
If it's in Earth signs - ideal for those who work in the "money handling sector" in advertising, becoming an entrepeneur, holistic care (if Virgo is involved), cooks, those who work in interior design, seamstresses, embroidery/lace makers, models, event planners If it's in Air signs - ideal for those who work in sales (their negotiation skills are ✨chef's kiss👌🏻✨), becoming a spiritual/religious teacher or an art/music/any other creative pursuit teacher (lmao, i can't even speak💀💀), writers, musicians, magicians and astrologers (for the last two - if Aquarius is involved) If it's in Fire signs - ideal for dancers, theater/movie actors, hairstylists, circus performers, photographers (only if Leo is involved) If it's in Water signs - ideal for make-up artists, painters, tarot readers
🍂 Moon sextile Uranus individuals have got the ability to create a positive parasocial relationship with their followers. Since these people often use their devices to validate their emotions, i wouldn't be surprised if most of y'all also have atleast one active profile where you post quite frequently
PRO TIP: Whenever Transit Jupiter is trining/conjuncting your Natal Uranus (to a less extent also the sextile), you'll get a sudden boost in your followers count
🍂 This is a theory of mine that i've come up with and i'd love to hear your thoughts on it. When it comes to intergenerational astrology, i do believe that we inherit all of our personal planets placements from our parents and ancestors. But then you might say "But i don't act like my mother at all! This is bullshit!". I'm not saying we're all carbon copies of our family members. What makes us unique and distinguishes us from our parents and grandparents (or even great-grandparents) are the way the planets aspect each other in our birth charts and the planetary configurations between them. Basically we start from the same ground, but we all use our traits differently, whether for the better or the worst expression of them. Let's not forget that we also tend to go through different life experiences than our parents and grandparents; we might be blessed with different opportunities that might enhance our best traits and help us achieve what our ancestors always wanted to but weren't able to
Hope you enjoyed today's post, loves!💗💗💗 I've been wanting to post for a while now but my inspiration has been wandering alone in the Sahara Desert I can't promise that i'll start posting again more frequently (the new uni year is starting soon for me + i enrolled in a local astrology school 2 weeks ago🥳🥳 ya girl can't wait to officially become an astrologer) but my inbox will be open again for further questions! I must also thank you for helping me hit 500 followers!!! I'm probably gonna do another ask game once i hit 600 followers, as i'm too busy right now. As always, don't forget to drink water and take care of yourselves! Hope to see you soon! ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚

Astrology Disciplines
Natal Astrology - Focuses on the natal/birth chart as it describes your life unfolding. While this can dip into predictive astrology this isn't a requirement. Some astrologers (like me!) may primarily focus on one's personality and environment that the natal chart describes vs. predicting events. Natal Astrology is also used to guide people in relationships and career.
Predictive Astrology - This discipline usually combines natal charts with current astrological positions and/or other chart types to predict the future. Horoscopes and analyzing the current day-to-day movements of planets is part of this practice. While secondary progressions are typically an introspective area of astrology, they may be used here for personal predictions.
Counseling Astrology - Historically there have been many counselors or therapists that combine their skills with astrology. Currently many therapists or counselors are likely to condemn the use of astrology in the field. But it is worth notating that this is a type of astrological discipline that has existed and played a major role in shaping modern astrology. e.g. Carl Jung.
Synastry - This branch of astrology is used to analyze relationships. The famous synastry chart would be used here along with composite charts. Technically comparing two natal charts for chemistry and compatibility would fall under this type of astrology. This could be debated among astrologers, but you can find books/text that group any type of relationship readings under the "synastry" discipline. (My other specialty 😊)
Medical Astrology - A type of astrology that typically uses the natal chart along with astrological medical associations to conduct a reading. The humours, Sun Sign, planetary ruler, chart ruler, and elemental balance play a large role here. The 6th House is important as well. Medical astrologers typically approach health holistically and usually prescribe appropriate herbs or homeopathic remedies. Because I never want to mislead someone medically or scientifically, please research and approach this style of astrology with caution.
Karmic Astrology - Many different types of charts may be used here depending on the astrologer and client's goals. Here astrology is focused on dealing with struggles of the present based on a past life. This type of astrology is used to help people stop negative patterns or cycles. Many also use this type of astrology to connect with their spiritual selves or to incorporate spiritualism into their lives. Natal Charts, Relationship Charts, Secondary Progressions, and Draconic Charts may all be used. Some astrologers may also incorporate other spiritual methods into their practice such as tarot, dice, runes, etc.
Horary Astrology - These astrologers deal in specific questions such as "Should I move?", "Should I adopt a new pet?", "Should I make a career change?". This is a mixture of predictive astrology and advice. A chart is usually prepared for the exact time the question was asked. This form of astrology focuses on current astrological positions and has a unique set of rules due to its immediate nature.
Electional Astrology/Event Astrology - This type of astrology is used to help predict when one should start an event. This type of astrology is highly focused on the timing of something. Common uses of this are to plan a trip or wedding. Historically planning an attack or battle falls under this type of astrology. An Entrepeneur might use this type of astrology to find the best time to start a business or launch a product. This type of astrology may use or reference the natal chart and depends greatly on current astrological placements and tracking future dates and celestial movements.
Mundane Astrology - This discipline focuses on world events, politics, and socioeconomic trends. This form of astrology has its own unique set of rules and multiple methods. Charts may be drawn up for people, nations, cities, groups, organizations, and many more elements depending on the subject. This form of astrology may take a lot of analysis across multiple charts and reports.
Business Astrology - The practice of making business decisions based on astrological advice. Some astrologers may consult business owners using multiple methods that can cross over to the other disciplines. Finances, investments, and relationship building are all themes for this type of astrology, but the core focus is to guide and grow a business.

Note
So, i was supposed to be an arcane nexus. The 7th son of the 7th son, my birth was supposed to 'bring about the restoration of my clans magical talents'. Only it didn't happen, and kept not happening for 20 years. My family thinks they got the math wrong and its gonna happen when i get my magic. But i recently figured something out Im trans. Meaning i was never the 7th son, im never going to get magic, not my dad's anyway. How do i tell him. I don't think he'll have a problem with it. But basically having to tell him he's gonna have to go make me a little brother, because i found the math error is gonna be really awkward.
First of all, congratulations! I hope you can find time to celebrate this moment of self-discovery and to delight in all the wonderful things yet to come as you embark on your life as a trans person. I understand that this throws your family's plans rather into disarray, but it's also rather affirming, in its way. The magic you “ought” to have inherited recognised your true gender before you did!
How you handle this really depends on your relationship with your parents. You said you don't think your dad will have an issue with your gender identity, which certainly makes things easier. There is plenty of advice out there on the matter of coming out to one's family. If you're not sure where to start, your local library will likely have some helpful resources to get you started.
On the magical side of things, I'm afraid you're quite right in thinking you probably won't be blessed with magical ability any time soon. If the inheritance calls for sons then sons it must have. However, as your own experience aptly demonstrates, magic responds to reality in a far more holistic sense than the merely biological.
You are not a man. You know this of yourself, and while your biology may have caused some confusion on the matter up to this point, it was not the whole story. Magic responds to the whole story.
As such, your parents need not scrabble around trying to have another child biologically. They might adopt a seventh son instead – and that son need not even be a child. In fact, there are some individuals who offer themselves up for adoption for a fee, fulfilling prophecies or magical inheritances to whoever makes them the best deal.
If your parents are considering that avenue, I recommend they secure the services of a solicitor with plenty of experience in liminal contract work. Look for any firm that advertises themselves as “good folk”, “honest neighbours” or similar.
You aren't responsible for the expectations other people place on you. Concentrate on celebrating your new identity, and leave the rest to your parents. After all, it was their failure of imagination that got them into this situation. Being trans is hardly as unusual as all that, and if they'd really wanted to secure the family's magical future, they could have given you a little brother as a fail-safe.

SATURN GOOD OR BAD AS PER VEDIC ASTROLOGY
In Vedic astrology, Saturn (Shani) is a significant planet with a complex influence, often associated with discipline, responsibility, delay, and karma. Its effects can be either positive or negative, depending on several factors in a person’s birth chart. Here are some key factors considered to determine if Saturn is "good" (benefic) or "bad" (malefic):
1. House Placement
Good Placement: Saturn is generally considered benefic in the 3rd, 6th, and 11th houses. Here, it often brings discipline, stability, and material gains.
Challenging Placement: Saturn may give more challenging results in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, and 12th houses, as it can bring struggles, delays, and hardships in these houses.
2. Zodiac Sign
Exaltation and Debilitation: Saturn is exalted in Libra (where it performs well) and debilitated in Aries (where it may create more challenges).
Own Signs: Saturn rules Capricorn and Aquarius, where it is more comfortable and generally performs positively.
3. Aspects and Conjunctions
Aspect with Benefic Planets: If Saturn has aspects or conjunctions with benefic planets like Jupiter or Venus, its malefic influence can be softened.
Aspect with Malefic Planets: Conjunctions or aspects with malefics like Mars, Rahu, or Ketu can intensify Saturn's harsh or restrictive qualities.
4. Dasha (Planetary Periods)
During Saturn’s Mahadasha (main period) or Antardasha (sub-period), its influence becomes more pronounced. A well-placed Saturn can bring career growth, structure, and stability, whereas a poorly placed Saturn may lead to setbacks, delays, or health issues.
5. Nakshatras (Lunar Mansions)
Saturn’s position in certain nakshatras can alter its effects. For example, in the nakshatra Pushya, Saturn tends to give more auspicious outcomes. Saturn in more intense or difficult nakshatras like Ashlesha or Ardra can bring challenges.
6. Saturn's Position in Divisional Charts (Vargas)
The placement of Saturn in divisional charts like the Navamsa (D9) and Dashamsa (D10) can further refine its impact, particularly in areas like career and spiritual life.
7. Aspects on Other Houses and Planets
Saturn's special aspects on the 3rd, 7th, and 10th houses from its position can influence different areas of life. Its aspect on a benefic house can stabilize and give structure, while its aspect on a malefic house can amplify challenges in those areas.
8. Retrograde and Direct Motion
When Saturn is retrograde, its energy tends to turn inward, and it often brings delayed results or challenges in areas it governs. Retrograde Saturn can sometimes lead to introspection and karmic re-evaluation, which can ultimately be beneficial if lessons are learned.
A benefic Saturn usually brings structure, responsibility, and lasting rewards through hard work, while a malefic Saturn may lead to obstacles, delays, and restrictions.
Saturn's influence is perceived as good or bad depends on how it interacts with other planets and factors in the birth chart. A well-aspected Saturn can bring structure and success, while challenging aspects may indicate difficulties or delays that require patience and perseverance to overcome.
Therefore, a strongly placed Saturn is not always good or bad, but rather a mixed blessing. It can give the person a strong character, but also a heavy burden. It can help the person achieve their goals, but also test their endurance. It can teach the person valuable lessons, but also make them suffer. The key is to balance the positive and negative aspects of Saturn, and to use its energy wisely and constructively.
Its overall influence is determined by examining the chart holistically and considering the factors above in relation to other planets and signs in the natal chart.
