2023 Gävle Goat!

Well it’s getting to that time of year again, and our watch of the Gävle Goat approaches.

Our thirteen-meter tall straw friend will be inaugurated on December 3rd, and will stand for the holiday season (or until it burns).

To ensure good luck going forward into 2023, I am of the opinion that we ought to burn the giant straw goat in Gävle. Since it most likely WON'T burn this year (due to higher security around it, and the fact that it has been relocated to an area where burning it would be irresponsible and more dangerous), I have done the next best thing. If next year is one small straw goat's worth better than this one has been, you can thank me later. I accept gratitude in the form of thumbs up, and gracious gifts of potato chips and interesting curios. Merry Goatsmas, one and all.

Okay, I celebrate two religious holidays on tumblr: Halloween and Gävle Goat. Those Swedish goat builders have no idea about the significance of ritualized holiday arson, but I do.
