HoggyWartyXmas 2023 on Livejournal

HoggyWartyXmas on Livejournal is a Christmas fest focusing on Hoggywarty Characters, i.e., Hogwarts staff, former Hogwarts professors, and older characters in the series. The community is running three events this year. All works are due on December 5.

Anonymous Prompt Fest: For fic and art. No word count limit. Each prompt can be claimed twice. Self-prompting is allowed. Claiming and sign-up open till September 30 11:59pm GMT.

Book Club: Rec a fic or art and write a short post about it.

Be Creative Event: Create a fanwork in any medium other than fic and art. It can be podfics, videos, crafts, recipes, poetry and anything you can think of. The sky's the limit.

As I may have said in Sept, I wrote an a cappella Christmas mashup of

and now that it has a name, the

Embers and Soot Choir is looking for people!

Here all the information I think might be relevant:

•    I'm looking for voices of all types and ranges. Your being comfortable singing and a quiet room are the only requirements; no sheet-reading abilities or musical training or specialist equipment or setup needed.

my year in fic

Thanks for the tag @wolfpants! I've needed to do a roundup post for the year, and your post was a good reminder to do so! I've accomplished a lot in 2023, but specifically looking at fics...I've written 27(ish) fics this year, and surpassed 100 fics total this year! 182,231 (posted) words. I wrote several fics I've long wanted to write. And 3 fics from this year jumped right up to my Top 10 favorites (if not top 5!) 2023 has been a good year for writing, I think! And I can't wait to see what I accomplish in 2024.

HoggyWartyXmas Prompt Fest on Livejournal is open for claiming from now till September 30 at 23:59 GMT. Each prompt can be claimed twice. All works are due on December 5. Posting will tentatively begin on December 23. (I'm not the fest mod by the way; I'm just second-guessing the posting date based on previous years.)

This is an anonymous fest. There is no minimum or maximum word count for fic. Art is also welcome. The only requirement is that your work should feature at least one of the Hoggywarty characters, i.e. Hogwarts staff and older characters in the series. Stay in therapy - even if things don't work out with therapist, find a new one. Don't wait. Don't be disheartened. Keep going!

Take up meditation again - meditation is hard for me but I always felt better when I was doing it.

Take up yoga again - or other light physical activity.

Travel! I love to travel, even if it's within the state. I'd ideally like to get back to New Orleans, but my partner and I also plan on going to Universal again (Florida or California? Undecided) and maybe Utah in the fall. But just getting out of town at all would be nice!

Keep up with my planner. I fell out of the habit during covid and I felt a lot better when I was keeping up with it.

Finish decluttering/reorganizing apartment. We're in the middle of it and I love it so far!!!!

Self-care - honestly the hardest. But I need to learn to set boundaries, rest/relax, have fun, and prioritize myself.
