Since the Wilds-Era showcases a Gerudo society without a king I’d like to think back when Gerudo males were born they were presented the choice of becoming a king when they came of age. If they accept they rule as king & if they don’t a chief runs things.

In my dumb AU Ganon doesn’t wish to be king as he wants to travel the lands discovering the world around him. I made his design to be more casual than the ornate Gerudo attire. Homie is in his twenties & obviously cares for his home’s customs but his ambitions give him the ‘I’m in the pilot’s chair of my life’ vibe.

Stopped messing around with alts to finish the DLC on at least one character XD

Slight SPOILER WARNING and opinions on the DLC now that I fully completed it:

Personally I really liked it, the new weapons were fun, I absolutely LOVED the backhand blades for my berserker lady(love the anime rush/ash of war move, its probably one of the more lore accurate moves I got for her from the whole game XD ), and I have started enjoying the Smithscript Daggers and Cirques with my sharpsooter lady and the Smithscript Axe has felt really great on my big Faith/Str viking boi.

Bosses were enjoyable for the most part, Hog Rider needs a fucking hitbox fix cause its absolutely busted.

And, while I loved the spectacle of the final boss, Phase 2 is the most obnoxious thing I have seen in a from software game, this piece is to illustrate my frustration with this fight, the lightshow its fucking absurd, cant see shit trought the whole thing and the fact that the 2nd phase starts so early in the fight is absolute BS!

But I did manage to beat it without changing my RP build an not using a spirit until like 30% of his health on my last 2 atempts, so im happy about that.

Def gonna be using spirits in the DLC now that my first run is done.

Overall that was really the only absolutely terrible time I had with the bosses(and HogRider, took me less tries than expected but hated every minute of it XD )

Lore was fun, not a huge fan of the conclusion (Its no Ringed City or Old Hunters levels of epic conclusion imo)

Absolutely loved 2 specific NPCs

Also, that Scatman Fragments system, didnt hate it , but Helping people feels pretty terrible with how they work in coop. Not a fan of that experience so far.

Overall, enjoyed my time and will be enjoying my time with my other 2 main characters

If not not correct but definitely warm so here's my take. The reason I say this is because the craze started I would assume days maybe weeks before FMC had even touched berk. I mean she's badass if that theory were actually true i wouldnt be that suprised come on!

But it still doesn't match up in my opinion. My client FMC is innocent (Only when it pertains to kingstails murder) because she was bullying hiccup at the time of the victims slaughter! *if I don't have my times wrong* and besides FMC was pissed at hiccup hogging the remains to himself! She didn't get time to inspect it! I know she's deranged but it makes no sense to inspect your meals body HOWEVER!

There is a connection between the true murderer and the accused! That is why FMC was able to arrive at the crime scene just a few moments earlier than the investigators. Especially since during the feast she felt sick to the stomach and at one point her senses were screaming 'other,other,other'. Other what? Other kind? Could the beast be like FMC but a more deranged unstable bloodthirsty monster!? That is exactly what I'm saying! FMC's species is just a 2.0 version of the criminal. that would also help explain her tactics in viking slaughter and I'm all here for it!

a bit of writing good news

hey tumblr folks, I keep this blog separate from my professional blog even though there is some crossover, because I want to be able to go fandom hog wild on here and have fun and write fanfic. so I didn't announce it here and I can't link it directly, but in December I got published for the first time in a lit zine!!! It was a short story featuring the characters and some of the lore from my longer novel. It's nothing famous and the pay was tiny, but seeing my name in print as well as my character's names just took my breath away. I'm in my thesis semester in my writing MFA program with a lightly edited draft of a historical fantasy novel set in Viking era Ireland. It has a lot of Irish folklore and Norse mythology woven in. There is SO much left to do but I'm proud of my work so far. As this is my fandom space I can say this here - this book is my love letter to Geraskier. While I still take the characters into what I hope is a different enough direction, the tropes stand true. The wounded warrior who did not have a choice in what he became, and the sassy storyteller searching for his own truth DESERVE a chance for love and happily ever after. I love the Witcher, but the truth is I love those tropes more, and no matter how much queer representation they give in the adaptations, that is never going to be the space where I see it happen. so I made my own.

maybe some day people will like it! till then just keep writing, just keep writing... Geraskier fandom, thank you for being here and creating! and thank you for listening to this post. And a lot of that has to do with the feet, which is part of why I draw her bare foot a lot. Part of her thing is that she's only really a physical fighter- she does lightly use her magic but girlie has to get good. Meanwhile she's gonna crawl up walls for pouncing advantage.

And yes Alastor still has his monocle on, (Scurri took her glasses off) He...might sleep with it on. I can't decide what'd be funnier. 🤔 this actually might be before this doodle now that I think about it.

I like to think given the time period Alastor knew where the hog farms were for body disposal. There's a bunch of old tales about pigs that they will eat anything in their pen and if a pig tastes human blood you gotta put it down because it'll get aggressive and try to go after people idk about the second one but pigs will absolutely eat humans! A lil prep before hand and well nomnom.

The gator bait is more of a joke because I don't think they are that effective at complete consumption but if he plotted it right he maybe could fool authorities that it was a gator death. Forensics wasn't as good back then.

Dinner is dinner, though it's not said if he was a cannibal in life or if he started in death.

My favorite body disposal method is tossing that body in a hole and planting a tree over it actually but what I mean by fertilizer here is the nitrogen gas frozen body then pulverized version. However composting does yield lovely fertilizer as well.

Aquamation is using water for cremation type effect leaving only bones behind for later powedering in a cremulator.

Funeral pyre is like you think, only instead of the 'viking funeral' which will burn out before cremation it's more of an open air bonfire with the body in the middle. Loved ones or hired people will continually feed the fire until completion. These can be lovely ceremonies as loved ones can bring flowers or other burnable memorabilia to add to the fire.

This actually all futher plays into the opposite but complementary nature of Scurri vs Alastor. Alastor of course thinks of the dead in terms of meat vs Scurri thinking of them in terms of meaningful disposition. Design wise I like that they are two sides of the same coin.

Scurri has to be a physical brawler vs Alastors magic allowing him distance in fights, he can dip dive dodge but could you imagine him kicking someone in the face? Highly unlikely. Scurri has to dress for fighting whenever possible and Alastor is afforded his sense of style that would otherwise make fist fighting difficult. Scurri being my self insert would actually like to wear delicate clothing but isn't afforded that luxury yet. Same with her short hair. Her tail is huge weak point I joke with my friends it's a 4 feet long handle attached to her spine so she keeps her hair short, dont need ANOTHER thing for opponents to grab onto. Vs Alastor who if he has a tail it would be comparatively shorter. Fucking try grabbing his tail. You can't because you're dead for trying.

Alastor is a prey animal that has completely overcome his form, Scurri is doing her best okay.

So why do they hang out and eventually become queer platonic partners? They make each other laugh. Yeah Jessica Rabbit said it best. Ace icon she is.

Anyway this wandered a little from the point BUT I do plan on actually writing a profile. Usually my inserts are just me in hats but I reworked Scurri and then you know, she did kill a guy to go to Hell which (knock on wood) I have most definitely not done. So she's both me and not me. Love that for her.

I have a whole lore background and she doesn't even go to the Hotel until her 3rd year of being in Hell due to finding a found family (tm) and such.

So we have the great axe of Knustafr Ulvarsson - who had fought side by side with Rauðaskjǫldr, yes - with a runic inscription that confirms the past ownership that Grenn receives from Hrœhyrn - Knustafr's son - as his main weapon (check), a silvery shining sax covered in sea motifs from the wide, ginger and freckled fisherman with just as wide, ginger and feckled family, Jǫrm Jǫrmsson (check), a case for the fishy knife decorated with golden scenes of wild hog hunts from the twins Svenn and Svína whose father - the boars-befriending Svínabani, disgrace of his swines-slaying family - had been gutted by one in his naive attempt of reckless pacifism (check), a big sword sheet covered in crude images of exotic and highly stylised horned figures from Dreiða or 'Trütta', a robust troll originally foreign to the village and girlfriend of the smaller but still strong Bróga who's the one to lend the nigh ancient shortsword that her father Øski received through his marriage to.. to.. Hm.

Eh, this is more than enough for now. From Bróga shall too be the iron helm modified by the smithy Ægnir (triple check). His round, red shield then would be the work of the whole Sauðsskítstaðr as everyone would try to help out with the recreation of Rauðaskjǫldr's legendary namegiver - and especially the children (check) - his ornamented clothes will be mostly bought or fresh sawn (check), and the chainmail.. together with many other trinkets it would be from Hoddr 'Samnandi' - the Collector' (check). Wellp.. Guess, I'm all set now.

HRNNNNN, ok, ok, there we go, it's just a simple matter of family names and patronymic names acompanied by occasional nicknames, everything's fine. So the proper name of Grenn's second wife therefore is Eugenía (Εὐγενῐ́ᾱ) Prasinoarktos (Πράσῐνοᾰρκτος) born Hierologína (Ίερολογίνα) but the folks will still call her either Augéni (as a sort of adaptation of her original given name into their language) or 'Valfríðr' in the sense of 'Foreign beauty' but Grenn's first wife Særsýn does try to call her Eugenía as to make her feel more at home because SHE is the one who persuaded her into staying after she escaped from the norse pirates - being almost sold into slavery - and somehow got to Sauðsskístaðr where they (Grenn and Sær) took her under their wings. And aye, there is a lot of sparks and chemistry between the two of them even though Eugenía is an actual human while Sær is a notably tall troll with long, luscious locks of pure gingerness, face covered with freckles and YES SHE'S PART OF THE JǪRMKYN FAMILY. Because those bastards - AND ESPECIALLY THE FIRSTBORN JǪRMS (except maybe for Jǫrm son of Jǫrm Feiti and we'll see about his own son Jǫrm Gulli) - breed like damn rabbits. No wonder they practically own the docks! But aye, Grenn was quite lucky - the way his peers see it at least - that Œrði was one of Fat Jǫrm's best mates otherwise he'd promise Sær to someone completely different. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON-
