My top 5 favourite Liu Kang Actors

5. Tom Choi

I loved Tom Choi voice acting as Liu Kang in both Mortal Kombat 9 & X/XL. Tom is a Korean American actor like the Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 guy but instead he's a voice actor in the Mortal Kombat franchise. He acting in a few Disney shows and he is recently in Netflix popular Korean show Squid Games. I liked that it brought the Shaolin Monk feeling in Liu Kang and it's felt like the pride of a Shaolin warrior as Liu Kang is a Shaolin Monk like his cousin Kung Lao and Kung Lao nephew Kung Jin.

He first voiced Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 9 which was brilliant and then he voiced Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat X/XL which was amazing. Tom is such a talented voice actor for Liu Kang and it would be amazing if he done Liu Kang once again.

4. Matthew Yang King

I got to give respect though to this guy who voiced act as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 11. He was amazing had the same as Tom Choi. Even though I don't enjoy Mortal Kombat 11, his voice acting was good.

Spoiler Alert: Mattew Yang King is also voicing Netherealms new moblie game. I am saving storage for that lol.

3. Brian Tee

I was surprised to notice that my favourite Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift Character was then Liu Kang. Honestly who can't dislike Brian Tee though so Talented. His first cameo was actually in Austin Powers in Goldmember. Yes you would see a very young Brian Tee in 2002 before 5 years on when you went to Tokyo Drift as the main villain called DK Takashi, who is part of the Yakuza with his Uncle who races against Sean for DK's girlfriend.

Brian Tee plays Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat Legacy the next Mortal Kombat series in the 2010s generation in Season 2. He's not like the other Liu Kang's nor Robin Shou's in the 1995 Mortal Kombat Movie, Brain wears a red shirt and leather Jacket, not quiet the Liu Kang we was expecting but I didn't mind as I love leather jackets hehe.

2. Robin Shou

Out of the blooms. Such an excellent fighter. I thought he was amazing playing as Liu Kang. It's also surprised me that Robin is July same as me and his number birth is 4 days before mine lol, but he was born in the 60s, as I was in the 2000s. Even more though he is taller then me I am smaller then him.

Before Robin Shou became Liu Kang he started in Hong Kong learning Mix Martial Arts and training in China. But then he was called to try out some Hong Kong films. So he started out to do stunts even though he didn't know what stunt was back in the 80s. He then goes on to act in Hong Kong films like Tiger Cage 2 and In the line of Duty 3 with Donnie Yen and Big Brother, The., Death Cage, City War and many more He also made a Brief Appearance in Big Heat, The.

When he came back to America a friend of his who works with Warner Brothers asked him if he could join the cast for a new movie in 1995 called Mortal Kombat who was directed by Paul S.W Anderson who made the Resident Evil series Movies & 2022 Monster Hunter. He didn't know what Mortal Kombat was he only heard it from the Game Liu Kang who was in Hong Kong filming a movie with Jackie Chan.

Robin took the role of doing not just action but Chorography in the movie. I loved Robin Shou and even though the new movie came out, Robin was right he is the chosen one but he's the movie chosen one . I will always love the 1995 Movie one better

Ho Sung Pak

I love him 100%. This guy is amazing Mix Martial Artist, so skilled. Ho Sung Pak was the first ever Liu Kang in both Mortal Kombat 1 and 2. Sung started doing Mix Martial Arts in around 80 or 81 with his brother Ho Young Pak. He stopped doing Mix Martial Arts tournaments to go on then to Film directing. Sung is also Korean American the same as Tom Choi.

Before Mortal Kombat Ho Sung was asked to play one of the thugs in the movie The Legend Of The Drunken Master (Drunken Master 2) as a character called Henry. I loved him in that whether he plays bad or good in movies he still amazing. Sung then came back to Chicago and his friend Daniel Pesina asked him if he could take part in the game Mortal Kombat and Daniel told him about it and he said "As long as we have fun I will do it".

Ho Sung came out in the first Mortal Kombat game in a Bruce Lee style black Kung Fu pants (Trousers), White Sneakers (Trainers) and he had short hair. He already had the short hair from Dunken Master 2 with a suite he has two different suits one suite that is blue blazer and trousers with a pinkie purple tie I don't know lol and another one with black blazer and trousers and black tie.

Honestly Ho Sung Pak is my most favourite Liu Kang in games and I always say even though there has been some good Liu Kang actors for the game no one could beat Ho Sung Pak he is the games Chosen one.

Fun Fact: Both Ho Sung Pak and Robin Shou met in Hong Kong. So when ever you hear Robin Shou saying he knows the original Liu Kang, he knows Ho Sung Pak from Hong Kong.

Liu Kang - 2024 redesign.

For this look, I wanted to combine elements both old and new. He has the color scheme from New MK1, but this is Human Liu Kang as opposed to the Fire God version from that game.

The headband is now a Dark Blue with the MK symbol on the center to show his position as "the Shaolin's champion".

His pants are also Dark Blue, but I am thinking of making the color for them an even darker shade for future drawings.

He has a White uniform top with the insignia of the White Lotus Society on it, to show off his role as a member of the clan. The White also shows his purity.

His bracers and sash are the traditional Red color that is often associated with Liu Kang's design. The Red shows off his somewhat hotheaded personality, though it is balanced by the calmer Blue in the design.

I didn't draw the rest of his legs, but he will have Black Kung Fu shoes with White socks and Red leg wraps, which show off his Shaolin roots.

The general pose and likeness were based on Robin Shou and Ho-Sung Pak.

IguanaBee in ExpoGame 2023

ExpoGame Santiago was celebrated on the 13th (Fri), 14th (Sat) & 15th (Sun), in Estación Mapocho. I wanted to go by the special guests as Daniel Pesina, Carlos Pesina, Ho-Sung Pak (Mortal Kombat Original Game Actors) & Charles Martinet (Original Voice Actor of Mario) but they can´t go (the good news ExpoGame give me back my money).

But in ExpoGame, IguanaBee was invited as an exhibitor for the 3 days, with a wonderful space and location for the stands. The demo that we showed is The Amazing Crackpots Clubs!, an incredible development between Astrobard Games (formed by some mate works of In Vitro Games & friends of Oscar Gacitua, Lead Programmer of the game) with co-development and published by IguanaBee.

I went on Sunday in the afternoon to help the team, I was amazed because the event had the same level of production that Festigame had in years past. Was a funny and incredible moment at ExpoGame, a lot of people enjoyed playing The amazing Crackpots Club!

Pán, kterého jsme si dnes vzali na paškál, patří bezesporu mezi rockové legendy. Narodil se roku 1959 jako Peretz Bernstein, ale pod tímto jménem ho nejspíš znát nebudete. V osmdesátých létech totiž stvořil nejen alternativní formaci Psi Com, ale i svůj pseudonym Perry Farrell - čti "peripheral" - periferní, okrajový. Kapela inspirovaná Joy Division neměla sice dlouhého trvání, ale Perryho vokál si stačil získat řady příznivců. Ty se značně rozšířily v letech 1987 - 1991, kdy vévodil slavným Jane’s Adiction. Před jejich rozpadem stačil ještě stvořit putovní rockový festival Lollapalooza a než se vrhl do nového hudebního projektu Porno For Pyros, vyzkoušel si filmovou režii u snímku Gift. Po většinu osmdesátých a devadesátých let se Perry Farrell pohyboval pod vlivem všech možných i nemožných substancí, které měly ostatně vliv minimálně na rozložení Jane’s Addiction. Po ukončení chodu Porno For Pyros v roce 1997 se Perry rozhodl k zásadním krokům. Tím prvním byl přechod k sólové kariéře a tím druhým nastoupení střízlivého života. Jak se mu to podařilo, můžete posoudit z následujícího rozhovoru k jeho albu Song Yet To Be Sung. Ovšem "objevení" taneční hudby není v jeho případě zrovna tou správnou trefou. Přestože se na albu silně angažovali například Mad Professor či Marius de Vries, vyznívá Farrellova sólová prvotina dosti zastarale. Jako by se zastavil v polovině devadesátých let a snažil se zběsile chytat nových technologií. Zdá se, že v koncertně znovu fungujících a rockujících Jane's Addiction to přeci jen Perrymu sluší víc.

rozhovor: Pro mě slovo jubilee znamená čas, kdy se člověk na chvilku zastaví a přemýšlí o osvobození, spáse, slavnostech a shromažďování. Chtěl bych, aby z toho vzešlo něco pro charitu. Jubileum.

Představte si, kdyby jsme měli satelitní párty. Všichni bychom byli na satelitech, které by se mohly propojovat a přenést nás tak jako kreslené Jetsonovy na další párty na jiný satelit. Bylo by tam pohodlíčko. Byl by to veget a všichni by se skvěle bavili. Každý z těch satelitů by byl takovým tanečním klubem, kde by byly i chill outy. Prostě hudební exploze.

Na albu jsem začal pracovat zhruba před třemi a půl lety. Bylo to v takovém pohodovém studiu na Venice Beach. Je tam skvělý hutný a nabušený zvuk. Dělali jsme tam večírky, které byly čím dál tím lepší a občas se táhly celou noc. Slavilo se, bylo živo... Ve čtyři ráno mě pak příšerně bolely záda a oči. Ale zvuk byl fakt dobrej. Pořád jsme si to pouštěli. Pohrával jsem si s tóny. Tělo vám začne pulsovat.

Mojí vokální ambicí bylo svézt se na zvukové vlně, která vás vyzývala k tanci. Chtěl jsem to brát z podvědomí. Ve vašem podvědomí máte různé bytosti, které by měly být v harmonii. Máte tam ženskou stránku, možná i malého chlapečka a pak jste tu vy. Zpíval jsem s představou celé téhle kupy. Občas přemýšlím v harmoniích. Je to trošku zvláštní, ale prostě jsem kolem sebe rozprostíral harmonie. Nakonec mě pak napadl hlavní vokál.

Ať se snažíme, jak chceme, inspirace je pro člověka nejvíc vzrušující. Je to zásadní příčina hudby. Musí to vycházet z nás. Ale počítačový systém mám rád. Líbí se mi, co můžeme dělat s původními zvuky. Upravujete je, manipulujete s nimi, až se od původního nástroje dost liší. Obtížné na tvorbě hudby jako takové je to, že hlavně musíte být muzikant.

Teď nepřidáváme jen strunné nástroje a hlas. Teď musíte rozumět i elektronice. Rozumět počítačům a umět je naprogramovat. Jeden člověk vám třeba řekne, že se mu to líbí a že by to možná dokázal, ale zřídka najdete někoho, kdo vám poví: "To se mi líbí. To dokážu. A chlape, měl bys slyšet, jak hraju na kytaru. Nebo jak zpívám, nebo hraju na bicí." Odpovědí je, že najdete hráče, kteří to umí s elektronikou. Pak to funguje skvěle. Akorát je zapotřebí většího úsilí, to je celé.

Když hrajete muziku celý den a po nocích ji posloucháte, přijdou záchvěvy, kdy se všechno vybrousí a hudba se začne linout. Jako by jste začali věštit.

Když vím, že budu vystupovat, tak se nejvíc těším na to uvolnění. Nedělám si legraci. Bude to nádhera. Hraju s klukama, se kterýma mě to ohromně baví. Užíváme si to. Je to, jako když si děcka hrajou na dvorku. Každý má příležitost se pořádně vyřádit. Všechno to ze sebe dostat. A to je moc príma.

Chceme, aby naše vystoupení bylo tip top. Chci vidět společnou reakci - jak celá ta masa lidí reaguje na zvuk.

Jubileum. Aby se každých padesát let zapomnělo na dluhy, aby si lidé navzájem odpustili. Na počest toho by se uspořádala ohromná oslava, vyhlášení svobody - naší volnosti. Já zkusím dát dohromady kapelu. Pak požádám ostatní muzikanty, aby si přišli zahrát. Pak řeknu tanečníkům a performerům, jestli by nechtěli vystoupit. Pak pozvu obecenstvo a budu hledat příhodné místo a další hudebníky. Mým cílem je přivést ohromnou masu lidí do Izraele, aby si zahráli na překrásné párty. Abychom se všichni shromáždili a oslavili jubileum. Díky.

Jackie Chan is his usual charming whirligig self in Chia-Liang Liu's The Legend of Drunken Master, a movie that kung fu film aficionados take a good deal more seriously than I'm able to. In 2010 Time critic Richard Corliss placed it on the magazine's list of the 100 greatest movies made since 1923. There are certainly some breathtaking moments of action in it, along with a hilarious performance by Anita Mui as Chan's stepmother -- she was actually almost a decade younger than he. And I go along with Roger Ebert's comparison of Chan to Buster Keaton, though where Keaton was mostly stillness punctuated by moments of action, Chan is hyperactivity distilled to its essence. Unfortunately, the version of the film I saw was dubbed into English and shorn to fit a different aspect ratio than the original. It also lacks a concluding scene in which Chan's character, Wong Fei-hung, exhibits the effects of drinking methanol, which he does in the climactic fight scene. Apparently it was played for comedy, which the American distributors (perhaps rightly) thought distasteful. If a version of the film closer to the original ever comes around, I'd be happy to give Drunken Master II, which is what its hardcore fans call it, another look.
