Ireland, like the rest of her brood is so increasingly shit at figuring out what to do with the information that she wants to hug and kiss Belgium, but not in a platonic way, so enter in Mattie who at this point is used to dealing with the old farts and their shit butwas still surprised when Ireland straight up went to him and said "We need to talk."

The talk goes something like.

Ireland, being the repressed Anglo she is clams up and says “N-not telling.”

With a little bit of pestering Ireland spills because she needs help and shes been in love for the past about 100 ish years and says “Belgium..”

Matt straight up dies of laughter at this point because litterally anybody could see belgum flirting with ireland, but she is so fucking oblivious to it that it’s funny and after a very harried and frankly adorable love confession a family voice call is ordered and each of  the elders are invited to give their oinion, and overwhelmingly it is positive because they know belgium is a nice lass and even they picked up on the flirting.

after that beause nedcan Matthew is already close enough with benelux and shoots a message to ned to question whether he approves, and he actually does, considering that he knoews ireland is probably the only person in the isles with their head on straight, plus Belgium has told him about her yearning, so thats good.

All in all everyone is happy

NMJ generally doesn't have a face when I think of him lmao so no moustache, NMJ is the one character who I don't really think of in terms of live action or donghua? Because I read mdzs before (i realised) i saw him in the donghua which means he's kind of a mix of donghua and my own brain, and it doesn't help that I primarily think of him as dead tm. I have a very specific image of his decapitated head that I have no idea where I got it from
