Regarding your next gen kids post, sometimes I really do wish there wasn’t an epilogue. That the reader left the world on a hopeful note instead of fast forwarding 19 years later and finding out Harry named his child fucking Albus Severus
ahahaha i know right!!! like i get symbolism and i get neatly wrapping everything up and i get closure but !!! albus severus?? eugh. even ignoring all the implications of the people he’s named after, it’s just. such a profoundly uncool name like bro. harry. ginny. spare some mercy for ur kid pls 😭😭
(also it is so funny to imagine that james and lily were once married with a kid and the vol. 2 version of them are just. siblings 💀 becomes worse when the next gen kids are characterised as carbon copies of their namesakes)
#next gen#like tell me how is fkn idk scorpius the best named kid of that gen#the entire weasley clan just.#my god#on which note#utterly fascinating that ron & hermione had fresh names#what does that tell u about them hmmmm#if we go by symbolism yet again#it says: these two are untouched by grief and loss in a tangible way. in a way that matters.#basically like ‘oh yah these two exist. they have. kids.’#it’s so funny#even percy gets a more sentimental kid name#but ofc there’s more interpretations too#eg: ron didn’t want kids saddled w the kind of legacy he was. where they constantly feel undervalued & wanting#it’s a fun angle actually now i’m attached to parent ron trying his best hmmmm#breaking generational curses and trauma hmmmmmmm#ok gonna stop now sorry anon#pen’s asks

⋆. 𐙚 ˚ Can't sleep till i feel your touch ! . . . ( 西村力 )
— pairing: 西村力 x reader — contains: uhh drunk niki idk — now playing: 一子青葉
Riki loved to come home late and drunk, despite being in high school his friend's thought it was okay to get him drunk all the time.
Granted that wasn't even a concern of yours. You just hated how he came home in the middle of the night.
Falling into wall's, breaking stuff, not considering your beauty sleep. Not to mention he was a talkative drunk so often times he'd stumble into your room and start rambling on about something dumb.
Last week it was about how annoying our English teacher is, yesterday it was about how Jake beat him in the game they were playing, and today it was about how much he hated that you liked someone else.
"Riki what are you on about" You pressed as he sat Infront of you on your bed
He was looking up at you with genuine upset in his eyes "I hate him.. he's always so touchy with you" He slurred his words
"And he's not good for you either, he's dumb and ugly and he's short too... He does know you aren't into short guys right?" He continued on about a boy from your guys' school that you had mentioned having a crush on.
"I know you hate me, but I could" He hiccupped "I could treat you so much better, i proomiseee i couuuullddd if you just gave me the chance." He laid his head on your stomach, still slurring like a sleepy child.
"I don't hate you Riki" He looked up at that, slight hope in his eyes
"Then why don't you let me love you? Hmmmmmmm? I mean I know I act all mean and bully-like but I care about you, and your so dumb that you haven't even noticed how in love with you I am."
You didn't say anything, you couldn't.
He wrapped his arms around your torso "Why didn't you tell me"
"mmmm I don't know.. I was worried you wouldn't like me back. Considering how mean I am to you" His voice was starting to get quiet, like he was falling asleep.
You looked down at him and he looked back up at you "Can I kiss you?" Your eyes widened "Please?"
You questioned it, wondered if this was just the alcohol talking but with how pleading his eyes looked, you gave in and kissed him
His lips were soft, and he kissed you like he had been waiting ages for it.
After what felt like forever you pulled away. He pouted his lips then went back to leaning his head on you, mumbling a thank you and an "I love you so much" so quietly you would've missed it if you weren't looking at him
"I love you too, now let's get you to your room, okay?"
He rumbled, not liking that idea and said he wanted to sleep with you, you were worried he would regret this all by tomorrow, but he wasn't budging so you agreed to letting him sleep in your room, as long as he changed into some pj's first.
And within minutes of him laying his head in your neck, he fell asleep. He looked so peaceful, and for a split second you couldn't think of anything but his face. You fell asleep with him, hoping he won't take any of this back tomorrow.

Redrafting The Phantom Menace
This is an informal essay/pitch meeting restructuring and changing The Phantom Menace to better utilize its characters and to make it a more compelling sequence of events.
Word Count: 5k
Art Credit: Doug Chiang
I think The Phantom Menace needs some of the biggest revisions of the prequels to set these characters up to be used better not just in the trilogy but in the film itself because not only is Obi-Wan mostly absent for all of Act II and nothing he does in that time affects the main plot on Tatooine, but Amidala’s presence doesn’t really add anything to it either. She learns a little about the culture on Tatooine and she meets Anakin and Shmi (which will be relevant in the next movie), but nothing she says or does affects the plot. Any of her protests against Qui-Gon don’t amount to anything since he’s the adult calling the shots, nothing in Act III is affected by their regard of one another, and she honestly could have just met Anakin on the ship on their return to Coruscant. Qui-Gon ends up being the main character of the movie, which I think was a mistake when Kenobi should have been the lens through which we saw the story unfold.
I don’t especially care for the slavery plot point to begin with because it doesn’t compel me as much as if Anakin and Shmi were just dirt poor. The slavery scenario feels like a way for the plot to keep Anakin and Shmi apart and for Shmi to remain destitute and it takes any real choice of the matter out of their situation. Of course she’s going to let Anakin go the second an opportunity like the one Qui-Gon’s offering falls out of the sky, who wouldn’t?
If she’s stuck in the cycle of poverty and had a choice in the matter of sending her extra set of hands away while she stays behind, that gives a little more meat to her character. Have her indebted to the Hutts or something, give her some astronomical loans she’s struggling to pay off, meaning everything they can spare just gets funneled directly into that debt so they have very little money or means to escape to a better life. What that sets up is Shmi being given the agency and genuine choice of either sending Anakin to be a Jedi because she wants him to have a better life, or keeping him there to help her work off the debt. The control chip won’t be keeping them tethered to that location and it keeps both Amidala and Qui-Gon from being complacent in leaving Shmi to be a slave.
If you wanted for Shmi and Anakin to be slaves, but wanted to solve some of the moral quandaries and give all of the characters more active roles in driving the story (and not just tell the audience “These are the circumstances, the Jedi can’t get involved with local matters, their hands are tied”) what you could have done was have Obi-Wan join Qui-Gon and Amidala on their trip instead of Jar Jar. Shmi explains the circumstances keeping them slaves, Obi-Wan can see Qui-Gon leaning towards doing something to help them, but because he’s more inclined towards following the rules than Qui-Gon is, Kenobi tells them honestly that they don’t have enough people to fight for the freedom of the slaves, and they’re already short on funds and already on a mission trying to save people on Naboo.
Kenobi’s also the one to also bring up a logical part of the Jedi Code: instead of saying they can’t interfere with local politics, he points out an obvious rule they would have in saying “The Jedi aren’t allowed to buy slaves either,” because yeah obviously the Jedi wouldn’t be allowed to do that. Even if that’s the easiest way to free somebody, the Jedi can’t do anything that would compromise other people’s faith in them, because yeah maybe you freed that person, but now that person either has to remain on the planet where that practice still exists and they could easily end up there again once you leave, OR you as the Jedi have to take them with you and hmmmmmmm seems pretty suspicious if you ask me, sounds like you just bought yourself your own slave.
Even dropping that person on a safe planet isn’t a great option because they would likely have no understanding of or foundation on that planet, and they especially wouldn’t have a support network of any kind. How much money, time, and resources do you have to devote to setting them up for success, now that you’ve gotten them out of a life of bondage? Completely uprooting yourself and starting from nothing in a completely new country alone is bad enough— Imagine an entirely separate planet. The alternative is obviously keeping that person with you and placing them under your own care and protection, but that’s exactly what makes you look like you bought a person to begin with and now we’re back to square one.
But, Amidala is there, and she’s a queen. She would likely have oodles of money at her disposal. Ignore the whole “Republic credits don’t spend out here” and say SHE offers to buy both Anakin and Shmi’s freedom, extending the offer by saying Anakin could train at the temple and Shmi could become a ladies maid or a consultant to the queen on Outer Rim territories, something Amidala even says she’s not familiar with. Both of them would be taken care of, Shmi would have a support network and a means of income and the freedom to leave at any time if she wished, nothing wrong with that.
In the end, however it happens, Shmi could be freed from being a slave (since that happens between this movie and Attack of the Clones anyway), but she makes the choice for herself to decline Amidala’s offer. Tatooine, though a harsh planet, is still her home and all she’s ever known. Being taken out of that environment and thrust into one of courtly nobility isn’t one a lot of people would be able to adapt to. Amidala finds a way to maintain communication so if there’s ever any trouble, Shmi has a contact who cares about her wellbeing, and she chooses for herself to remain behind and let Anakin go because that’s what is best for him. The characters are the ones making choices with their own objectives and reasonable enough justification for what they do instead of the circumstances moving them around.
There’s plenty of other ways the story would change by giving them those more active roles and choices. Obi-Wan and Anakin and Qui-Gon would all obviously have more of a relationship to build off of if they’re all there together, which will make Qui-Gon’s death more meaningful for the both of them and will introduce history that will carry over into Attack of the Clones whenever Anakin thinks Shmi might be in trouble. Amidala would have a more grounded interest and stronger connection to Shmi herself, and Anakin’s frustration with Obi-Wan concerning the rule about one’s personal attachments creates more effective interpersonal conflict when Anakin argues that she’s in danger. “Master, if you had the chance to prevent Qui-Gon’s death— If you’d known ahead of time that it would happen— Wouldn’t you have done whatever you could to stop it?”
If you cut down Act I enough (because you don’t really need the entire underwater sequence, Jar Jar was in exile up on land and you could have just had him lead them to the palace, which would have given us the chance to see the invasion affecting the citizens and common folk), Tatooine could have been the majority of Act I with the race being the climax. Make the Separatists more of an enemy force that’s actually intimidating and isn’t just mad about taxation of trade routes. Say they’ve been doing their own thing independent of the Republic for some time and don’t care about the legality of what they’re doing and have the Jedi discover the droid armies and the plot to take over Naboo because it’s a pacifist planet rich in whatever resources the Separatists want to take for themselves.
Cut out the Gungans and the underwater sequence and have whoever Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan meet on land take them to the Theed palace as a navigator directly. I don’t care for Jar Jar’s character and he doesn’t add anything to the film besides (weak) comic relief and a connection to the Gungan army at the end, which can easily be altered if you give Ahmed Best a better character just as himself, leading the Jedi through the forest to Theed. On the way there we see the recent havoc wreaked by the droid army and the effects the invasion is having on the people of Naboo, making the war feel a lot more real and immediate. Make Best’s people like the people of Rohan in Lord of the Rings who have survived as independent nomads and mounted woodland riders for centuries, not given as much support by the city-states and the capital but otherwise left to their own devices (setting them up to become the main cavalry/fighters at the end). They don’t have to be enemies of Theed, but they're not on great terms. They're the first people we see affected by the war, the destruction a lot more down to earth, showing us the severity of the Separatist’s actions and giving us a legitimate sense of danger and despair.
The three of them make it to Theed and manage to save the queen and her entourage. Amidala is introduced desperately trying to make contact with Palpatine in the Senate, the circumstances conveyed much more urgently than before, and she tells the Jedi that she’d been trying to contact them before the invasion even started. In the midst of the fighting Amidala makes a pointed effort to save Best’s character, the two of them making a connection as they move and showing both him and the audience that the queen does care about what happens to people who live beyond the city and palace walls. Qui-Gon convinces Amidala that they need to get her to Coruscant to plead their case on behalf of her people to the Senate. Amidala pleads for Best’s character to call upon the peoples living in the woods and to tell them that the capital city has been invaded and taken over too but that help is on the way. Amidala may be a pacifist, but this invasion shows her that her ideology won’t save her people because it doesn’t matter to the invaders whether you’ve done anything to “deserve” that oppression or not. Those who don’t live by the sword can still die by them.
If the Senate is too far removed from their corner of the galaxy to see that innocent people are being slaughtered and that the Separatists have waged a war that has isolated Naboo by severing their communications network, then she’s going to plead their case by taking it directly to Coruscant herself. Who’s to say theirs is the first planet the Separatists have done this to? What other occupations might they be unaware of?
The ship is still damaged upon their escape, forcing them to make an emergency landing on Tatooine. Amidala has some money with her, but her accounts have been frozen by the Separatists and she won’t be able to acquire more unless they manage to save Naboo and she’s restored as queen. The Jedi also have some money with them, but even together it’s not enough to buy the hyperdrive piece.
In this timeline we go with Kenobi being present with Qui-Gon and Padmé (still disguising herself as a handmaiden, Qui-Gon having a hunch as to who she is though Kenobi doesn’t know) and we cut out Watto and change the slavery circumstances to the Skywalkers being impoverished and indebted instead. City boy Kenobi, unfamiliar with the terrain or locals, accidentally bumps into whoever it is who tries to start a fight and Anakin jumps in and mediates for them. Qui-Gon thanks him and Anakin points out there’s a storm coming and takes them all back to his and his mom’s place, despite Kenobi’s protests that the mission takes precedence and the ‘queen’ has only her personal guard at the moment, they really should be finding the parts and getting back to the ship.
Over dinner the group discusses their prospects. Anakin was already planning to race in the Boonta Eve Classic to put the prize money towards finally paying off his mother’s debt. He and Shmi exchange a look, and he decides he wants to help them out of the goodness of his heart or whatever and in exchange for part of the money, Qui-Gon also offers him the chance to become a Jedi because he senses there’s something different about this kid. Kenobi protests, citing the fact the boy’s too old and they don’t have a solid reason to think he’s sensitive to the Force (regardless of what Shmi tells them about the circumstances of his birth). Have him be the skeptic providing the opinion the council would give, giving the conflict that will spur conversation between himself and Qui-Gon in order to provide exposition for the audience and prompt tension between himself and Anakin that’ll evolve as their relationship and reliance on one another in this movie progresses.
Now.
The consequence of Kenobi being present for all of this is that his and Anakin’s and Qui-Gon’s relationships are given focus and development, but it also means the ship is left without a Jedi guard.
Now let’s say Darth Maul finds the ship sooner while the main characters are occupied: Maul kidnaps Sabé, kills the rest of the guard, destroys the ship, and then he leaves. Qui-Gon, Kenobi, and Padmé hear what happens from R2, the only one who survives. Cut out whatever extraneous Watto junk happens and have this be what ups the stakes for the race because now they end up needing all of the winnings to buy a whole ship, not just to get a part. Amidala does the whole handmaiden reveal here and they realize that buys them a little time since Sabé signing the treaty will mean nothing when it comes out that she wasn’t actually the queen, but that will only be a possibility if they can provide Coruscant with further evidence of the Separatists’ plot and subjugation of the people.
Kenobi by now has figured out that the disturbance he’s been feeling in the force must have been the dark warrior who tracked their ship and stole the ‘queen,’ R2’s security footage getting them a good look of Maul. Kenobi and Qui-Gon confer and realize that if this guy is a Sith Lord, they HAVE to get back to Naboo to stop him at any cost. If he’s been the real power behind the Separatists this whole time, then losing Naboo to their control must be part of a larger scheme that will lead the Republic to war.
Now it comes back down to Anakin and Shmi. Either Anakin doesn’t want to give them the rest of the money, having wanted to provide for his mom too, and Shmi has to reassure him that she’ll be fine before he agrees to still participate in the race and give them the money, or Anakin’s unaware of the change in circumstances at all and Shmi’s the one to say they can have all of the winnings provided Qui-Gon gives her his word that Anakin will be guaranteed a better life being trained as a Jedi. Either way, Shmi’s the one in control of her decision to let Anakin go while she chooses to remain behind. Despite Amidala’s offer for Shmi to just come with them as part of her court or entourage, Shmi declines, knowing Anakin needs a clean break in order to dedicate himself to this new life and that her place was still there on Tatooine, and the Skywalkers are able to part ways with Anakin still missing his mom.
During the whole Tatooine sequence Kenobi has his doubts about Anakin, but during the race we see Anakin finally do some incredible feat that defies all logic, bringing down a rockslide to his advantage or controlling a dust storm or standing out on the bow of his speeder holding the now-damaged, motley assembly together with the invisible hold of the Force itself as he crosses the finish line. There needs to be a clear show of something unexplainable for both the audience and the other characters to see (Kenobi especially) that convinces us this kid has an exceptional command over the Force even untrained, not just that he’s a child prodigy when it comes to racing and mechanical ingenuity. Kenobi needs to be convinced that taking the kid is a good idea here because it provides the basis for their relationship moving forward and it gives ample reason for Anakin to be included in all of the further peril without any of the responsible characters logically being worried for his safety. (As it is in the movies, we never actually see Anakin do enough to warrant being considered “the Chosen One” since nothing he does isn’t something other trained experts of that skill could feasibly do. He needs to be visibly, uniquely powerful even for a Force-user.)
After the race they have to scramble to get transportation and head back to Naboo. Keep their communications interrupted so they can’t contact the Jedi council back on Coruscant to tell them about the invasion, the handmaiden switch, OR Anakin possibly being the Chosen One.
In this interim we see Maul on his ship discussing his success with Sidious over a holocall, along with the next steps of the plan. Sabé is locked in a holding cell, unbeknownst to Maul acting as a spy and gathering information, reading his lips and figuring out what conversation is being had though she can’t hear the voice of the person in the hood (because logically she’d be able to deduce that it’s Palpatine on the other end of the call). It’s obvious this mysterious agent doesn’t know she’s one of the handmaidens because otherwise she suspects she’d be dead, and it’s clear they need ‘the queen’ alive for something. Depending on how you want to play the scene and the characters, she could either remain stoically silent after he’s done talking to Sidious, taking everything in and observing serenely while environmental storytelling gives us the clues and info she’s picking up on, or Maul could monologue/antagonize her, or she could try to negotiate with him under the guise of the queen, subtly trying to figure out his motives, or she could just outright question him, reasoning that he’s not going to do anything to her since she’s needed alive (to which Maul could refuse to give up anything and instead easily threaten her once he decides she’s gotten too comfortable, maybe even giving us some visual foreshadowing/parallels to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith by using the Force to hold her by the throat and remind her that she need only arrive to Naboo alive, not unscathed.).
Have the Theed city battle happen as Act II, show more of the Separatists’ effect on the people they’re subjugating, and have Anakin involved on the ground instead of in the gunship. He ends up seeing/being involved in the Duel of the Fates, exhibiting an impressive display of the Force and throwing up a force field that blocks what would have been a fatal hit from Maul against the two Jedi. Anakin uses the Force to fling Darth Maul back, though it’s not enough to get him off his feet. Maul’s distracted for just a moment as his boots gain traction and he skids to a halt, locking eyes with the kid before he uses the Force to throw Anakin into the path of danger as Qui-Gon approaches. Obi-Wan diverts course to save Anakin and gets him out of the way, telling him to stay back as Maul continues to fight Qui-Gon. Anakin ends up separated when Obi-Wan jams the control for the force field corridor, cutting him off from the fight as Kenobi and Qui-Gon back Maul towards the reactor shaft together.
Anakin surveys the hangar and starts to climb up to the access catwalks overhead, trying to get to the Jedi to help, but as he finally reaches a position overlooking the room he realizes he’s too late. Darth Maul hits Qui-Gon and stabs him through the chest as Kenobi screams. This time however, Kenobi isn’t fast enough in the aftermath to do anything beyond wounding Maul, and when Maul is nearly hit by Anakin doing the equivalent of throwing a ship at him, he escapes.
Kenobi’s and Anakin’s shared story with Qui-Gon comes to a close as Qui-Gon dies and Kenobi tells Anakin he’ll apprentice him instead, and that he has strong evidence for the council that Anakin is the Chosen One. Cut back to Sabé relaying to Amidala through covert means that the dark warrior isn’t acting alone; he’s taking orders from somebody he calls Master, and even if he is killed, it’s likely he’s not the only one directing the war from the shadows. Have the Separatists win the battle and Naboo seemingly come under their control, the treaty signed by Sabé (the Separatists still unaware she’s a decoy).
Maul makes a break for it to head back to Coruscant, for the moment incapacitated and in no condition to fight Kenobi and Anakin together. Kenobi may be alive, but Maul’s mission to make sure the Separatists took Naboo and that the queen signed the treaty is complete, and he tells Sidious over a holocall that there’s a child with Kenobi who is strong in the Force and could be a threat to them…. Unless he can be turned to the dark side.
Kenobi and Anakin sneak around and meet up with Amidala and her remaining entourage and tell her that she has to come back to Coruscant with them because only her presence there while Sabé remains behind (never leaving the Separatists’ watch) will be what shows the Senate that the treaty is void. They scheme to go back to Coruscant with the still-undiscovered true queen; Amidala uses the handmaidens to disperse the message and ready an ambush with the help of Ahmed Best’s character and countrymen, telling those who remain behind not to fight back yet but to comply with the Separatists until she can provide the Senate with the proof of the truth.
The three of them with Amidala’s retinue return in stealth to Coruscant. Keep Amidala from telling Palpatine anything because maybe he was just as complacent as the rest of the senators who didn’t believe her when she voiced concerns of the Separatists setting up an invasion of the planet prior to the movie. Kenobi enlists the help of the council members, telling them what truly happened and that a Sith is behind the Separatists’ machinations, and they also provide video footage of the carnage they saw levied against the people of Theed. The council prompts Senator Organa to bring up the Naboo treaty during the Senate session. The Senate pulls up a holovid conference call with the Separatists and remaining Naboo politicians, Sabé among them, the Separatists showing their “proof” of being able to reach a “peaceful accord.”
And THEN Padmé Amidala steps forward in the Senate to reveal her true identity and the plot the Separatists had the whole time forcing who they thought was the queen to sign the treaty under extreme duress while their people died in the streets and countryside. There’s a collective gasp as her witnesses, including Obi-Wan, come forward with evidence to the veracity of that statement, and the Senate erupts in an uproar as the Separatists flounder on the call, having been caught in the act in front of an audience of thousands.
The holocall is cut short as we the audience see the handmaidens, the remaining guards, and Ahmed Best’s character and his people back on Naboo spring the ambush on the Separatists in the palace, and we see the tide change as the people of Naboo fight back together. Valorum tries to keep order but the longer he goes without taking decisive action the worse he starts to look, and Palpatine quickly steps in to propose a vote of no confidence against him— If Valorum isn’t willing to send arms and support to a pacifist planet clearly under military attack right now, what’s to say he’ll ever do it for anybody else there among them? At what point is it considered an act of war against the Republic, if not now? The people of the Senate begin to concur and Republic forces quickly rally support for Naboo, senators from neighboring planets ordering their fleets to converge on Naboo to lend aid and route the fleeing Separatists as an emergency meeting is called to force Chancellor Valorum to step down.
(Palpatine meanwhile is absolutely seething behind his fake shock and horror, and as soon as he’s able to reconvene out of the Senate chamber he comms Darth Maul like “YOU ABSOLUTE #!$%*&@ IDIOT YOU GOT THE WRONG GIRL”)
Maul’s coming to several conclusions at once with a metric ton of dread flash-fried by anger and they both know they can’t do anything to Amidala OR the politicians back home on Naboo while all eyes are turned that way, BUT Maul realizes that this was all Kenobi’s fault and— probably knowing Palpatine's going to wring his neck if he ever gets his hands on him— he goes rogue in order to get his revenge against Kenobi and try to preserve his standing with his master. The climax of Act III comes down to a much more publicly visible and hard-hitting fight between Darth Maul and Kenobi before Anakin (who’s been with Obi-Wan the whole time and was supposed to be in hiding) uses the Force again to shield Obi-Wan right as it looks like Darth Maul is about to strike the killing blow. Maul’s saber bounces off the shield and in shock he turns to see Anakin, who he recognizes as the kid from the Theed palace who thwarted him then too. Obi-Wan shouts “No!” as Maul charges, and Anakin scrambles away and throws up a shield in front of himself that Maul strikes once, twice, a third time before it shatters, each side of the Force colliding, causing an explosive blast that takes out half of the tower floor with it and renders Anakin unconscious.
Just as Maul rears back to kill Anakin, his saber meets that of Obi-Wan’s, and Obi-Wan pushes him back, determined and revitalized.
The fight ends dramatically on top of one of the skywalks of Coruscant, Jedi and Sith locked in battle as word quickly starts to travel and people start racing up to the tower. Obi-Wan succeeds in cutting Maul’s saber apart before ultimately stabbing him just as Maul had done to Qui-Gon, sending him off the overbridge to his death.
Naboo is shown winning against the invasion thanks to help from the Republic, and the people of Theed and the surrounding forests are saved. Ahmed Best’s character and Sabé are both hailed as victors, the two of them standing united with their people together after a successful ambush and reclamation of Naboo. Kenobi’s a veritable hero, receiving praise from both politicians and Jedi for discovering and eliminating the Sith. The Jedi council manages to frame Maul’s presence as Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan “mission” this whole time, and Kenobi’s valor and strategy award him the rank of Knight. The council is still wary of Anakin, but he’s been shown to have had a surprising awareness and command of the Force, and if he’s capable of that without training, they can’t let him continue to live as a civilian with that amount of power unchecked, agreeing that the boy needs supervision, guidance, and accountability. It doesn’t help that Obi-Wan’s determined to keep Anakin as his Padawan now, especially since training him was Qui-Gon’s dying wish.
Sidious manages to frame Maul for the loss of Naboo to the Separatists, telling them that he has been “dealt with.” Though Darth Maul is defeated and the public’s faith in the Jedi remains intact, the Jedi council is deeply troubled by the apparent return of the Sith, and they confer with Kenobi, Anakin, Sabé and Amidala (who are unfortunately accompanied by Senator Palpatine) about what knowledge they have, knowing they need to keep word of a potential second Sith under wraps for the public’s well-being and peace of mind. The fact the Separatists have been revealed to have massive covert operations taking over smaller planets with the aid of droid armies for a while now is shocking enough as it is; they can’t afford widespread panic over the possibility of this being orchestrated by a Sith, let alone more than one.
The result of those decisions, as well as the very public fight Kenobi had with Maul, means that the Jedi are now inextricably bound to serve in the war, still unsure of how they couldn’t have sensed the Sith to begin with, and it sets up Kenobi to wonder if perhaps the Jedi involvement in the war and their deaths at the end of it are his fault for being too rash and ready to fight. It’ll drive his character to mature and become more of a negotiator, and try to keep Anakin from choosing to act without thinking moving forward. Though both Kenobi and Amidala have saved people in this movie, it was done through actions that forced them to compromise their anti-war ideologies, and those irreversible actions will directly lead people who were once pacifists and protectors into war.
That plotline forces the characters together more organically and still covers the same amount of ground and achieves the same result, but utilizes the characters better and creates more of a sense of urgency than before. The consequence of these changes is that Palpatine will later ascend as Supreme Chancellor with sympathy from a majority of the Senate, meaning the Grand Army of the Republic is formed between this movie and the next, setting up Attack of the Clones to be happening in the midst of the war. Sidious has contingency plans upon contingency plans; he still has Count Dooku in his back pocket, still has the Separatists on his side, and now he has his sights set on the young prodigy from Tatooine who seems verrrrrryy interesting to him. He can misdirect the Jedi’s suspicions of Sith towards Dooku and General Grievous, should they end up being discovered, still keeping all eyes off of himself. Palpatine also has a much stronger motivation to assassinate Amidala after this since she’s proven to be more capable than he realized and isn’t just a political pawn he can manipulate. She’s unpredictable, and she needs to be eliminated.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
Hmmmmmmm where to even start, I love these past few scenes with the og Finch fam cos I think it does a really good job of encapsulating their family dynamics..
We already know that Oscar's pissed off with Noah for what he said but I don't think we can really blame him for thinking Oscar might just be like meh if something happened to Sid. It's no secret they don't have the best relationship-.. not to say they don't love each other cos they do, a LOT, but I think you can love and admire someone and still find it really hard to get along or be around them for too long.
I think what's REALLY interesting here though, is how Oscar's always felt second best to Noah (aka Golden Boy) but in reality, it's actually been Noah in the backseat all along.
I rewatched Breaking Bad recently and there's a scene where Jesse says something to his brother about him being the favourite cos he's well behaved and does well in school and wins trophies etc etc. but his brother's just like ?? are you kidding? you're all they talk about! It made me think about Oscar/Noah and how similar it is with them.
Almost since the moment he arrived, everything was always about Oscar. He's the one they worried and argued over, the one who took up more of their time and attention, the one who needed them the most, yet it still wasn't enough.
Sid's always been brash and a tough love type of person and in terms of the type of mother she was/is, probably not what Oscar needed. I don't think it's either of their faults, or that either particularly did anything wrong, it's just the way they are. Alton's always been inert too, which doesn't help. He's rubbish in an emergency, never makes any decisions until it's too late, never steps in when he should-.. and on the rare occasion he does, he'll probably go about it in the wrong way. Noah's the placatory one on the side-lines, trying to pick everything up once it's fallen apart; except he's clumsy with it and he's not very good at reading the room or putting himself in other people's shoes so his "help" often feels insincere and judgemental and that doesn't help either.
Sure, Noah's closer to his parents and spends WAY more time with them, he's barely ever fallen out with them and he's never felt neglected by them/resented Oscar or anything but I still think he's undeniably aware that he's not the favourite Oscar claims he is. He was just easy in comparison. I think Oscar's somewhat aware of it though, he briefly mentions it in this scene, saying; "They didn’t prefer you. You just weren’t a little cunt like me." Although.. he kinda overlooks this fact most of the time, probably because of his bitterness toward feeling like a misfit in his own family and general penchant for ruminating on the past.
Sid/Alton were just never equipped to deal with a kid like Oscar. He needed patience, empathy, trust and guidance but he didn't get any of that-.. like they gave up on him before he even knew what that meant. As guilty as it makes him feel, he'd be relieved if Sidney wasn't around cos he'd have no one to prove anything to anymore-.. like how Wyatt felt free when his father died!! A strong comparison maybe but the same undercurrent of never feeling worthy is there, y'know? Even if the relationship is much, much different.
It's a shame really, but no matter how much Oscar grows as a person, his family still kinda see him the same way that they used to; the unstable and impulsive one. It's like they're blind to all the nuances of his personality and sometimes I just wanna shake em like ahhhhhsdkjskdjk.. Oscar could do 9 good things and 1 bad and you can guaranteeee they'd focus on the bad :/ (side note: this is probably the main reason Robin is sorta like eh toward them all as well - more so than the other kiddos - cos he can sense all this and it pisses him off almost as much as it does me fkjfjk)
I don't know, this family is SO interesting to me.. like I don't think any of them are wrong for how they are or how they act with one another but they're so inherently mismatched that they just don't work. They've never been much of a functional family unit if you include Oscar, however cute they can be sometimes, and they probably never will be. That's just the way it is...
#fib#fib extras#oscar#sidney#alton#noah#oooooooo they so interestingggg#they all mean well and they're all -mostly- lovely in their own ways#but BOY are there a bunch of issues under the surface#sometimes it's fun to imagine how mundane and ordinary their lives would be if they hadn't had oscar#but perish the thought 😱#and we've never rlly gone into it cos we never rlly do anything from sidney's pov but liiiike#let's not even open the can of worms that is sid's feelings of inadequacy as a mother because of oscar ok cos.... yikes#like it was always alton that wanted kids not her#and after noah she was like okay maybe being a mom is ok actually.. easy even!?#ahaaha.. NO#oscar bursts onto the scene like WRONG-O#😅

Delulu time of the day is back!! The discussion topic is about our infamous Hyde! LOL
I've already said here that I really think there's something in the air about the Hyde -I don't know if it's the correct word but there you go- likes Wednesday somehow. There are some fragments that made me realize that and then I'm going to share. BUT ONCE AGAIN: THIS IS A THEORY!!!!!!! MY OPINION AND ANALYSIS THROUGHOUT THE SHOW.
I guess up to the episode 3, Tyler didn't remember or couldn't handle the Hyde properly. So my guesses are based until episode 3 but I'll use some examples from other episodes.
1- The hyde SAVED Wednesday from the attack of Rowan. Tyler didn't even remember what had happened the night before. He was in the woods stalking his father to check things up or hide eventual proofs from the monster's attack. SO that confirms that Laurel didn't order him to kill Rowan. He made Wednesday tell him exatcly what happenned and he looked surprised. I don't believe he was lying even though he was nervous. So the Hyde acted instinctively in order to protect Wednesday? Why? Once Tyler didn't know who Wednesday was for Laurel's plan.
2- Then Wednesday went to an unsafe place, according to Tyler, and found a man who threatened her. She had a vision and she thought it was the man, BUT NO!!!! The hyde was stalking her and HE DIDN'T ATTACK HER!! in fact he has a frightened and soft stare ? The monster went there to check if she was okay? hmmmmmmm He probably saw her laid on the floor and waited to her wake up to leave? At night, THE SAME MAN WHO THREATENED WEDNESDAY was the his victim. The monster killed another man who threatened Wednesday. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM And Tyler was clever enough to use this man to collect a body part for Laurel so she won't suspect anything about Wednesday.
3 -I keep telling you this BUT I DO BELIEVE that line ' I knew there was a reason I liked you' was said by the Hyde and not Tyler. If we analyse better, we can see when Wednesday confronted him about Xavier's assault, he got pissed and maybe that triggered the Hyde in order to manipulate the situation one more time. I mean Tyler has anger issues and it benefits the Hyde emergence. When he sits, he is already different! His stare is deep and dark. He also has seductive stare! I'm sorry but Tyler has puppy eye! I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE! LOL and the most important: his voice was snarky and husky. He has a low tone. It was not Tyler!!! (There will be a video for you to see what I'm talking about).
4 - THE DATE! Ok, since episode 4, the Hyde was more present. At the beginning of their perfect date, Tyler was there. BUT when he decided to confess his feelings and they had that small banter, it was not Tyler. THE EYES WERE DIFFERENT! Whenever the Hyde is out, Tyler has a deep and dark stare. I don't how to explain exactly, but there is a sort of dark fog in his eyes. I know that Tyler wanted to kiss Wednesday, but why does the Hyde have to come out as well? Maybe Tyler needed some confidence from the Hyde to try something else with Wednesday? Probably! And maybe Wednesday wanted to kiss him because she saw or/and felt something different through the darkness of his eyes? Definitely! And he only shifted to Tyler again when they were interrupted by his father!!! So yes, the Hyde wanted to kiss her as well.
5- With the help of my friend @weylerforever, we found out that in the scene of 'Kind of a déjà vu thing we got going on, huh?' we have the same voice and stare from episode 4. THE SAME! Even the shadow on his face is the same! (check the video below).
Well, what I'm trying to say that MAYBE, IN MY OPINION, MY PERSONAL BELIEF, is that the Hyde KNEW since the beginning about their connection. THAT explains why he protected and saved Wednesday from Rowan and never attacked when he had the opportunity (the original Pilgrim House). I mean she was a potential prey to him when he attacked Rowan. It would have had more sense if he had attacked her than had saved her. BUT HE CHOSE TO PROTECT HER ?? WHY?? And no, it was not because of Laurel's plan because he didn't know about it! He was about to head her to the train station some minutes ago. He would have helped her to escape for sure.
I'm not talking about a romantic connection here because I don't want to be biased LOL I'm serious! I don't want to lead to this discussion because I don't even know if the Hyde might have good feelings. I believe that maybe the Hyde sees her as a potential Master!!!???? Because I don't know how to explain that behaviour as well.
Well the only person (?) who can answer this question is the Hyde himself. And I hope we had scenes with him on S2.
The chances of my theory are correct are 0, but it's been on my mind for a while. I need to get it off my chest! So tell me, Cockroaches.... Am I delulu and I need some break from my Weyler obssession? Or does it make sense to you?

Spicy Asks: The Sequel is here. I'm so, so sorry.
Oh he's a very passive guy, he likes being manhandled around and not having to do much of the work (a bit of a pillow princess one might say). As far as fetishes go, he does have fantasies about group sex and of being roughed up, but I think if put in a situation where he could practice it in a controlled environment he'd be like "EHHHH nevermind actually" and go home very quickly LOL
DU drow would have 100% banged Lae'zel if he hadn't killed her. He couldn't stand her personality but they would have gotten on like two peas in a pod in the sack.
He does find Shadowheart very pretty, but they struck up a friendship so quickly that I don't think he could see her in that way 🤷 but that's still a smash, technically speaking.
Jaheira. Ohhhh Jaheira. As far as general dynamics go she would have been the best choice after Astarion, probably - though there is no way in hell or high heavens that she would have ever let him touch her LOL regardless, DU drow finds her looks and personality to be very attractive.
He's pretty much utterly indifferent to anyone else. Wyll is too idealistic, Gale is Gale, Karlach isn't his type, Halsin gets on his nerves - oh, he WOULD have banged Mizora if he hadn't been heads over heels for Astarion by that point.
The man just likes his femmes I guess LOL
HMMMMMMM yes, but since it's not really a porn fic expect any scenes like that to be in line with what we've had so far, where there's more of a focus on developing character dynamics rather than gratuitousness (I hope I've gotten that across, at least LOL).
LOL, It's ok, it's a ridiculous not-name and I'm so sorry for all the people I have made confused and will continue to confuse because of it.
As for your question, definitely not! I personally like big-bottom/smaller-top scenarios so that's why I focus on it, and I do think character-wise those are the roles they fall into most naturally - but they switch around every so often when the mood strikes and it isn't really a big deal.
Oh are you kidding me? The guy LOVES being cared after in an intimate setting. Being doted on, groomed, checked up on, having his hair played with and clothes fixed up - he doesn't express it outwardly much, but these are all things that make his murderous little heart skip a beat. He was the same way pre-tadpole but it was mostly servants and Sceleritas doing it, so he didn't get much out of the exchange; and Orin didn't entertain this at all, or, if she ever did, it was very, very, very rarely and really just a crumb of intimate affection that he most likely misread anyways.
I'm not sure what to say to this one LOL the penis is full of blood already man I don't think a vampire needs to make it any more tempting to themselves to chomp down.
I wrote a thing about that not too long ago :D ! The answer is complicated but, mostly yes.
Alright you joke, but, if you don't think DU drow hasn't spent a little too long lingering over Astarion's feet and ankles then I got amazing news for you.
I touched on what they generally like on the previous edition of Wine Fuelled Spicy Asks, but as for what they like to do as a couple, it's probably a lot of body worship and some playful denial on both ends. Du drow thinks Astarion is the most elegant and limber thing he's ever seen (and he loves how he smells), and Astarion thinks DU drow's body is an expertly put together murder machine. They have a great time being mutually enamored with each other's (and their own) appearances.
I think they also venture into some blood-play and vapid threats of violence in the future, as a treat, but takes a while for them to trust themselves and each other enough to indulge in that kind of thing.
Needs a little direction, plus you gotta learn to enjoy a bit of teeth and a very slobbery time - also I think he distracts easily, It's nice to have a man who's willing to venture the whole perimeter with his mouth but sometimes you do just want him to stay on the prick. But generally speaking - yes, DU drow gives good head. Fun head, even!
What do you people want from me? Do you want schematics? Diagrams? Do you want me to compare their holes to famous people holes? Do you want me to take out my measuring tape and give you numbers, tell you which kind of produce each of them can fit in there???
One is pink, the other one is brown. One of them just looks normal and the other looks and feels a little like it been around the block a few times. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW.

hmmmmmmm i’m real fucking tired of jew haters lying abt me!
let's break this down, shall we?
white trans mascs like spacelazarwolf have no issue calling indigenous people "bone chillingly disturbing" for disagreeing with them.
actually i called what you said antisemitic, because it was. i called what i've witnessed from gentiles in general bone-chillingly disturbing and cruel, and that i've witnessed so much ignorance, hostility, and bloodlust from gentiles. because i keep seeing posts celebrating the massacre that happened on the 7th, and i keep getting anons that tell me "hitler missed one", "the world would be better off without your ilk", "we should have gotten rid of you all ages ago", "die zionists rats *nose emoji*", and a lot of very graphic descriptions of how they would like to rape and kill me. one user, blatantly on their blog, openly said that someone should kill me, and someone said they knew where i lived and could make that happen. that's not disagreeing with me. that is bloodlust.
they pretend to care about racism when trans women engage in it, but have zero issue jumping right to demonic stereotypes about indigenous people who dare to point out that their support of israel is supporting genocide.
hey asshole. I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT YOU.
also. I HAVE BEEN OPEN ABOUT MY CRITICISM OF ISRAEL, MY REFUSAL TO SUPPORT IT AS A STATE, AND MY BELIEF THAT WHAT THEY'RE DOING IS GENOCIDE. YOU FUCKING IDIOT.
literally just blatantly lying about a jew's opinion on israel so you can harass and demonize them is, i hate to tell you, antisemitic.
these so called "anti-semitic rants" were me saying jewish people can survive without israel and do not need to colonize or genocide another group of people to survive.
let's give some of the highlights of your posts:
"while you're here hand-wringing about the safety of israelis and spreading the white supremacist lie that they must be in israel to be safe, israel secured its continued existence by just now murdering 500+ parients and doctors under the excuse of 'well hamas is violent and is hiding in there"
'handwringing' do you mean mourning the deaths of peace activists and children? also if you've read literally any of my other posts on the matter, you know i literally talk about how zionists institutions and leadership use jewish safety and antisemitism in the diaspora to bolster support for a jewish state. pointing this out isn't agreeing with it when you do it, why is it when i do it? what could the difference possibly be??
also, there has been no confirmation on who caused the hospital bombing. there are many reports that it was a misfire by one of the groups in gaza, and those are still being investigated. regardless of who fired it, it's still a tragedy. it's still hundreds of innocent lives lost. and it does not change the fact that the lives lost on the 7th were also a tragedy. using this devastating loss of palestinian life as a bludgeon against a diaspora jew for having the audacity to mourn dead jews is disgusting.
"[you] only bring up jewish people of color to argue that israel is actually not a racist project because israel is the only thing stopping jewish people from being exterminated."
literally just lying.
"jewish people in israel are behaving as and acting as white supremacist colonizers of color"
thanks for literally just outright saying that you think the problem is jews, not the state of israel.
"colonizers globally are constantly killing kids"
and therefore the israeli children who died don't matter? are you expecting jewish people to choose between their nieces and nephews and innocent palestinian children who are killed in gaza?
"[spacelazarwolf has] ranted and raved that without israel existing, the jewish people would be genocided. he's appropriated the struggle of indigenous and black people abroad to cry that jewish people aren't welcome in countries like the us, despite living in the us and benefiting from his whiteness and the oppression of indigenous and black people as many other white jewish people do"
i think you've made it pretty clear you're totally fine lying about what i've actually said regarding israel, but the idea that jews are "appropriating the struggle of indigenous and black people abroad" when we talk about experiencing antisemitism in the countries we live in is so???????????? also you make it really clear in this snippet that your issue isn't with israel but with jews in general.
"white jewish people...have been able to exist in relative safety for decades in european countries"
are you actually fucking insane.
"israel's existence has made things more dangerous for jewish people in the middle east and north africa because these are areas that HISTORICALLY had co-existence between religious groups"
nice historical revisionism! swana was safer than christian countries for sure, but it's SO clear to me that you know absolutely nothing about the history of the jews of swana.
"he and israel supporters like him are constantly distracting from the war crimes and terrorism ISRAEL IS COMMITTING by handwringing perpetually about 'but violence is bad and hamas is bad for being violent, the only good palestinians are the ones that are quiet and don't fight back against us when we kill their kids"
sorry, who's "we"? are diaspora jews killing kids? or do you just equate every single jew in the diaspora to israel? also, yet more blatantly lying and claiming i support israel when i repeatedly have stated i haven't! but it's much more convenient to claim i have, because then you can say that i kill kids!
there's a bunch of other times you repeat the lie that i support israel and "advocate for the continued existence of a settler colonizer state and lying and claiming it's the only way for jewish people to be safe" but i won't include all of those bc this post would be VERY long.
"israel supporters are really out here arguing that palestinians need to hold hands with their genociders and forgive them and find peace - completely ignoring that for centuries there was peace between religious groups in the region and israel destroyed it"
goyim being embarrassingly ignorant of jewish history outside of a warped view of the holocaust? i am shocked!
"the supposed civilians attacked turned out to be iof soldiers so yeah actually it's fucked for you to say. they shouldn't attack people who colonize and massacre palestinian people for their day job"
blatantly supporting the massacre of 1,300 israelis, including children.
"all they can do is fight back or die, while israelis grab their passport and fly back to the us or some other european country and wait for israel to finish their genocide so they can go back"
feel like i don't need to explain why. this is conspiracy theory levels of antisemitic.
"the crying and bellyaching that if the jewish people don't have israel, they'll have to go back to countries that are hostile to them is not one i have sympathy for"
yeah we know you don't have sympathy for jews, that's very clear.
"jewish people, black people, and indigenous people all still live there and survive and fight back and thrive in solidarity together. and they DON'T participate in genocide against other groups of people"
yet again making the blatant assertion that it is JEWS who are committing genocide, and not the israeli government. also let's not pretend that. there's always been perfect solidarity between our communities. jews have not always been the best allies to indigenous people and black people, and vice versa.
"there are other places to turn to if you had any interest in NOT participating in western hegemonic white supremacy. but instead of staying and fighting and existing and thriving with other marginalized people who are at HIGHER risk than you in these countries, you argue that somehow jewish people should be exempt from this work that every other marginalized community does"
shouldn't have to point out that i don't argue that, but also this is, again, conspiracy theory levels of fucked up.
"bonkers to watch israel-supporters screaming and crying that if they don't colonize and genocide palestinians then jewish people can't safely exist"
yikes.
"if it were remotely true, israelis wouldn't have pulled out their dual citizenship passports and gone back to europe and the us to wait at a distance for their government to finish the genocide they started in 1948"
again, yikes.
there is a choice outside colonization - you can just fucking leave and go back to your home countries that are welcoming you with open arms cuz you still have dual citizenship. you don't have to commit genocide colonize people to exist."
more yikes.
"spacelazarwolf really wants to try and argue that they can't stop colonizing palestine cuz if they do, they have to go back to - checks notes - countries where a ton of people still live"
who is "they"?
"for some reason [spacelazarwolf] thinks that to avoid going through [genocide], jewish people need to be allowed to commit genocide themselves and eradicate palestinians"
once again lying abt me, and also openly saying that they believe it is jews who are committing genocide.
"fucking bonkers that he thinks he somehow has the right to commit genocide and colonize to avoid the situation other jewish people, indigenous people, and black people worldwide find themselves in. cowardly bitch baby behavior actually. like i'm sorry lots of other groups of colonized people, who have been subject to genocide and violence, and racism and are still undergoing it, has managed to NOT colonize other groups of people for their own gain."
bc jews are just inherently more evil than other marginalized ppl, right? we're just more prone to being selfish and hurting people? we're just sniveling whiny bitch babies who will turn around and stab you in the back, right?
"screaming and crying that 'we need to be allowed to genocide palestinians or otherwise we have to go back to the us, where we as white jewish people never have to actually deal with the things indigenous and black people there do' is disgusting genocidal behavior. the thought of actually being in solidarity with colonized people is repulsive to people like spacelazarwolf - that's why they all seek to justify colonial projects instead."
again, conspiracy theory levels of fucked.
at no point do i engage in anti-semitism. all i ever criticize is israel.
don't feel like i need to point out that this is not true.
he has repeatedly stated that israel has to exist, otherwise jewish people have to go back to the us, where indigenous people are being genocided.
cool lie! also fucked up thing to say!
i've said nothing about jewish pain and trauma. in fact, i have said on numerous occasions that jewish pain and trauma are very real and that they DO NOT justify. colonization.
mmmmmmmmmm nah. "whiny little bitch babies" is not saying that "jewish pain and trauma are very real." also oops you accidentally did dual loyalty again.
but spacelazarwolf is so rabidly racist he immediately began fearmongering about the bloodlust savage knocking at his door trying to kill him.
i'm on desktop or i would include that mike wazowski standing meme bc genuinely what the fuck.
anyway, i have no doubt that their support palestinians is genuine. that's great. but it is also incredibly clear that they hate jews, and that is going to be a huge detriment to their activism for palestinians, and they're not the only one this is happening with. people need to figure that shit out on their own instead of harassing and lying about jews online and perpetuating this kind of violently antisemitic rhetoric. bc this is like beyond fucked. i am tired of gentiles blatantly lying abt me so they can get away with saying horrendously antisemitic things to and about me. get your fucking shit together.

Helloo
I'm starting to believe that Armand and Daniel haven't fallen in love yet...
After their bickering I interpretated some moments as Armand being unstable but still controlling his anger for Louis (Some smiles appeared to me not as teasing but as anger). He also didn't want at all the Interview to happen again and wanted to get Daniel to return home on a plane... Like he's not even a little relieved he's in Dubai, he's more of a nuisance (Or maybe it could be tied to an Alice scene? Like a betrayal?)
But then, why would RashidArmand be smiling at Daniel when they were alone in the balcony, or them knowing about Alice...
I'm a bit confused ahahaha, I really would like them to have fallen in love already in the 70s, cause since Louis will probably leave Armand at the end of the season, Daniel would fell very much like the only replacement Armand could find (Considering Armand's attachment issues)... What do you think? For you how are they going to adapt DM?
Hmmmmmmm.
So I think there’s two possibilities (by what we‘ve seen by now, subject to change!):
1) Armand did not fall in love with Daniel in the 70s. Against that stands the Alice OST track we already know of. Which brings us to
2) A part of DM happened in the past, but Daniel “got his shit together“ for the baby. Armand might see that as betrayal. Maybe that is where all this suppressed and helpless anger stems from.
However, I also have the impression, that… maybe Armand does not remember everything either. He says the 70s Daniel is still there, buried, so something that both he and Louis want to find is there. In Daniel. Pertaining to Daniel.
What if.. it’s all a lot more complicated than that. Rashid does not wear a mask but gloves. What if he is also a vampire. Rashid was Eudoxia‘s fledgling in the books, who Marius killed (he also killed Rashid in the books). Maybe that event went a bit differently (and it involved Those Who Must Be Kept!!) and if this is that Rashid… then his part in all of this is a much bigger one (and another connection to Marius).
Maybe Marius is around, as theorized before. Marius took Daniel in in the books, for a while, when he went a bit mad. I said it before, but what if Marius is actually the one who erased Daniel‘s memories. And maybe influenced Armand, somehow. Though I would think even without influence Armand’s feelings might be very complicated already.
But even if Marius is not involved - a felt betrayal is something that would fit imho: softer feelings on seeing someone again.. and then the anger resurfacing at comments or even the inability to change the past.
There is a lot of frustration there, imho.
So to get back to the main question: I think we will only see in ep8 if Armand and Daniel truly fell in love back then - until then it will be showing more towards fear and anger - on the surface.
But there definitely is history.
History which is able to crack Armand’s proverbial armor.
And considering that… I think they did. Fall in love. :) And it hurt Armand, terribly.

Sam/Haley?
(Saley? 🤭)
Saley? Or Ham. LMAO
Hmmmmmmm this one. This one irks me. They sure would be pretty though.
I'm itching to put them in some kind of AU because my mind screams that they don’t make sense in their current context. There has to be an inciting factor like both working as camp counselors in a nearby town or going to college together or something. (Or… Scooby Doo AU? A little Fred/Daphne dynamic perhaps?)
Like maybe Haley has considered it, kinda liked the rogue skater, class clown thing Sam had going on. But she was always expected to be with the star athlete.
Ok wait maybe the inciting incident is Alex coming out as gay. That could work. Farmer shows up, we have an “oh no he’s HOT 😩” moment and Haley is left in the dust.
She’s pissed at first but then realizes she’s free. She can truly do whatever she wants. Who is going to care, now that the rumor mill is abuzz with Alex’s scandal?
She experiments with her fashion. Tries new hobbies. She goes to visit Emily at work and even gets a little tipsy and dances. And one Friday night she sees Sam there playing pool with Sebastian and she can’t help herself. He’s so fucking tall and edgy, it’s an exciting kind of intimidating. But Haley can be intimidating too, despite her size.
“Sebastian. Sam.” She greets them both with her arms crossed and an easy smile.
“Uh. Hi.” Sebastian is the first to respond, straightening up from where he was lining up a shot.
“In light of recent events I feel the need to ask if either of you are gay,” Haley starts.
“What?” Sebastian asks in disbelief.
“No,” Sam says immediately.
Haley meets his eyes with a predatory sort of smile. “Alright, prove it. Dance with me.”
Sam kind of chuckles and bites his lip, looking over at Sebastian. “Man I know we’re in the middle of something but…”
Sebastian rolls his eyes and points to Haley. “You, wait there two turns. If you still want him after I kick his ass you can have him for tonight.”
Haley chuckles. “Deal.”
It’s actually kind of torture, in a good way. She has a front row seat to watch his body move, his eyebrows furrow and tongue sticking out when he’s concentrating.
She doesn’t know much about pool, so she doesn’t care that Sebastian is right about kicking his ass. All she cares about is the man rounding the table to meet her, as Sebastian goes off to find Abby.
“Hi,” Sam says with a cheeky smile down at her. He isn’t shy, getting close and personal already.
“Hi,” she gives him her best flirty smile.
“Still up to dance with a loser?”
“Can’t really be considered a loser with the hottest girl in here on your arm.”
He chuckles at that, taking her hand to guide them to the dancefloor. She’s caught a bit off-guard by his forwardness but damn if it isn’t sexy as hell. And his hand is big 🫠
His hands move to her waist on the dancefloor and they sway with some distance between them to continue speaking.
“I don’t know how you can be so confident about that by the way," He says once their settled into a rhythm.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, I mean, just look at Pam. You’ve got some stiff competition.”
“Oh har-har very funny,” she rolls her eyes but fights a smile.
“Ooo tough crowd.”
“I’m tough to please.”
“I can imagine. But correct me if I’m wrong Princess, seems like you’re already sold on me.”
The sudden nickname almost gets her flustered. She decides to ignore it. Ignore it and definitely not file it away in her brain to obsess over later. “Not sold at all, that’s why I asked for a dance and not your hand in marriage.”
“I see. This is my test drive then?”
“You could call it that.”
“You look beautiful.”
It’s obviously a line. But it comes so suddenly that Haley does get flustered this time. “I know,” she blurts, and then, “thank you.”
His smile widens at her blush. “I’m serious, I like the new look. You seem more like yourself.”
“Myself? And how would you know?” she raises a perfect eyebrow at him as its his turn to get sheepish.
“Oh, well I just mean like, I don’t know. It suits you. You seem happier.”
She thinks about that, looking at his shirt instead of his eyes. She has been feeling happier. She sighs and leans into Sam, closing the distance between them to lay her head against his pounding chest. He stops swaying, surprised. She smiles at how fast his heart is going under his facade.
“I am happier, I think.”
DAMN OK I DONE GONE AN CONVINCED MYSELF LMAO these two are kinda fire ngl I think theyd both be sassy and flirty the banter is top tier

not sure if this necessary qualifies as an #industryQs but any tips for doing line art that does just look like i’m drawing a coloring sheet if that makes sense? idk something just feels clunky and off about it compared to others art (including yours which is awesome btw)
Oh hmmmmmmm, well honestly my lineart is a result of my handwriting being pure cursive. So, I normally suggest people to practice writing in cursive haha. It might be a weird suggestion, but penmanship classes actually helped me a lot with understanding line depth and control throughout my art journey. If you think about it, writing in cursive is about using one line (or the least amount) to write a whole word. That requires control of pen pressure and when to curve, make short strokes, long strokes, etc. The more you practice that, the more decisive you are with your line making.
For this drawing, I used a thicker, gritty brush and you probably can't tell but I'm using a combination of long and short strokes to help push the pen pressure (or really the line thickness from the brush).
All the red lines are long, singular strokes that have a bit more variation in line thickness unlike the blue lines (mainly the hair) which have the same line thickness. Personally when I see young artists start out, the line weight feels heavy and flat because there's not a lot of confidence in the line making. More strokes doesn't always mean a better line. Knowing when to use a long or short stroke can drastically change the "look" of a line. And the extra cool thing about it is that it can be applied to any pen/brush you use:
In this drawing, I'm using a brush that has no pen pressure whatsoever. The line weight/thickness doesn't change regardless if I'm using a long or short stroke and yet it doesn't feel flat.
But something like this starts combining line with form (human body, fabric, hair, etc.). Which for myself was good way for me to learn how to depict form more decisively (and accurately) since I couldn't rely on line weight to make thicker strokes. So, I would say try practicing writing in cursive to help feel more comfortable with line making. A common practice is writing the English alphabet in one stroke (it's possible trust me haha) or the least amount of strokes possible. Also drawing/writing strictly in ink traditionally can help you think more about what lines you want to make since it's more permanent. At least that's what helped me, so don't feel like to have to do any of this if it doesn't work for you. ^^; I hope that answered your question!

Thomas Hunt prided himself on knowing how to handle anything life threw at him. He was a professional. He understood that sometimes things went wrong and you have to adapt. It's a part of life as much as a part of show business. It's one of the things he tries his best to instil in his students, though this particular crop is so hard headed he's surprised they learn anything from him at all.
That being said,
He was not expecting a toddler when he opened his office door. A young student, yes, but not this young.
He looked down at a girl that couldn't be older than five with a confused look. She had long, curly pink hair, bright blue eyes, and, from the looks of it, was missing most of her teeth. She was dressed in a Hollywood U sweatshirt that was far too large for her. They sold kids sizes in the student shop but certainly not toddlers. She was holding a well loved stuffed cow.
"Excuse me." She spoke softly, averting her eyes shyly. "I need help."
Hunt blinked at her.
"Oh?" He said, dumbly though he's loath to admit it. "With what?"
"I can't find my momma..." And, oh no, there are tears welling in her eyes. "Your door says you're a hunter..."
He looks from the plaque on the door that reads 'Prof. Hunt' and back to the little girl.
"Not quite, little one." He places an awkward hand on her head. "But I can help you find your mother."
Her eyes light up and she hugs the cow closer to her. From this angle her eyes take up most of her face.
"Thank you." She says in a practiced tone.
"What is her name?"
"Mom."
Hm.
"Where did you see her last?"
"In the building."
Hmm.
"Do you know which building?"
"Um, it was made of bricks."
Hmmmmmmm.
"Well, do you know your name?"
The little girl nods.
...
...
"May I know your name?"
She gets shy, kicking her feet nervously.
"Momma said I'm not supposed to tell my name to strange old men."
Well, Hunt would hardly consider late 30's old but he digresses. He kneels down in front of her and offers her his hand.
"I'm Tom. I teach at this school. Does your Mom teach here, too?"
The little girl eyes his hand for a moment before tentatively shaking it and then her head.
"No. Momma goes to school here. She lives here, too. I live with Gramma and Grampa." The girl hugs the cow tighter, lip wobbling. "I didn' mean to get lost... I was following the butterfly."
Hunt is scrambling. Internally, of course, he's not going to let this upset toddler see he's freaking out, but the feeling persists nonetheless.
"Well, why don't we look around together? I'm sure she's very worried about you. Here, would you like me to carry you?" He asks, trying to project all of the good will he can muster. It must work because the girl holds her arms up and Hunt scoops her up and places her on his hip.
"Alright, which way should we go first?" He asks, tickling her side softly. Thank God, the girl giggles and the tears leave her eyes. She looks both ways before pointing down the hallway, so Thomas goes that way.
"My name's Ryanne." She says softly into his ear, still clutching her cow.
"That's a very nice name. Tell me, are you here with your mother and father?"
"I don' have a dad."
Okay, not touching that with a ten foot pole.
"Momma brought me here for the weekend. I was with Aunt Addie and Uncle E."
Addie and E? Why does that sound so familiar? It's on the tip of his tongue when Ryanne gently smacks his cheek to get his attention.
"That place! I came from that place!" She points at the student production lot. Most of his students should be there at the moment if they want their assignments to be done on time. This is a good chance to check on their progress and help Ryanne find her mother. He walks into the large building and finds it bustling with activity, students and teaching assistants rushing about.
"There!" She points at the fantasy set at the far end of the lot. From here, he can see several people rushing around, sees that they're yelling but can't quite hear them. "Momma wanted to show me the princess castle."
As he steps closer he can hear the clipped, frantic tone of his most... Difficult student, Rebecca Prince. He doesn't quite see her but he already preemptively rolls his eyes, not eager to deal with whatever distraction she'll pose before he helps Ryanne.
"I hear Momma!" Ryanne wiggles out of his grasp and takes off, Hunt right behind her. They come upon Rebecca gesturing wildly to Ms. Sinclair and Mr. Blake, eyes frantic and panicking.
"I've looked all over the lot, nobody has seen a toddler running around. I just can't believe you guys! I asked you to watch her for two minutes! Two minutes!" Mr. Blake looks guilty and Ms. Sinclair averts her eyes. "We got... Distracted. Ethan got a call... I had to help fix a hem...* Sinclair says lamely. Rebecca goes red in the face, about to snap at her.
"Momma!" Ryanne calls out and Rebecca spins around. She looks like a puppet with its strings cut the way she melts in relief. She quickly drops to her knees and holds Ryanne tightly.
"Jesus Christ, Ry, oh my god, are you okay!?" She pulls back, checking her over with a critical eye. Ryanne giggles as Rebecca, her mother, pokes at her stomach.
"Mhm. Tommy helped me!" That's when Rebecca notices him standing awkwardly to the side. She looks at him for a moment, mouth parted as if to say something before shaking her head and standing, holding onto Ryanne's hand.
"Thank you," Rebecca's eyes are sparkling and Hunt is reminded of the fountains of Versailles as he looks in them. He's about to respond when her eyes and smile turn sharp. "Tommy." She turns to Ryanne and pats her back. "Go apologize to Aunt Addie and Uncle E for running off. They were about to die today." She adds the last part with a glare at her flustered friends and Ryanne happily scampers towards them, the flight and colors of a butterfly already spilling out of her.
Rebecca looks at him for a moment in a way that reminds him of a film critic.
"I didn't know you had a daughter." He says before Rebecca can speak. He sees her eyes widen, a gentle blush adorning her cheeks. "Yeah. She lives with my parents most of the time. Addison and Ethan wanted to meet her and I already finished your project, so I figured this would be a good weekend." She never quite looks away from Ryanne, drinking in the sight of her as the panic slowly dissipates.
"She's very... Polite." He mumbles. Rebecca snorts and Hunt very politely does not point it out, even as the sound replays in his head. "That's all my parents. Trying to make up for their mistakes with me." She rolls her eyes, finally looking at him again. "What a crock of shit, right? I mean, look at me. I'm awesome."
Hunt scoffs. "Hardly. In fact, I'd say you think far too highly of yourself. That's something you'd do well to mind, Ms. Prince. Or is it Mrs.?" What was intended as a playful jab has her bristling and her face becoming stony. "It's Rebecca. Come on, Ryanne, it's nap time." Ryanne nods and bounces over to them before beckoning Hunt closer to her.
He crouches down and is met with a handful of toddler as she hugs him as tightly as she can. "Thank you, Tommy!" She smiles brightly and Hunt feels himself hugging back despite himself. "You're very welcome, Ryanne."
Rebecca picks her up and Ryanne waves at him goodbye over her shoulder, Ms. Sinclair and Mr. Blake following close behind.
What a cute kid.
He'll have to remember to ask after her before class on Monday.
Ask after Rebecca, too.

I’m loving your “first kiss” fic and I’m loving your “wife reveal” fic
And now I’m gonna be a nagging parasite asking you to visualize and write other scenarios regarding this couple cuz I want more
And I’ll be asking you to write a “fix it” fic in case the show derails which is not uncommon for a lot of shows these days…..
So tell me, how do you think Heejoo’s first willful verbal conversation with him will go?
What will it be about
hahahaha thank you! that's good news cause I feel like im just flooding the tag at this point....cant help it tho. I just wanna talk about this show 😌
youre more than welcome to pop in with wtpr discourse whenever, I love having people to talk to about this! but I can't always promise I'll have useful or even good comments to make or motivation to write lmao but I'll try
hmmmmmmm. I can see it happening two different ways:
(this got long so my answer is under the cut>)
1> the first scenario is simple and oh so sweet: they're both asleep in the same bed after a traumatic event or know..just sleeping in the same bed lmao and heejoo wakes up before saeon-
she turns to face him, getting close but not close enough to wake him up, and takes a moment to just...appreciate him, his face his presence., his love and efforts and all the different ways he's been trying to protect her and keep her safe and take care of her
and she gets so lost in the moment, in her memories of him of them and in her feelings, that she reaches out to trace his cheekbone and very quietly whispers "I love you"
which is of course the moment saeon opens his eyes, easing them open as he looks at her, holding onto her gaze as her eyes widen. and off this is when she tries to move back, to shuffle away as she slaps a hand over her mouth, only to immediately be stopped by her husband, who is still in absolute awe.
he pulls her hand away from her mouth, kissing the palm of her hand and then wraps his arms around her, pulling her back in and keeps her there as he whispers an I love you back :')
2> wow ok that got long but the second scenario would be: saeon in a hospital bed after the kidnapper almost killed him, and heejoo sat at his bedside, tears flowing down her cheeks as she grips onto his hand and praying for him to wake up - and suddenly she starts talking, begging him to wake up. that she will stay with him if he does, that she loves him that he's her saviour and that she will talk to him every day, every second and every minute if he were to just...open his eyes
andddd....he does :) and asks her to say I love you again and yeah
(a secret third option: or it could be the inverse and its heejoo who's in bed unconscious and its saeon begging her to come back to him, his head bowed and suddenly he hears hi name and his head snaps up and yeah)
I LIKE MY CHEESY FLUFFY TROPES WHAT CAN I SAY-

17-18-19 pls! :D
oooh thank you! :)
these ones are a bit tricky since i've only actually posted one fic (and it's woefully unfinished) this year, because i've been super busy writing things that i never finish, so i'm going to interpret this liberally and include things i haven't technically finished yet, but are at least 50% written.
my favorite opening line that i've written this year! oof, i have no idea. after some pondering, i think it might be:
It has always been that 108 Mifflin Street is Henry’s home, and never truly felt like hers until he was there with her, scattering his toys across the living room and the plastic baby plates and bowls across the counter. Filling the bookshelves with board games and comic books, and covering the walls with the first photographs Regina had ever owned or taken. She learned to use a camera to capture his smile.
but i'm also incredibly fond of the first line in a very in-progress follow-up to a oneshot i wrote for supercorptober like, 2 years ago lol
Lena meets her son in the middle of the night on the last day of August, with flowers growing from her palms and the smell of house-fire smoke hanging heavy in the air. He’s four years old and terribly alone, and there’s drywall dust and white ash clinging to his hair like snow.
favorite ending line might be even harder, oh no. a lot of my favorite "ending" lines are technically the end of a fic, but they end sections or chapters, so they're kinda-but-not-totally ending lines if that makes sense? hmmmmmmm.
i really like this line that ends the first section of desire as round as peaches bloom in me all night:
(And if she’s fallen a little in love with Meredith, somewhere along the telephone wires between Seattle and L.A., well. It hardly matters now.)
but also this line from the sequel/alt. pov fic i've been writing to your voice is the splinter inside me:
This is the moment she knows there are memories she has lost. It feels like only moments ago that she watched that horrible yellow bug drive across the town line with the only people in the world who gave a damn about her, who trusted and believed there was something good in her heart. Purple smoke, crackling with magic, had swallowed the sky, and they were gone. After that, Regina can remember nothing but crushing grief.
for my favorite piece of dialogue, i almost chose a line from my recent meddison fic that i really like, but instead i have to go with this scene from the yvitsim sequel:
Regina hates that she cannot remember changing. But she knows she has, if only because Snow shows up, unannounced and uninvited, and rather than incinerate her on the spot, Regina puts the kettle on the stove and doesn’t insult her god-awful pastel sweater. She busies herself with readying two mugs while Snow sits at the counter and taps her fingers on the marble. Eventually, Snow sighs, and after taking a long sip of the tea Regina offers her, she asks: “Do you think it’s odd that Emma and Henry are staying at Granny’s? There’s plenty of room at the loft.” There is not plenty of room at the loft, Regina thinks, but does not say. It has also occurred to her as odd, that Emma would prefer a sub-par bed and breakfast over her parents house, but felt it was none of her business, and kept her mouth shut. But now she looks at Snow, at the large swell of her belly and the hand she always seems to have resting there, and it doesn’t seem so odd anymore. Regina sighs. “Give her time, Snow,” she says simply, leaning against the counter. “She’s adjusting.” “Adjusting to what?” Snow asks, looking confused, and gods, Regina thinks. How can a fully cognizant adult be so oblivious? “You’re eight months pregnant, Snow,” she deadpans. Snow’s shoulders drop, and the expression on her face turns heavy and sad. For a moment, Regina fears Snow will start crying, and that she’ll have to do something truly horrifying like comfort her. Undo it undo it undo it her brain shouts at her, almost panicky. “He kicks. In his sleep, Henry kicks,” she blurts out rather awkwardly. “Emma’s probably trying to avoid sharing a bed with him at the loft.” Snow smiles sadly at her, like she doesn’t believe a word of it, but appreciates the gesture nonetheless. Regina, suddenly incredibly uncomfortable, skin crawling with old, unwanted instincts to lash out, clears her throat and busies her hands with mixing her cup of tea.
this was VERY difficult, but very fun. thank you for the ask! :)

With s3 of re:zero coming out in the beginning of October, I am rewatching the show! Admittedly I skipped the first 8 episodes since I've watched the first season like 4.5 times (the .5 is from me trying to rewatch it in August but only the runtime that is the correct timeline, so I'm picking up from that point)
And I gotta say, I love shows and movies that have rewatch-ability. That is to say when you end a season or the whole show or movie, you've gained more context about the story's world at large or individual character's goals such that if you rewatch the show or movie you see it in a different light. A prime example of this is attack on titan. Re:zero also does this but in a different way.
Re:zero's rewatch-ability is so subtle. The way the plot is, it practically has Subaru abusing the "rewatch-ability" himself: learning more about a situation and his opponents, what worked and what didn't, learning secrets they and his allies alike would want to keep secret. It has so many moving parts and it doesn't linger on anything much, but in the background there are shadows moving and THATS the rewatch-ability. And when those shadowed bits dare to enter center stage Subaru who is missing so much of the world's context bulldozes right past it without a thought. The plot continues forward, the real answer isn't NEEDED at this point.
But it's still a huge question mark.
Here's an example- Subaru asking Beatrice about Shaman and curses. Beatrice offhandedly mentions "the witches scent" prompting Subaru to ask more about it. And it's just so so so fascinating to hear Beatrice say "when people of this world says the word witch, they are really just referring to one person in particular." Then she proceeds to practically recite from a book all about Satella, like HER OWN 'MOTHER' ECHIDNA WASN'T DEVOURED BY SATELLA??? AND SHE HAS NO EMOTIONS ABOUT IT?? (Which that is a whole other conversation, why would she detach herself from her departed mother when she is stuck in the library at her mother's request. Hmmmmmmm) And then Subaru starts to question Emilia's reasons for using Satella's name in the first episode. He comes to an unsatisfactory answer and forgets that line of thought completely.
It makes me want to grab his shoulders and shake sense into him!
