so now that Luke has revealed that he's filming Bton again where are all you nasty ass people who were out here screaming about how he's 'jobless' when he literally just took a vacation in between nonstop promo and coming back to filming as a reoccuring character on a global show? the man took the equivalent of a summer break in between semesters and you all lost your shit. if this isn't proof that even on said break he was likely memorizing lines, a process that he has admitted takes him longer as someone with dyslexia, idk what is. some of y'all should relearn feeling ashamed for how rude and ableist y'all've been. is this not a job????

After I did that Professor Layton To Be a Princess video, I've been thinking of who would be whom if I tried to cast all the Layton characters in it, and it's hard to decide for most of them, but one choice is certain: Descole would be Preminger

And the image of it was stuck in my head so I ended up making this with Flipnote Studios on my DSi:

(in case you're curious, Preminger was voiced by none other than Martin Short in what was possibly one of his best performances ever and I mean that quite seriously)

guys. i need your opinion of this. because i'm genuinely so confused now

what time period is the professor layton series in?? the prequel trilogy and the main trilogy. when are they supposed to be taking place

i could've sworn one of the games (though i forget which) mentions that someone's been to the moon already which would put them at least in the late 60s into the 70s going by our world's timeline... but i don't know maybe space travel was discovered earlier in this universe???

#melonposting #professor layton #it would be useful if i just had a comprehensive timeline of events in this series so it would be easier to plot things out #but just for the sake of argument... just for funzies...#let's say randall disappeared in 1949 #then miracle mask takes place in 1967 (18 years after randall's disappearance in 1949)#and then extrapolating backwards - if luke is 11 and hershel is 35 in miracle mask #then luke was born in 1956 and hershel in 1932 #luke is 15 when katrielle is born. so she's born in 1971 #he and layton go missing ten years later. that'd be 1981 #and then it's another eleven years (when she's 21) that kat has her mystery-solving agency and finds her father and everything. so 1992 #(which makes the more modern nonsense we see in her game/anime more plausible)#and just for the heck of it. if we're presuming alfendi is 29 at the same time that katrielle is 21 then he's 8 years older than her #putting his birth year somewhere around 1963 #and then... hm... luke is 13 in unwound future. and the explosion in which claire died was said to have happened 10 years prior #so when luke was 3 years old... in 1959 #and clive was 13 at that time. exactly 10 years older than luke. so he would've been born around 1946 #of course it's hard to pinpoint exact dates when you don't know anyone's birthday or what month a game is taking place in #and of course this is making a ton of assumptions #among other things that the moon landing really did take place in 1969 in this universe #i don't even remember which game mentioned the moon landing! which is annoying!#i think it was unwound future so i tried to have it in the ballpark of 1969 (by placing miracle mask two years prior in 1967)#(going off of luke's ages of 11 in miracle mask and 13 in unwound future as reference of the time passage between them)#at the very least i'm sure the moon landing was referenced somewhere within the prequel or main triologies #so unwound future is the last game it could've been mentioned in. so either it takes place in 1969 or an earlier game in the timeline does #but i'm willing to allow for the moon landing to have taken place before 1969 in the laytonverse. their technology is very weird after all #if i place it somewhere earlier in the 60s then the dates can be pushed back. and this fic i'm reading would be totally canon-compliant!#cuz it describes angela & henry 5 years after randall's disappearance being somewhere in the 1940s #which would only be possible if the moon landing takes place earlier for the dates to be pushed back that far #(of course a minor decade discrepancy does nothing to ruin my enjoyment of the fic. i just think it would be nice to make it all work out)

hhhhhh I need to properly reread Percy jackson again. This post brought to you by the fact I was about to make a post about a scene I very vividly remember of Will Solace trying to convince Pollux not to keep fighting with his good arm broken before Percy manages to convince him not to bc he promised Dionysus, then thought to myself "huh maybe I should fact check that- I mean I did also convince myself that Travis stoll died in this battle when he actually just went to college." And guess what? That scene ✨️didn't happen.✨️ Pollux was trying to convince Percy to let him rejoin the fight very half heartedly, while propped against a tree, and Percy was just like "hmmmm... no"

#Can you blame me tho.#SO much was going on in that book. It was literally JUST that battle and over the course of like 3 days #Here's some I found while skimming my copy of tlo for the scene in question:#Nico trying to rescue/ speak to his mum ft. Hades being a really shitty person (& shittier father)#Rachel's family helicopter almost crashing #Percy having a conversation with may castellan #Luke very belatedly realising “hm maybe I shouldn't give complete control of my body and mind to kronos”#This one random half-asleep demigod Percy runs into at one point that might’ve been Clovis? The demigod was said to be 12 tho-#So maybe his brother?#Prometheus shows up and gives Percy Pandora's jar #Percy getting thrown in prison by Hades and STRANGLES NICO FOR BRINGING HIM TO THE UNDERWORLD????#nico sends the guards to sleep tho so yay dream powers from his dad #And then Achilles's ghost shows up and basically just goes “are you fucking stupid or something. Why would you want my curse”#Chiron brings the party ponies to fight (they got drunk on rootbeer instead)#I think literally the only things from this book I accurately remembered were #1. Michael Yew convinces Percy to destroy a bridge while he's still on it #2. Annabeth moves to protect Percy's weak spot before she even knew where it was #3. One of Silenus's brothers dies and grover gets to be part of the council #4. Silena regrets being a spy and steals clarisse's armour to fight a drakon #5. Clarisse is PISSED that she did something so stupid and kills the drakon with her father's blessing #6. The fact Percy and Luke actually managed to converse during the Final Battle tm and Luke told Percy his weak spot #7. Ethan is a character who existed and then died. He was the son of Nemesis #Hm actually that's a lot more than I thought #But again there are Things happening in this book and there are Many Of Them and most of them are pretty fucked up actually.#anyway #pjo #Something something how is this a kids book etc

i’m too sleepy to make a proper post but i need you all to know that between the three hughes brothers, luke’s natal chart is by far the most concerning. not in a ‘oh no he’s evil way’ but in a ‘oh my god how do you live like this’ way. someone please help him.
