Not gonna lie I love how all the designs in ToT/AP are genuinely top-notch but still rather...Relaxed to fit with how tranquil (bad dumm tss) the games are in the end, but stg someone on the designers team just got to Julius and Selena and went “WE AIN’T LEAVING ANYONE STRAIGHT WITH THESE FUCKERS” and just burnt straight fire down onto the character sheet. and honestly? yeah.  Julius is still one of my favorite HM characters. I was suddenly intensely compelled to draw Simon as a Pokémon trainer so this exists now d(•w• ).

I initially was going to make him a Dark type trainer since Dark is super effective against Ghost and most of what he hunts would fall under that I guess, also a lot of his designs have some similar color schemes as other Dark type things, BUT I realized that, surprisingly, Ghost actually fits wayyyyyy better. Ghost is also super effective against Ghost (I have always found this funny lol) and has both more Pokémon that make sense character wise as well as moves like “Curse”. Mimikyu’s whole thing is that it looks up to and wants to be just as adored as Pikachu and idk I think Simon would kinda vibe with that a lot. Also the whole Litwick line and like ya know Castlevania games and their candles, the chandeliers, it just fits. Simon’s Quest also has the Mysterious Woman who appears with the mist in a graveyard and may or may not be a ghost who helps Simon so that tracks too. He also just seems like he’d spend a lot of time hangin around in a cemetery idk how to explain that.

His design is mostly just an altered Simon’s Quest outfit, but I added elements of his other designs to it like bits of red in his hair, the cape from the manual drawings (and the smash bros teaser I guess lol), the fur and boots from Ayami’s design, a ripped skirt thing like the smash bros design (I’m sure other designs have had something similar too I just can’t think about which rn), the armband thingys and the headband from his NES cover and X68000 designs, etc etc. I imagine that he’d probably have the cape down most of the time and come off as a more brown focused design (I didn’t color them all the way cause I didn’t wanna get all my colored pencils out oof) and say things that kinda mislead the player into thinking he’s maybe a Fighting type trainer or something. Then when actually battling him he pushes the cape back and oh wow big reveal!

Yeah idk, this was fun tho. Maybe I’ll draw some other Belmonts as trainers too eventually, I have some ideas already hmmm. Also it is so so hard to remember what I have and have not posted here, especially since I know I’ve posted this elsewhere so I keep feeling like I’ve already written all of this before ｡(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡. So if I’ve already posted something please tell me, my memory sucks most of the time and I’d greatly appreciate that!

sorry thinking about the outsiders again (for highly predictable reasons) and tbh I do not think it is outside the realm of possibility that Darry has some gender things going on that he simply does not have the Time to think about until Pony's in college and Soda is reasonably self-sufficient.

and when he finally does have time it's Two-Bit who blows the doors wide open. possibly with a pink polka-dot kiss the cook apron.

Sometimes I wonder why Selena and Xander's support chain is about Selena trying and failing to get Xander to lighten with jokes. Selena never came across as someone who’d try to do that. It feels like it falls more in Laslow/Odin’s court. I know she’s attempting it because it would make Camilla happy, but there were other ways to accomplish this? And the jokes route seems weird for Selena to take. I’m surprised she didn’t make a reference to how he reminds her of Lucina. (1/2)

Like taking burdens onto yourself, distancing yourself from family for the inevitable, overworking, ect. Or even from her own standpoint of poor communication with your only family + losing them in wars + the walls you put up as a result to continue on in the war/be a pillar of support (Sev w/Noire + Lucina in DLC, Xander w/ his sibs/Nohr). Amusing as it was, it just feels like a weird take for her support with Xander. (2/2)

Hm, you make good points that Selena & Xander could bond on things such as loss due to war or feeling like you need to build walls around yourself, but the fact Selena is ordering Xander around never struck me as strange. In fact, it’s behavior that’s reminiscent of her Awakening behavior (Severa ordering Kjelle to be more girly, Severa forcing Brady to join a club with her, Severa arguing with Laurent over buying fun supplies, etc.) Although the fact her behavior is also motivated by wanting to make Xander more approachable for Camilla’s sake rather than just what she wants/thinks is good shows some growth from that time period as well.

Although I can see Xander & Selena as bonding on other points, as you said, that might be something that comes later, once they’ve gotten to know each other better and the barrier of king + subordinate is no longer there. Which sounds strange since Selena is giving Xander forceful advice, which is already more informal than how a subordinate should be to a king. But she’s not being emotionally vulnerable when doing so. It’s very surface level conversation until their A (or even S support, if you go that route) where Selena lets some of those barriers fall. Which seems more appropriate for actually getting closer to one another to me.

Granted, I’m sure there is some version of their Supports that can have them authentically bonding over the shared hardship points you brought up! And in fact I think seeing that would be neat. But the joke stuff never struck me as out of character! In fact, it feels more like a callback to Selena’s younger self more than anything.

We had access to phone during recess in primary school, and all we used it for was filming a strange and meandering documentary show on my friend's flip phone, about people tracking down a serial killer who killed celebrities, which then broke the fourth wall when the serial killer murdered the cameraman (my best friend) on live broadcast. The rest of the show was "filmed" by the cameraman's ghost, with no commentary. It ended with the serial killer turning into a werewolf out of a local legend (in-universe) and disappearing into a swamp. For some reason.

I guess my point is that phones can be used for creativity, but really I just wanted to share.

"kids don't pay attention in class anymore Because Of Phone" is so funny as an argument. students haven't paid attention in class since school was invented. my parents' generation were in there making flipbooks out of the corners of their notebooks and doodling random shit instead of taking notes. and they didn't have phones.
