ANON YOU'VE MADE MY DAY PLEASE MARRY ME /j ohhhhhh boy strap in i'm about to give you one hell of an infodump(seriously this is pretty long there's a lot to cover) team fortress 2(tf2) is a class-based multiplayer shooter game released in 2007 by game developer valve. it was originally developed off a quake mod and released alongside two other valve games-portal and half-life(eps 1 and 2, and hl 2)-as part of the orange box. it is free to play off steam and is the most fun you can have online.

GAMEPLAY

tf2 is generally played in a team vs team format - red vs blue. mainly gonna talk about casual since competitive has its own rules and servers also do sometimes.

there are nine classes/ 'playable characters' - scout - soldier - pyro - demoman - heavy - engineer - medic - sniper - spy

each class has its own function/role on the team. these roles are grouped into 3 different 'types' based on how the class is meant to be played- offense(scout, soldier, pyro), defense(demo, heavy, engineer), and support(sniper, medic, spy), although this system is slightly outdated.

offensive classes are the frontline classes, they're the 'attackers' so to speak. their main function is damage dealing and breaking through the enemy team's frontlines to advance the efforts of their own team.

defensive classes are exactly what they sound like: defense. if the enemy team has manages to break through the frontlines, defense classes are there to deal with them. their main function is to stop the enemy team from advancing.

support classes are also what the name says. they support the efforts of the rest of the team.

CLASSES (please keep in mind i am by no means an expert and these are just the main purposes of the classes. also, i will only be covering the stock weapons, as there are a multitude of alternate weapons and playstyles for each class and if i went into detail about all of them we'd be here all day lol)

SCOUT: the scout's main function is to get in and out and deal damage fast. he has the fastest base movement speed of all classes at 133%. he has a base health of 125, with 185 health with full overheal. he is the only class that can double jump. his stock weapons are the scattergun as the primary, pistol as the secondary, and baseball bat as melee.

SOLDIER: the soldier is mainly meant to be a damage dealer and is very good for clearing out groups of enemy players quickly at mid to long range. his base movement speed is 80%, one of the lowest in the game. base health is 200, 300 with full overheal. the soldier can rocket jump, the act of shooting a rocket at the ground and jumping to launch yourself into the air and across the map, an ability shared with the demoman. soldiers are also effective at destroying engineer nests. soldier's stock weapons are the rocket launcher, shotgun, and shovel.

PYRO: the pyro is most effective clearing out groups of enemy players at close range by setting them on fire. base movement speed is 100%. base health is 175, 260 full overheal. enemies set on fire are subjected to afterburn and take extra damage over time even if they are not being actively attacked. the pyro also has the ability to deflect projectiles(rockets, grenades, arrows, ect.) with their airblast. it can also be used to push away enemy players and extinguish teammates that are on fire. pyro's stock weapons are the flamethrower, shotgun, and fire axe.

DEMOMAN: the demoman specialises in dealing damage through explosions. base movement speed is 93%. base health is 175, 260 full overheal. demo has two main explosive types: stckybombs and grenades. grenades are like rockets in that they expload on contact with enemy players. stickybombs are useful in laying traps, as they do not detonate immediately and can stick to buildings and other surfaces and can be remotely detonated by the player. both can be used in a similar way as rocket jumping. demos are also effective at destroying engineer nests. stock weapons are the grenade launcher, stickybomb launcher, and bottle.

HEAVY: the heavy weapons guy(heavy) is good for mowing down enemies quickly. base movement speed is 77%, slowest in the game. base health 300, 450 overheal, most health in the game. heavy's minigun has a very high firing rate and thus a high damage output but is slowed significantly while firing. stock weapons are the minigun, shotgun, and fists.

ENGINEER: the engineer specialises as the main defensive live. base movement speed is 100%. base health is 125, 185 overheal. the engineer's main ability is constructing buildings. the building he can construct are the sentry gun, dispenser, and teleporter. the sentry gun is a stationary gun that targets enemy players at mid to close range. dispensers are stationary buildings that provide ammunition and health to teammates. teleporters are used to transport teammates around the battlefield quickly. a collection of all these buildings together is sometimes referred to as a nest. the engineer technically has four weapon slots as opposed to the usual three- the stock weapons slots are the shotgun, pistol, and wrench, along with the pda which is used to monitor buildings.

SNIPER: the sniper's main purpose is picking off important enemies at long range. base movement speed is 100%. base health 125, 185 overheal. headshot with the sniper rifle is a guaranteed critical hit that will kill most classes instantly(unless the enemy is overhealed) and a fully charged headshot will instantly kill all classes(unless ubercharged). the rifle charge is built while scoped(zoomed in). stock weapons are the sniper rifle, smg, and kukri.

MEDIC: the medic's job is to heal teammates. base movement speed is 107%. base health is 150, 225 overheal. the medic technically has no primary weapon and instead has the medigun, which heals injured teammates. fully healed teammates get overheal going up to 150% of the player's base health. healing teammates builds ubercharge, that, once fully charged, is used to make both the medic and the target to the charge invincible for 8 seconds. the medic's stock weapons are the medigun, syringe gun, and bonesaw.

SPY: the spy is a stealth class mean to infiltrate the enemy team and kill targets undetected. base movement speed is 107%. base health is 125, 185 overheal. the spy has the ability to cloak and become invisible or diguise as enemy(and friendly) players. the spy can also backstab, instantly killing the enemy when attacked from behind. spy can also disable and destroy engineer buildings using the electro-sapper. the spy also technically has four weapon slots- stock weapons are the revolver and knife, as well as the disguse kit and invis watch.

GAMEMODES

the main game modes i'm going to talk about are capture the flag, control point, payload, and mann vs machine, as those are generally the most played. capture the flag, control point, and payload are all team vs team, and mann vs machine is technically player vs everyone

CAPTURE THE FLAG pretty simple, the main objective is to get inside the enemy's base and steal their intelligence and bring it back to your own base without getting killed. if a player carrying the intel is killed, it is dropped in that spot and can be picked up by either team. if it is picked up by team it belongs to, it is sent back to their base. if the intel is not picked up within sixty seconds it is also sent back.

CONTROL POINT both teams work to capture all control points. depending on the map, the method of capturing the points may be different, but overall play remains much the same. to capture a point it must be stood on by a member of a team for a certain amount of time. that player must be uncontested(no players from the other team at that point). more teammates on a point mean the point is captured faster. scouts also capture points at twice the speed of one player. there are typically an odd number of points. depending on where the point is, it can be locked, captured, or neutral. locked points cannot be captured by the opposing team until the point before it is captured. captured points are points that are captured but can be taken by the opposing team. neutral points have not been captured by either team.

PAYLOAD the attacking team(blu) attempts to deliver a bomb through a series of checkpoints into the defending base(red) within five minutes. players push the cart foreward by standing on or next to it. each checkpoint the cart reaches adds time to the clock. the more people pushing the cart, the faster it moves. if any member of the opposing team stands next to the cart, the movement is stopped until that player is chased away or killed. if there are no players pushing the cart after thirty seconds, the cart begins to slowly move backwards.

MANN VS MACHINE a group of three to six players fight a horde of robot versions of each class attempting to deliver a bomb into a mann co stronghold. the robots attack in waves and the players must defeat each wave to defend the stronghold and prevent the robots from delivering the bomb. there is a period of set up time for players to choose weapons, set up buildings, and build ubercharge before fighting. dead robots drop money, which can be used to buy upgrades for weapons and ammo, as well as health and crits. medics can also revive dead players, allowing them to get back to fighting faster.

Rating all Portal/Half-life games I've played

Portal: 9/10 - Minus one point for being so short. It's really fun on the first playthrough tho and doing the achievements is pretty fun as well! I've recently even "speedruned" it in like 30 minutes during a Discord call.

Portal 2: 10/10 - It's longer! And I've really enjoyed to variety of the levels. And adding actual plot was also a good direction! Three villains and one protag is really something.

Half-life: 8/10 - Ok, so it really can get flustrating. Really. But in this case you can always find a walkthrough on YT. Aside from that - while in terms of graphics it really visibly aged, in terms of playability I'd say that it's really enjoyable. Not too short, not too long.

Half-life. Blue Shift: 9/10 - First of - Barney, my friend Barney! Second of - this one is really short BUT it's really fun. I feel like this one has more puzzles than HL too

Half-life. Opposing Force: 7/10 - The most flustrating of them all. Like. I've had enough so many times. But still, it was pretty fun when it wasn't being so tedious. Also I liked how many weapons you could use!

Half-life 2: 10/10 - Probably the best Half-life, no need to explain this rating. I loved the antlions. And the gravity gun? Iconic.

Okay so i gotta talk about Gen V ep 5 or am gonna explode!

And gotta talk about The Boys S4 spoilers for 2 reasons... 1) something mentioned by Dr Cardosa in the episode and 2) the VoughtHQ twitter leaker... mainly cuz am getting this after trying to check on a leak from season 4... their twitter also wont load for me... like can we just let Becca Saunders rest? First-- off congrats Marie and Jordan I hope you 2 get married and be the power couple this universe needs.

Second here its out Butcher cameo lol. I think this is from S1 after killing madelyn but seeing him in a beanie its so weird altho there is a Homelander article in the same page so who knows.

Third-- Cate you poor bitch!! I felt so betrayed but i dont doubt she its being brainwashed/groomed by Dean Shety so maybe she can be redeemed and her powers are too strong.... i dont doubt that there its a chance she its involved in who appears in ep 6 if thats not a halucination.

Fourth-- Dr. Cardosa mentioning a virus to deal with them... so i guess thats how we r gonna deal with the supe population and why i think the vought hq leak might be real as it mentions the virus as well... i think its super interesting that Vought its developing a virus to kill supes, i guess stan edgar did had a way to make V24 viable despite having supes and maybe a way to get rid of Homelander... by giving him the common cold i guess.

Fifth-- am glad that Maverick is another bisexual king but its the bestiality jokes necessary?? altho I assume his alpaca gf Sloane its just a shapeshifter. So far we got Marie, Jordan, Emma, Cate and Andre as our bisexual monarchs and thats basically the whole cast sans Sam... absolutely iconic Kripke, best apology after fucking up Dean Winchester but i wont forgive you for what u did... still thank you.

Sixth-- the pv for the next ep has fucking Soldier Boy!!! Deep down i feel he its most likely a halucination... saw some ppl theorizing that Cate its mindstorm daughter and she witnessed Mindstorm getting killed by SB so she will use her powers to send them to a mind prison to fight SB which is absurd but i doubt SB its there unless Cate's powers were use to brainwash soldier boy and use him as a weapon in the future, as his powers r too good plus is Vought wants to kill all supes then it makes sense for them to team up with the american govt and have SB as back up while they work with the Superona.

Seventh-- i only now noticed there its a wall poster for homie and loneliness on those school mental health ads which is sad and funny.

Eight-- overall great episode loved how much its happening and its only been days inside the canon, and fuck Rufus! How its the next 3 eps gonna kill me!! Like its too freaking much!!

And finally this shit...

I would not be surprised if this virus is the one being developed in The Woods by Vought, second if this is real then Butcher its a complete pos and a hypocrite i expect the following scenarios of: a) during the time Becca was raped or the wk she went missing thats when Butcher cheated on Becca so its not hatred that motivated his revenge against Homelander but guilt for cheating on his wife... probably with his married fbi plug if i had to take a guess. Or B) Becca learned of his affair decided to have her own affair with Homelander tried to end it which resulted in her S.A. which its why Homelander doesnt see what he did as rape bcuz i guess its not assault if its ur GF/Wife in his mind.

So in addition to re-watching Forever Knight, I'm also watching Highlander: The Series again. They're basically companion shows because they were on TV at about the same time and address many of the same themes, in addition to both being urban fantasies. Their fandoms were also populated by many of the same people.

I was hugely into Highlander for years and wrote fanfic and was in the fandom and was basically crazy for it, mostly because of Methos, the oldest immortal, but I was also watching it in a time pre-You Tube, pre-torrents, pre-everything. We all taped our favourite eps from tv, but most of us didn't tape the complete shows because that just wasn't feasible in terms of time, space, etc. But obviously at least a few people did, because the shows are online now even though they were never released on DVD (edit: FK was released much later, but as far as I know HL was not).

Anyway, one of the peculiar things about watching Highlander in the late nineties was that, although the show had just finished its original run, for some kind of licensing reason that was never entirely clear to me at the time, season one was never played in Canada. It might have originally been, but every replay of the show started with season 2, and I came in right around the time the show was wrapping up or just slightly after, so I never actually saw season one. This was frustrating to me, but since my favourite characters all come in after season 2 starts I didn't get too worked up about it or go to great lengths to view it. But it was a kind of itch that was was never scratched.

Fast-forward to 2022 and I found HL online, the complete series, including season one. I'm actually enjoying it a lot. MacLeod is a lot less of a pain in the ass, quite a bit more relaxed and less sanctimonious, not to mention not quite so 1 BILLION XP INVINCIBLE. Tessa is actually a lovely character. And Richie is very funny in his younger incarnation, with a lot of his rough edges still there.

The show itself still has some rough edges too, as the writers worked out exactly what the mythos was going to be. For example, the Gathering appears to be happening at the beginning of the show, and MacLeod is convinced that no immortal has long left to live, but that convinction appears to have faded even by season two, since it isn't mentioned again, to my recollection.

But my biggest surprise has been Darius, because Darius is a lot like Methos. He's a priest and Methos isn't, but Methos is a researcher hiding in a secret organization, which is quite similar. Darius, like Methos, is a very old man with a young face, not to mention a former warlord who converts to peace (via Light Quickening, which is very interesting, and I do wonder if that's why Duncan is quicker to forgive Darius his past than he was Methos, because Darius is in some ways an entirely different person, while Methos changed the hard way. That actually makes it more commendable, but the blame still belongs to him as well, and you know Duncan...).

Additionally, Darius is a mentor who can predict Duncan's failings before they happen (although less openly cynical than Methos, he clearly understands the way of the world) exactly as happens on multiple occasions with Methos. Both are people that Duncan looks up to and respects intensely. The only thing missing in the Duncan-Darius relationship is the more casual element of friendship (Methos works very hard to dispel Mac's initial awe, which really backfires later), and that homoerotic tension that was always present between MacLeod and Methos, but other than that... I get the feeling that the show was missing a mentor for Duncan and Methos fit the bill. But while he was clearly conceived as a Darius-remix, Methos is a lot more fun, and seemingly far more of a chameleon than Darius was, in terms of how much he changed over the centuries, as well as a kind of fluid gender identity that was never clearly stated but which was easy to perceive. And because of the nature of his own paradigm shift, which was not a supernatural event, you can still see many elements of darkness in Methos that are seemingly absent in Darius.

How did you feel about homelander and stormfront? I really wished we could see more of what stormfront was doing in that lab. But I think you’re the first person I’ve seen that likes homelander (outside of liking how he’s written as a character) I have great disdain for all of the seven except for the original noir. And I appreciated the responses you gave to my other questions regarding homelander! I’d love to hear what about him you think is appealing? I personally love Antony Starr I think he’s doing an amazing job portraying homelander and of course I love the nuances of the character

i also wish to see what else stormfront was doing in that lab, i would like them to maybe show more about that in the future although i must watch it again because i dont quite remember, maybe it had to do with what was going on in the lab in gen v (let me know if you saw it)? but i will watch those eps again to keep my mind fresh

and i never liked stormfront especially around homelander because she made him much worse, she pushed that evil side of him to such an extent that you see him in some scenes "impressed" with her actions and that's a lot to say about HL (like when she talks to ryan about racism towards white people 😭 and further distorting the reality of the facts to confuse ryan, this woman lol) and maybe it's hypocritical of me to say i don't like her when i like HL but i feel he can come up with charisma, for people on the outside who admire him and you as a viewer too, you can come to like him because he is charismatic (the smile, how he presents himself to others, the hypocrisy in terms of kindness, he is made for people to adore him) and I also love his twisted humor but I can't rescue anything about stormfront, she is so extreme and there is nothing about her character that I like. and like i said, her and homelander are just worse, but the sex my friend? 🤌🏼 i loved every single scene between them lol she just matcheted his freak so well, i know he misses her for that and to my understanding their relationship was especially based on that

im so curious now about what makes you like noir…its his story maybe…i feel like they didn't give us much of him but what they did give us was so meaningful and emotional and sad at the same time, what he had to go through to finally die like that

and baby lskdk i'll try to be as honest with you as possible, psychoanalyzing myself but not spreading myself too thin. antony plays a big part in me liking the character, if it was another actor it probably wouldn't have the same effect on me. so points for the face. out of that,

1) in the beginning i hated HL so much lmao the first season was just horrible, i couldn't watch him because i hated him, every trait of his personality was (is) horrible. same in season two, especially knowing what he did to butcher's wife that man had (has) to go down.

2) it all started in season three and soldier boy where they show us more of who homelander is, jhon. we meet his son and they show us of that more human side of him and that's when i realize the imperfections that the strongest man in the world has, in the end he is nothing but human, and there is nothing i love more than when they justify a villain correctly

3)dont get me wrong, i still hate him and i keep waiting for his downfall but he is still among my favorite characters of the boys because he seems to me such an interesting and complete character, his nuances, his complexity, his fears, his insecurities (i like how they work that little by little in the seasons) and what makes me love him with the same intensity i hate him, is how human he is deep down inside. his psychological problems and his need for affection seem so well achieved, and dealt with in the series that i am drawn to him. and the icing on the cake was that scene with barbara, his character is so well done chefs kiss mwah. it is so sad to see everything this kid had to go through, all he has known is terror so it is the only face he can show.

4)kinks. ✋🏼✋🏼 what can i say???? 👆🏼 homelander activates my predator prey kink + so many others. and a horny person can't think well their decisions 😞 and again, antony and his so good acting, hes so so so good, his facial expressions and tone of voice and aaaaand physique ofc plays a very important part.

In seguito, insieme a Valerio Nazo, fonda l’It’s Classic Studio, il quale, anche grazie a “It’s Classic Mixtape” vol. 1 e vol. 2, continua ad essere uno dei pezzi di storia dell’hip hop campano ancora attivi. Da qui in avanti sono tantissimi i prodotti rilasciati, e non mancano di certo riconoscimenti e certificazioni come il disco di platino per aver prodotto “A’ Verità”, brano di Rocco Hunt in partecipazione con Enzo Avitabile, nonché title track del secondo album dell’artista salernitano.
