Will they ever stop westsplaining? It's a shame that western commentators continue to routinely describe countries that were forced to spend a tiny fraction of their history as part of the Soviet Union, or the Soviet bloc, as "former Soviet" or "post-Soviet" or "ex-Soviet satellite" states, even though the USSR has been dead as a dodo for decades.
Strangely enough, you'll never see the same people referring to "the former Nazi state of Germany", or "America, the former slave-trading British colony", or even "Moscow, the former provincial Mongolian village".
Hopefully, condescending terms like "former Soviet", the stereotypes that go with them and the pernicious idea that these independent countries still somehow belong to "Russia's sphere of influence", will eventually disappear as they continue to develop and evolve, but I'm not holding my breath….

The Baltic Way, or Baltic Chain (also "Chain of Freedom") was a peaceful political demonstration that occurred on 23 August 1989.
Approximately two million people joined their hands to form a human chain spanning 690 kilometres (430 mi) across the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which at the time were occupied and annexed by the USSR. The central government in Moscow considered the three Baltic countries constituent republics of the Soviet Union.
The 1989 event was organised by the Baltic pro-independence movements: Rahvarinne of Estonia, the Tautas fronte of Latvia, and Sąjūdis of Lithuania, to draw global attention by demonstrating a popular desire for independence and showcasing solidarity among the three nations. It has been described as an effective publicity campaign, and an emotionally captivating and visually stunning scene.
The event presented an opportunity for the Baltic activists to publicise the Soviet rule and position the question of Baltic independence not only as a political matter, but also as a moral issue. The Soviet authorities responded to the event with intense rhetoric, but failed to take any constructive actions that could bridge the widening gap between the Baltic republics and the rest of the Soviet Union. Seven months after the protest Lithuania became the first Soviet republic to declare independence.

After the Revolutions of 1989, 23 August has become an official remembrance day both in the Baltic countries, in the European Union and in other countries, known as the Black Ribbon Day or as the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Spain signed a bilateral agreement on security cooperation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
According to the Presidential Administration, the agreement provides for €1 billion in military assistance to Ukraine through 2024, including, in particular, the provision of Patriot missiles and Leopard tanks for a total of €1.1 billion. The people of Ukraine feel enormous gratefulness for such immense and important support!
Also, we receive Spain support throughout the 10-year term of the document.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that by 2027, Spain would provide another €5 billion in aid through the European Peace Fund.

Vatniks and tankies can't get over the fact that Finland, the Baltic states and Poland still exist (and are much better off without Russia)…. They dream of the day when Russia will re-invade these countries, and if that ever happens you can bet your bottom dollar that vatnik and tankie clowns everywhere will be supporting the imperialism of Russia's ruling class, blaming the victims, mindlessely repeating the Kremlin's propaganda and cheerleading their war crimes from afar. That's one reason why vatniks and tankies also hate NATO, because joining NATO is what prevents Russia from invading….

I know some people are really bored of hearing about Ukraine, but please, listen to me here and now🙏🏼
Ukraine has a long-long history, beautiful indeed! Every country knew Rus’ as Rus’ and not anything else. After XVII and XVIII centuries everyone started to forget it because of moscowia’s plan to take over us.
So please, please, watch this short video to understand what we, as a nation, are trying to tell you about!
