#The boy and the heron #how do you live #studio ghibli #ghibli #in all honesty that movie was legitimately so fantastic and im like changed as a person #Story wise as well! It hits really hard if you know a bit about miyazaki and his legacy. Its a very personal movie i think #And you can feel it in every aspect #The eng dub voice actors were really good as well and the animation was beautiful as always #Also really loved the tone!!! The story really relied a bit on the use of negative space in both sound and pacing and i enjoyed that alot #in conclusion go read a article about miyazaki and his son and then go watch the movie it’s probably going to be one of my favorites #image id in alt

(also contrary to #the lyrics of Science Fiction/Double Feature‚ at no point does the titular Dr build 'a creature') but yeah anywa #anyway*‚ this was one of a very few films made with a pioneering two tone technicolor process that was quickly abandoned in the face of #public apathy; once considered a lost film‚ that version was found in the 80s and is now happily available in a beautiful restoration and i #gotta say it looks absolutely phenomenal‚ full of deep‚ ominous greens and purples. the plot is some hokum about a string of murders #possibly involving the good Dr (an as always impeccable Atwill‚ at the beginning of his all too brief run as a star) and his rogues gallery #of weirdy scientific associates. it's par for the course for early horror cinema‚ complete with mildly exasperating comic foil hero (but by #far not the worst example of the type) and some rather risqué dialogue that absolutely wouldn't have got past the code a few years on #could have done with more focus on the horror and less on the funny business but so it goes and at least the laboratory stuff looks amazing

Some people do kinda suck but I find a lot of joy in giving people really specifics compliments at my job and it makes their whole day sometimes c: 💛

#I had a very enthusiastic conversation about a lady’s hair and the way it was cut #she cut it herself!#I often like to tell some women that their purse is very nice and they’re usually very proud of their purses I’ve found #I will tell some people sometimes that the color of their shirt is so fitting for their skin tone and was a great choice that day #I expressed once to a customer that I loved the prints of his shirts and he came by one day in this one particular shirt #hoping I’d be there apparently because he wanted me to see the shirt because I love his style!#it’s so nice #I had a lady blushing once from head to toe because I said she looks like the perfect example of a woman #that face every artist draws for that reference #she was so beautiful #haha I like compliments on men’s facial hair too!#they’re proud of their facial hair a lot of the time #even soemthing as simple as they look amazing for their age which I’ve said many many times #like I said some people suck and I have yet to truly meet the bad eggs but man I just really like seeing them light up #when you compliment the littlest things they put hardly any effort into and think maybe nobody will even notice #I like pointing out those things

Like average looking but pretty enough, Celebrity pretty, Physically extremely beautiful BUT not as beautiful as the faeries, or just very beautiful and to humans a rare beauty but a different beauty from the faerie, etc…

truly i think she just looks so average (in a human sense)—which is not to say she isn't beautiful (i think every human is interesting and beautiful in their own way) but like. she's mortal in a world of faeries, which means her beauty is going to pale in comparison to the unearthly nature of her surroundings. i honestly don't love when people depict her as model-perfect—she's sleep-deprived, literally poisoning herself, and more concerned with making time for her daily workout than having perfect eyeliner. she sweats, musses her hair, tears her clothing, and wears pants even as queen for the sheer convenience

also, she's so buff. just a moderately short, absurdly buff, resting bitchface queen. i love her so much

now that i've taken in the entire show and am about to rewatch simply because i can............... i'm so pissed that dave erickson got fired because damn........

#i just think that s4 would have been insane.#i presume frank still would have wanted off the show and so naturally that chasm dave built between maddie and nick would've been... yea #idk- i think it would've been good tv. maybe. he doesn't talk too much on it but he says enough to give an impression.#i'm also inherently biased because he also said madison was the one character he saw making it all the way to the series finale #which ultimately. she does. but the story would have been much different for her. she would've felt More Madison #additionally.. of course there are characters born from the switch of writers that i'm glad we got and may otherwise have not got but....#i'd pay a pretty penny to have been able to see what dave had in store for the characters we had with us at the end of s3.#and to see what he would have done with 3b had he not wanted to wrap up certain loose ends of his creation before his departure.#the first 3 seasons of fear are the best ones. imo. for so many reasons. which i think had a lot to do with dave.#he separated ftwd from twd in big ways that i'm not going to get into but so much got jammed in s4-s8 that. it felt like the new writers #were mostly trying to pay homage to twd than to the characters and the story lines that made fear what it was. y'know.#the entire tone seemed to shift in the show. they subjected it to all the crazy time jumps. etc etc etc. which works in some ways on twd bu #they didn't do the same service to ftwd.#maybe that's just me.#dave Got the vision.#and i think it would've been really beautiful to get to see him ride it out (even if for another season or two)

the way i was so taken by konstantin’s twisted obsession with vasya for the first two books and how it culminated at the beginning of the third but then the second i got to Those book 3 scenes i was like. oh. like, i get why people are insane abt him and medved now. me too, even.

#i’ve said it many times and i don’t ship this man with anyone as he is cause he’s pathetic and so consumed by self-hatred but his dynamics #w vasya and medved are made so delicious by it. and its just so interesting that his hatred & desire for vasya set the tone #for other characters to read him like a book. kasyan asking how much he loves vasya and then saying hatred for her is the same in his case #and medved saying he’s not one to distinguish between monster and devil before he kisses him #and vasya looking at him looking at medved and thinking he sees a creature he loves and reviles just as he loves and reviles himself #he’s just soooo. i’m eating him <3 #also the way he sorta hates medved in that exasperated way but medved somehow loves him !? and is the only one to mourn him after !?#like yes his and vasyas mutual hatred is everything but also ‘he was mine. he was beautiful. he is gone. of course i mourn’ from a creature #who had initially made himself his god and then somehow ended up konstantin’s admirer. obsessed #the winternight trilogy #konstantin nikonovich #faera's
