sniffles snottily and loudly
so for one of Wolfie's earlier birthdays (but not actually that was the point of the episode it was a couple days off) in the first season
FT. Freddy got him an R2D2
and he would mention it around him occasionally
which is why the fact that the first birthday Wolfie had without FT. Freddy
being STAR WARS THEMED (from what i remember)
despite him not ONCE (OR AT LEAST AT A VERY MINUSCULE AMOUNT) mentioning enjoying it before that
is so agonizing
one of Wolfie’s most portrayed interests in season 2
is related to someone he cared about whom he lost

Good evening, I saw this and my brain just ran with it.
I am no longer driving the train, I am along for the ride and we'll all see where it goes.
SO
WHAT IF
STAY WITH ME HERE
S. Q. and Constance are related.
This would mean many, many things, as well as the narrative parallels of them being adopted by the Benedict siblings, them being biological cousins, and the other point of them corresponding with the opposite twin. This would also mean that S. Q. could have psychic powers.
Now, here's where we get to the bit about the "George" bird. It is a common idea that psychics and people who experience visions use art as a focus and means of expression. This bird seems to be a blue jay:
Tumblr media
Blue jays are known for "their intelligence and complex social systems with tight family bonds", and have even been known on occasion to use tools. Which member of our favorite child espionage quartet does that sound like?
Sticky had only recently arrived on the island, and so S. Q. had probably seen and heard of him a little bit, but not that much. His dad may have mentioned him, and it's possible he had caught a glimpse when he was walking around, but he certainly didn't know him by sight or well at all.
I propose that S. Q. getting names and careers from "just look[ing] at them for a while" is him getting a sense for the person who he is perceiving psychically. When Sticky came on the island, S. Q. likely didn't take that much notice; there are new kids enrolling all of the time, and as at least some of them were kidnapped, he probably got good at (even subconsciously) tuning them out due to all the confusion and noise they created. But, when the kids sent by Mr. Benedict began piquing Curtain's interest, and especially with Reynie about to come in (and with Reynie's close ties to Sticky), Sticky began coming to the forefront of S. Q.'s senses.
I seriously doubt Curtain has talked to S. Q. about any of this, because of how controlling and scared he is, even though he most certainly knew about it. Maybe he got the idea for the Whisperer from S. Q. When he was a baby, and didn't have as good control of his powers, maybe he started accidentally influencing Curtain with his wants and needs. Curtain found himself spending a lot more time with his son, time he didn't think he had. He began holding S. Q. more, and sometimes carrying him into meetings if he fell asleep in his arms. Of course, Curtain takes great pride in being aware of himself and his mental state, so he begins to notice this. Eventually, he notes the connection between these ideas that didn't seem to be his own and his child's wants. It comes to him all at once that 1) S. Q. is most definitely supernaturally gifted, and 2) It took weeks for Curtain to notice because of how different S. Q.'s thoughts were. Now that he was aware, he was able to clearly see how unobtrusive and soft a child's thoughts were when compared to his own. This is where the concept for the Whisperer began.
As he grew, all of S. Q.'s actions and the effect on those around him were closely monitored. Curtain was careful to do this without his son's knowledge, and ran many different tests on him under the guise of different "tutors". Eventually, when he had enough information, he shut S. Q. off from the rest of the world. He had begun to notice that the emotions and judgements of other people had an effect on S. Q. just as much as his thoughts had on them. The child was incredibly sensitive, and since he was raised in such a controlled environment he didn't develop any of the natural defense mechanisms that Constance did. Curtain also made a (misguided) attempt to keep himself even more emotionless and serene when he was around S. Q. so as to try and protect him. In reality, this just made S. Q. more confused because he could always tell when his dad was upset, but it was so distant that he wasn't really aware of it and it turned into him being constantly concerned with whether or not his dad was unhappy with him, or if he was just being paranoid. Curtain kept S. Q. away from any of his work, partly because he was afraid of what it would do to the child, and partly because he was afraid of what his son would say if he knew. This was the origin of the strict rules around visiting the forest, and also the rules about S. Q. being around the other Institute students.
The limited contact he had with his father's staff and the occasional student weren't enough to overwhelm him, but as S. Q. grew up his powers grew stronger (remember, he's a lot older than Constance), and since Curtain deliberately avoided teaching him anything about controlling or understanding them, being around too many other people quickly overwhelmed him. His personality was shy enough that he wouldn't influence others' thoughts, except for his own introvertedness causing them to largely ignore and forget him. He hated having to talk to people, in reality the majority of it was how overloading they were, but his discomfort encouraged any students he happened to be around not to register his presence, and anyone who entered his father's office to pay him no mind. Except for Reynie. Reynie was so attentive and caring that S. Q. immediately sensed he was genuine, and so lowered his guard, allowing Reynie to notice and interact with him. This is also why he believed Reynie even though the kid is terrible at lying; a little bit of it was naivety, but most of it was that he knew Reynie truly wanted to be his friend, even though he also needed to use him.
This is also why he didn't tell Curtain about Reynie being a spy. He was upset, but he still knew that Reynie was telling the truth about the Emergency, and that he was honestly full of regret for lying to him. When Mr. Benedict confronts Curtain in the Whispering Gallery, and he mentions that he "should have expected" Constance being psychic, he is alluding to S. Q. and how he should have known from seeing Constance's strange actions and the way that she destroyed the Whisperer. Eventually, when S. Q. leaves the Institute and ends up with the Benedicts (because it's my version of events and I say so) he is extremely overwhelmed by all of the people and all of the emotions going on. Initially, when he explains himself and Mr. Benedict passes out due to the pure joy of meeting his nephew, his ambient emotion knocks S. Q. out too. But, eventually, and with a lot of help from his new family members, he learns about his skills. Ironically, despite being older and technically more powerful and developed, Constance is the one who teaches him the most. She has had more practical experience with being psychic, and is therefore the authority on the subject.
idk i guess i just find it strange that the one bird we see SQ draw and name just happens to have the same name as one of the main characters (george). idk maybe it just makes me want to theorize that SQ knows a whole lot more than he lets on. idk…

❖ You leap through the time to some dynasty and found yourself in the dark forest sunlight scatting through the leaves, on waking up you saw yourself surrounded by some men, the look on their faces made you feel some kind of outsider. They were dressed in traditional wear layers of clothes warped around them secured with leather belts, long hairs, head decorated with pretty accessories.
❖A man came forward glaring, your clothing style made them even more suspicious of you " What is your name? Who sent you here?", Starling you with his strict voice pointing a beautifully crafted weapon yet deadly in your direction that you assumed was sword. "Is this some kind of sick joke, some social experiment Hahah I ain't falling for this", you shouted looking around you for hidden cameras where are they? Other than that, it's illegal to bring people without their consent.
❖"Stop fooling around answer or die" something in his voice told you this all wasn't a joke as he put his sword near your neck. You cut your skin slightly in the attempts to push the sword away realizing it's not a play. "Do you wanna die so much?, General she doesn't look like an assassin", a young looking guy came forward, "Suspicious, everything about her is suspicious, her words, her clothes, her etiquettes, which country are you from?", Everything felt wrong you took a step back ready to run for your life while they argued with each other.
❖Your heartbeat accelerated as you ran faster than anything to save your ownself, curiously you turned your head and saw an arrow shooted towards you, subconsciously a scream left your mouth before you were pinned by the sharped arrow on the woods. "How bold are you?", General guy mocked you already on his way to grab your neck.
❖"Stop what's is this chaos for?", A deep commanding voice stopped him, he kneel down and bowed followed by all the other guys. "A sceptical girl has appeared, your majesty", he reported to the tall man dressed in all the luxury who made eye contact with yours, you adverted your eyes not wanting to offend these dangerous men after glaring at him. "Is this?", The man bend down and grabbed your chin to get a full view of your face, to find out from where you are.
"I believe people don't want to die unreasonable deaths I will ask you once where are you from?",
 "I am from South",
❖You lied through your teeth making an innocent face these sharp men, hopping to not get caughted by them, his face held a cold expression clearly not showing whatever is going in his mind. "South? From felecoia island?, You hurriedly nodded your head after all you wanted was to get away from them and find your way back. "Why are you here?", "Work I need money to eat", you babbled out anything that could at least save you from his threatening presence. He was surprised, your clothing did amused him, even tho your speaking lacked manners according to the era.

Tumblr media
❖You were forced on Emperor Zhongli's laps reminiscing, if you would have not said the things that you said would you be somewhere else in life, why did it ended up like this?. "What are you thinking about? Today is my birthday, you should be enjoying", he said playing with your silky hair,  you looked at the other side of the hall court officials drinking wine, enjoying, young girls dancing who were selected by the empress dowager so that Emperor Zhongli could choose one of them to be his wife or concubines on his birthday as gift, girls of powerful and influence families, beautiful and perfect in literature were dressed in a seductive way to win Emperor's heart but here he is looking at you with his heart eyes demanding your affection.
❖His face buried in your shoulders leaving kisses and smelling your intoxicating smell that always manages to calm him down, as you try pushing his body away with your hands that he took in his slowly intertwing, pulling your form closer, his left hands encircled your waist as he deepens the kiss running with passion as if he wants you to feel all his love towards you, his overwhelming love and desire that he can't hold back. Noble women looks at you with envy warning you to not get closer to the guy that they love.
❖Zhongli holds your hand to make you walk along side with him which was not done by any other Emperor before. Zhongli knows its wrong but he wants you to love him, piecing pain passes through his heart whenever you say you won't love him, leaving him at the verse of crying. Sometimes his love, loneliness, caring and gentle personality towards you melts your heart but his tendency to get jealous easily in small things makes you think otherwise seeing you pet an animal, he pushes it way and put his head in your lap asking you to caress his hair instead, trying to keep you closer to him all time and hugs you without your consent, making you think maybe it's a good choice to stay with him since you are not able to find your way back home.
❖Whenever you mention your timeline he holds you tight in his embrace afraid to let go so that you won't disappear. Zhongli do not show you his darker side, killing officials or their daughters and maids who plot against you on the spot, cutting their wives, husbands, concubines, sons and daughters' tongue but he isn't afraid to show you his clingingness, holding you down in his bed with him and making you his hugging pillow, trying to win your affection by showing you his pityfull and pathetic, lonely self. Surprising you that the most powerful Emperor who won each battles and states kneel infront of you begs and threatens you to love him.
Tumblr media
❖You remember the time when you said, you liked cherry blossoms in one of your friendly lunches with Emperor, the next day you saw your backyard filled with exotic beautiful cherry blossoms trees making your jaw drop, unbelievable how did he managed to do such thing.
Tumblr media
❖"My lady do you like it?, it's specially designed for you, each patterns are threaded perfectly, Royal tailors had spent sleepless nights to make this masterpiece asked by the Emperor", a representative tailor girl said as she carefully put the luxurious red robe around you looking for some mistaken errors trying not to displease the ruthless Emperor. Suddenly guards announced his arrival which caused head maids to retreat back, bow down and leave the chamber immediately as Zhongli springed towards you, trapping you in a hug.
❖"You look so beautiful my Empress, this should be enough", you tried to moved away from him "Empress who?, I am not any Empress", Zhongli poked your cheeks "Quit joking my love", he walked around you and stopped behind you causing you to be nervous who knows what he is planning?, Zhongli caressed your back or rather the pattern design, thread made of gold, it's Dragon's symbol which symbolizes protection, power, luck and wisdom most importantly possession of Emperor, with this on, no one will dare to come closer to you or lay their eyes on you and disrespecting you would be equal to violating Emperor's order, the punishment served will be execution, it's a simple warning to everyone.
Tumblr media
❖Zhongli's touch caused you to jump and due to reflex you turned around to look at him, just what is this man thinking?. Zhongli grabbed your right wrist and pulled you to him making you clash against his hard toned chest, he affectionately caressed your left cheeks too drunk in your view to realize your struggles and kissed your right cheek lovingly before whispering in your ears with his deep husky voice a templating offer, "Be mine, let me love you and I will give everything you want, you are the only one I need, I am not asking much, my Goddess please be kind to me, grant me the chance to get your love, your precious than any treasure I own", before enveloping you in a desperate hug.
❖When he hugs you so affectionately but securely telling you how much he loves you that he can kill anyone, forcing you to promise that you will never leave his side whenever he finds out about your escape attempts from the shadow guards, dangerous then any other trained soldier who were assigned to guard you more like to prevent you from escaping, no wonder you always get caughted some or the other way each time you try.
❖You where gazing at all the other princes ( Emperor's brothers) gathered in imperial garden who knew they looked so handsome when Zhongli turned your face towards him by holding your chin with his index fingers " Your Highness.....what?", his angry face scared you after all he can execute anyone he wants "Go inside and wait for me", stealing a delicious view away from you "But", "Show her way inside", he commanded your maids who draged you inside.
"You should be my concubine"
"No way I will never share my husband with anyone I want to be his only wife and him to be my only husband".
❖You smiled to yourself satisfyingly he got no chance other than to leave you but instead of seeing a disappointed Zhongli you saw a blushing Zhongli, his Chief assistant was shocked who immediately turned his head in some other direction to not get his eyes plug out by the tyrant.
❖"How can I be so stupid, you shall be my only wife and be mine forever I shall be yours forever my dear wife", Zhongli said taking your left hand in his long pretty muscular hands and kissed your ring finger as your smile disappeared realizing that you digged your own grave.

Danger First
Chapter 3
@pocketramblr (also please let me know if you would like me to stop tagging you on these, I don't want to be annoying. :))
"WAIT!" shouted Nana abruptly, as Izuku was talking to his (weirdo) teacher. "I know who that is! Quick, get ready to turn everything off!"
"Turn what off?" asked En. "We live in a formless mental void. We don't even have electricity."
"The quirk! That's Eraserhead!"
"Oh, yeah," said Yoichi, while everyone else (sans Second and Third) scrambled to grab onto the quirk. "I remember Eight meeting him, now! So, he's a teacher, huh?"
"How do all of you forget the one person who might be capable of one-shotting All for One?" demanded Nana.
"Doesn't his quirk not work on mutations?"
"Stop daydreaming and get over here, Yoichi!"
The quirkspace began to glow faintly, ominously red, and the ghosts pulled hard on the quirk, holding it temporarily out of Izuku's reach.
Then, the red glow abated and they dropped it back into place.
"Well, that was exhausting," said Banjo. "So, we'll have to be constantly ready for that, huh?"
"As long as he's around, yeah," said Nana.
"Why did we just do that, anyway?" asked En.
"So we can continue to masquerade as a normal, non-haunted quirk?"
"We could have just let him think he didn't have a quirk, or that the anxiety-"
"Super anxiety."
"-isn't part of it."
Yoichi gasped, as if scandalized. "You'd want us to lie to Izuku?"
"Okay, seriously, what is up with you and Nine?" asked En.
Despite not having a body, Yoichi began to visibly sweat. "Nothing, nothing at all. I just... think he's neat?"
"If you're going to lie to us, can you not do it with archaeomemes?" asked Nana.
"No, no, actually, I can get behind this," said En. "Would you say Izuku has... vibes?"
Yoichi nodded solemnly.
.
"Young Midoriya!"
Izuku shrieked and jumped back from the sudden sound as All Might suddenly emerged from an otherwise innocuous bush.
Both of them froze, staring at each other.
"Are you..." said All Might, hesitantly, sounding much more like he did in his small form than usual, "alright?"
"I... think so?"
"That's good, then." All Might coughed slightly into his fist. "I was wondering if you had a few minutes."
"Of- of course!" said Izuku, immediately.
"Then allow me to lead the way!"
All Might led him through a door labeled 'staff only' and immediately deflated. "All the staff know about my condition," explained Mr. Yagi.
Izuku nodded. Then a thought occurred to him. "Mr. Yagi?"
"Yes, my boy?"
"Why, um, why don't you teach, um, as Mr. Yagi? Instead of as All Might? Wouldn't it save your time?"
Mr. Yagi stopped and scratched his head. "I hadn't really thought about it before," he admitted. "But part of the reason I took this job, other than wanting to help train the next generation of heroes, of course, is that I want to get people used to the idea that I am going to retire." He tugged on one of his bangs. "Also, ah, I'm not sure if my qualifications to teach are quite up to par without my reputation."
"I'm sure it would be fine! You're the best, after all!"
Mr. Yagi chuckled. "I'm glad you think so," he said. Then he reached behind him and opened a door. "In any case: my office."
"Wow," said Izuku, quietly, stepping in. "All Might's office..." Who knew when he'd get another opportunity like this again? He kept his eyes wide to drink in the details.
The rather sparse details. The office was rather bare. Which made sense, seeing as All Might was a brand-new teacher. It was sort of... disappointing, as thrilling as it was.
Mr. Yagi sat down behind the desk and gestured for Izuku to take one of the other chairs. It had a lot of cushioning. A lot a lot. Izuku sank down into the fluff as Mr. Yagi fiddled with a drawer on his desk. He got the drawer open, and pulled out a notebook. A notebook of the same brand Izuku liked to use, actually.
"Since your experiences with One for All are so different from mine, I thought it might be a good idea to do some research into past holders and take a leaf out of your notebook, as it were." He passed the notebook over to Izuku, who took it with shaking hands and a slightly open mouth.
"I'll treasure it," he declared, voice wobbling.
"Not so much that you don't use it, I hope," said Mr. Yagi. "As it is, it's only an overview. The earlier holders, especially, don't have many records associated with them. Consider it a starting point. I haven't had much time to work on it."
"I can't believe you found the time to write this at all," said Izuku, flipping through the pages. The information was sparse, but each holder had a basic profile, all the way back to the fourth. "I mean, between being a hero, training me, and preparing to be a teacher, I'm stunned nothing fell by the wayside!"
Mr. Yagi proceeded to turn a very interesting color.
"Uh, nothing fell by the wayside, right?"
"Why don't you take a few minutes to skim through. If anything jumps out at you right away, we can talk about it. And then I'll let you go get changed and go home, and we can discuss more later, after you've had more time with it."
"Okay!" said Izuku. He'd start with just the basic profiles. Name, date of birth, date of death, quirk... wait, those ages... "They all died young," he said, softly.
"Hero work is dangerous," said Mr. Yagi, hand going to his side.
"There's something else, isn't there?"
"Not something you need to worry about. I took care of it, years ago." The hand holding his side spasmed slightly.
"... Six years ago?" asked Izuku, aware he was pushing his luck. But this sounded both important and relevant.
There was a long pause. "Yes," said All Might, finally. "A villain with a longevity quirk. He... had a history with the first user."
Izuku got the feeling that was an understatement. It also seemed unlikely that the only application of the villain's quirk was longevity, given what he'd done to All Might. But the subject was clearly making All Might uncomfortable, so he dropped it in favor of burying his nose in the notebook again.
(Social fumbles aside, this was the most secure Izuku had felt for... a while.)
"The sixth user had a smoke quirk?"
"Yes, it seems so. Although it doesn't seem to have been actual smoke, but a biological compound."
"I wonder if that has anything to do with all the steam you release when you deflate. Actually..." he flipped back through the quirk. "I wonder if you're using Float, too, subconsciously, when you jump."
"What?"
"I- I mean," said Izuku, "I noticed, when, um, when I grabbed your ankle and also in videos of you- Your hang time is kind of messed up? You're in the air for longer than you should be, but it isn't, like, consistent? Plus, you can change direction mid-air, which I thought was because you were shooting out blasts of air pressure with your quirk, but with me on your ankle, you definitely didn't do that. There was- there was a forum I was on where some people thought your quirk tapped into magnetic fields, somehow, but that doesn't make any sense, because you'd expect a lot more electronic interference and that similar locations would produce similar results, given the Earth's magnetic field, but they don't. But subconscious, low-level use of a telekinesis-based flying quirk would explain everything. If we take into account what you said about my anxiety after the entrance exam, then that's minor expressions of three out of four of the quirks listed here, not counting the base stockpile and enhancement quirk. Do you think the unknown quirks of the second and third users might have partially manifested for you as well? Have you experienced anything else that's atypical for a strength enhancement quirk?"
Mr. Yagi stared at Izuku.
Oh, no, he'd gone too far.
"Nothing immediately comes to mind, my boy," he said, faintly. "But... magnets? Really?"
"I told you it didn't make any sense."
Mr. Yagi rubbed his chin. "There might be something, but... it's too unclear to say either way. I'll keep an eye out. It's just... a lot to take in. I thought One for All was done surprising me."
"When has it surprised you before?"
"Oh, under the influence of certain mental quirks, you can wind up hallucinating the previous users."
"Hallucinating?"
"Yes. But being under the influence of a mental quirk is always the larger issue, so..."
"Mr. Yagi," said Izuku. "That's really the kind of thing you should let people know about up front."
"I- is it?"
.
The ghosts all stared at Nana.
"Hey, don't blame this on me! None of us explained that kind of stuff before passing One for All on."
"In our defense," said En, half raising a hand, "we were usually dying when we passed it on."
"More importantly," said Hikage, "do you think Ninth is right about the quirks?"
"It would make sense," mused Yoichi. "Although then we'd have to wonder why Blackwhip didn't manifest similarly."
"Is it too much for me to get someone to use my quirk? My extremely awesome quirk, that has no downsides?"
"It is powered almost exclusively by rage."
"No downsides."
"You-"
"No. Downsides."
.
Aizawa passed him an envelope labeled 'quirk counseling' along with the standard schedule and orientation packet he was handing to everyone else. It didn't look like any of his class mates had noticed, though, for which Izuku was grateful. He didn't want to be known as a weirdo who didn't know what his own quirk was.
He heavily suspected he was tapping into Danger Sense, somehow, but he didn't know how, and the fourth user of One for All had lived so long ago there weren't any records of him. Not easily and publicly available. Everything Mr. Yagi had written in his notebook (that Izuku had probably stayed up way too late reading... and texting Mr. Yagi about it... and comparing it to his notes... and texting Mr. Yagi about that... and reviewing old All Might compilations and theory threads... and having Mr. Yagi threaten to call his mom if he didn't go to sleep...) about the fourth user had been retrieved from the journals Mr. Yagi's mentor had passed down, according to one of the source notes in the margin.
(Mr. Yagi had really neat, small handwriting, which Izuku wouldn't have ever expected from his large, dramatic signatures as All Might, and his notes were meticulous and carefully cited. If Izuku didn't know better, he would have thought it belonged to a secretary.)
But despite Izuku's suspicions, he didn't actually know. He didn't know it's range, what it defined as danger, whether or not it 'ranked' dangers, how to distinguish it from normal anxiety, or- Well. Anything, really. And he would really like to.
He opened the envelope quietly. Inside was a handwritten note instructing him to pick one of three schedules for quirk counseling and return it to Aizawa by the end of the day. The other pages were printed, with times and possible locations. Options for both before and after the school day.
Izuku felt his eyes tearing up. This was easily the nicest thing a teacher had ever done for him... Although he was nervous about being alone with Aizawa. Some of his other teachers, when they asked him to stay after class it was... not good.
Nothing bad happened, not like in movies or TV shows or the awareness videos the school had shown sometimes. The teachers didn't hurt him, really, didn't do anything to him, other than talk or yell, mostly, but it still wasn't good.
Maybe he could ask Mr. Yagi or Recovery Girl to sit in... But he already felt bad, taking up so much of their time.
He picked one of the after school schedules. He was already staying late on the other days to work with Mr. Yagi, and if something did go wrong, he wanted to have the night to recover before he had to face Aizawa again in class.
He put it to the side, so he'd remember to give it to Aizawa before he left, then looked over the class schedule. Homeroom, Math, Hero Art History, History, and English in the morning. At least this morning. The history classes alternated with something called Heroics-Applied Science and Hero Law and Ethics. Afternoons, meanwhile, were entirely occupied by Hero Basic Training.
And every class would be taught by a pro hero. He wondered if it would be rude to ask for their autographs...
.
Shouta grunted as Hizashi flopped down onto the couch next to him on the couch in the staff breakroom. "What a morning! I just love seeing all those bright little faces at the beginning of the year. Anyone have a favorite first year yet?"
Shouta kicked Hizashi through his sleeping bag. Sadly, this had no effect on the man.
"I think mine might be the little green guy. He's the only one who was actually paying attention, and you know how rare that is, when everyone is anticipating their first heroics lesson. The rest of us just pale in comparison."
Shouta attempted to kick Hizashi again, this time for an entirely different reason. Midoriya was already All Might's favorite (probably)- he did not need more pull with the staff.
"I know who my least favorite is," said Kan. "Kid's certainly dedicated and competitive, but I wouldn't be surprised if he threatened his middle school teachers into giving him those glowing reviews. His personality needs a lot of work. How did you get Nezu to saddle me with Bakugo, anyway, Eraser?"
"I had nothing to do with it."
"Don't give me that, I was going to have Monoma. At least he's a team player."
"You're being illogical," said Shouta, zipping his sleeping bag closed over his face.
"How about you, Nemuri?" asked Hizashi, cutting off Vlad King vs Eraserhead round five hundred.
"It's hard to choose! They're all so cute and eager! Full of the passion of youth! I think they're all my favorite."
"You always say that..."
The door opened and closed.
"All Might! What about you? Any favorites yet?"
Yagi coughed. "I've only had the one class of third years so far. Don't you think that's rather... premature?"
What an incredible nonanswer.
"How did that first class of yours go, anyway? They didn't sour you to the whole idea of teaching, did they?"
"Not at all! The students were wonderful. The third years are very advanced, aren't they? For some of them, I wouldn't be shocked to see that skill level on an active sidekick."
"What can I say? We start them off right," crowed Hizashi.
"They did seem a little surprised by the scenario, however."
"So was I, t'be honest," said Snipe, who was in charge of the third years.
"Ah, was it no good...?"
"It was fine. Lesson plan was a bit rough around the edges, but you and Nezu'll be goin' over that later. But... quirk traffickin' doesn't quite seem like your thing."
"Ah, well, set-pieces," he said, using the slightly derisive underground slang for large-scale spotlight hero battles, "may be what I'm known for, but before my injury, the majority of my battles and investigations weren't publicized."
"Shield laws?" asked Nemuri.
"Generally, yes, but some of the investigations were tied to others, so we were using the organized crime secrecy laws to keep those under wraps. Simply put, my popularity isn't the only reason I keep the number one spot despite Endeavor having more completed cases than me on paper."
Shouta had known there was more to All Might than 'punchy, over-the-top, eyestrain-causing, bombastic muscle guy,' but part of his stupid, illogical brain was annoyed at Yagi for pummeling that image into imaginary dust, anyway. It seemed like the man's only two flaws were horrible interpersonal skills when not using his public persona, and his vast suite of health issues, the latter of which all heroes who operated long enough picked up.
Oh, and a possible inclination towards bribery.
Made it hard to dislike him, which Shouta wanted to do, because he was loud, flashy, and gave him headaches, literal and metaphorical. He ignored the fact that Hizashi was the same way, and had forcibly become Shouta's best friend. Clearly, there was no connection here.
"By the way, why is young Aizawa completely zipped in like that?"
"Nap time," said Hizashi, solemnly.
.
"Sir?" said Iida, raising his hand.
"Yes, young man?" boomed All Might.
"There are nineteen of us. How are we handling the odd person out?"
"Excellent question! In other exercises, we may handle it differently, but for today, one of you will be working alone! Occasionally, a hero may find themselves isolated when they originally expected help. However, for better balance, I have also arranged it so the odd hero out will be taking part in the last battle, so you'll have more time to strategize!"
But the other team would also have more time to strategize, Izuku noted. He really hoped it wouldn't be him... not that he wanted to force it on any if his classmates! He just didn't want yet another handicap on the first day of training.
All Might walked around with the box of ballots, pausing for each student to take one. He reached Izuku and held the box out to him with a wink. Izuku smiled back, reached in, and grabbed one.
A chill ran up his back and he froze, fingers wrapped tightly around the little ball. Something told him this was definitely the cursed, single-person ballot. Could he let it go? Would it be considered cheating if he picked a new one?
But All Might was already walking away. Every part of his body tense, Izuku turned his hand over and forced his fingers apart.
J.
The tenth character of the Latin alphabet. For the tenth, last, team.
He watched as everyone else started to pair up, and All Might looked at him apologetically.
Izuku approximated a smile. Plus ultra, right?

Kill Your Darlings: An Analysis of its Twists and Themes
A few days ago, I watched Kill Your Darlings, and needless to say, I became completely mesmerized by it. Naturally credible characters with well-crafted backstories portraying a true story of Love, Obsession and Murder, it's everything a person could ask for in a movie. The colour palette of the movie radiates comfort and the sound track takes you back in time when these two bright young men were falling in love. Right from the start it was apparent that there were many themes in the undercurrent of the movie, and these were such that required some amount of thoughtful contemplation. And I was incredibly sorry to not find any post or review which critically discussed the themes of the movie and did it justice- so after doing some reading and digging up as much as I could, here I am making an attempt to analyze the twists and themes of the story.
The Crucial Plot-twist
Tumblr media
The Night In Question- why the movie's recounting of the events is fictitious:
When faced with the prospect of writing the deposition for Lucian, Allen tried his best to gather information about the events that led to David's murder. However, it proved to be a difficult feat as Lucien himself would not speak much about it clearly. So he pieced together what he could from the bits of information he got. However, we see Lucian vehemently opposing the deposition written by Allen and claiming it to be false. After some thought, I find that I believe Lucian's claims. Most of the following arguments are rooted in the fact that Lucien's relationship with David was an abusive one, where David basically groomed Lucian and was a sexual predator. I suggest reading my post here to gain more insight about how the abuse affected him.
"You weren't there, you don't know what happened." These words right here- they're the words of a victim. Being subjected to a form of sexual abuse myself, I found these words hitting me like a brick ton. These are words coming from a pained soul that refuses to recount traumatic incidents. He's practically saying that the abuse was so bad he had to kill his abuser to be free from it.
Even after Allen saw first-hand what a total creep David could be, even after knowing the man had stalked Lucian across multiple cities, he had to ask Lucian why the latter killed David when he "could have run". This tells me he couldn't exactly relate to Lucian's situation and wasn't very keen on believing him. Although he displayed a moment of intimate affection, there's still a lingering feeling of yeah but he broke my heart inside him. After learning how Lucian drowned David, he even begins questioning if he should help him at all. At this point, Allen doesn't trust Lucian enough to actually care how accurate the story is. So he wrote what he could, what he felt right. But even he couldn't condemn his friend/first love to such a fate as prison, so eventually he submitted it as his final paper. In all honesty, I thought that turning it in was a brilliant move, and one which also further proved that the "once you loved him too" version was mostly fanciful fiction.
Throughout the movie, sequences have been played in reverse frames (and I found this so pleasing) and from the nitrogen-inhaling scene, we know that these sequences designated memories playing out in Allen's head or his subconscious creating dreamscapes. And here's the catch- the entire scene of Lucian taking a walk with David and eventually killing him began with frames played in reverse order. This gives the absolute proof that the movie's depiction of the events were fictitious.
Allen's P.O.V. of the events mainly relied on the argument that at some point, Lucian genuinely loved and needed David. This couldn't be further away from the truth. When you're 14 and and being groomed and coaxed by an older guy, a lot many things could feel like love because you haven't experienced them before; but in reality, it's never love, it just is another form of violence.
Themes running through the movie
Tumblr media
"There can be no Creation before Imitation"
We see Professor Steves saying this at the beginning of the movie, hinting that it would be a theme in the story. This statement is reflected throughout Allen's progression and development as a poet:
In the beginning, we see him being hugely influenced by his father's works and possibly trying to imitate him through poetic devices such as consonance.
Next, we see him imitating Professor Stevens' style of writing in his poem "the rose that scents the evening air, grows from by beloved's hair" which Lucian outright criticizes.
It is only with the poem Allen recites to Lucian on the boat that he starts developing some sort of originality. That poem in particular is directly drawn from his personal experiences and delivers splendidly.
This development continues as he proceeds to write "The Night In Question" wherein he brilliantly describes his opinion of how things went down. It was this streak that would eventually propel him to write his most celebrated poem, "Howl".
Tumblr media
The Circle of Life and How Allen Breaks it
We see Lucian telling Allen how "Life is only interesting if it is wide" and about Yeats' "Circle of Life". As displayed by the linked document, turns out the circle of life is quite complex a thing, and the movie displays a lay-man's version of it. As Lucian tells about it to Allen, unbeknownst to them both, Allen also enters the circle and changes the turn of events:
It is obvious that at the party at David's, Allen was a misfit. David even goes so far as to literally call him out and point how unremarkable he was, but says how given the correct circumstances, even Allen could change things. And what's extraordinary is exactly this happens next: the liquor runs out in David's party and Allen suggests they should change the venue of the party- hence hijacking David's party!
We see Allen's life widen as he becomes closer to Lucian and starts doing things he'd never done before. At the same time, he also plays an important role in changing Lucian's life as well. It's Allen who suggests at first that Lucian should break up with David and stop taking his help. Later in the movie, after learning about David's obsessive behaviour, it's again Allen that said "we should get rid of him". Again, here we see some foreshadowing. Allen could have worded it in any probable way, and yet he suggested getting rid of David which subtly implied killing him. I do believe that this happened to become a subliminal suggestion to Lucian and furthered his murderous intent.
Hence, although Lucian radically changes Allen's life, the latter does so too in unlikely and unexpected ways.
Tumblr media
Sacrifices (and Rituals?)
Since the beginning of the movie, we know that the characters are all extraordinary men and that they are capable of something revolutionary. But it was apparent that all of them would need a catalyst to set things in motion- a sacrifice of some sort which would help them break their moulds and free their inner poet. Allen's love for Lucian and his wish to impress him did make him work toward become better at writing. It was the fear of completely losing Lucian to Jack that made Allen put all his effort into writing, and made him come up with his best work yet - here, the fear acted as the catalyst.
However, the most significant thing in connection to this happened in this scene where Lucian cuts both of their palms and holds them up together - this can be considered a Blood Ritual.
"A blood ritual is any ritual that involves the intentional release of blood. Blood rituals often involve a symbolic death and rebirth, as literal bodily birth involves bleeding. Basic to both animal and human sacrifice is the recognition of blood as the sacred life force in man and beast. The participants may regard the release of blood as producing energy useful as a sexual, healing, or mental stimulus. In other cases, blood is a primary component as the sacrifice, or material component for a spell."
The fact that this event took place inside Allen's head during a trippy session outlines how Allen had subconsciously taken a blood oath with Lucian to further The New Vision. This process of developing their revolutionary ideas would successfully progress for the rest of the movie; however, before its completion, the oath demanded a sacrifice- and the murder of David became this blood sacrifice.
Tumblr media
"With Death comes Rebirth"
In the first half of the movie we see the initiation of this theme; after they've agreed upon to bring up something revolutionary, Allen talks about how rebirth comes only after death, and in their naivety, they play out a pseudo-suicide scene to imitate death. Little did they know greater sacrifices would have to be made. Eventually as events play out, we come to realise that it is David's death that became the cause and medium for their rebirth- both academic and intra-personal. Jack and Bill co-wrote the book "And the Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks" about the murder of David Kammerer, and eventually rose to fame, while Allen became popular with "Howl and Other Poems", none of which could have been initiated/inspired without David's death. As for their personal growth, none of them were the same as they were before the affair. I like to think all of them changed for the better. Lucian must have finally felt a sense of relief after getting rid of his abuser, while Allen finally took-off his rose-coloured glasses, saw Lucian under a more critical light, and developed a sense of self-esteem.
Tumblr media
A Study in Violence (I was unsure whether to include this point in this analysis or not due to the violent nature of it. But I figure this analysis would remain incomplete should I leave it out. So here it goes..) The sequence from 1:10:00 to 1:12:00 was an in-depth survey of Violence and how it can occur in different forms. In particular, it focused on how any form of penetration is intimately violating.
We see a lonely Allen being so lost that he's about to have sex with a complete stranger. This itself is very unlike him, who in the beginning of the movie was shying away from Lucian kissing an unknown girl. A few sequences later we see how he wasn't very comfortable with this idea (he wanted to turn off the lights but the other guy turned them on) and yet he was made to shift into a position he did not prefer and hence was made to have rough sex.
We see Bill looking very solemn and injecting drugs into his hands.
We see the violent altercation between Lucian and David. We see David forcing himself on Lucian and eventually being stabbed by him.
We see Jack recieving the news of the death of his friend.
In this way, we see every member of the group being exposed to some form of violence, be it sex, drugs, physical altercations or death.
Tumblr media
First Love and its aftermath First love is also an important theme of the movie as it shows how one's first love has the capacity to radically change a person from within:
Allen's first love changed him from the shy, people-pleasing always-upright persona to the bold, radical, critical and unafraid person he became at the end of the movie.
Allen's discovery of his own style of writing can also be majorly attributed to Lucian's criticism of his rhyme-schemes.
All in all, it was his love for Lucian that drove him to become a more out-going person and ignited the mischief in his spirit, while the heartbreak of realising Lucian didn't feel the same for him also lent him invaluable insight and allowed him to develop confidence and a sense of self-esteem, which would play a significant role in him eventually becoming his own person.
While Allen's first love furnished him with the overall better things in life, the same could not be said for Lucian, sadly. Lucian's first love reminded us how oppressive love can become if the other person isn't suited-well for us; it showed us how sometimes love and obsession are separated by a thin line, and how dangerous it becomes when the line is crossed.
Lucian's story also showed us how sometimes a relationship can be more abuse than love, and when that happened, how easy it became to confuse violence with love.
The most significant message that the theme of first-love portrays is that there will always be consequences.
With this, I bring my arguments and analyses to a close. I hope a future (or even past) lover of the movie happens to stumble upon this someday and learn something fascinating about the movie (or reignite their love for it). Thank you for reading this far!
[P.S. an uplifting fact: in real life, Lucian, Allen, Jack and Bill each got the type of life they wished for, and remained friends for the rest of their lives :) ]

Note
What about a darling that goes to Simeón for help avoiding the brothers? I can see him being an infantilizing Yandere for sure!
I think there’d be a lot of resentment in Simeon that’s not really explored in the game, and I may’ve subconscious, accidentally, very purposefully tapped into that. He just thinks Lucifer and the others are so big, so bad, it’s the least he could do to help you out. Even if his assistance is a little more patronizing than it should be.
Title: Contaminate.
TW: Implied Physical Abuse, Infantilization, Non-Consensual Displacement, and Dehumanization
~
Simeon liked to hold your hand.
It sounds sweet when you put it like that, doesn’t it? He liked being there to guide you, being there to lead you, guiding you through the trials of day-to-day life without ever letting his softened expression harden. It’d been a habit of his since the day the two of you met, when he found you crying on the doorstep of the House of Lamentation, took you by the wrist, and asked if you’d like him to see about having you moved to Purgatory Hall with the rest of the exchange students, rather than forcing you to face the demonic brothers on your own again. He’d taken you by the wrist as he showed you to your new room, kept an arm draped over your shoulders as he explained the extent of your discomfort to Lucifer, and even now, months after you’d been reduced to little more than a trembling pile of confusion and panic, you still found your fingers intertwined with Simeon’s as he walked ahead of you, attempting to find your next class before he sought out his own. You’d made the journey a thousand times before by yourself. There wasn’t a doubt in your mind that you’d be able to make it again, but that was the thing about Simeon.
He really, really liked holding your hand.
But, he could never seem to bring himself to let go.
You couldn’t help but squirm as he came to a stop in front of your classroom, arriving at his destination but making no move to pull away. You didn’t try to, either, but it was hard not to avert your gaze, not to loosen your grip and shrink at the feeling of a hundred pairs of inhuman eyes prying into your back, your arms, the spot where your skin met his, the place where the helpless, magicless human clung to the kind, benevolent angel to protect them from all the big, bad evil-doers in the Devildom. You could never bring yourself to say that kind of thing outloud, not when Simeon had already done so much for you, but it was hard not to feel… patronized when he smiled and pushed slow, steady circles into the back of your hand with his thumb. When he treated you like the blind, naive devotee every demon in the realm thought you were.
But, you didn’t have to say anything. Simeon was good at that - telling when something was wrong, even when you did your best to shove down your worries and keep your thoughts to yourself. Even when you wished he’d do the same, for your sake, if nothing else. “Is something wrong, (Y/n)?”
“It’s nothing,” You assured, hardly thinking before you opened your mouth. And yet, a question was already playing on your tongue, more of a concern than anything. A nagging, gnawing anxiety, one that’d been bothering you more than it should’ve lately. “I’ve just been thinking,” You admitted, your gaze trailing downward, coming to focus on his chest and following the swirls of his golden pendant. “I should talk to Lucifer, or… one of his brothers, at least. They’re trying to be nice, and I’ve been treating them like monsters since I arrived.”
That earned a hum, a contemplative glance. As if you’d just suggested someplace to shop, or told him a piece of trivia he could barely pretend to find interesting. “There’s a council meeting tomorrow,” He said, giving your hand a light squeeze. “I’m sure waiting another day won’t be a further insult to their hospitality. We can talk to them--”
“Actually-” You didn’t mean to cut him off, but you couldn’t stop yourself. If you let him talk, if you let him sound rational and reasonable and convincing for any longer than you had to, you’d find yourself nodding along, unable to argue in fear of spoiling his shimmering, glass-thin sense of tranquility. Reflexively, you stiffened, your apology coming in the form of bent posture and a bitten lip, but Simeon only looked on, staying silent as you tried to find the right words to go on. “I mean, it’s not that I wouldn’t appreciate your help, but… I’m afraid he might be starting to feel like you’re talking for me. I don’t want to be the exchange student he dragged to hell just so I can hide behind whoever looks the least threatening.” You forced yourself to laugh, the sound coming out too uneven, too pitchy. Simeon chuckled, but it was more sympathetic than amused. More pitying than humored. “I should approach him on my own. If he was going to hurt me, he would’ve done it, by now. I should stop acting like he’s going to tear me apart as soon as I give them the opportunity.”
A that, he smiled, finally letting go of your hand. You were relieved for a moment, already moving to thank him for being so understanding, but his palm was on your cheek before you could, cupping your jaw, tilting your head back so delicately, it was little more than a suggestion, a hint at a change until your eyes met his and you couldn’t imagine ever being able to look anywhere else. You didn’t relax, but you thought you might be able to. You could, if he just--
“And what makes you think he won’t?”
Right, right. There it was.
You weren’t sure what you’d expected.
“Demons are dangerous, lovely. You have to understand that, they aren’t safe to be around, not for someone so breakable.” His smile was more genuine, now, his thumb idly tracing over the area under your eye. You tried to look away, tried to take a step back, but all it took was a tap to your chin and a slight, wordless coo to have you fixed in place, as silent and as still as any other member of his tempered, obedient little herd. “Lucifer may act charitable, but he still took you away from your home. He still removed you from the place you belong and brought you here, where you’re powerless, where you need to rely on the other exchange students. No one blames you for holding it against him.”
“I was scared,” You muttered, beginning to toy with the hem of your uniform’s sleeve. Anything that might distract you. “I don’t hate him, I don’t hate any of them, I was just--”
“You’re lying to yourself.” It wasn’t a question. It wasn’t an assumption. To Simeon, it was a fact, and there was nothing you could do to convince him otherwise, not when he was so sure that angels were good and those no longer worthy of holding the title weren’t. “See? This is what they do, this is what he does. He’ll work his way into your mind and he’ll make you believe things that aren’t true. Clearly, just being near him is starting to have an effect on you.” He clicked his tongue, his hand falling from your face. He took you by the crook of your arm, instead, hardly bothering to shake his head before he started to tug you away from your classroom, away from your peers, away from the prying eyes and the concerned glances and the poor influences, as Simeon so often called them. “Imagine how bad it’d be if I hadn’t intervened. We should get you back to your room now, before you do something you’ll regret.”
You opened your mouth, intent on arguing, on pushing him away, on telling him that you didn’t need his help, that you didn’t need anything badly enough to take being treated like a child who didn’t know the difference between a friend and a stranger. But, all it took was a glance over his shoulder for you to swallow down the words again, all that confidence swiftly replaced with seething, brewing, frustrating fear.
You still weren’t scared of Lucifer, you couldn’t be. Simeon never let you get close enough to have anything to be afraid of. Honestly, you might’ve preferred him over your current guardian, if you ever got the chance to see the other side.
You were sure you’d find a way to live with his ‘influence’, as long as his touch left fewer bruises than Simeon’s did.

your gosalyn-quackerjack headcanon is such a big brained idea .....
Aw, thank you~
QuackerJack having such an ambiguous backstory that the series proper doesn't ever intend on elaborating on just means it's free real estate on my part there. And I tend to overthink things a bit. :P
Since the show doesn't exactly need to explain anything about QuackerJack's identity before the series (on account of we, the viewers, are just bystanders looking in, since St. Canard clearly has access to his identity on account who else could possibly be the owner of the QuackerJack Toys company that decided to dress up in costume as an unhealthy coping mechanism?), the series just doesn't go into his backstory beyond a few lines and clues that get tossed around that narrow down what generation he's from (I've figured that he'd be a Boomer, given his preferred toy style seems very heavily influenced by 1950s toys), and that he may or may not refer to his mother as either "Mama" or "Mummy", based on two distinctive utterances of panic/shock when realizing that he doesn't quite have the upper hand as he may have thought.
He also tends to carry Mr. Banana Brain in a particular way, something that carries over into Nega-QuackerJack as well:
Tumblr media
I point this out because it reminds me of something my Mom has told me plenty before: "You can tell someone has either carried a baby before, or has younger siblings, by the way they hold a doll or thier favorite toy."
Specifically: Both hands/arms in use of handling the doll, head may instinctively be supported regardless of whether the doll is cloth or vinyl, and doll is usually never carried by leg/foot or handled in a manner that may usually cause harm if doll was actually an infant or small child. Doll may also be held to chest, with head near where the individual's heart is.
This is usually applied to when simply handling the doll, not when actually playing with said doll, I should clarify.
Of course, this is just a visual choice for an animated segment, but it's interesting QuackerJack is clearly animated to handle his toys in a particular manner most of the time.
Given that QuackerJack would roughly be about 40-ish by the time the series takes place, it's really not out of the realm of possibility to assume that he may have had a life before the company went under, and maybe he did actually have his own family before things got complicated, or maybe he and his hypothetical wife already had issues with the relationship but had agreed to co-parent, or more tragically, perhaps hypothetical "Mrs. QuackerJack" had misfortune befall her not long after thier daughter hatched and left Jack a widower.
There's a lot of possibilities, and they could have been one of the many pieces that chipped away at his sanity until that day that he snapped and took on the identity of his company mascot.
Now, here's another thing I want to add to the overall narrative: In "Days of Blunder" and "Stressed to Kill", it's pretty much confirmed that QuackerJack has an odd skill with creating mind altering devices to either numb the minds of the subjects it's used on, or to at least trap them in thier subconscious for some time when he can rob them blind.
In "Days of Blunder" specifically, he seems outright terrified when the device is turned on him, specifically saying to Darkwing: "No, no, you can't do that!"
Tumblr media
What exactly was QuackerJack afraid of seeing when he should know how the device works, and why was he fighting against the effects so hard when the prior demonstration of it implies the process is somewhat lulling?
Is there a possibility that he might have tested the hypnodisc on himself before when developing the device?
What if there's something in his memories that he's repressed, and he doesn't want that to come back until he's ready to confront it?
What if something happened because he got careless with one of his product designs in his rush to stay relevant in a rapidly evolving entertainment market, and he's never been able to accept that it was an honest mistake the first time, a freak accident, perhaps? 👀
Of course, that's all just a theory, but given the types of backstories everyone else has, it's not that unreasonable. 😅

marius dreams of childhood SSR, part five
Tumblr media
so uhh.... remember this? it’s only been about two and a half months since the previous part xD
same disclaimer and notes from part one.

more tot translations here
do not repost
[PART FIVE]
[21:46] Ferris wheel
Inside the Ferris wheel, I compared the picture of the Aquarian Serpent with the letter Z necklace that Marius wore.
Marius was stunned at my words. He took off his necklace so he could study it carefully.
Marius: If we’re talking about resemblance…
The metal pendant spun on Marius’s fingertips, leaving behind a silver glimmer in the dim lighting..
He turned the necklace around so that the “Z” was lying on its side, then with his hand, he traced out a diagonal line connecting the two ends of the letter.
Marius: If you use a line to connect the two ends of the “Z”, it really does resemble the shape of the ouroboros.*
Marius: In that case, the true meaning of this necklace could be…
MC: It could be a variation of the ouroboros!
Marius: …
Once I thought of it, it suddenly became clear, and I couldn’t help but grab Marius’s hand in excitement.
MC: Marius, you were right. Mrs. von Hagen left you the necklace to tell you that life cycles continuously, never ceasing.
MC: You’re the continuation of her flesh and blood, and no matter where she is, she’ll always love you.
MC: She wanted to tell you that even if her form changes, she’ll always be by your side!
Marius: …
Marius: …
When I said everything that I was thinking, Marius suddenly began to smile with his head lowered.
Seeing his happy demeanor, I suddenly felt like something wasn’t quite right.
The letter Z necklace, ouroboros, Ferris wheel… Marius was able to guess the special meaning behind them when he was so young, so it made no sense that he didn’t think of connecting them further.
Could it be…
MC: H-hold on, you actually thought of this a long time ago.
MC: You said just now that you’d been influenced by the idea ever since you were a kid, and that those were all the naïve guesses of a child…
MC: You, you’ve been lying to me.
Seeing that I was actually going to get mad, Marius hurriedly held the hand that I was about to pull back.
Marius: Hey, I was wrong.
Marius: I wasn’t lying to you. Did you forget what I’d been saying before? That was just a guess of mine.
Marius: For a long time, I really couldn’t be sure of the true meaning of the necklace.
Marius looked into my eyes as he spoke with complete sincerity.
Marius: Or rather, I couldn’t really be sure of it until you clearly pointed out that the letter Z was a variation of the ouroboros shape.
MC: How…
MC: I was only able to connect the image of the necklace with the ouroboros based on intuition.
MC: You’ve had this necklace for so long, so wouldn’t you have…
Marius: Maybe when someone’s been stuck in a riddle that has to do with themselves, they’ll lose that kind of intuition.
Marius smiled faintly and looked up, outside of the window.
Marius: I used to have tunnel vision over the meaning of the letter Z itself, and ended up ignoring the other obvious marks.
Marius: Just like this necklace…
Marius’s finger subconsciously traced over the metal pendant on his chest.
Marius: It was given to me by my mother. But aside from that, it represents the name “Z”…
Marius: Before that belonged to me, in an earlier time, it also once belonged to my mother.
MC: !!!
MC: You mean…
Hundreds of meters in the air, Marius casually spoke words that shocked me like thunder erupting near my ears.
For a while I had thought that the artist “Z” was Marius himself, but I never thought that there was another, deeper secret.
As I was surprised, numerous lights suddenly soared up into the sky from the ground. They morphed into magnificent fireworks, bursting in the pitch-black night sky.
The fireworks show began right on time.
Marius approached the window, reached out to brush his hand against the glass, and spoke next to my ear.
Marius: Unlike me, my mother was fascinated with music and other forms of art besides painting.
Marius: Apparently she always wore this necklace up until I was born, when she gave it to me.
Marius: So the first time I anonymously entered the art world, I subconsciously used the name that she had once used.
Marius: Even though it was so long ago, I’ve already long since thought of “Z” as part of myself, and long since gotten over my self-blame about my mother’s passing.
Marius: But sometimes, I still can’t help but think…
MC:  Think what?
Marius turned his head slightly and extended his hand, seeming like he wanted to grasp all the lights of the sky in his palm.
He gazed at the sky, as if he were gazing into a past that he couldn’t touch.
Marius: Her life was so short. Just like these fireworks, she died when she was at her most brilliant.
Marius: Isn’t that… such a shame?
MC: …
Marius: Or maybe, when it came to giving birth to me…
Marius: Did she ever have a moment of regret?
MC: …
Shame, regret… Despite saying he wasn’t bothered by it, would Marius actually still have moments of doubt?
In the flickering lights, Marius’s face was calm almost to the point of indifference, but I could feel a barely perceptible sense of sadness from him.
It was repressed beneath the tides of the long years, and only in this quiet place high up in the air could it begin to be visible.
I couldn’t help but gently cover Marius’s hand.
MC: Don’t think like that. If we had to measure it, a life has never been judged based on how long or short it is.
MC: Just like these fireworks, even though they have a short lifespan, they’re brilliant enough that that moment lasts for eternity.
I tried my hardest to make my voice sound completely normal.
MC: As observers, we’ll never have a say in other people’s decisions.
MC: So rather than losing ourselves in endless guessing, it’s better to look at the reality that’s in front of us.
MC: For example, the thing that we’re already certain about.
Marius: You mean…
I nodded, my smile returning, and met Marius’s eyes.
MC: The shape of the letter Z necklace that Mrs. von Hagen left you really does come from the von Hagen family crest.
MC: Life cycles without pause. Regardless of what really happened that year, she hoped that you’d hold onto your belief and continue to live on.
[END PART FIVE]

The Team - International Women’s Day
I took a break from lectures today and considering it’s women’s day, I thought it’d be nice to write an excerpt with Blaze and Kaidan celebrating Athalia and Phoebe. Hope you enjoy it. Happy Women’s Day 💛
~
“You’re terrible at this cooking thing, you know that?” Blaze chuckles as he wanders over Kaidan. The vampire rolls his eyes as he subconsciously hands Blaze the spoon on the counter.
“I’m not terrible at it,” Kaidan retorts as before placing his hands back on the counter. “I just don’t need to do it anymore.”
“You can manage cutting fruit though, I presume?”
Kaidan gives a nod. “I suppose the little culinary skills I have can stretch to that.” He slips off of his seat on the counter and walks over to the fridge, opening it up, he turns a blind eye to the blood bags that are in there. He grabs the punnet of strawberries, raspberries and any other left-over fruit that’s in there.
“Do you think they’ll like all this? The breakfast, I mean.” Blaze asks as he scoops the last of the pancake mix into the hot pan, his question is clearly in relation to Athalia and Phoebe.
Kaidan reaches over him to grab a knife and chopping board; eyeing the strawberries first before beginning to chop them up. “They better.” He chuckles, he then pauses for a moment. “It’s the least the two of them deserve, anyway. They’re pretty great.”
“Don’t tell me our resident bad boy’s turning soft, de la Renta.” The voice is easily distinguishable, the light Greek accent makes it clear that the words belong to Athalia.
Blaze let’s out a small laugh instantly before turning to Kaidan. “I probably should’ve said that Athalia’s behind you before you started getting all sentimental.”
Kaidan rolls his head towards Blaze. “It would’ve been good to know, yeah.” The vampire and werewolf glance over their shoulders to see Athalia leaning on the doorframe, her brunette waves are in the rare style of a low ponytail.
A hint of a smile plays on Athalia’s lips as she saunters over to the two of them. “You’re rubbing off on him, Blaze.”
Kaidan sneers. “He’s not rubbing off on me.”
Athalia glances down towards the chopping board before taking part of a strawberry and popping it into her mouth, the sweet flavour bursts over her tongue and she lets out a small hum. “Liar.” Athalia utters. “These are fresh, you bought them this morning.”
Kaidan turns away from Athalia, avoiding her eyes as he knows she’s right.
“Clearly I’m a brilliant influence,” Blaze chuckles before effortlessly flipping the final pancake. He subconsciously takes a sniff of the air around him. “Here comes the witch.”
The sounds of footsteps are heard along the laminated floor. “—Right, I am starving, and I smell pancakes; and they’re my favourite.” Phoebe calls out.
The witch makes it to the doorway, unusually, her hair is down. It’s damp, grown longer, and her brunette roots are no longer visible. Phoebe’s blue eyes lock onto the plate of stacked pancakes that beside Blaze.
A smile curls over Phoebe’s lips instantly. She strides over to Blaze and loops an arm around his shoulders. “Have I mentioned how amazing you are, and how much I love you?” She utters to him before leaning over and pressing a peck to his cheek.
Blaze chuckles before handing Phoebe a bottle of Lehsa’s finest maple syrup. “You know the best way to my heart is to shower me with compliments, Phoebs.”
“Hey!” Kaidan exclaims. “I helped too.”
Blaze smirks. “Barely.”
The vampire’s lips twist, and in Kaidan-like fashion, he holds up a middle finger to the werewolf across from him.
“You even missed Kaidan being tender and affectionate.” Athalia adds quickly, she takes the seat on the counter Kaidan had earlier, stretching over to take a raspberry this time.
Phoebe gasps as she walks over to Kaidan. “No. You’re kidding?”
Athalia shakes her head. “Nope,” she says, popping the ‘p’. “He was being all soft-hearted about the two of us.”
“I wasn’t being fucking soft-hearted.” Kaidan groans, but as Phoebe reaches him, he doesn’t slip away from the arm she loops around his torso.
“Are you just gonna stand there?” Phoebe asks as she looks down towards Kaidan, the height difference between the two of them is only an inch; but Phoebe does take pleasure in reminding the three Supernaturals around her that she’s the tallest out of the four of them. “Or do I get a hug from you?”
Though he rolls his eyes, Kaidan slips an arm around Phoebe’s waist to draw her into a small embrace. “Happy women’s day.” He says as the two of them pull away.
Blaze slinks over to Athalia, as a smile curls on his lips, causing the Goddess to arch an eyebrow. “You’re not going to try hugging me, are you?”
“Do you want me to?” Blaze asks.
Athalia shakes her head. “Don’t even think about it.”
With a low chuckle, Blaze takes a spot beside Athalia. He looks over to her before plucking one of the berries out of her hand, eating it quickly whilst he keeps his eyes on Athalia with a smirk.
Athalia scowls at Blaze, but the expression quickly fades. “Thank you, both of you. For all of this, I mean.”
There’s a silence that washes over the four of them, one they can all enjoy individually, and with one another. A day and a time to solidify their strong friendship, and for the men to celebrate the brilliant women in their lives.

Hi!!! I LOVE UR WRITING AND I MEAN A LOT! Its the first time EVER I ask for something and I know you are the right person! I don't know if you can write a HC of a female MC or it NEEDS to be neutral but just in case: How would the brothers react to a fem MC who is like"flat", (almost no breasts) and is super insecure? If you only write neutral, how would they react if MC was insecure because they have no curves at all and they think they are plain? THANKS A LOT 💞💞
Omg I’m??? So honored?? Thank you so much, I hope I can live up to the praise. ^////^
Yeah, I can def write a female MC! My only rule regarding MC’s gender is that you specify in the request if you want a certain gender for the MC. Other than that, I default to gender neutral pronouns!
I feel like I kind of mixed the two versions of your request together without meaning to, lol. This ended up being more like a fem MC who thinks they are plain. I hope you like it regardless!
I’m sorry this took so long, friend. I was in a bit of a creative slump and I wanted to put my all into your request!
CW: Suggestive situations, but nothing explicit

Lucifer: “Come on, stop staring.”
Lucifer smirked from his position beneath her, using one arm to prop himself up while the other reached up to trail along her jaw. “Am I not allowed to admire your beauty?”
“I’m not beautiful,” she muttered, glancing away shyly. In the heat of the moment, both of them had discarded a majority of their clothes, but now that she had a moment to think, she hesitated. “Especially not compared to you.”
“I wasn’t aware that our relationship was a beauty contest,” he sat up fully, brow creased in concern. His hands made their way to her waist, steadying her as she straddled his lap. “Tell me what’s on your mind, my dear.”
She bit her lip, face growing warm. “It’s just…wouldn’t you prefer someone more…more?”
“My dear,” he chuckled lowly. “You are already quite the handful.”
“I meant…physically.” she crossed her arms over her chest, and Lucifer couldn’t tell if it was a subconscious gesture or not. “I’m not exactly…you know, well endowed.”
He was quiet for a moment before sighing and tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. “If I wanted to be with someone based solely on appearance, I have my pick of the whole Devildom. You, my dear, are the only one who had managed to enrapture me with more than just your pretty face.”
Mammon: “Hey, human! Check it out!”
Mammon actually knocked on the door while he spoke, they were making progress.
She looked up from her schoolwork and smiled at him. “What’s up?”
“The Great Mammon is on the front cover of Devil Today, that’s what!” he tossed the magazine he had been carrying on top of their textbook. Splayed across the front in full color was Mammon, staring coolly over his sunglasses at the camera. The only change from his normal attire was swapping out his normal brown and white jacket for a black leather one, so it was clearly supposed to look casual.
Her eyes drifted from Mammon’s picture to beautiful demoness hanging off of his arm. She was exactly what a model should be - tall, slender, well-endowed, the works. The human felt a surge of jealousy climb up their throat, and she had to struggle to force in down.
“Hey, hey,” Mammon planted his palm flat on her desk, leaning down so he was eye-level with her. “What’s with that face?”
“What face?”
“The face yer makin’.” he frowned. “You look like you just took a bite out of something rotten.”
Her eyes flicked back to the glossy magazine cover. “Nothing. The picture looks great, Mammon.”
“You really think you’re getting out of this that easily?” he might lack common sense, but Mammon could read facial expressions and nervous tics like most people read books. “Come on, tell me what’s up.”
“I just…” she sighed, slumping back in her desk chair. “I keep wondering when you’re going to dump me for one of these amazing models you work with.”
Mammon’s eyes went wide behind his glasses. “You’re kidding me, right?”
When she shrugged and looked away, he huffed and took her hand. “You’ve got nothing to worry about. I wouldn’t trade you for anything.”
“Even Goldie?”
“Hey now, don’t be cruel!”
Leviathan: Was she really getting jealous over an anime girl?
A quick glance at the screen in front of them told her that yes, yes she was.
“Whoa, I, um…!” Levi gulped, scrambling for the pause button. The main couple was in a locker room, the girl clad in nothing but a pair on gym shorts and a flimsy tank top. There had been plot that lead up to this scene, but she had stopped paying attention a while ago.
“The reviews didn’t say anything about an r18 scene…” Levi mumbled, face turning bright red. She could see his bright orange eyes flick over to her briefly before he desperately searched for anything else to look at. “Oh, man. Ohhhh man…”
“Levi?” she gently placed a hand on his arm, and she felt him tense, but he didn’t pull away. Maybe the exposure therapy WAS working. “You good?”
“I-I-I…” he kept looking back and forth between her and the screen, face getting redder with each pass. Yup, he was definitely comparing.
Almost instinctively, she curled in on herself. Of course, she should have known she couldn’t even begin to compare to a 2D girl.
“Ah, wait, no, don’t look like that!” Levi stammered. “I just, um…th-this is the first time…I’ve thought the 2D one was…b-b-better…”
She stared at him for a solid thirty seconds before her brain caught up with what was happening and her face grew just as hot as Levi’s looked. “…Oh…”
Satan: Well, someone was certainly popular.
Satan had asked her to go to a new cat cafe that was opening up after classes had ended. He always took a bit longer to reach the entrance since his last class was all the way across the campus, so she had found herself a nice bench to sit on and read while she waited. It was only a few minutes before the doors opened to reveal Satan…
And a whole group of succubi.
Obviously, since he was one of the Seven Rulers of Hell, Satan got quite a bit of attention. Although she didn’t want to admit it out loud, the thought of him surrounded by demons whose literal reason for living was to turn people on made her feel a bit…inadequate.
One of them had linked her arm with his, manicured claws drumming along his forearm and she smiled coyly up at him. They were too far away for the human to hear the conversation, but the way her glossy lips pouted cutely up at him certainly didn’t make the human feel any better.
As they descended the stairs onto the cobblestone walkway, Satan’s eyes met her. Almost immediately, the vaguely irritated expression he had been wearing melted into something warm and he shook the succubus off of his arm without a second thought.
“Hey, sorry for making you wait.” he was at her side in a second, extending a hand to help her up from the bench. “Were you here long?”
“Only a few minutes,” she peeked over his shoulder at the fan club that was slowly morphing into an angry mob. “Um…”
“They’ll get over it,” he held onto her hand as they began walking, leaning over to kiss her temple. “Come on, let’s go. What were you reading?”
Maybe she didn’t have anything to worry about.
Asmodeus: This was a mistake.
A new nightclub had opened up in the Devildom Cultural District, and as Devilgram’s biggest influencer, Asmo had gotten some VIP tickets. He had practically begged her to come, since it was so rare that she wasn’t bogged down with homework and other mundane things. The thought of going clubbing with a bunch of demons made her feel a bit queasy, but she had agreed anyway.
Of course, Asmo was taking forever to get here. Knowing him, he was still in the bath. But, her name was on the VIP list, so the bouncer had let her stand behind the rope to wait for her date.
She watched as what seemed like every Devilgram model was let into the club. She couldn’t hear anything being said over the pounding base of the music, but she had caught enough disparaging glances to get the general idea that she was being judged.
She probably looked like a kid playing dress up compared to everyone else. Although she had thought that she looked fairly decent when she had checked herself out in the mirror before leaving, being surrounded by the Devildom’s best and brightest put a very unflattering filter over her self image.
“There you are!”
She jumped as Asmo appeared in front of her. She had been so lost in her thoughts that she hadn’t noticed the bouncer let him in. He looked stunning, as always, hair curled stylishly and already long lashes made even longer with mascara. Honestly, this man could show up in a garbage bag and make it the next fashion trend.
“Ooh, that dress looks amazing on you, darling!” he pressed a quick kiss to her cheek, briefly overwhelming her senses with the smell of his cologne. “I’ve never seen you wear that color before! Look at you, stepping out of your comfort zone.”
“Thanks, Asmo,” she laughed. “You look amazing too.”
“Don’t I?” he held out his arm for her hold onto like a proper gentleman. “I tried this new moisturizer today, and it’s a miracle-worker! You have to try it.”
“Is that Lord Asmodeus?”
“Of course it is, any club owner worth their salt would invite him for the opening!”
“Who’s that mousey little thing with him though?”
She could only catch snippets of conversations, but the Devildom rumor mill was already turning. She couldn’t help but frown, tucking herself closer to Asmo’s side.
“Don’t listen to them, darling,” he leaned down to whisper-yell into her ear. “They’re just jealous, and jealousy doesn’t look good on anyone.”
Beelzebub: This was the last time she was working out with Beel.
It might have been different if they were working out at the House, but being surrounded by demonic weightlifters made her feel a special kind of incompetent.
Everyone in the gym looked like they should be starring in a weight loss infomercial, but she felt like she was the before picture and everyone else was the after. She was wearing a baggy T-shirt that she was pretty sure wasn’t even hers and basketball shorts. Everyone around her was all toned muscles and six packs, and her arms felt rubbery just from a few reps with a five pound weight.
“You need some water.”
Someone of Beel’s size had no right to be as sneaky as he was. She hadn’t even heard him set down his weight, and suddenly he was standing in front of her holding out a water bottle.
“Thanks.” she sighed, setting down her weight. She hadn’t realized how thirsty she was until she took a drink. “Man, I feel tired already.”
“You’re doing good,” Beel smiled. “Maybe next time you can try the ten-pound weights.”
Just the thought made her biceps twinge. “Maybe…”
“You don’t have to feel self-conscious.”
“Huh?” Damn him and his unexpected perceptiveness.
He sat down next to her on the bench, popping the cap on his own water bottle. “You were looking around at everyone else, and you had this look on your face like you just ate something bad.”
“I’m that obvious, huh?” she laughed weakly.
“Not really,” he shrugged. “I was watching you.”
“You were?” she had been too busy comparing herself to everyone else to notice.
He nodded. “I like how you look when you’re determined. It’s…cute isn’t the right word, but…”
She couldn’t help but laugh, bumping him with her shoulder. “I get it. Thanks Beel.”
Belphegor: “Hey, come on, wake up!”
Sometimes she swore Belphie purposely fell asleep whenever it was the most inconvenient for other people.
She honestly didn’t know when he was conked out, but he was deep in slumber by the time she closed the textbook she had been using to fill out her study guide. He had folded his arms on the library table that the two of them had commandeered and pillowed his head on top of them.
“Why do I even bother…?” she sighed. Even so, she poked his cheek. “Belphie, come on. They’re going to close the library soon.”
He mumbled, but stubbornly remained asleep. Growling under her breath, she stood up and placed both of her hands on his shoulders.
“Bel. Phe. Gor,” she punctuated each syllable of his name with a shake of his shoulders. Finally, he groaned, one drowsy amethyst eye blinking up at her.
“Man, I was having a really good dream…”
She huffed, crossing her arms. “Were you even sleep long enough to dream? We’ve only been here for an hour or so.”
“O ye of little faith.” he yawned, sitting up. “I guess it’s best you woke me up, it wasn’t a dream I should be having in public.”
“Please tell me you weren’t having a wet dream in the school library.”
“Mm,” he smirked up at her. “It wasn’t a wet dream yet. More like moist.”
“Gross.”
“Well, I thought it was pleasant.”
She rolled her eyes, beginning to gather up the books she had spread across the table. Belphie continued to watch her through heavy-lidded eyes.
“You were really cute in my dream.” he finally said. “Not that you aren’t cute in real life, but still.”
She paused. “You were dreaming about me?”
“Who else would I dream about?”
“Literally anyone else.” she frowned, refusing to look at him as she shoved all of her supplies back into her bag. “I’ve seen some of the succubi around here, there are way better options.”
“Do you really think that?” Belphie reached out and grabbed her wrist. He wore his usual disinterested frown, but there was genuine concern shining in his eyes. “You really think I would trade you in for a bigger pair of tits attached to a screeching harpy?”
She just shrugged.
“If this was just about how you looked,” he stood, still holding onto her wrist. “Do you really think I would sacrifice my precious nap time to study with you?”
“Well, I mean, you still had your nap time…”
“That’s beside the point.”

Maybe, the mask deserved to fall. Maybe, the mask was meant to be shattered. Maybe, the mask belonged amongst the ashes. The crimson mask which, to the common eye, echoed to the imagery of a surge of flames which were fueled by passion and perfectionism. These flames were scary, almost untamable in a way, but they were beautiful, tempting— and here laid mankind’s first paradox : feeling the urge to approach and tame a wild entity. But today, the shine reflecting in this suffering inferno has changed. It’s not longer crimson, it barely holds any shade of red. This fire used to burn to intimidate others, now, it burns just enough to survive. It has changed.
And that’s how everything became blurry— the crimson orbs found themselves to be the martyrs of the emotions draining them. Pearls of salt gathered at the corner of his eyes and fell while following the path created by the dry tears which had previously rolled down the flesh of his cheeks. It was like a cascade, and the rhythm of the tears almost seemed mechanic— as soon as a tear hung from his chin, another one started taking form to replace it right away.
Knowing that he couldn’t control his own emotions drove him insane, but he fell in the trap set by his subconscious— the more he was thinking about how to gain the upper hand over his emotions, the more he felt constricted by the invisible knots forming in his throat. Perhaps knowing that there was no other solution left was yet another motive to cry about.
Bakugou’s head hung low, his crimson orbs never leaving the floor as he was doomed to observe his own downfall through the repetitive drops of his tears. He didn’t dare to blink either, judging that it would only make the tears grow bigger until he would not be able to perceive something clearly anymore. His nails were dug into the skin of his palms, imprints of crescents trailed behind as a testimony of his frustration. His mouth was wide open, too, Bakugou was inviting his body to scream its pain, force the illness out of his body, and although he forced himself to voice vividly his agony, no sound came out of his mouth— he was screaming into the abyss.
« God-fucking-damnit, why is it so fucking hard, hah? W-Why can’t I fucking get this out?! » A crescendo shadowed his intonation, but failed to cover the betraying breaks accompanying his voice. The surprising cracks in his voice made him shut silent, and for a second, he wished no sound could leave his parted lips if it meant he was going to show even more vulnerability. But most of all, he wished that you would not come home earlier and perhaps in the nick of time, he would have re-gained the possession of his own emotions. He couldn’t find himself to imagine a scenario where you would burst out of the door and see him naked, in a way— what were you going to say to him? Were you going to call him ‘weak’? Were you going to break up with him? Were you going to be disgusted? If it meant losing you, then Bakugou was willing to be a silent martyr.
He was way past trying to find an answer to the enigma and thus find why his emotions were filling his senses, he knew that said answer was not going to fall straight from above, perhaps there was no answer. But he couldn’t help and reminisce the events which took place a few weeks prior to that— he failed to arrest a villain and, whilst battling them, got severely injured and was forced to stay off of hero duty for a few weeks. Bakugou felt useless, and guilt for not being able to save citizens was exuding from his every pore, sometimes, he wondered if he really deserved the status of hero in these conditions. The sole heroic acts he was allowed to do was send a text to ‘Shitty Hair’ and congratulate him on his work, not that he would ever openly admit that he was willing to do anything and everything to take his spot.
His work was dangerous, he would wake up every morning wondering if today was the last time he was going to kiss you goodbye, and perhaps he started pouring more bits of genuine adoration in his morning pecks since this epiphany struck him. But his work was also addictive, the sensation of feeling adrenaline course through his veins until hitting his brain was a marvel and he just wanted to know what it felt like to save civilians, prevent crimes from happening— he wanted to witness this all over again, as if he had been overwhelmed by a sudden wave of amnesia.
The sound of keys rattling in the lock didn’t even startle him, he stopped crying, and that was enough of a victory to him already. But as soon as you stepped foot in your shared apartment and were welcomed with silence, your guts were quick to tell you that something was off. You ventured in the vicinity with cautious steps, as if you were discovering your apartment all over again under the heavy influence of silence, but you couldn’t see Bakugou anywhere.
« Katsuki? Are you here? » You called, not sincerely expecting an answer. « Oh, fuck off already. » He responded silently, sincerity abandoning his words.
You had tried to look for him in every room, but failed to find him. Sure, there was one last option and the most intimate one, but knowing that Bakugou could possibly be stuck in your bedroom felt like breaking his own intimacy. You had tried to be by his side as much as you could during his time at home, but you were a hero yourself, and perhaps you felt like staying away from him for a bit would diminish the burning sensations of his pain.
You found yourself knocking against the door and immediately forgetting about your own advice on how to give him intimacy, « Katsuki, I know you’re in there. » but you met silence as a response. Pursuing your intentions, you tried opening the door but you realized soon after that it was locked, your brows were furrowed in incomprehension. You allowed yourself to release a breath you ignored you were holding until feeling the invading sensation of several knots forming in your stomach under the feeling of guilt, and thus, you fell on your knees near the door, weakened.
« Katsuki, love, do you want to talk about it? » You inquired, the sound of your voice coming out as a hushed confession.
« Talk about what? » He barked but it was innocent.
« Don’t tell me you locked yourself in our bedroom because you actually like it. »
« I do whatever I fucking want, that’s none of your goddamn business. » This is why he should have stayed silent, to avoid the crack to distort his voice.
« Katsuki, open the door before I destroy it with my bare hands. »
You were met once more with silence, but this time it hurt more, probably because Bakugou chose not to respond deliberately. Still, you waited for a few seconds, never leaving your position nor moving by an inch— after all, you still had the hope that he silent because he was on his way to come open the door. But, oh well, what a disillusion!
« Come out of the bedroom whenever you want, I’m out. » your actions accompanied your words and you got up, dusting yourself off in the process.
And while your hands swatted away the bits of dust clinging onto the fabric of your pants, the deafening sound of your bedroom door swinging wide open caught you off by surprise. You were met with the dim fire dancing in his crimson orbs before acknowledging the invading sensation of his limbs encompassing your waist in a (literally) breathtaking hold. You were rendered stiff, not only because of the rapidity of this action, but also because this was not a characteristic of Bakugou. His head was nestled in the crook of your neck, not that he had the courage to willingly show his face marked by the torment of his emotions anyway, and his fingertips almost turnt white under the pressure applied on your lower back.
« Don’t go anywhere, stay here. » hot breaths crashed against your skin. « I’m not going anywhere, I’m here, I won’t go away. » you responded equally as intimate, your fingertips brushed the roots of his hair in circular motions. « Now, » you let your hands travel down his face until cupping his cheeks and making him bore his eyes into yours, « do you still refuse to talk to me? »
He blinked once, to make sure he had heard correctly, and then a second time, to prevent the tears from finding the familiar path drawn on his cheeks. He couldn’t stand looking at you, or rather, he couldn’t stand the fact you were looking at him in all his shameful glory, bare with all his emotions written all over his face. But from your perspective, never once did he look as beautiful as now— the reddish tone of his eyes married the scarlet color of his iris, the color of his cheeks matched the color of his eyes, too. But most of all, he was beautiful because he let his emotions speak for him.
He was hesitant, unsure of how his body was bound to react, unsure of how you were going to react as the haunting thoughts of you finding him weak were still clouding his mind. And yet, he couldn’t gather enough strength to look elsewhere but in your eyes, as if a calming bliss were attracting his orbs like magnets would do. He took one breath, it was solemn, but necessary for both the sake of his tirade but also for the sake of unifying his thoughts upon exposing them to daylight.
« I fucking feel like shit ‘cause I haven’t done anything since I’m injured. You, Shitty Hair, Dunce Face, everyone is busting their ass off to fight shitty villains left and right and I gotta’ stay at home doing nothing. I can’t do shit to help you. For fuck’s sake, I can’t even cook to help you out after your day on patrol— I’m fucking useless, you hear me? I’m fucking useless while you’re risking your life out there every day. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Sit here and not do shit? Sit here until I have a fucking confirmation that you’re safe and sound? I fucking hate this, I fucking hate feeling like a burden to you, I fucking hate feeling useless! » The more he talked, the more venom he spat, the more his voice was breaking under the tight grip of his emotions.
It was your turn to reply, but your brain couldn’t seem to form a comprehensive sentence. Sure, there were words and whatnot, but none clicked to create a real sentence. Your mouth was set agape in anticipation, and you laid your gaze upon him and his features— how he dug his pearly whites into his lower lip to refrain himself to give in to the temptations of his emotions and cry, how his eyes screamed for an answer on your end because he couldn’t stand silence as an answer, how he tried to catch his breath and ease his heart.
Your palms were still covering his cheeks. But if this action came from a place of willing to get his attention, now you just felt as if you were cradling the finest piece of china which threatened to shatter at any given moment. You knew how horrible of a situation this must have been for him, so you allowed to grant him his deserved intimacy, your palms orientated his cranium in the crook of your neck, just enough to give him sentimental privacy. And although you claimed that you were doing this for him, you were also doing this to prevent yourself from breaking into tears. Your hearts beat in unison, so did your emotions.
« I don’t even know where to begin », you begin as your digits ran through his hair to soothe him, « I feel so guilty for not doing something about this before », upon saying this, Bakugou pinched your hip in disagreement to which you let out a hushed yelp in response, « Bakugou Katsuki, I know your pride will tell you not to believe me but listen to me for one second, will you? It’s plain and simple, you’ve always been the person I look up to the most. When we were at U.A, I wanted to be like you and every time I was asked who was my inspiration, I would always say that it was Mount Lady or All Might but the only person I could think about was you. You did injure yourself, it sucks but you did it while fighting off a villain and you allowed a family to escape the zone safe and sound. You’re injured because you saved people, not because you tripped down the stairs. » You finished, allowing your lungs to absorb some much needed oxygen while Bakugou slightly tightened his hold as he already missed your voice.
« If you’re not proud of yourself, you know I’ll always be. And, please, you’re not a burden— if anything, I’m glad to know you’re safe here but I also know that soon enough you’ll be able to cook me something because you hate it when I cook for you. », you continued and obligated him to face you one last time, « whenever you’re in doubt, think of how much I love you, and how great of a hero you are. » you concluded your sentence by reducing the space between your lips and crashing yours against his in a unison of sentiments.
Both protagonist shut their lids close to allow the sensations granted by the kiss to roam their body and mind while they were both persuaded of seeing stars. Sure, you had kissed Bakugou more times than you could remember in the past, but here, you could easily discern the tones of care, gratitude and genuine adoration gracing your lips. And once oxygen failed your lungs and had to break the kiss against your will, you noticed that the crimson inferno was more vivid than earlier— Bakugou thanked your passion for fueling his fire and bringing it back from its ashes, like the fire of a Phoenix.
« ‘Love you, too. » Bakugou whispered against your lips.
« I’m sorry, care to say it again? » you responded, a playful smirked plastered on your facial features.
« Hah? Didn’t you fucking hear what I said? » He stared at you in disbelief, already second-guessing his choices in declarations, « I’ll say this once, so listen well, dumbass : I love you. Got that, now? ‘Cause I’m not saying it again. »
But you heard everything, of course you did, you always do. You hear his odd nicknames, you hear his cursing, you hear his screams, you hear his secret declarations of love and you hear him when he’s screaming into the abyss.
« I love you too, Katsuki, so much. » The abyss stared back at him, and offered him a smile.

Summary: Y/N is starting her first day at the BAU as a technical analyst working alongside Penelope Garcia. She turns up wearing one of Spencer’s beloved cardigans to offer her some comfort on a particularly anxious day. How will the others react when they make the connection between Y/N and Spencer?
Requested by: @synthemo
I took a deep breath as I stared up at the FBI building in Quantico, Virginia. My boyfriend, Spencer had gotten me a job working alongside the BAU’s technical analyst, Penelope Garcia. I still had absolutely no idea how far his influence had contributed towards me getting the job, all I knew was last Wednesday at 9am I’d had a job interview with Garcia and the unit chief, Aaron Hotchner. The latter had been a little intimidating, but I’d been prepared for that thanks to Spencer’s forewarning. Thankfully, Penelope had been bright, bubbly and had made it impossible for me not to relax in her company. The interview had passed in a blur, and I’d received a call three days ago telling me I had got the job and I started today. Spence had gone in before me— he’d been called in for a child abduction case in L.A, and after rushing to get ready in under five minutes, he’d left me with a kiss and a quietly murmured ‘good luck today honey.’
I’d fallen back asleep within minutes, but when my alarm had gone off this morning, the nerves had woken with me and had been getting progressively worse since. So I’d grabbed one of Spence’s cardigans on my way out of the door— he’d worn it all day yesterday so it smelled of him, and the soft, warm fabric made me feel almost as safe as I did when I was in his arms. I was hoping no one would notice, though it was pretty oversized on me, but I could have easily bought it this big on purpose. Even if they did, I couldn’t bring myself to be too bothered by it; Spence was my boyfriend, he made me feel loved and safe, and I wasn’t going to be embarrassed for needing that today.
I found Garcia in her bat cave pretty easily— she’d given me a tour after my interview last week and she brightened up as soon as she saw me and gave me the biggest hug, immediately making me feel more at ease.
‘Y/N! You’re here, I’m so glad you’re here, I’ve been looking forward to this since your interview last week, I knew then that you were my missing I.T. soulmate, the yin to my computer yang.’ She paused for breath, noticing the understanding smile on my face, ‘you know exactly what I mean, don’t you?’
‘I do,’ I nodded, settling into the wheeled chair she pulled out for me and taking in the many screens that were clearly my set up, because they were the only ones in the room that were blank. While Garcia’s were lit up with programmes, search results and surrounded by so many bright, fluffy objects that instantly made my mood brighten just that little more.
‘So where do we start?’ I wondered, wrapping Spence’s cardigan tighter around me as I listened to the information Hotch had asked us both to gather.
‘Okay, so apparently our newest resident sicko is someone in this family’s life. His preference is teenagers and due to the fact that Kellen David disappeared without a struggle, the team thinks that the kid knew his abductor,’ Garcia started, handing me a list of handwritten names and sectors for me to search.
‘Got it, what permitters am I searching for?’ I asked, loading the system that I created onto my set up— I’d had it ready to go for days so it only took a few minutes to set up.
‘Any man who seems involved in the David’s lives, relatives have already been cleared, so anyone from outside blood relations who appeared when Kellen was coming out of infancy.’ Garcia reeled off, typing on her computer as she spoke.
After a moment, I joined her, both of us working silently, well up until my phone rang and I nearly fell out of my chair in surprise. Garcia laughed at my reaction and nodded towards the headset next to the phone. With a sigh I slid it on and hit answer.
‘You’ve reached one of the two technical analysts for the BAU.’ I murmured into the phone, nerves clearly present, but they disappeared when I realised who I was talking to.
‘Hey honey,’ Spence said, his voice soft and I felt my anxiety completely diminish, ‘how’s your first day going?’
‘Good, I’m over half way through the list Garcia gave me and I haven’t found anything yet.’ I told him, discreetly inhaling his scent from the cardigan I was still wearing as he spoke; with the sound of his voice and his aroma that was imbedded in his clothing, my anxiety didn’t stand a chance of re-appearing.
‘I’m glad to hear it. I’m actually calling to ask you to search something for me, would that be okay?’ He asked, sounding almost timid and it made my heart soften in his chest. He was always so considerate with me, always asking me something in a way that was clear that I could say no if I wished.
‘Of course it is. What do you need, Doc?’ The nickname slid past my lips without much thought, but I did smile when I noticed Spencer’s change in tone, hinting at the flustered state that always followed that particular endearment.
‘Can you check where Garrett Harold was around the time of the abduction?’ He said, and I knew if I could see him right now, he would be blushing and his eyes would have darkened from their usual light cinnamon to chocolate in his desire. Depending on his mood, that particular nickname could make him beam with pride, blush bashfully, or make him so overrun with desire that we would both be naked within minutes. It was unfortunate he had the latter reaction when I was thousands of miles away from him.
‘According to credit card statements Garrett Harold was only a few blocks away from the David’s house fifteen minutes before the abduction. He bought a large caramel latte, and he even purchased a flight to Paris from his phone but there’s no record of him being in France.’ I told him, crossing my legs as I tried to dampen my own desire that always arose in response to his.
‘Thank you, honey.’ He hung up and Garcia and I fell back into the comfortable silence we’d become accustomed to very quickly.
I didn’t know that Garcia had been half listening to our conversation, and that hearing the relaxed way I spoke to him had allowed her mind to remember where she’d seen the cardigan I was wearing before. On the resident genius, Spencer Reid. She grinned and turned back to her work, wondering how long it would take the other profilers to realise what she’d picked up on in under an hour.
//
‘How long until they’re back?’ I asked Pen for what must have been the hundredth time, but I couldn’t help it, I’d heard that Spence and Derek had to talk down the suspect. I was beyond proud of him for saving Kellen David, but I after I’d heard Garrett had fired a shot at my genius because he wanted to be shot dead and not go to prison, well I needed to see him with my own two eyes to make sure he was okay.
‘They’ll be here in a few minutes, Derek just texted me and said they’re in the elevator.’ Garcia said, typing a response to Morgan and squealing when I grabbed her arm and pulled her with me to the elevator.
When the doors finally slid open, I offered everyone else bright smiles but made a beeline for my resident genius and threw my arms around his neck. I could hear exclamations of surprise from behind me, but I didn’t care and nuzzled into his chest, inhaling his familiar scent, my eyes fluttering closed at how much stronger it was coming from him than the cardigan I’d been holding hostage all day.
‘Hey honey,’ he chuckled, holding me just as tightly and I smiled when I could hear him inhaling after he’d buried his face in my hair, ‘I’m okay, I told you I was.’
‘I know, but you could have lied to stop me from worrying,’ I replied, not even bothering to open my eyes.
‘Well... you’re not wrong.’ His tone was sheepish.
‘Did you get hit?’ I pulled back, my eyes taking in his appearance as if I could see any injuries that would be hiding underneath his soft cardigan, shirt, tie and dress pants.
‘No I moved out of the way, he shot the wall and Derek shot him.’ His eyes were soft as I linked my arm through his and allowed him to lead me back into the elevator.
‘Don’t you have paperwork?’ I wondered, but couldn’t stop myself from subconsciously holding him tighter at the prospect of him leaving me.
‘No, I finished it on the jet, had a feeling we’d both need each other’s company tonight.’ He smiled, caressing the side of my face and bringing my lips to his as my eyes fluttered closed at his touch.
I didn’t notice the surprise on five of the six agents faces as they saw our familiarity that clearly hinted at a romantic relationship. The sixth agent was grinning at seeing Reid so comfortable and clearly unbelievably happy around me, well, that and the sight of the shock on her family’s faces. I was too wrapped up in how Reid’s lips felt against mine; warm, soft and comforting that I couldn’t have told you my own name if you’d asked me in that moment. As the doors slid closed, Spencer broke the kiss, resting his forehead against mine as we both regained our breath.
‘I think the cats out of the bag,’ he murmured, his eyes glittering with mirth.
‘They didn’t know?’ I frowned; I’d figured Spence had told them who I was when he’d suggested me for the job.
‘No, I wanted you to know you got the job because of how amazing your technical analyst skills are, not because of your connection to me.’ He explained, his hands moving through my hair as he spoke.
I felt my eyes soften and I was pretty sure I felt my heart fall a little bit deeper in love with the brilliant, wonderful, considerate man in front of me. I noticed he was avoiding my eyes, probably because he was afraid of how I’d react at his team knowing we were together.
‘I love you, Spencer Reid.’ I murmured, smiling when his eyes met mine, the brown having melted to syrup as they softened, ‘and I don’t care that the team knows, you’re the most incredible man I’ve ever met, why wouldn't I want everyone knowing that I love you?’
His eyes closed for a moment, and when he spoke I could hear the emotion that he was trying so hard to control in his voice, ‘I love you too, Y/N.’
He kissed me again, this kiss was different than the relieved kiss we’d shared earlier. This one was full of love, happiness and the adoration we shared for one another. We pulled away as the elevator came to a stop, and walked out into the lobby and out of the building hand in hand.
‘Have I ever told you how much I love seeing you in my clothes?’ He casually mentioned as we walked to his car— I’d gotten the bus this morning seeing as he’d had to come in before me.
‘Hmm...’ I pursed my lips, pretending to give it some thought, ‘no I don’t think you have.’ I teased, knowing that he told me every time I “borrowed” his cardigans, shirts or T-shirts.
‘Well I really love it.’ He smiled, caressing my face as he murmured, ‘I love how you borrow my clothes because they smell like me, and because they make you feel safe and remind you that you’re loved.’
I felt tears form in my eyes, once again blown away by his perceptiveness, at how well he knew me. I didn’t know what to say, other than once again tell him how much I loved him, because what was there to say to that? I wanted to tell him how much it meant to me that he knew me so well, that he took the time to understand me in a way that no one else ever had, but I just couldn’t get my lips to form the words. But I didn’t need to, because he already knew how much he meant to me, how much I adored him, how I couldn’t bear to be without him. It was obvious in the way his eyes softened as he observed me, the gentle way he tucked my hair behind my ear and the kind but firm way he held my hand. He knew me better than anyone else, and I knew that it was the same for him too. Spencer was my other half, and words couldn’t adequately describe how grateful I was to have him in my world as the love of my life and my best friend.
A/N: @synthemo I don’t know if this is what you envisioned, but this is where I went with it. I know I went a little OTT with the fluff, but what can I say, I’m an addict when it comes to fluffy moments with Spencer Reid. I hope you liked it && I’ll try and get through some of your other requests when I’m off work later in the week! ☺️

Ask: Can I please request Demon Giyuu going really hard at it to get his fem SO/wife pregnant? Maybe something with mating cycles/cumming during a dangerous time of the month/breeding kink?
This is heavily influenced by A/B/O ideas and accordingly have a breeding/impregnation undertone to it. That said, I hope you like it.
at one point I was writing this like a scenario and then it ate time like crazy so i made it HCs. So if the shift in writing is because of that.
He will smell your scent changing and while he typically hates such a thing, it's starting to smell better to him now. He couldn't help but push his face into your neck and breath deeply, which was starting to weird you out.
No matter what you did he just kept trying to hold on to you and rub his face on you. When you said something all he could say is that you smelled good.
Too bad he was smelling your pheromones and unconsciously began to run off men to keep you to himself. It was so bad that the corps had you return home to not cause any more issues and find a way to calm Giyuu
After a day or two at home with him you were getting antsy. Usually you were able to have a moment to yourself while he was sleeping or hiding from the sun, but he could walk almost anywhere in your house safely. And goddammit you were getting painfully horny.
Excusing yourself to a shower you tried to relieve yourself while the running water provided some sound cover as your fingers swirled around your clit before dipping within your core
Giyuu didn't like that he couldn't see you. Nor did he like that the delicious scent you had seemed to fade the longer you were in the shower. Since your bedding was the next strongest place for everything that reminded him of you he laid himself in your blankets and basked in it
You brought yourself to a climax but it didn't push away the feeling entirely. Luckily you felt able to function normally again and decided a nap would be good. Sleeping off this feeling wouldn't be too bad, right?
Wrong. Giyuu is on you the minute you walk into the room and he pulls you into the blankets and wraps himself around you. And you, thinking he's just being sweet, give him plenty of hugs in return
He starts licking all over your neck and trying to get you out of your towel so he can see your body. You might be horny from hormones but you've sent him into a full rut.
Once you're naked he's not far behind and he can't chose to touch you, fuck you or lick you first. He chooses to lick your juices up, after all it has been the smell that's been driving him crazy for days
He may be sitting up straight but he yanks your hips up, puts your thighs over his shoulders, and loves how helpless you are when he stares down at you like a predator. He doesn't waste a second once you're balanced between his knees.
Giyuu eats pussy like he was made for it, especially more so once he becomes a demon. Quick lapping between your lips and sucking on your clit makes your wetness flow again. His elongated tongue pushes inside you and he can practically taste when he hits a good spot. If not for the sounds you make the fluttering of your inner muscles tells him so.
He won't let you be free of his mouth til his makes you cum at least three times. He'll change positions but he's still eating you out like it's what gives him life.
He's beyond ready to be inside you, he knows it's time to see how far he can push you. You're so pliable after cumming so much and he loves how soft and limp you are, willing to let him do what he wants as you reach up to bring him down for a kiss.
With a shift of his hips he's pushing inside you. He feels bad for how hard he grips your breasts when he fully sheaths himself but the moan you let out eased his worries.
When he feels like you've adjusted to him he pulls you into his lap. Your legs are hooked over his elbows with his hands holding you up along your lower back. And of course he's going to flex how strong he is by picking you up.
With a growl of your name he stays pounding into you. It's an insane pace he sets and it leaves you absolutely bouncing in his lap and squealing with over sensitivity. He's groaning "mine" in your ear with each thrust and it's all he can do to keep from losing control
Something started slamming against your entrance as he pounded into you and it left you confused as you struggled for breath between poundings. Looking down you saw the base of his length had swollen and somewhere you subconsciously knew what it was.
Giyuu couldn't help himself from you, slamming his hips up and gravity brought you down from the last thrust. Growls and groans filled the room and he watched your body take him in and before he could stop himself he slammed your hips down with his hands, pushing your lower lips into his pelvis. A choked yell of yours filled the room as his knot filled you, stretching you past anything you'd ever felt before. It hurt but fuck you felt full.
With his cock locked within you it pressed into your womb. The tremble of your hips only made the sensations more intense. Your demon lover lowered you to the floor, pressing your legs over his shoulders as he rocked his hips into your body. The snug fit of him, the pressure of his length and stimulation of your clit against his pelvic bone made your legs quiver and body arch.
"Giyuu, Giyuu, Giyuu!" The wailing of his name was all he could feel as he humped you with intent. Your hands seized his biceps with a death grip as your walls tightened around him and all breathe left you. Only a mutes cry of "fuck" left you as your body squeezed him for all he was worth. A bite to your shoulder shook you from the last moments of your orgasm as a deafening growl left him. The head of his length pushed against your womb as his release began.
You couldn't believe how much he came in you. If it weren't for his knot it surely would have been gushing out around his length, like it usually did. Having to take it all inside was so much different and yet you loved it. With some urging he let your legs down and you immediately took to rolling your hips against him, bring a blinding pleasure so soon after your last climax. The demon groaned and took hold of your hips, taking in the patterns in your movements before matching them with his own.
It was embarrassing how fast you came for him again but he didn't seem to mind a bit, if anything he moaned out your name against your ear and his fingers left bruises along your hips from his tight grasp. You hadn't been the only one sensitive after climaxing. Your legs clamped around him, holding him still as his chest heaved for breath.
Somehow you knew what this was about. You didn't know who's biology it was - if demons have heat or rutts, or if your body had some human equivalent - but the fact he formed a knot wasn't something you were used to.
When his knot returned to the size of his shaft he pulled out. The noise was so obscene - the sound of your wetness combined with his cum made a squelching sound that only the biggest of perverts would think of. His eyes remained in your lower body, watching as his cum dribbled slowly from your abused entrance as it adjusted back to normal. He let out an annoyed huff and lifted your hips onto his lap and using his fingers to usher the dripping mess back into you. A sharp inhale left the demon before his slicked fingers found your clit, circling the nub gently before applying pressure.
"Giyuu, I can't anymore, please." But your pleas for help fell on deaf ears as his eyes watched your body twitch and jerk with the motions of his fingers. Your walls tensed, fluttering at the sensation, trying to close around something no longer inside you. The squeeze of your core caused more cum to gush out of you, making your lover groan.
He so badly wanted to push his fingers inside of you, but the claws that he had now would do more than just hurt you. His thumbs pulled your lower lips apart to look at the mess he made of you. You were covered in his scent, from his body pressed against yours during your coupling to the claim he laid within your core. Lowering your hips to his he rubbed the hard length of himself against you. While you needed a break in between he didn't, not that he would deny you rest.
"Giyuu!!!" Hypersensitive wasn't even the world to describe how you felt. It was as if you could feel his every ridge and vein of his cock as it pushed into you. Luckily he went slow, taking pity on you as you clearly didn't have much left to give. He laid his body against yours, his lips pressing to your own as his hips pressed snugly against your own.
"Make… a baby…" Your mind couldn't believe your ears. It wasn't often he spoke, so he clearly knew what he was saying. If his statement wasn't enough then the large hand laid over your stomach confirmed it. His head dropped down to suck your nipples and after his words it took on a whole new meaning.
"Giyuu!" Fingers threaded into his hair and tugged pitifully. He toyed with your clit as his mouth popped from your nipple, sparing a lust filled hazy stare as his saliva was still connected to your nipple. Something snapped within him and his lazy hips gave a sharp thrust as his mouth descended to the nape of your neck. His teeth bit down, just short of breaking skin, and didn't let go as his hips pistonned into your own.
"Breed.. You…" His knot was forming again, you could tell this time, and you could feel it swelling as it dipped into you. "Take it, take it, take it!" Possessive words were accentuated by his rough breathing and snapping hips. One hard thrust pushed his knot into your core, locking you together as the pad of his fingers worked your clit at a speed your body couldn't comprehend.
" Cum… Cum, cum, CUM" Like a command your release washed through you, heightened by the knot pressing into your g spot as the head of his cock pushed against your deepest parts. A trembling cry of his name left your lips as your body convulsed under him. He rolled his hips with yours the best he could being locked within you before he fell into a climax as well.
You laid below him, legs shaking viciously around him as you felt below your stomach become distended from his release. His knot pulsed and length twitched as his forehead pressed to yours. You couldn't believe he was still cumming, but it started to show.
Once the rush left the both of you it was replaced by the high of your release. Lovingly Giyuu licked over the bite on your neck. When your legs calmed he rested them against the bed. He pulled you into a cuddle that wouldn't hurt both of you since you're still connected
"Love you" He mumbled as he fell asleep against you.

A bit Green
Summary:
Lily discovers one of the Rooks trying to get close to Jacob, and never having experienced true jealousy before, it doesn't sit well with her.
[This imagine struck my heart, he’s so gentle with her and yet still so fearsome ahhh, anyway, more in the works to come so hold tight :) x]
Tumblr media
An eruption of laughter at the table had escaped into the air though no one took particular notice to the loud noise. In fact, the entire pub had lit up with conversation and song, the music that echoed around the room had lifted the spirits of everyone in it. Most nights drinking with the Rooks had been merry, but tonight had been a special occasion to celebrate; to the new ownership of Horse and Groom.
The assassins began to slowly expand their empire from borough to borough, able to find funding in underground fights and carriage races, evidently where they recruited most Rooks who had eager ferocity against Blighters and a willingness to fight. Numbers grew larger and larger as did the influence of the assassins gang within the city, an undeniable uprising to those who sought against the oppression.
In the corner amongst few Rooks sat an assassin, her emerald eyes fleeting from faces to the scenery around her, still coming to terms of the pub investment that had landed them ownership of this fine establishment. A light chuckle came by Lily, averting her attention back to the green coated allies at the table that shared conspiracy rumors of the city itself. Debating on what deemed true and did not, pints in hands splattering at passionate opinions and loose fingers. The thought of drinks had her head turn to the empty chair beside her, waiting for her partner to come back with promised said drinks.
There had her line of sight drawn over to the bar, eyes softening at the familiar sight of Jacob's robes, even if from the back. The way he had leant against the counter as he waited for drinks had struck him out from the crowd, the man easy to spot when he hadn't been hiding in plain sight. But her smile faded as she lay eyes on the woman beside him, a younger Rook she hadn't known by name but had seen at various stronghold locations. She had provided the Rooks with decent information to enable Jacob to plan attacks against Blighters and run things accordingly without much disturbance.
So to say the least she was around a lot, and appeared to enjoy that factor.
Lily's face hardened as she kept a close eye on the girl, her pretty features working in her favor to get what she desired; and she was aware of how alluring she looked. Although her intent hadn't been one to worry, but more so on who her target was. She suddenly laughed, lifting her hand up to push back a strand of hair behind her ear, gaze eagerly looking up to Jacob in an attempt to flatter the assassin. He hadn't been fazed which provided Lily with a moment of relief, though it was only that, a moment.
The Rook's confidence grew as she slyly lifted an arm up beside him, brushing her fingertips to his elbow gently to engage in physical contact of her flirtations. A sudden harsh intake of air had been swept into Lily's lungs, watching another, especially that of an ally, make a move upon a man that was clearly taken. The disrespect of the woman crossing boundaries despite knowing them had Lily's anger flare. But she kept it at bay, allowing the emotion to slowly bubble up internally instead of acting impulsively.
This had all been new to her, the foreign circumstance creating an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach. She knew Jacob had well intent, and wouldn't succumb to that of his Rook, yet still felt sick at the sight. Was she jealous? Sitting close by to a show of affection for a man she had already made claim? She didn't like it. She refrained physical anger with tight clasps of her fists perched underneath the table as a wave of uneasiness seemed to settle over her completely.
A sudden cheerful welcome came to the group as another band of Rooks across the pub had made way to the table, excited to suggest a new interest of the night. "We're gon' make way across town to Topping's fight club! Thought you might want to come!" With intent to extent the night out longer, Lily couldn't seem to keep focus as her eyes trailed back to Jacob. The woman now in a closer proximity, her eyes staring wantonly up at her boss. It was a sight that Lily could easily start up hellfire for, but fought against it for the pleasantry of others. So she agreed to accompany the others out to Robert Topping's underground fight club, no longer able to bear witness to the sight before her.
She stood, leaving the pub behind the others with a slip out of the doorway, believing she had gone unnoticed toward the new endeavor. Though she was wrong. Jacob stood idly by the bar, waiting for the barkeep as one of his Rooks kept him company. She had simply started up with light conversation and praise of new ownership, but quickly had he come aware of her intentions and only hoped to get his drinks quicker.
The light touches of the woman and sexual glaze over her eyes hadn't fazed Jacob, only hoping for an excuse to retreat back to his seat where his beloved sat waiting for him. At the thought of Lily, he couldn't help by itch a smile to himself, turning his head to lay eyes on the woman that stirred a fire in his heart. But the feeling abruptly froze as he saw her seat empty along with a few others from that same table. His eyes scanned the pub intently, only just seeming to catch Lily slip out of the doorway and into the night.
His fist clenched, forgetting his intent on buying drinks as he easily stood straight and made haste after her. His name was called from the Rook though he made no motion to answer it, swiftly stepping out into the cold to have lost sight of the assassin. No matter, as his quick wit had brought him to his mastered eagle vision, head turning to catch sight of where she could possibly have gone. And down the alleyway across the street, a few figures made way into the night, one being gold and seemingly his only concern as he made way after her.
Chatter and easy strides lead Lily behind those that kept in high spirits, her head tilting high though her stomach sat the complete opposite. An emotion she knew she couldn't justify, yet one that decided to linger despite it. So caught up in her thoughts, the sudden grasp to her arm had completely caught her off guard. Lily acting on impulsive reflex at the sudden contact with a defensive swing of her arm. But it had been blocked by none other than Jacob, the assassin unfazed by the attack as it appeared his mind riddled with other current concerns.
"Lily," her eyes looked between his in momentary shock, unable to comprehend how Jacob had quickly made of her absence, "what are you doing?" Something had felt awry, Lily not normally one to skip out on any such celebrations, especially ones that include drinking. His hands tightened ever so slightly as he pressed for an answer, the woman averting her gaze back to the group that slowly made way into the distance. "What's going on? Lily, answer me."
"Some Rooks and I simply wanted to visit Topping's fight club." Her stare finally meeting his, though there had been a vulnerability to hers that Jacob couldn't quite decipher. "That's all." Her blunt statement was cold, though Jacob knew there was more. This hadn't been the first time Lily had struggled to express anything with emotions to Jacob, an ability that would take time. Hence why Jacob didn't snap, yet continued to prod with curiosity.
"We were getting drinks. You were waiting for me while I-"
"It appeared you had found better company." Lily snapped, her mouth moving faster than her brain had. The statement was sharp with hurt, an emotion she had conveyed too easily without restraint. It had Jacob's brows furrow as he shook his head.
"I don't understand." A sigh came his response as her arms folded over her chest, feet allowing a step away as she quietly huffed at how overwhelming this green monster inside her had become. "Lily, talk to me." He reached out, briefly brushing his fingers to her wrist as he closed the distance between them once more.
She felt foolish for letting her feelings get the better of her, not truly knowing how to explain to Jacob what she felt had her bothered. "I just," she swallowed the lump in her throat, kicking the gravel beneath her as Jacob stood awaiting an answer, his gaze focused in on his partner before him, "you were there with... and I..." Why had this been so hard?
But before she could attempt at a better explanation, a sudden call of Jacob's name came from close by. The pair turning their attention onto the very Rook that had provoked flames of anger into the very assassin. Her chest heaved as she subconsciously took a step away, Jacob laying his sights on the drop of Lily's features. Her eyes seeming so sad with an emotion she couldn't will herself to indulge in; it had caught Jacob off guard, his own gaze softening as he watched her then instantaneously switch up to her hard glare. The Rook came closer, hands clasped in front of her chest as she looked between the two before landing her sights on Jacob; she politely smiled. "I was wondering where you'd run off to."
Lily shook her head in disbelief that the Rook had been so concerned of his whereabouts. It hadn't of been her business as she yet again ruined another moment.
"Why don't you go back and keep your current entertainment occupied." Lily growled, spinning on her heel and making her leave with haste in each step. Jacob reached out to her as he watched her continue out of reach. He blinked back feverishly as he tried to piece together what had just happened. He'd never seen lily so defensive so quickly without reason which led him to delve into memories just moments before. Though rethinking to her words and what had led her to a quick exit, it appeared something clicked in his head as he tied the knot to it all together.
His face dropped in realization before he felt a sudden light touch to his shoulder, almost skimming over close to his chest. The Rook had daringly made close contact with the man, ever so bravely stepping by his side to close the gap between them. "Give her space." Her words wanting to come across with good intent, though her underlined tone told him anything but.
It was her. She had seemed to be the stem of this problem.
He could only recoil from her touch, stepping away as he knocked her wrist lightly from his body. The Rook appeared shock, cupping her wrist as Jacob had looked down at her expressionless. It seemed he had not previously been the polite man he had mere minutes ago, and she didn't like that; as if her plans to grasp a tighter hold on him loosely slipped away. "Jacob? I don't-"
"You will address me as Mister Frye, or Sir. Do you understand?" His tone deathly serious as if to challenge her to call him otherwise. It was a barrier he needed to firmly place, realizing the misinterpretation it caused. It would not happen again. He would not allow anything to make Lily feel so insignificant again.
"I-I-" His brow raised expectantly, the Rook finally concaving to the reality as she moped with a nod. "Yes, Sir." Jacob now satisfied that the situation had been rectified, he turned back around to where Lily had left off, features softening once more as he began running after her without another word.
Having caught up to the group, Lily allowed them to walk ahead as they closed in to the entrance. The walk had been a colder one than usual, the weather seeming to affect Lily more than she realized as she felt just as much internally. Her jaw clenched and unclenched, hands shoved into the pockets of her robes as she followed the Rooks with disinterest.
"Miss 'arvard! We're nearly there, come on!" Opening her mouth to respond, she was immediately cut off by an all to familiar voice.
"Give us a moment!"  She snapped her head back around to lay eyes on Jacob once more, swallowing back as she looked around for that Rook to be in toll close after. Yet she hadn't, which had Lily curious. Her brows narrowed in somewhat anger, but at what particularly she didn't know. Jacob did not truly do anything wrong, and so her anger wasn't directed at him. She was just generally upset, unable to rid the feeling or express why she sat in it as she did. The bitter emotion sat heavy to her chest, eyes averting sideways momentarily as she expected another interruption.
"Lily," Jacob cooed her name softly, stepping closer to her so her face sat level with his chest. The way her name rolled off his lips as her shoulders softened, fingers clasping to her robing material in anticipation. Her eyes drew up, surprised to see Jacob looking down at her with a gentle gaze; he hadn't of been angry or even confused. Simply accepting, and it tugged at her heart.
His arms lifted to wrap around the top of her shoulders, tugging her closer to press her against his chest. Her eyes widened as he tightened his hold to her. It was a particular place he liked to embrace Lily when he wanted a close proximity, a place that she felt most valued when he was with her.
A kiss came atop her forehead, her eyes lifting up to meet the hazel pair that gazed down warmly at her. The hands in her robes slipped out onto his chest, fingers clutching his vest to additional comfort as he kissed her forehead once more. "You're all that I need, Lily." He began, gently tilting her head up closer to his with the aid of his forefinger and thumb. His other took a hold of her hand, sliding it over his chest to land atop the part where his heart lay underneath. "That is yours, Lily Harvard." She swallowed back, wrapped in the emotion along the side of the street, yet she couldn't seem to find enough will to care. "And I will continue to call you mine, until a day comes where you wish it not."
Lily could only shake her head, glancing down to their hands as he began to run his thumb warmly against the back of her palm. Though his words were few, they seemed to be enough to emit a lighter feeling in her chest, the weight etching away with each moment by the sheer warmth of his touch and sincerity behind his eyes.
Her response came as a nod, tipping up onto her tip toes as she pressed a lingering kiss against him. He smiled against her, holding her close as the two embraced on the street, uncaring of those around who watched. His hot breath against her own sent her into a trance as she pulled away, Jacob pressing a last kiss to her forehead as she inhaled contently at the exchange. Surely more to come as the rest of the night could finally be spent in the joy the two had been expecting.

Chapter 3 of “Say Something” series
Deceit huffs, sitting partially slouched over the dinning table as he sips from his wine glass, munching on gummy rats that Remus had summoned him to help brighten his sour mood. Said creative side was currently sitting across from him going on about something or another.
Deceit wasn’t paying attention, just enough to mindlessly nod when needed, letting the side jabber and get his energy out while the snake side sulked. Hmm...maybe he should pay Remy and Emile a visit. He hadn’t gone to see them since...well, it’s been awhile.
It took him a moment to realize that Remus had stopped talking, The Duke had turned to stare at the stairs of the subconscious that led up to the mindscape...Standing at the bottom of them was Logan, he was just there! Casually looking around the room where he stood. It’s quite a surprising site to see, no wonder it drove Remus speechless. Well besides the fact that he’s obviously rather fond of the other side. After a moment, Deceit clears his throat. “Can we not help you?”
“Actually, yes. I wanted to talk to you about something.” Logan straightens his tie and clears his throat, brushing off the fact he hadn’t realized the two sides were at the table. “Oh?”
“Well more specifically, the events that occurred during our discussion with Thomas earlier today. I wanted to apologise on the behalf of the other. They were rather dismissive of you, despite you bringing up some rather valid points. I..” Logan coughs. “You can say I understand to a degree the feeling of being brushed over, so to speak, and that I inf act do not condone such behavior especially to someone who is actually contributing and trying to help.”
Deceit has to take a moment to collect his thoughts and form proper words through the fuzzy haze of alcohol... This almost seems like some joke. “...Thank you for the apology, though it’s rather unnecessary. You're not the one that needs to apologise, if you want me to be honest you deserve an apology more than me” he points at Logan with an unimpressed lift of his brow.
The spectacled side sighs “Regardless, I bring the apology and regret that I had not attempted to get them to listen to you.” “It’s whatever. I appreciate it I guess.” Deceit mumbles, waving a hand concedingly and taking another sip of wine clearly not very concerned with this conversation.
“I could tear out their tongues for you!” Remus offers, way too excited at the idea. Logan frowns shaking his head “That’s...very thoughtful of you Remus, but I don’t think that’ll be necessary.”
“It would be more fun to shove them down the stairs, like a couple of really annoying slinkies” Deceit adds mumbling into his drink Remus snickers nodding while Logan shakes his head “I appreciate your offer and suggestions, but that’s still a no. We want them to listen, not get them hurt.”
Deceit stands from the table swaying almost like a snake influenced by a snake charmer. “Well, that is much easier said than done. They’re bound to get hurt before they start listening to anyone.” He picks up his glass intent to make his way to the couch “You’ve said your apology, you don’t have to stick around any longer.” Logan raises a finger, opening his mouth to speak only to close it as he squints at the snake side as Remus gets up coming behind Deceit and scooping him up into his arms, spawning tentacles from his back to help properly support the side in his arms. Using one of said tentacles to slip the wine glass away from the snake sides reach. “Is he drunk?”
Deceit hisses, attempting to wiggle from Remus’s grasp and snatch his drink back “I’m not drunk...yet...I think.”
“...Do you intend to get drunk?” The logical side crosses his arms, frowning at them. Deceit shrinks down on himself guiltily
“...Maybe…”
Logan’s frown deepens as he shakes his head “I’m getting you a glass of water, have either of you eaten anything?”
Remus carries a definitely not pouting Deceit over to the couch where Logan had pointed for them to sit as the snake side replies “I’ve only eaten a few gummies so far.”
“I ate ass!” The duke enthusiastically answers plopping onto the couch and still holding the grumpy snake side protectively in his arms and tentacles.
“He means a peach.”
Logan huffs heading into the kitchen, making himself at home as he goes about sifting through the cabinets and fridge “I’m going to make the two of you something proper to eat, do either of you have any dietary restrictions?”
Remus nods with a bounce, he knows the answer to that! “DeeDee doesn’t like mushy stuff ‘n I don’t like citrus.” Logan nods, filing that information away for later. He has managed to find a box of noodles and some tomato sauce, spaghetti is easy to make and hopefully satisfying to the two sides. It grows quiet for a while save for the sounds of Logan cooking, filling a pot with water and setting on the stove to boil with the noodles.
Remus plays with Deceit’s hair keeping himself occupied as they await the meal. Something must be up, why else would the logical side have decided to suddenly care to apologize to him, to care if he was drunk or for that matter make them food?? Wasn’t he the one that usually would argue that they didn’t need it?
Deceit can’t help but squint suspiciously at the side, “You’re totally not planning something?” he hisses flicking his tongue out with his words.
“Well, I”m planning to feed you some spaghetti and try to get you to drink some water to help keep you hydrated from your consumption of alcohol.” The snake side huffs knowing that was the logical side's so called plan. But he wants to know the real one! He opens his mouth to say as much but Logan continues “Maybe re-discuss points from earlier conversation with the others and Thomas since, well, neither of us got to share our opinions on the matter...If that is what you are asking?”
Deceit sits up, turning around on the couch and propping himself up on his elbows to look at the logical side, eyes narrowed. That can’t possibly be all. There’s gotta be something else here, he’s sure of it.
Remus finishes the braid he’s been working on, wiggling happily at his work before starting another. “I could think of some tasty things to do instead off boring ol’ talk!~”
The snake side sighs “Remu-” “Oh! I tried that mushroom thing from Hannible! You gotta come check out the corpses with me!”
“Re-” “The roots really did spread through the whole body! I got one of them to be oozing-”
Deceit huffed snapping his fingers to focus the creative side’s attention, the duke’s mouth clicking shut and heading whipping around to find the sudden source of noise.
“I know you want to talk to him about all those wild ideas of yours dear, but do you think you can wait till after I interrogate him?”
“Oh! Yeah, I’ll wait!” Remus nods his head like a bobble head, stilling as he goes back to focusing on playing with Deceit’s hair, a third braid in the making...he might be attempting to stick an eyeball in it...or a tooth.
Logan adjusts his glasses as his brows furrowed in confusion, the glasses fogged slightly from the steam of the cooking pasta “Interrogate me? What for?”
“Well see Logan, you never come down to this part of Thomas’s mind. Nor really have you ever shown an interest in our care, save for Remus of course when he’s visiting you but that's just a given.” he makes an offhanded gesture to Remus “So tell me, what is your true motive for all this.”
Logan pauses in his task of stirring the pasta sauce “My motive?”
“Yes your motive, I may be intoxicated but I can still tell when something is suspiciousss.”
Logan tilts his head at the snake side, beginning to absentmindedly stir the pot again. “Have I been acting suspicious. I do suppose a divergence from usual patterns would make something seem suspicious and put you on edge.” he thinks aloud.
He shakes his head, turning the heat off the stove and mixing the sauce into the noodles. “I have no secret motive, no ulterior plan, I am merely tired of the treatment and order of things...of course that’s now paired with the fact that I am concerned about your alcohol consumption.”
Deceit rolled his eyes “Well the whole treatment and order is going to be harder to change than just coming over for a visit…” he moves from Remus’s grasp to lean over the back of the couch “And my so called alcohol consump-consumption is fine! I didn’t have a lick of it for a couple of weeks!” Of course that was because he wasn't about to drink such stuff while he was preg- for reasons, wasn’t drinking it for specific reasons he will not ever talk about...yes.
...for a pink and yellow, brown speckled reason currently in his bedroom hidden with the other one.
Logan hummed, not convinced as he made plates, putting the finished spaghetti on dishes before carrying them to the table “Either way, you two are eating and then getting to bed. No shenanigans or schemes, whatever it is you two do when left alone down here.”
Deceit can’t help but pout at that, he doesn't have plans for the night but still, he doesn't want to be told what to do and be put to bed like some child thank you very much.
Remus finishes with the sides hair and scoops him into his arms again. “I can walk myself!”
“I know” :D
Stuck being carried it seems, the snake side just sighs, there’s no use fighting Remus, they’re both touch starved as is and the dukes pentiant for just snatching and carrying people around is a constant.
He gets gently deposited into his usual place setting at the head of the table, Remus sitting by his side and eagerly digging into the food...he does notably try at an attempt to be polite and use a fork as he stuffs his face tonight.
Deceit sulks conjuring himself a wine glass by his bowl, eyes widening when Logan snatches it away and puts a glass of water down. “Excuse me?”
“No more wine tonight. Water”
Remus giggles at his expression, the snake side not used to someone trying to boss him around like this.
He can’t help lifting a challenging eyebrow at the logical side “No wine?” Deceit waves his hand over the glass of water turning it into a glass of whiskey on the rocks “Fine.”
Logan raises an eyebrow back, clearly unimpressed and frowning. He gives a huff taking the glass, poofing it out of existence and putting a glass of water down once again.
Deceit flicks his wrist changing the water to vodka, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he watches Logan. The logical side huffs “enough” he snaps turning the drink back into water “you will drink the water, eat and then we can assist you to your room for re-” “No!”
Logan sputters to a stop startled by Deceit’s sudden shout and looking to the snake side with bewilderment.
Deceit blinks before flushing lightly as he looks down at his place sheepishly, he hadn’t even realized he had stood, now seating himself back down. “Apologies...I um I would just prefer not to be in my room tonight.” he pokes at his plate with his fork hoping Logan wont see through his lie
“R-right.” Logan clears his throat, adjusting his tie in that lil tick of his “Well, then um we can make you comfortable on the couch then? Will that suffice?”
Deceit quickly nods “yes, the couch will be fine.”
The dinner seems to be rather dull after that, Remus and Logan going back to discussing what Remus had done in the imagination inspired off of the Hannibal episodes they have watched together. Janus watches them chatter fondly, the two animatedly talking and gesturing back and forth...It’s nice seeing the two enjoy themselves like this. Especially Logan, it’s not often you get to see the logical side light up like this.
With a small hum he stands with his empty bowl taking it over to the sink without a word, not wanting to interrupt.
He tries to walk past the table without being noticed, if he can sneak past he may be able to make an escape to the imagination and to his two favorite traits. Of course things never go as planned, why would they. Remus immediately perks up and the creaking of his chair is the only warning Janus gets before the creative side pounces, pinning him to the ground.
Janus sighs with a groan “Really? Remus why-” they both pause with confusion and looking to the dining table, hearing a small giggle and a snort.
Logan was watching them, a hand covering his mouth to stifle the sound of a laugh, eyes full of amusement and fondness...they made the logical side laugh?!
Remus's eyes sparkle surprised that he got Logan to genuinely laugh! He beams excitedly at the logical side “You laughed!”
Logan blinks, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink as he quickly lowers his hands “I-I um think you misheard.”
Remus shakes his head quickly scooping up Janus and holding him out to Logan like one holds a feral cat away from themselves “No! I heard it! J-eh Dee-Dee did too!”
Janus gives Logan a disgruntled look but nods, not appreciating how he’s being held “I did here it too. You do realize you can’t exactly lie to me right?” he flicks out his tongue at Logan as if to emphasize he can sense them.
Logan sighs fiddling with his tie “Remus I don’t think it’s good for you to hold Janus like that. Why don’t you get him to the couch and I can get him some pillows and blankets from his room.” he suggests quickly in an attempt to change the subject.
Remus nods, eyes still sparkling as he pulls Janus closer, of course it's a bit of an issue when the snake side is wriggling and squirming as if trying to escape. “No! Don’t you dare go into my room!”
Remus takes a hurried step back conjuring his tentacles again to try and keep a hold of the snake side who's baring his fangs at Logan and hissing angrily.
Logan flinches, face scrunching with confusion as he quickly puts his hands up “I apologize, I didn’t mean to over step! I won’t go into your room if it makes you uncomfortable.”
Janus calms, going still in Remus’s arms looking a bit disgruntled as he gives one last soft hiss at Logan.
Logan huffs and Remus turns around so Janus can’t look at Logan anymore “Welp I think Logan had the right idea, someone had too many silly drinks, bed time!”
Janus whines “I did not have too many, and I'm not tired. Put me down.”
Remus shakes his head dropping Janus right onto the couch “Nope, it's bedtime! I’m putting you to bed and ain’t nothing you doing about it.” Janus makes more unhappy noises before squeaking at the sudden weight of Remus flopping on top of him.
“You're not even going to let me get comfortable?”
“Nope” >:3
Janus huffs glaring at the ceiling of the living room resigned.
Logan smiles making his way over “Maybe it would be best to let him get comfortable, I don’t think I’ll be able to sit with you otherwise.” he pauses “That is of course if it's alright if I stay?”
Janus sighs as Remus quickly scoots off him “Might as well, you’ve made yourself at home thus far.” he sits up to move to the side so that Remus and Logan can probably cuddle, only to stiffen up when he’s suddenly squished between the two sides.
Remus wiggles some before snapping his fingers and changing them all into comfortable t shirts and pajama shorts before wrapping Janus up in a blanket “You gotta wrap Dee up in a blanket so he can burrow and stay warm, otherwise you get a grumpy snek who can’t sleep.”
Janus sputters glaring at Remus from his cozy blanket burrito“Don’t give away my weaknesses!”
Remus ignores him, smiling at Logan “and squish him! He sleeps best when squished”
Janus hisses as Remus leans on him more, and makes an offended noise when he is shushed by the creative side. And again when Logan leans on him next. He’s definitely squished between the two sides now.
No escape! Damn it!
Remus snickers resting his chin on top of Janus’s head as Janus yawns, his forked tongue curling. Janus huffs giving a weak shove at the creative side.
Logan watches fondly “You two seem...rather close? But I suppose that’s a given with the two of you living together down here for so long?”
Remus nods “Something like that, and well-” he shrugs unsure what the right words would be “ I don’t know, I’m wild and feral and got no boundaries, and Dee’s the exact opposite, balance each other, I guess.”
Logan nods, watching amusedly as Janus’s eyes grow heavy.
“You would think that we would hate each other but we kinda just found our own system of things together that works for us…” Virgil used to be part of that too, but well...guess yeah win some you lose some or...whatever that saying is.
Logan hums resting his head near Remus’s “and...you don’t suppose...that I could possibly join this system? I um” Logan clears his throat looking away nervously “I um mean more so if its alright I keep visiting for the most part. You always visit me an-” “yes”
Logan pauses looking to Remus
“Yes, you can come visit, it’s not like we can stop you” Remus smirks at him “think of yourself as an honorary member here, i'll make ya a badge and everything.”
Logan smiles before they both blink and look down, hearing soft sleeping noises coming from Janus, a lil bit of his tongue sticking out as he sleeps.
Remus snickers at that, getting himself more comfy. "Heheh… sleeping snek…"

Of Nightmares and Promises Chapter 2: Gray
Note: This oneshot in Gray's POV, a follow-up to Juvia's oneshot, unexpectedly took me 7 months to complete. More than half of the draft had already been written; I could have posted it earlier with some addition; but I felt that it lacked something. Or perhaps I was afraid, since I was still a new writer back then. In any case, I'm satisfied that my writing has improved tremendously since.
Dedicated to @allie-and-her-fandoms, who was a major source of motivation to write this continuation. Here's a surprise for you girl. I hope I didn't disappoint you.
Next one in this collection of oneshots will probably be Laxus'. Expect some angsty Miraxus coming up!
Word count: 1.5k.
Read this on AO3.
Chapter 1: Juvia
-----------------------------------------------------
Quiet sobs.
The steady beat of the rain tumbling onto the pavement.
Soft whimpers.
The sorrowful symphony slowly filtered into Gray’s sleep-fogged brain and roused him from his slumber. What’s happening? Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, his puzzled gaze instantly landed on the sparkling droplets of water on the window. They slid down helplessly despite the slight friction between their liquid body and the glass panel, leaving behind only disjointed parts of their body in their slippery descent.
It’s raining, he thought sleepily. There was a nagging familiarity about the natural event, almost as though it was teasing him to guess its hidden meaning. However, at such a godforsaken hour, he had neither the mood nor the mental capacity for such trivia games. If the heavens wished to weep and cause a phenomenon known as rainfall upon earth, then they could weep all they wanted. He wasn’t going to give up his precious sleep to spend the night contemplating the mysteries of the universe. Closing his eyes, he turned to lay on his side as he tried to resume his disrupted sleep.
Then it dawned on him.
It was soft, almost inaudible even, but he was almost certain his ears weren’t playing with him – there was a muffled sound of someone crying.
Wait. Rain...
Juvia.
The realisation jolted him awake – any trace of sleepiness now completely gone – and he hurriedly glanced over to the other side of the bed. In a subconscious gesture to either comfort or protect herself, the water mage lied curled on her side in a fetal position. Her face twisted in anguish. “Gray-sama...” his name fell upon her lips in between her strained sobs.
He gently nudged her. “Oi, Juvia.” No use – she showed no signs of waking.
“Juvia tried but she failed,” she whispered, pain lacing each word.
His heart constricted in his chest to see her in this broken state. She was the one experiencing the nightmare, but it hurt him to witness it.
“Wake up and it’ll be fine,” he urged her.
“Juvia is so sorry...”
What was she dreaming to feel sorry for?
Gray pushed aside the stray locks from her forehead – her skin was wet. It was that moment that he noticed she was sweating profusely. Whatever she was dreaming about, it must be intense to invoke such strong reactions from her. Tears silently rolled down her porcelain cheeks. Despite his attempts to pull her from her nightmare, she was lost to him in a torturous realm – one he was all too familiar with.
“Wake up, Juvia,” he pleaded her. It was killing him slowly to see her tormented and being powerless to do a thing.
The ice mage prided himself in having a cold, impenetrable heart. Much like his ice creations, it was solid and incredibly resistant to outside influences. Her cries, however, felt as though someone placed a nail on his heart and pounded mercilessly to create fractures. With each broken call for him, the fractures cracked open.
Just like how Juvia once told him that he kept the rain away, he yearned to prevent her liquid sadness from flowing down her face – now and for as long as he can.
Before he knew what he was doing, he leaned in and placed his lips on her tear-stained cheeks.
Drip.
A tear escaped from the corner of her eye and trailed down.
“Gray-sama.”
Kiss.
His lips caught the elusive tear before it could drop.
“Shh. It’s okay.”
Drip.
No matter how many times she fell apart, he would always be there to catch her.
Kiss.
Down to the last teardrop, he erased their existence with each gentle kiss.
Pulling back, his concerned gaze scanned her face for any signs of distress. To his relief, her features seemed to relax. The iron vise around his heart loosened its grip. His chest immediately felt lighter.
For the first time since he woke up, he could take a breath without feeling strangled.
Lying back down on the bed, he angled his head to watch her. The warm glow of the streetlamps cast a soft spotlight upon her, highlighting her angelic features. Her sapphire tresses was splayed out on the pillow underneath her head. They reminded him of a curved wave frozen in time. He gently pushed back the stray locks on her forehead. She was ethereally beautiful. His heart squeezed in his chest as he took in the sleeping beauty before him. As someone who only experienced heartache all his life, the ice mage didn’t think he was worthy of someone so beautiful and pure.
All I do is scar her.
His gaze dipped down to her abdomen – to where she sacrificed her life for him. The evidence of her suicide was well covered by her nightgown, but he could picture it all too clearly in his mind. Jagged lines winded up and down to narrow peaks, its almost-circular trek engraved forever on the right side of her navel.
Gray wasn’t ashamed by scars, nor did he feel the slightest disgust towards them. His own body exhibited the permanent mark of several scars from years of battling as a mage. None of them bothered him; whether they were large or small; wide or narrow; he only demanded that they were visible to the world.
But Juvia...it didn’t sit right with him for her to have them. Not that he thought they marred her beauty – hell, she was pretty no matter what. It was the history behind the engraved remnants of her sacrifice which troubled him.
If only I was stronger then...Juvia wouldn’t have had to kill herself.
It was my duty to protect her, to keep her safe.
He clenched his fist as an avalanche of failure crashed over him.
And I failed in both for Juvia.
For his entire life, all the people dearest to him had been snatched away. It didn’t matter how strong they were; one by one, they ceased to exist on the physical plane on earth. Though the abrupt conclusion to their story played out in different scenarios, they all shared a crucial common factor – their untimely deaths were all because of him.
Involuntarily, the final memories of his loved ones came flooding back – the disbelief, the immense despair, and the hopelessness – they all hit him like a train wreck.
His father, previously the strongest man in his eyes, now lying immobile in the destruction left by Deliora.
Ur’s motherly smile when she bid farewell to him as ice engulfed her mortal body.
Her daughter, Ultear, trading her priceless youth for him to be granted a second chance at life.
Juvia’s lifeless body, cold and unmoving in his arms.
The tsunami of his painful past threatened to wreck him and drown him under in their onslaught. His tensed muscles began to tremble from the effort of controlling the turbulent emotions which the flashbacks had evoked.
You killed them, a voice hissed inside his head.
He squeezed his eyes shut in an attempt to block them out – the memories, the self-defeating voices, the fears – all of them. I’m not there. I’m not there anymore.
When he opened his eyes, his gaze landed on the soundly asleep form of Juvia. Her lips were slightly parted as she breathed in and out slowly. The nightmares had stopped tormenting her. Seeing her resting peacefully – and breathing – calmed his frayed nerves considerably. His ragged breaths began to slow.
She’s still alive. Here, with me.
The ice mage carefully wrapped his arms around her as he pulled her in close for an embrace. Instantly, she instinctively leaned into his warmth and pressed her face into his naked chest. With that simple trusting gesture, her own warmth spread deeper into his chest to envelope his heart.
For hours, he was content to simply hold her in his arms as she slept. She even snored lightly at one point; this he would never tell her. He couldn’t complain, not when the greatest thing to had ever happened to him was lying in his bed.
He didn’t sleep a wink that night.
Not from her snores, but from the thoughts that raced through his mind and the plans he dared to envision – all of which involved a particular sapphire-haired woman. His dreams splashed every inch of his greyscale mental landscape with bright, invigorating colours of spring. Like the plants which grow from the emergence of the sun after the rain, the seeds of his wishes quickly sprouted to form endless possibilities together with her.
In the near future, they wouldn’t just be mere visions his mind conjured up. No – he would make them materialise into the real world.
When dawn arrived with its hopeful transformation from darkness to light, the ice mage was set with his conviction.
I don’t deserve you, but I will become a man worthy of you, Juvia.
Placing a chaste kiss on her forehead, he sealed his unspoken promise to her.
I’ll keep you safe.
