Then Malanite gained emotions, btw i’m just gonna call her Mal it’s easier. Malanite fell HARD for Sarah, and they were together. Then on the third day, this (WARNING BIG BAD WORD) motherfucker named Shadow came along. He is-...”was” a level ten asshole. I still don’t trust him but whatever sure he had a redemption arc. BnHA Chapter 249: Todoroki Taco Night

Previously on BnHA: Nothing happened at all, because the manga was on break last week! Fortunately the anime had finally resumed after a billion years (estimation; exact length of time may be slightly off), so we had that to take the edge off in the meantime. Except we didn’t, because the anime also ended up going on break due to a rugby game or some shit. So that was nice. On a related note, when I die I’d like the Basement arc to lower me into my grave, so it can let me down one last time.

Anyway, Endeavor did some mentoring and gave Shouto and Kacchan a power-up assignment and told Deku to work on Air Force to help him master the fine control he needs for the Bloop. Then Fuyu called a week later and was all “HEY DAD, DINNER, OUR PLACE, TONIGHT, BRING THE KIDS.” And then as previously mentioned, we waited two whole fucking weeks and MY GOD, my body is ready, on to the new chapter we go!

Today on BnHA: Shouto, Katsuki, and Deku are cordially invited to Todosmith Farms for an evening of food and fun! They make it approximately six minutes into dinner before Natsu loses it and exits with more theatrics than a spurned reality TV show contestant. Baku and Deku spend the next hour being all “!!!” at each other back and forth, and whispering about how fucking dramatic the Todorokis are, which fully kills me and is my favorite thing ever to happen in the world. Deku then begins to guide Shouto through his personal healing process like fucking Mufasa booming at Simba from the heavens, and meanwhile Endeavor listens in while quietly kneeling before HIS DEAD SON’S PHOTOGRAPH, IN THE SHRINE THEY BUILT FOR SAID DEAD SON IN HIS BEDROOM, and sorrowfully wishing he could do more for his family. Anyways so I’m in ruins now, but otherwise fine. How are you?

anyways I tried not to look at the pic for too long -- once I realized what I was looking at, I averted my eyes -- but he does look like Dabi, I think. oh shit guys. it’s really fucking happening

and I also didn’t get a good enough look to determine whether this was a photo of Touya (that Deku or whoever happened to spot while visiting the Todochester Mystery House for the much-hyped dinner) or a flashback image (in which he is just standing really fucking still for some reason and staring directly at the camera), so I guess we’ll see. but anyways, Deku and Kacchan didn’t come all the way down to Todoroki taco night to not have their evening peppered with intricate family drama and reopened wounds and hysterical conspiracy theories, so you had better keep them goddamn entertained! lord knows the Todorokis don’t do small talk. this is literally their only way of spicing things up so their guests don’t die of sheer awkwardness while Endeavor sits in stony silence and Shouto just stuffs his face with soba all night

-they both can face the reality. baku cant face the fact that he isnt sthe strongest. shiggy cant face the fact that he killed his own family even if its just a accident. thats why they both have explosive personality

-baku got everything he wanted. also shiggy was raised like that too but difference is no one gave shiggy a love and its really horrible if you really think about it.

4-TODOROKİ SHOUTO

- shouto s mom poured boiling water into the face of his own son. maybe he didnt meant to do it. but still, it was the most painfull memory for shouto. this was what made him traumatized

look at shiggy s father s reaction. similar to shouto s mom s reaction. scared and insane. in that scene, there was an aeron. big posibility, he hit his son with that aeron. this case is also explains that shiggy s keep saying "sorry, father” and his wounds on his right eye and his lips. he is blaming himself, this is also what made him traumatized

shouto loved his mom but his hearth was broken when her mom did that. shgaraki loved hs father the most maybe but after his father s reaction...they both needed the person they loved the most but they werent there for them. “the ones we loved the most are the ones who hurts us the most”

-endeavour educated shouto with his own methods. shouto basically lived in a different world from others. he never had friends, he never socialzae with other kids, he never had proper relationship (until the fight with deku). this is why he is so sad at empathize with other people thats why he cant always understand normal situtions cause he is not used to it

shigaraki was also raised/educated like that but with worse version. he never lived as a human. he lived as an outsider from society. did you ever think why afo talked with him with computer without screen? the reason is to prevent him from establishing empathy. shigaraki never had friends and probably never had a relationship, never even had a proper conversaiton with other people. this is why he cant empathize with others.  and a lot of things.

5- AFO S BROTHER / FIRST WIELDER OF ONE FOR ALL

-they both were a prisoner of Afo. and their apperances are similar to each others. afo manipulated both of them. and interesting part, deku saw this in his dream. not just this, he also saw how afo manipulated people :)

6- DEKU

they had nothing but then their "savior" came when they lost their path. someone gave them a purpose to live. (well in this case, shigaraki s condition is definitely worse and full of manipulation though). season 1: shigaraki fight the heroes at the first time deku fight the villains at the first time after then, afo: shigaraki tomura, next time, show the world that they need to afraid of you! allmight: midoriya izuku, in spor festival, i want to tell the world "i am here!" season 2: deku lost in spor festival to todoroki. shigaraki lost stain in stain arc. also these panels:

they both lost their masters/fathers 

and now, their turn 

season 4: deku vs mirio shigaraki vs overhaul who is a better sucessor. and they proved theirselves 

deku is really heroic and such a good hearth but he is very unlucky, like he is cursed. shigaraki is a tragedy character. his life is cursed. they always have hard times in their own way. (i know you think shigaraki is evil but no, he is not.) these both characters have a lot of similarities but at the same time, they are opposite. like shigaraki is "save me", deku is "i will save you". or deku is really selfless but compared to deku, shigaraki is selfish. they both wants completely different things. but actually they have a lot of similiraties too. they both lost childs and trying to find what they want.

they are both gratefull characters. deku always gratefull even when people around him did nothing for him, he is still ok. shigaraki is abandoned child basically but even he is a criminal, he is really gratefull to afo and kurogiri cause he thinks they saved him. (well they did opposite though). in shigaraki s mind, life is something worthless, because of this feeling he cant care other people. but he is being gratefull when someone did something for him. also another similarity, they both deserves better. deku did a lot of good things he deserves every beatifull things in the world, shigaraki is just a so tragic, sad and pitifull character ....., he had too much pain, no one deserves to be in pain, especially this much, so after he pay his crimes, he deserves to be happy too. (also author said that he is like a fairy tail boy, it means shigaraki was really cheerfull kid like deku when he was a kid) blah blah blah. shigaraki is just a kid who lost his hope, deku is like symbole of hope. and blah blah blah. there are other similiraties too, but i am tired so...hopefuly you got me, they are same and different at the same time :) like soulmates.

-also we know deku will have a six quirks. and i believe nana s quirk was decay (cause shigaraki really similar to her and casue of these gloves thing) so in the future, deku wil have too. and again, he will understand shigaraki better than before. like its all for to deku s understanding shigaraki.

-well lets be honest. every character in bnha could be like shigaraki. also, thinnk about all parallels about him. think about how much victim he is. think about what is this story all about. think about deku s heroic soul.

we all know shigaraki would be completely different person if someone saved him just in time, he would be good person big posibility. also eventually deku would learn shigaraki s past or even he knows nothing, he will see shigaraki s pain. then what would deku say? “yeah he was a victim, but now he is criminal and hurting others. its too late” really would deku say “its too late to someone”? i mean really? we are talking about deku right now. come onnnnn. tragic victim always have tragic endings? i mean, we have a main character who can change the future!!!

maybe greatest villain means the most dangerous villain? he most dangerous villain is isnt the most evil, is the one who is in pain the most, i think. also it doesnt mean he wont pay his crimes. he will still pay it, also we have to stop him. and deku and others are learning to “save and win at the same time” then what would happen if the person that you must defeat and save is the same person?! simple. DEFEAT HIM AND SAVE HIM.

also if deku couldnt save shigaraki, would he say “this is the story how i became the greatest hero”? i dont think so. there is no way he could call himself even a “hero”, if he cant save shigaraki. so definitely he should save him cause this is all about.  dont believe its too late. NEVER TOO LATE TO SAVE SOMEONE. especially we have a victim like shigaraki, there is no way we can leave him like that cause if we ignore his pain, shigaraki will be abandoned by the world for the second time. so i think he should be saved. i think this is what it should be. of course it wont be easy, but it has to be like this otherwise, honestly i would be really disappointed, my opinion. shigaraki is a blowback of this society and you shouldnt kill/destroy blowback. yeah deku and shigaraki are parallel but you shouldnt kill or destroy your parallel. you should save him. yeah shigaraki will go so far but it woul be best if he could turn be a good person again and pay his crimes while living. it would be millions times better than killing him. cause killing him means all this sad scenes for was just making a drama. also stoppng him doesnt mean we have to kill him and deku wont do something like that. i would perefer shigaraki have redemption arc and have happy ending too even though he became a greatest villain. he deserves it and he has a great potential to be a good person. well its my opinion. i hope it can happen.

It’s bad opinions all around, self-preservation-wise. That’swhat happens when you’re a shady ass motherfucker. (1) would likely be veryunappealing for many reasons, and leaves everyone wanting to kill him. (2) isalso unappealing–because you know who elseis a vengeful bastard? Severus damn Snape. And from the second Voldemort wentafter (and then killed) Lily, Snape wuzdone. He had no ties to the Death Eater cause, except for the personal power and validation it seemedto give him. His ties have always been to his own self-interest. Voldemortsevered that self-interest by threatening Lily, and Snape called it dunzo. Thereis no reason for him to change his mind about that now. We know he’s still hung up on Lily. It’s his sick raison d'être. And added bonus: Dumbledore would be after him likea fiend, and likely would straight-uptell Voldie that Snape once spied, and then it’s bye-bye Snape. (3) See abovere: vengeful bastards, where Voldemort would hunt Snape down as a traitor likewhoah. (4) No one wants to kill him. Unless he gets caught. Then Voldemort definitely wants to kill him. But Voldemortalso wants to kill him in basically every other scenario, too. Honestly, that’s the hill I’m really going to live and dieon. I have high doubts that Snape’s motivations for spying were pure and for thecause, because it was the right thing to do, but even if they were: that does not erase the previoustwo decades of being a generally horrible, selfish, abusive motherfucker, who only got on this side of the fight because he was personally manipulated and betrayed. Itjust doesn’t. And so a “heroic”action does not make a hero. It doesn’t even make an anti-hero. It makes…aninteresting character in which to look at the themes of good vs. evil that are prevalentin the book, but which should ultimately leave you at the same point: Snape isnot a hero.

I really like this quote because of “lately”. Oohhh, you know, lately. It emphasizes the fact that,once upon a time, Snape was DeathEater who blithely watched men and women die from the wrong side of the goodvs. evil war line and didn’t raise a hand to stop it until it affected himpersonally. Just as, you know, a reminder.

But here we are now, inside the “lately”. And the thing is,I’m actually more inclined to believe this line is a more general reference toHarry, the primary person Snape has been trying to save and has just learned,lol, jokes, Dumbly needs him dead. But to be generous about it, in the courseof his spying throughout OoTP/HBP, I’m sure Snape’s information saved people. Maybethat’s what he means here. Not tugging people out of the way of a ravenous werewolf(lol who did dat?), but saving with his espionage. And I’m sure he did that,not because he valiantly wanted to save these people as individuals, butbecause their lives were bodies on his side in the fight to defeat Voldemort.Snape wanted to defeat Voldemort. Voldemort killed Lily. Snape hated him for killing Lily. Even laterin that EXACT SAME CONVERSATION, when Snape is so horrified about whatDumbledore has done to Harry, when Dumbledore asks if his anger is because hecares for Harry, Snape’s response is LITERALLY “For him?” ACTIVE SCOFF. Then heproduces his patronus. Even Harry, the single person Snape has ACTIVELY BEENATTEMPTING TO SAVE THE MOST, has not come to affect Snape personally. He’s ameans to an end. For Snape, this is ALL ABOUT LILY–or really, this selfish,more-about-him-than-her, tunnel-vision, unhealthy obsession with avenging her. THAT’Shis motivation for everything, his love that’s not even really love because he’s a broken man who doesn’t know what thatmeans. (BUT THAT’S ANOTHER STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY.)

So…what’s the argument? That Snape’s spying may have saved lives, and that makes him a hero? Again, I go back to: motivation,motivation, motivation. His actions may be good, but Snape is not. He can givetwo shits about the collateral damage or collateral victories that go on here.It’s all about him and what isimportant to him.

My darling, no one hada good image of Snape. Nooooo onnnnne. If you’re talking about the members ofthe Order of the Phoenix and their ilk believing that Snape betrayed them…like,it wasn’t a far jump. Most of them never trusted him in the first place. So hejust kind of cemented his spot as a dubious character. It was prettyuniversally acknowledged that Snape is a miserable son of a bitch. After Dumbledore’s death, he’sa murderous traitor, miserable son of a bitch. If Snape ever once cared aboutany of these people’s opinions, maybe this would be a valid argument. ExceptSnape cares about no one. So…what?

I think it’s important to remember that even in his timeduring OoTP/HBP where we see Snape as an active member of the Order…this isn’tsomeone who’s looking for community or redemption or even camaraderie-in-a-joint-causefrom the group around him. Snape seemed to give fuck-all about every one of them. He’dbeen living his miserable, isolated life exactly the same way and wasn’tlooking to change it. He was on a mission to defeat Voldemort for his ownreasons. That. Is. Fact.

Sooo…I don’t know. Where does this leave us? I’m back to mysame Hill Point, really: Bad people do good things. That doesn’t automaticallymake them good people. Snape is not a good person.

Last Encore was............ a weird experience? And I don’t mean that in a “lololol sooooooo weird I have obviously never had a shaft experience in my entire life” kind of weird. SHAFT is my fucking brand, man. Spring quarter I binge-watched all of monogatari because of how on-brand it was for me. I love their weird conceptual symbolic bullshit and their playing with framing and style even when they aren’t switching up the actual artstyle, but i digress.

Opinions for like the first......... 5ish? (Shinji’s Floor and Dan’s Floor) episodes under the cut. I actually wanted to just do everything but those two arcs get me so heated I needed to rant about what was wrong with them.

Basically, for me:

1st episode - cool. loving purgatory.

2 - 5 episodes....... just felt like a gigantic waste of time tbh. Namely because at that point in the series it feels like there isn’t a clear vision for what needs to be told; SHAFT is weird, yeah, and “hard to get” or whatever, but for their own IPs, at least, it’s clear that they DO have a vision, even if they have a roundabout way of getting there. Shinji and Dan’s episodes feel...... floundering. There isn’t enough substance for them to anchor themselves other than “ooooooooh what could be gOiNg ONNNNN?!?!” and to the viewer, it’s annoying. Even on a rewatch, where it technically makes sense now, there’s not enough emotional depth to any of it to warrant...... anything, really.

At that point in the series it’s clear that the target audience isn’t “new viewers” or else literally nothing makes sense, but it’s also EXTREMELY alienating to anyone who played the OG EXTRA because, at least in that point in time, it feels like almost a..... slap to the face? One of the most striking parts of EXTRA is that very first week; we see Shinji, known Mother Fucker with a face and personality so punchable it really doesn’t matter if you played FSN or not who........ turns out to be 6 years old. And, unlike in other Fate installments, Masters do not have the liberty of saving other Masters. Part of the tragedy of EXTRA is that no one (save for clown and pre-CCC Gatou - but even then he’s just like an idiot, and like....... Julius, until you learn how fucked his life is) actually deserves to die. Many of them (including Shinji) don’t even realize that it’s really fucking real that you’re going to die if you lose. Talking to NPCs and seeing them have to take lives and how they react to all of that is a fundamental part of the story...... as is seeing the school slowly grow more and more empty, one by one.

And looking back on that, on the original, emotional impact, Shinji’s days especially just feel like a complete waste. They spent two episodes on him to do what amounts to absolutely nothing. At least Dan, while his storyline here kind of feels like a huge slap in the face, still had some emotional depth by bringing up his wife and the verrrryyyyy last second and like. that one line with robin.

And in both of their cases I feel like too much is wasted keeping everything a mystery from the viewer. Alice’s arc works and works AMAZINGLY because you’re seeing it from her perspective. I honestly, honestly think that Shinji and Dan’s arcs would have benefited from and least partially being from the PoV of Drake/Robin respectfully. We still wouldn’t need to know everything that’s going on, but seeing how the way things “should be” in their eyes vs. Kishinami’s reality would have provided emotional depth while also hinting at the nature of this story pre-Alice arc. Or, even if they wanted to keep the mystery, having shots of Shinji thinking about Rider - because we KNOW Rider actually Kind of means a Ton to Shinji ala CCC - and how maybe not being worthy of her help in favor of half-baked data he got from other Masters actually does kind of hurt. Maybe hurts in a very Shinji tch-ing about how worthless the “shadow” servants are, but still thinking of her wistfully nonetheless. Same with Rider maybe looking on and some reference to him being a “stupid kid who never learns”. Even that, with just like two extra scenes showing them thinking of each other with all the baggage that comes along with that, could’ve given more depth to the eventual team up and conclusion of their arc. As it stands it was just....... nothing.

Dan...... Dan was done dirty tbh. They spent a lot of time with PUNISHED DAN without any, like...... explanation or redemption??? Dan is a good man and he deserved better. Like, even if you want to make him PUNISHED EDGELORD you gotta balance it all out with flashbacks of who he should’ve been and/or Robin purposefully sabotaging himself and DRAWING ATTENTION to the fact he could’ve won “like this” - aka shady dirty way he’s known for - rather than trying to fight head on (they sorta did this in his last fight with Saber, and it’s reaffirmed when he goes to Dan’s grave and says something along the lines of “Looks like I’m really not cut out for a fair fight) but there’s no attention brought to it in scene and................. tbh Shaft ain’t really known for action scenes so while I noticed it, it was still kinda like “oh, did they mean to do this or.....” and then at the end of the episode like “oh i guess it was intentional” but at that point the emotional impact it could’ve served ESPECIALLY if Robin had purposefully “thrown” the battle by fighting fair and openly because he wanted to honor the man he once served, even if he could’ve totally bested Saber - that would’ve been MUCH more impactful than what actually happened.

and, in the end, I guess my grievances with those two arcs are summed up by - EXTRA was never the journey of just one person. In OG extra, Hakuno is forged in the flames of the trials they must go through. No Master’s story is ever shafted because by shafting them and the emotional impact they bring to the table, you also shaft Hakuno’s emotional development; by writing strong antagonizing Masters, by making them complex and emotional journeys, Hakuno also benefits as the protagonist. Their choices, their pain, what they choose to do or not do is weighted by the experiences they have over the course of the game with these other Masters. So when whoever did the script for the first two Last Encore character arcs - because that’s really what each floor is, a character arc - says “making this soooooo mysterious is worth more than making a complicated narrative” it does Hakuno an injustice in that his story isn’t furthered as far as “deaD FaCE?!?!?!” “so...... much........ hate...... why.......................” goes

My random ass theories on Infinity War

I have watched the trailer maybe 1000 times and I spend 7 hours during work hours analyzing it. I had to finally stop writing my theories on post-its at work. So here it is! This is not spoilers as I am completely guessing... so don't come at me :)

- Iron Man is going to die saving his adopted son, Spidey in Infinity War

- Bearded hottie Cap is going to die in Avengers 4

- I don't think that all of the Asgardians will die, I think Valkyrie and Heimdall will most likely escape with a small group of them.. maybe to Wakanda? This would explain the separation of the group from Thor Ragnarok.

- Thor is beat up and thrown across space until he meets Star Lord and Co.

- Hulk falls into Dr. Strange's cribs. The fall helps him transform into Bruce Banner. The second time he transforms into the HULK is in Wakanda, where he meets black widow (maybe after he is in the Hulkbuster?.. who knows!)

- Loki will mostly like die in Avengers 4 saving Thor, this will be his final redemption after the whole tesseract business with Thanos. I don't think that Loki gave it away willingly.

- I think Wakanda is getting attacked because they have the soul stone (maybe in Wakanda or maybe because Heimdall is there.. See point 3)

- I do think Heimdall has the soul stone

- Vision will likely just become an AI, no more powers for him

- I think Nebula might sacrifice herself to ensure Thanos is killed

- Regarding Dr. Strange... I have no theories for him... if Thanos completes the Infinity Gauntlet, I don't know where that leaves him...useless?

- Winter soldier most likely becomes future Cap

- War Machine most likely becomes Iron Man
