Imagine: Cleo being introduced in season 1 and joining the pogues, entering in a relationship with both JJ and Pope (who would already have kissed by episode 6).

Sarah siding with Rafe because that's her brother, but allying herself with the Pogues to take down Ward and get the gold.

JJ killing someone to protect the Pogues and them dealing with the circumstances and hiding the body.

An Outer Banks exploring morality, addictions, mental illnesses and relationships.

I saw something on twitter saying that when JJ rescued Sarah during the storm, he should have disappeared. And then he could have shown up in the last episode of s5 as a farewell. But instead Rudy has forced us to watch one of our fave characters die and receive the most unsatisfying ending

I haven’t finished s4 yet but what would have made WAY more sense is if:

Groff was abusive to Larissa

Larissa turns to Luke for comfort, eventually they fall in love

The baby is Luke’s

Groff finds out and is so angry that he lashes out, driving Larissa to kill herself and the baby

At the last minute, Luke saves the baby from dying. So Luke’s forced to take care of him and protect him from Groff, which then leads Luke to being resentful of JJ over the years

obx season 4’s biggest downfall is the emphasis on romantic relationships at the cost of friendships. Too many scenes have the couples paired up, but I want to see Cleo’s growing relationship with Kie and Sarah, or JJ and John B as besties. The reason why s1 was so strong was because of the friendships and larger group dynamic
