And on screen 3, we see the relaxing game itself! Playing in front of the Snow Village door -- which is now appropriately snowy -- we get a litle game screen filled with familiar monster friends.

Zooming in for the appreciation factor here: We're apparenly playing a match-3 game with the Woman in the Rain, the Snow Village girl, the Sunny Doll teacher, the nurse from Waverly Hills (even though her outfit is blue), and Sako's left leg. There's also little yellow kaleidoscope squares and ... whatever the pink thing is. What's the pink thing? Someone else help me identify the pink thing. It looks like it has a little face on it. There seems to be one down at the bottom of the screen, like some kind of power-up, but there it lacks a face.

The genius of Satan's character design

Can we please talk about how amazing the devs created Satan??

First, his demon form is almost completely opposite from Lucifer's but still has call backs. Satan has a tail but no wings, and Lucifer has wings but no tail. Satan's horns are essentially the same as Lucifer's horns, just upside down. Satan has his feather boa, which could be interpreted as a call back to Lucifer and his feathers. Satan is depicted in a couple pictures with these feathers ripped out, in his hands, his mouth, or laying on the ground near by. This could be him and his rage towards Lucifer, consciously or not. He rageful because of Lucifer, so it can be inferred that him ripping out these feathers is his way of rebelling. Satan's tail is coiled around his leg, as it to exhibit control over himself and to make it less noticeable, while Lucifer's wings are spread at least halfway, to display his love and/or pride for them. Satan's tail is also scaly or spiny looking. It looks armored and could probably be used as a weapon, which is the complete opposite from Lucifer's wings, which are probably pleasant to touch.

Satan's hair is just blond. Lucifer's hair is black with highlights. However, their part lines are basically the same and their hair is styled suspiciously similar. Satan's eyes are green. Lucifer's eyes are red. Lucifer wears gloves, and Satan does not. Even their stances mirror each other with their own variations. Lucifer has his right hand on his hip and Satan has his left hand on his hip (maybe it's the other way around lol idk). Lucifer has his other hand on his chest while Satan has his in the air. Even their resting faces are the same, although this might just be the face the om devs like to use. Lucifer has peacock feathers plastered all over his outfit, but there's not a single hint of Satan's animal

The rest I have to say is reaching, but still noticed while comparing them. Satan is wearing a white undershirt and Lucifer is wearing a black one. Lucifer is not wearing a tie, or bowtie. Satan has the most extravagant tie I have ever seen. Lucifer's pants are cuffed, Satan's are not. Lucifer's shoes have a heel, shoelaces, and are considered dress shoes. Satan's shoes are none of these things, and are most likely a casual shoe. With their outfits, dress shoes are in order, but why Satan isn't wearing some are strange. Lucifer has that overcoat, jacket thing and Satan isn't wearing a jacket, or is wearing that sweater over the button up if you want to count that. Satan, belt and pockets. Lucifer, no pockets and no belt.

I could literally go on forever about how much I adore the detail placed into the character designs. If I see something I missed, I'll come back and add onto this post

(Kyo surmised that this sudden flexibility was a result of her recent workouts with Sakura and Hina. Good for her.) After getting a satisfying eyeful, the detective admired the rest of her outfit.

Over the black leotard was a bolero jacket of the same color, which had gold buttons, ruffled sleeves, and three long coat-tails which were cleverly swept aside as to not block his view of her peachy posterior. Additionally, her usual shoulder-length hazelnut-hair was tied into a ponytail with a black ribbon, she wore royal-red gloves on her hands, and a black choker around her neck. Finally, he looked at her legs to see that she was wearing thigh-length hose and stiletto lace-up pumps*ngl I had to google the name of those*, which greatly accentuated her thighs and caboose.

"What's wrong, detective?~ I'm only in the middle of my heist for your heart, and you can't even take your eyes off me~. Is my outfit that appealing to you?~ *ahem*— I-Is it?..." Makoto spoke in an alluring voice before not so subtly and timidly asking for her boyfriend's approval.

This is not a coherent list. Mostly just my rambling thoughts on them. In introduction order!

Eiden: How could you not love our sweet little switch? He's such a joy to experience the story thorough and his pure and honest care for everyone makes it easy to see how they've all fallen for him. Kinky and caring, rolls with the punches, gets passionate on his loved one's behalf, easy to empathize with; I adore him (which is why I bothered to pull for him enough times to have his only unit be at 3*)

Aster: I love a dominate twink. I do find it hilarious that he got kinks people usually balk at in his few sex scenes (foot job and sounding). I love how he is the businessman of the team. What I learned about his past when Huey was still around made me want to cry. Support his desire to collect and spoil cute monsters. Hate that the devs refuse to give him more cards because he isn't a clan member. WHY GIVE HIM ANY CARDS IF YOU WILL NEVER RELEASE NEW ONES???? HE HAS FANS TOO!!!

Morvay: I love this big idiot (affectionate). He is always trying his best, even if he thinks with his stomach/asshole. I only want good things for him and am upset at the current story making me wait to see if he is alright! Give my succubus back! Same critique as with Aster: HE HAS FANS! WHY REFUSE TO GIVE HIM NEW CARDS??? It's such a dumb rule.

Yakumo: Someone please get this boy some confidence and self-worth. I cannot stand to watch him be so insecure when all I want to do is kiss his adorable face and tell him he is wonderful and perfect. His protective nature despite his belief he is not good enough moves me to fucking tears. Someone... This boy needs way more love.

Edmond: Cannot comment. I have no interest in him. He's just not my thing. He is very pretty though.

Olivine: Slutty priest makes brain go brrrrrr. I am just... the way his parents pushed him but he honestly tries so hard for everyone! I love him! He's not my favorite, but every time I read his cards I feel like I fall in love with him for the first time all over again and I do not know how to explain it.

Quincy: Okay, stop. Listen. I just... He's old. He's so old that he has seen people be born and die and leave him behind and he's tired physically, emotionally, and mentally. He has this barrier set up to protect himself, but to see Eiden break down that barrier and get Quincy wanting to be close to another person with a finite lifespan again? FUCK ME! Topper: Clearly the best character in the game. All power to Master Twilight Star-Show Max Lucifer Topper III!!!! I love how he gets his own outfit to match Quincy's during events.

Kuya: Much the same I said about Quincy, but in a more spicy flavor. He has the added bonus of being a yokai, creatures that have... questionable relationships with humans. He has lived so long that life has lost it's appeal to him as there is nothing worth living for; not knowledge, not power, not people. He's reached ennui and literally cannot see the point of his own life (we see a past version of him debating killing himself in one card). Eiden though? Eiden has brought that small spark of joy back into his life. He fucks with Eiden and can often take it in a direction that seems too far from a human perspective, but he never genuinely allows Eiden to come to harm. He is genuinely excited (in a subtle way) when he learns something new, and seems to be happy when his cynical view of the world is disproven (though he tries not to show it). Eiden has allowed him to open up to the world again, especially because Eiden doesn't forcibly bash his lived experience but also doesn't roll over and accept Kuya's bad traits. I love Kuya. He is my favorite. Also, he somehow got a shit ton of my kinks and I... yeah...

Garu: Cute puppy boy. He gets head scratches and wags his tail. I love how genuine he is. Garu is exactly who he says he is in every way and it is very refreshing. I just want to love and spoil him.

Karu: I admit... Karu is not my cup of tea. It may be because I'm not actually a fan of bratty tsunderes. It can be cute sometimes, but most of the time I find myself rolling my eyes and missing Garu. A shame because I usually like characters that have two conflicting personalities.

Blade: SOMEONE GET HIM A HUG!!!! He was alone for so long in that forest and he deserves better. I'm so glad he found Eiden and came out of there, away from that loneliness and waiting. Every time he defaults back into droid mode I get sad because I want him to enjoy being alive and being in love. Every time he says "Darling" my brain turns off and I wake up hours later with no memories.

Dante: It is hilarious how he innocent he really is while trying to act like the king. Eiden plays him like a fiddle. Hearing his past can make me sad though. I mean... Why does this game keep hurting our boys like this????

Rin: Why hot if evil? He has an eye mask and a tongue piercing... I am a weak person. I have things I like and he has them. I also want to slap him though because he hurt the boys I love! Also... yeah... I need the story here...

Oh yeah, absolutely! I was gonna go over the sea critter demons in subsequent posts... but I guess I could leave some thoughts here-

I have no idea what these two are but they're Very Silly. The big ole ruffles and hats/sleeves contrasting their skeletal bodies give them a fun look. Guessing they're from Greed, since it's also green and circus themed? But they don't resemble any kind of hellborn demon we know, nor are they sinners, since those can't access other rings. I think that means there are a lot more local species in Hell than we've been shown! (Still waiting to see those "possessors" whose existence was suggested on the mafia sharks ref sheet. There's also "dealmakers", I think? We're on to season two and stuff like this is still super unclear. Pretty sad.)

This is Limón and I love him. He looks so chill. The type of guy you'd smoke weed with. You can observe another case of "compulsively giving characters chokers" syndrome but he makes it work. And I like his hairstyle too. In conclusion, he's a cutie.

I just can't understand the people simping over Chaz when this dude is literally right here. I mean, c'mon.

(My only gripe is the fleshy gap around his arm like a chewed apple core. It makes him look... zombie-like? Bones occasionally sticking out of shark demons is one thing, but this makes him appear less demonic and more undead. Also raises all sorts of questions.)

Fella on the right is Turkoyz and they're nonbinary! Ain't that nice representation. Especially when it's a background character you'll miss entirely if you blink at the wrong time and has no in-episode indication of their identity whatsoever.

...Okay, that was salty. I just feel like, for a queer show, they could use to have at least one openly nonbinary character.

But I like their design. Funky stripes and color scheme. Nice tank top and collar. As for the jellyfish, they're cool and delightfully creature-like, but there happens to be another jellyfish demon that I prefer...

I just think she's adorable. The flower is... a bit weird, with the pentagram detail (it's small, yet intricate, which makes it stand out amidst the otherwise broad and simple shapes), but she's just an armless girlie in a big ole ball of jelly, with tiny horns. Which is so real of her. I also like the purple.

Ah, Alessio. The guy everyone and their grandmother ships with Crimson. I think he's alright. Colors are alright, shapes are alright. (The red was inevitable.) Dude's got neck for days, too, which makes him stand out.

Took me way too long to realize that the tapeworm protrusions on his tail are actually a hook lodged into it. Distracted me for a hot moment, but I suppose it's fine.

Stu also has the red. I'm a bit "meh" on that particular red with his pinkish skin, but I do appreciate him overall. He's a succubus hybrid, which is neat. However he should NOT have hair. It looks so weird. Let him be bald.

Cool clowns! I like their desaturated outfits. First one is very shaped with the curves vs triangles. I worry for the second one, though... where are your feet?!

And Stella's rich asshole friends. Felt compelled to not separate the pair, partly because I like the lady's curves (she's not big, but just about the closest we'll get) and the sort of Cleopatra hairdo she has going on. In any case she's more refined looking than the guy, who's quite scruffy and gangly, but fun nonetheless. (Not as fun to animate, I imagine, with that many individual feathers... good thing he only gets a handful of shots to his name.)

I actually LOVE Evelyn and Caleb comparisons in Hunter ships, but they have to be well written and natural. It would be one thing if h/l shippers were like, writing fics where they actually built up to a situation where a comparison between Evelyn and Willow made sense, but it seems like they’d rather just pretend “uh Willow and Evelyn are so similar because uh… they’re both witches, and also girls?”

Oh, yeah, you're preaching to the choir here. I absolutely ADORE Caleb and Evelyn comparisons for Hunter ships, especially because Cat and Hunter are MAJOR comparisons to their predecessors with Hunter being Caleb's Grimwalker (obv), but technically still sort of a witch while Cat is a Clawthorne (by adoption like Luz), but is technically still sort of a human. Add in the flavor text that Philip idolizes her to the point of almost making her out to be Saint-like due to the fact that she's a hunter and is "ridding the human realm of demons and witches and evils" just like he tried to do back in his time & is doing presently in the Boiling Isles, only for him to find out she's Just Like Evelyn, still a wild witch a la Luz, and has stolen his "brother" away yet again. It's just like Belos' life is a series of going "Oh God dammit, not again how does this keep happening" lmao. But that is a good comparison. I would even go so far as to say Hunter and Luz (platonically, I Do Not Ship like that) are a really good Evelyn and Caleb comparison for the exact same reason (minus the flavor text lmao).

But my own life aside, that is literally what they're doing. I once saw someone say a H/l tried to make a Willow & Evelyn comparison based on Willow's Halloween costume & the fact that in Masha's story the cut-out of Evelyn has a demon tail and classic witch outfit despite that being a nasty and untrue caricature of her in the first place, meant to look insulting to Evelyn lmfao. The most they've got is being witches and girls. I know we don't know anything really about Evelyn's personality other than being in love with Caleb and being a wild witch, but I'd wager to say she was probably a lot like Eda considering that's what the half a second shot of her design most resembled & the fact that Belos hunted Eda down so hard and disposed of Lilith once he'd gotten her & had her set to be petrified. It's almost like he wanted her dead just based on the fact that she reminded him of Evelyn.

Shadow and Zero/ Infinite’s son

At the moment, he is like 4 years old and acts like a puppy, sticking to his parents and siblings and constantly following them or hiding behind there legs. He's kind of like Max from max and ruby he doesn't talk much and when he does it's one word sentences and it's just to get something. He's literally a sick child what else do you expect.

His relationships with his siblings are positive compared to other times, Meg thinks he’s adorable and Seven likes having a younger sibling like the rest of her friends.

I'm stuck between his origin being the main project of trying to create a living weapon and Seven being the prototype but she emerged early and he just called it a day and kept Viper in suspended animation for like 15 years, Zero and Shadow wanting another kid, or Tails making him like Eggman without permission. Either way they have another kid that I'm gonna kill off.

-unlike Seven he is unstable and goes to the doctors pretty often, mostly due to him getting sick a lot (he’s been in and out of the hospital since he was born)

-if Viper grew up he would be pretty powerful and maybe a threat

I did literally just say I love Sonic now more than ever so gonna offset my last post about Prime being negative by mentioning a few things I really like about Prime.

One of the biggest ones is just how dope it looks! Really fun stylised 3D animation that looks smooth and has a good focus on like, keyframing and strong poses - combined with the really expressive mdoels it’s a style that really works for Sonic and I can’t wait for more even just to see how it looks.

And on visuals, I really like the character designs! Part of the reason I grind Sonic Dash so hard or why I bought the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is because getting any official opportunity to see the characters in alternate outfits is usually just super fun, especially because of how strict SEGA usually is with that stuff. Prime meanwhile comes around and has given us like 3 extra outfits for several of the core cast with still more to come! That’s just blanket really fun!

I also like that Sonic’s new looks tend to give him neat little abilities. Narratively it doesn’t amount to much but I don’t even feel like it has to - it’s a neat surprise factor/rule of cool thing that adds character to whichever universe we’re in and enhances Sonic’s reactions to those places as well. If anything it’d honestly be cool to have something like that in the games lol.

I like the voice acting a lot! I actually can’t meaningfully expand on that one lol, it just sounds really good, everyone feels well cast to me, it doesn’t feel like many awkward line reads made it through to the final thing. They are just nice. The only person I don’t adore is Eggman but even then, A) I so can’t imagine non-Mike Pollock Eggmen and B) actual Eggman is mostly absent in favour of Mister Doctor Eggman so I’m pretty much solid with it anyway.

I really enjoy New Yoke as a setting a lot. “What if the villain won?” is a classic setting for a reason, even being one that multiple pieces of Sonic media have explored, but I think New Yoke manages to feel particularly fresh even just on execution and aesthetic alone. It helps that it still feels very lived in - there’s a living, breathing population and a band of rebels that operate in secret and there’s Nine’s hideout and just like, cool shit going on lol.

For that matter I like Nine a lot. I literally put Tails as my 5th favourite Sonic character in that list I did a while back and he’s been in virtually every single Sonic game even during some of its most intense Solo Sonica eras - but he can feel very relegated to the background because of the nature of his character sometimes? So it’s really awesome to see Prime use Nine as an excuse to really let Tails play a major role with lots of actual development and stuff. This is helped doubly by the fact that, awkward pixel art aside, the flashback of his actual backstory (as canonised by Origins wow) alone helps him just feel like the real Tails we’re dealing with, just in a different setting. And yeah, the mechanical Tails are just really cool lol. Particularly a fan of the fact that it allows Tails to be up close and personal in combat again - he’s supposed to use his Tails to attack as well but lots of Sonic media has him holding back for support roles in combat, it’s nice that Prime is willing to acknowledge that, yo, Tails can throw hands. And also tails lmaoooooo

I’m not sure how best to word this part specifically also, but I personally was worried that Prime would sorta like, I guess just follow a rigid structure of x episodes in x shatterverse, grab the crystals, and then move onto the next one? The formula not really changing? But it does not do that and we kinda go back and forth between them and there’s things happening between the shatterverses and like, just in general there’s an actually good attempt to keep the structure fresh and interesting.

And the biggest thing of all is that. Prime is actually just really fun lol. There’s a lot of other good things I haven’t mentioned, but it all comes together with what I have to make a show that’s actually just plain old entertaining to watch. I didn’t feel like I was watching the new Sonic show out of obligation, I was just watching it because I genuinely liked watching it. Even my problems with it don’t feel like a huge deal because it’s so good at the moment-to-moment that I wasn’t really thinking about them while watching. Like it’s literally just a good show, and that slaps.

So fuck yeah, Prime is dope.

Sothis was very much experiment. I wanted to see how one makes space and gold. And I though, hey I have like a million ideas cause of HSR. Why not draw some of it? And which you have the creation here. Also gives me a bit of a break from MHA. Which is good to do to keep ideas flowing and prevent dem burnout. Anyway, I'm actually pretty content with this. Still got a lot to improve. But, I'm seeing my improvements which makes me happy and fulfilled.

ANYWAY AU TIME!

So I love HSR. And have so many ideas as we continue to proceed through the story and meeting so many characters. I especially love Caelus and the lore of Aeons. But, for the creation of this piece.

Caelus is basically Akivili child who managed to survive being killed alongside Akivili. Nanook is actually the one to save Caelus and bestow some of his power into him so that he could live after finding the young aeon critically injured. Which is why his tail glows gold along with his eyes. And why his outfit is like it is as it comes from Nanook's own clothes.

Nanook decides to hide away Caelus. Basically covering up the child's paths with destruction in order to draw attention away from him. Which is hard as the express senses Caelus's being and is actively making routes to reunite with the child of it's creator. Even though it mystifies everyone on the express why these routes are being taken.

Caelus, like their parent, creates paths to connect words together and has a need to travel across the universe. He's very curious of worlds and visits them in a more human form that looks like a normal child sides his golden eyes.

Aha later found out about Caelus. And Aha, who misses Akivili, decides to also help out in keeping Caelus hidden. Cause Aha finds it hilarious that the astral express and the trailblazers are looking all over for Caelus.

But, also I feel as though Akivili and Aha had a very fun friendship.

And while it's not really known if Aha is sincere when they says they miss Akivili and is sorry for all the pranks. I do believe that the aeon probably does sincerely miss Akivili. One does not travel with a person for a whole year without having some good relationship. Even if it was for shits and giggles.

Aha keeps an eye on Caelus via two masks. The whale was also a gift from Aha that's main purpose was to give Caelus a scapegoat. If the astral express finds Caelus or another aeon does. It would trick them into following it while Caelus makes his escape.

None of the other aeons knows of Caelus. Something Nanook wants to keep due to the death of Akivili.

Some other ideas I thought of during this.

Aha adores Caelus as Caelus has a bit of a prankster side to him. Caelus also finds Aha funny and often asks for funny jokes or stories.

Nanook literally has an army dedicated to throwing anyone off of Caelus's trail. If an aeon catches a whiff then he will stop them himself. He barely tolerates Aha, but sees the other aeon doesn't want to harm Caelus and leaves them alone for now.

Pompom can sense Caelus, but doesn't realize who or what Caelus is and it drives him crazy.

Nanook doesn't touch the worlds that Caelus visits until the child fully leaves. Then he destroy them. Or tries to as the trailblazers seem to come and stop that cause their literally going through the trails Caelus makes.

Caelus is hyper aware of the Astral Express and wants to go to it. But, doesn't as Nanook says no along with Aha and he listen to them. He's a good kid like that.

Eventually the trails Caelus makes draws the attention of more than the Astral Express and their trailblazers.

A few aeons start to wonder what Nanook and Aha are hiding. Specifically Yaoshi, which then causes Lan to try and figure it out. Which causes a headache for Nanook.

Two, he decides not to go out that night and we change into cute little onesies and snuggle up together. We have matching bat onesies :3

Vox - Changes a LOT depending on his schedule. Sometimes the poor boi won’t sleep at all trying to get his projects to look just right, I’d have to drag him in with me. It’s a bit of a fight, but by the time he touches the bed, he’s already succumbing to his own sleepiness. Otherwise, he’ll snuggle up to me, cover me in smooches, and massage my back/shoulders until I fall asleep. His claws make it surprisingly soothing… also we both wearing the fluffiest pajamas we can find

V - Almost never asks for cuddles on her own, I either initiate it myself or I ask her if she wants some. Occasionally on a bad day she’ll grab me and THROW me into bed with her. She likes it when I run my fingers through her hair while she’s falling asleep, her hair is really soft! She’ll sometimes wrap her tail around my leg, which I think is adorable. Don’t tell anyone I told you this but she refuses to go to bed without wearing one of my shirts

Marsha - We both have our little sleep related struggles. She struggles falling asleep, I struggle with not knowing when to sleep (AKA staying up all night on my phone and not realizing it). If it’s approaching an ungodly hour (anywhere past midnight), she’ll give me some gentle reminders to go to sleep with her. Likewise, I remind her to take melatonin gummies to help her sleep. She’ll occasionally give me some little forehead or cheek kisses while we’re falling asleep and it’s the CUTEST little thing. She always insists on wearing her regular outfit when she’s going to bed out of fear of being put into another match while she’s sleeping (spoiler alert it’s never happened) so I have to practically force her into pajamas lolz

Folly - Doesn’t have to sleep, but she still doesn’t mind helping me get to sleep. If I need her to, she’ll simply hop into bed right next to me and hold me until I fall asleep. She’s so soft and warm, it’s like hugging a giant teddy bear. Once I’m asleep, she’ll hop right into my brain and join me in my dreams :]

Vee - Loves being the little spoon. INSISTS on being the little spoon. Will literally drag me to bed once she’s ready and asks me to hold her. She’ll be out like a light in a matter of minutes, even if I’m watching TV or scrolling on my phone. Whenever I feel like it, I’ll go to sleep with her :] (literally cannot get out of bed or she’ll wake up and get all pouty until I go back to bed)

How is your F/O(s) with you before yall go to bed? Do they tuck you in? Give you a forehead kiss? Grab a glass of water for you or turn on your favorite thing to fall asleep to? Do they maybe ask if you want to cuddle, whether outloud or silently tugging at you? Do they just flop down in bed next to you and get all cozy? Or perhaps just throw themselves right onto you? Do they lay out nighttime clothes for you/both of yall, if yall wear pajamas?
