Pokemon Horizons Episode 55 Review - Friendly Matches With The Elites
It’s nice that the story takes a break in order to have a fun little match with the Elite Four members. While the fights were fun to watch, what worries me the most is that the matches will be used for power scaling debates. Please take those debates out of here and just watch the kids battle Elite Four trainers for the fun of it! Pokemon is all about fun, after all! These matches do not determine which Elite Four is the strongest or weakest or which of the three kids are the strongest. It’s just a test for students to see how well they have progressed and how well they can terastalize. There is a set of rules with these battles: The students must pair up with the Gym Leader they took the test with and only the student can terastalize. The match ends when one of the Elite Four’s Pokemon is knocked out or when the student’s Pokemon is knocked out. I like that the rules are strict because it handicaps both the Gym Leader and the Elite Four member and gives the student the spotlight because they’re the most inexperienced.
Tumblr media
Four matches were shown in this episode. To be honest, I thought that the pacing would be a bit messy, but it’s not as bad as I assumed. The main highlights are Dot and Roy’s matches, so Coral and Sidian’s matches are trimmed down heavily.  For Dot’s match, she’s paired up with Iono and they’re matched against Poppy who uses Tinkaton and Copperajah. Dot uses Quaxly and Iono uses Bellibolt. For a nine-year-old, Poppy actually shows why she’s an Elite Four member as she’s very strategic in her battles. She uses Sandstorm mechanics and she even commands her Tinaktink to use Brick Break to break Bellibolt’s Reflect. I think that’s the first time its secondary effect is shown? Speaking of battle effects, I loved the little detail where Quaxly gets shocked by Discharge because it’s a move that affects the ally too The battle was very exciting, but eventually, Copperajah gets knocked out by Bellibolt, securing a win for Dot. I do like that Dot is actually frustrated with her win because it’s in-character for her. She wanted to win with her own merits, but Poppy tells her to cheer up.
The match with Roy and Brassius against Hassel was also fun to watch! While the previous match with Dot was a match full of strategy, Roy’s match was one full of creativity. I do like that Roy and Brassius teamed up to create moves that can be used in a contest battle. However, I did expect Roy to lose; it’s not because of the fact that he was the only one of the three who won his Terestal Course battle, but it’s because Baxcalibur got so many power-ups due to its ability that a win for Hassel was already guaranteed. Seeing the two struggle against him reminded me of when I was battling him in the game; I struggled hard with him too—that Baxcalibur is terrifying. Despite losing, Roy is happy. He learns that battling is all about teamwork and that he needs the help of others to get things done. I love that the mindset between Roy and Dot differs in these matches. I love the part where Hassel bursts into tears and is comforted by his Pokemon; seeing Baxcalibur hugging him was the cutest thing ever!
The Explorers duo get their matches too, but it’s trimmed down a lot. Coral actually loses her match when she uses her infamous Self-Destruct tactic to not only knock out her own Glalie, but her partner Kofu’s Wugtrio and Larry’s Flamigo and Oricorio Pom-Pom form. The way she got mad that it’s not considered a win and how Larry roasted her by telling her that her personal rules won’t apply when she goes into society was hilarious. Sidian also loses his match with Rika because he was protecting his partner Tulip’s Espathra, knowing that if his Pokemon is knocked out, he’ll lose. He explains that it’s not in him to use “backup” as a means to secure victory, showing off his usual honorable side. Seriously, Sidian is a rather nice guy; I do wonder why he’s with the Explorers. Overall, I feel like the matches with Kofu, Tulip, and Larry are cut down because they’re most likely the focus for the next stage of the Terestal Course; that’s just a prediction on my part.
Overall, these matches were a lot of fun! It’s just nice to see the kids battle and see their improvement! Now that the next episode will focus on Liko and Katy against Rika, I do wonder who will win. Liko has the type advantage as Rika is a Ground-type specialist, but her ace Clodsire is also a Poison type, which means that Grass moves won’t be as effective. If I was her, I’d target Dugtrio. Who do you think will win?

omg hiiiiii xxx same semi anon from like a month ago it’s great to see u again
currently planning a stz pokemon au where they’re all gym leaders of a region - little stuck on some of the types if u had any hcs ? taking suggestions from anyone in replies as well 🙏🙏
essentially i have semi as ghost for plot reasons, shirabu as steel and ushi as dragon + also the champion. and the rest (+ jin) Slightly more stuck ? keep flipping between tendou as psychic (but there’s not good pokemon that fit for a team imo) or fire cause of the hair. yamagata also works as fire potentially
would love to hear ur thoughts u always have genuinely the best takes on these guys. and if u don’t know pokemon so sorry LMAO
oh my god semi anon you have no idea how much i LOVE pokemon!!! i've got my own au in the works for them, and i always enjoy seeing other people's takes on what a pokemon au would look like!! also, i'm assuming this is sort of like a brand-new region and thus teams aren't limited to what would typically be region-locked pokemon, which would make forming them waaaaaaay easier.
i do really like the idea of tendou being a psychic-type or fire-type expert!!! if you really want to throw a curveball and have tendou do something unpredictable--which i also think is very tendou-like--then i think fairy would be a good specialty for him, too, if you don't like the psychic or fire options for his team (of which we have a few options here--i think delphox or darmanitan could work as his main partner if he was either a psychic or fire expert, and galarian rapidash would work for psychic or fairy, too. fairy would also give you great options for a team overall because i personally think tendou would enjoy having a tinkaton and/or grimmsnarl on his side). generally, though, since tendou tends to be a wild card, i think you could go any type and have it make sense for him in the end LMAO.
if you decide to go down the fire path for tendou, that would leave yamagata in a hard place, it sounds like. i do think he'd be a cool fire-type expert--i can totally see a lot of them being on his team and as his main. if not, though, i think yamagata would be a great fighting or rock! if he had a lycanroc for his main/on his team, he'd take it out for jogs and play fetch with it, like, all the time. blaziken or infernape would also work for a fighting or fire team, or maybe hariyama.
if you end up not liking psychic for tendou, i think kawanishi would be a great psychic-type expert instead! ice and dark are also really fitting for him, i feel like. i could totally see him with a gardevoir or a gallade as a main, maybe an umbreon for dark and a glalie or frosmoth for ice. quiet, yes, but strong in his own right. pokemon who get him just as much as he gets them. the umbreon would curl up to take naps with him, and the gardevoir or gallade would know how he feels without him having to say it or show it on his face. they'd be good for him as a trainer and as a person.
reon, to me, would make a great normal or flying type expert. he'd be really cool with a noivern or a braviary as his main, maybe a sawsbuck on his team too if you're sticking with normal types. but i just have this image of him inside my head soaring on the back of the braviary with one of those aviator-themed outfits that some of the flying type leaders have!! he'd look really good in it imo, and i can also totally see him in that outfit against a dramatic backsplash of a susnet, arm outstretched for a bird to land on.
goshiki . . . a little bit more difficult. but i think he'd be a great poison or electric type expert, mostly becuase i know his path towards becoming that would be full of either accidentally poisoning or electrocuting himself. but he'd keep going, and that's what we love about him!! i can totally see him loving trubbish during a time when everyone makes fun of trubbish, and they make a vow to become the best together and show everyone or something. toxicroak would be another good one for him--a pokemon that tends to keep its cool while goshiki is floundering. luxray would also be a good one for that if you want to go down the electric route. if you want one to match goshiki's energy, i think electivire would be a really funny main for him in that case--baby goshiki and his elekid just sounds so cute.
and jin my beloved. if you leave flying for reon, then jin could totally be a normal type expert! i think he'd be great with a stoutland as his main. i also think he could be a grass type expert--he gives off those vibes to me for some reason. i can see him with a tangrowth, decidueye, or a tropius as his main/on his team being a grass-type expert. little jin with a rowlet trying to tackle the world sounds adorable to me, and i think they could grow into a really powerful team that many would underestimate when just initially looking at jin.
aaaaaand i think that's everyone covered!!! thanks for the ask anon, that was so much fu nand i'm always happy to discuss these things!! i hope this helps you in figuring things out, and feel free to drop by whenever!!!

Paldean Winds Episode 1: Breathe Out
Tumblr media
Alright I know this is late (like one day before the next episode airs late), but I really did enjoy the first episode of the Paldean Winds mini-series
I really liked how the episode started off primarily with us viewing Mesagoza through the viewpoint of a tiny Gimmighoul as it searches for a coin that gets snatched by a Corviknight (that promptly gets chased by a trainer's Tinkaton). It was a nice way to open up the series.
But then the tone switches to an orchestra recital with one of our main characters, Ohara, on stage about to play the flute before switching to her walking up the Glaseado mountains with her Fuecoco to drop her flute off the side of the mountain
Now much like Hisuian Snow and Twilight Wings before it, Paldean Winds focuses a lot more on original characters than the game cast, which is controversial. It's a topic for another time but in the context of Paldea and it's story, I can understand why they chose this route as it would be impossible to really do the characters justice in just a short 4 episode mini-series
Ohara, Aliquis and Hohma have been tasked by Director Clavell on creating an intro video for the academy. However, all of them seem a bit preoccupied and maybe not the best fit as a group. Aliquis is preparing for his battle against Nemona and apparently his brother is coming to watch. Ohara has landed the solo in the concert and we learn that her father is the conductor. And Hohma is well…very interested in Cetitan.
As this first episode focused on Ohara we see how the impact of not only being the soloist but being the child of the conductor. I can empathize with her uneasiness at Aliquis' saying "Your dad's the director, makes sense" as it makes the assumption she didn't make it on her own merits but because of nepotism.
We can see that Ohara is under a lot of pressure to prove herself so much show she abruptly leaves for her treasure hunt abandoning both the video project and the band club due to her doubts. I really liked her phone chat with Director Clavell as he shows his concern for her with her abrupt departure, his willingness to back off on questioning her once he realizes he's overstepped and how supportive and fatherly he is to her.
Arven passing by Ohara's camp with a cold look on his face is direct call to how frosty he is to Nemona and the player at the beginning of SV before his storyline begins…only for him to be chased by a Cetitan
We get a flashback of Ohara leaving the academy right when Hohma and Aliquis are attempting to shoot the introduction video before noticing Ohara trying to sneakily head out. Aliquis seems to catch on Ohara's intentions when she says taking her flute "only on the way up". Hohma interrupts with another Cetitan fact about how their sounds mimic a flute which end up becoming key for Ohara to help Arven…
…you know if she hadn't of dropped the flute off the side of the mountain.
But luckily best buddy Fuecoco was there to the rescue having jumped into the icy cold river to retrieve the flute allowing for Ohara to play and save Arven. It's a really nice moment showcasing Fuecoco's bravery especially since most of his characterization is arround liking food and being a silly little guy.
We get a nice heart to heart moment between Arven and Ohara where Ohara reveals she doesn't exactly get along with her father (which in some way, mirrors Arven's own strained relationship with his parents). While she mentions her father did teach her how to play, it was Fuecoco who saved the day. Arven leaves after thanking both of them and tells Ohara to "take good care of that partner of yours" which anyone who has played SV would've started crying immediately
The episode ends with us seeing that Ohara did indeed rejoin the band and take flute solo to applause from the audience, showing her renewed courage in herself as a person and not just the daughter of the conductor
Overall this was a really cute and inspiring episode. It's very relatable for people who have been in Arven and Ohara's shoes of having parents you have a strained relationship with who also happen to hold prominent positions.
I'll be curious to see how Ohara, Aliquis and Hohma all come together to make the video project and how they end portraying the academy to incoming students who end up watching the video.

Luca's Pokemon Main Game + Kitakami GO!!!
Main Game:
Thyme( Meowscarda)- he/him ( adamant, loves to eat)
- Dedicated performer of tricks and pranks.
- Loves stealing snacks
- Doesn't like sharing the spotlight, tends to grow jealous of other members when Luca gives them more attention. Still cares for his team and would do anything for them.
Jo(Clodsire)- she/her ( Calm, proud of her power)
- Incredibly chill. Honestly just happy to be there.
- Knows her battling capabilities well and takes pride in them.
- Generally a good gal who gets along with anyone.
Dolly(Dachsbun)- she/her ( Relaxed, somewhat vain)
- Sweetheart that will fuck you up if you mess with her or her team.
- Likes to help with baking or making sandwiches.
Irene(Espathra)- he/him (Bold , capable of taking hits)
- The most level headed of the punch. Some would argue he's more of a leader than Thyme. Definitely a powerhouse once he gets going.
- Peculiar taste in fashion, not entirely sure if he's fond of Luca's taste in fashion or utterly despises it.
- Carries himself with elegance and grace. With some sass on the side.
Tink(Tinkaton)- she/her ( Naughty, is somewhat stubborn)
- Can and will smash you with her hammer.
- Kinda battle hungry, always looking for a fight.
- Thyme's partner in crime, loves pulling pranks on the others, especially Irene.
Carlota(Armarouge)-she/her ( Quiet, nods off a lot)
- Looks rather stoic, but is actually pretty shy.
- Also pretty level headed, but tends to get dragged into situations for being a pushover.
- Incredibly chivalrous and works hard, but sometimes pushes herself too much.
Kitakami:
Cutie( Cutiefly) she/her ( Brave/Modest, quick tempered)
- Feisty in spirit, tends to get into arguments easily.
- Always looking out for the little guy, ironic given how she is very little.
- Always eager to share her home's history to those who wish to listen.
Apple(Dipplin) he/him ( Jolly/Timid, capable of taking hits)
- Happy go lucky guy, always trying his best!!
- Often tries to see the good in people
- Kinda a nerd, likes to listen to Cutie talk.
Moon(Clefable)-he/him ( Hasty/Bold, somewhat lost in thought)
- Always seems to have A Plan.
- Kind off an ass at first, but is nice when you get past his snarkiness.
- Social, but likes to keep to himself most times. Not many people know what he's thinking.
Skully(Houndoom)-she/her ( Lax somewhat vain)
- Kinda chill, can get lazy sometimes.
- Gets flustered incredibly easy though. Hard to tell given that she has a hard rbf.
- Kinds in amusing that someone like her is tied to the literal glitter bomb that is Luca.
Fisher(Crawdaunt)-he/him ( Rash/Adamant, proud of it's power)
- An arrogant brute that is more than willing to show off his strength. Got humbled hard by Cutie.
- Not used to being on a team, let alone be taking orders from anyone that isn't himself, but he comes around.
- Doesn't like to admit it, but he likes having his new friends around. He was pretty lonely before ( bc he was an arrogant brute)
Tiny(Gliscor) - he/him ( Impish, is capable of taking hits)
-Bitch won't die electric boogalo
- Used to love hiding in spots and surprising others but can't do that given how big he is now. Is still a bit of a jokester though.
- Upon evolving, realized he was trans :)
Ponyo(Ogerpon) - she/her ( Lonely, takes plenty of siestas)
- Baby gorl. Has done nothing wrong ever.
- Still slightly wary of humans, but definitely doesn't feel as alone as she did before ( Fisher totally isn't attached to her. Nope)
- Likes holding Luca's hand when they walk together :)
I made this quickly so some details might change. Also for some natures have a / with another one. That just means I used a mint on them. They don't influence their personalities but I thought it would be important to know. Also Ponyo was gonna be in a different post with Luca's other pokemon ( if I ever get to that lol) but she's too important to not be part of the main squad so here.

Pokemon ⚡Violet⏳ Synopsis
Okay so I beat the main stories and after story of Pokemon Violet! Here are my personal thoughts on the game:
*Warning for spoilers*
From the start, the graphics were okay. When the npcs are in the further background, it looks like something out of the N64 days- and Kirby 64 looked better on the console itself
Controls were pretty good, felt pretty smooth for the most part. Riding Miraidon felt nice, there wasn't too much trouble. The only thing that bugs me is the glide. You glide at a nice sloping descent before falling down at a steeper angle and you pretty much fall straight down with no chance to slow yourself. I wish it was more like PLA, where you could dash and control how you glided through the sky
Arven and Penny were my favorite NPCs and storylines. Penny reminded me of my old middle school friends and there was a sense of wanting to care for and protect her. Arven, while having parental issues, was also dealing with trying to save his doggo partner Mabosstiff who he has had since he was a child. That need of wanting to help the only real family he had spoke so deeply to me. Because that proves that family doesn't have to be biological. Family can be your best friend or the pet you have, whoever you have close bonds with. And as an animal lover, I teared up when that part happened.
Okay- let's talk Nemona. I personally did not like her all that much. Her character trait is that she likes battling- and that's it. That's all she likes. Just combat. There's no real personality to her. She was more annoying to me than anything else. She didn't have any character growth or arc like the others did. Again, this is just my own view of things.
I know some people will complain and argue that some of the Pokemon designs are lackluster and "going downhill". Need I remind you that Gen 1 had very not so great designs too- Geodude and Voltorb are examples. I actually didn't mind the designs of the newer Pokemon! Meowscarada was a decent bipedal evolution for Sprigatito, but it could use a bit more detail. Miraidon was adorable, I loved Fuecoco, the Tinkaton line was simple and effective, and I enjoyed the Paradox Pokemon! My favorite is Iron Valiant, the way they combined Gallade and Gardevoir was so well done with just the right amount of detail from both evolutions.
Speaking of the Paradox Pokemon, let's talk the afterstory. Holy crap. The fact that the real professor died in an accident and was succeeded by an android they created to assist them was crazy. I don't think we've had a game where you fight the professor as a final boss- usually it's the champion or your rival or something. The turn this game took with the ending was shocking and I am here for it. I really wish there was a moment between the AI Professor and Arven where they hugged each other goodbye. That would've ripped my heart out even more and provided some form of comfort to Arven knowing that despite everything, that one moment of tenderness was what he needed to know his parent loved him. (Side note- the Professor's spouse walked out on them after Arven was born, which was even crazier when you realize that it's what started his abandonment issues
Then we come to the final thing on the list: the Ruinous Quartet Pokemon. Four cursed artifacts that became Pokemon and were sealed away for fear of their strength and the destruction they caused. It makes me wonder why they're a thing in the game. Will we eventually get more story on them? Will they become more prominent as time goes on? As for their oppositions, I strongly believe they were designed to oppose the Swords of Justice. Think about it- the Quartet are Dark Types and the Swords are Fighting. Then add the elemental types and they match the weaknesses of the Swords perfectly. It's just a theory, but there's some ideas behind it
Overall, I think the game wasn't too bad. It wasn't that glitchy for me and I had an enjoyable time playing. People were diverse, story was good, and gameplay wasn't half bad. I'll give this game a 7/10- good, but could be better. At least with the graphics issues and Pokemon going through walls XD
Give me your thoughts as well! Do you agree or disagree with anything I mentioned? Add your thoughts in the comments or reblogs, I'd love to hear what you think!

what type of pokemom would the main cast be? im curious on which you think tumblr would be
these are partially based on the type specialties and partner pokemon i assigned them:
tumblr - mr. rime (LOL) ok how about alolan ninetales? it’s a pokemon that lives alone and is vindictive, and it’s an ice type which i think could suit tumblr for how rude and closed off he is to others.
twitter - altaria (clouds get stormy when angry) for the blue version. maybe could be changed into honchkrow or just another version of altaria for the rebrand. I think altaria is looks welcoming and kind, but we can make it turn scary when angered. it’s still a dragon type, after all.
amino - mimikyu since andy says it relates heavily to it, basically its whole deal is similar to amino’s
discord - rotom. i like it being a ghost/electric type which both suit discord and being able to change its form and literally be a communication device (rotom phone)
twitch - i wanted to say mawile bc i wanted mega mawile as her ace but i actually like morpeko being electric, cute, but also two faced with half n half colors. idk if im satisfied w saying thats the definitive one she would be, but its hard to find a single pokemon i think fits perfectly…
youtube - floatzel bc its sooo cool and he wears pool floaties in the water. he was assigned water type n i actually do not know why, maybe bc he’s laid back? but he definitely seems like he could be a beach trainer. alternatively, he could be fire, and then i could say he could be a cinderace n show off with soccer tricks instead of surfing tricks.
TikTok - roserade because it has the red and blue roses, reference to tiktok live, and its a poison type for tiktok poisoning ur brain lol
instagram - gardevoir because its refined, pretty, and it can sense emotions like how instagram is kind of an “empath” herself. the psychic type is for her knowing a lot about everyone which, combined with the empath stuff and being good at talking to people, makes it seem like she reads your mind.
ao3 - bewear is sort of the opposite of ao3’s appearance. he is a strong, stoic, loner type who has a fondness for sweets and romance. the normal typing is the same as wikipedia, being librarians, and the fighting type is for his strictness and literal strength.
wikipedia - girafarig because its a normal type which is the most neutral type and it’s a psychic type for his inquisitive nature.
kik - tyranitar shares the same color scheme as it and i think rock/dark suits kik as a rough, abrasive person who mostly acts out of her own self interests.
4chan - tinkaton because she wants to appear cute and girlish but also can’t help being negative and aggressive or rude to others. she would like a giant hammer to hit people with, right?
reddit - clodsire, but galarian stunfisk special mention for r/stunfisk. i wanted to make him a ground type trainer in a pokemon au, and clodsire is so unassuming and squishy and nice :) reddit comes off as an ernest friendly person, but i can also see the poison type being for the more toxic forms of engagement they might partake in.
bonus:
quotev- absol, especially mega absol. its the poster child for half angel half devil ocs and edgy girls everywhere…
wattpad - alolan raichu mainly because of the color scheme and upbeat nature
twitch as a champion sketch bc im indecisive and she needs a whole ass multi type team:

ok ok so
pokemon permeates the public consciousness just a bit right. like fucking everyone knows who pikachu is. so that bleeds into the metaverse and suddenly every mythological creature is replaced by a pokemon
when the thieves awaken they still get the cool costumes but the masks are just masks, instead they get pokeballs with their "partner pokemon" or whatever. akira, being the wildcard, winds up with 5 empty ones after his second or third velvet room visit and just starts chucking them at the random birds he finds. none of the others can catch other pokemon, though they do get a set of legendaries for their second awakenings
im thinking akira starts w/ zoroark, mona either gets or is an alolan meowth, ryuji gets electavire, ann salazzle, yusuke frostlass, makoto lucario, futaba beheeyem, haru tinkaton, sumire primarina, and akechi decidueye + shadow mewtwo but god i wanna give him a corviknight so bad
the velvet room's main function is just selling akira pokeballs and being his pc. i am very tempted to make the twins plusle and minun but lavenza gets to stay in human form for reasons.
yaldy is arceus for obvious reasons (god) and satanael is giratina for equally obvious reasons (satan). maruki has idk zygarde that's weird enough to fit him right
but yknow other than that everything plays out about the same
persona 5 but instead of shadows and demons and whatever the metaverse is just filled with pokemon

Bio + Headcanons [ Spoilers ahead ]
Tumblr media
Name: Masane Umai Age: 16 (Main game), 18 (Post game / Timeskip) Gender: Female Orientation: VERY BI Region: Sinnoh (Formerly), Paldea (Currently) Occupation: Uva Academy Student, Paldea Champion, Team Galactic successor  Friends: Ada (Childhood friend, best friend, pseudo crush), Nemona (Classmate, friend), Penny (Classmate, friend), Arven (Classmate, friend, pseudo crush) Greatest treasure: Her friendship with Ada & Befriending Arven, Nemona, and Penny  Family: Jupiter (Mother), Mars (Family friend, Ada’s mother), Saturn (Family friend, “Uncle”)  Pokemon: Sprigatito (Lv. 82), Pawmo (Lv. 84), Tinkaton (Lv. 80), Salamence (Lv. 78), Ceruledge (Lv. 80), Cubchoo (Lv. 80)
Headcanons:
Masane and Ada are canonically both directionally challenged, easily getting lost or just running off blindly to go do something else
Masane deliberately matches colors with Ada, a play on their mothers Jupiter and Mars being of the same colors
Fun fact: Masane being 16 is a reference to the original Diamond and Pearl games being 16 years old (2006).
Masane presents herself as being smug, harsh, and a bit of a delinquent. However she is actually sweet deep down, almost on the tsundere side. She is also known to be quite protective of Ada.
Between her and Ada, Masane is actually quite good at cooking, often saving the monstrosities they make together from tasting disgusting.
When it comes to academics, Masane excels in Home Ec, but is horrifically bad at Math.
After how bitter their meeting was, Masane hated Arven, it was only after properly getting to spend time with him did she begin to like him.
[ Spoilers regarding plot under cut ] (Ada belongs to wilkiswilk) I do not advise reading beyond this point if you do not want spoilers for the game.
Masane is the daughter of former team galactic commander, Jupiter. She was raised alongside Ada, the daughter of Mars. Masane was raised living a typical normal life, not knowing much about her mother’s previous endeavors aside from stories.
As they got older, Masane, along with Ada, were accepted to attend Uva/Naranja academy in Paldea. Masane and Ada both move to Paldea and begin to attend the academy, becoming friends with Nemona, and being somewhat acquainted with Arven and Penny. It is also during this time she is entrusted with Miraidon, a special pokemon that saved her life after being chased by pokemon.
When the school officially enters summer break, the students are assigned with the task of finding their own “personal treasure” and are encouraged to explore Paldea to find it.
After defeating every gym and the elite four, helping Penny disband Team Star, and helping Arven take down titans to retrieve Herba Mystica and heal his partner, Mabosstiff, the latter of which lead to Masane developing feelings for Arven, all while traveling alongside Ada, Masane is very certain of what her treasure is.
However, with plenty of time left still, Masane and her four friends embark on a final mission to one place of utmost importance, the great crater of paldea, per the request of professor Turo.
Though, something seems amiss as they venture further and further within. After the group is separated during a paradox ambush, it is revealed to Masane that Turo, Arven’s father, has been dead for quite some time, having lost his life protecting Miraidon, who is also a paradox pokemon from the future.
The Turo that had been communicating with her all alone was just an AI in a robot body, and Masane asists in its final request, help shut down Turo’s time machine. Granted she is forced to fight the AI as per the machine’s programming.
In the end, after the AI robot forces itself to travel to the future to permanently make the machine unusable, the group make their way back to Paldea.
Saddened by the news of his father’s death, the group cheer up a downtrodden Arven by proposing they spend the rest of the summer traveling together as a group.
Although hesitant at first, he agrees. The group go on to remain friends, even to the present day.

Nice to meet you, Rotomblr! I'm Lillyan, and I'm a Pokémon Coordinator from Ryme City. My family owns a Pokémon cafe, the Pikachu Patisserie, here in town, and... Dang, I don't really know where to go from here. I guess I should tell you about all my Pokémon!
Main team:
Goro the Pikachu - My first Pokemon that my brother brought home from Kanto for my 10th birthday. He's the Champion there, see. He actually started his Pokemon journey the same year I started kindergarten.
Oh! Oh! Let me! Let me! So, when I was really little, I fell through a uh… Professor Krane said it’s called an “Ultra Wormhole”? And I woke up in a completely different world! It was the exact opposite of all the stories I had heard about humans! I’m sure there’s a way I could go back if I wanted to, but I like my life here. I’ll be signing my posts with this symbol ->⚡
//he's named after his scrapped evolution
Dante the Samurott - Gifted to me as an Oshawott by Mr. Cyrano while I attended Blueberry Academy. He's my go-to for water-themed Contest routines and the occasional tournament. I named him after the protagonist of The Count of Monte Cristo.
//I headcanon that there's a fair amount of media in the Pokemon world that actually doesn't include Pokemon as prominently as we'd expect. Like, if it involves animals, it'll be Pokemon instead, but if not it's pretty 1-to-1
Erik the Meowscarada - A Sprigatito I was given during my exchange program at Uva Academy. After seeing Meowscarada in the Pokedex, I was immediately reminded of Phantom of the Opera.
Edward the Zoroark - A Zorua given to me by a strange man in Driftveil City, who wanted to perform in the Contest there. I quickly came up with a new routine for him and he decided to come on my journey with me.
Amy the Tinkaton - Caught as a Tinkatuff during my Treasure Hunt. Named after the hammer-wielding Buneary of the same name from the Sonic the Sandslash series.
Carmen the Lopunny - One of my surprisingly few “home turf” catches. (Did I spell that right? I hope I spelled that right.) She was only on the team for a few days before evolving. Must be the Poffins.
In rotation:
Arsene the Lucario - Originally caught as a Riolu in the Terarium. He's relatively secluded and kind of a drama king. He's named after the fictitious gentleman thief Arsene Lupin.
Orpheus the Glaceon - Starting as an Eevee I caught in Kanto while visiting my brother, he evolved into a Glaceon during an Ice-type Tera Raid.
Diogo the Empoleon - Originally caught as a Piplup in Lake Verity. Metal Claw is really good for shearing ATEP.
Charlotte the Alcremie - A Ruby Swirl Alcremie with a Love Sweet that I hatched from an Egg as part of a school project.
Raptors - A Shiny Mimikyu, also hatched from an Egg I received elsewhere. Named after one of my favorite YouTubers.
Emily the Vespiquen - One of the first Pokemon I caught at the start of my journey. I knew female Combee were super rare, so since I felt so lucky to find one, I named her after Glitter Lucky.
//This is based on a real-life occurrence during my X playthrough, but my game crashed and I lost her
Libitina the Absol - She tends to act up whenever something bad is about to happen, which I assume is normal behavior for her species, but I'm not sure.
Lazarus the Tyrantrum - Named after the man Jesus raised from the dead, since he was revived from a fossil. Yes, Christianity does exist in the Pokemon world. I say this //in character because of Rotomblr’s multiversal reach. We believe Arceus to be the partner Pokemon of God, but Arceus itself is not God, you’re thinking of Arkeism.
Zero - A Porygon (now Porygon-Z) that I once impulsively saved from being put down after its previous Trainer’s son suffered a seizure due to its Tri-Attack
Myra the Ninetales
Other notable ‘mons:
Ralph - A Rattata I caught on Route 22 in Kanto. He wouldn't stop pestering me for a battle, and then just refused to go down. I asked if he wanted to come with and hail mary-ed a Poke Ball at him. He’s more of a traveling companion than a team Pokémon.
Lycoris - A Floette named for the red spider lily it carries around.
Lona - A Glameow originally owned by a friend of my brother's, then my grandmother, and then us. I think we accidentally gave her microtrauma from moving her around so much because she's kinda mean sometimes.
Prayer - A Purrloin we adopted for Christmas a few years back. Despite the bad reputation of his species, he’s just a shy lil sweetheart
Phoebe the Eevee - My mother’s first Pokemon from when she was my age. I’m curious as to why she hasn’t evolved yet, if they’ve been together for so long. She’s the mascot of the cafe, despite the name.
ATEP the Dubwool
Cooper the Obstagoon
Giovanna the Shiny Pikachu (caught in a Max Raid, name means "God is gracious")
Madame the Galarian Farfetch'd
Pikablu the Azumarill
Kimba the Luxray
Oktavio the Primarina
Sage the Ceruledge
Supernova the Tauros (Paldean Combat breed)
Balto the Lycanroc (Daylight form)
Blueberry the Minun
Mastema the Vivillon //named after a demon that shares its name with a genus of moth, referencing its National Pokedex number
Other Pokemon who work at the cafe, but technically don’t belong to us:
Aconite the Leafeon
Levi the Vaporeon
Raspberry the “Minusle”
Charcolt the Charmander
Rainer the Squirtle
Forresaur the Bulbasaur
Cinnabun the Scorbunny
Chinta the Minccino //I only speak Dora-level Spanish so if that’s a bad word, please let me know bc I got it from the chinchilla episode of Go Diego Go
Crackle the Pansear (named for being the “Hear No Evil” monkey)
Goggles the Simipour (named for being the “See No Evil” monkey)
Peter “Cottontail” the Whimsicott
Horus the Starly
Howler the Chimchar
Kagome the Gardevoir
Madoka the Jirachi (different from the one connected to the legends of the region, but we have no idea where it came from)
Vulpvi the Vulpix (named for the Roman numeral of six, referencing its six tails, as early Pokedexes once gave it this name)
and Gretchen the Hattrem
