I could see Echoes of Wisdom coming after both TOTK and COH in the chronological timeline but I think I’m leaning towards COH. They have a similar charm, especially with playable Link and Zeldas, and I could even see the same Link and Zelda going on both adventures.
I didn’t really have a good design since I haven’t really finished Cadence of Hyrule or Echoes of Wisdom yet but I have many ideas to combine the two! If anything, they’ll have an interesting dynamic
Melody (Zelda) and Rhythm (Link) are the Heroes of Music or Harmony? Not set on the title yet…

Overhauling the TC au because looking back, I don’t like my characters or art or writing or anything for it. Might keep a couple of character designs but otherwise I’m switching it all up
I’m also combining it a bit with my Chronological Timeline idea which doesn’t change too much except they come in different timeline orders and a few characters are modified slightly. I feel like a fresh change like this will help revamp it a bit

I’m so exciteddddddddd
Dungeons?? STILL WORLD?? Sword fighting ghost form! Puppet Link!! VOLVAGIA!!! CATSSSS!!!
I love the aesthetic of the Still World. It’s so cool, purple-pink and trippy with all the floating and misshapen rubble and petrified people. I love how she just walked on the sideways trees

Current LOZ Projects
Twin Chains (the big one, on hiatus):
My Links Meet AU <3 with two chains of heroes traveling parallel to one another but unaware of each other’s existence. One group is more skilled in fighting monsters while the other is more adept at puzzle solving, but both come with their own unique sets of issues to work through. Will they ever meet?
Tears of the Hero (fic on my main, editing ch. 3 now):
Totk Roleswap AU where Zelda goes on a journey through Hyrule to chase sinister rumors of her missing fiance, Link. Along the way, she works to solve the kingdom’s arising problems and develops her divine powers with a little ancient help.
Zelda, A Fashion Fairytale (started as a meme, writing ch. 1 now):
A Hyrule Warriors AU Zelda travels to Hytopia and helps Impa save her small village by revitalizing the once famous Triforce Boutique. Together with the owner, Lana, the two travel across lands to seek out new designers and host a fashion show to raise money to protect the village.
Tomodachi Zelda (blog)
I recently made a Tomodachi Life island for LOZ characters. Most of the miis are modelled (to the best of my ability) after designs from different fan comics and AUs that I really like. I'm also making TC characters there too because it's fun. I made the blog for stress relief so don't expect anything crazy, it just posts silly island updates of random things the miis say or do.

Been thinking about Four (and Mini) recently
I imagine Four has only ever split twice in their life. The first time they drew the four sword, it was super disorienting for the colored links to come into being but all four of them came to the conclusion that defeating Vaati could fix it. And once they put the four sword back, Four was back to normal. Becoming four people was weird and took a while to process but they figured it was a one time thing and didn’t dwell much on it.
The second time though, it was hell. Four was not only split for much longer, but the colored links developed personalities of their own as they became farther apart. They formed bonds with other people and didn’t always get along.
The second adventure keeps them up at night. Four questioned their identity, who are they? Where did the four links go? Are they a culmination of the four colors or are the colored links different parts of Four? Who would Four have become if they hadn’t drawn the four sword? Is part of them evil for joining Shadow? Was Shadow their counterpart? Why doesn’t Four have a shadow anymore? Will they lose a piece of themselves if one of the colors dies? If the four sword broke while Four was four, what would happen? Is Four broken? Will they always be broken? Can Four be repaired or will they never be whole?
When they put the four sword back, Four took a much longer time to recover, physically and mentally. They worried splitting up would become a reoccurring thing and as time went on, they found themself itching for the four sword once more but refused, scared of what it would mean.
But as they started adventuring with the Young Chain, Four was forced to draw the four sword once more (with gloves on) and the urge to split was greater than ever. So close to the sword, Four had to physically stop themself from drawing the sword and burying the issue left a mental toll on them. The longer it went on, they began to get more agitated and antsy.
Four gets in their own head a lot, especially around the four sword, it doesn’t help that they’re also pretty awkward with the others. Four looks up to Clover, doesn’t know how to talk to Tears, is intimidated by Twi, and is conflicted about their revered predecessor Mini being much younger than them.
Mini especially gives Four a hard time, utterly confused when Mini doesn’t have the same issue with splitting. Or had a shadow link. And they can’t exactly get all the information successfully out of 10-year old, leaving Four with more questions than answers.

Hyrule Warriors in Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale (AU idea)
(Inspired by @bunny-gaymer on the plot bunny discord :D)
After an intense argument with her father and supposedly having her engagement cut off by her betrothed Link, a young Princess Zelda travels to a small village on the border of Hytopia. There, she visits the village chief, her former nursemaid Impa, only to discover the village is in financial ruin. Without help from the crown, the only main source of revenue for the Hytopian village is the Triforce Boutique owned by a struggling fashion designer and novice sorceress named Lana.
Determined to help save the village, Zelda seeks out Lana and together they discover an ancient fairy fountain hidden below the boutique. A former great fairy emerges and agrees to magically enhance Lana’s clothes with sparkles and special effects in exchange for help restoring her fountain. With hope of revitalizing the boutique, Lana and Zelda plan to seek out help and host a fashion show to raise money for the village.
Lana and Zelda (disguised as Sheik) work together to design new clothes and travel to different regions nearby in search of more designers to help their cause. They recruit many unique friends:
Ruto, a Zora designer who specializes in elegant, silky fabrics and ruffles (and mermaid dresses haha)
Darunia, a Goron designer and jeweler who has a knack for warm clothes and jewel tone outfits
Fi, a senior designer and blacksmith who does pseudo-armor and metal-inspired designs, including the dress HW!Zelda wears
Agitha, a young designer and entomologist who likes designing butterfly and other-insect patterned dresses
Midna is a mysterious foreign designer visiting Hytopia who specializes in mesmerizing dark, shadowy themes and shades of midnight black
Meanwhile, Link is summoned to a royal meeting when he finds out Zelda ran away, thinking he broke off their engagement. He discovers a shadow Link created by Cia that tricked Zelda and drove her away. With the help of Proxi, the two try to seek Zelda out and clear things up, only to encounter many obstacles on a wild goose chase across the country and discover that maybe their relationship isn’t as perfect as he thought...

Explaining A Chronological LOZ Timeline
(Based on this post)
First, the elephant in the room: Skyward Sword
How does Skyward Sword come after Spirit Tracks?
Well, as we know the world was flooded by the goddesses in the adult timeline of OOT which triggered the events of the Wind Waker. Then after WW/PH, Tetra goes on to sail to new lands and found the kingdom of New Hyrule as we know it over a hundred years later in Spirit Tracks.
Tumblr media
With Spirit Tracks having extensive train systems, why stop there? The longer the kingdom stands, the structure and technology of New Hyrule will only continue to improve. Like build large temples and cisterns to honor the spirits or advanced tech like robots in the distant future. Maybe even ones to help them mine resources or man pirate ships to continue exploring the Great Sea (Tetra was a pirate first, after all).
But then there was another terrible war on the surface and the goddesses couldn’t flood the land again to save its people. Out of options, there’s no where else to go but up, and Hylia hid her people in the skies until the war was ended. It’s not like godly intervention is a new concept in this timeline. During the Era of the Sky, some of the flood began to rescind, drying up waters to expose sandy deserts and new lands on the surface.
Thus, the ancient temples of Faron and robots in the Sand Sea of Lanayru in Skyward Sword could come from New Hyrule and part of the Great Sea in Spirit Tracks.
Like cmon, they literally have robot pirates!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And New Hyrule already contains interesting clans and races not seen before in other zelda games like the Lokomo and Anouki. It’s not far off to think other unique peoples like the Kwikwi or Mogma once inhabited the same continent.
Furthermore, remember how the recruits of the royal guards/knights of Spirit Tracks wore specific uniforms that model the WW hero’s clothes? What if one of those recruits happened to survive and be sent to Skyloft? They could have wanted to pass on their knowledge and founded the Knight’s Academy, retaining the knight uniforms as a way to preserve their history. Of course, the meaning behind the uniforms was later forgotten since they end up changing up the uniform color every year. It was only by luck (or destiny) that SS Link happened to get the green version of the uniform.
Basically, my reasoning for SS coming far after ST is the ancient temples/robots, Lanayru sand sea, unique species, and knight’s uniforms all come from New Hyrule.
But what about the Master Sword?
Tumblr media
For the most part, we know the blade of evil’s bane is a silver sword with a purplish handle. The iconic look that Fi is based off in the first place, right?
Except, some iterations of the master sword are blue. Or the little diamond-shaped gaps of the hilt are inconsistent, being blue or green or purple (with the crossing ribbons part being green in this case), or are missing altogether. Hell, the MS isn’t even present in the original 1986 game.
Sure, some of these minor color changes can be attributed to graphical limitations or different art styles per game. But what about all the transformations the sword has gone under like the drastic red and gold color changes of an upgraded MS in ALTTP/ALBW? How do we go from a thin, white and light green Goddess Sword forged into the larger blade in SS?
Tumblr media
(I made a powerpoint infographic :D)
That's why I propose the master sword isn't one single blade, but rather a title given to multiple swords throughout the years. It already has legendary, grandiose titles like "The Blade of Evil's Bane" and "The Sword That Seals The Darkness" so why not 'The Sword of the Master' which would've gotten shortened to 'The Master Sword' over time. But not just any random sword can be deemed the MS. It's the hero of the sword, the wielder of it, that makes it the worthy blade of a master.
That way it includes the first hero of TLOZ wields the "magical sword" who hadn't yet become a master or how the hero of men forges the Picori Blade which later becomes the Four Sword in MC. And explains how the master sword seems to change locations between the Lost Woods or temples all the time. They're all different blades.
Yes, some Master Swords can be retained between generations though. I'd be willing to say the sword from OOT is the same in TP or the one forged in SS is the same one in BOTW/TOTK for instance (since Fi's chime can be heard in TOTK).
Tumblr media
But how does Demise's curse and the reincarnation cycle fit into this?
During the end of Skyward Sword, Demise speaks these final words:
"My hate...never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end! I will rise again! Those like you... Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero... They are eternally bound to this curse. An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time."
Usually, this is interpreted as Demise declaring this Link and Zelda as the first of an eternal cycle and Ganondorf is his reincarnation. Yet in the Skyward Sword manga, there is a whole other hero who fought for Hylia before the reincarnated SS hero, so how can the SS hero before the first iteration who 'started' the reincarnation cycle?
Tumblr media
Remember when Demise says 'those with the blood of the goddess and spirit of the hero are forever bound to this curse/cycle.' What if he isn't saying 'I am actively binding you two (Link and Zelda) to a curse I'm creating right now' as is the common interpretation. Rather, he could be saying 'there is a pre-existing curse that you two are already bound to, and only a god like me can perceive it. So I'm pointing it out to you now because I'm adding more to it.'
It's a bit of a stretch but bare with me.
Yes, Ganondorf/Ganon is seen as the reincarnation of Demise. I mean they tend to have similar builds and the same striking orange-red hair, right? But there several other villains in the franchise that don't remotely resemble Demise or his hatred. In fact, the only time Ganondorf looks like a true reincarnation of Demise is during TOTK (more on this in a bit).
Instead, there's something greater at play. Demise supposedly locks these two souls in reincarnation but fails to acknowledge why the triforce always seems to be a part of this cycle as well. Link is always the representation of courage and Zelda is always wisdom even when these souls are reincarnated as completely different people.
Tumblr media
The only explanation I can think of is that the golden goddesses created Link and Zelda's souls to permanently embody their triforces. They locked these two in reincarnation as insurance to keep peace and order in the world when there is a threat or thief of the triforce of power. Sorta like a system of balance, their souls were put in place to keep the more volatile of the three triforces, power, in check if it got out of hand. As mortals, Link and Zelda wouldn't really be aware of the inherent duty/burden placed on their souls but it would be more obvious to an outside deity like Demise. That's why these specific versions of Link and Zelda are only really ever reincarnated when there is any sort of threat to Hyrule to deal with, not just Ganon but also Vaati, Zant, Yuga, Cole, etc.
Besides the reincarnation cycle theory, Demise definitely did declare that his hatred would be reincarnated in SS though. But it's not just every iteration of Ganon. With the greater extent of destruction that Demise causes compared to most zelda villains, I'd go so far as to say the battle against Ghirahim and Demise in the events of SS were the first Calamity from BOTW. The second Calamity was that of the Sheikah, the ancient Zonai hero, and the Divine Beast detailed 10,000 years before the events of BOTW/TOTK. And the third Calamity was the events of not just BOTW, but also TOTK.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know, the era when the physical embodiment of hatred (aka malice and gloom) poisoned the land, when the hero and most of the kingdom was killed, and when rehydrated Ganondorf looked eeriely more similar to Demise than any other Ganon. It matches up a little too well with how 'an incarnation of Demise's hatred' will haunt them forever. Especially when there is a giant valley on the BOTW map literally called The Breach of Demise.
More to come about how the other games fit into this timeline au. Let me know your thoughts and ideas!

Chronological LOZ timeline because Nintendo are cowards

The blue titles indicate non-canon games
I’ll post the explanations to make it make sense later, maybe make a whole slideshow if I feel like it. I have big plans for explaining away Skyward Sword so stay tuned…

Chronological loz timeline stuff
I really like the idea that the first legendary hero of Hyrule is just some random kid that had the courage to help out an old lady (Impa) rather than this godslaying knight of the skies strung along by a goddess incarnate (it's badass but still)
Also if every Zelda is henceforth named after Zelda I from AOL, then all the other Zelda’s should come after her. Like sure, it’s a common name in the royal family but sooooo many princesses are named Zelda it just makes sense

Instead of having Zelda the first, Zelda the second, Zelda VII, etc, I like the idea that the female royal family members would each have middle names they are distinguished by.
The original: Zelda Ambrosia
AOL: Zelda Titania
ALTTP: Zelda Mythril
SS: just Zelda
pre-MC: Zelda Valorie
MC: Zelda Oleracea
FS: Zelda Trinity
OOT: Zelda Aria / Sheik
TP: Zelda Soleil de Minuit
BOTW: Zelda Historia (her mom was Zelda Wisteria)
WW: Zelda Tetragon / Tetra
ST: Zelda Phantasma
HW: Zelda Victoria
COH: Zelda Cadenza
BS: Zelda Celestia
Extra space: Zelda Seraphina

TC Nickname Meanings pt.1
Here’s a list of the meaning behind each hero’s (and Zelda/counterpart’s) names:
Hero (Hylia’s hero, first of the hero's spirit)
Starting off strong we have Hero. He was the first mentioned in the Skyward Sword manga and the source of the Hero’s spirit that runs through every subsequent hero of courage. Coincidentally, his favorite food is also sandwiches.
This title was bestowed upon him by the goddess Hylia and carries a lot of weight for him so he goes by Hero. His non-Zelda counterpart is Hylia Herself, who simply uses Her own name.
Chosen (The Chosen Hero, hero of the skies)
Similar to Hero, this Link was the first chosen by Hylia’s reincarnation, Zelda. He simply goes by his hero title, granted to him by the sword spirit Fi, who he has yet to part with.
Chosen sees his Zelda not just a reincarnation of the goddess but also his true love, his light, his everything, his fated, his destiny. Thus he chooses to nickname her Destiny. She chose him but it was destiny that brought them together in the first place. He likes to tell the others it’s because it compliments his own nickname nicely, but everyone knows better. She thinks it’s sweet.
Mighty (Hero of Men, the mighty hero)
When he is gifted the goddess sword and forges it into the Picori Blade, he befriends the dormant sword spirit. She refers to him as a hero of great might and resolve and thanks him for granting her freedom. She shortens it to the mighty hero and the name kinda sticks.
He isn’t too close to the Zelda of his era, a valiant and headstrong woman who lead the operation to defeat the remnants of Demise. She's not the biggest fan of her given name anyway so she chooses to go by her middle name, Valorie. Their names also correspond to Might and Valor since they fought a couple of battles together (the sword spirit stuck to Valorie and aided her in combat instead of Mighty).
Mini (Hero of the Minish, hero to all great and small)
He’s small and gets even smaller. His grandpa always calls him squirt, jack, or mini. Mini doesn’t mind anyway so he just reuses that nickname around the other heroes.
His game is full of fairytale references and Zelda reminds him of the Princess and the Pea story so he nicknames her Pea. She thinks it’s silly and likes it, they joke around about it as kids do.

Chronological LOZ Timeline Rules
(or at least guidelines for me to refer to and keep in mind)
1) Each game will be ordered by their release date, meaning the in-game events occur chronologically between games. However, events from stories and word of mouth told to the player can happen at any point in the past
2) Slight exceptions can be made for direct sequels or prequels (four sword and fsa) but vague ‘spiritual’ sequels (alttp and albw) are fair game
3) I will mostly use mainline games but will try to squeeze in as many non-canon games as I can within reason (hyrule warriors my beloved)
4) Time travel is on the table to make the order work but any timeline splits will only come from games where time travel is canonically used to some capacity
5) Unless specific periods of time are given (100 years in spirit tracks, etc), the time gap between each game is up to my discretion. Though I will try to honor the reoccurrence of certain characters or locations to decide the cut off point between ‘eras’ but not items or titles
6) I will try to explain away any discrepancies between games as a result of the reordering to the best of my ability (master sword, etc)
Have an idea for a new au where the timeline of the Zelda’s games are all in (mostly) chronological order
Fuck skyward sword I’m sorry, I love you, The Legend of Zelda (1986) is FIRST

My Concepts account is working again and I’m almost done with TOTH chapter 3!
And it only took (checks watch), two months?!
As a slave to my whims, I might just flip flop between projects. My ADHD can't keep up with only doing one project at a time like this and going on hiatus on the others. Which means I'm gonna be working on multiple AUs from now on but updates will be much less frequent, especially since I'm back in college too
New posting schedule (hopefully I can stick to this):
TOTH- once a month
TCAU- maybe 2-3 weeks for profiles and art stuff but I’ll still post my little headcanon musings and long textposts whenever to expand on this au. And to add stuff for future reference for myself ofc
