hello and welcome to fic rec friday! where, on friday, i rec five of my favourite fics.

1. Fade to Black by @yokohogawa

Things between Keith and Lance are changing but Keith is restless, especially with Shiro still weak, and ends up taking a bad decision: he leaves Lance alone in the Castle with a Lion he cannot pilot. Unable to form Voltron without the newly appointed Red Paladin, the four Paladins left struggle against the sudden attack of a Galra ship and later on take damage from the explosion of a star in close proximity. Lance, on the other end, is left to defend the Castle by himself and has little time to succeed: without energy, the Lions have only 6 hours of breathable air. Beyond that point, his friends will be dead.

okay yes technically this series is unfinished. HOWEVER the first two works ARE finished, and they are amazing showstopping incredible etc. tbh im not much of a black paladin lance fan, i genuinely think solo leadership is not what he is suited for, but this fic made me way more open to it. the way he handled severe crises was as fear stricken as it was awe inspiring highly recommend

He’d thought he would have been able to do something if he had been there, or at least if he was, the guilt wouldn’t be so heavy on his chest. But this time he was there. He was right fucking there and he decided that it was infinitly worse.

Basically there's a new threat after the Galra and it almost kills Lance. Desperate making out ensues, but it's okay to recognize when it's not the right time for it. Keith cries a lot cause he's older and grizzled and therefore not as emotionally stunted.

green sock reality? team still out fighting as adults and lance isn’t a fucking farmer while the rest of the team isn’t? keith’s abandonment issues treated with respect and dignity and also the acknowledgement that he’s older and therefore mature enough to handle those issues in a way that doesn’t risk a relationship that is important to him? lance understanding all this and using the supportive nature he is known for??? yes yes yes. stellar fic that should have way more hits than it does

random hot takes i have cause i’m bored and emotionally dead:

-i literally cannot stand any leo ship other than leolotus, especially if it involves 87 leonardo. i’m sorry but it has made me physically nauseous before. shipping as a joke or a small crush on someone else is fine but pls don’t bother me about other leo ships it’s too much for me. ((i won’t hate u if u ship other ships dw <3 i just ask not to be bothered by it)

-i’ve already ranted about this so i won’t go into depth but i hate the 2012 season 4 finale (moreso requiem than owari but owari still bothers me). i think in general? i think 2012’s writing is mindbogglingly bad after they leave the farmhouse in season 3, but that doesn’t mean i don’t still enjoy a lot of it. just don’t expect me to drop the issues that bother me. season 1 is my baby tho and i’ll defend it to my dying day.

-2012 apritello is good. they just had to go through character development. my only issue with it is that their entire situation was pushed to the background so ppl only notice their development if they’re paying attention to april and donnie the whole time (like i do).

-1987 treats its girl characters better than the other shows which is shocking.

-capril sucks. i have literally never liked it or was just neutral to it. i got close to liking them in idw but then casey became a jerk.

-that said i don’t like shipping casey or april with the turtles with the one exception of 2012 apritello.

-i think 03 casey and splinter are annoying.

-2012 casey is best casey :p

-2012 michelangelo pisses me off. he has some good lines here and there and sometimes has fun dynamics with other characters but in general he’s just an ableist representation of adhd and he literally never faces consequences for his mistakes and instead everything works out for him so he never grows. like literally he stays the same throughout the show. also i dislike his actor sorry :p and his entire dynamic with renet just ruins renet as a character and it bothers me.

-i forget rise exists most of the time tbh. it’s good but like. i forget. also rise leo and donnie’s writing bothers me anyway-

-1987 content needs to sTOP mischaracterizing raphael PLS PLS PLS. “michelangelo is the jokester and raphael groans at his jokes” NO!!! raphael is the jokester so he gets upset when his brothers make stupid jokes bc that’s HIS thing !!!!!! and he’s not angry in the same way other raphaels are except in red sky when he was angry that they became villains in society’s eyes!!! but otherwise he’s emotional and whiny but not angry!!!

-mick is kind of a golden retriever but in my opinion he is more of a blue eyed labrador

maybe bc he's a little shy and g retrievers are all out a have a very energetic vibe even when with strangers they're over energetic, but I feel like mick is more of a shy person who might be social but doesn't initiate any interaction + mick with short hair looks exactly like a labrador don't lie to yourself guys

-mick invites estie everywhere bc he's a very intuitive person (not that you need it to see it) but he feels like estie is always kinda left out even when he is invited to things - he is a empath and you can't change mind

-I know how bad it is to "diagnose" people out of nowhere BUT as a neurodivergent my self I feel such a neurodivergent vibe from him?!? am I the only one?

-out of all the drivers he's the one who seems to try to get out of his bubble the most (if we count Seb and Lewis out) he engages and tries to learn + support a lot of things that are socially important, out of the younger drivers he is the one who shows most interested in it too. I worry so much that once Lewis retires (still crying about Seb), we will basically have no drivers who strives for diversity and equality as strongly as they do

-I will say that i'm a gemini and the person I had the best romantic relationship was a Aries, Idk why people hate them?? They are literally one of the best zodiac signs, there is nothing about them I don't like, I don't know what that says about me

ramblings about the designs under the cut ;)

okay so going into this I had a colour palette and design for everyone but Hector so I made him up as I went and now I want to talk about it.

So his face shape and nose are both matching Lancelot and his skin palette is the same too. His freckles match Lionel though they could also come from his mother's side. His hair is unique and one of the things I think he gets from his mother since it's a different colour and texture than bors. On his eyes I was thinking about making them Grey bc it would really stand out from the others (since Lancelot and bors+Lionel are double cousins ) but I went with heterocromia instead and honestly I like it better. I made his cape thingy blue bc iirc the sun on his cost of arms was blue(and bc EVERYONE ELSE has red and white as they're arms) and also the pin/clip is sun shaped bc of that. I love him he's invading pendragon high now I don't make the rules.

Galahad had a design before but I haven't played around with Camelot Era galahad much. His reincarnated self looks a little more like Lancelot and Lionel bc the whole destiny chosen one thing was really bad for him. Anyways his hair and skin are slightly shifted from Elaine and his eyes are similar to Lancelot but a little greener.

Lionel is a little different than how I've drawn him before. I gave him lots of scars because he keeps fighting stuff and he's Not Lancelot tm so it doesn't always go great for him. I figure he wears his hair up all the time so he can throw hands at a moments notice. He looks a lot like his Father but doesn't remember him well enough to know this. Bors does remember and he's sad about it sometimes.

Hayes tries to avoid work as much as possible, he's often lounging at a bar or hanging around other pirates, annoying them with his constant rambling.

Notable physical traits: Absolutely covered in scars. 2012 pre-Brody sees most of them on his body, including the lack of both little fingers, left middle and right ring fingers. 2012 Post-Brody includes fresh slices across his face (skin no longer dangling, thank you medic) from his former best friend. Charlie Barlow (16) - Tech extraordinaire. He graduated high school early, so his mom took him on a cruise! How sweet! Until they run low on gas and float too close to Rook. After watching his mother be slaughtered by pirates, Charlie lost a piece of himself and gained a new life goal. Survive. He'll do anything to get on someone's good side, throw anyone under the bus. Entirely loyal to himself. Only being on the island for a year, most people don't know Charlie, and after an unfortunate meeting with Vaas left him chair bound, most don't see him. He stays in his shack, with limited internet connection doing whatever Eden (or anyone who threatens him) asks.

Elias Dubois (26) - Quiet, pensive, clean freak. Genuinely has OCD and also happens to prefer things neat. VERY clean, bathes at least once every two days, has two cabinets full of bleach and soap. No one is fully in control on Rook, not even Hoyt. Elias strives to control everything he can, including his own space and the makeshift cafe where he prepares food. Not particularly friendly with anyone aside from customer service politeness, he prefers to keep to himself by not sharing many personal details. This is just a defense, though, Elias is deeply void of human connection and severely touch starved. Stays in his cafe most of the time, has a small bedroom in the back, only really leaves to collect shipments of food/supplies sent to him.

Even when dealing with the pirates, she keeps her opinions to herself and tries to offer them some respite from their tumultuous lives. She grew up with the Rakyat, but finds more value in playing both sides than living for only one, despite her diehard allegiance to Citra. Can always be found in her tent, if not then she's being friendly with the residents of Badtown.

To give you an understanding of San’s Catastrophe Indicator, here’s some scale to context; a level eight would be Wooyoung somehow finding out his deepest darkest secret— that he still sleeps with his plushies every night; and a level ten would be getting zapped on the ass by his dad’s lightning bolt (and potentially having to stay in the infirmary for a week). So yes, a level nine is alarming, if not, exceptionally lethal.

It’s been exactly 53 minutes and 46 seconds since San has been watching you enthusiastically converse with an unfamiliar boy who’s sitting a little too close to you for his liking. His heart aches at the way you throw your head back as you let out your endearing giggles and how you teasingly shove his arm while the boy looks over to you with a grin, probably proud of a joke he told that made you laugh.

(It has also been 53 minutes and 46 seconds since the pink haired boy remains frozen behind a tree— the perfect hiding spot, he mused— all the while trembling like a leaf as he struggles to resist the temptation of flying in your direction curled up as a ball to hopefully cannonball the boy off the bench beside you.)

San huffs, he won’t let this be! It’s supposed to be the special day where he and the boys finally let you know about their feelings, and he would rather backflip off a cliff than let this undeniably handsome, seemingly perfect, flawlessly flirty guy who looks like he jumped out of a popular romance anime seduce you!

He falters, however, when he sees you stand up and grasp the boy’s hand to rise along with you. 

The poor boy’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets when he sees you inch closer to the blue haired boy, a pretty smile evident on your face as he then wraps an arm around you, pulling you close while whispering something into your ear that makes you blush. 

This can’t be happening! 

San’s hands turn jittery as he unconsciously moves away from his hiding spot, needing to get closer to you, his best friend that he’s been hopelessly in love with for years, but he can feel his heart finally breaking when you excitedly pull the boy into a warm embrace.

Snap!

Your head looks up to see San pausing his steps after accidentally stepping on a tree branch with eyes as wide as a deer caught in headlights. You innocently wave at him and San prays that the ground would swallow him whole.

He feels his hands grow clammy as he ungracefully dives behind a trash can to (unsuccessfully) hide himself from you and the unfamiliar boy walking together towards his direction. But of course, with the unmistaken pop of his pink hair, it’s hard not to notice him— especially for you.

“San!”

The demigod curses under his breath when he sees you in front of him and sheepishly stands up to meet your amused eyes. The blue-haired boy beside you stifles a laugh with an unconvincing cough and San thinks he hears the male mumble, “Oh, is this one of them—” before you elbow him on the stomach, cutting him off as he groans.

You pay no attention to the boy beside you as he doubles over in pain to clutch his gut, you turn to brightly grin at your best friend instead. “Meet Yeonjun! He just got here yesterday and, oh, he’s an Aphrodite kid! I think you both would get along pretty well.”

San feels his eye twitch. He tunes out your voice that rings throughout the air as you introduce him to your new friend.

A son of Aphrodite. Your new friend.

Aphrodite. The goddess of beauty and love. 

His heart sinks into his stomach.

This might be even worse than a code red level nine.

“There better be a good reason for San to drag me here in the middle of drafting up my Capture the Flag strategy plans.” Seonghwa, the brain and only hope of the group, crosses his arms and tsks. 

The state of an emergency calls San and Mingi (an Aphrodite kid and the first San ran to for consultation) to round up everyone in the infirmary, an unfitting spot to hold their “emergency meeting” but the two boys couldn’t wait for Yunho’s healer shift to end. Mingi taps his feet anxiously when it looks like San’s unwillingness to speak due to his sullen mood means that he will have to be the one to break the news.

Ever the poster child of rationality, he slowly starts, “We think… _____ might be interested in someone.”

“You mean some people,” Wooyoung cackles, sipping his wine from an ‘I LOVE DIONYSUS’ mug as he gestures to his best friends sitting around in a circle. “There’s nothing to worry about, everyone in camp told me she’s 100% gonna accept our confession. They even think we’re all already dating.” The boy proudly smiles, taking another sip of his wine as his stomach flutters at the thought of you.

“She’s in love with an Aphrodite kid,” San blurts out.

Splatters of red wine burst out of Wooyoung’s mouth when San’s words finally registers in his mind, leaving him to stammer and gape wordlessly as chaos ensues with the rest of the boys.

“What are you talking about?!” gasped Seonghwa, any previous thought of his strategy plans immediately forgotten.

“But— but we were supposed to tell her today!” Yunho, ever in tune with his emotions, wails while his hands slap his face to cover his already leaking eyes. “What are we gonna do with the humongous bouquet I requested the Demeter kids to make last night?!” He reaches out a shaky finger to point at the flower bouquet and an equally large teddy bear taking up a whole corner of the infirmary. 

Amidst the commotion, Mingi locks his arms around Yeosang who seems to have resigned from his body completely and looks like he’d willingly give himself up as lunch for any nearby sea monster. “Guys, calm down, maybe this is all just a misunderstanding—”

“An Aphrodite kid, you say?” interrupted Jongho, already rolling up his sleeves to relieve his bulging biceps from ripping his shirt apart. “What’s this guy’s name and what does he look like?”

“Jongho, you’re not killing anyone—”

“Mingi’s right,” Hongjoong sighs, eerily calm besides the smoke fuming from his nostrils and his eyes that glint devilishly. “Instead of killing him, making him suffer throughout his afterlife sounds much better, I’ll make sure my dad takes note of him.” 

“That’s not what I meant!” interjects Mingi who, still grasping a Yeosang who’s ready to jump up and dash off into the ocean, shoots a desperate look begging for help to the eldest. 

“Maybe he’s trying to seduce her into a pyramid scheme?” Seonghwa supplies weakly, brain racking to find any other reason to support the idea that maybe you’re merely close with this person as friends and not because you’re in love with him.

“And why the fuck would he do that?”

“We demigods aren’t immune to capitalism.”

“It’s hopeless,” counters San, shutting everyone else up. They look over to him with furrowed brows and trembling lips, one that matches his own. “You weren’t there– you didn’t see what I saw. She looked so happy.”

The eight sulky boys toddle around mopily as they pick apart the romance-themed decorations littered around the hidden area you all claimed as your group’s private hangout place. They can’t help but feel dejected over the fact that you— their best friend who they’ve been in love with for years, like someone else.

“Thought I’d find you guys here.”

Speak of the devil.

Their heads snap to find you walking on the path of rose petals they prepared earlier today, dressed in a baby blue mini dress you reserve only for special occasions instead of your usual get up of the orange Camp Half-Blood shirt and jeans. An easy smile rests on your face as you greet your best friends and they can’t help but feel their hearts grow heavier at the sight (except for Yeosang who is too busy panicking over you possibly noticing the ‘We Love You _____!’ banner that is still on display).

“______, what are you doing here?” The glint in your eyes visibly falters at Seonghwa’s question, your excitement twisting into unbridled nerves that settles uncomfortably in your gut when you notice everyone staring at you as if you shouldn’t be here.

Word spreads crazy fast in camp and it didn’t take long for you to overhear about the surprise the boys had planned for you. Although it unsettles you that the boys might be upset at their spoiled attempt of surprising you, you can’t help but feel giddy at the thought of them liking you back after all these years of you believing that your feelings went unreciprocated. 

So imagine your confusion when none of your best friends showed up to lead you to your surprise and that, after happily skipping all the way here, you find them hostile in your presence.

“Uh,” you trail off, nervously picking at the skin around your fingernails as you try to gauge their reactions. “It’s just… I didn’t see any of you today except for San. I missed you guys.”

It seems like that was the wrong thing to say as the boys, to your confusion, suddenly broke in tears.

“You can’t say things like that!” Yeosang hiccups, bringing a hand to his face to wipe the steady stream of tears falling from his eyes and earning broken mutters of agreement from the other boys.

"Wha—What?" you stammer, surprised at their reactions. What’s going on?

“You shouldn’t say things like that when you know we can’t have you.”

“What do you mean? Why can’t you?”

“Because you’re in love with someone else!”

You pause. “Huh?” Any trace of your previous nervousness vanished, instead replaced with rejoicement at the thought of them being jealous over you with someone else. You restrain the urge to giggle.

“It’s okay, ____. We understand,” sniffles Seonghwa, clamping his hand over Wooyoung’s mouth who was clinging onto his arm while yelling: ‘NO, WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND!’ It took awhile for the eldest to eventually tackle the younger to the ground, suppressing him by placing his weight over him while Wooyoung continues to let out muffled yelps as he struggles. Seonghwa turns to you and offers a weak smile, the usual shine in his eyes nowhere to be seen. “We’re happy for you.”

You try to contain your amusement. “You are?”

“We are,” Yunho nods, hastily wiping away his own tears to hold both of your hands in his (you can distinctly hear Wooyoung’s muffled scream of ‘WE’RE NOT!’ in the background). “We’ll always be here for you. We’ll always be your best friends.”

“That’s gonna be a problem, though,” you chide lightly, feeling the smile you’ve been trying to mask creep up to your face. “I want you to be more than just best friends.”

It took a couple seconds for the sulky boys to register what you said and when they did, you’d think they’d won the lottery or something (you’re pretty sure Jongho leaped three feet up in the air). 

“But what about that Aphrodite kid?”

You turn to Hongjoong in confusion. “What Aphrodite kid?”

Everyone turns to accusingly look at a certain pink haired boy. 

San gulps. “Yeonjun,” he mutters. It comes out sounding more like a question than a statement.

“...Yeonjun?” you burst into laughter, uncontrollable giggles escaping you from how ridiculous this is. “We’re just friends and he has a boyfriend. I was even talking about you guys all day to him!”

“Y—you were?” San stutters, already feeling the pointed glares burning on his back. “I—I thought you liked him…” 

“I don’t,” you reassure them with a smile. “How could I when I’m in love with you guys?”

Mingi lets out a relieved scream, enveloping you in a tight hug to bury his face in your hair and inhale his favorite scent— the sweet smell of coconuts; you. “You don’t know how happy I am to hear that. We’ve been in love with you too.”

You take a peek from Mingi’s embrace to see the other boys celebrating; Wooyoung’s already chugging down a freshly opened bottle of wine while the rest of the boys are simultaneously doing tiny hops in a group hug and letting out excited yelps. Your cheeks ache from grinning too hard at how cute your boys are.

“_____! We need to go to the infirmary, we prepared something for you!” Yunho excitedly pulls at your arm, just remembering the bouquet and teddy bear for you, separating you from the blonde giant who’s now sporting a pout at you leaving him.

Now that it's finally over, I feel like its appropriate to share all the daily c!Ranboos I'm the most proud of, and the reasons why I like them so much.

I'll probably redraw some of these in the future!

Day 5 - Brain Fried

Looking back to it, this one isn't all that great compared to other Daily c!Ranboos I have done, but it's the first one I did in which I tried to make an actual composition rather than just. Drawing c!Ranboo. So it's kind of an important one!

Day 13 - Allium

Kind of similarly as Brain Fried, this one is kinda rough in the edges when looking back on it, but I loved the eerie vibe of it, and the effort of using a more limited palette!

Day 21 - Bouquet

It's just cute. He looks so squishy! Not much more to add tbh :)

Day 22 - Under the Weather

I personally love how I made the effect of them "disintegrating" due to contact with water look! I like how the particles flow :) I love how I made the effect of the water dripping, how it could kinda look like tears running down their face. I used "Under the Weather" in both a literal and metaphorical sense!

Day 28 - Tears

I like the expression and colors :) tbh the tears could be better but otherwise I like it.

Day 32 - Awake

It's soft, comforting, bright, warm, I love the way I did the colors SO MUCH! The expression is everything to me, I like how their hair looks. Also you might notice that I have 100% used the same colors for Revival and Freedom.

Day 34 - Arrival

I just like their goofy expression and how much of a twig they look. Silly lad

Day 38 - Butcher Army

I LOVE the expression and the limited color palette! While theres bits that could be improved upon this is one of my best compositions here.

Day 39 - Apprentice

Technoblade.

Day 41 - Memory Book

I like how the anatomy looks here! Looks very sleek and natural I guess? I love how the tail lies on the ground. I just can feel the weight here a bit.

Day 44 - Doomsday

The blue sky with the bright red flames, the lighting, c! Ranboo's silhouette, idk this is just very pleasing to look at!

Day 64 - Revival

I can't even elaborate on how much I love this one, it's probably The Best drawing (drawings?) of Daily c!Ranboo! I used the same color palette as Awake bc I wanted to give it the same comforting and soft vibe, I love how fuzzy it all looks, how quiet it seems...Also its a comic too! I speedran that in 3 or so hours and im so damn happy with it.

Day 67 - Light

The colors are very nice, I like the lighting!

Day 76 - Dance

I like the poses! I tend to struggle to draw c!Tubbo but he looks very cute here. I think I made c!Ranboo a bit too short but tbh it was a challenge to make the pose work!

Day 82 - Windy

I like the colors, the expression, AND THE HANDS!! Its fuckign wimdy!

Day 89 - Void

HORROR VIBES! I wanted to do at least one creepy-looking drawing for this challenge that I liked and this is the one for sure!

Day 90 - Stars

I like the colors a lot here! The way he looks up to the sky with the big ol' eyes and his pose feels so natural.

Day 91 - Birthday

I may have speedran this in like an hour and a half but GOD I just LOVE the symbolism in this drawing! The balloon because birthday! But its black because death! Ghostboo is the one holding it because they're the one in the overworld after all. How c!Ranboo looks down while Ghostboo stares at them!

Day 92 - Freedom

I used the same palette as Awake and Revival, it just felt right! I tried my best to do a piece that'd be forth of being the "sendoff" for the daily c!Ranboo series, and I do think it holds up!

a/n: for the sweet and spice event hosted by @bluexiao and @anantaru! First time participating in an event officially, was pretty fun tbh.

Word count: 900+ (IM SORRY XIAOOO I COULDNT THINK OF HOW TO MAKE IT LONGER SO HIS ISNT AS MUCH AS GANYUS 😭)

Ganyu

ganyu who'd lay on your lap after a lengthy day, wanting your familiar comfort before heading off to rest.

You both watched the birds fly from the mountains, off to who knows where. While ganyu observed one take off, she noticed 2 rare glaze lillies right where the bird was.

"y/n.. Look at those glaze lillies!" Ganyu points out

You look to where she was pointing to "Oh wow! Thats rare in these areas. Cmon, lets take a look."

Ganyu follows your steps to the ancient flower. Once she sat by it, the half-qilin hummed a tune to it. Glaze lillies are known to read human- or immortals hearts. If the atmosphere is happy, the sound of music is lively, the glaze lily will open. If they aren't, and the surrondings are full of negative thoughts, the flower will wither away. It can listen to peoples singing aswell! Which is why ganyu wanted to experiment with it

Her voice was a gentle tone, a tone that calmed your senses. You closed your eyes to focus, and opened them again once she had stopped.

Ganyu touched a petal of the glaze lily, inspecting it to see if there was any effect. "Im not the best at singing, b-but i'd like to know what you thought!"

"It was great ganyu," You put your hand on hers and smiled "Your singing voice is notably clear."

Her cheeks went red after hearing such compliment "Thank you.. Ah! Look at the glaze lily on the left."

Your attention transfered to that flower, and because it listened to ganyu's sining, it bloomed.

"These flowers never fail to amaze me. I've heard that the geo archon is fond of this flower too. Dont you agree?" You say to- wait.

No reply?

"Ganyu?" You turn your head to the blue-haired adeptus behind you, and you didnt notice that she was starting to braid your hair

"Hold on y/n. I got an idea. Stay still while i braid your hair, if you'd let me." She says as she slightly combs your hair with her hands, to make it easier to braid.

You walk to the pond and look at your braided hair in multiple angles, and back to ganyu

"You're doing so well today ganyu! If i could keep this on until tomorrow i would. But then it would get messy.."

She didnt come up with a proper reply, but instead nodded. Not long after, she picks herself up and slightly shakes your hand, like a signal to get up. So you proceed and go back to the two glaze lilies.

She places her hand on your cheek, picks up the same left glaze lily that bloomed from its stem and puts it on your braid.

"Perfect! But... I have one more request." Ganyu shyly states, then continues

"Sing for me? Could you make the other glaze lily bloom?"

"As you wish."

Xiao

xiao who'd watch you from afar, not wanting to disturb you. Listening to your quiet hums as you rest by a tree. You both havent seen eachother in awhile, So he was cautious for no reason.

Oh, your body looked so delicate. Your hair reflecting the rays of sunlight that went through the leaves of the said tree, the gentle movements of your hands.. and your lips. Those precious lips. All he wanted to do was to put them right on his.

He comes closer, I mean, its you anyways.

He remembered a time where the both of you used to talk to eachother a lot, and for a long time. "Them just accompanying me used to be a weekly thing.. but y/n had become a bit busy. It wouldnt hurt to approach them again?"

"Xiao. I missed you! What brings you here?" You ask, smiling. You recognize the sound of his footsteps, since you know he'd rather not chat much.

You miss him? "..Greetings, y/n."

Your bored mind thinks "Come here, i'd like to... Hold ur hand..."

"What?" Xiao thinks that something has gotten into you. You werent this direct with words before, right?

You hold your hands together and raise it to him, practically begging "Please~? For the love of rex lapis??"

"Fine."

"Yay!!" You instantly brighten up and playfully hold his hand, then placing your now intertwined hands on the grass. Putting your head on his shoulder, you hum a familiar tune to calm his senses. That gradually turns into you singing softly- with lyrics now. A song inspired by a liyuen legend, the adepti. Which included the person sitting right beside you!

Oh how he adored it. Once you start its like he wants it to never end.

Yeah, we’re doing this. I've probably put way too much thought and time into this. But at this point I have to share it. Why the Ikesen guys, you ask? Because they have the most traditional clothes, especially seeing that nowadays western-style fashion is present everywhere! Let's get it!

How did this post even came alive? Tbh, I was just browsing Pinterest and one of my secret hobbies is that I like to thirst over fashion runways and designer stuff. Not that I would ever buy them, or have the money to buy them, but I still enjoy it for some reason haha. So one time, I was looking at an outfit and suddenly a warlord popped into my head. That's when I decided that I'll do a full detailed research on this. Inspired mainly by their armors and color palettes. (First I thought about drawing the outfits myself, but my drawing skills are questionable, so I edited them instead. My editing skills are better, I promise.)

Also, as I said; these are from fashion runways, so almost everything is from luxury brands and/or quality designers. So not the 'typical' street fashion, because I figured it would be more interesting this way. Plus since I needed a lot of jackets and blazers for the guys, I'm thanking Balmain, because most of these are from their shows XD.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi

I started with him for some reason, when I decided to put together the collages (?). I don't know why, because when I searched for materials and inspiration I was a bit gutted when it came to him. Nonetheless I think managed to craft a decent outfit! A light traditional-looking top, nothing too fancy. Then these cargo pants that can connect as a top as well, in a garish orange color. I just had a vibe that Hideyoshi would rock it. Also it can be very functional! Then boots, to not slip in the hallways. Some leather gloves, to protect the hand and the skin (and he sometimes gives it to Nobunaga, bc he's worried.) And a bigger bag, because he packs for two people usually; Mitsunari and himself.

Maeda Keiji

The free, sometimes unhinged party guy. Who dresses as if the concept of summer had raided a party store. So I wasn't afraid to give him something unusual! Big, loose-legged pants that ventilate well. Some chunky white basketball shoes, that you also see in street dance videos. A traditional-looking top as well, with a kimono-like neckline, even simpler than Hideyoshi's. A magenta belt for good contrast, looks as if it's made out of satin! And to top it off, a leather jacket with an interesting opening! I admit, at first I wanted to use the jacket with nothing under it, making Keiji shirtless... But then I didn't. 🤫 Nonetheless, he rocks it anyway!

Mouri Motonari

I admit, this wasn't the first setup for him. I changed almost all the things, when I revisited it, since I did his outfit early on. I changed everything except the shoes lol. But for the better, since my first attempt was a disaster. I like his tailcoat the best, since it makes me remember sailors and the navy - you know, seeing he's a pirate -, with it's design. Also, it color IS navy blue, so plus points for that. The pants are quite simple, but still got that nice blue color, like the sea. I also wanted to honor his tassels, that are on his main design in the game, and I like the harsh red accent color, it matches his eyes! The top under the jacket is a simple long-sleeved black shirt, with a little extra cut in the front. He's got nice, lace up boots, with some animal printing on it, I believe? I liked the shape haha. And I added his gloves on, since we know he needs them.

Naoe Kanetsugu

I won't lie, he looks like a K-pop poster boy, but I just got these vibes from him, when I was putting this together. The black-and-white contrast is strong, I'm not sure why it's him out of all the warlords, but it was intuition haha! His outfit is fairly simple with the thight black pants, and black shoes. He has a longer, leather belt on for important design elements. His top/shirt is the most extra, with the half-and-half form! I think overall it's pleasing for the eyes. Not as colorful as Keiji, but still cool and collected!

Sanada Yukimura

I wanted only black and red pieces for him, strictly. Especially some harsh red, since he's that kid who speaks his mind no matter what and has a strong sense of honesty and justice. So red seemed appropriate and in-character for him. The details are very sharp-edged and abstract on them, mainly the top. Yukimura is also like that in a way. The pants got a red add-on as well, and the boots' laces are blood red too! Then there's this weird harness thing and the shoulder blades (?)... I was trying to mimic something like an armor, not sure how I did, but it has the rough-around-the-edges vibe - literally -, that I was going for. Then gloves, and a baseball cap too, because he's the town's cool kid!

Oda Nobunaga

My first idea was a big, epic mafia-boss fur coat. Then it ascended into something feather-like, since he has Haguro. Then it became this fancy black feather thing, on his shoulders. Another tailcoat, probably from the same runway as Motonari's XD. With luxurious black velvet design, with some nice accent blue details, and the materials mix on the belt, which is good contrast! The pants are a big baggy which I don't mind, but they're simple enough to tone the outfit down. And lastly the tall boots, which I was a bit hesitant to give to him, but it was a good decision! It's aesthetic is still very boss-like, so I'm happy that I achieved my goal!

Imagawa Yoshimoto

Did I went overboard with the idea that he has a pet peacock? Yeah, but if it's Yoshimoto, he needed something fab! He looks like a crazed bird lady, but I promise he's a crazed bird lady at a fashion show, so it's not forever. I found this photoshoot where the models had peacock themed coats, shirts and everything, so it was meant to be. I didn't put anything under his big coat, but let's pretend he wears a thin shirt, for good measure. Also, the main piece is the poncho-like thing, so I made the pants simple as well. The neckline is an intricate lace, to mix textures. And on the sides I tried to mimic the colorful feathers of a peacock. It's obvious the coat was put together from many separate pieces, but it's special. As a last touch I gave a hat to him, to add to his gentlemanly side.

Date Masamune

The huge urge to dress him in those cool dragon-patterned clothes! I had a blast finding pieces like that! I wanted to give him a loose, care-free outfit, to capture the real reckless side he has! Although the top and the pants aren't that compatible; since the top is a more elegant suit jacket and the pants seem like a pair of trainers, I still think it looks good! (Also because I definitely wanted to use that top and refused to let go.) I found this another harness thing I believe, and I wanted to mimic his armor with it, and I think it certainly makes the full picture better! I gave him gloves too, but fingerless ones this time. Also I found this super cool, over-the-top mask that made me remember an ancient dragon so it seemed like a good accessory. Instead of an eyepatch. 😅

This was a long process, and we're only halfway in!

Lucifer

His eyes widen slightly as he looks down at you.

He's a little shook because he's not used to people touching him out of the blue like this.

Relaxes rather quickly and hugs back. At first, he's smirking at you a bit until he notices how sad you look. 

"MC? Is something the matter?"

When you only hug tighter and hide your face more he just sighs. 

"I can't help if you won't say what's wrong."

If you decide to tell him, he'll listen quietly while gently rubbing your back and possibly give advice, if the situation calls for it.

If you don't… well, he'll take that as a sign that you don't really wanna talk about it and comfort you anyway.

He'll probably put on one of his records for you both to listen to so that the music might soothe you.

Mammon 

Huh??? What???

He's so shook and flustered.

He's honestly too flustered for a hot minute to even notice you're sad.

"MC, what the hell do ya think you're doin', huh? Huggin' me outta nowhere like that…! Ya gotta warn me first!"

When he finally notices how sad you are, he immediately softens and starts asking qUESTIONS.

He wants nAMES.

"Hey, are you okay? What happened? Who hurt you? Did someone hurt you? Was it Belphie? I swear if it was Belphie-"

He's finna WHOOP some ASS.

If you decide to tell him and it turns out it is someone and he can go kick their ass, then you can bet your pretty little butt that's exactly what he'll do. No one hurts his human! >:(

If you tell him and it's not someone, or someone he can beat up, then he'll just sit you on his couch and put his jacket on you and hug you.

If you decide not to tell him at all, he'll be a little butt-hurt over it but he won't press you on it.

Leviathan 

He's died

He has a fucking aneurism the moment you touch him.

His entire body is red, help him.

But then he notices you look sad and calms down a bit.

He has no idea what to do, help him

If you say yes, then he'll listen. He's a good listener bc he has literally no idea what to say.

If you say no then he'll probably be a little relieved bc he knows he would be terrible help.

Either way, he'll sit down with you and watch anime or play video games with you.

Satan

He blushes a little when you hug him.

He's pretty observant, so he notices pretty quickly that something is up as he hugs back.

"Hello, MC. Are you alright? You look upset about something."

He'll listen if you decide to tell him, stroking your hair gently. 

If not, he'll respect your decision and comfort you anyway.

He'll bring you over to his bed and sit down with you, after moving all the books littered on it of course.

He'll pull you in his lap and either read to you or show you cute cat pictures. Or maybe both, who knows.

And when he starts to notice you looking down again, he'll hug you tightly and whisper sweet nothings to you until you fall asleep.

Asmodeus

Aw, how cute, you want his attention~!

He doesn't hesitate to hug you back.

Hey, he's not complaining, as long as he gets to hold you and show how much he loves you!

Then he notices how sad you look and he immediately cups your face in his hands.

"Oh, what's wrong, darling? What has you looking so down? Come, sit with me and you can tell me all about it while I give you a lovely manicure."

He'll sit with you on his bed and dote on you, listening if you decide to tell him your woes and humming soothingly if you don't.

He'll offer to take a bath with you to help you feel better.

Actually, he'll give you a full-on spa day.

This man will seriously pamper you till you feel better.

He'll take you shopping, do your nails and makeup, do your hair, whatever it takes to make you feel better.

Beelzebub

He's a little taken aback by the sudden hug, but he's more than happy to accept it! He loves hugs!

He hugs you back very gently as if he's handling a baby bird. He doesn't want to hurt you!

But then he notices you look sad.

"MC? What's wrong? You look upset. Are you hungry?"

If you tell him, he'll listen very intently, nodding every so often to show he's listening. 

If you don't, he'll understand.

Either way, he takes you to his bed and sits you down. He gets you some food and sits on the bed with you and pulls you into his lap, giving you food.

Once you decide you're finished with food, he'll snuggle you gently until you fall asleep.

Belphegor

He doesn't mind at all and doesn't hesitate to hug back.

He immediately notices something is wrong but doesn't say anything about it right away, instead, letting you hug him in silence while gently rubbing your back.

After a long moment of silence, he pulls back only enough so that he can look at your face.

"You're upset about something. I could tell as soon as you hugged me. So what is it?"

If you decide to tell him, he'll be kind of glad and listen.

If not, he'll just give a curt nod.

Afterward, he pulls you over to his bed and pulls you in with him, clinging to you like a koala.

It's snuggle time now. You have no choice. 

He'll probably fall asleep though tbh

Diavolo

This man is through the roof as soon as you touch him.

He's super lonely, so any amount of physical affection has him soaring.

But then he notices you look sad.

He's immediately worried. Did he do something wrong? Did one of the brothers bully you? Is there some demon harassing you? What happened??? Tell him!

"MC? Are you okay, what happened?"

If you tell him, he'll listen intently and if it's something he can do something about, he will, immediately. 

If you don't tell him, or it's something he can't do anything about, then he'll bring you with him to his office and hold you in his lap while he works and have Barbatos bring you some herbal tea to make you feel better.

He's honestly just so gentle and soft with you I can't-

Barbatos

You might think he'd have seen this coming, but he honestly wasn't looking for anything like this, so he's kind of taken off guard when you hug him which is uncommon for him.

MC, please, he's trying to work-

Then he notices how upset you look.

"MC, are you alright? It appears that something's troubling you."

He won't look into the future to find out in case you decide not to tell him. He respects your boundaries, you know?

If you tell him, he'll listen and try to do something about it if he can, most likely talking to Diavolo about it. 

If you don't tell him or can't do anything, then he'll gently sit you down in a chair, wrap you in a blanket and bring you some chamomile tea to soothe you.

He'll talk to you as he goes about his work, gently tending to your needs while still continuing his daily routine.

He's a butler, so he's the multitasking king-

Plus, he's used to comforting Diavolo, particularly when the Prince was young, so he knows how to handle it.

Simeon

Oh- a hug? Well alright.

He's happy to oblige, he enjoys your presence and your touch.

He notices quickly that you look sad though.

"What's the matter, my little lamb? Is something troubling you?"

He'll sit down with you and give you tea

If you decide to tell him, he'll listen, gently offering advice. He likely won't take care of it for you, he wants you to be able to take care of yourself! But he'll still hold you and comfort you.

If you don't tell him, then he'll nod understandingly and comfort you anyway.

He's so soft and caring about it and he'll sit with you until you calm down, gently hugging you and stroking your hair.

Solomon

He's a little taken aback when you hug him.

But then he smiles and is about to tease you when he notices you look sad.

He blinks and hugs you back.

"MC, what's the matter? It must be something big if you're hugging me like this."

If you tell him, he'll listen while seemingly deep in thought. If it's got to do with some demon, then perhaps you'll find that they oddly disappear one day… if it's one of the brothers, then they'll find that they get hit with lots of magical pranks. If it's something else then he'll sit with you and help you work it out.

If you decide not to tell him, he'll be a little sad but he'll understand anyway and sit with you to comfort you.

He's actually surprisingly sweet and understanding.
