Manifesting: plz make me actually get a new job once my wife goes on disability
I'm looking at research lab management jobs at universities because our bat lab was not run well (lol) and other labs were not run well, and I can keep an entire small business afloat through overworking myself
#totes bro#i do not have a masters#but what i do have is years of experience purchasing industrial goods selling industrial goods speccing out and designing them#and i can do literally any job in an organization EXCEPT closing the books at the end of the month lol I'm not doing that#but i can do accounts payable and accounts receiable i can arrange logistics i supervise a production team#i used to do sales calls i do all purchasing i unwillingly do business development because my boss asks me what we should do as a company#i schedule I have figured out how to use our ERP system more efficiently than many larger companies with it#and most importantly: i clean things#which no one else ever does#this is me just pumping myself up in 3 months i can leave.....#ill have to move? which im terrified of#i love using my blog for this kind of post because 4 years from now im going to be like “aweeee”#oh i also do engineering and the sales engineer doesnt do engineering so i literally do all engineering outside of product design#while doing everything else#But i dont have a masters degree so we'll see what happens#i also think universities hire from within for this type of thing#but i personally think they should hire me 🥰#Because university labs are like fish out of water when they try to buy components to enact their ideas#i know because in addition to bat lab i have many university customers who have no idea whats happening or how to submit POs#my lab literally did not know how to send out RFQs? or ask for quotes? people do free engineering for you to sell you stuff#we were an engineering lab and didnt send out RFQs for components we just looked at ehat was available to buy online#??????? i dont know how they survive

Now That I Think About It They Could Have Just Had An Asmodean Crystal And All This Bs With Stolas Could Be Written Out (Or At Least Rewritten To Be Less Insufferable)
Tumblr media
Seriously, the Asmodean Crystals just showed how useless Stol-ass really is to the plot. They could have easily stolen the crystal from someone which again could lead to stories where they still could get in trouble with Asmodeus for stealing from one of the people licensed to have one. The series would have had to be rewritten to fit focusing on the assassination and not the tired love drama. We could have had something more similar with the pitch drama without all the bs drama with a selfish pos with a victim complex. Or even better maybe Asmodeus grants Blitzo permission to have it so he can do his own business but again they still have to be careful about not catching heaven's notice. And Asmodeus instead of Stolas could be their powerful benefactor.
As for Stolas, instead of him being a major character he could be someone who is the client of an episode or a few and offers them to do a hit on someone like base on his pilot episode where he wants someone killed to prevent people from knowing global warming was happening so more people can die. He could become infatuated and flirty towards Blitzo and maybe it mention he has a fetish for imps. And even maybe make him a recurring, supportive character who is trying to give Blitzo a call but tries rejecting him because he's creepy about it. If you want him to be a love interest make him a divorced gay man after splitting with his wife and having joint custody of his daughter.
His focus episodes would be for later but they won't take over the show. Maybe have him develop to respect Blitzo more and to gradually have Blitzo warm up to him as he treats him as an equal. Looloo Land would still be a thing but it would take place later in season one where we see Octavia where he would still hire Blitzo to bodyguard so he can have a day out with his daughter to get some parent/child time together since he doesn't see her as much due to the divorce. And he could learn how he should focus on being a parent and not push aside for his love interest. Best of all it's not Blitzo's fault a marriage and family life was destroyed.
You could still have his past bad relationship issues show up but again this time it's not tied with forcing to think he did anything bad to the owl. And Stolas isn't as bad as his canon persona who forced him into a transactional exchange. He instead comes to learn he really does see Blitzo as more of a person and also gradually comes to respect the other IMP members as well. The stigma of both of them together would be emphasized and maybe in House Of Asmodeus it could get him in trouble since Blitzo is seeing going out with a prince which Amodeus condemns in public (but secretly he himself is seeing Frizzaroli who covers his imp heritage up). Since he's now their benefactor it could give the risk of having the crystal taken away which could put a snag in their relationship and maybe Stolas suggests that they shouldn't be seen so he doesn't risk losing so much for his job. And it would be bittersweet for both of them as they were organically catching feelings and it stings. And again season two still focuses on the missions but also the subplot would be about how to move around seeing Stolas without incurring Asmodeus wrath on them for an interclass/interspecies relationship.

transition timeline. or something. idk i wanted to make a cohesive visual timeline of all the different iterations of crackpot that tend to show up in my work, since hys appearance swings wildly from points in time
Tumblr media
+ i have notes on each one C:
•pre-job- fresh out of nursing school, constantly exhausted. doesn't know what to do w hys hair/doesn't have time to give a fuck so hy leaves it in a ponytail most of the time. dyes it bleach blonde to look more like the mother that raised hymn but it's naturally black. freshly on t so hys voice is mid-transition & a little squeaky/cracky. HATES hys face, the cleft lip that runs into hys crosshair is a genetic thing & reminds hymn of hys bio parent who was a huge POS
•freshly hired- WAY more comfortable in the anti-dissonance helmet. gives hymn more confidence, bright-eyed and bushy tailed abt hys awesome new job. extremely friendly w/ everyone despite hys anxieties, trying as hard as hy can to make a good first impression
•post-facemelter- this was the first step in hys disillusionment with the nexus core. MASSIVELY traumatizing, marked hys dissonance poisoning moving on to the second stage. became far more closed off, irritable and jealous- really only interacted w sheriff, phobos & the team working w hymn on the enmeshment program, + gonne/hofnarr if hy HAD to. stopped trying to play nice w people for the most part. became FIERCELY protective & defensive of hys work, developed a sunk-cost fallacy mindset over the enmeshment program (+ dissonance causing hymn to spiral into fixation over it)
•arena mode- phobos bought hymn the jacket somewhere around this time. doesn't wear it 24/7 BUT does wear it frequently enough to be noticeable. starts skulking around nevada central in hys offtime to repay some debt to phobos hy was loaned for hys work- it's between here and the facemelter incident that hy starts getting some. Weird. ideas. about hymnself & the dissonance-induced nightmares + hallucinations hys constantly plagued with. sort of internally developing buoyancy as a belief system, but doesn't talk about it with anyone
•post-nexus collapse (directly following)- suffered a pretty severe head injury in the chaos of the initial zed outbreak, high-tailed it for the streets & eventually started using the sewers as a safe place to recon (couldn't reach hys apartment without getting mauled). some asylum patients/people from the enmeshment program team eventually seek hymn out, sometimes toting zeds behind them- this is the very small beginning of hys faction!
•mask change- marker of complete rejection of hys old identity. the new mask is made out of hys old anti-DR helmet, hammered out & fit to shape. cult is growing in numbers, starts aquatically adapting around here (webbed paws + a tail), finally has space to start figuring out the weird...powers? given by overexposure to dissonance. (teleportation & etc)
•present day- you know hymn! this is the one following the events of project nexus, you know the story from there

Carry On
Tumblr media
Genre: Angst | Pairing: Rei x Reader Word Count: 3k Content Warning(s): Major character death (your death as per anons request hhfhfh), major blood/injury (gunshot wound), not 100% medically accurate, severe angst, hurt no comfort Author(s) Note: Thanks for the request lovely anon and letting me write out of my comfort zone /pos /gen :0
It was already very mind-numbing when Miri was ripped away from you, your lover, and his partners’ arms. Even more so when Rei announced that he was going back to his father in the New Year.
The days following Miri’s departure were quiet, slow, and everyday you kept on yearning for the joy back. Specifically, what were you to do without her around anymore, you were hired on almost a year prior to be her babysitter but developed a bond with Kazuki and Rei. During that time, you had fallen for Rei and he reciprocated those feelings but the two of you never defined the relationship, but you knew that you were his and vice versa.
With that, his departure stung just as hard as Miri’s weeks prior. The night before he was set to leave, he sat next to you on the signature red couch in the middle of the living room, squeezing your hand for comfort in silence as you let the tears fall.
“Is there… no other way?” you managed to breathe out, stifling through tears. He let his gaze fall upon your sullen body.
“Sorry… Thanks for everything (Y/N)... I mean it. I…” he let out in a shaky breath.
“I love you too,” you finished, looking up with your tear-filled orbs to gaze at him. He shifted his gaze away from your look to avoid shedding tears himself, but you could tell he had almost broken down, quivering his lips as he pressed them against yours in a last ditch effort to savor you before letting go. His warmth stayed around your form until morning when it dissipated as he left one last peck on your slumbering form before turning away. It was for the better, for your safety.
You let yourself slumber until an ungodly hour, knowing that he was no longer by your side. Your heart ached to be with your lover and to have Miri’s cheerful presence back. Shifting to wipe the sleep from your eyes, you glanced at the coffee table that had a picture thrown upon it, an image of yourself with Rei during one of your first dates together. You clutched at it, pressing it close to your heart as you let more tears slip from the corners of your eyes.
He had left the last piece he had of you behind.
The apartment was quiet, you had no idea how long you sat there unmoving and didn’t look around until you felt Kazuki’s presence next to you. “(Y/N)... have you eaten anything?” his voice softly called out. You shook your head as you finally slipped the picture of you and Rei in your wallet. You felt his palm trace the small of your back, giving you pats of comfort.
“I miss him Kazu… I miss Miri too,” you managed to utter out. He let out a sigh while glancing in your direction.
“I do too. C’mon let’s walk outside for some fresh air and to get you something to eat.” You silently obliged, following his figure to the door, knowing that a distraction could get you through the rest of the day.
You wondered how Rei was doing, if his father was treating him tolerably.
You walked in silence with Kazuki as he led you to Yadorigi where he had intentions of asking Kyutaro for more jobs as his means of distraction. That only led to the older man throwing a packet of cash in front of Kazuki as he was not in the right mindset to complete a job without butchering it. You let out a chuckle, your first smile through the day as you watched the two of them bicker.
“To cheer you up (Y/N),” Kyutaro said warmly as he slid you your favourite drink, a strawberry lemonade. You felt a pang in your chest again as you remember that it was Rei’s favourite drink too and the two of you would share all the time when visiting Kyu.
“Thanks,” you mumbled as you sipped on it, trying to shove the memories out from your head.
Having a bit more energy, you kept up with Kazuki’s pace as evening started to fall. You gazed at the shimmering lights beyond the horizon line as you crossed the bridge with the older man back to the apartment. Your dazed trance was broken with the sharp trill of a ringtone coming from Kazuki’s phone.
“Kazuki where are you right now?”
Rei…?
Your heart rate started to increase as you heard your lover’s voice. “Uh, on my way back from Kyu’s?”
“Go to Miri, now! Please! Hurry!”
You turned your head in shock as you heard Rei’s panicked voice. The two of you turned in unison to run the opposite direction as Kazuki dialed Kyu’s number.
“Leave something behind?”
“Kyu-chan, can you contact Miri’s mom?! Tell them to get out of there now!” Kazuki huffed over the phone. Shit. This was not good news. Miri is in danger.
You felt the blood rushing to your head, heartbeat pounding in your ear as you suspected that Rei’s father had something to do with this sudden change in plans. You followed Kazuki, ignoring the tightness in your chest that began to form with your sprit to match the man’s speed. At least Misaki’s building was a short distance away.
Kazuki burst in the apartment with his gun drawn to be met face to face with Ogino Ryo. You stayed behind, having no formal training with fighting. You grimace as you witnessed Ogino exert his force onto your friend. You managed to slip into the apartment unnoticed, grabbing a knife from the kitchen in the meanwhile as your main goal was to get to Miri’s side. You felt your heart drop as you saw Misaki hunched over in a pool of her own blood. She noticed your presence as she weakly gestured a limp finger towards the closed off room.
“Miri… in there…” she mouthed.
You opened the door to slide yourself in without drawing attention to the two men fighting, letting out a sigh of relief as you saw Miri’s sleeping form. You slid the knife in your back pocket as you quietly shuffled around the room to hastily pack Miri’s things, knowing that your duty as a caretaker was to get her to safety in that moment. You froze as you heard a gunshot and heard Kazuki grunting. You held your breath as you heard Miri shuffle. If she were to wake up and find her Papa and Mama gone, she would be utterly devastated and who knows how she would recover from that.
You breathed out a sigh of relief as you glanced at her sleeping form, unresponsive to the commotion outside. You felt tense again as the noises stopped and a set of footsteps could be heard closing into the room you were in. You held your breath as the doors were swung open with force, practically ripping them off their hinge. Ogino stood towering over you and Miri. He relentlessly aimed his handgun at Miri’s sleeping body.
“No!” You shouted in a fit of fury, throwing yourself in front of her to be a shield for any incoming bullets. A fiery numbing feeling was shot through your flesh as you collapsed on the ground. The adrenaline was pumping through your veins as you prepared to take more bullets from Ogino, but to both of your surprise, the cartridge was empty. He grunted as he turned back around to Kazuki. You felt your chest burning and the smell of flesh illuminate the air as you found the will to move next to Miri.
The blaring sounds of sirens closing into the apartment was never as relieving as that moment as you heard Kyu’s voice.
“This is the police, drop your weapons!”
Ogino shot a glare at you and Kazuki as he spat out, Look after these two in their final moments. Cower in fear in the meantime.” He leapt from the balcony as he made his escape as Kyu entered the apartment after his stunt.
His eyes widened as he witnessed Misaki barely holding onto life on floor in a pool of her own blood as well as Kazuki who got shot by her side, yelling at her to keep hanging onto life for Miri’s sake. The pain hadn’t kicked in from your wound yet, but you scooped Miri up, stumbling out to place her in Kyu’s possession.
“That bastard left…” you managed to croak out before your vision got hazy and everything went dark.
The next thing you knew, you were in a rumbling vehicle barreling towards the unknown. You groggily whispered out, “Where are we?”
You were too quiet to be heard as man in the front kept driving on as the other shifted in his seat tending to his wounds. The adrenaline wore off but your vision was still fading as you noticed your blood soaked bandages through your sweater that Kazuki must have wrapped around you. You twitched as you tried to sit up, the pain from your bullet wound finally settling in. It felt like you had fallen from a five story building and you felt your body stiffen up but also that burning sensation was still there. You weren’t sure what state of injured you were in, if it was even a clean shot or not, but all you could do was trust that your friends would take you to safety. What a hellish day.
You let your consciousness fade away again until you heard a faint sound call your name through your haze. “(Y/N)... (Y/N) please…”
The warm coloured light illuminated the room as a familiar face appeared in your vision. The loose hair piece dangling from dark coloured locks with a worrisome look added to the ache in your chest. “Rei,” you mumbled, reaching for his hand. You felt his warmth over your cold digits as you realized the state you were in. You weren’t sure if the hit was a fatal one or how much blood you had lost, but you knew you were safe in his arms. You saw him lower his head as he grit his teeth. Unbeknownst to you, a tear trickled down his face. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
“Rei… never apologize. Please continue to take care of Miri, and support Kazu,” you uttered out with the little strength that you had.
“No, shut up, don’t say that!!” he raised his voice. You shook your head, everything felt numb.
“All I ask is that, you don’t forget about me and help Miri live a long happy life,” you smiled weakly. You slid your hand down to your wallet and tugged at the photo that Rei left you earlier that day. Your breath hitched as you struggled, Rei took notice. You let the photo fall from your fingers onto his as you saw the tears well up in his ducts. “
‘M sorry I left this behind too. I’m done with my father, so please… don’t leave me,” he confided in a whisper.
“Tell Miri that I’ll always love her like my own, Kazuki that his cooking is the best I’ve ever had…and promise me that you’ll keep on living too, protecting our family.”
Rei felt his heart shatter. You couldn’t die, you weren’t supposed to, and it was all because of him? Why didn’t Kyu and Kazuki take you to a hospital? He let out a exacerbated sigh and gripped your hand tightly, acknowledging how cold you really are. You now looked so pale, like all the life drained from your face and took away your smile.
”Stop it. Our family means that you’re in it with me… I need you with me. Lemme see your wound and change your bandages,” he mumbled, letting a tear slip from his hardened expression.
You felt his hands gently caress your shoulders and your back, lifting you to inspect your wound. You winced at the onset of pain as you moved any sort of way, feeling the pulsating burning sensation around your wound. His face was drained of colour as he unwrapped your bandages and saw the state of the hit.
“Kazuki, we need to go to the hospital… NOW,” he yelled out shakily to his partner. Maybe it is worse than you thought.
You tugged at Rei’s sleeve as you felt your vision fading again. “You’re here now… protecting me. It’s okay Rei, I’m just glad… you’re here.”
“Stay with me, please…” he begged. As gently as he could, he tried to maneuver you to wrap another layer of bandages on to stop the bleeding that continued to pool out. You felt the burning pain again but this time a hundred times worse. Clinging onto Rei for his warmth, you nestled yourself into his form.
“I love you Rei, it’s okay…” You mustered your strength to press your lips on his one more time before you fell limp again.
He stared at you blankly in his arms, holding you close to him for a split second until he realized that he needed to get you to a hospital immediately. You had lost a fair amount of blood and the pressure only did so much to stop the bleeding. Unbeknownst to anybody yet, the bullet had not gone through clear and it had hit your aorta next to your heart and lodged up in between the bones your scapula resulting in severe blood loss. You had accepted your fate after jumping in front of Miri, your protective instinct to protect the precious life of the one that you had raised for almost a year with the man that brought you the most joy you had ever been with.
Rei sat in the back of the car with you, not letting you leave his sight and keeping you in his embrace as you faded in and out of consciousness. Kyutaro was driving as fast as he could, leaving Kazuki back at their safe house to keep an eye out on Miri just in case she wakes up. Rei felt tense, stiff, and anxious that he was going to lose you. He noticed how your breathing became shallower throughout the car ride, and he held his breath knowing you were holding onto dear life.
He whispered to you, “You’ll be ok. You’ll make it…” but he knew that it was false hope. He intertwined his fingers with yours, feeling almost no warmth from the hands that once held his carefreely.
Everything felt cold to you now, the pain was long gone and you could only see streaks of light in your vision. All the sounds around you became high pitched and jumbled as you registered that you were being wheeled into an operating room, but that was the last thing that you would remember experiencing. That and Rei’s fleeting touch in your last moments, his figure hunched over your hospital bed as he pressed his lips against your forehead for the last time. The last sensation of his tears dripping onto your face as you fade out for the last time.
“I love you.”
“Please (Y/N), I love you,” he croaked out, his voice hoarse cursing at himself when he was alone.
It had been days since you had entered the hospital, and those days he sat by your bedside watching you. It had been days since he had last eaten anything too or gotten sufficient sleep. When you had been wheeled into the operating room, they had done their very best to supply you with blood and announced a triage to supply you with the best care as per Rei’s request. Ultimately, the bullet had struck a vital connection and performing surgery on that area had a high risk of failure, but it was either that or wait for the body to heal itself which was also a gamble that the odds were not in favor for.
He watched as you were hooked up to machines, breathing through technology, and all he could do was feel anger at himself for not standing up for his family earlier and the wrath of his father, causing him to lose the love of his life as a consequence of his actions. He grit his teeth as he heard a concerning sound, the high pitched flat lining indicator that you were now gone. All he could do was stare, stare at your lifeless form now laying beneath him. In his hand held the picture of the two of you together, a prized possession that could never be recreated now. He let the tears fall down as the hospital staff rushed in, aware that not even the highest dose of epinephrine or electric shock could bring your body back to how it used to be, or resurrect the smile that you held as you looked at him lovingly.
Being functional was an overestimate for Rei, but a lot can change in ten years, including the last promise that he made to you. He started off his day, doing simple hand curls and exercises to regain control back in his right arm that he blew out as a means of protecting his family from his wretched father. He was at a point where he could hold items and perform basic chores and even lift his arm above his head again.
He slicked his hair back in a ponytail as he used to, letting two loose strands dangle down in front of his face. He smiled to himself, remembering how it felt when you tied his hair back for him, the feeling of your delicate digits run through his scalp. How could he forget. He gazes longingly at the picture of the two of you at his bedside table every morning and night. Next to it was a family photo with you holding Miri, smiling next to him and Kazuki being silly on the other side of you. He had many more photos of you covered in his room, but those two were his favourites.
It still hurt, it hurts everyday knowing that his bloodline robbed him of his happiness, your happiness, and most importantly your life. The promise that he made  to you was enough to keep him going, and to propel him to become a capable individual that took care of his partner and daughter. He stepped out into the diner that he and Kazuki now owned, ready to make Miri her favourite breakfast as it was her first day of high school. Oh how the time flies by.
Your strength was what made him continue, to him, your memory will carry on.

I hope I don't bother you by asking, but, I was gonna say, would you ever write a fic on *how* Adam got so bad?
Now I don't mean Biblical stuff. I think that's an oversaturated section of the fandom. I mean like, Day 1 Heaven Adam with Sera, how does he become a huge pos down the line up to talking with Charlie?
If not, how do you figure he became so bad?
Love your stuff!
Hey Anon!
Please, you're not a bother at all! I love that you've asked me this!
I'm not sure if I would write a fic on it (never say never - it's just not something I've planned for or thought about!). It's an interesting concept for sure, though.
(also thank you for not referring to Biblical stuff, bless you 🙏🏻)
How do I think it happened? Honestly, boredom. I think the dude died, ascended to Heaven and got really fucking bored without a purpose. He would have been fine to start with, but once he discovered he didn't have a reason for existing there, he'd get antsy and probably start overindulging (in all areas of his afterlife), causing a bit of a stir with Sera and the rest of the Seraphim. When talks of the Exterminations being put into place start taking shape, Sera would nominate Adam to lead them so he had a purpose again.
And so, he creates the Exorcist army, gives the whole thing a red hot go. Initially the concept doesn't really grab him, so he's half-assing the whole thing. Until he realises, he's actually good at this. Then, he sits up and takes a little more of an interest. Creates ranks within the army, hires himself a lieutenant because he can't keep up. Creates plans, strategies, takes the time to develop weapons etc.
Eventually, he turns into a genocidal maniac, aka the canonical Adam that we see on the show. PS - thank you! <3 I really appreciate it!

genshin: diluc and kaeya (romantic) fic recs
other genshin fic recs here genshin fic recs by pairing here personal favorites are starred, by the way. everything is complete unless stated otherwise.
Across a Lifetime by Prettyflower34
~6k
Diluc remembers his life as Arundolyn. Kaeya doesn’t remember his life as Rostam.
When his father brings a boy about his age inside the manor to get warm, Diluc’s soul settles. I’ve been waiting for you. Welcome back, it says softly. A flicker of a memory crosses his mind. Two knights, a toast, a death. Diluc stares at the boy with the guarded gaze and thinks to himself: I’ll protect you this time.
kaeya and diluc are reincarnations of rostam and arundolyn, respectively.
Best Laid Plans by moolktea
~5k, series is ~30k
As predicted, the problem of Kaeya’s absence begins to concern Diluc at exactly midnight, when Amber bursts through the doors of the Angel’s Share with something of a barely concealed desperation.
“I’m not here for drinks–it’s Kaeya!”
When isn’t it, really. - Kaeya gets himself into a situation. Diluc, however grudgingly, drags him out.
first part of the series  For Those Who Favor Fire by moolktea
Snowdrops by Sumirei (~8k)
Kaeya stared in horror at the single white petal clinging delicately to his palm.
Life was good, he thought as a gripping dread seized him, but it appeared he didn’t have much of it left to live.
hanahaki au
The Language of Flowers by Jules (Penwyn) (~4k)
Kaeya Alberich has made a habit of lying—after all, the only truths he’s ever spoken cost him everything—but there are only so many lies a man can tell before the truth comes spilling out.
*Between Heaven and Earth by xiaokaeluc (xtxiao) (~2k; Warning: MCD)
Even if our tongues had been cut out, even if our eyes has been poisoned with blood, even if we had been deaf to all the world; still, we would have known that his soul and mine were the same.
Once upon a time; before there was Diluc and Kaeya, there was Arundolyn and Rostam.
!Reincarnation Kaeluc fic.
this is an absolute must-read
make me complete once again by dandelionpetals (~25k)
[“I need you to turn down that million-dollar client.”
Jean inhales sharply. “And why on earth would I do that?”
“Because. . .” Kaeya starts, pulling one of his usual charming smiles and hoping it will work at least to soften the blow, “I promised the CEO I would never show my face in front of him again.”]
in which Kaeya's past comes back to haunt him in the form of his childhood friend-turned-stranger hiring his firm to develop his company's website.
modern au, childhood friends to strangers to lovers.
of battle scars and love marks by dandelionpetals (~10k)
[“Tell them the truth,” Diluc cuts in, tightening the grip of his coat around him. He turns around and begins walking away, but, when he speaks next, it is still loud enough for Kaeya to hear it: “There’s no point in lying. It’s not going to change anything.”]
in which Diluc burns Kaeya during a fight, creates an uproar of mistaken rumors and learns what it feels like to be consumed with guilt.
this is pre-relationship and the burning seems accidental so i don’t think it counts as domestic violence, but beware regardless.
4 Times Cavalry Captain Kaeya Breaks The Darknight Hero Out of Jail, and 1 Time Diluc Breaks Kaeya Out of Jail by kcckt (~5k)
Diluc had always been one to go with the most straightforward method. Kaeya had always liked twists and turns in his. But sometimes, the road to reconciliation requires both.
Or, alternatively, how Diluc and Kaeya reconciled through a series of jail breaks because they can't use words like normal people.
*a thousand eyes on us by morphasia (~17k)
Diluc, heir to the Ragnvindr line in the kingdom of Mond, has never believed in the advances of the hundreds of suitors that dance in his castle's ballroom. Worn thin by the constant attentions of those after his status, he never expected to find himself being the one chasing desperately after the attentions of the Prince of a lost nation, even if it lands him in the worst position possible:
Fake courting said prince, who offered him a relief from the attentions of his suitors until he can bear them again.
*No Way Out by SkySpider for nan (~11k)
["...I don't understand you sometimes." The words slipped out before Kaeya had a chance to filter them. Diluc seemed to find them amusing, allowing a tired laugh to escape.
"And I never understood you at all," Diluc whispered — and that, Kaeya supposed, he had no right to deny.]
Diluc and Kaeya find themselves trapped in a domain after a cave-in, with only each other to rely on. This can't end well.
bad liar by kae_karo (~4k)
[“You’re hopeless,” Rosaria says as soon as Diluc is out of earshot - barely, and the words send a flash of panic through Kaeya’s veins. But Diluc doesn’t react, and Kaeya leans back in his seat just enough to cast her a quick glance.
“I’m not sure what you mean."]
Kaeya finds it far easier to avoid the truth - nobody can hurt him if he keeps his distance. But Diluc sees through his lies, no matter how much Kaeya wishes otherwise.
Not Really Strangers by aeternita (~14k)
It is a shock for Diluc to find out he's been married to Kaeya all these years, when they've hardly even talked. But it's just a mistake in the papers that he will easily fix with no consequences at all. Right?
if you’ve gone through my roswell nm fic recs, you know that these secret/mistaken marriage fics do something to my brain.

[Kaeya felt hands against his collar, and his vision cleared just enough for him to see the sparking intensity in Diluc’s eyes— the madness. He shifted, grabbing at Kaeya’s hair to examine his face better. A thumb glanced against his eyepatch, creating an ache that made Kaeya flinch. Diluc’s hands were fever-hot, his head tilted. “How do I know you?”]

[“Stay away.” Diluc said. “This is my duty.”
Traveler covered his eyes with his hand and let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders drooping. Kaeya couldn’t blame him. He wasn’t surprised, after so many years of knowing Diluc like the palm of his own hand, but he knew it was still frustrating for someone that didn’t know how stubborn he got when he was feeling under the weather.
“Sure, sure,” Kaeya said, drawing his sword and calling his vision. Water started to pool at his feet as soon as his ice came into contact with the flames dancing around them. “Listen, while Traveler might be too polite to dare disrespect your decisions on your birthday, I am not. Move aside, Diluc.”]

Do you ever think about how amazing Kung Fu Panda is, as a movie? It was apparently good enough that China had an identity crisis trying to figure out how they didn’t make this movie first.
It’s so good! What the fudge! It’s Jack Black as a panda!
Kung Fu Panda is a sendup to martial arts movie. It stars Po, the panda, as the son of a noodle chef and a massive fan of kung fu. He never dreamed that one day he could be a kung fu warrior though–all that changes when, through a crazy set of circumstances, he’s chosen by Oogway (the tortoise inventor of kung fu) to be the Dragon Warrior, destined to protect their valley from fallen warrior Tai Lung.
Of course, Po knows nothing about actually performing kung fu, and his teacher, Master Shifu, has very little patience for a fat nerd who doesn’t have a clue. The Furious Five, Master Shifu’s star students, are also not thrilled about not having been chosen either. But Shifu has to learn to work with what he’s given, and help Po be the best he can.
One of the things that amazes me about this movie is that Po’s character development is not about changing who he fundamentally is. He starts the movie as a fat panda, and he ends the movie as a fat panda, and that’s okay! Characters make fun of Po for being fat, but it’s not presented as a deficiency on his part. In fiction fatness is generally written, or implied, to be a kind of moral deficiency. Not so here! In fact being fat saves him in the end, because Tai Lung’s nerve strikes don’t work on his body.
Po develops by becoming his best self–not by giving up the things he cares about, or by making himself a different person. He just becomes more of who he is.
I think that’s a lovely lesson for a family film.
Kung Fu Panda is also filled with magnificent shots that look like paintings. It’s incredible, really–the makers of the movie wanted to make an animated picture that didn’t just feature Chinese martial arts and act as a sendup to those kinds of movies, but also wanted to respect the culture they came from. The result is a movie that’s not just fun, hilarious, and encouraging, but also just darn gorgeous to look at.
It’s not a perfect movie though. Whoever handled casting was dead set on hiring celebrity voice actors, and so most of the cast isn’t Asian, and it feels very weird that they sprung for getting big names for the Furious Five, when some of them barely have lines, or anything like a distinct character arc.
I’m also more than a little confused about the conclusion to the final fight of the movie. Kung Fu Panda 3 clears it up quite a lot, exactly how Po won, but this movie has Po just sort of… win, and then Tai Lung is not a problem. Uh.. okay? What did the movie’s makers want us to think about this scene?
Whatever, it’s still an amazing movie. I think when all of us saw that Dreamworks, famous for doing Shrek and Madagascar,  was doing a movie called “Kung Fu Panda” starring Jack Black, we assumed it would be a silly affair and move on with our lives. And to be fair, it IS a very silly movie. But it’s also a good one, and it helped solidify that Dreamworks was not to be underestimated.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to view Kung Fu Panda, but I enjoy it every time I see it now. If you haven’t already, you should watch it. If you have, do it again–you’ll have fun.

College Adventures Special Episode IX: Interview with Jorge Gutierrez and Sandra Equiha!
Thought I was done with the interviews, huh? This was the most starstruck I've been in a long, long, time! C'mon, these two created El Tigre and Book of Life, how could I not get excited??
Sorry if I get a bit personal, but there's so much I wanted to say about this talk!
First of all, Jorge is such an energetic and naturally funny speaker- whenever he tells a story, you can pretty much see it play out in his animation style!
When he was young, he told his family that he wanted to draw/write/direct, and they all laughed at him.
His stern architect dad told Jorge that he would only let him go to art school if Jorge got into the best one in the world, proving his determination about his dream (which explains a lot of Jorge's dad characters)
Jorge's told the story about the snooty CalArts interviewer (Telling him to be true to his Mexican art rather than copying American styles) in nearly every interview, so I won't go too in-depth on it here.
Sure enough, Jorge got accepted into CalArts! But at that time he was tempted to stay behind in Tijuana with his new girlfriend Sandra. She told him he'd be an idiot for staying and told him to got to CalArts while she studied graphic design.
Here's the part I relate to Jorge so hard on- he spent his college years surrounded by so many talented people that it caused self-esteem issues. But he also noticed that talented artists procrastinate a lot. So while his more talented friends were procrastinating, he did over 3x their workload to catch up to and exceed their level!
One of his shorts won an award at Cannes, and was his first big break!
He loves working too hard and challenging himself, trying out 3d and a job at Lucasfilm for a while to diversify. He preferred 2d and left for other ventures though. I really do hope he does more fully 2d stuff someday!
Contrary to what a lot of other successful people say, Jorge really prefers being a jack of all trades! I really admire how he also started out as a simultaneous writer/animator/voice actor, and he started out making his own animated short called "El Macho Vs the Mariachis of Doom", which blew up overnight into a viral hit!
Because of this, Sony noticed this and decided to give him a show! They asked him how much of a budget he wanted and he said 17k. Much later, Jorge found out he got scammed and the original budget was 150k before he opened his mouth.
Moral of the story: Never say how much you want to get paid- always ask how much they will pay you!
This Sony show did get canned in development, but even being hired by Sony gave him enough clout to get looked at by Disney, which gave him enough clout to get hired by Nickelodeon for El Tigre!
Since Jorge and Sandra were married by this point, Nickelodeon had them sign a "divorce clause" when they were both hired, saying they couldn't stop working together even if they split up!
As Nick's first flash animated show, El Tigre was apparently really hated by old Nick Execs. It did really well in every blue state, and got Jorge death threats from every red state.
When Jorge joined Dreamworks to make the Book of Life, Bee Movie failing caused the current execs to get swapped out for new racist execs who told him to whitewash the movie. They also told him to work with some random guy who'd never even wrote a musical or anything at the time- some Lin Manuel Miranda dude? Wonder what he's up to now.
Rightfully angry at the whitewashing, Jorge left to make Book of Life elsewhere, with very little of their former coworkers having faith in him and Sandra.
Jorge had to beg Guillermo Del Toro 16 times to help produce his movie. Turns out, Del Toro only ghosted the first 15 times because he was shy, and did really want to work with Jorge!
Thanks to Del Toro's clout as the director of Shape of Water, he was able to convince 20th Century Fox to make the Book of Life for Jorge! And yeah, Fox? Working with POC for a POC movie? Jorge didn't have the best time at the company. But he's still happy the movie got made!
But right as Jorge was about to start work on his Latino Sci-Fi show, Trump became president and a ton of Mexican series, including Jorge's, got cancelled.
So Jorge moved on to his next project, meeting up with his friends Lord & Miller to make the Billion Brick Race movie for Lego! I always wondered what happened to that film.
Well, what happened was, Danish Lego executives saw that Jorge wanted to make the film about the Latino experience and once again yelled at him to whitewash (or yellow-wash?) it. They told him how they didn't believe in critical race theory, so he left. (You know, as the company that cancelled Bionicle twice, it really doesn't surprise me that those people hate good things and are evil.)
And finally, Jorge got invited to a big Netflix party for his birthday. For his present, they told him they'd make any show he wanted them to make, so Jorge got wasted and told them he wanted a big Mayan fantasy adventure show. The next morning as he was recovering from his hangover, it was official! That's how Maya and the Three was born!
Now Jorge doesn't just have Maya- he also has Enchihuahua, an anthology short, an adult comedy series, another Maya-like show, and a lucha libre movie all coming soon!
Bonus:
Jorge loves wearing graphic tees about whatever he's working on!
Jorge likes drawing things with crazy complex Latino detailing, and Sandra likes cute minimalist designs. They love working together because they feel their contrast helps each other shine!
Honestly, I've never seen such a funny and loving couple in my life! If they don't make a show about their dynamic, I'll have to do it!
Sandra loves making poorly named art reference folders so much that she gets lost in them. Jorge is so hopelessly in love with her and her art, even the sketches she hates, it's adorable.
Jorge is mad that CalArts doesn't teach scriptwriting, and as someone who hates the armchair cartoon critics who wimp out and fail at writing their own animations, I'm mad on his behalf too!
Jorge joked that he wants to be converted into an animatronic when he dies.
Re: Jorge's adult animated series- he said he's inspired by anime and Primal when making it.
My favorite quote of the night from Jorge and Sandra: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together <3"

Power Apps vs. Power Automate: Key Differences
In the modern age organizations are constantly seeking for methods to streamline operations & increase efficiency. To achieve this they frequently use digital tools to automate operations & create specialized applications. Microsoft Power Platform provides two such instruments like Power Apps & Power Automate. Though both systems have the same purpose of streamlining workflows they perform completely different duties. Knowing how they vary helps when selecting the appropriate tool for your individual requirements.
Let us look at the fundamental distinctions between Power Apps & Power Automate by visualizing them as two employees in an occupied workplace each with their unique set of talents & duties.
Tumblr media
The Office Task Manager  Power Automate
Imagine an office assistant who is responsible for making sure things run smoothly in the background. Every day this assistant organizes documents responds to emails & handles workflows. They are consistent reliable & rarely need supervision because they follow predefined rules. You assign them tasks & they automatically get them done.
This office assistant represents Power Automate. Power Automate is Microsoft automation tool designed to help users create workflows to handle repetitive tasks. These workflows known as flows are triggered by specific events like receiving an email or submitting a form. Once triggered Power Automate carries out a sequence of actions following the same process each time.
Let us say you want to automatically save email attachments to a designated folder in your SharePoint system. Power Automate allows you to set up a flow that monitors your inbox & moves attachments to the correct folder. Once the flow is created it runs without needing further input from you. Essentially Power Automate works like an office worker who continuously performs background tasks allowing you to focus on higher priority projects.
The Custom Application Builder  Power Apps
Now imagine a different office worker who excels at building custom tools to meet specific needs. This person listens to your requests identifies problems & creates personalized solutions. If you ask them to design a form to track customer inquiries or develop a system to manage inventory they will build it just the way you want it.
This represents Power Apps. PowerApps is a low code platform that enables users to build custom applications to meet unique business needs. These applications can be anything from simple data entry forms to complex tools that integrate with other systems. The key advantage of Power Apps Course is that non developers can create these applications without needing advanced coding skills.
For example imagine your company needs an internal app for employees to log their daily hours & submit project updates. Instead of hiring a developer or waiting for IT support you can use PowerApps to create the app yourself. It can connect to data sources like SharePoint Excel or SQL databases & can easily be updated as your business evolves.
Core Differences Between Power Automate & Power Apps
While Power Automate & Power Apps both belong to the Power Platform they are built for different purposes & excel in separate areas:
Purpose
Power Automate is designed to automate workflows & routine tasks. It acts like the office assistant that handles processes behind the scenes keeping everything on track.
Power Apps is focused on creating custom applications. It is like the toolmaker who builds specific solutions to meet unique needs.
Functionality
Power Automate is all about workflows. It integrates with hundreds of apps & services like Outlook SharePoint & third party tools such as Salesforce. It automates notifications data transfers & various repetitive tasks.
Power Apps is focused on app development. It offers users an intuitive interface to build applications using drag & drop features & it connects seamlessly to the Microsoft data ecosystem.
User Skill Level
Power Automate is simple to use. You do not need to be highly technical to create workflows. You just need a clear understanding of the process you want to automate & Power Automate handles the rest.
Power Apps might require more planning. Although it is a low code platform building useful applications often needs some logic & understanding of data management.
Output
Power Automates work happens in the background. Its flows run automatically moving data or triggering processes without requiring user interaction.
Power Apps creates tangible products for users to interact with. These apps feature user interfaces forms & buttons for direct engagement.
How They Work Together
Even though Power Automate & Power Apps are different they complement each other well. For example you could build an app with Power Apps that employees use to request time off. Then Power Automate could be used to send the request through the approval process. The app provides the interface while the automation tool handles the workflow.
Which Tool Should You Use
Deciding between Power Apps & Power Automate depends on your specific goals:
If your goal is to minimize manual tasks & boost productivity Power Automate is ideal. Its designed to handle workflows & repetitive tasks without needing user input.
If you need a custom solution to address a unique business challenge Power Apps is your best choice. It allows you to create custom apps that match your exact requirements.
Together Power Automate & Power Apps provide a powerful toolkit for improving business efficiency. Like two specialized workers in an office they both have important roles in making sure your processes run smoothly.
By understanding their differences you can choose the right tool for the job. Whether you are building custom apps or automating tasks the Power Platform has you covered.

How to Open a Restaurant in Saudi Arabia: Everything You Need to Know
Tumblr media
Opening a restaurant in Saudi Arabia is an exciting opportunity, especially given the country's growing hospitality industry and vibrant food culture. However, like any business, establishing a restaurant in Saudi Arabia requires navigating several legal, cultural, and operational processes. Whether you're an entrepreneur or an established restaurateur, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to successfully open a restaurant in Saudi Arabia with the help of Capital International Group, your trusted business setup partner.
1. Market Research and Concept Development
Before diving into the legalities, it’s essential to have a clear concept for your restaurant. Saudi Arabia has a diverse culinary scene, and it's crucial to find a niche that will resonate with the local population and expatriates alike. Here are some steps to take:
Identify Your Target Audience: Consider whether you will focus on traditional Saudi cuisine, international flavors, fast food, or fine dining.
Location is Key: Cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam are prime spots for opening a restaurant. Choose a location that aligns with your target demographic.
Understand Local Preferences: Saudi Arabia is embracing new trends, but it's essential to respect local customs, particularly when it comes to Halal food requirements.
2. Legal Requirements for Opening a Restaurant
Saudi Arabia has clear regulations for opening any type of business, including restaurants. Below are the key legal steps to follow:
Business Structure and Licensing
Choose a Business Structure: Restaurants can be set up as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a sole proprietorship. An LLC is the most popular option for foreign investors as it offers limited liability protection.
Obtain Necessary Licenses: You’ll need a Commercial Registration (CR) from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment. This is a crucial step in officially registering your restaurant as a business entity in Saudi Arabia.
Municipal and Health Permits
Municipal Permit: Apply for a municipal permit from your local municipality. This permit ensures that your restaurant complies with zoning laws and urban regulations.
Health Permits: All food establishments must adhere to strict hygiene and health standards. You’ll need to apply for a health permit from the Ministry of Health and have your kitchen, food storage, and preparation areas inspected.
Saudization and Employee Hiring
Saudization: Like all businesses in Saudi Arabia, restaurants must adhere to the Saudization policy, which requires hiring a percentage of Saudi nationals. Capital International Group can help you navigate these requirements efficiently.
Work Visas for Expats: If you plan to hire foreign chefs or staff, you will need to apply for work visas through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
3. Funding and Financial Planning
Starting a restaurant requires substantial investment, including leasing a location, purchasing equipment, and marketing your business. Ensure you have a solid financial plan and budget for at least 6 to 12 months of operating costs. You may consider:
Bank Loans: Saudi banks offer business loans to support entrepreneurs.
Private Investors: Alternatively, look for local investors interested in funding restaurants.
4. Setting Up Your Restaurant
Once the legal processes are complete, it’s time to bring your vision to life. Here’s how:
Restaurant Design and Layout
Interior Design: Your restaurant’s ambiance plays a significant role in its success. Saudi customers value a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing dining experience.
Kitchen Setup: Invest in high-quality kitchen equipment and ensure the layout is efficient for food preparation and service.
Technology and Payment Systems
POS Systems: Invest in a reliable Point of Sale (POS) system to streamline operations and handle transactions.
Online Ordering and Delivery Services: Many Saudi customers prefer ordering food online. Set up an efficient delivery system to increase revenue.
5. Marketing and Launching Your Restaurant
Marketing is crucial for your restaurant’s success, especially in a competitive market like Saudi Arabia.
Create a Strong Online Presence
Website and Social Media: A user-friendly website and active social media presence are essential for reaching your audience. Showcase your menu, offer promotions, and engage with potential customers.
Local Listings: Ensure your restaurant is listed on Google My Business and local food delivery platforms like HungerStation and Jahez.
Partner with Influencers
Saudi Arabia’s social media influencers can significantly boost your restaurant’s visibility. Partnering with local food bloggers or influencers can generate buzz for your restaurant before the grand opening.
6. Cultural Considerations and Compliance
Saudi Arabia’s culture and traditions play a significant role in the hospitality industry. Here are a few essential points to keep in mind:
Respect for Islamic Values: Your restaurant must comply with Islamic guidelines, especially in terms of food preparation (Halal) and overall business operations.
Operating Hours: Restaurants in Saudi Arabia close during prayer times and operate according to local regulations, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
7. How Capital International Group Can Help
Opening a restaurant in Saudi Arabia requires strategic planning, legal knowledge, and market insight. Capital International Group specializes in business setup services, making the process seamless for entrepreneurs. Our team can assist you with:
