I like how his knife sharp and ruler straight hair both fits dgrp (ibuki mioda vibes) and adds to his punky vibes (especially the dramatic spikes at the back). Finally, the soft pink sunset lighting and hint of a dgrp school setting (with the school desk) sets the scene/mood rly well.

TLDR: Good work. Honestly im kinda curious about the rp at this point bc I want to know his story. This design says a lot but Im probs horribly off base. I want to know what it means. Is he even human? What is his ultimate? Is this the kind of Au where you try to translate his whole character arc or are you doing new, funky things with him? Its so intriguing to me.

I really thought that this was being a tad unrealistic, even when I first started thinking about it. But with toga refusing to be imprisoned and taking death in Ochakos arms as a sacrifice, I can’t help but wonder that if (when, lets be honest here this is another fake out lol) toga does survive in some miracle, probably through hawks, what IS an ending in which she isn’t imprisoned? Where is that?

UA BABY! Aoyama was imprisoned there when he was found out to be the spy, toga has REPEATEDLY been in the UA school uniform in tonsssss of official art! Which I talked about a certain specific official art here which was the biggest hint imo that it’s where toga would end up belonging. Will that make parents of UA students angry? The civilians? OTHER UA students, especially non heroics students? Absolutely it will. But that’s the thing, they’re going to be angry but change needs to happen. If toga was under INTENSE supervision and especially Ochako’s supervision then… I think it could work.

Toga and ochako are together, dekus looking away bc he no longer has that much importance to their story, and Aizawa is oddly close. Not yet aware of the situation or what may be in store for him in the future.

But he is their teacher, he is their guide. It’s his job to protect and, most importantly, accept them.

Maybe I’m asking for too much but. I really want toga to get her happy ending. One where she’s accepted and supported and around people her age! Having FUN with people her age! The LOV will always be part of her past, may even haunt her future career endeavors, and that fucking sucks. But I want 1-A as a unit to be a space for her. The members including the mods sexualize the female and male characters on the daily but when someone makes a post about the possibility of queer characters and ships in Demon Slayer suddenly it's 'too much'.

sampo is either an emanator of elation or aha themselves and ill be taking no criticism on that, will also talk about ahavilii

the most obvious hint to sampo being an emanator/aha are how his powers looks. the daggers he has, cut through the ground leaving faint void marks as if he was cutting through reality itself. void is a reoccuring theme in his animations in general, as it appears in his burst as well. sampo also appears to be able to teleport, as he did drag four people to the underworld at once, not to mention his constant reappearing back and forth. he also leaves no traces in the sand or the water.

another thing, is how he appears to end up on the luofu, following us same as Aha (their bells and giggled are heard in the Phantylia battle). Sampo had no need to follow us like that if he was just a regular masked fool, we benefitted his schemes and he should go on his marry way, especially since he really seems to care about Belobog, so be should stay and keep an eye on it. instead he flew/teleported all the way to us. but why would Aha be so interested in us anyway?

Aha cared about Akivilii (in their own way), they mourn them and seem to have an extensive history with the trailblaze path as well. Aha seems to care about us the most in the SU, so why wouldn’t they care about us so much in the real world? not to mention I also believe we’re Akivilii’s emanator (just an emanator, not a reincarnation as ive seen people say), which makes us even more connected to Aha.

and it shows.

Aha just doesn’t let serious harm come to us, as Sampo saves our asses for zero reason (do we really believe he would save us if we weren’t trailblazers?), flatters us as if we’ve known eachother for years even if he has nothing to gain WHILE we are being dicks to him. it mirrors Aha and Akivilii now that i think about it. Sampo fucks with us, we seem to despise him but at the end of the day we are drawn to eachother

also on that note;

schemes of elation seem to collerate with our trailblazing for some reason? which ties in with how Aha just doesn’t let us come to serious, mortal harm in any way. sparkle could easily kill us, like in real life, not just the dream (putting aside 2.3 knowledge), yet she helped us discover the deeper dreamscape. obviously because it was beneficiary to her, but after such a case happening twice it should start to raise some eyebrows.

also, Aha being with us during the Phantylia battle means they would propably step in if we were truly fucked, because i doubt they’d just watch us die, how would extinguishing one of the last sparks of Akivilii be entertaining?

also i think the next path we’re gonna get is either elation or hunt, since we arent getting eurudition or abundance (unless we want the luofu to shoot as down or smth). if not for the fact that 5* herta and march seem to be further in development than 5* sampo, i doubt we’re getting sampo lore soon :(( i bet theyre gonna try to finish ipc a little more before they divr into aeons

my recent fixation has been the wings of fire book series since ive been rereading it, which i feel is not very related to any of my other interests and so i havent posted much about it. but i literally have “post whatever i want” in my bio so i’m not going to let the whims of an audience stop me any longer

i realy like clay in the first book and if he retained the same level of depth throughout the series he would be in the top tier-- its just that his writing makes him so shallow in the rest of the books it makes me so sad :[ i was listening (audiobook) to hidden kingdom and like. 90% of his lines/actions were about food and the other 10% were about protecting the other dragonets..... i related so much to his anxiety in the first book and his empathy and his ability to see both sides of things... gah. sad.

jambu is also one of my glup shittos. i love his whimsical ass

foeslayer is a hard one for me because she never did anything wrong she's just..... not as present as i wish she was. she's treated as a very vital character with how many large plot points hinge on her, but she doesnt have much agency herself. its stated a lot that she's extremely important to darkstalker but in the legends book we dont see much of them interacting? idk. i like her but she always feels so uninvolved

the 'beat you to death (funny)' tier is just for characters who i like on some level but are also pathetic and worms. out of that tier i like deathbringer the best and mastermind the worst

tier after that are for characters who i have a positive opinion on but not really a strong one. anemone and sora are more complicated, but i do generally like them. i really just feel bad for them if anything. i think i like clearsight more than the other characters in this tier, but she's not in the 'wonderful :D' tier because i dont think she has a very strong personality

the 'conflicting feelings' tier is kind of a trainwreck because it means a lot of things

obviously riptide is the outlier since he hasnt done anything nearly to the degrees of coral, glacier, and albatross-- but i do have conflicting feelings on him. riptide is completely inoffensive, hasn't done anything wrong, i just dont like him because he has no real reason to be in the story. like you could write him out very easily. his only purpose is to be a love interest for tsunami which is like...... gh. dude. she doesnt need one. if she's gonna have a romance it should come naturally. not "wow this seawing is handsome and also he's the first one ive properly met as well as a guy do im in love with him now" like girl do better

coral and glacier both have done bad things and obviously have bad intentions but also.... theyre not the worst. bad but not the worst.

albatross is a victim of emotional abuse and even though that doesnt justify his actions it does explain how they could have been negated

next 3 tiers are self-explanatory. i forgot to put her on there but queen vigilance goes in 'the grime beneath my shoe'

actually no i wanna talk about scarlet and battlewinner: i think the thing that i like about them is their theatrics. they bot have such a huge presence, like a disney villain. whenever i read scarlet dialogue it almost feels poorly written with how over-the-top she is but. no other character talks like that. its just how scarlet is. and i think thats so good. whereas battlewinner's situation conceptually is just cool as hell. i love how she struggles to speak because of the ice in her throat, her rage, the way she's hinted at but her reveal is completely unexpected...... very very good

smolder/thorn is like if glorybringer was bad. mostly just because thorn can do way better than him. smolder and vermilion should kiss each other and bond over being wimp princes who havent actually done anything wrong themselves but bow to tyrant relatives to avoid getting killed

i dont know if this will be an unpopular take but clay and peril is such an awful ship. i like them as friends, i think theyre great as friends, but a romantic relationship between them would be so deeply unhealthy considering their situation. peril would be even more dependent and attached to him than she already is, and clay is not the kind of dragon who has an easy time saying 'no' to things. it would not be a malicious relationship in any way, but it would not be good for them. peril needs to learn how to live for herself, not for the approval of anyone else

Murderella: they could be sitting together talking shit about the rest of them, maybe with jean-pierre cooking them up a special dinner for two. bill's brought them out to one of the myriad of private balconies and tried to make it kinda romantic, she loves it.

Cal & Pickles: House is empty, they've got the Top Gun films set up in order (and then a myriad of Tarantino's and then Halloween films). He's got all he needs weed-wise, there's beer in the cooler, and the hot tub is ON. Nathan joins in when he's done writing music and Cal is the meat in their sandwich.

Olena and Skwisgaar: it's self care night!!! No gigs in the next few days, no rehearsals in the morning. Face masks, foot massages for each other, back massages, hair masks and then they share a bubble bath and a bottle of prosecco, washing out each other's hair, detangling, just taking hours and hours together in the bath.

Murderella: Cars - Zorya could not care less, but Bill could go on for hours about mostly historical ones. She'll pretend to listen. The one thing she cannot bring herself to concentrate on.

I cannot think of a single thing Bill doesn't like that Zorya partakes in. He's got it bad.

Cal & Pickles: Texas; turns out Pickles isn't really wild about the ranch life or Texas in general (it's hot, her brothers scare him). but will visit when she does to see her dad and to support her.

Cal tolerates weed out of everything else Pickles does; she loves coke and drinking, but for some reason weed is an actual ick. Not strong enough to deter her, obviously.

Olena & Skwisgaar: Both Olena and Skwisgaar base their lives around their music and being the best, so they don't really have other hobbies to hate. Skwisgaar puts up with going to the ballet with Olena, cause she likes it, and it makes him look classy compared to the guys.

77: What is something they would never forgive the other one for doing/saying?

Murderella: Again, Bill's got it down bad (and honestly so does Zorya). They say some pretty heinous stuff to each other at the start of their relationship during the blowouts, so kind of get the worst of it out the way. But Zorya could never forgive any sort of comparison to Olena specifically, or Bill ever stating he'd want to sleep with her or choose her over Zorya. And I think Bill is the same; he couldn't handle any sort of inference that Zorya would prefer to be with any of the guys, especially if she went into detail or showed that she thought about it.

Cal & Pickles: It's not that Pickles is possessive over Cal, but the thought of losing her when he's opened up to her hurts, so I think any hint of cheating on him (or even just pulling back!!) when he's given her Everything of himself would be too much. Which was a struggle for them at first as they tried to find the balance of casual and monogamous when Pickles was pretty much ready to jump in and Cal didn't really know what was going on. I think Cal takes herself super seriously as a person though, and I think if she ever heard Pickles mocking her like, REALLY badly to someone else then I think she'd be devastated.

Olena & Skwisgaar: Theyre both so chill and not even sure if they're in a relationship together that I don't think they'd hold anything against the other. However I know it would hurt Skwisgaar's feelings a lot if Olena talked badly of his stage presence, as he secretly holds her opinion in high regard.

I don't think Olena would ever find it unforgiveable so to speak (because she almost expects it at this point) but if Skwisgaar ever explicitly chose Zorya over her, she'd just be like... Deflated, unsurprised, hurt but just leaves the room with nothing else to say to him.

bc thus far, i have liked bsg!! i think its got good potential. i really do. you know, strong set up that i can really invest in if they continue on this trajectory, esp with some really good more insular episodes to work with wherein theyre dealing with like. various crises. like i did actually quite like the episode before this- with the prisoner ship- and the conversations thatbrought up, but also like..

part of me does feel like its lacking a bit. like the show. & maybe thats a 2022 perspective in combination with my own personal tastes. bc i guess i like my scifi... a LITTLE quirkier? LOL. WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT. or not even quirky per se, but... i feel like THUS far bsg is lacking a lot in terms of creativity.

like maybe its bc we havent seen that much with the cylons, yet, but im kind of... uninspired by them thus far as antagonists. the most interesting thing abt them are the models that look like ppl- and whilst i like gaius' hallucinations, and boomer is who im most invested in rn, idk? other than that they havent really done much; theyve kind of just been serviceable. like do you know what i mean? nothing is stand-out to me, yet, bc theyve really just been held at a distance thus far and i GUESS that could be the shows pacing, too, but still. nonetheless, it feels a bit lacklustre in terms of its own identity for sth thats 5 eps + a miniseries in- but maybe again thats a 2022 perspective, yknow?

and also, i AM a little nervous in general, i guess, of where they might go with the cylons... just in terms of, like, my faith in sci-fi shows in general, especially ones with a military emphasis, and when it comes to developing "enemy races". i feel like its a really hard needle to thread, and theres been one or two lines that sent a warning sign off in my head.

you know what i mean. i feel like... ugh, at BEST its as i said: it can be lacklustre, and bland, and they can just kind of serve as an "enemy" (which that too is a bit ehhh) functionally speaking. at worst we get all sorts of horrific, clumsy ass analogies for racism and oppression which i am genuinely quite worried for -_-

I cant overexagerrate the fact I read both these pieces of media with a teacher who said Hamlet was a bad ass schemer and Heathcliff was a romantic and morally gray but overall good person, and tried saying our class was trying to be edgy pointing out the obvious lines crossed, deteriating motives, and abuse or horror shown

And from my limited experience of hearing people a lot of people my age put up with similar problems. Where teachers need to or want to teach a lot of these books, but fundamentally (by time constraints, own bias, or afraid of getting in trouble with administration) heavily downplay a lot of stuff the students can pick up on to try and teach the most surface level idea.

You dont learn to read the text, you learn to identify the surface level themes and say what your teacher likes, because they get to decide the grade of your answer and a lot of teachers cant or dont want to explore those aspects of the writing or dont really trust highschoolers to form opinion they didnt think of

This is to say: theres a big problem in media literacy these days, but also the general way english is taught in high schools and how some teachers teach it means youre not actually expected to understand the text, youre supposed to pick up on surface level themes and symbolism.

This, combined with a culture that has a lot of pieces of media coopted by people who willingfully ignore the themes and purpose of media, primarily conservatives liking evil conservative characters and publically trying to claim these things, means a lot of young people arent really taught to know this is ridiculous. Theyre used to just looking at the surface and symbolism, not to explore gut instincts or potential hidden meanings, and they see that and the audience and make a knee jerk reaction

Theres not really an easy solution to this problem, but overall I think this is the root of a lot of these issues. Especially nowadays with stuff like how weve become aware of how some tropes and scenes are used negatively, or how "enjoying something ironically" can very much be a dog whistle

Theres a hyperawareness behind it, where theyre taught to constantly look out for dogwhistles, pipelines, people trying to slowly boil the water to other ideas, without having either the knowledge to properly identify actual dogwhistles ornpeople trying to boil the water nor the skills to properly analyse media past the surface level expected of them in their classes

To be completely frank, we're in an era of functionally illiterate pearl clutching fear mongering moral discourse on the right AND LEFT in literature that's significantly worse than the victorians. Some of you would die if you read a penny dreadful. Which are silly and tame in the historical spectrum of gothic literature. im a dif anon but imo, season 3 of the yj cartoon sucked absolute ass, and everyone and their mother knows it.
