translating gaza Reposted from @hani.aburezeq from February 4, 2024
"An audio recording of her with the Red Crescent spread before her martyrdom... The grandfather of the missing child, Hind, who has been with Red Crescent teams for days, and the uncle of the child Layan Hamada, who was martyred along with 6 family members, speaks about the painful incident."
Update: Hind has been confirmed dead. As were the two men who tried to rescue her. She was only 6 years old. They were only trying to save her.

"hamas is responsible for every palestinian death" really? its hamas that made idf soliders shoot at a civillian car and kill the evacuating family inside? the hamada family, the parents, five children and their niece, trying to evactuate on an order from the idf. they shot at their car, killing the parents and 4 of the children. the two survivors were layan hamada and her cousin hind hamada. layan called for help, but was shot by isreali forces as she did.
they were people. living, breathing people with names, dreams, loved ones. bashar and anam hamada, 44 and 43 respectively. they had 5 children- layan, sana, raghad, mohammed, and sarah. layan was 15. if youre in highschool, she couldve been one of your classmates. sarah, the youngest, was only 4. a 4 year old baby who's never going to get the chance to grow up. sana was 13, raghad was 12, mohammed was 11.
the only member of the car unconfirmed is now 6 year old hind hamada.
this is hind.
in this photo she is celebrating her kindergarten graduation.
when the ambulance dispatcher called back layans phone, hind answered and spoke to them. she begged over and over to be rescued - but to get an ambulance to her location, they had to ask the idf for permission. it took them 3 whole hours to get this permission. in this time she spoke to dispatch and her mother, who was sheltering in a different part of gaza at the time. over the phone, hind repeated to her mom how much she loved and missed her.
when the ambulance team moved in towards the car, there was the sound of heavy gunfire and dispatch lost contact with both the paramedics and hind.
this was on monday. theres been no sign of either since.
where is hind?
"isreal is the victim" - but palestinians have to ask permission for ambulances to go through. "isreal is the victim" - but ambulances go missing trying to rescue civilians. "isreal is the victim" - but tanks surrounded a little girl trapped in a car and shot at anyone trying to rescue her.
if this is what you think "self defense" is, youre a fucking monster.
remember that this is what were boycotting for, this is what were raising awareness and money for. so that little kids like hind will be free from suffering, free from the occupation and free from all the injustice the world lets happen to them.
fuck zionists. palestine and its people will be free.
(if i have gotten any details in this post wrong, please let me know and i will edit it asap)

the most moral army in the world kills two young kids (15 y.o. and 6 y.o.) after having already killed six members of their family
For nearly a whole day, 6-year-old Hind Rajab has been trapped in a car with six martyred members of her family. 6-year-old Hind and her 15-year old cousin Layan were the only survivors after the IOF opened fire on the car they were in yesterday. This chilling audio recording captures the moment that occupation forces opened fire on 15-year-old Layan Hamada as she asked for help from the Red…

This is my weekly reminder that someone in Gaza may be able to get water, food or medicines if you can spare 5€. In light of recent events, Palestinian families need all the support they can get.
Aya & Abdullah / @ayaabedblog, @aya24abood: Aya's home was bombed a year ago, on October 10th, with her, her husband, and their 2-year old son Yazan inside. They lost everything, including their cat, Katie, who died during the attack. Yazan suffers from skin and respirtaroy diseases. Their fundraiser has been vetted by association multiple times and is extremely low on funds. €428/€50,000.
Layan Ramy / @layanramy: Layan is 12. She is immunocompromised and prone to lung infections. She has to undergo periodical operations due to several skeletal problems, and needs to evacuate from Gaza with her mother to get treatment as soon as the border reopens. Extremely low on funds. Vetted by @/gazavetters (#108) and @/gaza-evacuation-funds (#7). €482/€17,000.
Mahmoud & Abeer / @mah99moud: Abeer gave birth last April, during the war. Mahmoud and Abeer are trying to raise funds to survive and provide basic needs for their newborn, Abdullah. Vetted by @/gazzavetters (#232). €712/€15,000.
Munhata & Hamada / @montahafamily: Family of 11 trying to evacuate from Gaza. Vetted by @/gazzavetters (#80), also vetted by association. Muntaha is 25 and wants to get reunited with her husband, who is abroad. €1,851/€60,000.
Hind En / @hind3en: Hind and her children have evacuated to Egypt, but are now trying to get reunited with her husband, which is still working as a doctor in Gaza. They need funds to start over, as their house has been completely destroyed. This campaign is vetted by association. $2,229/$40,000.
Yahya Alhabil / @mervatahmed1. Yahya is a 20-year old student, Mervat is his mother. Their tent was broken during a storm and they're sleeping on the street. Yahya's father suffers from chronic diseases. Vetted by @/gaza-evacuation-funds, shared by @/90-ghost, and also vetted by association. €6,599/€50,000.

Over 150 hours have passed, however, the fate of the 4-year-old Hind Hamada, as well as two @palestineredcrescent workers who were sent to rescue her, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al Madhoun, remains unknown. The 4 year-old Palestinian girl has been trapped inside a car with six dead bodies of her family. The car is in an empty street, filled with Isr*eli tanks and snipers, to the south of Gaza.

10 February 2024
Journalist Abed Alqadr Sabbah documents the remains of the Hamadeh family car in which 6 y/o Hind Rajab, her cousin Layan Hamadeh (15), and their family were trapped and then murdered. The vehicle is covered in bullet holes and is severely damaged from shelling. Abed also documents the wreckage of the PRCS ambulance operated by paramedics Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun. Instagram user faridaek provides a full English translation as follows,
This was an ambulance of the Palestinian Red Crescent, on an official mission coordinated through the Red Cross to reach the Hamada family who were targeted by occupation snipers in the area of Fares Station. After arriving at the agreed-upon area, as indicated by a map given to them by the occupation forces, they were suddenly hit by a missile, resulting in the martyrdom of two paramedics. They remained at the site, charred, for 12 days, along with the Hamada family. Today, they were evacuated from this specific location. This is a new crime to be added to the army's atrocities, fully documented through the unfolding events and through the audio recording of Hind speaking with the Red Crescent, detailing what happened to them. After the call ended, Hind was targeted, sniped, and martyred inside their vehicle. This crime is added to the list of crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.

New investigation into the murder of Hind Rajab — this time by Sky News.
Not much new information, aside from the reference to the deleted IDF press release:
The IDF says it was not in the area on the day of the incident, but its presence in the area was made public by itself, perhaps mistakenly. Twelve days after the attack, on the same day the car and ambulance was found, the IDF published a press release about its activities in Gaza. It said "over the last two weeks" it had "conducted raids on terror targets" with forces operating in Shati and Tel al Hawa neighbourhoods in Gaza. Tel al Hawa is the same neighbourhood Hind Rajab, the Hamada family, and the paramedics were killed in. The press release was later deleted from the IDF website. Further down in the press release, the IDF embedded videos showing its movements in the area. "We are in UNRWA's central headquarters in Gaza," a soldier said in one video. The videos show IDF units at a United Nations site which it says was used by Hamas. Sky News geolocated the IDF footage released on 10 February, which showed three forces - 401st Brigade, Shayetet 13 and 52nd Battalion operating less than 650m from the car that Hind was found in. While it is not clear exactly what date the footage in the release was filmed, the IDF's presence in the area is undeniable.
Despite ending on "what secrets lie beneath the rubble may never be known," Sky News leads the reader to the same conclusions three previous investigations by Al-Jazeera, WaPo and Forensic Architecture have come to earlier.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The sound of gunfire crackled over the phone as the teenage girl hid in the car and spoke. An Israeli tank was near the vehicle as she and her family were trying to heed Israel’s call to evacuate their home in Gaza.
Something had gone horribly wrong. Everyone in the vehicle was dead, the teen said. Everyone but her and her 5-year-old female cousin, Hind.
“They are shooting at us,” 15-year-old Layan told the Palestinian Red Crescent. “The tank is next to me.”
And then there was a burst of gunfire. She screamed and fell silent.
That began a desperate rescue attempt by medics with the Palestinian Red Crescent, one of many during the war in Gaza and one that ended Saturday with the discovery of their ambulance, blackened and destroyed.
The two medics were dead. The Palestinian Red Crescent accused Israeli forces of targeting the ambulance as it pulled up near the family’s vehicle. The organization said it had coordinated the journey with Israeli forces as in the past.
There was no immediate comment from Israel.
The body of 5-year-old Hind was found, too, along with her family. Twelve days had passed since the phone call.
The world only sees pinhole views of the fighting in Gaza. Few people are let into the besieged territory, communications have been cut multiple times, and only a few journalists are working there.
Movement around the tiny enclave carries deadly risk as Israel presses its ground and air offensive. Earlier this week, Israel’s prime minister announced plans for a ground invasion of the crammed southern city of Rafah and said well over a million people would need to move.
The Health Ministry in Gaza says about two-thirds of more than 28,000 people killed since the start of the war have been children and women. The ministry does not distinguish in its count between civilians and combatants.
Israel says it strikes Hamas targets and holds Hamas responsible for civilian casualties because the militants fight from civilian areas.
The Hamada family was among more than 80% of Gaza’s population evacuating their homes. On Jan, 29, near a gas station in Gaza City, in an area designated by Israel as a combat zone, the family encountered a tank.
It was not clear what happened next, but the 5-year-old’s great-uncle Bashar Hamada, his wife and three of their children were killed.
Layan was wounded. She managed to call her father’s brother, Omar, to say everyone but her and Hind were dead. She urged him to send an ambulance. He connected her with the Palestinian Red Crescent office in Ramallah, which hoped to instruct her how to save herself and anyone else alive.
It was too late.
The Palestinian Red Crescent dispatched an ambulance after Layan went silent. Hours later, it lost contact with the medics, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, as they arrived at the scene.
For days, the organization shared the story of Hind, her family and the missing medics on social media — even posting audio of the phone call with Layan — in a plea for help.
On Saturday, after Israeli troops withdrew from the area and civilians told the Palestinian Red Crescent about the bodies, it shared a photo of the ambulance, crumpled and burned.
Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson Raed al-Nims said Israel has killed 20 of its staffers and wounded about 30 others since the war began.

An Israeli tank or tanks likely fired the bullets that killed five-year-old Palestinian Hind Rajab and six relatives as they sat in a car in northern Gaza in January, according to an analysis released Friday that adds to evidence of the Israeli military's role in an indiscriminate killing which galvanized anti-war protests around the world earlier this year.
A tank had to have been positioned between 13 and 23 meters from the family car when it fired the shots that killed Layan Hamada, Hind Rajab's 15-year-old cousin, and it's "not plausible that the shooter could not have seen that the car was occupied by civilians, including children," wrote the authors of the analysis, which was completed by U.K. research agency Forensic Architecture, based at Goldsmiths, University of London, with Earshot, an NGO, and Al Jazeera journalists.
The investigators found 335 bullet holes on the body of the Kia Picanto the family was using.
An Israeli tank also likely killed the two Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) paramedics who came to the scene, the analysis found. The new analysis refutes Israel's contention that its forces were not responsible for the killings, which caused an international outcry.

according to this BBC article it seems like the ambulance reached hind before going missing. where are they???
"It was after dark when the ambulance crew - Yousef and Ahmad - notified operators that they were nearing the location, and were about to be checked for entry by Israeli forces.
It was the last operators heard from their colleagues - or from Hind. The line to both paramedics, and to the six-year-old girl they came to rescue, disconnected for good.
Hind's grandfather, Bahaa Hamada, told the BBC that the girl's connection with her mother lasted a few moments longer, and that the last thing Wissam heard was the sound of the car door being opened, and Hind telling her that she could see the ambulance in the distance."

Excerpts from the above linked report:
Around 2:30pm, the first call to Palestine Red Crescent Society dispatchers came from Layan Hamada [Hind's 15 years old cousin]. At that time, Layan was the only other survivor in the car besides Hind. The Red Crescent later published a 28-second clip from their recording of the call. An excerpt is translated below: Layan: They are shooting at us. The tank is next to me. Operator: Are you hiding? Layan: Yes, in the car. We’re next to the tank.
After a series of audible shots, Layan can be heard screaming until her voice stops abruptly, twenty seconds into the call. According to an analysis of the recording by Earshot, in the final moments that we hear Layan’s voice, a total of 64 gunshots can be heard, fired in just 6 seconds.
This report is a harrowing read but an important one. Please read it in full.
This is how many bullets they shot on a fucking kid.

Israel Is Killing Whole Families in Gaza—With Weapons Made in America
by James Bamford
With half the world between them, there seems little to connect the bucolic Iowa village of Middletown, nestled along the Mississippi River, with the macabre moonscape of bombed-out apartment buildings on top of rotting corpses in the densely populated Tel al-Hawa (“Hill of the Wind”) neighborhood in the southern part of Gaza City. But the two have long been intimately entwined, especially since the morning of January 29, 2024, though few have come to realize it.
That morning, after a night of bombings, the Israeli military was planning another deadly assault on Tel al-Hawa, and at 9:32 am it issued an order for the residents to evacuate immediately. Among those who heeded the order were Bashar Hamada and his family, who had evacuated to Tel al-Hawa from their home in another part of the city following an earlier attack. By then, according to the United Nations, 1.7 million people in Gaza—about 75 percent of its 2.2 million residents—had been internally displaced by the deadly assaults, with many displaced multiple times. On that cold and rainy Monday morning, Bashar, 44, and his wife Anam, 43, quickly packed into the family car their four children and their 6-year-old niece, Hind Rajab, who had dreams of becoming a dentist. Hind’s mother, Wissam Hamada, stayed behind and would follow later. “They were firing on anyone moving in the street,” she later told Al Jazeera.
