Anyway if you're up to it I'd love to hear about the pint sized pillars "kid modes" that they have. It's so cute :( I just want them to have happy childhoods

hi anon! im so sorry i took so long to respond to this ask— this ended up in my drafts with how often i was going back to edit it haha ;u; i had to brainstorm a bit!

in order of eldest to youngest—

gyomei

sweetest soft spoken sensitive teenager ever

he really doesn’t change all that much— he’s definitely less “leadery” and “old” though. he acts like any other kid

very gentle and humble. he gets easily flustered

amane gave him a kiss on the head and gyomei had to excuse himself

sanemi and tengen found him knelt down and trying to hold back tears. he was not expecting such affection since he’s used to always being the caretaker

one day he was deep in kid mode while everyone else was fine. and him being so naturally kind and loving caused several of them to drop down with him

tengen

he’s 10x more silly and playful

however it’s also obvious he has some self confidence issues

tengen doesn’t go kid mode a lot but when he does he gets really embarrassed and upset about being seen like that

he’s like those disney channel cartoons where the little kid thinks someone is really beautiful so he constantly gives them flowers and gifts. thats him with suma, makio, and hinatsuru

when tengen recovers from kid mode he is as red as a tomato while his wives fawn over him and reassure him its okay

kid mode tengen loves playing with the little ones, and rough-housing with sanemi and rengoku

giyuu

ohhhhh he’s a happy little thing. it freaks everyone out at first

very friendly and compassionate, though he mostly keeps to himself

kid mode giyuu is a little more talkative, but only after he comes out of his shell

usually it’s one of the older boys or shinobu who can get him to engage with everyone

if one of the other kids struggles he will awkwardly shuffle over and give them a hug

kid mode giyuu is fairly close with rengoku, kid mode or not

he also really likes being around sanemi and obanai, since they are his age

if all three of them , or if just sanemi and obanai , are in kid mode, they’re a trio of best friends

sanemi

he is so god damn helpful

sanemi is pretty sweet and smiley, and he always leaps at the opportunity to help one of the other kids

kid mode sanemi tends to constantly wander up to kagaya (or whoever is babysitting) and ask what he can do

but every time they just reassure him its ok, and he should go be a kid and play with the other ones

he’s disappointed but then he gets really excited when tengen and rengoku invite him to play and he’s the happiest little thing

kid mode sanemi likes hanging out with the big kids, especially tengen. tengen (and kid mode tengen) think its sweet, and make a point of including him whenever they can

he’s weirded out by genya being older and taller than him but genya makes up for it via piggy back rides

obanai

shy and jittery little thing. he doesn’t drop his guard until a bit into the transformation, even in kid mode

usually the telltale sign of obanai being in kid mode is how small he looks. he curls in on himself and his eyebrows furrow with anxiety

he’s also way more flustered around mitsuri. he has a big crush on her. kid mode mitsuri and mitsuri both find it adorable— though she doesn’t recognize the “crush” aspect. mitsuri just finds obanai very sweet and open

he is also really sensitive. you break a rule in a game? he’s upset. you take someone’s spot? he’s upset. you try to steal food from mitsuri? run

he always needs to be warm … if obanai is the only one in kid mode, you better believe everyone is offering him a warm hug or snuggles

obanai has a hard time choosing who to go to, so then half of them/all of them have a group hug

he whispers a lot. it can be hard to hear him sometimes

when he wants something, he frames it as “kaburamaru wants x” or “kaburamaru says y”

rengoku

think regular rengoku but now a literal child

honestly people cannot tell when he’s in kid mode or not. rengoku is sweet and chaotic no matter what

though kid mode rengoku tends to address everyone in a very polite manner. he calls gyomei “mr. himejima,” despite gyomei telling him he didn’t have to

he does get a little sad when people mention his dad. he will straight up start crying his heart out if he’s reminded of his mom in any way

kid mode rengoku tries to be a big brother to senjuro, and senjuro plays along, but then it cuts to rengoku being fast asleep and senjuro tucking him in, or senjuro having to help his brother get ready for bed

rengoku talks about senjuro whenever he can, kid mode especially. he has no filter at all

he would be a leash kid purely because he has a habit of forgetting small things and getting distracted and wandering off because he saw a cool butterfly and wanted to tell senjuro about it

mitsuri

similar to rengoku she doesn’t change all that much, but she’s even sweeter and more emotional than before

and like rengoku she’s more polite, though she doesn’t really have any problem asking for things or communicating her needs

kid mode mitsuri wanted to rough house too, but the older boys thought she would get hurt. she proceeded to lift sanemi up and hold him above her head

since then she has been invited to play with them every single session

she thinks obanai is super cute and is less filtered about it. same with muichiro, though mitsuri will just walk over and pinch his cheeks or scoop him up into a hug

when they play house, mitsuri is always the mama, and muichiro is always her baby

she and shinobu regularly team up to do the boy’s hair and makeup

shinobu

mischievous little beast

scary smart, but way more obvious about it

this four year old will casually list all the elements on the periodic table then pretend nothing happened , as to intimidate the others

everyone fears her

LOTS of batting her eyelashes and an extended “pleeeeaaaaassssseeee”

she has her rage and can be a grumpy kid. she’s usually well behaved, but if she didn’t get a nap, or if she’s hungry, that’s when she gets more bristly and sensitive

shinobu tends to be more open too. there’s multiple instances where she started getting really sad out of nowhere, and when pulled aside by gyomei, she would start crying about how much she misses her big sister

she and kanao are still extremely close. kanao loves having a little sister, and does her hair and plays dress up with her

she still pesters giyuu. though when giyuu is also in kid mode, the two can usually be found giggling and chatting, and giyuu will give her piggy back rides and what not

muichiro

literally a one year old baby

the sweetest and happiest little baby. he is usually seen smiling and his giggles will fill up the room

he loves being around the others. he especially loves “play time” because he’ll crawl around on the ground and go right up to people

mostly gyomei. he mostly approaches gyomei

but as happy as he is, he cries pretty easily. can’t find his stuffed bunny? cries. cant fall asleep? cries

everyone spoils the hell out of him. they love when he goes baby mode. he is the cutest little thing

lots of idle babbles and muichiro making one-worded sentences that mostly consist of him saying someone’s name or pointing out something

amane and kagaya are extremely paternal to the point baby mode muichiro refers to them as his mama and papa

it breaks everyone’s heart

the baby always wants someone’s attention. even if its as simple as being in their arms. he especially loves being with gyomei

there have been several instances where he noticed obanai wasn’t eating, and would try to feed him his baby food so “obi” could get a full belly

tengen and sanemi started laughing and it resulted in the two getting a face full of mushed up veggies and rice

Father To Be: Haishira Edition ft. Nakime

Did a similar one for the upper moons so here's the reactions of the Haishira holding their babies for the first time/reaction to the birth. I made it ambiguous so you can imagine it as x reader or not.

Muichiro is included as a what IF scenario if he had survived and went on to have a family like Tanjiro or Inosukes had. So aged up future Muichiro. All art was found on Pinterest and not mine. Credit to the original artists.

Warnings for mentioning of pregnancy/labor/birth/etc.

MUICHIRO:

-IF Muichiro had survived and then went on to eventually find someone to settle down with and have a family like Sanemi or Giyuu did, i think he would absolutely love the idea of being a dad and having a family again.

-Honestly when his wife goes into labor he'd be half terrified out of his mind and half calm. Definitely is going to hold his wife's hand and encourage her but silently. He's too terrified to not trust himself to not shriek out in fright so his encouragement is more in smiles, squeezing her hand back, and patting her on the shoulder/back/cheeks and whipping away any tears. Very attentive and silent during this chaotic tense moment.

-Eventually when all is said and done, and he's holding his children (I'm pretty sure he'd have twins considering twins run in his family), he's still silently smiling while embracing his two littles and happy crying from joy. If his wife is ok with it, he'd definitely want to name the twins after his father and brother. If one or both are girls then he instantly wants to name one after his mother and the other after his own wife.

TENGEN:

-He's not going to lie. He's actually quite scared upon learning that one of more of his wives was expecting. The demon war had just ended, and as much as he wanted to settle down and start a family, he didnt want to have any until he was thirty or so so they could have some peaceful years together.

-Unfortunately life had other plans for him and surprise, surprise. He's going to be a father in just under a year. Honestly he's super scared of what's happening but he doesn't want to cause the wife who's pregnant stress so he just hides it under his usual smiles but his wives can all see through his facade.

-When time comes to give birth, the INSTANT they go into labor he legitimately starts having a panic attack. Hyperventilating, panicking, tripping over himself- Remember how panicked he was when Gyutaro had a hold of Hinatsuru? He's that panicked but much worse and with more gasping for breath.

-He's scared and a million things are going through his mind. Is his wife gonna die?! Will the baby be ok?! Will both of them be hurt?! What does he do?! Whatsdoeshedowhatdoeshedo- He only stops because one wife yanks him to another room to gently calm him down, while the other goes and helps the one who's in labor.

-He's not allowed in the delivery room, not because he's incompetent but because he's genuinely panicking and crying the entire time into one wife's shoulder and no one wanted him to have a worse attack during the delivery. Time seems to slow down as he finally hears the first cries of his baby(ies) and he just freezes up. Staring long and hard at the floor.

-Its all a blur really. One moment he's in the hall trying not to pass out, the next he's sitting next to all of his wives and the doctor as one of them is moving his arm to help him hold a whimpering bundle of fabric. He's silent the entire time. Mind blank as he stares down at the chonkiest baby he's ever seen. Complete with his paper white hair and pomegranate eyes.

-After a long moment all he can do is start bawling himself. Not out of sorrow but relief and unexpected happiness in the moment. Give him an hour and he'll be going on about how flamboyant his baby is for now he just has to get all these emotions out.

KYOJURO:

-The MOMENT this man knows he's going to be a father he's hugging his wife absolutely ELATED that he'll be having a child of his own soon. He's running off to tell his best friend, he's jabbering on about it to all the other Haishiras, and he even kicks down the door at his father's estate to tell his father and brother the good news!!

-He's VERY attentive. In fact he's THE MOST attentive father out of all the Haishira dads. Getting his wife anything she crave, taking parental leave the entire nine months if he could, and plans ahead for anything including what his brother and father should do to help her if he's not present to help her.

-Luckily he's staying with her the moment her water breaks. All that planning and preparing months on end comes in handy because he knows exactly how to help her lay down, remaining calm and telling her to breath, and sending his brother to fetch the nearest doctor/midwife while he prepares towels and warm water for their arrival. Don't let his calmness fool you however. He's stuttering his words badly and his hands are shaking as he lets his wife hold onto him and tries to get her to remain calm.

-He's an absolute nervous wreck but he's doing his best to cause as less stress as possible during this time. Absolutely let's his wife destroy his hand and gives her assurances as he winces from how hard she squeezed him(he had no idea she had that much strength). Might offer assistance to the doctor but is more likely to remain at his wife's side.

-Faints partially when he finally hears his son crying. No amount of preparing could prepare him for finally hearing his child cry for the first time. His vision goes black for a little while before he wakes up after a minute finding himself slumped over on the floor but he quickly sits up looking around like a startled ostrich.

-He's very excited to finally get to hold his son right after making sure his wife is ok. Once he gets to hold his boy his entire heart melts away like the day he first laid eyes on his mother. "It's like I've fallen in love all over again." His own words. His son's the spitting image of him(those Rengoku genes hella strong) but he'll give all the credit of giving him the little chubby hand holding his finger to his beautiful wife.

SANEMI:

-Contrary to popular belief with how be have towards Genya and others, he actually WANTS to have a family. The only problem was that he's scared that there's a possibility that he'll turn out to be just like his own father no matter how much his wife assures him otherwise.

-So when his wife goes into labor he's a full blown mess. He freezes when she first starts. Full on blue screens as she clutches her stomach in pain. It takes her yelling at him and throwing a harmless pillow at his head to get him to a doctor NOW!!

-He absolutely scares the doctor looking crazy and kicking in his door leaving it broken in two. "MY WIFE'S HAVING A BABY!! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE AND HELP HER!!" He's so scary that he scares the doctor into submission with helping her even if he didn't mean too. He just looks really scary when he's freaking out and barking orders at someone is a habit that hasn't gone away.

-HE. IS. NOT. LEAVING. HER. SIDE. PERIOD! If the doctor even suggests that he might be more useful waiting outside he's given the scariest look of his life. "Say that to my face again! I don't think I heard you right the first time." He's scared if he's not right there next to her something bad will happen so even if she tells him to get out, he's staying RIGHT THERE holding her hand. Part outta fear, part out of stubbornness, and part because he's frozen to the spot.

-He doesn't really faint. In fact he doesn't really register anything that's going on the entire time he's there. Not her screaming in pain. Not the doctor running around him. Not how she's committed homicide on his hand. Everything's blurring together and his ears are ringing as he stares off into the great nothing. The only thing that cuts through the ringing is the shrill noise of a loud crying in the air. It makes his choke on his spit and he gasps for air he didn't know he was holding.

-Literally. He's coughing and gasping for air to the side trying to catch his brief as the cries continue turning to soft whimpers and whines right behind him. He's almost afraid to turn around but his excitement causes him to turn wide eyed, eyes hyper focused on a small pair of hands that he sees waving out of a bundle the doctor's handling.

-Once he's finally given the option to hold the baby he's super nervous. Almost refuses to hold them due to the fear, but eventually he's holds out his hands and the small moving bundle is placed in his hold. He freezes up again as he looks at the child in his arms .. before the rarest of genuine smiles graces his face and happy tears start to fall down his cheeks. He's in love with this baby and he vows nothing bad will ever happen to them.

GYOMEI:

-Having his kind of background and considering his important position as the strongest Haishira, having children isn't on the top of his list of priorities. He's not against the idea but he's not really planning for anything even with his wife. His mindset is 'if it happens it happens but it doesn't it doesn't'.

-So when it does happen he's rather calm. Actually he's THE calmest one out of all the haishira(meditation really helps and having raised multiple children in his teen years). He's really elated at the news, don't let his calm reaction fool you, he's half expected this to happen so he's not completely surprised.

-He doesn't have to prepare much unlike Kyojuro who goes crazily wild when planning. He was there for Kagaya when his children were born so he has an idea of what to expect, but he still asks Amane questions about what to expect with his wife.

-He's unfortunately not around a whole lot during this time so he makes arrangements for her to temporary move into the Butterfly estate so Aoi and Shinobu can care for her while he's not there. Even then he prays much more for the safety of his wife and child. When he arrives back sometime months later it's coincidentally the same time his wife is about to give birth.

-He's calm as he waits outside. He trusts Shinobu and the nurses skills to help her, and he'd rather not get in the way considering how large he is. So he opts to sit outside and pray for the well being of his wife and child as he hears the pained screams. He only stops because he hears the sounds of a baby crying nearly three hours later.

-he still opts to wait outside patiently until Shinobu or Aoi comes out to inform him that his wife was perfectly fine and he could hold his baby now.

-Constantly cries as she places the baby in his arms. They're so tiny that he can hold them with one hand. Gently counts all their toes and fingers choking on a sob as he feels a tiny hand grab a hold of one of his fingers. He's going to be crying much, MUCH harder than usual while holding them.

OBANAI:

-This man deadass faints when he first finds out his wife was pregnant. Honestly no one really expected that reaction out of him even his wife. If anything everyone expected Uzui would be the more likely one to faint. So even Kaburamaru seems taken aback. Give him a few hours to reboot. Eventually it'll sink in.

-He panicked more than anyone. Even Uzui who's terrified something will happen to his wives. He's gonna be a dad?! HIM?! It can't be possible! There's absolutely no way that he's gonna be a dad before someone else! Hell. GIYUU had a higher chance of becoming a dad than he did. But no. Here he was rubbing his wife's side back while she was expecting, and the reality was something he couldn't escape.

-He's NOT leaving her side for the entire duration of the pregnancy. He talks to Ubuyashiki about this and somehow got paternity leave unless he was REALLY needed. When he couldn't stay, he made absolutely sure that she was gonna stay at the butterfly mansion. Honestly he's stressing himself out more than needed. Was he the one pregnant or his wife?

-Once she is about to have the baby there's a loud THUD sound as everyone turns to find Obanai face down unconscious on the floor with Kaburamaru trying to wake him up by nudging his head. Rengoku tried to wake him but he was PASSED OUT so they resorted to move him to a bed at the butterfly mansion and prioritize getting Shinobu to help his wife.

-He wakes up a few hours later all wobbly feeling and lightheaded not knowing what happened until it all comes rushing back to him hearing the distant pained screams of his wife. He's not allowed back in the delivery room because Shinobu doesn't want him in her way. It partially works out because he just drops in a faint again once he hears the cries of his baby.

-Eventually he wakes up a second time to Shinobu internally laughing at his reaction and holding up the small bundle in her arms. By the looks of him you'd think he'd just gotta out of a long fight and hadn't slept in days. Shabby appearance, his hair is sticking up everywhere, half his bandages are loosely hanging on, bags under his eyes- Almost looks like he tried to fist fight a tornado.

-Before he has the chance to faint again, Shinobu's already shoving the bundle into his panicked arms and he freezes up upon looking at the chubby face framed by blankets they were swaddled in. He's not moving or saying anything for a good five minutes just staring at the baby to the point someone suggests that they take the baby from him- He finally reacts narrowing his eyes and slapping their hand away. "Touch them and you die!"

GIYUU:

-Ironically this would be the first ever time anyone other than Ubuyashiki would find out Giyuu had a baby on the way let alone a whole ass wife! Because his first instinct after she tells him she's expecting was to take her straight to Shinobu to confirm it.

-Everyone is shocked to find out he had a wife and even more shocked about him having a baby on the way confirmed by a pretty surprised Shinobu. He himself is also pretty shocked by the news. He slowly blinks as it settles in. He's going to be a father.

-Is surprisingly actually pretty calm about the entire thing, mostly because he's seen a lot of surprising things and being deathly calm is his default emotion by this point. Don't get him wrong. He's SUPER excited about the possibilities of settling down and having a family, he's just not going to panic like Obanai or get over excited like Rengoku.

-Follows his wife around like a lost puppy. If she needs anything then he's right there ready to provide it. Honestly it's pretty cute to watch him get so excited over something in his own way. He does panic eventually when it's time for the baby to be born.

-Like everyone else he allows his wife to destroy his hand wincing slightly from the sudden Hercules strength she possessed. Offering kind words but he's mostly silent as hell breaks loose around him until the sounds of the baby reached everyone's ears.

-He's calm and quiet as he waits for the baby to be handed to him. Mostly staring in wide eyed awe the entire time the baby is taken cared for and then held out for him. He's slow to take them but he just stares at them inspecting to make sure nothing was wrong before he finally allows him to start crying lost in the moment.

MITSURI:

-Finding a man who loved her enough to marry her was enough to make Mitsuri's life complete but finding out she's expecting was certainly something that had her shocked but she was VERY excited all the same.

-Honestly she hadn't even known she was expecting. Her appetite had always been big but she had started to crave certain items and weird combinations. Five tons of Sakura mochi with chili powder, six giant beef hotpots with fruit instead of veggies cooked in the broth, a pound of rice with teriyaki glazed apple slices- Her poor husband probably becomes a master chef after all these things.

-So she's SUPER excited to find out if it's a boy or girl or how many she's gonna have in the future(She had five kids with Obanai in cannon so she's definitely having more in the future).

-As much as she's excited she is NOT prepared for her to be munching on the food and her baby to suddenly decide to be born. Her reaction was to panic lightly but somehow her husband manages to get her to Shinobu. Luckily she's not panicking so much about the pain or fearing the possiblity of harming the baby, but boy she would NOT recommend this to literally anyone else.

-When the baby arrives at last and leaves her exhausted, she's crying harder than she had after defeating Hantengu while holding the little baby that looks so much like her. Her husband's crying too. Half because he's overjoyed seeing their child...and half because she accidentally broke his hand while squeezing in pain. Oops.

SHINOBU:

-She's blank minded. Shocked as her husband as they both stared at the seventh doctor/midwife that Shinobu dragged him to in desperation for a second opinion for someone to tell her she was wrong. She found out WAY before anyone else but was just hoping she was wrong but after the seventh or eighth doctor/midwife she has no choice but to accept that she's going to be a mother.

-Doesn't want to be a mother. Never planned to be. She had no time no ambition and no desire. So logically her idea was to keep doing Haishira duties and handling poisons while expecting. Her husband can't convince her to stop the results to asking Ubuyashiki to force her to go on maternity leave and to stop handling her poisons. She's salty and gives him the silent treatment for almost the rest of her pregnancy for that bit.

-Eventually she does get attached to the idea of having a prodigy to take over her work if she fails to avenge her sister. However she's pretty prepared being a doctor herself insisting on handling it herself...Yeah that's not happening. When she goes into labor her husband drags her kicking and fighting to the nearest other doctor or midwife to have the baby.

-She's extremely salty and annoyed during the entire time she's in labor and even after exhausted and looking at the chubby baby in her arms. Probably says something along the lines of- "You better be worth all the pain you put me through." Very salty when they giggle at her.

BONUS:

NAKIME:

-including Nakime because I forgot to add her with the other demons. Honestly she's just as shocked as everyone else is when she discovers that she's going to be a mother.

-She's not scared or anxious or anything. Just very very shocked as usually demons were unable to have children. But she takes this new development in stride and doesn't let it affect her much. Honestly the pregnancy as a whole doesn't affect her much in emotional or physical ways. She still craves certain thing such as a liver specific all salted on one side or a thirty year old woman's arms, and her husband or Muzan if he's feeling generous will always provide it for her.

-The labor and birth itself doesn't affect her very much either. Demons have high pain tolerance and great regeneration abilities so the entire thing doesn't last for more than one of two hours at most. When all is said and done, she acts like nothing happened and simply goes back to her duties right away. Only this time she'll be either holding a babbling baby in her lap or have them strapped to her chest.

I can't be bothered editing this post and this post over and over so I'll list extra things I've thought of for/ added to my AU.

• The ships in this AU consist of:

Inosuke x Tanjiro, Muichiro x Nezuko, Tenshi x Giyu (obviously), Obanai x Shinobu x Mitsuri, Tengen x Suma x Makio x Hinatsuru, Kagaya x Amane, Masachika x Kanae

• Shinobu is swapped with Tenshi in the rooftop scene. Tanjiro picks up a scent of guilt, gloom and slight anxiety from Tenshi and asks her about it, to which she sighs and opens up about the torture of having to listen to her family get eaten, and also having to kill her demonified sisters; one of which had been a Lower Rank Twelve Kizuki. Tenshi tells Tanjiro to protect Nezuko until the end so the same thing she went through doesn't happen to them. The scene where Tanjiro picks up on Shinobu's angry scent happens when he's sitting outside practicing Total Concentration Breathing: Constant, and Shinobu approaches him. This happens on a separate day.

• Muichiro survives the battle with Kokushibo since he only got one his arms cut off and got saved by Genya who managed to distract Kokushibo from stabbing him. However Genya still dies and Muichiro is on the sidelines for the battle with Muzan. After Muzan is defeated, Muichiro and Nezuko grow closer until they eventually marry and start a family that yield their descendants in the modern era.

• The only people that can make Tenshi smile other than Giyu are Kanae, Kyojuro, Tanjiro and Nezuko. When Kanae and Kyojuro died, Giyu remained the only one to make her smile even with Tanjiro and Nezuko around. Tenshi only smiles more after Muzan was defeated and demons were eradicated.

• When Tenshi returned from a mission where she killed Momoka, a Lower Rank Two Twelve Kizuki whose blood demon art made her severely ill, she had to carried to the Butterfly Mansion by Giyu after she was coughing up blood. Tenshi thought to herself she'd be fine for a little while beforehand.

• At the time of her family's death Tenshi was 12, Tsubaki was 15, Yuriko was 11, Shinra and Shikako were 9, Ichika was 7 and Yukina and Kaito were 2.

• Tenshi is present during the Swordsmith Village Arc and manages to battle Gyokko again with the help of Muichiro.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on August 1 in Japan and August 5 in the west, publishers Aniplex and SEGA, and developer CyberConnect2 announced. Pre-orders for the Digital Deluxe Edition include five days of early access to the game. Digital pre-orders will open on March 3 across all platforms except Switch, which will follow at a later date.

~About My Main Oc's(The Main 4)~

Nicki Ohnosaki (DS): Is the Shadow Hashira(Ranked as 4th strongest)who took former Flower Hashira, Natsuki Ohnosaki's rank in the core (Etc:Joined the Core at: 16 Former Age:21). She was raised in a house of 2 younger siblings and 1 older sibling, each one with their fair share of abuse by their father, Natsuki being the oldest was the only sibling who could stand up for all her siblings (Natsuki was 9, Nikki was 7, Inosaki was 4, and Kai was 2). On the night of August 18th their family was slaughtered with the only survivers being, their father, name is Timoko Ohnosaki (who got turned into a demon by the lower moon who slaughtered their family), Natsuki Ohnosaki(The oldest sibling of 3, after the slaughter became a slayer at 15 and at 18 because a Hashira to revenge the death of Kai Ohnosaki and her mother Momisuke Ohnosaki), Nikki Ohnosaki (The 2nd oldest of 3 after the slaughter she was taken under Natsuki care becoming a slayer and Natsukis Tsugoku at the age of 16, After Natsuki's death she takes her place ranking one rank higher {at 4th} Getting the title 'Hashira' for her speed, senses, and fighting tactics), and last Inosaki Ohnosaki (The 2nd youngest of 3, after the slaughter he was taken care of by Taro{Natsuki's Bf, Light Hashira}and Nikki after training sessions with Natsuki, after Natsukis/Taros murder, Inosaki makes the decision of becoming a medic to help slayers and the injured in general while Nikki was out on missions doing her role as a hashira. Present he works in the Butterfly Mansion with Ms. Aoi, Shinobu, and the Caterpillar sisters)

(Natsuki's Death & Nikki's Revenge With a Fatal Price.

-Natsuki's mission was against a lower moon, lower moon 2 {her own abusive father} the master had sent her with light hashira, Taro Rimko both were sent on the night of March 23rd and never were seen after that day. The mission was normal until they had found the twisted game of the demon, bodies hung by trees some didn't even have most of their limbs, Both Hashiras were left in pure disgust Taro learned to pray from his father and Gyomei and decided to do so as Natsuki yelled out for the demon to reveal themselves. The demon listened to the command as Natsuki's eyes widened, Taros blind eyes focused on the demon from hearing... It was Timoko Ohnosaki but a uglier and more blood thirsty father, it didn't take long for the rage and flame to strike, the battle lasted until the brink of dawn, Timoko had to finished the two quick.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠⚠}

Taro was the first to be demolished, his eyes were targeted first one being poked out and held in the hand of lower moon 2 and lastly when Taro was distracted with his bleeding eye, he was K. Oed with his head being ripped ripped off right in front of Natsuki making her boil with rage since he'd token another loved one, her blood boiled as she decided to attack out of anger, that didn't end well.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠}

The lower moon gripped her head ripping it back before stabbing his fingers into her throat, slashing it aggressively. The sun finally rose, Timoko had fled, leaving Natsuki's body next to her lovers as they both rotted in their own piles of blood.

She had survived to see her brother.

Peace finally came over the remaining survivors of the corps, and peace to all the lives who fight and died in battle. The wind blew as silence was between the two Ohnosaki siblings as they sat in front of Natsuki's, Kai's, and Momisuke's graves as they gave gifts such as food, flowers and last but not least their tears. Miyake Suzui (OP):Worlds most known/Wanted engineer, getting the titles for bombing Marines (basically committing genocide 😭) and helping pirates then backstabbing them by stealing their valuables, getting her first bounty at 10 at the high price of 150,000. Years go by ever since her sister had left her, and her other sister had died she found herself in a floating restaurant called 'Baratie' dressing herself up as a guy to avoid Sanji's simping but it all changed when a group of pirates rulled by Dawn Kreig had started a ruckes with another group of pirates a very small but strong group called the 'Strawhats' she finally revealed her identity fight by the side of Luffy until Kreig was defeated, after this Luffy had offered to be on sea but like Sanji she declined acting as cold as she did when she served them beside Sanji. After s bit of convincing she joined their crew as the loyal engineer besides the simping cook Sanji. Her next bounty raise wasn't until after the 2 year span, raising from 150,000 to 240,000,000. (this was made lazily bc I made this at fucking 12am)

(Family Lore & Years spent engineering)

-Gardening was fun as a family time, each caring for a certain part of the garden, Mother and Father focused on the grass, trees, and bushes, Moko and Michii worked on picking and growing fruits, and lastly Miyake would plant flowers. It was all friendly until a ambush by Marines sent by one of the admirals they wrecked the garden the wrecked parts of the house, their parents forced them three to hide and Moko shoved her and her sisters into a bunker, Michii was angered and Miyake? She cried and cried for her parents (I'd like to add their parents we're wanted pirates!her father with a bounty of 23,000,000 and their mother with the bounty of 15,000,000)but Michii covered her mouth as shots were shot, bodies had fallen. After the ambush the three had gotten out of the bunker, seeing blood stains but no bodies. Days pass Moko and Michii had moved on trying to fix their garden and the destroyed parts of the house. 2-3 months pass and the Suzuis met the same fate of a ambush after the Marines found out about the children, Moko had to step up risking her life.. (The trauma man😭) the other two cried as they hid themselves in the bunker without someone older to protect them anymore, soon enough the same sound of a gun firing arose.. {TRIGGER WARNING⚠⚠}

Moko was shot in the heart ending her young life quickly, the Marines yelled for the other children to come out or they'd destroy the house but they didn't leave both were scared both were horrified, the marine army marched in wrecking and throwing objects as dusk neared they finally left. Immediately at dawn the two sisters made graves for the family they lost placing flowers and their own personal items, Michii placing fruits on her parents graves {oranges and strawberries since it was their favorites) and a hairbrush on Moko grave on the other hand Miyake placed her plush of a cat on her mother's grave, a carton of strawberry milk on her fathers grave, and her kimono on Mokos grave.

-Story 2: years pass since the death of their family, Miyake started to study astrology {Moko loved astrology and the sea} as Michii barely came home to see her own sister. One day Michii called Miyake to tell her news, she was leaving on a 'trip for food' but that made Miyake even more devastated than she already was and before her sister left she mutter out the words 'PROMISE YOU'LL COME BACK FOR ME!!'. After the day her sister left she started to learn how to be an engineer, building new things she never thought she could succeed everytime she knew he family would be proud but at the same time she missed Michii. 2 years pass Michii never came back {She betrayed her own family by joining the Marines, the ones who killed her family, but once the two meet when Miyake is 23 she makes up a reason that she only did it to steal and destroy all their plans} after her 10th birthday Miyake was more mature finally fed up with being alone people were shocked she was still alive she was only a love because of her circus loving friend Paco who'd bring her food and drinks while she worked, one person was so shocked they called marine forces to arrest her. The Marines had got there but no trace of her was seen until... All the ships had blown up, the screams of the Marines who stayed behind filled the people's ears, as she left one of the ships with supplies and weaponry that's how she got her first bounty of 150,000.

Kuro Tsuko(DDD): She is a 16 year old girl who transferred to the same school as the alien geeks, not believing that aliens and ghosts exist until she encountered Acrobatic Silky (episode 5 or 6). She didn't know she was possessed by a ghost herself, the ghost of her samurai father (her father was a samurai who slayed Yokais until the day he died from a demon using his own blade to stab him) Out of the group she has the best strategies, best battle plans, and attack tactics. She is the only one who has no siblings and a living mother so she has no lore. Her personality is sassy, funny, and loyal.

Bingo(OM! OM NB!): The knight who guards the Lord's castle, who loves rocks and Simeon- ignore that. Like the brother she too is a fallen angel due to her lovers lie {will explain in 'Cupid's Lore'} Her personality is like a literal bitch, cussing everyone out, even going as far to throw rocks she collected or bite demons for their disrespect towards Diavolo {She hears all} and really caring and loyal.

-Bingo was the most popular cupid, always on track with building relationships and making them last with her never missing arrows, her herself was beloved by all for her beauty and soft heart {Personality is completely different from her personality in hell}. One day she was confronted by a Royal Knight of the celestial realm, he confessed his love and she accepted it. Everything was sweet from the start but truly this man was hell itself, as years passed he turned more controlling and grew distant but it wasn't enough to break her heart yet...Her lover came back from his duties seemingly annoyed and then yelling at her accusing her of cheating!? She denied it {obviously she didn't, like she's cupid just like she sore loyalty to her job she sore loyalty to her relationship} but that wasn't enough to make him believe, she truly was on the brink of being a weeping angel.

-Story 2: After the rumors had spread of her cheating it finally reached the god. When she was brought to his mercy to explain her sin she denied and finally broke before she was banished she let out her anger on the god and her lying lover.. She was finally banished and fell from the light clouds swearing she'd never forget the betrayal she felt during those final weeks and the friendship she made during all the years.

Warm breath sending goosebumps along the soft flesh giving way to a shiver as he smiled wider against the flesh. Again. Again. His lips were pressed against the hand until eyes opened and found himself sighing in content. Goosebumps spread under his touch as a hand gently placed itself under her chin, claws gently dragging along the skin as he directed her head too him. A shiver from her body, warmth caressing her face as orbs shrouded by deepened desire and half lidded by a want.

Warmth spread across her face and a moment later lips melted into a kiss. He made no comment back. Embracing the woman against his chest tightly and deepening the kiss, his embrace increasing slightly. Smaller hands found themselves gripping the front of his haori. Everything blurring and unimportant, the only thing that mattered was this woman in his grip. Her everything. His everything.

Suma's. Hinatsuru's. Makio's. Kyojuro's. All thiers. Her sweet lips. Her beautiful smile. Her shining eyes. Her soft touch- A shiver ran through her under his hands when one hand found the side of her cheek, a rumble from his chest showed amusement much to her embarrassment. He had her right where she was supposed to be, in his arms and his own-

Until a distant woman's scream sounded out.

"UZUI!!"

You turned away from the warmth slightly to peer up startled at the surroundings although that didn't deter the merman who continued trailing kisses from the corner of your lips to the bottom of your left cheek, white hair tickling the left side of your face. The form of a highly concerned pink eyed woman rushing towards you both.

"K-Kanae-"

"Eh. Ignore her." A hand gently tugged your face back towards him and once again your lips met-

Until another scream pierced the air making you turn away from him again as he trailed after you but stopped when you placed a hand over his mouth. "S-S-STOP!!"

He blinked as you pushed his head away from his own flushed worse than a school girl getting kissed by her crush for the very first time. ..Until his free hand reached out to gently touch yours and kissed the inside of your palm gently. Making you jump.

"TENGEN, PUT HER DOWN!!", Kanae shouted almost panicked as she rushed over towards you both. Picking up the hem of her dress and kicking up sand as she skidded to a stop in front of you both. "BAD MERMAID!! PUT HER DOWN!!"

You squeaked out loudly when you were suddenly grabbed by Kanae and yanked free from Tengen's grasp and you stumbled onto your feet, nearly falling over on your stomach if Kanae hadn't pulled you back upright. Her face twisted to an angry scowl to Tengen before snapping a concerned look at you.

"Y/n, are you alright?," she asked as you clutched at your chest.

Your heart was hammering like a herd of wild horses stampeding, and your face burnt like a fire was lit under your skin. And you were pretty sure you were shaking because your legs felt like jelly you canned. "....I t-think m-m-my life flashed before my eyes."

"Ah! I'd expect nothing but that kinda reaction from my flamboyant kisses." Kanae shot the merman another scowl as he winked. "I'm a very well experienced lover- HEY!!" He sputtered and leaned back down on his belly to avoid the wave of sand cascading over his head from a woman's foot. "What gives?!"

"SHOO!! ALL OF YOU GET!!" Kanae shooed her arms at Tengen giving him another kick of sand when he didn't get moving. "Go on! You scared her half to death chasing her down the beach like that! Shoo!"

He gave a small cat like hiss when the sand hit his scales. "Hey! Lay off! She initiated courtship first- AH! ALRIGHT WOMAN!! You sure enjoy taking the fun outta love y'know that?"

Tengen gave another puppy dog kicked look at you..but turned and started dragging himself back across the sand and towards the water. She held her annoyed frown watching him until he slipped into the water his tail giving a few snacks to the surface before her gaze then turned towards the left and narrowed at the other mers around her.

"That goes for the rest of you too! I won't have anymore trouble from you today." More shooing motions from her hands were made towards. "Go on. Shoo, shoo, shoo! Back to the ocean with you."

You shakily looked up from where you stood, and froze as at least three other mers besides Tengen were staring at you all. THERE WAS MORE OF THEM!? You jumped as the long snake creature hisses lowly but turned and disappeared slithering behind the large rocks he laid on. The second one who had white hair and large pointed ears gave her a look of pure hurt, as if he actually was physically hurt by her words.

"But..Kanae, I-"

"Sanemi, just-..!" Her head turned away from him and her eyes closed refusing to look at him. "Just go home! Go away and leave me alone already! Y-You've done enough!"

There was a silence as the mer in the Water's eyes widened and.. became slightly watery. Before he let out a growl and with a loud THUNK disappeared back under the blue surface. You could vaguely make out his greyish form quickly swimming away towards the south before he vanished completely. Another splash made you look further away and saw Shinobu waving a hand at the water as ripples temporarily distorted the rolling waves. There was nothing but silence for a moment until something suddenly appeared in front of you making you jump as Kanae's frowning face appeared before you annoyed.

"Where were you this morning?", she demanded in a tone harsher than her soft face executed,arms crossed. "You worried Koyuki sick with pulling a stunt like that! It's very dangerous here if you aren't careful!" She gazed over your nightgown as you still clutched it. "And you're all soaked! Did Tengen do this?"

"N-No!" You quickly held up your hands in the merman's defense. "I fell in myself. I-It's a long story. A-Actually he's the one who helped me get back up. "

"Well don't you run off again! You're in enough trouble as it is-" She stopped noticing a familiar white haired jewel covered head bobbing in the water suddenly being joined by a head of firey hair and three ladies.. She grabbed you hand with a jump and pulled you quickly towards the large house. "Inside quickly."

"Y/N'S BETTER!! LOOK!! Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!," You heard Suma's unmistakable voice calling behind you but surprisingly Kanae was quite strong for a petite girl.

You were quickly pulled across the beach, up the few steps, and straight through the open door by Kanae as her sister calmly followed behind you both much slower. You were stopped only when you were pulled into the room Koyuki was still in, only this time Mitsuri and Kanao was there too. By their position you guessed they were watching the skirmish outside from the window.

"This is serious." Kanae let go of your hand matching back into the hallway muttering to herself as Shinobu finally walked in with her slow pace. Watching calmly as her sister walked by and stuck her head out the door to make sure no one was there before sliding the door back shut licking it in the process. "At this rate none of us will be able to go home, and all of our hard work will be jeopardized."

Her footfalls came back up towards the hallway and once again reappeared. Everyone watched as she stepped to the window and locked it as well before drawing the curtains dosing most of the light just as Shinobu walked in too.

"Kanae, calm yourself."

"I am calm. I'm also just really worried!", she frowned at Shinobu who hummed before looking towards you.

Her eyes looked you up and down raising a brow at how soaked and covered in sand you were. "Let me guess. She tried running off the island."

You blinked. "How'd you know?"

"We did that the first day we were brought here." Another hum. "..I think we should explain it to her. It's obvious she's involved like us so it'd save everyone else the headaches."

Kanae slowly sighed and nodded in agreement. "You're right but first let us get her cleaned up and into some warm clothes."

Twenty minutes later you were happily seated in a circle on the floor, in a normal dress, and had your hair wrapped up in a towel as everyone else sat still. Mitsuri was nice enough to make everyone some tea and handed you a cup after Shinobu looked over your wounds again to make sure you were still alright.

"Thank you." She smiled at you brightly as you took the cup of green tea from her. "I didn't know that tea leaves grew on the island."

"They don't. We just found a few sealed tins of it in the back," Mitsuri clarified.

"Well we should be getting back on topic." Kanae gave a glance from where she stood out into the hallway. It must've been noon by now. She closed the door and locked it too, nevermind the front door was also locked and turned back towards you all. "Alright. Straight to business then." Her look could cut diamonds as she looked at you. "How'd you come to be here?"

You blinked. "Didn't they already tell you? I was attacked by a crazy stalker and they apparently brought me here. I don't even know exactly where here is from the coast still."

"How'd you meet those mers out there?," she pressed harder.

You frowned now. Didn't they tell them that too? Maybe they just told Tengen? "I found them by accident in someone's barn except for Kyojuro. I found him washed up along the river while fishing."

Shinobu turned to her sister with a smile. "That matches up with what we were told. She's alright to talk to."

Kanae nodded still not looking away from you. Instead she slowly sat down by Kanao. "That's good. Then we won't bother you with anymore unnecessary questions." Thank goodness for that at least. "Y/n what happened between you and Tengen while you were gone?"

You paused raising the warm cup to your lips to blink at her. "Oh that?" You shrugged. "To be honest I don't exactly know. He kinda just went crazy and started chasing me down the beach like I was a full course meal or something! By the way-" You pointed at her giving a deadpanned look. "-nothing with a fish tail should be allowed to crawl that fast on land. It's a freak of nature!" Mitsuri giggled at your response and you shot her a frown.

"Well what were you doing before he did that? What did he say? It's important."

You hummed slowly removing your stink eye from Mitsuri who still looked amused. "Well, I fell in the water and he was nice enough to get me out. And then we mostly talked. He's very braggy that one."

"That definitely sounds like the fish. All glitter no brains."

You resisted laughing at Shinobu's description of Tengen and just nodded. "Yep. That's him. He said he just wanted to apologize and make sure I wasn't dead and thank me for helping them." You shrugged again making sure to take a long sip of your drink before continuing. "Oh. I also got him to promise not to sink anymore ships so that's something."

"What happened just before he started chasing you?" Shinobu rose a brow. "You must've done something to get him excited."

You thought about it for a long moment. "...Nothing really. He joked about me using CPR as kissing so I told him I'd never kiss him if he was going to be like that but im different words." It was then the five other girls gave each other wide eyed looks. "...What?"

"Y/n. Did you tell him that in a normal way ..or were you teasing him?"

You blinked. "We were joking around. He's the one that got in over his head."

"Oh..Ooh no."

"Oh no what? What's going on?"

They slowly looked at one another before Shinobu inhaled. "I'll just come right out and break the ice!" She clasped her hands and turned back to you with a strained smile. "Y/n. Mermaids play chase with each other when they're romantically interested."

There was silence in the air as everyone looked between Shinobu and you.

You stared widely. "...What?"

"And his teasing you was in actuality his way of flirting with you. In his point of view you were totally flirting back."

"WHAT?!" The cup nearly tumbled from your hands.

"Did any of the others try any certain behaviors when they were with you?" Shinobu continued casually as if you weren't in total shock. "Grooming behaviors such as combing hair? Or maybe they tried to feed you something?"

"I-...W-Wait! What the heck was that last bit you dumped on me?!"

"Answer the questions please."

"Y-Yeah..All of that actually but what has that have to do with me?!"

"Did any of them try giving you anything? Like maybe seashells or fish or even something valuable?"

"I-"...You paused. Eyes going wide when you remembered a certain fire haired merman and his ring. "Oh gods... Kyojuro tried proposing to me- B-BUT I GAVE HIM BACK THE RING AND TOLD HIM NO!!"

"Well good news! They don't think you're married! However they probably think you're most definitely interested."

"What? But how?! I clearly didn't want anything and I told them that!"

"You see that's the problem. They don't have the same understanding as we do. I think you should take a look at the book we found. It explains everything!"

"Book? What? You were so confused right now. First you were talking about Mermaid coupling and now a book?

You didn't get much of a say before you were just handed over a book. A blue covered book by Koyuki who practically waved it in front of your face. You blinked before leaning back to take in the faded words carved and then inked into the cover. ..'A Researcher's Guide To Magical Creatures And How To Avoid Them Vol. 1.' ... You rose a brow and turned to Koyuki and then back to the two sisters.

"We found it on one of the shelves while we were looking around. We think a researcher left it here on the island while studying them. It's been really helpful in guiding us around this trouble. Opening it to chapter five."

You still didn't know what to think about this, but decided that you had nothing to lose, so the half empty cup was slowly placed down onto the floor next to you and your hands slowly took the book from Koyuki giving her a small thanks. ..F/c eyes looked at the book, then at the girls, then back to the book.. Before hands slowly opened it and started flipping through the pages. Chapter one centaurs. Chapter two elves. Wow. This was a pretty thick book. Every chapter must've been at last a thousand pages each. Chapter three- Ah. Here we go. Mermaids and Sirens. Apparently there was a difference??

"Skip to like fifty pages in." Koyuki pointed out to you.

..Ok. If it'll get you answers faster. You flipped through about that much until bold words on top of one page in particular caught your eye. 'Courtships And Pod Units.' You gave another glance at Koyuki to confirm this was the page she wanted you to read, and began reading once her smile confirmed it.

'In all my years of studying these water dwelling beings and their habits and habitats, it was very difficult to study something that lived somewhere where no human could really go. Luckily the individuals of this isle were able to trade certain items for certain favors from the local population. Intrigued by this strange ordeal, I traveled to the smallest of these isles and brought gifts of simple jewelry and exotic foods such as jerkied elk meat and raw steak that usually they are unable to get their hands on.

I was extremely lucky and found a rather unpleasant large great white mer and his eight wives. Two of which seemed to be koi fish in origin with their tails while the others varied from other shark based mers to more tropical colorful coral reef fish. The male seemed rather hostile to me at first and refused contact until I offered the gifts in trade for info.

It seems like the rarity of the meats intrigued him enough to change his mind and agreed to answer some of my more difficulty answered questioned.'

EIGHT WIVES?! Wow. And you thought Uzui had a lot of partners. You briefly wondered if this merman was the one Tengen was referring to when he mentioned taking over this territory before reading more.

'While he himself was unpleasant, his wives were all very polite and sweet women who gladly answered my various inquiries while trying on the simple bronze jewelry and passed around the meat. I've noticed first in behavior between pods are different. The last pod I interacted with was a small pod of two husband and their wife whom was the pod leader and had at least two children present.

The female accepted my last gift of delicious ribs in exchange for a few of their lose scales to study. The order she fed her family was her children first, her husbands second, and then herself as leader last. I thought this order applied to all pods until I met this unpleasant fellow. Instead of feeding his wives first, he snapped and hugged most of it to himself. Gluttonous man to say the least. So it seems while the heirchy system is the same, not all pod leaders are generous to their spouses.'

Talk about rude and selfish!

'While not in depth I've managed to get a very good chunk of information that I'm sure will help future generations navigate the waters surrounding these fantastic creatures. The main bulletins are certainly good to keep in mind especially for wondering maidens getting close to the shoreline.

-If a mermaid/merman wishes to court another then they usually do things to show their worth. Example being bringing back big game like a seal or shark to prove they can provide food or gifts of polished shells or jewelry to show off wealth. Sometimes they'll even spare with a love interests' family member to show off strength.

-The type of courting habits depends on the type of mer or water creature they are. For example:

Seal mers, or selkies as they're called, will offer their potential partner an opportunity to touch their seal skin while in human form as a sign of trust and interest.

Shark mers will often show off scars and bring back large prey to present to a potential mate to show how fiercely they can protect.

Crustacean mers will offer dances being crab/lobster mers.

Sea dragons might offer a piece of their treasure hoard or recite poetry or knowledge.

However the most common signs of courting is offering valuable resources/objects. But again it varies from water creature to mer.

-Mers don't really have a concept of monogamy or polygamy. Some just prefer one life partner while others sometimes have multiple partners. It's not uncommon for them to have more than one partner. To them it's really just normal.'

Well that explains a lot about Tengen and his family of mers. And why Rengoku tried giving you a ring. And why Suma tried feeding you that catfish a long time ago.

'-It's more common for the women to take the last name of the males but again this isn't always the case.

-Pods are usually categorized by two: Family Pods and Neutral Pods.

FAMILY PODS: Usually the most common and very big varying on the mers. These are usually made up of just family members. Usually a pair of parents and their partners, and their children. Sometimes a family pod will be very big with grandparents, along with uncles and aunts and the main partners' siblings but it's less common.

-There is always one leader in every family pod, usually it's the father of the children. They are in charge of leading the pod and have the final say on things.

-The children are referred to as guppies or pups.

-Ever heard of sharks having a nursery for their pups? Well mers have a nursery for their children too. It's usually hidden and guarded to avoid predators or hostile mers.

-Usually a mer doesn't leave on their own until they're anywhere about sixteen to twenty years old.

NEUTRAL PODS: These are just pods made up of three or more random mers. Sometimes it's a trio or more of romantic partners but most commonly it's just a group of random mers. Neutral Pods can be made up of family members but more often than not it's just random mers who decided they liked each other enough to hunt together, partners without children, or they're made up of mers who just decided to hunt together as they live in the same area.

-If you encounter a neutral pod made up of romantic partners it'll be very easy to tell who's the leader of said partners. The leader will be decorated in the most jewelry. Usually this jewelry is made of home made seashells and stolen trinkets. However if they're in contact with a lot of valuables like gold, jewels, etc then they will have most of it decorating their body however they will also adore their partners in said jewelry as a form of wealthy status and it's sort of like their version of a wedding ring.

-The main leader of said partners is usually the one that gives out the jewelry or gifts amongst his or her partners.

-a neutral pod isn't considered a family pod unless made up of family members or if a neutral pod of partners has children.'

Actually...That explains why Tengen is absolutely covered in jewels and jewelry. WAY more than Kyojuro or the girls. Does that mean that Tengen was the one who gifted them all of that stuff?

'-Mers are highly territorial. Not that an area can't be shared by multiple mers but usually a lone mer or pod has a specific amount of territory they own over.

-Because of their highly territorial nature, male mers will often be covered in scars from fights over territory, fights over a mate, or fights over treasure. LOTS of times fights between them often result in scars, severe injuries, and even death.

-Physical grooming like combing each other's hair, helping to remove loose scales, or just physical touch in general is seen as an intimate act on the same level of a romantic kiss on the cheek so usually it's only reserved for romantic partners or family members.'

A very large glass sound went off in your mind. Eyes going wide open like an owl. ...Say what?

'-Mermaids mate for life like swans do. Unless the other partners/partner dies then they won't really take on another partner.

-THIS is why humans must be very careful when interacting with mermaids/men of any kind. If you do encounter one the following rules Must be kept in mind.

1. If you encounter one of these fantastic creatures be sure to mention a present partner casually. Even if you do not have a significant other, the mere mentions of a partner will detour most interest from yourself.

2. Keep your interactions platonic. You must never insinuate romantic interest to one. Even the slightest hint of possible interest will make them pursue.

3. Avoid talking about romance or future goals outside of mentioning your partner. Never mention children to them. Talking about children with them insinuates the interest of finding them potential parents to have children with.

4. Keep your distance. Allowing touch is a huge sign of trust and interest of physical contact. Keep as physical far away as possible if you can and do not allow contact to be initiated.

5. Absolutely above all else NEVER accept gifts. Gifts are usually only given out as a proposal of interest. If accepted then consider yourself doomed because any outside romantic interest will result in retaliation and usually does not end well.

-Mers who're able to keep a human partner are usually seen in higher regard as not everyone can keep one. This is why steps must be taken to ensure the human doesn't end up in hot water. And why many young mers are attracted to the aspects of having a human spouse, not really taking into consideration the blatant difficulties of a relationship like this.

-Mers will also play chase and fight with each other as a display of playful behavior. Reminds me of behavior I've also encountered when I spoke to the Beastmen tribe of the Southern Kokkori Forest. They display a similar playful behavior with their own mates and children.

All the information I gathered was limited but very useful! I'll try bringing back some gold and silver coins and more meats in two weeks time to see if I can get a better description of their underwater homes.'

The book was quickly closed with a loud thud sound and you just stared at nothing really. There was quiet for a long while before Shinobu bluntly asked-

"So how much did you mess up?" Both her sisters shot her a look but you groaned raising the book to your head.

"A lot! Kyojuro asked me about having kids once!" You felt so embarrassed pressing your blushing face deeper into the book. "How was I supposed to know that letting them brush my hair was flirting?!"

"Yep. She's screwed."

"You're not helping any!"

"Let's not argue right now." Kanae gave a worrying glance at the window looking for movement..but sighed when she saw nothing. "There's more serious matters to be dealt with right now. Like getting home."

Your body stiffened before you slowly looked up from the book to poke at eye at her. "Wait. You've actually been trying to get back?"

Kanae nodded. "For nearly the entire time we've been here. You see we weren't the first ones here." Kanae turned to the girl right next to you. "Koyuki was actually here the longest. Kanao was taken here as they've seen her gathering common healing herbs. When she couldn't help her, we were next."

"But why would they need three healers?"

"I get sick often." Koyuki looked embarrassed and shameful almost looking away from the others around her, shuffling deeper into the blanket around her shoulders. "That's why they're here."

"They promised they'd let us go once Koyuki's condition got better, but.."

"Let me guess. Those other mermen got attached and decided to change their minds?"

Kanae sighed. "Yes. Exactly. Unfortunately the only one who seems to understand that we don't want anything to do with them is Giyuu."

"Giyuu?"

"The merman you saw with Shinobu earlier. He's actually very understanding and let's my sister study him without trying to court her. He's the one who's tail looks like a demanson's cichlid fish. Unfortunately he's still unwilling to help Shinobu or ourselves off the isle."

"But if you two two can't leave-" You glanced at Kanao who blinked at you. "-then why hasn't she gone home? She doesn't have anything to do with them, and Mitsuri doesn't either."

"Because if she went back then she could just tell someone where we are, and unfortunately its Obanai who likes her. He's the sea snake you saw." Kanae shook her head. "But we've been coming up with an idea. You just happened to arrive just in time too."

You blinked and looked over at her. "You mean an escape plan?" She nodded. "What kind of plan?"

Before she even said a word, she made a 'shush' motion with her finger to her lips before getting up. Going to the already closed window to pull the curtains back just enough to peek out, sighing when she saw nothing. Then going to the door to quietly open it before peeking into the stil locked home before quietly closing and locking the door back.

"What are you doing?"

"Making sure Obanai wasn't inside with us, or Tengen was still lurking about." She half whispered turning back to you. "Obanai can go on land and actually lives on the island with us, and Tengen has incredible hearing even more powerful than a normal mer's. Sometimes Obanai will come inside without telling us just to talk to Mitsuri."

"I don't mean to put out plans in trouble!," Mitsuri shuffled still holding onto the tray she brought the cups on. "H-He just likes to talk I-Is all."

"We're not taking any chances after what happened last time."

"Last time?" There was a last time? What happened last time?

"There's an old shed that was attached to one of the damaged homes that's still hear. Kanao found a boat that we could've used to escape with, but Obanai caught us talking about it. The boat not escaping with it." Her expression saddened. "The next night when we went to get it, we found it smashed to nothing but splinters." Your eyes widened. He smashed a whole boat to keep them here?! No wonder they were taking precautions. "But we have a plan! Can we trust you to help us?"

You blinked but nodded. "Anything! I want to go home too!"

She smiled widely. "There's a full moon at the end of the week. Every full moon there's a rapid power of a current right near where we currently are. It brings up a bunch of fish and so they all either go out hunting or sleep. If we can get a boat to that current, it'll take us near a piece of land we can leave through within a few hours."

"Uh. There's a problem. I thought you said the boat was destroyed."

She smiled wider. "It was but we found another perfectly usable under some old debry. It's big enough for all of us if we squeeze in. So what do you say? Will you help us?"

You nodded. "I'm in!"

She nodded. "Alright good. Here's what we still need. I found about three oars but we need to see if we can find some more, and a good bucket in case there's a sudden leak. Until then everyone needs to act as they usually do and don't mention anything about-"

"KANAE!!"

All six of you jumped up as a rather gruff and powerful voice called out the name of one of you. What was-?

"KOYUKI!! I'VE RETURNED! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!" A different but still loud male voice called out to another one of you.

What the-?

"Y/N!!" "MITSURI!!" "SHINOBU!!"

What in the world?!

A whole chorus of voices were calling your names minus Kanao who got up and went to the very large window. Throwing the curtain open, unlocking it, and pushing it open to peer out.

"Kanao! Hey! Can you tell the girls to come out? By the way, have you met my brother?! He thinks you're really cute!!"

"SANEMI DON'T SAY STUFF LIKE THAT!!"

"It's true!"

"NO IT'S NOT!!"

You all looked at one another.. before slowly getting up and walking to the window too. The book forgotten about as you helped Koyuki up and along with everyone else gathered by the window. It was large enough for all six of you to stand there and look out only to pause at what you saw.

They were back!

All of the mermen you previously saw plus your friends and two new ones. One was right next to the shark mer. They looked similar enough to be related only his hair was more black and he looked young, around the same age as Kanao. He took one look at all the pretty ladies looking out- His face turned an immediate red before he dunked his head back underwater. Aw. He was actually adorable! The other one though-

Whoa.

He was actually very colorful and unusual looking compared to the others. Pink hair. Greyish skin. Weird blue stripes. He was certainly a strange looking one. He brightly absolutely happy at Koyuki and raised a hand to wave at her.

"Koyuki, we're all gonna practice spare! I'm so happy to see you again!," he called out making the girl pushed the bottom half of her face into the blanket.

"KANAE, WATCH ME KICK THIS LOSER'S ASS!! YOU'LL LOVE THIS MORE THAN THE JEWELS!!"

You all turned to Kanae who turned red and turned her head away from your prying eyes. You guessed that one was Sanemi.

"GO TENGEN!! GO KYOJURO!! GO TENGEN!! GO KYOJURO!!"

Hey. That voice you definitely knew! You leaned out more and looked up the beach towards the right. A cluster of rocks was there sticking out of the water and on those rocks were three female mermaids you knew all too well. Sitting aside and happily watching the spectacle their husbands made towards the pumped up males. Suma loudly waving and cheering on the two men sitting there.

"Been a while, Akaza! I thought you were never going to come visit again!," Kyojuro greeted the man before him.

"HA! You wish! Like I'd let you think I'd let you claim my winning streak!"

"Never the less, suggesting we all spare is a great idea! It's been so long since I tussled!"

A loud smack noise sounded off next to Kyojuro as Tengen smacked his fist into his other hand. "Kyo and I verses you and Obanai?! HA! Neither of you two stand a chance!"

Obanai hissed in response and Akaza shot an annoyed look at Tengen. "Big talk for a guy who can only fight puny humans and their ships!"

"Ooh! I'm so scared. You're still butthurt over Kyojuro rejecting your flirting to get with me instead. And can you blame him? Look at me!~" His muscles tensed making them flex and his wives give off a few loud squeals. Kyojuro not to subtly also turned his head toward his torso. "Who could resist this flamboyant body?~ Can't cry because my chest is bigger than yours.~"

"OH YOU SON OF A BITCH!!"

You stared as Tengen sent a wink at you- Only to get tackled backwards onto the water by a pink blur and a loud splash. ....Well, no one could be more embarrassed that Tengen right now.

"Giyuu, don't be so mean to him!"

You looked over. A black haired merman was laying on top of the shark Merman, holding him in a choke hold while his upper half was under water. The shark guy thrashed about flailing his arms to try and get a hold on the one on top of him, bubbles cascading up around his head as it was held underneath the water screaming profanities you were sure shouldn't be said around Kanao.

"...Whelp. I stand corrected."
