Canon divergent! I love wondering how things would turn out if just one little thing changed, and then letting it spiral as consequences lead to new changes! after that it's Time Travel! (which technically falls into the same category if you think about it bc things are guaranteed to change, but this time with the added benefit of lingering Trauma from however things went Wrong the first time)

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

to write for yourself first and foremost. I started out like this for most of my life because i was lost in the sauce of childhood creation, but the older i got the more i started wondering how others would react/like it. I loved getting my degree and wouldn't change it, but there was definitely a struggle in writing the genres and stories I loved in classes where nearly every single other person was writing like.... speculative fiction and contemporary fiction and literary fiction??? then I was there with fantasy young adult novels and shit like that. I started considering changing just to get less judgement, but now a few years out from that, im very happy in my little corner of fun fantasy and fanfic and all the stuff that brings me joy. If I don't love what I'm writing, how can I expect it to be good? There'd be no soul there.

oh there are so many 😅 i adore any long comments that go line by line so much (seriously if anyone does this we are besties in my mind), but i also enjoy the funny ones! There's one i got that said "by the gods, there sure was angst here. Woman of your word" and i laugh so hard every single time i remember it 🤣 also I've gotten a few comments on formatting discord convos in one of my modern!au's that made me so happy because i FOUGHT with autocorrect and AO3 for a long time to make it look like real conversations you could find in discord, and having multiple people notice ( @tunaababee being one of them hi liz ily) felt really, really nice 🥹🥹

Nazuna proposing you say? Well not that you'd say no anyway, but with the amount of thought and planning he put into this? You’d never find the words.

He wants everything to be PERFECT. 

The venue is picked out- somewhere nice but lowkey, he doesn't want it to be super public, for the sake of both of your nerves- he's thought about potential outfits, the weather, food, music- you name it, he's thought of it. 

If he thinks you'll worry, he'll subtly get your friends to propose a manicure so your nails are nice for any potential photos with the ring- 

Speaking of the ring; it's gorgeous.

You'd both had a discussion and agreed you felt it was good timing to get married, and of course you'd browsed some engagement rings together, but that was awhile ago… Of course, Nazuna had compiled everything you'd said. Gems you liked, adornments that caught your eye- he even went as far to call your family and ask if there were any special rings that passed through the family. 

After everything though he had the ring you were sure to love. It checked every box of your dream ring.

It was tucked away up the back of his nightstand. Sometimes when you weren't home he'd pull it out and just stare it, entranced by the idea that soon it would rest upon your finger. That soon you and he would be married.

As the day he's picked out approaches, every time he sees you he can't help but smile. Butterflies erupt in his stomach that he can't quell. He's falling in love all over again.

Finally, it's the day before the proposal. You always make time to go out on date nights, so tomorrow evening will be under the guise of a typical, but albeit fancier, date night.

As the days drew closer he started making habit of always having the ring on him, or at least near him- lest you accidentally stumble upon it incase of cleaning or searching for something like a charger. 

It bears a certain weight- not physically, but almost emotionally. Mentally. It brings him comfort. 

Although, tonight, it also brings a sense of giddiness as it sits in his pyjama pants pocket.

You're both sprawled out on the couch, watching a movie that you're both only half paying attention to.

You're too busy laughing at a joke you cracked, his laughter mingling with yours in the air.

Thanks to the blanket wrapped around your legs though, and the couch not being particularly big enough for you both to be laying on side to side, you tumble of the couch in a fit of giggles.

Nazuna is quick to kneel beside you, asking through gasping breaths if you're alright.

He takes your hand in his and pulls you to sit up.

Then, without thinking- just knowing the emotions that are surging through him, Nazuna takes out the ring from his pocket and presents it to you with the words "Will you marry me?" tumbling out before he can stop them.

Yes, he just proposed to you as you sat on your lounge room floor, in your pyjamas and tangled in blankets, the day before he was MEANT to do it.

The answer is, of course, yes, and it's a long session of crying and emotions before Nazuna finally realises what he's done.

He sheepishly admits to his plans once you ask what's wrong and you can't help but laugh and cry all over again.

You ask if you can still do the date- and if he wants, he can ask again.

He says he will- he'll recite his speech properly next time too.

Needless to say, you're excited for tomorrow.

hiiiii my little loves!!! i had a very very productive day today and i am very proud of myself AND i will tell you all about it!!!!

this was probably thee most productive day i've had in like... months. maybe even half a year lmao

anywayyy!! i woke up early and went to get breakfast with my bestie (hadn't seen her in like two months:(( and i am using my opportunity to flex that she is in fact gonna be a doctor in two years), came out of the 'i write fanfiction now' closet to her (she ofc didn't judge btww she's very cool). then came home and baked/cooked a sweet little dessert yum yum yum. then i cleaned my room and changed the sheets, did the dishes and now took a shower. i am in fact feeling very very gooodd!!!!!!!!!

and i'm gonna continue with the zombie au now!! i thought of some major changes hihihii i think i'm gonna change the zombies from twd ones to tlou ones actually!!!! i'm super excited to work on it!!!

hiiiii bestie i have ended up watching both seasons e5 of yr tonight and i had some THOUGHTS so like sorry that this is gonna be long and very rambley but im gonna (....mostly) copy it from my book since thats where i wrote it down dfhkgdhg

so during the phone call after the suit fitting in s2, Kristina tells Wille "sometimes we have to put our own needs aside" and this is probably her training talking, im sure, but i wonder if it plays as part of the catalyst for Wille giving Simon the reins in the "this is the situation" scene outside Simon's house later. like,,, aside from the reveal of August being Wille's backup, i always felt like there was something more that happened with Wille in this scene and idk why i feel like this could be it??

bc pairing this with both of the music room fights (s2e5 AND s1e5)... there's a feeling and mention both times about how Wille is not considering Simon's needs or feelings, and both times he's only protecting himself. but his mom tells him that he has to learn to put his own needs aside, and i wonder if that was an "OH" moment for him ya know?? this happens not too long after the s2 music room fight so it's not too much of a leap??

but then of course, Wille is also influenced by Boris before he goes to Simon's, but i think both Kristina AND Boris ultimately played a big factor in what happens.

because Boris' advice is about being himself, and being his own person, and being able to make that choice, which plays directly into his conclusion that he could abdicate if he has August as a failsafe. it's an option that (i think, personally) he hadn't actually considered a real option. but now Boris is helping him see that it IS a choice he could make.

but it's Kristina's words that cause him to give that choice away. it is no longer his choice, but Simon's. he wants Simon to choose, because despite what Wille wants or needs, what is important is what Simon wants or needs.

anyway that was a BIGG thought i had and idk if it makes any sense to anyone but me but i wanted to share <3 this is what i get for watching yr at 4am.

BONUS THOUGHT: this one isn't recent, i have no idea when i wrote it down, but here is a much smaller additional thought from the yr book: the way that the sound cuts out when Simon is with Marcus >>> during karaoke, during the rowing competition, after Wille leaves him at the ball...... is it a manifestation of Simon's anxiety?

I definitely think that Kristina and Boris both played a part in convincing Wilhelm to have the "this is how it is, this is how I feel" conversation, even though they didn't know it. They each gave him half of the solution. Kristina tells him that sometimes he has to put his own needs aside: "this is how it is." And Boris then gives him a sense of permission to put himself first: "this is how I feel."

And I also agree that the argument was the first event in the domino effect of that. He had the argument and was like "shit" so he went to his mother, and then his mother said what she said, so then he went to Boris. And that all led to "this is how it is, this is how I feel."

So, yeah. I agree, obviously. You have good thoughts.

As for the bonus thought: that makes a lot of sense. Music is Simon's safe space, so when the music goes out....

It's also common that when Simon gets angry or upset, the shot goes out of focus. Which I think is a neat little quirk.
