Hiiii :D I was just wondering, do you have any good Marvel fic reccomendations? Your massive list of star wars fics is like the no.1 thing I go to when im in a star wars mood, and all of them have been amazing, so thanks so much for that!! Hi! Lol, I had to sit with this post for a few days because "Marvel fic" is such a wide range of possibilities, like are we talking the comics or the live action shows? The Avengers movies? The X-Men movies? Which section of those fandoms? Avengers as a team? Captain America? Thor? Iron Man? Daredevil? X-Men: First Class? Just... anything? I don't actually have a lot of comics fic recommendations (mostly because it's too hard to wade through all the movie stuff because so many people cross-tag into the comics tags despite it not being comic fic that those tags are now useless), but my go-to for Marvel comics are always: ✦ Betrayal + Paradox Law + The Game of Empires by Valerie J It's hard to describe this series, other than that about ~15 years ago, it was an ambitious attempt at taking various elements of the X-Men comics and weaving them into a coherent whole, focusing on giving Remy an epic backstory to explain his origins and his powers. It probably wouldn't really fit with more recent comics, but if you're a fan of late '90s/early '00s X-Men comics, this was a hell of a ride with cool powers, surprising family twists, time travel, fun relationships, and incredible ramp ups to tense situations that explode in the best way. ✦ The Gestalt Arc by Lori McDonald Another old school fic centered around the Remy/Rogue relationship and taking them on an epic journey, in an alternate version of what happened after their kiss in X-Men #41. The ups and downs of how they work out their issues, the lives they try to lead with each other, finding their path forward together, it's still one of my favorites for the era. ✦ Anything by Traincat for the Young Avengers My favorite is grab a blanket, brother, but they're an author that I'd write a blanket rec for, if any of the summaries sound relevant to your interests! They also write Peter Parker/Johnny Storm, which isn't my area of comics, but I'd trust them with it! But primarily I'd route you to them for their super fun Young Avengers stories, the Teddy/Billy and Eli/Kate ones especially. ✦ Anything by silverspidertm2, X-parrot, takadainmate, or Mythtaken Identity for Journey into Mystery and Loki: Agent of Asgard-era fic. This is when I was in my prime era of reading Thor comic-centric fic, around Journey into Mystery and Loki: Agent of Asgard, when he was Kid Loki and then Teen Loki. There was a lot really fun worldbuilding or road trips or just feelings explosions fic from this era. Beyond that, my bookmarks are a bit of a mess, but you can scroll through them to see what you're looking for. My primary fandoms were: ✦ Daredevil TV, where I went in hard on Matt/Foggy (and some Matt/Foggy/Karen and Frank/Karen and a little Matt/Elektra), where I read voraciously for about a year before MCU burnout hit. Some faves are Double Blind by smilebackwards and Something Dumb to Do by poisonivory and jump, check parachute augustbird.

✦ Thor (MCU), which is actually the heart of who I was as an MCU fan, I spent a long time there reading a lot of fic and this will take you to my bookmarks with the pairings filtered out. I was a big fan of Thor & Loki's relationship so that's most of what's in there, and I always suggest starting with these three fics: ✦ Bargaining by proantagonist, thor & loki & odin & frigga & cast, time travel, 108.9k Faced with an eternity without his brother, Loki strikes a bargain to change the past. Post TDW. ✦ No Such Liberty by Xparrot, thor & loki & cast, 147.3k The first thing Loki said, after he had swiped his tongue over his lips to wet them, was, "You shouldn't trust me." ~ Following the attack on New York, Thor takes Loki back to Asgard in chains; but this does not mean that the god of mischief's schemes are ended, or that Thor has or ever will give up on his brother. But when Thanos threatens the realm to claim his lost prizes, on which side will Loki fall? [post-Avengers fix it] ✦ The Lullaby Singer by TheOtherOdinson, thor & loki & odin & frigga, 85k wip Odin hasn't left Asgard in over a thousand years. When he finds out Loki is still alive and preparing to launch an attack on Midgard, he could send Thor to stop him. Or Odin could go himself. As a bonus, I have a few more Thor genfic recs here.

✦ Captain America (MCU), where sure I liked some gen fic but lbr I was there for the Stucky. I mostly read during the height of the post-TWS fervor and then tapered off a lot after that (given how hard they swerved away from their relationship) and I haven't read almost anything in the fandom since Endgame, but if you want some fun TWS-era fic, I put together this list recently. (To be fair, I also liked a lot of Steve &/ Natasha, Bucky &/ Natasha and Sam/Natasha, so you can find that in there, too.)

✦ Iron Man (MCU), where I liked a mix of some fun gen pieces and some Tony/Pepper which put me in the minority, but I don't care because there were some banger authors for both. If you're interested in them, I always liked pretty much anything I read by roboticonography. icarus_chained wrote a wider variety of stuff, but I've always liked anything I've read from them as well.

✦ Avengers (MCU), where I read a lot of fic, but it's kind of all mixed in together, even some sprinkled in Black Panther fic, some Spideypool that was super fun for a hot minute, some Guardians of the Galaxy characters showing up, etc. Step carefully if you're not interested in pairings (I read a fair amount of Tony/Loki and Steve/Loki in amongst the other stuff), but honestly by the end I was probably reading more gen than anything.

✦ X-Men: First Class-verse, which is my exception to not reading much for the live action versions of the X-Men, because I am a long time Pietro Maximoff fan and while Peter wasn't my Pietro, I did love him and there was some absolute banger fic for the Dadneto trope, which was where my heart was at. Come Together by blarfkey is absolutely the first place to start!

Hopefully this is what you were looking for, but if you have further refinements on what you're interested in, let me know and I'll try to give some pointers! I've been out of reading Marvel for awhile, but I have a huge backlog from when I was in it, at least. 😂

Hiiii Prism. Hey so. Wanna introduce me to Epic The Musical???? I see it on my dash all the time now but I never bothered to look up what it actually is. On purpose lol. Because at first I totally skipped over it thinking it was some Percy Jackson fanart, and then I thought it really wasn't that big of a deal, and now it seems to be a HUGE deal to so many people on Tumblr. And I enjoy the kinda not-in-that-fandom-adjacent tea-sipping vibe veeeeeery much. So. I literally do NOT know what it is. Is it like Hamilton??? Is it a Percy Jackson fanwork??? Is it neither???? You have now been given the absolute power over whatever you let me know. Because I have no clue.

Okay okay uhhh finedje. I NEVER had to pitch something to someone without the ability to just physically sit them down and like show them before cause I'm generally bad at explaining things but LEMME TRY!!!

So so, Epic the Musical is a musical concept detailing the Odyssey that is being made and like chopped up into 9 sagas! We have 8 of them now so one more to go!!!

Made by the wonderful, and very silly, Jorge Rivera-Herrans, Mr. Jalapeño himself. He wrote it with the theme of ruthlessness in mind, as in when do we adopt the philosophy of being ruthless to other people and when do we show kindness and mercy. (I may be explaining this wrong, Jorge has so many little videos explaining his process about creating Epic, i might leave a link so you can hear from the man himself)

It's not like a Percy Jackson fanmade thing, I know Jorge has read the Odyssesy and is essentially adapting it into this musical in his own way (I say this cause some people just can't comprehend it being its own thing as an adaptation). I don't think Jorge has read PJO? I could be wrong.

It could be compared to Hadestown the Musical? BUT THE ONLY SIMILAIRITY IS THE LIKE ADAPTATION OF A GREEK MYTH INTO A MUSICAL, OTHERWISE THE GENRE AND STUFF ARE VERY DIFFERENT.

I will uhhh keep note that Epic takes heavy inspiration from video games and anime which has the musical take several creative liberties and not be a one to one of the actual Odyssesy. One example of like the video game inspirations is every saga having some sort of boss battle esque song at the end, as if you are going through a video game, level by level.

And the anime inspirations are heavy in the ways Jorge uses iconic anime imagery or like I guess visual tropes in his references whenever he commissions artists to do animatics or animations.

THAT'S ANOTHER FUN THING TOO!!! Aside from the thousands of fan animatics that come out with each saga, Jorge also just commissions art, animatics and animations from artists with each new saga that he'll debut during the album's live watchparty where we listen to the whole musical up till the latest saga. So we have like fan animatics but also in a way, canon animatics and animations on how things go down.

He puts so much care into the music and the like themes and and uhhh musical terms escaping my head but he carries over chracters and their musical motifs so well throughout the story.

He also uhhh does open auditions to EVERYONE like ANYONE could audition for Epic with just leads to so many hidden gems of singers and songwriters that he just hypes up so much, he hypes up their work in Epic and their own personal musical endeavors.

Some of the amazing cast are: Teagen Earley who plays Athena, TROY who plays Hermes, Steven Dookie as Polites, Talya Sindel as Circe, Barbara Wangui as Calypso. Of course, Jorge himself plays Odysseus and he is also just incredible vocally.

HE ALSO uhhh casts his family members in this which is super fun and wholesome and I won't spoil who they play cause its such a fun treat to discover as you listen.

Aaaaaaaaaaa what else-

It is also very silly, we get quite a few silly moments and I really enjoy that. Jorge is really good with sprinkling the silly moments in between the songs and just delivering such a good experience. A lot of the silly moments just become memes and that's also a fun time.

I just love the way he adapted the musical in this very very unique and amazing thing, it's this phenomenon of like story telling and music and also just a collaboration of art between not just the cast who come from so many places but also the HUGE community and I think that's the most special part, y'know?

I think that's all? Imma try to link some of Jorge's shorts and videos here just for fun and because he might explain things better lol.

Hiiii! I saw that you write for EPIC: the musical, and I'm here to request Telemachus x my OC

My OC's name is Zoe and she's blonde with blue eyes. She obviously uses she/her pronouns. She's a servant in the palace, but often wears cloaks and tunics, sometimes armor. She's highly intelligent and very stubborn. She acts cold, but that's only because she doesn't want to be hurt again. If you're rude to her, she will turn things into a fight and beat you to a pulp either with her fists or her words.

I was thinking for the story line, could you maybe do something like Antinous is trying to flirt with her, but he gets too handsy (Not smut, just like grabbing her wrist when she turns away) and she punches him? And Telemachus, her best friend, is furious when he finds out and goes to seek revenge? (He's had a huge crush on her since he met her and his protectiveness just explodes.)

I tried my best. I had to take some liberties with certain details, really hope it doesn't ruin the immersiveness or anything. I feel like I could've gone into details more but I didn't want to make it too long. I hope you don't mind that I also posted this on AO3, if you want me to take it down send me an ask.

Zoe and Telemachus had practically grown up together. Having been born into a family of servants for the royal family of Ithaca, Zoe knew the palace inside and out. As children, Telemachus and her could often be seen running around through the halls, laughing without a care in the world while exploring the area.

Their fondness for eachother only grew as they did too. They both admired each other greatly; Telemachus had always looked up to the blond her for ability to fight, to stand up for herself and fight for a place in the world. Eventually, these feelings of admiration progressed into something more romantic for both of them, although neither thought it wise to say anything for fear of ruining their friendship. And so, life went on. They continued growing up with each other, supporting the other through every hardship they could, and getting closer. Despite both of their expectations and insistence on labelling their feelings as 'a silly crush', the romantic pull between them never went away. If anything, it got stronger. Eventually, Zoe turned of age and stepped into the employment of the Ithacan family. With this employment, she managed to put herself into training with some of the guards around the palace on occasions. He would deny this if ever asked, but Telemachus would often stare at these training sessions from a semi-hidden balcony, watching Zoe grow in strength and fighting ability. Purely for training observation purposes, to become a better fighter of course. Nevermind that he only watched the training sessions she was in.

Things got more complicated when the suitors had moved into the palace. They were abhorrent guests, rude and demanding. The worst of all was their ringleader, Antinous. He was downright violent and had taken on a terrible habit of harassing the female servants of the palace. Telemachus, deeply troubled with the suitors in general, became busier and busier. Still, he did his best to try and keep Zoe away from the suitors. He couldn't imagine them even setting their dirty, unworthy gazes upon her, much less them speaking or Gods forbid setting their hands on her. He was protective of the blond girl before too, certainly one of the motivating factors to his training session watches, but that protectiveness shot through the roof when the suitors settled in.

Despite his best efforts, the day eventually came when Zoe was accosted by one of the suitors, Antinous specifically. She had been walking down the halls, coming back from an errand for the kitchen, a cloak draped upon her to warm her more than the tunic could. Her blond her was done up intricately, a special style for the occasion of going into town. As the woman made her way towards the kitchen, she heard a deep voice call out to her. She turned around, coming face to face with Antinous, a smug smile on his face, "Where are you going, pretty thing?" he taunted, almost cooing. A disgusted expression flashed on Zoe's face, before her usually cold expression returned, "The kitchen" she replied simply. While she wasn't happy about the suitors behavior or rude attitude, he was a guest; a guest should be treated politely and with generosity. Antinous tutted slightly, "Why don't you come in and entertain us instead? A pretty face like yours is wasted on servant work" he hummed with a creepy smile, making a small gesture to the room the other suitors were in, watching them. The blue eyed woman in front of him simply huffed, "I have to a job to do, and I need to finish this errand for the kitchen anyways. Goodbye" she replied coldly, turning to continue on her way. In that moment, Antinous frowned, reaching out and grabbing her wrist hard, causing her to drop the basket of goods, "Aw come on sweetheart, don't b-" he was interrupted when a fist collided with his face. In dazed surprise, he let go of Zoe's wrist to hold his face, groaning softly.

When he lifted his hand, he looked up at the blond woman, grunting, "You bitch!" he almost growled, lunging for her. Unable to dodge in time, they both tumbled to the ground. Thinking quickly, the servant launched her head forward, hitting the suitor straight on his nose. As expected, Antinous responded with his own attack. This went on for a few minutes until the commotion drew in some guards, servants and the other suitors. While outmatched in pure physical strength, Zoe held up her weight properly in the fight, outsmarting her opponent instead and using his own physical strength against himself. The suitors, grabbed Eurylochus while the guards and servants grabbed Zoe, separating the two. After a few exchanges of insults, the woman grabbed her basket wordlessly and headed towards the kitchen. The suitor couldn't be taught a lesson or reasoned with anyways, her words and punches would've been wasted on him. Said suitor took her walking away as a personal insult, yelling after her before storming off with the other suitors.

"What happened?" was the first thing Telemachus managed to utter when he bumped into Zoe from her way out of the kitchen, on her way to clean herself up. She looked away slightly before explaining the situation, Antinous's creepy flirting, the punch, and the fight. Her hand rubbed her wrist, the place where the suitor grabbed her was starting to bruise. As she looked up at the young prince, she could've sworn she saw a flash of pure, white hot anger. However, if the look was indeed present, it was gone as soon as it appeared, replaced with pure worry. Only a few minutes later, the two were sitting out in the gardens with Telemachus patching up whatever bruises and scrapes Zoe had managed to accumulate during the fight. He held her hand softly as he carefully wrapped the bandage around the bruised wrist, "-and you really should stop picking fights, I mean, what if, what if he hurt you worse or the guards didn't come? Oh Gods this bruise doesn't look good, what if your cuts get infected-" he continued to rant in an almost panicked voice. While he was worried about all the injuries, he was also extremely flustered at being so close to the woman. Patching her injuries felt so intimate, he couldn't help it if his face was red and, yes maybe he was ranting about nothing out of anxiety. Zoe sighed, she loved hearing Telemachus speak and rant, in fact the worried spiel was cute, but this was getting excessive, "Telemachus" she cut in, causing the addressed to go silent, "I'm fine. I dealt with him, and I'll deal with him next time he tries something too." she reassured softly, offering a rare smile. In truth, she felt just as flustered as Telemachus at the caring treatment and touches, her face sporting a red hue the man believed to be from the fighting. The prince's heart skipped a beat at the smile, a flustered smile coming onto his own face, "Uh- Well, alright, if you say so" he smiled to himself, finishing up the bandages. A frown came onto his face however as the words sank in. Next time. Next time Antinous would look, talk and lay hands on her. He could feel anger rising within him at the mere idea. He decided right then and there that he wouldn't allow a next time to happen. He needed these suitors out of his house, or behaving a lot nicer, right now. The dark haired man put on a smile, standing up and ushering Zoe to do the same, "You go to your room and change into some clean clothes now. Rest too, you deserve it" he directed gently. The woman did as told, although frowning slightly. Sure, Telemachus was smiling but, he looked a bit strange. Something was off about his demeanor.

Telemachus made sure Zoe got to her room, his smile falling as soon as her door closed. Now that he knew she was safe and his worry could become a background thought, his anger jumped to the forefront. He could feel himself practically shaking from anger. Those disgusting, dirty men not only tried to get with her, they touched her. Made her fight. His legs moved on their own as he walked. He was gonna make sure they couldn't harass his mother or Zoe anymore. He looked at the door in front of him, the chatter of the suitors flowing through the thick wooden panels. The young man raised his hand and proceeded to bang on the door. The door slowly creaked open and the room fell silent. As soon as Antinous's face appeared, rage flooded Telemachus and he swung at him. The suitor in response, dodged easily and laughed, a mocking, insidious laugh, "Feisty this morning, Little Wolf!" he cooed. The prince swung again, and this time the other man barely avoided the hit, "What's got you so mad?" he teased. Did he seem faster than before? Telemachus looked back at the taller man, panting softly, "You laid your hands on my Z- Servant! I'm her to revenge her honor!" he gritted. His eyes were wide, his mind felt sharper. He felt faster, or perhaps his surroundings slower? This response earned him a hearty laugh from Antinous. For the first time, the prince dodged successfully when Antinous attacked him. With renewed confidence, he swung back, hitting the suitor on the head, "Oh why, you little..." said man grunted, launching towards the prince again.

Okay well, maybe Telemachus bit off more than he could chew. But still, this was a victory in his book. Not only did he manage to stand up to the suitors, he actually managed to fight back! Telemachus had gotten a couple punches and kicks in, almost as much as Antinous did on him! But he dodged even many more. This had never happened previously. Besides, amused by this new entertainment in the form of Telemachus fighting, promised to stay away from Zoe, and that's all that mattered. All of this justified all the bruises and sore injuries the prince gained during the fight, a proud expression and stance on him as he made his way down the hall. His father would be proud of him.

"What were you thinking?!" Zoe hissed as she pressed the wet cloth against a cut on Telemachus' face, who was looking down almost shamefully. His previous pride had been quickly swept away when the blond servant spotted him and started fussing over his injuries. In a slightly funny reversal of roles, Telemachus was now sitting in the garden, having his injuries patched up by Zoe who was chewing him out on the dangers of picking a fight with the suitors, "They outnumber you, they could've killed you-" "They wouldn't have killed me" the prince interjected, scoffing softly at the idea. The woman in front of him glared, shutting him up for a few minutes as she continued to chew him out, "Why? Why would you even do this?" she hissed again, her cold facade slipping. Her harsh tone as a sharp contrast to her soft hands, making the young man's heart race, "What do you mean why?" he asked, confused. The blond huffed, getting angrier, "I mean seriously, its so stupid! You got hurt, you could've gotten hurt so much worse!" she huffed. The prince blinked, frowning, "Its not stupid! I did it for you!" he replied, still swept up in his emotions.

As soon as he realized what he had said, Telemachus felt his face flush a deep red. Zoe froze, her own face matching the prince's in hue, "...What do you mean for me? I'm not worth you getting hurt so badly" she argued back, trying to carry on as she applied ointment to one of his scrapes, and not let the other know how flustered she was. He sputtered a bit, feeling angrier at the implication that the servant wasn't worth protecting, "Of course you're worth it! He- He laid his hands, his dirty, disgusting, hands on you- He- I mean the things he said!" the young man stuttered slightly, getting more worked up, "He should know you're mine!" the words slipped from his mouth unwillingly. Telemachus froze, his face now as red as it could get. Zoe, similarly, also looked red and froze as she looked at Telemachus. She'd never seen him so angry and it was all over her. Not only that, but it was because he felt that she was...his? The next minute, before she could respond, the prince launched into a nervous blabbering speech about how of course he didn't own Zoe, and he didn't mean to offend her and really he just misspoke- He was interrupted by a finger on his lips, shutting him up fully. He looked up at Zoe, her beautiful blue eyes calmer now. He swore he could get lost in them, "If you wanted to court me, you could have just asked. Like normal people do" she commented, trying her best to seem nonchalant. On the inside, she was practically screaming, worried she got the wrong message from the small slip up but beyond excited that her crush might be mutual. Telemachus, although barely managing to concealing it, was similarly screaming on the inside. He took a deep breath, nodding quickly, "Right, yes, of course. Uh-" he stumbled a bit, his brain hazy with the flustered feeling, "May I- May I court you, Zoe?" he asked, his voice notably softer. A small silence fell upon the young pair before the blond woman answered, another rare smile upon her lips,

"Yes."

Honestly, I can’t express how much that means to me. I get worried people don’t really enjoy my art that much because it has such a squishy and sfw contrast to most of the CoD fandom’s taste, but I feel like the bocw fandom is really neat and fun and cool to talk to??

Hiiii I was wondering if you might have access to transparent/clean enemy sprites from the first game, or know where they might be found? Thank you !

Hi hi, most of the game's sprites can be found on the fandom wiki under their respective enemy page! Only downside to it is that when you try to save the files, they save as webp. I've uploaded in the wiki gifs for all the enemies' combat animations, if you want easy access to them, you can download them from my dropbox here!

Now for the static pngs, if you don't want to go through the whole wiki and you have the game, you can try and look in the files themselves (copying the next paragraphs from a previous ask) it's probably a similar process for GoG and Epic versions in PCs, Macs are different, can't help you there.

Go to where you installed Steam in your PC (usually the disk C: on your computer, unless you installed in another drive) and open the “Steam” folder, then find the “steamapps” folder, then the “common” folder and finally “DarkestDungeon”, like so:

C:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon

Now in the search bar, type .png and press enter! And there you have it, after a few moments you should find all the images used in game! If you want to look at it better, I recommend copying all of it in to a folder someplace else, just so you won’t risk accidentally messing with the game files.

It’s obviously an oversimplification but the “small but strong woman” trope.

I love both Meryl Stryfe and Lois Lane. While Meryl only has the 3 adaptations, Lois’s evolution since 1938 has paved the path for complex female characters.

Lois has always had a ton of flaws, but damn if she isn’t powerful in her own right in a universes full of superhero’s. In MAWS we see her struggle with insecurities but is oozing with ambition and an insatiable desire to uncover any and all injustices throughout the city. She is determined to become a star reporter and has already had growth in such a short timeframe. She’s only going up from here. Plus, we’ll be seeing her (and Clark and Jimmy AND maybe Kara) in exactly a week!!!

There’s no doubt in my mind that the newest versions of Meryl and Lois were inspired by each other. Nightow is a huge western comics fan and it’s no coincidence Meryl is now a newspaper reporter. But of course, Meryl is still her own person. In TriStamp, she is still very young and naive but she similar plows in stating her passion is in humanitarianism and isn’t afraid to head out into the frontier, chasing outlaws. She’s not dumb though, she is quick to learn and knows there’s a bigger picture to the story than just a puff piece. There is a contrast between TriMax and TriStamp Meryl, but we are still only seeing her potential. By the second half of the season, she stands her ground, refusing to back down and run away. Just the small clip after ep 12 title card, we get a sneak peak of the iconic Derringer Meryl. I can’t wait to see her again in S2.

30) TBH, I only have the two fics!! 😅😅😅 So I’ll have to plug The Ticket to Tomorrow. It’s my Trigun Stampede x My Adventures with Superman crossover. It’s a longfic/epic with Multi-POV. Think of it almost as an epic fantasy or sci-fic. There’s action, adventure, humor, angst, fluff and more.

The idea for a crossover was rolling around in my head for a few months before I finally typed out my outline. I’ve started getting back into fandom and writing groups to keep me motivated. Definitely recommend both series!
