Modified Espresso Martini
From Instagram, @highproofpreacher
2oz Cognac
1oz espresso
½oz coffee liqueur
½oz crème de cacao
Shake, serve in a coupe glass.
It's pretty close to an espresso martini. I've found that with a traditional EM, using lower-class vodkas makes a drink that's extremely sharp. The brandy I chose rounded the drink and added fruit notes, without particularly increasing the price. The cacao melded under the coffee flavors, mellowing them without really being present. Altogether, a delicious modification on the espresso martini.

Posted @withregram • @highproofpreacher Experimenting with my new @theflavourblaster to make these crazy aromatic vapor bubbles. I have yet to intentionally use it in an actual recipe because I’ve just been having too much fun doing this 🤯😆 I opened it up late at night, started throwing vapor bubbles around and was just giggling to myself like a little kid! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It does take some skill to master- it can be tricky to get the bubble to rest on a drink instead of popping right away. Overall though it’s pretty easy to set-up and use. Good times ahead I’m sure! ✌🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #highproofpreacher https://www.instagram.com/p/CGPkn2-leHb/?igshid=qdd5wkatoiif

Thanks to 🍸 @highproofpreacher • • • • • Taking a quick break from citrus zest photos 🍊😉 but the challenge is running until July 15th, so keep the entries coming! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s a fun shot and recipe for the classic Aviation cocktail. Does anyone remember those? I feel like the Aviation was THE cool cocktail for a few years, and now I never really see them anymore. I recently got to talk with the amazing @drinking.violet about this famously purple/blue cocktail for @vinepair– so check out the article and recipe in my bio. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used @thebittertruthcompany’s violet liqueur, which ended up making the drink appear more “sky blue” instead of blush purple (which I actually kinda like). Anyone have other good violet liqueurs that they like? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #highproofpreacher #theworlds50bestcocktails #tw50bc #barflixx #50bestcocktails https://www.instagram.com/p/CCNJB8VIrXS/?igshid=qiqqn7193tvh

It’s fri-yay aka time for an 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐳! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Instead of dreaming for the day we can get back into some of our favorite restaurants safely (because who knows when that will be)… let’s bring the Friday happy hour cocktails right into our home! After creating recipes for the past 4 months now, there’s a lot to choose from on our website! My personal favorite to celebrate the beginning of the weekend on a hot day is of course the Aperol Spritz. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But on a serious note, I can't believe that 4 months ago COVID lockdown hit in the US and that actually made me really start taking Join Jules seriously. It was the only way to turn a sour situation into a good one I guess. But, I do hope these cocktails have helped cure the oh so missed happy hours and that you look forward to so many more to come… (I'm looking at you 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧)!! Let's just say this, it's only the beginning of Join Jules 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘩𝘰𝘰! Turn up for Tiki 🍹🥥🍌🍍. It has been blazing hot here on the Mid-Atlantic coast, and all I want to do is crush tropical cocktails. But, honestly, it’s just one of those genres of drinks that always taste better at the bar – usually because I don’t have a pebble ice machine at home (yes, it does matter). . Lately, I’ve been making some Mai Tais with @denizenrum Merchant’s Reserve, @smallhandfoods orgeat, fresh lime, and dry curaçao. That’s as complex as it gets, but it’s well worth it. . Who has some easy tiki cocktails that they have developed at home worth sharing? I’m looking for some new flavors 👌🏽🍹.

I really really miss @leyendabk and on days like today with May just around the corner I miss our patio the most. May has always been our biggest month with the weather being perfect combined with our anniversary and Cinco de Mayo. This year we were going to do a huge party for our five ( 5️⃣❗️) year anniversary as well as my book launch. Instead we won’t. Instead, rather than being in Leyenda’s backyard mixing up drinks and hanging out with the whole neighborhood, I will just post them on social media. Like this one— featured in my book with link in BIO!—Cereza Picante: With this drink, I wanted to create an exceptionally fruit-forward fall-like sour that highlighted spice and smoke to compliment its fruity notes. The result is what its name advertises: one spicy cherry. 1 oz Jalapeño @siembraspirits Valles blanco tequila 1/2 oz @delmagueymezcal Vida 3/4 oz @cherryheering 3/4 oz lime juice 1/4 oz simple syrup Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and Luxardo cherry flag. . Photo by @Shannonshootscocktails

1 oz Jalapeño @siembraspirits Valles blanco tequila ½ oz @delmagueymezcal Vida ¾ oz @cherryheering ¾ oz lime juice ¼ oz simple syrup Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and Luxardo cherry flag. . Photo by @Shannonshootscocktails

15 Cocktail Influencers You Should Be Following on Instagram
Tumblr media
Since most of us are missing our local bartenders as much as our friends and family during the ongoing pandemic, many of us have taken to our kitchens in an attempt to make our favorite drinks ourselves. But while G&Ts and vodka sodas are great every now and again, where do we turn when we’re craving something a little more complex? Enter: the “drinkstagrammer” — or drinks Instagrammer.
These bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts have made names for themselves by sharing photos of whimsical drinks and helpful tips with their followers. So, at a time when we need inspiration more than ever, VinePair has collected a list of our 15 favorite drinkstagrammers, whom you should follow right now.

It felt amazing to just rest, read and fully relax for a few days. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, based on all of your responses after sharing a video of my dog Pip on my IG story, apparently you want me to focus on corgi content instead of cocktails

I’m currently taking over @liquor’s Instagram today so you can find me there shooting the s***! Besides perfecting my Mai Tai – I’m really into reading, music, and definitely art… I love to see people be creative and express themselves artistically!

@highproofpreacher crafted the “Smoke & Mirrors” cocktail based on his ruling element – earth.
Celebrate the autumn equinox with a cocktail inspired by the flavor of the season. #ElementCocktails
2oz #MezcalCreyente
3/4oz fresh lemon juice
3 dashes aromatic bitters
1 tsp agave nectar
3 “nickel-sized” slices of fresh ginger

• 📸 @studioprimefotografia . • #hitmewithyourzestshot @highproofpreacher that’s just to say, I’m big fan, and you work inspires me!. • #cockatilporn #cocktailangola #drinksrio #lisboapontobebe #cocktailnerd #RJ #cocktailnordeste #peralta #culturaetilica (em Êtta Bar) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDhe6NiJpla/?igshid=12v7ovfawgidv

Thanks to 🍸 @highproofpreacher • • • • • With this cocktail I guess I’m tearing a page out of several of my good friends’ books- so to speak. 📚 I rearranged my living room just so I could shoot through some of my house plants like @theweekendmixologist. Then before I could get this post up, my buddy @thewhiskeymcgee posted an absolutely stunning swizzle cocktail 🤩 We could say great minds think alike, but I’m clearly just inspired by my friends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A few notes on this recipe: I highly recommend using a dark and viscous Falernum like the one from @bgreynolds, vs. Velvet Falernum. For the rum, I used one of my favorite Jamaican rums at 50% abv, aptly named “The Funk.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “It’s Not Rocket Surgery” 🚀 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1 oz Jamaican pot still rum ¾ oz Yellow Chartreuse 1 oz fresh lime juice ½ oz pineapple juice ½ oz rich and dark Falernum ½-¾ oz Empress Gin Splash of soda water ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Combine rum, Yellow Chartreuse, Falernum and lime/pineapple juice in a tall glass. Add crushed ice and swizzle with a bar spoon or swizzle stick. Top with more ice and add a splash of soda water. Carefully float the Empress Gin on top, then garnish with fresh mint 🌿 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #highproofpreacher #theworlds50bestcocktails #tw50bc #50bestcocktails #barflixx https://www.instagram.com/p/CB5JeB6o3e0/?igshid=2wqz0zj61gkv
