Ok I know HSMTMTS is all about the kids and season 4 is only 8 episodes long so there's only so much they can even pack in in that time on top of all the characters but I just really wish we could've gotten more about HSM4 in some capacity. Like, we got the synopsis. We had the cameos. But could we have just gotten a little more? Some comments somewhere, even outta the episodes? Some kinda miniseries, like even just 2 minutes worth of something a couple of times?

Obviously it wouldn't make much sense to dwell too much on HSM4 in HSMTMTS for multiple reasons and that's totally understandable. You can only go so far there without Troy, Gabriella, and Sharpay [if you're involving the entire cast]. The kids are the focus of the show, not the OGs; they had their time and their ending, now it's these characters' turns. HSM4 doesn't exist IRL and, to be real, without Kenny Ortega at the helm would mean absolutely nothing because if anything ever did magically come to fruition it SHOULD be Kenny. But personally, I just also don't like little bits and pieces dangled in my face with no full answers. The fangirl in me wants to know MORE. Also you can't just give us only 2 seconds of Ryan with his husband and especially not give us his name. That's just mean.

Because…

Gina telling Ricky “but with you I feel so seen. And so understood and so known.” basically destroyed me. It hit me so hard. Like, that’s just beautiful. It’s better than any love confession. Because like, that’s ultimately all that you want. A lot of people can give you so many things but the feeling of being so utterly you, so at peace with a person. That’s priceless. And that’s what Gina deserves. The reason she felt in love with Ricky is because she could be herself instead of the made up versions she pretended to be. And you could see this season how herself she was.

And for Ricky to hear this words coming from her, someone that is constantly struggling with not knowing if what he gives or has is enough for people to want to stay (his mom, Nini…). Someone that is “always too late” (but never when it counts) it must have felt so validating. Ricky’s biggest quality is that when he loves, loves deeply and unashamedly. And that’s everything Gina needs from him. His unconditional love.

Also, give Sofia Wylie her flowers NOW.

This morning my Spotify threw me a curveball and made me listen to High School Musical 2 "Work this out" on my way to work and I had a Vision: the Trojans see Jean cook and decide to record a full team lipsync to Work this out complete with all the dancing, and the pan drumming, and the plates breaking, and Jean standing in the middle of it all, behind the island chopping vegetables and every now and then dodging enthusiastic dancers and glaring at them.

They post it on Youtube and it becomes a meme in 3 second flat. It gains so much popularity that USC re-posts it on their official channels as a "get to know your team" thing.

(Obviously Jeremy plays the Troy part.)

(Also obviously team lipsyncs become a trend for a while and a bunch of other teams record their own lipsync and outdo the others. The press keeps asking the Foxes if they're going to do one, again and again, until that is the feather that breaks the camel's back and breaks Kevin's media face. He gives an answer worthy of Neil's best, with Neil himself slow clapping in the background. That also becomes a meme. Jeremy calls Kevin to check in and Kevin tears him a new one while Jeremy, having ascertained Kevin is ok, keeps laughing at him.)
