I was reading about a painting when I came across the name Hieronymus Cock. My first thought was someone had vandalized Wikipedia by changing Hieronymus Bosch's name, and not even in a clever way, the slantiest of slant rhymes, barely a pun by the wildest stretch of the imagination, but no, turns out Hieronymus Cock is a whole other guy. Who'dathunkit?

And if you had your way, would everything be like it was before? Could it be that you would never ask for more?

I finally beat Hieronymus in Insane difficulty, which is also my first time beating a raid at Insane difficulty. They were right — Dress Hina is indeed that powerful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Students stats for those who are curious (yes, I underinvested on my healers):
Kokona (borrowed): 3*, Level 88, Skills M/M/M/M, Gears ?/?/?
Swimsuit Hosino: 3*, Level 80, Skills M/7/7/M, Gears 8/8/8
Dress Hina: 5* UE40, Level 80, Skills M/7/7/7, Gears 8/8/8
Koharu: 3*, Level 80, Skills M/7/1/4, Gears 2/8/8
Ako: 3*, Level 80, Skills M/7/7/7, Gears 1/1/8
Himari: 3*, Skills M/1/1/M, Gears 1/1/1
This clear, unfortunately puts a strain on my resources, so I think I'm gonna clear only Extreme difficulty for the next raids... until Hieronymous comes again on Grand Assault several months from now.
And yeah, I really need to upgrade my specialist's gears; haven't done that for months.

☕🎼🌊!
from this ask meme!
i wanted to answer this yesterday but i also wanted to do some little drawings for it and my brain was not cooperating lol!
☕ Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)
i was trying to get in the habit but kind of fell off with it lol, i should get back to trying to do it! my issue is a lot of my work is just meditative and spontaneous. i should do more formal drawing sessions with a warmup included though! a warmup exercise i find fun is to make a random scribble and then try and make something out of the shape you get!

🎼 Your favorite music to draw to right now?
tbh i dont draw to music terribly often, but [while ive been too busy being a night goblin in the ICU] ive really been wanting to do some character study pieces on my OC Hieronymus! he has a playlist that i'll pop on when i get around to this

🌊 What’s the hardest thing for you to draw?
anything mechanical. cars, robots, etc etc -_-

This is by far my longest piece of 2023! The piece is inspired by the famous painting "The Garden of Eartly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch.
It begins with the exterior which depicts the third day of creation in the Bible. When opened, the piece follows the panels from left to right.
The first panel takes place in paradise, where God presents Eve to Adam in a pristine landscape, meanwhile some weird-looking creatures roam the land.
On the second panel, the Fall of man has taken place, and all the people take part in lustfull activities with each other and animals, both natural and mythological.
The third panel - The Hell - is the result of humanity´s sinful behaviour. The city is burning, the river is frozen and naked souls are tortured by grotesque demons.

I got to have a dream date with Hieronymus last night!! ;/w/; It's kind of strange, how much, like, continuity my dreams with him seem to have? No matter how far apart the dreams are, he always seems to pick up roughly where we left off last time, it's very interesting! (He's starting to get HANDSY, ouhgdcfvgbhnj, which I am NOT complaining about~)

I know it’s a tiny detail overlooked among the rest of the Garden of Earthly Delights, but I have to appreciate how jaunty Bosch’s cow is

Hl. Hieronymus
September 420 in Betlehem in Palästina
