As someone who has an allergy to face-paint I have to duck and weave when folk bring out the rainbow face-paint sticks at pride, and I always have the urge to justify myself...

But no one believes you if you say something like 'I swear, I'm not honophobic! I just have an allergy!'

I like the idea of beys being very confusing to people who come from a place with like actual magic

I was very tempted to do some extra doodles of Marius and Sakyo in each others outfits also bc they have the same main color palette. and maybe some maskless and/or hair down lethicas. I might have to get around to that at some point I don’t think I’m done with this idea yet

is it cheap and lazy for me to give Marius an exact bey that already exists? Yes, however it fits so I get a pass I think. Pre-metamorphosis Marius would have Sol Blaze and post-metamorphosis I could see Fang Libra

Lethica was a little harder but my brain has come up with a Dark Nemesis to Death Noctua (<- side note: google search tells me that noctua isnt like an officially recognized constellation or whatever but noctua is a badass name and there isn’t an existing owl bey so I don’t got any better ideas)

mondo is the ultimate cyclist. he and his brother ran a bike shop that he wants to make the best in the world, which is not related to why he liked biking. he just likes going fast

his brother was in a biking accident. there's some rumors that mondo staged the accident so he could become the ultimate cyclist

he can't have his pompadour because of biking helmets but he dyes his hair still bc it's cool as fuck

taka is the ultimate martial artist. after his grandpa's misconduct brought shame to the family, he decided to try restoring it through the renowned sport of honorable combat

is never not thinking about focus and discipline. tries to hide his relationship to his family in contests and school so that he never wins or loses a match because of rage alone

his grades and school conduct are still really good

This is such a typical reaction for Miles. He considers his trauma something childish that he should've gotten over by now simply with time. He tries to reason with his fears as if they're something you could logically argue against. No wonder he's always so embarrassed whenever he struggles with it and hates other people seeing him this "weak". Even when alone he's angry at himself for hesitating. He doesn't want to talk about it with anyone and always tries to lie, when he can get away with it, and pretend it's not as bad as it is. He puts so much pressure on himself to just handle it and it makes it so much worse.

I do wonder sometimes, if neither of them had become 'Brothers', how they might have fared better. . .

Taka, obviously, would not have been as vulnerable to Celeste's machinations had he not been mourning his Kyoudai. . .

But Mondo? Perhaps without the boon of his new hard won friendship with Taka, he might not have had the confidence to agree so soon to help with Chihiro's training. Deeply unsettled and antsy, newly preoccupied that his worst secret will be revealed, he may have stalled just long enough to have avoided that tragedy.

Petition to let mondo have his curly hair down in fics more offen! like his hair is clearly important to him we need more of taka appreciating it like helping him with it or playing with it. While it's not very traditionally manly it seems like it be something he'd let taka do once they got closer. Let mondo take good care of his hair and let people appreciate it!!
