I'm still sick AF but did some of this. I probably won't be working on fics yet, but I decided to work on this over the past two days. Had alot of fun doing this so I hope you like it!.

SFW

-Minimus is an extremely gentle and careful lover. As Magnus he's so large that he would worry constantly about accidentally hurting his smaller partner. Lots of delicate handling and making sure not to apply too much pressure in any way when interacting with them.

- Protective to a fault. If anyone so much as tries to hurt his lover most times it's Rodimus with his silly stunts and he gets the full Magnus glare. But he's also conscious of seeming intimidating and tries to moderate it for his lover's sake, and tries not to show how much he worries. 

- Self-conscious about his true size, but finds it much nicer with a human lover outside of the Magnus armour, he's able to hold his lover's hands, walk about the same pace as them and actually cuddle them properly. 

 - Excellent communicator. Wants to make sure his partner is fully comfortable, cared for. Checks in frequently about plans to make sure everything is alright and tries to make sure his lover gives input so they can make it a decent outing.  

- Loves human affections like kissing. Finding the tender gestures sweet and rewarding in a way that is just so different from Helm holds.

- Cuddling. As Ultra Magnus his size makes intimacy tricky, but Minimus would love nothing more than curling up in a quiet corner with his lover in his lap, holding them gently as they read or chat. Very cuddly when in private. Loves holding his partner close against his plating. He adores how warm their skin is compared to his servo. 

- Loves learning about human culture. He finds Earth fascinating and enjoys it when his lover teaches him new things about music, movies, history, popular culture etc. He's always asking questions.

- adores physical affection. As a minibot he doesn't get many opportunities for hugs and cuddles. He loves holding his lover close and pressing his faceplate against theirs, kisses, or having them sit in his lap while he nuzzles them.

Not the most flashy date but it is a very educational One. 

- Stargazing at a remote locale away from light pollution or from the Observation deck of the ship. where he could point out constellations and share astronomical knowledge. It turns into making shapes from the stars. 

- Cooking/baking class, allowing him to be creative while learning new skills, but so he can make human foods for his lover. He wants to be able to make beautiful meals, desserts even if he himself can't eat human foods. 

- A romantic picnic in the botanical/ Crystal gardens, where they can both just lay there and admire the plant life, pointing out plants they like.  

-but most of all he loves quiet nights with you in his quarters just enjoying each other's company, from watching holos, working or just laying beside each other.

Interrogation Play: it's not one he partakes in a lot but he will if you are the one to bring it up first, it becomes very much a game of who's willing to break first, but other times it turns into desk sex where at the end of it he's kissing every inch of skin he can.  

Mirror play: mirrors just bring such a beautiful touch to interfacing for Minimus,  he loves being able to make you watch how your body reacts to him, he himself loves being able to stare into the mirror and watch the way your eyes never leave his, he loves pairing mirror play with ribbon/ bondage. 

Xenophilia: this mech despite how much he would try to deny it is very much a Xenophile due to humans and a few other humanoid species, but you took the cake by making him fall head over pede for you. The amount of study and work he put into trying to figure out if he could court you, interface. He spends a lot of time and he doesn't think he'd ever want a Cybertronian lover after you.

Season Five is so funny for this. Jon is like nooooo I can't kill these people I'm enjoying it what does that say about me and Martin is like FUCK EM UP. I think they end up killing like three or four people as part of that. Very swag of them

they go around an apocalyptic london smiting people but only if jon feels like it

One of them is an avatar of an eldricht god of fear, the other one serves a lonely god at some point. They try to be good but they actually did some terrible things. Jon ate some people's fear, re-opening their trauma. Martin is all about murdering the people who hurt them, once the apocalypse rolls around. They're canonically in love.

They literally bring the end of the world about, and Jon is the human embodiment of the fear of being watched. They also both have no concept of private property or privacy in general (they have broken into so many places). They also both share an affection for cows. They were living their best cottagecore life as the entire world was being thrown into a fear filled apocalypse that they caused.

For Edward Nygma and Oswald Cobblepot :

they ARE evil and they DO actually murder people together. and sometimes they try to kill each other. literally bonded over being murders when they first met. have done innumerable crimes since. gotham's worst on/off-couple.

The epitome of "the couple that kills together stays together" except that they are also often trying to kill each other. But that's just how love is sometimes. But yeah, Oswald confesses his love for Ed, except he also murdered Ed's girlfriend a little, then Ed tries to kill him, but then he hallucinates Oswald's ghost singing seductively to him because he's also definitely in love with him. They both do so much murder and they are both so in love with each other in such a messed up but ultimately devoted way; I genuinely think they are the most murderous and husbandly murder husbands out there. Plus they have all the delightful campy themed flair of Batman villains!

Goth x nerd couple except they're campy supervillains who like to spice their gay drama up with murder and they have soooo many issues. The spicing it up with murder includes both killing the other's partner out of jealousy and just trying to kill each other many MANY times. I wish the memory of this show was fresh enough in my mind to give you a breakdown of their relationship but alas. Anyway, these two are like the most iconic thing in this show for me, not only for their relationship but their personalities individually

Spoilers for the whole series so far + TMA season 1/2 spoilers below the cut

Ive seen so many posts with theories on how this season finale is gonna go and oh do I have thoughts

so Ive seen about the statement in episode 29 maybe alluding to what will happen; two partners in a dire situation, one is forced to leave the other in order to survive. so, Sam and Celia. Ive also seen it being a dig at Gwen for what she did to Lena, which I do also see being possible. It could be both, which answers the question of “but why show it to Gwen?” that the first theory posed in my mind. but who will be the one to not return?

honestly, I really think Sam would be the one to not return. someone on here pointed out how much the series emphasizes how Sam is scrawny and weak. like more than just as a description. Sam is not very big or strong and he just throws himself into danger- whether that being going after the magnus institute, or attempting to tackle a hammer-wielding Collin. I think Sam is playing right into what the Archivist wants him to do. he is leading himself to his own fate it seems.

this now brings me to my thoughts on the Archivist itself. Celia states at the beginning of episode 29 after finding Sam that no one has survived being compelled by the Archivist. but is it the Archivist killing those people? or does the Archivist just know when someone is going to die, and therefore goes to collect their statement before they do? does it have a special eye on the OIAR to get all of their statements? after all it DID show up first when Gwen was being chased by Ink5oul. it stopped her being killed by Ink5oul. if I remember right it said “not yet.” Gwen couldn’t be killed yet

so is this an orchestration by the Archivist? does the Archivist have a way it wants the members of the OIAR to die, even? the eye is all seeing so I don’t think its so far fetched to think maybe it just knows certain things

for my final thought, I realized, there’s kinda a parallel with the staff between tmagp and tma. in tma, our season one main cast is mostly men, and then one women. tmagp is the opposite. Im not counting Collin or Teddy as they’re less involved. yes there’s things with them, but neither are actually at the OIAR anymore so that leaves Alice, Gwen, Celia, Lena, and Sam. a majority of one gender, and a singular of the opposite

and who was the first to die of the season one tma cast? the only woman working in the archives. so would it be too far fetched to think maybe they’d parallel tma even more with that? have the only man in the OIAR be the first to die. I know this one might be a stretch but this series can make it feel like none of my thoughts are too much of a stretch

I think this is all my thoughts. at least for now. would love any more input on this at all

Hey, sorry if this is long, but I really like what you guys are doing and have nowhere else to put my theories, so...

Firstly, sorry to be that person, but I actually think you mislabeled the entities for two episodes. Needles reads like an avatar of the slaughter to me. It's like Lietner said, the physical description is less important then the emotional or metaphorical. Needles' thing isn't "look at this scary trick I can do with my flesh body." It's "I am going to cause you intense pain at random by stabbing you with my needles. Please be scared of me :)"

I was also surprised you didn't mark Putting Down Roots as a filth statement. Illness, rotting alive, swarming flies, a deeply unhealthy romantic love. All reads as corruption to me.

Now let's get to my fun crack theory. Episode 7 almost reads to me like the point the powers breached into the new world. Think about it, hilltop road was suddenly overwhelmed by a wave of artifacts and "people" (avatars) that map to many different powers (I counted stranger, slaughter, dark, filth, and possibly hunt among the artifacts present). The timeliness doesn't quite match up (we have a statement from the 1800s), but maybe the powers are capable of having retroactively always existed. Or maybe the fan theory that the entities are now the "hungers" that feed on obsession was true until the fears intruded into the world.

starting with the board corrections you pointed out you are absolutely right after reading this I ended up rereading the wiki entries about the Entities because its been a hot second since I've read up on those goobers and I've kinda forgotten how many little nuances that each one has. I had no idea how we missed the clear corruption tie-ins that were occurring in Samuel Webbers journal (Putting Down Roots) especially when you brought up his toxic relationship to his partner.

As with Needles before doing my reread about the fears I just assumed flesh because body modified with needles. but looking into it, sudden piercing needles more cleanly falls into slaughter.

I actually have this ongoing theory originated by my roommate and other blog contributor that the fears might have been scrambled when crossing dimensions. maybe because of this many minor powers have begun to branch out from the main 15 and with that hybrid avatars and entities have been created. With needles I think maybe they fall under the umbrella of slaughter and spiral because of the way they mentally toy with their victims. also could explain why needles has to convince the man on the phone that they're scary because this hybrid power may be new and people have not gotten fearful of it yet.

I'll be making those changes for next weeks board so thank you for pointing them out :D

on to your theory that would make sense especially since this episode (EP 7) is kind of serving as the catalyst for the story to shift into high gear. I think that if the Hilltop charity shop was the entrance point for all of the fears to enter the world it would make complete sense. Hilltop is the one place in the Magnus canon that people have reported traveling to different dimensions. also the date of the incident falls right about the time that Archives started early 2016 so the fears may have also gone back in time to when Jon became the Archivist in TMAs universe (since Jons death is the catalyst that forced them to jump dimensions.) I'm really liking where your theory is heading

also real quick if anyone has more info about the theory that Protocols world lived off of hunger and desire pre the fears appearing I'd love to hear more about that because I've never heard of the until now.

The Restricted Section JonMartin oneshot, T, wc: 2,020 Sasha and Tim are having a hard time getting a book they need for a follow up on a statement, because it's in a restricted section that they just can't access. Jon, however, happens to be able to help them--because of course the nerd would have access to a restricted section in an academic library. But that's not the only thing the two assistants learn about their boss because who is this Martin guy helping them?

okok so over text teasing Is Different but still essentially the same. and having such an easily flustered partner honestly makes it easier

so, if this is the kinda thing yall are into, i like my tickle teases over text to be almost like a play-by-play of how the other person would tickle me if they were there. this might sound weird, but genuinely something that’s really helpful for this is reading tickle fanfic. dead serious. because these authors go into detail of how characters are tickling each other, the extremely specific spots, how characters might react to spots like that, all the methods of how to do it and it’s written so you can take inspo for texting!! for non-knismos i can easily see how it’d be difficult to fully visualize the specifics of how to tickle someone when you’re trying to write it out, so genuinely a helpful tool is taking inspo from good tickle writers!! i’ve found a lot of good fics on ao3 and tumblr from critical role, magnus archives, bungou stray dogs, mha (a lot of the fics with the ADULT CHARACTERS are really good shut up), and many more, but if u want any specific recs lmk!! (im literally not even in those fandoms i just love the way a lot of the tickle fics in those fandoms are written hdjshf)

so, like i said, a play by play. how you’d get them in the position where they’re about to be tickled (maybe you pinned them, maybe you want them tied up). anticipation is a huuuuge factor. the buildup works knismos up like CRAZY, it makes us feel more sensitive and it literally does make us feel shit even over text. tell him how you’d hover your fingers over specific spots, maybe lightly tease his worst/favorite spots with just a single finger until he’s begging you to get it over with. it’ll get him squirming in no time, trust me.

again, being specific it’s important, at least to me 😭😭 talking about the way in which you’d tickle spots is great. pinching ribs (especially if you’re pinching each specific rib and working ur way up or down), scribbling over sides to make him squirm, one finger in each underarm, digging ur thumbs in the pockets of his hips. just saying “i’ll tickle your hips” isn’t really be enough (again, at least for me!! personal preference ����☝️) so if you’re able to figure out methods he likes best, it’ll work wonders for you.

also!!! sending stuff!!! if you find out spots he really likes, sending gifs or clips of people being tickled in those spots is a great way to get him blushing!! especially if u tell him that’s how ur gonna get him when yall visit :3 pretty much letting him know you’ve been researching and finding videos/clips/gifs so you’ll know how best to tickle him when ur together is Great

HG^2 (Charlie "Chuck" Beaumont/Octavian "Tavi Osborne)

Tavi is a cringe-fail loser spoiled rich kid protegy who never properly developed any social skills aside from making people swoon over them. They fell off their god-complex high-horse so hard it landed them in prison for their parents' murder. (They got better, though!) (Tavi, not the parents. The parents are still very much dead.) Chuck has extreme middle child syndrome and enough guilt to strangle the horse Tavi just fell off of (figuratively) .They were so desperate for outside validation that their old girlfriend straight-up poisoned them and they thought nothing of it. Grades and success always meant the world to them until they met Tavi and discovered that reputation wasn't everything. Sometimes being "evil" can be fun, too. Between these two they could fill a lake with their self-loathing, and then fill another with their love for eachother. They are in it together to the end, along with the children they somehow manage to pick up along the way. (These two are technically Marvel/Spiderverse OCs, though they are very separated from the Canon. My partner and I have gone kinda nuts with them over the years, and their story now includes elements/characters from: Ouran High School Host Club, The Magnus Archives, Danny Phantom, Ace Attorney, Supernatural, Harry Potter (as a parody), and many more that I cannot recall.)

Tavi (or Octavian [They/Them]) is the child of two multi millionaire parents. Though they had quite the god complex as a child it was slightly dampened by their roommate/rival/friend Chuck when they got to college at the age of 16. Though they had many wacky adventures during their four years together, that soon came crashing down when their parents were murdered during graduation. So like any sane person they cut off all contact to anyone that they cared about and started getting a Doctorate (after they were miraculously proven innocent). From their they spiraled until they turned 28 and started working at their parents' old company were they run back into Chuck. Chuck (or Charlie [They/Them]) is the middle child of 8, being sandwiched in-between two sets of twins and one set of triplets, wants to noticed within the family. This is achieved when they manage to graduate highschool early and get a huge full-ride scholarship to MIT. They are lead to be roomed with the other 16 year old, Tavi. Through their four years of people assuming that they are dating (they would like to date the but they definitely don't feel the same [they do]) their time together was cut off when their mother had to got to the hospital where she would die a year later. Gets into a toxic relationship, or should I call it poisonous?, relationship with a girl named Gray. That relationship ends and they get a job at a big science place where they eventually reunite with Tavi. Though their relationship starts off very rocky they find bonding time after becoming villains against a common foe and starting a twitch together. Eventually they find a bigger bad and adopt the first villain together <3 (Technically they are Spiderverse/Spiderman ocs but do NOT follow canon very well. Their lore goes further down the rabbit whole but I feel like this gives a good impression of them both haha [I kinda got carried away is what I am saying])

Geheneres (Teneres/"Gehenna")

Ahem hem hem. These two hate the hell out of each other at first. Teneres starts attending this school in senior year because he’s a certified loser freak and in one of his classes he meets Gehenna. While Teneres acts like your typical cringefail cool dude tm who cannot tie his own shoe laces, Gehenna is this cold, quiet being who does not take Teneres well at all. These two fight over the smallest and pettiest things and even before they’re friends they give ex energy.

It’s also worth mentioning Teneres has the ability to control time (rewinding it, altering it, pausing it) and before this he *literally rewrote time itself* in his favor. Basically, before THIS timeline he was shunned by practically all society. He knew the date of his own death, as did the people around him, who never wanted to connect with him in fear of being heartbroken when he eventually died.

Excluding some certain things, he barely managed to escape his own predestined death, which angered the forces which put his fate in place at all. “Nuh uh”, to which Teneres went “FYM NUH UH” and rewrote time. In this timeline, everyone adored him… except for Gehenna.

Because Gehenna was the only one who knew of what he’d done.

But… there was a catch. Over time the two fought less and slowly became friends, hanging out after school was over and learning more of each other’s lives. Teneres learned Gehenna didn’t really come from a very… safe place, and often offered him to come stay at his place after school. Such acts were what warmed a previously cold, outwardly-emotionless Gehenna to him.

But it was also through these interactions that Gehenna grew concern for Teneres. He’d slowly begin acting… stranger, looking as though he hadn’t eaten in days, slept in weeks, acting more agitated and rude. This was because Teneres could feel his control slipping, his ability to keep the secret of all he’d done leaving him. Even still, Gehenna kept it. It was Teneres who confessed he’d messed with time itself, to the people like him he lived with.

And it was here Teneres practically threw himself into this manifested labyrinth of his own making, his body malforming into differing shapes and sizes and matters as the time he’d manipulated and warped essentially dragged across him like sharp nails. Thoughts of self-loathing and yet deep selfishness seeped into his mind and brought Teneres to the limit, where he took out his rage, sadness and fear on the world around him. He only wanted a world that would let him live, and he’d become the villain of his own story just to do that. But to him, it was worth it.

But not to Gehenna. You see, there was a reason he kept the secret, the secret of Teneres’s doings to time itself.

Gehenna valued Teneres’ happiness, just as Teneres valued his. He’d found a friend, a true friend, a person he’d even begun developing… stronger feelings for.

And it was him that was able to truly get to Teneres, in such a state of collapse. Gehenna told him what he did was horrible. It was cruel, unjust and selfish, so selfish. The most selfish thing one could ever do… and yet, he understood. He understood the extent to which Teneres went just to have a chance at being loved.

Gehenna didn’t want to fight. He didn’t want either of them to be hurt anymore… he just wanted them *both* to come home, and they could go back to when they were just arguing during class with each other.

(Lots of stuff I might’ve left out in regards to things (outside) their relationship but man do I have ADHD about these long haired men. Hope you enjoy my cringe…!)

Favorite author (of anything readable-- books, fanfics, zines, webtoons, whatever!) - oh, this is another hard one. it is not at all helped by the fact that I've been going through the audiobook of Lightlark and thoroughly enjoying it for reasons the author never intended, which is the case when you pursue media with a So Bad It's Good mindset. but I might have to give an honorable mention to Alex Aster anyway for the sheer number of times I had to pause her audiobook because I was doubled over laughing at it. but for a more sincere answer, I will pick Mel Brooks, which almost feels like cheating, but his professional memoir All About Me! was such an enjoyable ride and had that same voice and beloved sense of humor he's honed in his movies. Mel Brooks is one of the few celebrities I've written a fan letter to, an actual physical fan letter written by hand, and he is well worth that effort.

Favorite fic type - you know how some fandoms have a very specific type of fic by the nature of canon? my favorite fic is a type specific to the fandom for The Magnus Archives related to the tropes of Loves My Alter Ego and Two Sided Love Triangle. specifically, I love the premise Jonathan "Jon" Sims | The Archivist being a former member of real life band The Mechanisms (that real life Jonathan Sims was a member of) and hapless archival assistant Martin Blackwood being a fan of The Mechanisms, resulting in him being torn between his crush on his prickly boss and his crush on frontman Jonny d'Ville unaware that they are in fact the same person. my ideal version of this would be at a point where the crush is mutual and at first Jon uses his Jonny d'Ville persona to try acting as a wingman for Martin to get him with himself?? but then that kind of evolves into Martin dating Jonny while still being unaware it's Jon somehow. we're talking Rio Pacheco from Jem and the Holograms levels of unaware, which I will forgive Martin for because he's just so starstruck.

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? Oh hell... I will always be incredibly proud of the Erotic Adventures series. It’s been a really interesting and fun exploration of asexuality and kink which is close to my heart. Also Forged in Wrath & Ruin which is the first multi-parter fic I have ever finished. It was more plotty than I have ever managed to write and damn, it felt good to finish it.

What work of yours has the most hits? Forged in Wrath & Ruin by a decent amount! It is the benefit of being a multi-parter posted over a couple of weeks.

What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? Probably Advanced Memetics because it’s a really weird and experimental piece that I wrote based on a goddam dream I had when I was fairly new to Destiny.

Favorite work you wrote this year? Probably A Dream of Warm Serenity which got way longer than I expected, but was really interesting to write about trauma and intimacy and agency.

Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? Probably the refrain of ‘It is a weapon. It serves its purpose well.‘ in Forged in Wrath & Ruin. It keeps being repeated through the story during sections with the Wrathborn until it finally breaks down.

Biggest surprise while writing this year? ...ADHD medication and new fandom obsession are a potent combination. In previous years, the most I’ve ever posted was 75K. This year I have written more than 3 times that. And it’s been... not easy, but I hadn’t realised how much like pulling teeth writing has been for a long time, until finally it wasn’t. I got diagnosed and medicated in January and it has made a hell of a difference.

WHAT KIND OF LOSER ALMOST MISSES HER OWN MCKIRKAVERSARY (this one I am that loser)

It has been one entire year since I posted absolution, my first official McKirk fic. I dreamed this baby up on a weekend morning and started writing, after years of admiring the folks in the fandom from afar. I am so, so grateful I did.

to @afterthenovels and @malionnes -- Anna gave me the prompt that became the fic, and Cait asked me the OTP meme questions that sparked me thinking about my own vision. Thank you both for getting me started.

How little we know of ourselves at any moment; how distinctly human that is. There is such little grace given to the perfect messiness of desire. Even queers feel pressure to homogenize the experience into catchy slogans. The 'born this way' narrative, while politically expedient, has done untold damage to narratives of the queer experience, implying any number of horrible ideas: that you cannot move toward desire without some genetic component urging you to do so, that experimentation is inherently problematic, that you have to know your truest and deepest self to act on something. There were times in my adolescence where people asked me if I was gay and I said no, not out of a sense of self-preservation but because I truly believed it to be so. You can be a stranger to yourself; you almost certainly will be, at some point or another. It is inevitable, as inevitable as the moment of rupture that sends you hurtling toward the self you were always going to be.

Poor Martin is so tired of everyone's inability to give some straight-forward information already! I get it, I'm also easily annoyed by that.

Annabelle: And it’s nothing to do with the fact that any lost souls in our area also get a break from their torment? Hmmm?

Oh god, Martin! I want to hug him so hard right now!

Martin: Could you just try answering a question properly? Just once?

I may have said this exact phrase to one of my partners at one point. (Her response was to explain in detail why it's actually not that easy - maybe chronically overthinking things is Annabelle's problem, too. After all, she does have to keep a whole spiderweb of scheming in mind.)

Annabelle: Step into my parlour.

OH COME ON! REALLY?

For a while it belonged to a sculptor of puppets, who made his strings from the tendons of those he felt did not appreciate his art, and he would dance them around in a mocking effigy. He was, in time, slain by a crusading hunter of the Reformation, who would let no heresy go unanswered. He was bisected with his own wood saw.

My impression of this episode

This is so good! I didn't know that I wanted a full "History of Hill Top Road" but it turns out I really, really did. And I love the little hints all throughout the history to much larger horror stories that could all be a statement in and of themselves. And then the whole "the tapes are of the Web" reveal and ... yeah, this is just really, really good. (Though, admittedly, less in an unsettling horror fashion and more in a "oooh, the plot is thickening" fashion).

None of us remember what had caused the crack, not even those things beyond time who might measure a generation in the echoes of their screams.
