Before Robyn went to Central High School she attended Ravenwood Academy, a prestigious boarding school, for 2 years until she decided to transfer for junior year.

Theres an old rumor that Ravenwoods basement is haunted by students who went missing many years ago. It became a tradition for freshmen to sneak in to the school at night to explore the haunted basement.

Near the end of freshmen year, Robyn and her Ravenwood friends went to explore the old basement. But it was nothing more than old classrooms and supplies. But the thought ate at Robyns mind “why is Ravenwood haunted? Why so many missing students?”

Robyn came back by herself few days later, wondering if theres could be any sort of clues yet to be found. Just when she was about to give up she discovered a hidden door concealed behind a old bookcase. Robyn pushed the door wide open, astonished at what she found.

An old laboratory, covered in cobwebs, rust, and dust. Old equipment laid toppled over on the tiled floor. Bits of glass cracked as Robyn wandered into the decrepit room. The shelves had cores, the hearts of unnaturals, sitting in tubes of liquid keeping them in stasis. “This lab was left to rot in a hurry...”

All the way across the room was a large glowing tube, and a mysterious specimen floating inside the same stasis liquid hibernating. “Experiment 301-B//: FAILED” the screen at the bottom of the tube read, cracked and glitched.

Suddenly a beaker fell from a shelf, shatter into peieces, startling Robyn. A bright purple shard laid on the floor. Robyn knew it was from a core but purple was a rare core color. Unnaturals with purple cores are extremely powerful and dangerous but extremely rare.

When she picked up the shard the specimen in the tube awakened and broke out of its glass jail, confronting Robyn. Nothing like any monster shes see before, large but amorphous. It chased her out of the lab and back onto the school’s campus. With the need to protect herself Robyn materialized her energy bow and arrow for the first time, shooting the unnatural right in its core, dissipating away.

Since then Robyn has felt sense of unease. Something maybe coming after her for what shes discovered. Maybe looking for the shard that she took from that lab. Suspecting that the rumor of the missing students could be related. And that Ravenwood is dubious. The feeling started to haunt her during her 2nd year. As much as she wanted to investigate this, she was afraid that she may end up like those who went missing.

But Robyn would find another way to solve cases like these at the comfort of a new school to start fresh at.

Hope im not bothering you and I dont know if this had been talked about before on your blog but I was really really curious about your opinion on something. I know we have to take a grain of salt when it comes to actors interview cause they don't write the show but what are your thoughts on Ryan using neutral gender pronouns when talking about Eddie's possible futur relationships? (Using partner and themselves instead of girlfriend or herself when he has been until the marisol break up very much explicit with using lots of femal pronouns concerning Eddie's love interest and relationships)

Like I said I know Ryan most likely isn't aware of much for season 8 but its very likely that some stuff must have been talked about and I dont want to be that buddie shipper but to me it's screams that it has been talked about, and I'm not saying it has been confirmed among themselves but with him using gender neutral it screams so loud that at least buddie has been talked about. Sorry that was long but its been wracking my brain and I really wanted your opinion cause honestly I love being one of your avons cause you are always lovely and sweet and formulate very lovely responses (thank you so much btw cause I really really love when you answer me ❤️)

Pleasant tidings Salty, here to say your iceberg videos where one of the main things that actually got into jojo’s, incredible series, and now i’m caught up on everything i’d be interested to hear your opinion on (as a ultra based jojoer) the end of JoJolion. Personally i loved it, from the connections to part 7 and Gappy’s development through the part, but i know some people found it rushed or confusing, and i’m wondering what your thoughts were?

I’m EXTREMELY MIXED on Jojolion. There’s a lot I love, but also a lot I dislike.

WARNING: JOJO RAMBLE INCOMING

My opinion is very fresh, as I dropped off of modern Jojo back in college. It was only recently that I decided to finally catch back up, and do a weekly book club for Jojolion with a few friends.

My personal recommendation for reading it:

Do it weekly with other friends if possible. Have discussions with them about it. There is so much that I either didn’t pick up on while reading, or completely didn’t register at the time. And trying to extrapolate what Araki was trying to say with his story was very fun. It’s clear he tried to pack a LOT into every chapter. Which has it’s pros and cons. Binge reading doesn’t hit the same for me for Jojolion. I gained a far bigger appreciation reading in batches with other fans :)

The way I like to think about it, is that it had the ingredients, but I feel like the cake didn’t come out right. Although it tastes just as delicious as I would have wanted.

I just feel like Jojolion had a bit too many moving parts that even Araki couldn’t keep track of. There’s plenty of early Jojolion stuff that feels very tonally different with later Jojolion stuff. It’s clear that Araki had to course correct and change the plot several times throughout it’s run. And it’s because of Jojolion that I just feel like Jojo isn’t built for longer stories/publication. I think its length caused a lot of issues long term. It’s because of how long it took to make that there seems to be much more room for Araki to have second thoughts, or flat out change his mind on the story several times. (Josefumi having the Joestar birthmark and having it later removed in the volume releases, the characterization of Norisuke, etc)

Plenty of things go outright unexplained or elaborated on. I know it’s parroted a lot, but the “Flashback Man” from the first arc is the biggest example of this issue. If I had more time I’m sure I could type up a more definite list (how the Wall Eyes work is another example, as well as why the fuck Josuke and Kei Ninimura never really interacted past her stand fight, given that they are siblings and JOSUKE IS LITERALLY SEARCHING FOR FAMILY. HE LITERALLY SAYS THAT HE “HAS NO ONE” MULTIPLE TIMES LIKE, BRO, TALK TO YOUR SIBLING)

Now, I’m not saying that EVERYTHING needs explanation, but for 70% of the story, Jojolion posits itself as a MYSTERY. So to have so many pieces of that be unaddressed just feels… strange.

I also just feel like Jojolion has SO MANY AMAZING IDEAS, and has plenty of time to explore them and just… doesn’t.

Tooru is an incredible villain, probably one of my favorites in the entire series, but his presence in the story is soured because of how late he’s introduced into the plot. He’s amazing, but he feels like a very last minute inclusion, especially when Araki wants us to believe that he was totally a part of Yasuho’s life before and we’ve never even heard a rumbling of that before.

Anyway that’s enough complaining, let me hush about what I love about it real quick.

This is the case with everything he writes, but when Araki nails it with Jojolion he REALLY nails it. The Vitamin C arc is incredible, and ties Josuke’s story together so well and has some incredible lore drops. Not to mention that I think that Jojolion has some of his best written characters. Yasuho is one of the most deep and complex female characters in the entire series (didn’t stop Araki from writing that she gets sexually assaulted once or twice, but that’s just an issue I have with his writing overall)

He also goes really strange with the stands and designs, and I love it so much. When Araki gets weird, he really goes wild, it’s crazy fun. Blue Hawaii is such a fantastic arc, and really highlights his mastery of art and choreography in manga. Josuke’s combat is the best in the series imho.

And although the final arc stumbles in a few places, Wonder of U sticks the landing for me regardless, and in a way that didn’t feel cheap. Araki has come a long way from him writing that “Star Platinum can ALSO stop time”

At first, I thought that Josuke gaining the power of the spin last minute was cheap. However the more I reflected on it, the more it made sense. It isn’t outright confirmed, but I feel like Johnny’s spin was passed down to Josuke through his fusion in the wall eyes. Much like how Autumn Leaves absorbed some power from Johnny’s spin, I think that Josuke being in the wall eyes allowed him to absorb the power in the same way. I can’t tell if that was Araki’s intent, but if it was, dude is a genius. It makes complete sense, and in a roundabout way, directly connects Johnny and Josuke in a final battle.

Anyway yeah, I’ll stop the rambling here.

Believe me, I could go on for hours about Jojolion, and especially Jojo in general. I have so many things I can gush and complain about, it’s why I love it so much.

So yeah, I’m mixed on Jojolion, but overall I enjoy it a lot!!

     Was listening to What I'm Made Of from Sonic Heroes and that made me think about Super Tails. And despite my extreme penchant for talking about Chaos stuff, it's very rare that I talk about my thoughts on Super Tails! I think I've made a single in-character post about Tails talking about it way long in the infancy of this blog, so I thought it'd be a prime time to make a proper headcanon post about it.

     First of all, it is extremely rare that Tails gets to go super. Like, it has only happened once canonically. He's gone super alongside Sonic and Knuckles during the fight against Metal Overlord where every team of three had to come together to put an end to Neo Metal Sonic's growing power. (yes tails and knuckles went into their proper super forms, miss me with that weak ass super bubble trash).

     The infrequency of Tails' Super Form showing up isn't due to a lack of need, it's just really taxing on the kid. Due to his lack of sensitivity to Chaos Energy, it's quite a difficult thing to reach, and even harder to hold onto, leaving him feeling drained both physically and mentally after the fact. The only reason he transformed for this occasion was because it was absolutely required. Without all of Team Heroes (team sonic is a dumb and egotistical name and was canonically retconned in an idw sonic free comic book day story comic teehee) giving it their all, the fight surely would've been lost.

     Though, with the transformation, Tails' best qualities get turned up to one hundred. His intelligence grows into that of a supercomputer, giving him the ability to virtually predict the actions of those he's in combat against. He's out here literally doing the Jojo "Your next line is..." meme. Through the most minute tells, he can foresee the motions of his opponents before they've even processed what they're about to do next, allowing him to dodge and counterattack long before the enemy has even begun their action. He's ultra instinct dodging. grabs your face. the twelve-year-old is ultra instinct dodging.

     But speaking of attacking, what of his physical strength? A Super Form boosts the body, not just the mind. And, well... admittedly, his physical strength still leaves a lot to be desired. He's not going to be the person stopping a laser with his bare hands or swinging a sword a thousand times the size of himself. He is strengthened certainly, but it's his endurance that is heightened to its utmost limit.

     Chaos is power… Power enriched by the heart. Talls' overwhelming need to see the bad situation to its final conclusion is what gives him a titan's endurance. He may not be dishing out the most damage, but this fox will not fall. You can send him crashing through mountains, batter him against a cliff face, or attack him with an unending barrage of violence. Do what you will, he will not sink. And while Super Forms naturally grant invincibility, Tails' form has the capability of lasting far longer due to this indomitable trait.

     Imagine, if you will, the in-game ring counter. Once it reaches 1, it simply stays there, refusing to drop to zero. So long as his friends are up and fighting, he will be by their side doing everything in his power to assist them. Before, without this power, he was but a glass cannon. The chance to be the stark opposite is the opportunity his Super Form provides.

     Finally, to make up for his less-than-amazing attack strength, the consistency of Tails often needing help to do his best work remains true, even in this state. As yes, the Super Flickies he has around him in Sonic 3 & Knuckles are also here to help! With his expansive mind, he gains the ability to speak any and all languages in this state. He uses this to call upon flying creatures and imbue them with the smallest bit of his own energy so that they can attack alongside him. He's still not going to be hitting as hard as Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, or... anyone who can transform... but something is better than nothing!

     At the end of the transformation, Tails will find himself overwhelmingly tired and with a splitting migraine. The capability to hold so much more space in his mind disperses, but the thoughts themselves do not. At least, not immediately. He's often out of commission the very second the form ends, which is why it's so hard to knock him out of said form. Though sapping the Chaos Energy from him à la Eggman to Super Sonic at the beginning of Sonic Unleashed would still work...

my thoughts on dawntrail (SPOILERS)

FFXIV twitter has decided the spoiler embargo for DT is mostly over. While I'd like to share my thoughts about the expac there, I figured it was all too much for a tweet thread (and I was right). Decided to post it here because it's a blogging platform and I keep telling myself I want to come back one of these days.

To put it simply: Dawntrail is fine.

I love power of love/friendship storylines so the fact we got a shounen protagonist in Wuk Lamat was something I enjoyed. Shounen stuff tends to be dragged out too long for my tastes so I haven't dabbled in any of those fandoms, so I don't know if people hate modern shounen heroes with as much vitriol. I think I'd have seen it if they did? But the Wuk Lamat hate is a classic case of misogyny with a transphobia multiplier because gamers sure do enjoy stat boosts.

DT is the ARR of whatever the new direction of FFXIV is. It became clear to me during this MSQ that this is a commitment to a new beginning - specifically in the sense of 6.1 as a fresh starting point for new players. I understand and respect their desire to simplify new player onboarding (especially as someone with too many alts) but it's also the center of the pain point I have with 6.x and DT so far.

I'm frustrated with the direction of FFXIV in its current state. The Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc took one main story and built upon it over multiple chapters. I loved that arc and have varying levels of fondness for the characters and places that got us through it. I am the CEO of #FREEAYMERIC and will continue to be a pest about that as long as I play the game*. Aymeric was always a favorite of mine, and I've never forgotten his wish to go on an adventure with WoL someday. I want to take him up on that!

But DT follows SHB's example of planting WoL and the Scions in a brand new setting, far away from Eorzea and all its creature comforts. Norvrandt was still reminiscent of Eorzea, but beyond that focused on characters specific to its region and story. It made more sense then, considering it takes place on a different shard and overlap was damn near impossible. 6.x and DT are still on Etheirys, but are so self-contained that they'd rather avoid referencing old content if they can avoid it. I hated this in 6.x and I still hate it now. There's an entire world full of characters, places, and possibilities left to discover and expand on, but new expansion packs seem to be heading in the direction of dropping all that and focusing on a new set of toys. Tural will probably be done and dusted in 8.0, aside from a bit of side content here and there regardless of the response to it. Hell, SHB is so sacred to the fandom and yet we only went back for a bit of patch story and crafting relic quests during EW's entire run!

This sort of "okay, next" manner of storytelling is only one side of my issue. On the flip side is how eagerly they seem to want to retread certain tropes that worked in past expacs. So many people have commented on this being the fourth final dungeon in a row that shows the end of a society and how that feels so much more hollow now. Running Amaurot for the first time was a masterpiece of storytelling because it made the end of the fucking world more tangible. I hate running that dungeon because to me it feels like a panic attack, but I respect what it does. The Dead Ends was similar but didn't hit the same way (and tbh its payoff is mostly backloaded). Alexandria pulling the same thing stole all of the feeling from it. Like oh okay, we're doing this again.

It's not the only part of DT that retreads old ground. We have yet another scene where everyone comes together to overcome a seemingly insurmountable obstacle, and the only thing I found noteworthy about that is that it had shards of characters who had helped us do the same thing in SHB outside of the dreary context of Norvrandt. Zoraal Ja, one of the main antagonists, is comprised of retreads of other story arcs done better (including one in this very expac!). He's like Zenos Lite - a royal heir with violent intentions made into the perfect weapon of his homeland - but he's missing all of the things that made Zenos interesting and the screen time needed to flesh him out. The circumstances of Zoraal Ja's birth weigh heavily upon him, but Bakool Ja Ja covered that territory in one of the strongest parts of the MSQ. Zoraal Ja is such an afterthought that bringing him into the shared Dawnservant title isn't even considered. WTF.

TL;DR: This all comes down to FFXIV being torn between retreading well-tread story beats that have worked for them in the past while at the same time, willingly discarding almost everything you've come to love over the past several hundred hours of gameplay. They're trying to recreate their past successes by using shiny new pieces in frameworks that have worked for them in the past, and that rings hollow to me. My love for the old pieces overshadows my impressions of the new ones, but the structural similarity is so blatant that comparison is inevitable. As time goes on, the comparisons are less and less in DT's favor for me, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It succeeded in what it set out to do: expand FFXIV.

It's fine, but if FFXIV is a choice between familiar storytelling and familiar story elements, I'd rather they keep developing the friends we've already made along the way.

*Which may not be long, given the lighting issues introduced by the graphical update and the fact that doing certain things in game trigger IRL migraines for me. Still no official acknowledgment of that yet. The graphics update is the biggest step forward in DTm and yet its existence and problematic state make me play the game less. I hate it but efforts to get the devs to notice have been unsuccessful.

Something something random hyperfix on absolutely unspoken characters from the series: See, Dr. Beckett (his first name is Adam to me.)

The protagonist is actually just Trevor Pinerod, an old OC of mine, he just gets used as Tag because I could NOT be bothered to make a new character design. Anyways, as he is also a man with a medical degree, he’s homies with Beckett, and works with him, as the top doctor at a hospital, which Beckett now runs following what happened with Lucy Montfaucon. (fun fact: originally Trevor and Beckett were supposed to hate each other, but we got bored and now they are the best of friends. Take what you will with that. They be dropping the hardest lines of all time and oh my god they kill me ouuuuuugh)

Anyways, fun fact is that a lot of what I’m working with is built alongside @scylla-and-charybdis-posts and @balencia (Rose, and Deity.) !! We actually are just a few RPers who don’t know how we got here over the last two years.

Rose is responsible for a large portion of Dr. Beckett’s writing, and I just am the one who does the funny art. You’ll also occasionally see Rigby, Robert, or McAllister too, as I did designs for the last two like two days ago, and I just like Rigby. I also have Hirst, Montfaucon, Lucy, and Hydrus with designs, as well as Simon and A.S. Maggey has one but we actually know what she looks like 100% pretty much.

Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x Fem!Reader

Synopsis: You are an FBI agent with a past and you were about to enter the BAU.

Trigger warning: BAU stuff like killing, snipping, rape, violence.

Jack wakes up and headed downstairs. He was surprised when he sees someone laying on the sofa. He immediately went to check who it was. When he confirms that it was you who is sleeping on their couch, he cannot help but to hover and wait until you wake up.

Aaron was also awoken and saw Jack beside you.

“Jack? What are you doing there buddy, come here.” Aaron called him. Jack runs to his father happily.

“Good morning dad! Y/N is still here!” He whispered excitedly.

“Yes buddy. It rained hard last night so she cannot go home so I asked her to stay.” Aaron answered. “Should we make breakfast?” He added.

“Yes!” Jack said grinning. The boys went to the kitchen to make breakfast. Aaron started brewing the coffee. While Jack is at the counter drinking his milk. You wake up because of the smell of the coffee. You wake up wash your face and headed to the kitchen to greet them. You were about to say good morning when Jack started laughing at you. You were surprised then Jack point between you legs and he said “Y/N forgot his pants!” And he continue laughing. Aaron, turnaround and look at you and then Jack.

“Jack?” He look at him disapprovingly. You were taken aback because Aaron did not say anything last night and you did not expect that Jack will react that way. You also forgot because you were still sleepy.

You mumble your apologies and went back to the living room to put on your pants. When you did, there is a knock on the door. You shouted and said I got it and opened the door.

“Sir, here’s” Penelope was standing on the other side folders on her hand. She was shocked to see you opening the door but more shocked when he see the old FBI t-shirt that you are wearing.

“Penelope, I-“ You trail when Aaron shouted “Who is it?”

“Oh my god! What are you doing here?” She said in a low voice.

“Its a long story.” She whispered back. “It’s Penelope!” You shouted to answer Aaron.

Aaron emerge from the kitchen. Penelope cannot believe her eyes. It was so normal. It seems that both of you are already living together.

Aaron greeted Penelope but she did not answer him immediately. Aaron realize what was happening.

“Ohh, Y/N visited Jack yesterday but there is a heavy rain so I asked her to stay.” Aaron said casually. “We are just having breakfast. Would you like to join us?” He added. It was so casual. As if you there in his house is perfectly normal.

“No Sir, I was just here to drop this off. I will be having breakfast with Kevin” Penelope decline. She handed over some files to him.

“Thank you, Penelope” Aaron said. Penelope can’t stop looking at the both of you. Aaron look at her back so she snapped out of it.

“Thank you sir! Bye” She said and went back outside. You see Kevin waiting for her. The moment you close the door your phone started buzzing non stop so you went to check it. It was Penelope, texting you.

You also says good bye to Aaron, thanking him for his hospitality. He shook your hand as you say good bye.

You met Pen and JJ at the bar. Both of the girls are eager to see you. The three of you sit down and order a drink. You and JJ order beer while Penelope ordered Margarita.

“Ok, I cannot wait anymore. Dis!” Penelope said with excitement.

“And you have to tell us all the details” JJ said teasing.

“Alright, aahhmmm, I went to his house because I promised Jack that I will give him a ride on my motorcycle. So we went for a spin. Then Aaron-“ Both of there eyes widen when they here you say Aaron.

“You are on first name basis. I love it!” Penelope said. “Please continue.” Encouraging you.

“Hotch … and JACK insist that I should stay for dinner. So I did.” You emphasis Jack’s name. The two of them was suspicious but you still continue the story.

“Then we played video games until it was Jack’s bed time. Jack requested that I should read him a story. After that, I was about to go home but the rain came pouring so Aaro - Hotch offered for me to stay. I slept at the sofa by the way and he slept on his room. Then morning came and sunshine Penelope comes knocking on his door.”

“That’s it? No good night kiss or what so ever?” Penelope asked.

“No! Why would he?” You asked.

“Because he kissed you on the forehead when you were at the hospital in Las Vegas” JJ teased you.

“Did Reid told you?” You asked feeling betrayed,

“What do you mean? What kiss?” Penelope asked, confused.

“When she woke up after the Red dress case, some of us decided to go back aside from Hotch and Reid. However, she told Hotch that he can go. So Hotch said yes and kissed her in the forehead when he was saying good bye” JJ recount what happened. You’ll gonna kill Reid when you see him

“Oh my gosh! Did he really?” Penelope was giggling. “I did not know that Hotch has a sweet side.

“Its not like that. I think he’s just concern that I was badly hurt and..” You said trying to defend his action,

“No! No! No!” JJ said “ He will never lean and kiss us.”

“Imagine if he did that to Derek” Penelope joked and the three of you laughed so hard.

“I think Hotch was smitten by you.” JJ said.

Thank you to @trillscienceofficer for tagging me, this was fun! 1. The provisions shop was small, dark and clearly constructed centuries ago. (From: Can you Hear the Bumblebees Swarm?) Fic about Stonn loving T’Pring and T’Pring loving Spock and Spock thinking he might love Christine and Christine mostly just wanting to have sex. There’s also stuff about what happens to Vulcans who lose their logic because I love worldbuilding apparently! 2. “I’m going.” Noss said after dropping off the bag of spoils for Tom and the not-there doctor to shell and cook. (From: A Good Meal Away from Home) A fic from Noss' POV for this fic! I liked giving her some semblance of a backstory and might write more for her - I love yearning and requited unrequited love. 3. The home Stonn had bought for them was two stories with a small garden by the water, a gate blocking it from the road. (From: The Wanting comes in Waves) This is a T'Pring/Stonn fic in the TOS universe. I had a great time describing their house (as usual) and it was fun getting into Stonn's POV since he's such a literal side character - pretty much makes him a blank slate beyond his devotion to T’Pring! 4.Tuvok had never understood the phenomena of Vulcans becoming attracted to humans. (From: When you Speak you Speak to my Soul) Chakotay punches a guy for Tuvok and Tuvok forgets how to act. Here I was thinking about 'Learning Curve' and Vulcan challenges/ritual violence as a display of romantic interest. 5. “Tuvok, are you able to come home?” T’Pel asked. (From: To Eat Until Full) I really liked this one even though it's so niche! It's Tuvok taking care of making dinner for his family on a starbase pre-Voyager and trying to deal with being away from home. Should he speak his native language more at home? Why do his kids keep asking for pizza? Is he doing the right thing, raising them off-world? Will his father-in-law give him a break and let him cook Aikum-Shur with store-brought ingredients instead of hand-picked produce? What does it mean to be Vulcan? 6. The nape of T’Vok’s neck was a new sight and the only bit of skin on her that was unblemished by bruises from a fight Suder had heard but hadn’t seen, tucked safely away in her quarters, writing poetry poorly and growing flowers. (From: Like Scissors to the Neck) What if we went to an alien bathhouse and I noticed you cut your hair and I wrote you poetry I'll never let you read and I kind of want to kill you and I kind of want to stay with you forever and we were both women? 7. Tuvok was aware that his fellow crewmen speculated about how he would reunite with his wife. (From: Burned into Memory - Glowing Beneath the Surface) Tuvok worries about the fact that he has issues and baggage related to the delta quadrant and he isn't the same person he was before - will T'Pel still want to be with him? 8. They were in a small room sectioned off from the rest of the temple with a heavy weaving rug. (From: The Gardener Moves Forward Through Weeds) A T'Pel-centric fic set while everyone still assumes Voyager is lost forever and its crew are dead. Thinking about Vulcan love and its dangers. Thinking about Vulcan care, how alien methods of care and emotional maintenance may differ from humans. It was fun to write love as a foreign invader. 9. Amanda’s bathroom was small to give space to the other rooms in her apartment and Sarek’s things stood starkly apart from her own, even when they were mixed together. (From: Strange Thoughts) Literally just Sarek and Amanda, young, pre-kids, fucking around. 10. “Doctor?” Kes asked, stepping into sickbay. (From: Away - to or at a Distance) Wanted to write a Kes-centric fic and for some reason decided to ALSO try out a more action focused fic? I don't know how this turned out, I'm more of a 'slice of life' or 'angst' writer but hey, it's fun to try new things! I tag anyone who wants to do it, honestly. i told myself to keep myself from ranting about my characters on here, but my brain has decided that this is my sketch and oc blog and i do not care anymore. i am LORE DROPPING EVERY SINGLE THOUGHT PROCESS AND I DO NOT CARE. at the very least its helping me gather my thoughts more by spewing it all out since i dont know how to simply write without some kinda art to accompany it so i have a topic in mind or something. thought process rant under cut, TLDR; side b is a damn mess of a character and such a fun concept to play with that i legit cannot decide on one concept for them

(quick warning, all mentions of "God" are in reference to hazbin hotel and hold no religious significance) personality wise/concept wise, i change side b a LOT, especially in RPs with character ais, which is how i kinda bounce ideas around and develop a solid concept of em. they can range from being an absolutely anxious mess, incredibly friendly and sweet (default), emotionless and empty and a buncha other stuff. Situation stuff wise also varies a lot, like the angel of equilibrium idea is what i consider their "official" story when i actually wrote the massive log of text for side B but like,, Side B has so many fun ideas to play with that it legit just depends on what im in the mood for at this point. like LOGICALLY speaking, if i wanted to put them in a universe with minimal to no interference (what i had in mind when making that lore post), then them simply being a complete bystander character who only observes and seeks understanding of every single damn action and thing is the good idea. they're social and still happy with no risk of collapse is the way i worded it.

however other concepts i've played with is them being solely confined to the void for "research" or "guarding" it with close to no visits to heaven (i actually have a traditional art comic of this one because i wanted to make cosmos and equilibrium like parallels of each other in a way, they still are parallels just not as obvious anymore) along with just ideas of simply being understanding but having to be under constant watch, being less friendly and more confined which would result in a more closed off variant of them.

i LOVE traumatizing my characters and in most situations it's either pre collapse with them being close to collapsing or post collapse side b. By collapse, i mean them being so dang stressed/confined/forced to stick to their current body with no reprieve that they literally physically cannot keep up their angelic disguise.

but like, another fun concept is that since creation they were either forced into an angelic disguise and taught/raised that's the "proper" way to be (lots of trauma involving appearance without knowing why, just general body dysmorphia), or the more fun variant is God deciding to keep this eldritch abomination in line by showing them all of his wonderful and fun and beautiful creations to the point side b gets attached, then proceeding to just casually drop the info that Dirk has the potential to destroy all of it. if you cant tell that last variant makes Side B DEEPLY afraid of themselves along with the normal body hatred thing. Alternatively, they immediately become a completely emotionless shell in hopes of not hurting anyone by becoming too emotional and losing form. But hey, if it works then it works.

Now on the topic of why would God keep an eldritch abomination that could potentially threaten all of reality, my brain tells me its because God hates erasing any of his creations if possible but talking with character ai, it actually came up with the idea that God somehow messed up SO BAD trying to recreate himself out of the literal embodiment of nothing that side b is literally bound to the void and if you erase side b, then the entire void goes with em. Which is so funny to me that i like the idea a lot and might have it only for self indulgence stuff and not placing em in other people's universes. Also my brain interprets the void as like, this whole thing that i might draw a comic of side b explaining since it is their domain. basically its just the start of everything.

rn im kinda like, combining a little of everything to make something im happy with. like,, Cosmos already has a pretty good idea and i ADORE how his personality is right now, but like Void?? damn there's SO MANY fun ideas and concepts i love to do with them that it's hard to settle on one. Side A is something i'm slowly building more and more on but Side B? HO BOY, i have not even settled on a SINGLE ONE.

most i know for certain is that i really do like side b being an absolutely cuddly and affectionate person. emotionless stuff is fun to mess around with once and awhile but overall i like my goob being sweet and loved by everyone. it'll make people seeing them as a monster hit harder too :}

I am a lil tired of rehashing the topic every time I get a random anon (not one with ask games and etc) that acts like I dont have Isaac on my pinned, or my header, or that I don't have his tag as the recommended tag on my blog, and so on so forth. I know I do not write at the speeds of many writers, I have too much irl going on, but I still have Glimpses of Teal and Auburn that I still plan to update between wips, I've been digging through old wips and finding Arthur stuff and even posted one just a couple of weeks ago.

It's. Very weird to me to send me these messages because I am having fun writing other things. I spent literal years writing primarily isaac content, and that keeps being disregarded randomly? "I miss you talking about isaac" then TALK to me about isaac! Tell me fun thoughts you had! Ask me questions about if I have a thought about Isaac and xyz subject!

The main reason I don't talk about Isaac nowadays is because the app fucking sucks lately. The collection events are not fucking worth it, the quality dropped, and I barely have the energy to play that or the games I am interested in. I usually wait until its a story event I am interested in to play Vamp, and I am waiting for the sequels to drop. I hate that I have to give Excuses but like jesus christ. I got Isaac's tiddies greeting me every morning while I get ready for the day and I get "why dont you like Isaac anymore" and I'm just like. What do you MEAN?

Because, of course, he entirely forgets about himself until a shiver ripples through him in the depths of a bunker on the front lines, close enough to hear the AA-guns and he raises a wry eyebrow, making some murmured joke that draws a laugh from the assembled soldiers, none of them quite catching the tense shoulders, hands-in-pockets, suppressed-shuddering-cold--

can we hear more about ghost hunter! gordon au? especially all of the characters

A!  OK! WOW ITS BEEN A BIT HASN'T IT-   i posted that in October and then couldn't work much on it as stuff came up and i got interested in other things so i haven't worked on much more than i had when i first drew them 

BUT I FOUND MY OLD NOTEBOOK FROM THEN WITH ALL MY NOTES!! 

i'm actually really happy someones asked me about one of my aus!

ok so  i was originally going to do something with this, it was originally going to be a little halloween treat, a blog or fic or something,  but i had some stuff going on and had to stop working on it so most of this is sort of  incomplete but its what i had, 

the story was going to be typical 'ghost hunter goes to a place thats supposedly haunted, gets trapped and finds a bunch of actual ghosts and undead, has to try and escape while uncovering more story and probably saving a couple souls from their damnation' kind of plot,

Black Mesa was a massive underground laboratory that not many knew of as it was hidden deep beneath a lesser known lab as a cover-up with Black Mesa being similar to what it is in canon where its massive and full of huge pits and pools of goop and lasers and spinning blades and massive storage rooms and-  you've all seen what Black Mesa was like. it was that but hidden underground beneath a cover-up, both abandoned around the same time. 

a LOT of deaths happened due to Black Mesas neglect, cutting of corners and just because the facility even while active was not the safest place to navigate (GIANT DROP INTO A DEEP PIT OF RADIOACTIVE GOOP)

Gordon originally went to explore the local laboratory as a Halloween Live Stream Special due to all the ghost stories surrounding it and rumours of how many of their scientists had died in there he thought it would be a great idea for a good scare,

then he ends up falling into the vastly larger hidden facility he didn't know of and has to find his way out, encountering undead both friendly and dangerous. 

Benrey is your typical floating, phasing through walls, haunting poltergeist, he can go through things but also pick stuff up and throw things, hes loud, hes annoying.

Tommy and Sunkists are more like spirits, still a ghost but also acting as more of a guardian and a protector. 

Darnold is a ghost, but doesn't realise it, he can still interact with things and unlike Benrey they can't float or phase through things.

Bubby is also a ghost, i don't know if theres an exact word for a ghost linked to water,, but i guess hes like a minecraft drowned- hes soggy. he can't phase through things but he if you tried to touch him it would be like putting your hand in water,  and he can somewhat float.

Coomer is like a zombie and somewhat of a frankensteins monster but the process of that started even long before he was dead, hes made of both flesh and metal and is really strong and solid.

and Forzen is a zombie

Gordon isn't exactly human either

like how only some had awareness of it being a game, only some of them knew they were dead; Benrey being the most aware of it and having fun with all his tricks of phasing through stuff and haunting the place even before it was fully abandoned.

 Darnold was going to be entirely unaware he was dead, going about his day as usual for years, so focused on his work in the mixology department and often leaving the department to collect leftover samples and ingredients from other departments oblivious to how empty the place is because of his strong fixation on his work-

  while others would be unaware of their passing due to having been in a more dead-like state of slumber only waking up once disturbed by Gordons presence,  Bubby would've been like this, unaware he had been gone as he slept after death until being awoken by Gordon trying to find a lightswitch in the tube room. 

i wanted to have elements or hints of how they died in their designs:

both Darnold & Bubby have stains of what killed them; Darnold having died in a mixology related accident that now stains his clothes and Bubby being covered in and dripping tube goop after he drowned due to the departments negligence.

Benrey was crushed and cut in half, a canon death he does have in the series

and Dr Coomers body eventually failed him after all of the mechanical modification and cloning. 

Forzens was probably the only death not caused by the facility or staff, but by a faulty grenade after he and a few other soldiers went to clear out the labs shortly after it was first abandoned, its unclear to him if all the skin he mended back together was originally his own or of his teammates if they too had gotten caught in the blast.

Tommy i hadn't actually given him any visible indication and that is the point, theres no visible way to tell how they died

and since i stopped working on this in October i never fully fleshed out what everyone's motives would be, so its both funny and sad to see Tommys is just "waiting for his dad to pick him up from work"

Well. I don't know how to say this. I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you wanted. I'm just... a shotacon... by design.... by nature, so, I've been 'aware' of its existence for a long time, as anything within my interests comes to be known. 'The grapevine', I suppose? I'd seen manga panels just floating around, like this, for years

I actually wrote it off initially because, while Hanako looked great, I don't actually get much out of the BL-bait-y genre haha (sordid past). I thought it was probably of a similar tenor to Black Butler, or even something like Ouran Highschool Host Club. That kind of... genre-referential humor, wackiness nonsense... as it was a shounen, probably interspersed by fighting or something... I didn't really want to bother. If I chased after every manga with some nasty black-haired boy.................. the TOILET themeing KINDOF increased the impression that it would be an onslaught of off-color gags, LOL. This image was really like, "ok, looks like he's putting a condom on his tongue, Like Those Images You Know"-- DIDN'T HELP HIS CASE!

Whenever anyone of my general interests liked it, they also treated it as a nasty manga? I guess I never observed anyone who really stanned it; anyone I knew tangentially even was like, "hot twin stuff" "skanky ghost boy" so I was like, I don't really need that ... *shrugs*

It's kinda interesting, you know, but I feel like almost all chatter misrepresented the manga? Whether it was, "it's a funny peaceful silly comedy" or "it's a dirty fuckfest", neither actually pays dues to the heartfelt, romantic, carefully woven nature of JSHK. The story itself. I agree with you, it's a masterpiece. And reading Iro's other writing, and seeing Aida + Iro's friendship over the many years (they post so many chats and convos... from their old blog to twitter), ah there's this unbelievable charm and charisma, a wonderfully infectious energy....? It's so unique. I guess all the frivolity of the manga, that's also kinda present in AidaIro's entire online presence over years, whether Aida is tattling on Iro for stealing the Bavarian cream off her parfait, or Iro's reporting a nightmare they had about a scary MILF chasing them + Aida, or Iro's mishearing Aida saying 'gingerbread' as 'ginger blood' to a cashier, or the both of them discussing what panties characters of theirs would wear, it's all heartfelt... it comes out in the manga, maybe. I'm more familiar with a typical slightly contentious Mangaka+editor relationship...

There are a ton of images and pages that I think, "I would have read this in a heartbeat if you'd only showed me this first". Aida's art alone is drop-dead gorgeous and I never saw anyone pointing to the background composition, color blocking, expressions, etc, which would have totally sold me instantaneously too... I was either seeing the most salacious caps or panels, or the more plain stuff, something funny maybe, I wasn't being shown like, this stuff.... (I know some things are more recent, just bare with me for what I have saved already to give an IDEA)

I was never given an impression it could be so loving, so careful, so impassioned, so loaded with delicate themes and symbols...

EVEN SPEAKING TO MY MOST CRUUUDE NATURE, you could have forced me to read JSHK instantly by showing me this image...............

I would have said, "I gotta-- gotta get in that," ahaha...

for the record though the nastiness is still... there, and a charm point of it all, it's just kinda fascinating it is threaded with all the heartfelt stuff. I mean Iro will be out there joking that if you tell 100 dirty stories rumor is the Molester Woman will show up. They are. Irreverent and the manga IS loaded with salacious imagery, its actually just... more, interesting, the interplay of all of this, watching it all happen. Feeling like I'm going to cry and also feeling like, baited. I do not think I have ever read anything that did both make me think and feel agony and also make me look at tied up boys. Sometimes at the same time....

Confrontation but William and Glitch-Trap (Part 2.. Kinda [There’s No Storyboards This Time])

Now, I know I technically finished what I was supposed to for my Confrontation but William vs. Glitch-Trap storyboards, but I want to ramble on about what I’ve had in mind for the rest of the song. And, since I have enough time to write my thoughts down but not enough to draw at the moment, I’ve decided to turn it into a blog post real quick. Besides, most of this is kinda rough considering Ruin isn’t even out yet. And I’m not entirely sure about the choreography in a few spots shh

This is going to probably get a little long, so I’ve put it under a “keep reading” break just in case.

So, picking up where we left off...

*William almost exits the elevator, but the door shuts. Glitch sings Hyde’s opening “monologue” as the elevator drops to the first floor of the building. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a wild-eyed “Vanny” pries the door open with her bare hands as Glitch’s voice triumphantly claims victory... One minute and a half into a four minute song.

*Anyway, the first main argument starts up as William removes Vanny from Glitch’s control and faces him properly. Almost want to say that most of this from here on out flickers between altered memories from both Glitch and Will. Like, when it’s Will’s turn to sing at one point, he turns into Mr. Burrows from the Pizzaplex books and starts slamming an equally disguised Glitch. Or Glitch activates the springs on Will’s Bonnie suit himself just to emotionally stun the man. Idk I’m just in the mood to pull a literal memory fight and get crazy with the fight scene.

*So, after all that trying to hijack each other’s minds (well... if that rabbit has a mind), Glitch manages to take the upper hand and forcibly returns the pair back to reality. As if to add insult to the injuries he’s most likely dishing out, he sends our ghost boy William allll the way back to the Blob hybrid with no way to escape again. William is obviously both very tired and very unhappy now as Glitch tauntingly floats into the room and does his trademark “arms in the air” dance.

*However, as the song winds down to its crescendo, William uses the hybrid to his advantage. He snatches Glitch up with wiry tentacles, insisting that he’s no longer the man this insane strand of code idolized. Unfortunately for him, Glitch is too stubborn to admit that sort of thing— Even going so far as to admit that he is William’s literal darker half by default.

*As a last ditch effort, William initiates some sort of “self-destruct” as he screams for Glitch to go rot somewhere (since, you know, the glitchy bunny can’t actually die). Glitch yells back with absolute pride: “I’ll see you there, Afton!” as new flames start to rise higher and higher.

*While Vanny, Gregory, and anyone else who managed to survive the entire DLC make a break for it, William gets literally dragged down by his two worst (though unintended) creations. Is it a metaphor for what’ll happen to his soul? Is it just a final attack from Glitch-Trap? Gonna be honest and say that I have no idea until Ruin comes out.

*Of course, this version is taking into account stuff from the Tales from the Pizzaplex books. If I wanted to just stick to the games entirely, then I could still use the memory segment in a different way (ie. Jeremy’s story from Help Wanted as a flashback for Glitch). Also, this would mean that Glitch would be implied to be more like an actual Edward Hyde for William rather than a rouge computer program pretending to be William. (Sorry if this part doesn’t make sense, but I just realized that I forgot to explain where I got half of Glitch’s characterization from for this.)

*The only reason why I didn’t mention Ruin Girl at all in this is because she’s already left the main building by this point. For all she knows, Vanny and Greg just left the mall only for Vanny to suddenly run back in at breakneck speeds... Only for them to reemerge a couple of minutes later as the entire place burns down again. Wow, nobody is catching a break today. Not even anyone smart enough to be in the parking lot.

*If I do continue this at some stage, let me make this clear: William should be in his official Ruin/actually human design rather than the partially 8-bit form I drew in the initial storyboards. That 8-bit form was just a placeholder, after all.

*Side note: Glitch sounding like Springtrap is a bit “cursed” to me, not gonna lie. It’s like Glitch finally learned to sound a bit more like the monster everyone dreads and he’s running with that new voice-bank. On the bright side, at least Jekyll’s voice fits William pretty well.

And I think that’s pretty much all I’ve got. Hope my rough outline didn’t sound too haphazard..

it's really too ambiguous so i guess it's mostly that there's nothing really to theorize per se, especially since in the next page Allen remembers a bit of Nea, so i would assume the "?" we all had turned into "oh it's probably one of the Campbell twins".

But mhmm i'm rereading the bit and yeah, considering Nea introduces himself in his memory on the next page it could be probably someone whom Allen knew before that time.

And as a "PastA was a Bookman apprentice" truther, i do feel like his clothes there are reminiscent of what young!Lavi used to wear as well.

Honestly i could perhaps see Bookman Senior being the one holding him like that. Like.... I feel like we can interpret everything we want about that but i feel like Bookman Senior particularly reminding Lavi to not form attachment and even being a bit cold toward him at times could be direct reactions from the reasons he lost his previous apprentice. What if he was too soft with his previous apprentice, what if it made the apprentice care too much about the people making history so much so it got him involved? As such, i could imagine it be Bookman Sr genuinely being emotional with PastA, the type of affection that doomed him, and that now Bookman Sr is less willing to give out.

Or, like you said, it could be anyone else. A parent, a friend, anything. I could imagine it being a family member of some kind though, considering how much this arc is specially about Allen getting adopted by Mana and how much Nea still haunts him. In a sense Nea is the thing that keeps getting in between Allen and his family, so to have this flashback interrupted by Nea could be an extension of that, of the family he turned his back on when Nea entered his life.

Tbh i'm still thinking and haunted by this arc specifically because well, I was there Gandalf ect, i was there when dgm was at the height of its popularity in 2008/2009, i remembered how many shounen fans were really into the saga and would be widely homophobic to the notion of any of those characters being possibly gay, and i remember very, very clearly the moment the plot point of Alma being Kanda's love interest dropped, unambiguously, and how much of an uproar it was. I remember people jumping ship THERE, before the manga even went on hiatus.

And i swear i remember Hoshino mentioning that her health really started to become worse when she had to fight her editors for what she wanted, and that the Alma arc was one of those. She had to set it up in such a way that her editors couldn't take it away from her, by having Kanda set up on finding Alma early in the story, building up the Alma arc, and only then later in the arc going ":) well Alma is the love Kanda is looking for. And i can't take it back without ruining this entire arc. so what do we do."

and it DID cost to the series at this point, it WAS something that got a lot of pushbacks.

Nowadays i feel like Hoshino is probably more free to do whatever she wants, esp since there's been more casually gay rep in shounen ever since, but at the time, i remember it causing a huge stir in the fanbase.

And hell i remember at the time the people who were translating the manga after it got out of hiatus in 2015 or so was a huge popular manga website where a lot of casual shounen readers were tuning in, and i still remember seeing hundreds of homophobic takes in the comments at the time, especially regarding Kanda. A lot of casual shounen fans have completely wrote of the series because Hoshino "let her BL lenses stain the series" and that therefore for them they can only read the newer dynamics with that lenses, especially when Kanda is involved.

(and it doesn't help Kanda was like. THE symbol of masculinity for the guys i met in the shounen fandoms at the time. The fact he was the one who got this plotline got them PISSED because they were projecting this idea on Kanda and i could still see it in the mid 10s.)

I think Hoshino is well happy writing Shounen, but she doesn't mind also talking about any sort of love into it, she did mention she wanted to show what her definition of love (in all of its form, not just romantic) was in her story, so i think it's an extension of that. But Hoshino did pretty much fight for Kanda to have his relationship with Alma. I'm honestly inclined to believe Alma had to die as a compromise to the fact she basically set up a lovestory her editors could not possibly cut.

But her editors causing her problems have been at the root of any clunky dgm plotpoints anyway. The Destroyer of Time's prophecy came from her editors. Allen was a transwoman in the first draft and was changed to a cisguy because her editors argued "no one would care if a female MC was to cry, so we need Allen to be a boy for it to count". her editors told her to cut down appearances of the Earl while Hoshino always wanted to have him as a main character (which is likely why now that she has more freedom thanks to her new deal, we've been getting full arcs focusing on him). Her editors pushed her to change Lenalee away from the character she wanted her to be. So long and so forth.

Honestly i still look back at the Alma arc in awe because it truly was Hoshino putting her foot down and making sure her editors would not be able to change her vision this time and i still admire it.

but man sometimes i mourn for the story DGM could have been if the editors haven't constantly been restraining her. Obviously, there's always moment an editor helps out in pacing a story or helping some focus, but with dgm you can sense on some point how some elements just. didn't really help out Hoshino's vision and it's so sad.

Nowadays it seems her editors are giving her more freedom, and it's about time. It's just so damn sad that it came when her health has become too fragile because of the constant strain that has been on her in part because of her old editors.

I for one am looking forward to see where it's going and i will be patient, but yeah. Can't wait to see how that goes either.

In less than a week, I’ve been ghosted by Kathy for no apparent reason, and Chris—someone I always thought was smart and had a great sense of humor—went completely unethical on me and then bit my head off for agreeing with him. I went over our exchange again and I must really be missing something, or maybe he's losing it, because I don’t see what set him off. I don't care, but at the same time, I'm naturally curious about understanding things. I’ve sensed for a while that he hasn’t been happy, so maybe his mental state is a factor. His writing was full of anger, but as I said, I do understand and agree with what he was saying. That’s why his lashing out at me came as such a shock.

Nonetheless, I am so sick of trying to figure out what makes people tick. You think you're intuitive and good with people, then realize you don’t know a damn thing. Fuck humanity! I'm totally not open to making new friends. Tracking blog visitors has become less reliable since more people are either hiding or appearing where they’re not. Still, while I appreciate anyone’s curiosity I’m not up for chatting unless you're someone I’m already friends with. I’ve disabled comments everywhere except for friends on LJ. I’m still on the fence about my PB accounts—should I continue as I have, make them private, friends-only, or just delete them altogether? I don’t want to regret it if I delete them, but I don’t think I’ll be using them much anymore. I’ll finish the bio and maybe the rest of the month, but I might start doing monthly updates instead and just drop in a whole month at a time.

I always thought I’d feel more comfortable on privately owned sites, but I don’t. I’d rather stick to ones run by big companies where the personal feelings and preferences of those in charge don’t get in the way. What Chris did was so messed up. He can go shove his crooked nose right up his ass.

We're finally getting lows in the 60s, and next week might even dip into the 50s. One downside to returning to the desert is dealing with hotter summers and colder winters, but it’ll be worth it. Still not sure if we’ll be able to pull it off, though. We’ve set a five-year deadline, and if we’re still here in 2030, this place will have been our longest stay. Tom will be in his early 70s then, and unless a hurricane demolishes it, we'll probably live out the rest of our lives here. Yes, I hate it when the snowbirds return, but I’ll at least enjoy it when they leave.

Walmart still isn’t delivering, so Tom went just before 7:00 a.m., and it was a nightmare. He said it felt like a zombie apocalypse—tons of cars lined up, the store jam-packed, and this was early morning. Half the shelves were empty, and it was chaos. He’d rather pay more and shop at Publix like a normal human being where it’s not a madhouse. He said there were only a few loaves of bread left, and they were torn.

His tinnitus has been acting up lately, but we’re not sure why.

I can't figure out why my bangs are growing so slowly. The rest of my hair is growing but my bangs are taking forever to grow out long enough to pull back.

I hope my crown getting ready to fall out again, because sometimes when I bite down, it feels a little funny.

I have what should be my final CVS order on its way, thanks to my free quarterly benefits. It’s just basic stuff like pain relievers and anti-itch cream.

I’m also getting another patterns coloring book. I think I like coloring patterns the most because there are no rules. Sure, anyone can color an apple any color they want, but it still feels weird to color one blue or purple. When I think of apples, I think red or green.

I love that Google Docs added tabs! Now instead of dumping a whole story into one long doc like Word, I can organize each chapter into its own tab—kind of like how Prosebox does books with multiple posts representing each chapter.

Lately, I’ve been trying to organize my files better. I’ve got notes and docs scattered all over—Outlook Notes, Google Docs, blogs, Word, etc.—so I’m grouping things to make them easier to find.

Lastly, I had AI make me a simple, dark silhouette of a female head to use on PB. I’ll keep it indefinitely since it doesn’t clash with the background.
