"Enemy behind you!" you shout to Blue through your mic, maneuvering your character to take out the others congregating on his location. Blue's character deftly kills the ones closest to him and helps you take out the others nearby, finishing the last round of the game. You breathe a happy sigh of relief as you watch the cutscene where your team is extracted from the area, congratulating the others before backing out of the lobby with Blue. "Good job! You're a natural at these games Blue." 

Exercising with Blue everyday could only get your friendship so far, and when you learnt that him and his brother had other numerous consoles to play, you jumped at the opportunity to get him into some of the ones you were enjoying at the moment. Namely one space faring rpg that had you saving the world from an extinction level event that would wipe out every species from the universe. To say Blue had taken a shining to it would be an understatement; he loved it. He's been playing it with you as often as possible, pulling you into the game whenever you popped online. Some people may find it annoying, but you love hanging out with Blue; he always finds a way to cheer you up when you're having a less than stellar day. 

"You Did An Amazing Job Taking Out Those Enemies At The End; I Would Have Failed The Mission If Not For You Willow!" You, amazing? Pshhhhh, he's just being nice. Okay so maybe you're blushing a tiny bit from the praise, nobody is here to see it though besides Shadow, but he's oblivious to the world right now sunbathing. Do you….. compliment him back? That'd be the nice thing to do, you think. 

"Your, uh, your gun skills were pretty neat out there; those enemies didn't stand a chance!" Oh my god, did that sound as cringy as you think it did? Oh god, where's the nearest hole to climb into and hide for all of eternity….

"Willow? Is Everything Alright?" You snap out of it as Blue's voice registers in your ear, and it's like you're a deer in the headlights. What do you say? Is everything alright? You don't, you don't know what to do, so you just say the first thing that comes to mind—

"—I LIKE YOU BLUE!" you shout into the mic, voice raising in pitch halfway through like you're going through puberty. Ok this is fine, you're fine, you didn't want to hold it in anyways, it's not like you want to scream right now but you're holding it back because Blue hasn't said anything yet, why hasn't he said anything yet? All you can hear is some muffled voices in the background like Blue is talking to someone and you sure as hell hope it isn't his brother because that would be the most embarrassing thing to happen on top of what you just did. 

The mic rustles as Blue does something on the other end and then he's speaking but you're trying not to freak out right now, so you just hold your breath. "D-Do You Mean It? It—This Isn't A Joke, Willow?" Oh my god he sounds so goddamn cute, and also sad and it's just breaking your heart to hear him like this, how could he ever think what you were saying is a joke? Has someone actually done that to him? It makes your blood boil to think someone could do that to this kind, sweet, energetic skeleton that would die for his friends. 

"YES! I mean, no, it's not a joke! I, uh-hhhh, I r-really like you!" You're so nervous your armpits are sweating like there's no tomorrow and you were squeaking out every other word, how is he taking this? You might shrivel up and die on the spot if he makes fun of you, but you know he wouldn't do that he's the nicest being that could ever exist but your brain is being an asshole right now and betraying you. 

The next thing you hear is Blue whooping so loud you need to jerk your headset away from your face and listen to him start rambling a mile a minute to who this is Stretch? "—PAPY SHE SAID SHE LIKE LIKED ME, QUICK WHERE'S MY NOTEBOOK I NEED TO START PLANNING THE PERFECT DATE! NO, PAPY, NOT THE DATING MANUAL THAT'S FOR BABYBONES, YES I KNOW THERE'S A QUARANTINE!—" He keeps going and you're just so relieved that he likes you too you just start laughing and can't stop and there's tears running down your face from how much you're laughing and how happy and relieved you are. 

"Willow!" Blue startles you with how abruptly he's back on the mic you suck in air the wrong way and you're coughing into the mic in response. "Mweh Heh Heh, I Didn't Know That's All It Would Take To Make You Breathless! But! Putting That Aside! I Would Love To Officially Become Your Bone-Friend! That's The Only Pun You'll Get Out Of Me For Now, Papy, Stop Eavesdropping!" You're giggling at his antics and can't believe this is how your day would turn out. I mean, hell, this is probably the best day ever! 

"H-hah…….oh my god. Yes, I would love for you to be my Bone-Friend, Blue." Now you're both giggling at the pun, and honestly, you couldn't see yourself without this silly video-game playing skeleton by your side.

Roman and Patton have recently moved into the area, after some coaxing from Remus to move farther away from the rest of their family. It’s a decent part of town with a good school system, so Roman agrees. 

He takes Pat to school, and immediately gay panics over his hot Elementary School teacher. His first thought is “be smooth, go ask him out” but as he approaches him he realizes not only is this very inappropriate for the setting (asking someone out, like a teacher or a waitress, who is currently doing their job and required to be nice to you, is a little rude,) but he’s also stupid flustered and has no idea what to say. 

He panics when he reaches Logan, introduces himself as Patton’s father, and pretends he was coming to talk about said small boy. He tells Logan he’s worried -- and, honestly, he was -- that Pat would have trouble making friends, since they just moved here. Logan, after watching Patton run around for about three seconds, doesn’t see where this worry is coming from, but he proposes a plan nonetheless.

Another kid in the class has been having trouble making friends. He’s not a bad kid, but he’s a chronic liar, and the other kids avoid him a lot. Logan points him out to Roman, and Roman sees a young boy with vitiligo patches on the left side of his face, sitting backwards in a chair and smirking at the table of kids in front of his. He doesn’t look particularly shy or lonely, but Roman knows all too well how looks can be deceiving, and trusts Logan’s judgement.Logan explains he is personal friends with Eden and his father, and bubbly little Patton could be a good influence on Eden, and Logan trusts Eden to make sure Patton is treated kindly. Roman is honestly relieved, and calls Patton over. He gives him a big bear hug, and hints to his little puffball that ‘that kid over there looks a little lonely sitting by himself, why don’t you go talk to him?’At first, Roman is confident in his decision. He can be sure Pat will be fine under Logan’s supervision, he’s already made a friend, and now Roman has an excuse to talk to Logan more regularly, to discuss the kids. Patton and Eden quickly become best friends, and them and two other kids that share their table -- Remy and Emile -- become a very adorable little group of troublemakers.Eden isn’t too bad either -- Eden’s father is busy a lot of the time, which Roman understands, as a fellow single dad, and Logan does a daycare after school, so when Roman comes to pick up Pat, he spares a few minutes to hang out with the two and let them tell him about their days. Eden is surprisingly snarky for a kid their age, but he really seems to respect Patton. As far as Logan tells him, Eden used to casually curse like an adult, but Patton got him to stop, which is a good first step (he got plenty of practice with his uncle Remus, after all).

Of course, Eden’s snark started rubbing off on Pat, too. They and their friend Remy started playing pranks on the other students every so often -- its always harmless, and Patton and Emile smooth everything over afterword with their friendliness, but that didn’t stop Remus from insisting Patton was going to ‘join the dark side with him.’ 

Sometimes, Eden will whisper something to Pat, and they’ll both laugh and chance glances at Logan or Roman. They are kids, so it must be harmless, but man, Roman wish he knew what those little schemers are thinking.

“At first,” of course, is the key phrase. It was a very nice little setup, though Roman couldn’t help but be curious about Eden’s father. Eden clearly adored his dad, but Roman had to admit, he was uneasy at the idea of a man who would let his eleven-year-old cuss like a sailor, sass his teachers, and kick his feet up on tables. Still, Roman held off judgement, since he had yet to meet him. Sometimes, when Roman would come home late, Patton would talk about how nice Mr. Blake was -- he would sit with them for a few minutes so Eden could show him the work they did together in class, and Patton insisted he was very polite and kind. He let that sooth his worries, remembering also that Logan said they were best friends. How could Logan’s best friend be a bad person? Logan was smart and handsome and amazing, of course he only knew the best people.And then, one day, Roman and his brother came to pick up his little happy patty, and Roman saw a familiar face sitting in one of those tiny chairs next to him and Eden. He realized, with horror, why the last name Blake had sounded so familiar.Virgil Blake. His old schoolmate, from middle-through-high school. The outcast, anxious, very nerdy, very gay Virgil Blake that Roman used to relentlessly bully over those same characteristics. I.. I’m kind of at a loss for words. I’m. That’s it, huh? It’s really over. It doesn’t FEEL over. There’s so much unfinished business. Well, the only way to really neatly wrap everything up as neatly as S1 did would have been to get ALL THE WAY through the Garou arc, which obviously wasn’t going to happen, but this is not a great spot to leave off if we’re going to endure another few years hiatus. My hope is that, with biweekley manga updates, we should wrap up the Monster Association/Garou stuff (assuming it doesn’t diverge from the web comic too much) some time next year, and I’m HOPING that s3 is already being planned accordingly along side manga publications. So MAYBE it will at least be announced around that time 2020. That’s my wishful thinking at least. I don’t think I can survive 3 years. anyway

You could really tell JC Staff poured their hearts and souls into these last 2 episodes. Absolutely gorgeous, paced well, so completely satisfying and making every second of s2 worth while. For me, at least. I’ve already seen people still complaining and I’m just sorry they didn’t have as much fun as I did. 

Seriously, thank each and every one of you guys. This has been a wild ride, I’ve barely had this blog a few weeks before season 2 started airing (and honestly just got into opm maybe a month before that?), so I owe a lot of the success on the blog to the anime I bet. This was the first series I’ve never tried live bogging, and I honestly can’t believe that they were as popular as they were? Especially since I never have any idea what I’m doing but yall listen to me ramble anyway?? Yall are crazy thank you so so so much. Now my tuesdays are gonna feel really empty… next week is gonna be weird as hell. ferdinand also acts as something of a voice of conscience amongst the black eagles; it is ferdinand, after all, who proposes the idea of widespread education, and ferdinand who reminds lorenz of their duty to their people. so, i get the feeling that you guys might have similar values? but i could also be jumping the gun there so hhhhhh

he’d really admire how ready and willing you were to help people, and he’d try and emulate that in himself!! he wants to use his noble status to help commoners (and very much sees that as his duty), so he’d genuinely appreciate another compassionate perspective

i get the vibe from your profile that you’d do a pretty good job at navigating nobility and politicians (particularly how you’re very good at reading people and the fact that you’re very polite), so i think that’s also something he’d really appreciate about you; it just makes his job that little bit easier
