really funny plot hole-though-not-really from that fic i wrote a couple months ago:

regis discovers legitimate plot to assassinate geralt and doesn’t warn him of it. doesn’t even drop hints. he knows that geralt is probably going to get his ass jumped in the next month or so, and just… lets it happen.

but i wrote it like this intentionally. because i believe regis assessed the level of risk, from whom he saw and felt, and didn’t predict anyone there to be able to overpower geralt. a bit prideful of his witcher. knowing that geralt would probably come out with the upper hand, no matter what they ended up pulling on him.

then a month later, geralt comes back to the palace storming in with his face black-and-blue, and regis is like wow. let’s sit and you can tell me about this. and geralt’s like why, can’t we just leave already? and regis makes geralt tell him about it. because he knows he was right. and then it turns out he was. haha
