Without going to much into it, everything has been unfathomably horrid recently in the world and in my personal life (the AO3 curse is real I stg). Concussion, family emergency after family emergency, worst depressive episode in years, some other really major shit I don't feel comfortable even expressing in vague terms.

the  afternoon  sun  is  barely  emerging  from  behind  the  clouds. kugrash  blinks  hard,  his  eyes  adjusting  from  the  dark  sewers  to  the  thin  winter  daylight. with  some  effort,  he  places  the  cover  back  over  the  manhole  from  which  he  came. to  begin  his  afternoon  routine,  he  weaves  through  the  dense  crowd:  dodging  briefcases,  dress  shoes,  heels,  and  sneakers;  skittering  around  bike  wheels;  avoiding  a  dog’s  line  of  sight. as  kugrash  moves  through  the  crowd,  he  hands  packaged  food  to  the  bundled,  tired  folk  upon  the  sidewalk.

a  familiar  voice  pricks  up  his  ears. “hey!”  he  tries  to  raise  his  voice  over  the  din. “wh—what  ‘nice  man’  gave  you  that?  lemme  see,”  his  paws  close  around  the  candy.  arcane  steam  curls  between  his  fingers  and  pours  onto  the  pavement  below,  reminiscent  of  the  steam  wafting  from  manhole  covers  across  the  city  streets.  he  doesn’t  sense  any  enchantment  nor  poison  on  the  small,  unassuming  sweet.  maybe  then  it’s  safe  to— kugrash  looks  up  to  see  ylfa  chewing.  he  smiles  in  spite  of  himself. “i’d  be  careful  takin’  candy  from  strangers  next  time. okay,  strawberry?”  

he  regards  the  candy  for  a  moment.  kugrash  hasn’t  eaten  anything  sweet  in  a  long  time. the  food  that  passes  through  the  sewers  ranges  from  expired  to  inedible.  the  freshest  food  is  set  aside  for  the  homeless  communities  with  which  kugrash  is  familiar.  “nah,  kid.”  he  presses  it  back  into  her  hands.  “too  much  sugar  for  rats.  bad  for  our  stomachs. you  enjoy  it.”

So I’m just now getting into Critical Role with the release of Calamity and very overwhelmed as to where to start (do I need to watch the hundreds of hours of content from start to finish?? If someone can suggest how to go about that, that would be great) but I decided to watch the Legend of Vox Machina.

“I think,” Eddie declares, bursting into the room making his way to where Steve is laying on his bed. He’s relaxed against some pillows and has a magazine in his hands.

“Oh no” Steve blandly, flipping a page. Eddie flops on top of him, making the other yelp. Shuffling until he was comfortable, Steve holds the magazine up out of the way. He settles when he’s laying on Steve’s chest, chin perched on folded arms to look up at him.

“Rude” he huffs. “I think, that baby Byers has a crush on Gareth.”

That makes his boyfriend actually put down the magazine. “Your drummer?” He hums an affirmative. “He’s too old for Will!”

Protective Mama bear mode activated. Eddie laughs to himself. “Not to worry dear, Gareth has no interest. But it’s good news!”

“Will liking older men is not good news”

“He’s not that much older. And you say that like he hasn’t crushed on you” the magazine makes a return, rolled up to slap the top of Eddie’s head. “Ow.”

“Explain to me how this is a good thing.”

“It means he’s at least a little over Wheeler! He’s expanding his pallet. It’s a cause for celebration.”

“How did you even figure this out?”

“It was subtle,” he grins impishly “at first. A few glances during Hellfire Meetings, nothing to write home about. But the kiddos came to the garage to see us practice today.”

Steve sighs despairingly “And he was enchanted by the drummer”

A delighted laugh at his word choice springs from Eddies mouth. “Exactly that.”

“We should talk to him”

“We can. But don’t you want to see the baby gay in action before we do? It’d be so cute when it’s not so painful like how it was with mike”

System information

We have been aware of one another's presence for a majority of our life, though we only found out about DID and all the terminology 5 years ago

As stated in many parts of our blog, we have documented 37 alters, though we are aware of many others existences, so we will continue to add a plus at the end of that statistic to represent our unknown peeps

While we're aware that the most commonly used terminology for system members are personalities, alters, or parts, we may more often use things like headmate, peep, or even a term we made up as a child, echo. It's just what feels comfortable, we apologize if this causes any inconvenience

Some alters listed don't front as often or as long as others. Some would like to spend their time out enjoying other things besides tumblr. Please remember that we do have a life outside of the internet

We often deal with trauma holders and persecutors, if you see a post without any identification tag, then we ask you please keep scrolling until someone deletes it (exceptions are someone not having an identification tag yet, or forgetting to add one, we should have it fixed soon (• ▽ •;) ). There's various reasons for this, one being that certain parts are too vulnerable to be online, others being privacy. If you see a post like this, please be respectful and don't screenshot it.

We have many non-human parts and a handful of introjects. You are free to ask about anything related to that, we love to share our experiences, but if we state we're uncomfortable answering then please respect that and don't pry further.

Council of Ilnmyr – Chapter one

(Please note, my lore concept was in the works before FR introduced Ancient breeds, but for clarity, The ‘old’ dragons are now in the role of Modern Ancients and Gaolers and every other Ancient breed that is henceforth released shall be referred to as True Ancients in my stories.)

Murdoch let the smell of rain on the stones enter his nostrils on this autumn morning, the grey skies above him pouring with water from the heavens. The ancient's conclave was quiet this time of day, the sun behind the clouds only just rising over the sea.

The conclave was in reality an ancient keep, built and abandoned by those who came before, in reverence of the Eleven, on what was then neutral grounds. These days their keep stood on the southern borders of the Arcane flight's territory, but the area was out of the way of the trade routes and thus wasn't overly crowded. Not that the gates weren't open to those seeking guidance, as that was the main purpose of the Modern Ancients these days.

Modern Ancient dragons were dragons blessed by the deities themselves. Only four Modern Ancients existed at present, each embodying different aspects. Murdoch embodied War and Valour, and stood at the head of the Council of Ancients with his brother and two sisters. Their role was to stand guard against threats that concerned  dragonkind, and to convey the will of the deities through the worshipping of their shrines. Once, they also guarded the lore of old, but much of that has worn away with time and was forgotten, even by those who lived to see it. Together the conclave ruled over the keep and the surrounding lands, their gates open to weary travelers and pilgrims from the furthest regions of the world.

This morning didn't exactly beg many visitors however, so the Keep was all quiet. A fine morning for some training excersizes. Murdoch opened the great doors of the Ancients' Keep, intending to cross the courtyard and head towards the arena, but halfway through the circular courtyard he noticed something quivering in a dark corner, attempting to hide but catching Murdoch's eye none the less.

When he approached he saw a trembling ball of fur, hidden away in one of the chapel alcoves that were built all around the courtyard. At first he thought it was a small tundra dragon, but upon closer inspection, its horns looked different, more gnarled, and the fur was thicker, messier than on any tundra he had ever seen.

“Hey there little one, are you alright?” Murdoch stepped closer, the little furball snapping it's tiny head up to look at him. Bright red eyes peered up into his, surrounded by pools of darkness, with only a small dot for pupils. Murdoch froze and looked closer at the hatchling, that was still sticky with membrane from its egg.

He'd never seen anything like this strange dragon, that was still shivering, either with fear or cold or perhaps both.

“Can you speak?” Murdoch asked, but immediately realized he was a fool to ask. It had only just hatched, after all. The hatchling blinked slowly and then let loose a squeak, trying to stand. Murdoch reached for it, the hatchling so small compared to his claws he was very ginger when he picked it up and brought it to his face. The hatchlings nails clawed into his scales, fearful of falling. It squealed frightfully and tried to hide in its own fur.

“It's alright, little one. Let's get you inside.” Murdoch smiled comfortingly and carefully carried the child back inside, to his private quarters where he sat it in front of the fire to warm up. While keeping one eye on the hatchling he sought through the books he had in his room for a clue to what this dragon might be. He had an extensive personal library, stacked in huge bookcases along the walls of his chambers, but there didn't appear to be any record of a dragon like it, at least not here.

He was interrupted in his search, feeling something tickling on his left leg. When he looked down he saw the hatchling, rubbing up to his ankles like a cat, while making a small peeping noise, not unlike a baby chicken.

“What is it?” Murdoch brought his head down, not really knowing why because he knew the hatchling would not answer, but he still felt compelled to turn his attention to it.

A communicative squeak and a wide open mouth alerted Murdoch to the fact the hatchling probably needed sustenance. He scooped it back up, put it on his back and took it to the kitchens, the hatchling seeming more secure on its feet now, looking around with wide eyes. It appeared mostly recovered from its ordeal outside, warmed up and its fur no longer wet, though it was still slightly shaggy. It felt very warm on Murdoch's back, the long fur bristling over his scales.

He got a few leftovers from the kitchen, mushing them to small pieces so the hatchling could eat it. The little one picked through the food and seemed to prefer the meat and the plants Murdoch had given him, though it did curiously sniff at the fish and the insects too. Murdoch wasn't going to force the issue, he was just glad that it appeared to be doing well, eating it's little heart out.

He sat and watched it eat, mesmerized by the tiny dragon, that seemed to have more fur than it could possibly ever need. With some reluctance he realized that he should really bring it to their orphanage, so it could be raised amongst other dragons, but found himself not wanting to. He was curious about this little one, that was so different from any other dragon he'd ever seen.

The hatchling was done eating and purred contently as it strutted towards Murdoch with a wobbly stride. Murdoch chuckled and lowered his head, out of instict more than anything, the hatchling rubbing fondly against his jaw. If he hadn't known for sure before that point, he knew it now. He wasn't going to take this hatchling to the orphanage. He would raise it as his own.

All he needed now was a name for the hatchling, wracking his brain as he brought the hatchling back to his room, where it curled up in Murdoch's nesting space as if it owned it. Murdoch smiled and laid down next to it as he heard the keep outside finally come to life. It'd only been an hour since he found this little thing, but the connection he felt to it was real, and seemed much older than an hour.

“Azar.” Murdoch mumbled, thoughtfully. That would be its name. The hatchling yawned and made a soft peeping noise, almost as if in approval before resting its head on Murdoch's claw. Yes, Azar was a good name. A powerful name. Befitting of a child of the Ancients.

probably a mage? because blue space magic is her jam. though she’s actually more of a combat & tech. she was like well rounded in that regard so i’m considering iunno??? battlemage maybe w/ lockpicking who knows. she’s a sneaky mage that can stab u real good.

would probably also assume she’s pretty good as inquisitor because she would treat it as her role and thing she still has to bare and takes it seriously. like nova is no nonsense as inquisitor but absolute nonsense when she’s not playing that role lmao. 

Morgan; mage?? human af ye. defo a noble blood t BH. 

i unno man. iunno. is he a mage? yeah probably. would he be a legit battlemage + arcane warrior? probably. Would i say he uses a real sword? pro b ab ly. like listen he’s a beefy mage who wears normal armor and probably looks like a fckn non mage but bOOM SUDDENLY LIGHTNING FROM HIS HAND W H AT

Eludysia; ngl i unno if she’s old old but she’s Old. Old seer lady. 

honestly i think she’s not gonna have much of a da verse in general but it exists enough that i feel like i should cover it here. but essentially she’s an old elf seer in rivain. leader of a port side town. No chantry or qunari around its a lot of elves tho. refugees and what not from kirkwall and stuff. 

i unno if she’s an ancient elf but i know she’s old. like real old. so who knows

if she is ancient she probably woulda been like a priestess to ?? falon’din or dirthamen??? because seer shit but like even in a current state she’s fairly devoted to on e o f them or both? probably both lmao. so it’s w/e. 

she’s the former keeper of the clan revas got sent to, which is where revas’ mom is also from and how she gets to that clan. but she was keeper of the clan for like.. a long time like a long time. like that bald fuck from da:o  but without plaguing people with a curse. iunno how she did it but magic and better than that shit. 

more important if revas is inquisitor because lmao she’d probably be like.. welp im gonna come guide you?? probably.   shit she’s probably like emerald knights old tho shit but no fuckin!!! probably comes to be an advisor. 

i think if u go revas as commander/advisor or inquisitor in a thread eludysia’s probs gonna show up and be like sup  but otherwise she’s mainly just a contact in rivain for info and resources!! no special quest or anything u can just contact her for stuff. 

Warren; half-elf, half-qunari. big man w/ a bow.

&& a thick af accent let’s be real here. 

i haven’t made a post about his shit yet so! this one might be a lil longer!! 

grew up in/around starkhaven. in an alienage somewhere really! but he’s got that starkhaven accent. probably just fumbled his way there because honestly he got fucking ditched by his people and has no idea who his parents are lmao. just knows his mom died during child birth and he was fuckin cursed essentially via his?? clan or something. that qunari bit of him is real obvious as his horns grew out and probably had a harsh life in an alienage. 

because he’s not an elf. but he’s not human. and he’s not a qunari. so he’s just. him. 

eventually falls in with some ppl who teach him to steal. so he does a lot and then gets busted and they fckn break his horns off and chop his ears!!! and throw him the fuck out. as you do. but they taught him to use a bow so he’s good with that. and knives. good at close quarters and a long range.

gets better with a bow. real top knotch stuff. ends up in a mercenary crew (same one as qunari inquisitor? probably.) enjoys his merc lifestyle ya know has a good time killin shit 

anyways. companion warren is p much like ‘Strength & force.’ because he has no tact and doesn’t care about politics. like one day i’ll have his approval / disapproval shit. but today is not that day.

but the same applies to his inquisitor shit. he’s fucking brutal as an inquisitor. cares about the little people but FUCK the rich. takes the well for himself ( tho if i would also say revas is there bc i can and she’d take it) but generally just!! give him power and let him kill shit!! that’s all he cares about. tho he wouldn’t kill samson or calpernia bc he doesn’t see them as enemies or villains truly? just pawns in a big scheme and he’d probably stare corypheus in the face and be like get fucked you saggy fuck

Revas: Keeper. Dreamer. Dalish elf. 

literally like most people know Revas’ Dragon Age basics!! but if you don’t i’ll just direct you to her old blog, so you know what’s up.  i’ll put it into a summary the best i can tho! 

Backstory: short and simple? #fucked.  expanded? she was born to the lavellan clan to one of the head hunters & warriors. ended up having magic so she was sort of training to become second, or first, till her moms old clan was like hey we need a new first so uhhhh help us out. and they traded some goods and revas went on her way. ended up being a fucked up situation where the previous first was murdered by two clanmates who eventually tried ( and did) murder revas but she came back bc lmao spirit help & ended up killing them and leaving for her actions.

Dragon Age: Awakening:  full page about it Takes place shortly after this event happened. she lived on her own for awhile, protecting people as much as she could from darkspawn during the blight. ends up going to the wardens because someone doesn’t appreciate her help since she’s a Mage.     The choices made by the warden in regards to her effect how she becomes a warden and the rest of the timeline. Sort of a branch off feel. highly recommend taking a look at the page and also this post. 

DA 2:  If not in the Awakening verse, Revas travels around to the clans. becoming a traveling keeper & helping the clans the best she can. As well as finding ruins and exploring man memories from lost objects. Eventually finds her way to Kirkwall to actually speak with Merrill. But some other shenanigans play out and some stuff goes down. Ends up helping in the fight at the end and leaving with Zevran ( @allurfavesrqueer‘s zevran only lmao. )

DA:I     Companion: Shows up in fereldan with some tree peeps. gets some elvhen shit. offers her services to the inquisition bc that’s what her spirit told her to do. and ya know real fucky. shares some approvals as solas but usually has some pretty contrasting opinions on things! Will defo take on the role of like older sibling or sibling figure with the inquisitor if they’re close enough. Be kind to elves & mages and you’re good.  ( also she’s an option to take the well if the inquisitor doesn’t want it) 

   Advisor: Takes up an offer by the inquistor to become an advisor which is more or less her using her network with the elves around the countries to do certain objectives and what not. acts a bit like an ambassador for the elves & mages in the meetings to give them a voice and remind the human board of trusteeeess that they’re fucking not the only ones around :)) 

  Commander: Mainly with @desiderrium‘s Cullen. Basically Revas takes over for Cullen? at his request kinda because she’s like what the fuck you’re whAT. and gets pissed at everyone else for keeping him on when he’s Not Okay even if she’d rather kick his teeth in 99% of the time. why revas take over? because she’s actually p fuckin qualified, gestures vaguely towards being a first and the advisor au. like she knows how to lead ppl so ayy. 

  Inquisitor: Same ish backstory happens except her parents died to the blight and she left the clan for the other and ye same shit happens. but the clans ask her to go check shit out for them and shes like of course and gets caught up in the mess so.

How’s it that there ain’t nary a consonant nor vowel on the Internet about this release? I usually dig about beforehand, just seein whether I’m missing some key element or background info; investigate what the Greek choruses are hollerin back and what have you. Not a peep. What happened? Was everybody too gummed up in the sticky nightmare of last year to notice?

Shame, that, cuz Dan’s Ohio Period (or should I call it The Gray Period?) produced some fine records. Home of the Blues prolly ain’t a “fan-shedder” like Excerpts and Half-Speeds, his last outing on Kye, but it’s just as deep a dunk in the man’s dome pool. I don’t mean just in terms of the inner workings of his craft but his literal interiors. The bod and the abode. Shit, that’s where the blues lives anyhoo. Whatever ain’t guitar, tape or prerecorded music here seems to be bodily or domestic: claps, slaps, close-mic’d mouths, kitchen scrubbins, wood planks, scissors. Hell, the lyrics to “Mouse Stash” are quite literally soaked with malfunctioning bodies and parts thereof. Whether this was a theme in the “series of exercises” he was given to make this record, or he was dropped like a newbie soldier into the wilds of Dayton with nothing but his skivvies and a crumpled picture of Elmore James, I have no earthly notion. But damn do the shoe fit. There is also an overwhelming loneliness and isolation at work here; a man penned in and making do; snappin bits off the brittle edge of the day and tryin to have a laugh with them. Or at them. (But never at us. That’s one of Dan’s gifts: he never sics the shadows on us.) Don’t get much more relevant than that.

Ok fine: Index and Anton Heyboer meet in Ivor Cutler’s Scotch sitting room. There. I did my arcane music mathematics. Happy now? Zat make you wanna hear this? Great. And hey it’s still around! With a poster! Hurrah and hurray and hurry whydontcha?
