Since I had just done one of these right after I received this in my inbox, I'm gonna do a regular fic rec of fics I adore but didn't write!

Do Not Go Gentle, by @oumaheroes (G, british isles brothers, hetalia, on-going) - Any and everything Rainbow writes is absolutely delicious and the way she's working on these background stories for the boys makes me EMOTIONAL

Zoute Drop, by @maivalkov (R, nedport/engspa, hetalia, on-going) - Maiva is such an incredible and amazing writer, every one of her paragraphs is so beautiful woven it makes me want to scream into my knuckles and kick my feet in the air, and when she does smut!!! Madam, I need you to know I adore you ❤️

Bitter Teeth, by @helianskies (M, romespa/nedport, hetalia, on-going) - I want everyone to read this and know how amazing Helia is, everything she writes is so so good and she has some of the absolute best fics in this fandom, but I really fell in love with this one and I WANT HER TO KNOW HOW MUCH IT RUINS ME WITH EVERY UPDATE

Look, Up In The Sky, by thraced (T, destiel, supernatural, complete) - I've read this fic so many times I practically know if by heart by now. I love it so much, it always hits me just right and I constantly go back to it.

The hanged man, by @spikeface (E, mckirk, star trek, complete) - I swear to god this fic changed my brain chemistry. I'll catch myself thinking about it from time to time, specific scenes or lines, and then I'll go back to re-read and it's just as magnificent as it was the first time I read it, absolutely stunning work.

These are just some cute ancients chibis I’ve been working on! If there’s interest, I might turn them into stickers hehe, but for now I’m pretty satisfied with how these designs turned out, and I definitely want to draw them more later!

They're like. Really old OCs. I created them at arouns 13 years old, back when I had first joined the famdom haha. They have changed a lot since then, though.

They basically have an older brother and younger sister relationship, with Thrace being older and Dacia being the younger sister.

Both have a weird relationship with gender and stuff, but looking at Romania, that sort of seems to run in the family.

I'd say out of both of them, Thrace is probably the more shy one.

Dacia is very loud and brash and stuff, at least at first. But she means well. Usually.

They both enjoy being menaces to Rome and sort of have a weird complicated relationship with him (Thrace & Rome could be toxic AND tragic yaoi, I think)

dacia is fair haired with blue eyes, and thrace has brown dark hair and has blue eyes, but with a sort of green tint to them.

Dacia is basically Romania's mom, and Thrace was Bulgaria's parental figure with questionable morality before he died.

Also I think they don't always get along, I see them, especially as they both grew up(and having somewhat different personalities), getting in arguments very often. I mean they did as kids too, yknow how siblings when theyre kids often get in fights.

But even so, they did genuinely care for eachoter.

That's it. Well, I have a lot more thoughts about them but I don't remember a lot of them at the moment.

Thrace: You know, I used to play back in my gory days. Bulgaria: You mean glory days? Thrace: Ah, that too.

I don't talk about him much, but i think sometimes about my Thrace OC (like, the civilisation I mean)

Originally, I was gonna give him dark brown hair but I have been thinking about giving him dark red hait since he would look too similar to Bulgaria (since they both would have green eyes).

Personality wise, he's kind of like Bulgaria, although perhaps a tad more neurotic. And also really into fighting and poetry. And jewelry.

And also he had children. Some survived to the modern era, some died sadly. Bulgaria is not his child, thought he grew fond of him and was a kind of morally questionable...parental figure to him in his dying days.

Also the concept of Thrace as a ghost/spirit coming to visit Bulgaria at certain points in his life and talk to him, maybe give him questionable advice, is kinda fun.

Also again, personality wise they can both be similar, which is funny becuase at times I imagine they could piss eachoter off and annoy eachoter(and if I wrote a story with them, there would be so many character parallels between them). So it would be them really getting pissed off at traits they themselves have.

Alsoooo. Since I see Ro as being kind of Dacia's child, and Dacia is Thrace's sister...I can just see Thrace seeing Bul & interact with Ro and just being like "NO. NO. NOOOOO" because he's not exactly happy about the idea of his weird kind-of adopted child possibly getting together in the future with his sister's child (and he might be a tad protective of Dacia's children since she kind of dies before him, even tho she is his younger sister and he feels like he's failed her. So he deals with it by coming a bit overprotective of what he considers to be the last remnants of her)

Dacia having pet wolves...well tehnically theyre not pets as much as they are wolves who follow her around and are somewhat omnious(to other people). Also foxes maybe? Idk she deserves all the animals <3

thrace is like, one of those people that is sort of a poet that never even wrote (down) a poem. The thracians were apparently known for their poetey and such, but none of it has survived, so that's my interpretation of it. And also because he's literally me(well, to be fair I did write some poems, so I guess I'm better). Idk I think he'd be kinda annoying about it. Also, they were known for music too.

I also think there's something there, that the thracians were both known for being both superior fighters and for their poetry and music. Thrace is sort of a complex guy, I'd say.

The thracians, despite being thought of as mostly bloodthirsty warriors and such, were known for their music and poetry! Funnily enough, Orpheus sometimes said to have thracian origins (but it's not very likely). This is why my Thrace OC is someone who, while he is very good in the battlefield, he is also very passionate about the arts-music and poetry. He definitely had the heart of one

Wanted to draw how they look like in my head, Dacia & Thrace & the Getae. I'll probably change some stuff later idk not truly happy with how they look

Also this is Thrace but at a time when he was younger since I think when he grows into an adult he probs grows a beard

Thrace's hair probably darkens even more as he grows up since I see him as having darker hair as an adult dbdhhddj

The Getae & Dacia might have been the same, or might have been very strongly related but I chose the make 2 OCs for them

(And I don't really have OCs for them yet, but I do think all the tribes that made up the dacians & the thracians also had personifications)

Dacia's slight resemblance to Romania was intended haha

Anyway. I wanna talk about Thrace again, sort of.

The ancient greeks believed that the thracians were the sons of Ares(ancient greek god of war and other stuff I think), because of how warlike they were, and thus, was regarded as the patron of Thrace. Apaprently, he had a son named Thrax (name which literally translates to 'thracian'), but 'Thrax' was also one of his epithets (his golden or gilded shield was kept in his temple at Bistonia in Thrace).

Anyway, I've been thinking that maybe, some humans (and perhaps the personification of Ancient Greece herself) might have considered him to be that Thrax. Idk I just think Ancient Greece would maybe refer to him as Thrax, perhaps as a nickname of sorts (or perhaps because she really did believe him to be the son of Ares?). Also, at one point it was believed that the thracians would have been very strong if they weren't so divided, and were in very big numbers at one point.

I dunno. I think all his life his strenght and fighting skills were what was most appreciated about him, sometimes even by his own people. I think he would have liked to do stuff like singing and making poetry and jewelry more, instead of going to war. For someone who constantly battled people, I don't think he ever enjoyed it. Partly because he had to deal with it since he was a young child.

He was mostly apathetic to it. Probably just thought a lot about how he can't wait to go back to his family and friends after it's over, how he would rather create than destroy. And then, what was most appreciated about him, him being a good warrior, was taken away from him along with freedom, and it's not as if that's the only thing he's good at, but it's the only thing most people think he's good at.

Also, I think he doesn't want anyone to go through what he went since he was a child, especially children, but he still taught all kids he took care of how to fight very well and revealed to them the atrocities of war etc when they were very young since that's kind of the only way he knows how to protect them, by making them strong enough so they will be able to defend themselves. Like, he knows having having to face wars from such a young age screwed him up (even if he's a nation) but has no other idea on how to raise kids, at least not until later in life.

Is this coherent? Tbh I'm still working on him so uh.

its not really important but I do have a hetalia oc for Dacia. And i think about her a lot tbh but I just havent been able to draw her. Im just in a weird place with my art i guess idk. Anyway she's awesome and i swear I'll try to talk about her one day and draw her.
