the fact of the matter is percy jackson and the olympians is a story of a negligent system in which demigods often fall victim. luke’s motive as the main antagonist throughout the series is to dismantle that system, dismantle the thrones on which the gods sit. hestia, however, does not sit on a throne. She places herself at camp half-blood among the demigods, reachable and ready to provide them warmth. and when the war reaches its peak, lives are threatened and the olympians leave to defend their symbols of power, hestia remains on mount olympus and tends to hearth, nurturing what is left of family. hestia is not everyone’s favorite Oolympian because she has done nothing to harm the demigods (though, that is a huge factor). she is the most honorable because she does what she can to maintain hope and stability throughout adversity. hestia was the last olympian remaining because she represents what matters most when everything falls apart.

Pagan Misconceptions Clarified: Why Hestia, is NOT ''The Greek Goddess of The Hearth, than decided to never married; she didn't did much in Myths, and ended giving her place so she could lived a peaceful and very boring Immortal Life?!''
(Sigh...) ...You know?!... I'm really bored, sick and tired to hear; than Hestia did nothing, just because almost anyone thinks than she only watched over the Home's Fire (Hearth); while she avoids Romantic Love and Marriage; at all costs...
At the end of this Post, you will see Hestia's others atributes; and above all... The myths than surrounds her, and how her decision of never marry or bears children; it was something revolutionary, or even rebellious; at that time. (And today, too!)
Hestia, is too: The Goddess of Hospitality, The Goddess of The Sacrificial Fire; The Goddess of The Public Hearth, The Keeper of The Olympian Hearth, The Goddess of Domesticity, The Goddess of Community; The Goddess of Cults in The Home, The Inventor of The Art of House-Building, The Goddess of Architecture, The Goddess of The Family and The City; The Goddess of The Fire of The Center of The Earth, The Goddess of The Fire of The Center of The Universe, The Goddess Protectress of The Cities, Homes and Family, AND... The Goddess of The Home!
Hestia, was the first born child of both Rhea and Chronus; which was swallowed by her father, (To avoid The Profecy of Gaia and Uranus, than he will be dethroned one day; in the same way than he detroned to his own father, Uranus) and remained inside her father's stomach; with her other brothers and sisters than were borned and were swallowed, as soon they were born; too. Zeus, rescued them by giving a potion to his father; been Hestia the last to been freed (That's the reason why she is called, too ''The Eldest and Youngest Daughter''), and Hestia; along with Zeus and her other brothers and sisters, fought and defeated to her father and most of the Titans; in was called The Titanomachy. After this event, The Olympians became The Rulers of The Universe; and Hestia withdraws to her new role of keeping the hearth alight, in some quiet part of Mount Olympus; but... Poseidon and Apollo, went to her to ask her hand in marriage and started to fought about it; but the beautiful and pure Hestia, (seeing than choosing to any of the two, will cause a war between them; and because she vowed first to keep peace in the recently founded Era of The Olympian Gods) she said to Zeus and to all The Olympians; than she vows to remain a virgin forever by putting her hand over Zeus's Head, and asked to Zeus to granted her wish; which Zeus accepted, and since then; she earned the name of The Peacekeeper of The Olympus, and she had a great familiar relation with all The Deities; specially with Hermes, her nephew. In Rome, she was named; as Vesta.
She is rarely represented in human form, and when she does; is as an modest woman with a veil and robe, sometimes, she appeared seated in a simple wooden throne with a white woolen cushion holding what seems to be a flowered chaste-tree branch in one hand; or with a staff, with a kettle in one hand; with a sacrificial fire in her hand, stand in front of a big fire... But mostly, she is represented by a bright fire in a big hearth. She doesn't choose a symbol for herself, the domestic pig was her companion animal; cows of only a year old where sacrificed to her, (equally as the first fruit, water; oil and wine) and she doesn't have titles as her brothers and sisters, and... She had very few temples dedicated to her, specially because every hearth's home, and every fire lighted in a temple's altar; was Hestia's sacred place!
The Goddess of Hospitality: In Ancient Times... Hospitality, was one of the higher values a Civilization could have, 'cause the same was important to keep the peace and commercial relations between nations and cities: The Public Hearth, was used to welcome to ambassadors and guests; and the priests and priestess of Hestia, played the part of hosts for the visitants. It was considerated an grave offense against Hestia, to turned way to help an stranger asking for hospitality or help; or to hurt a foreign woman in any way than searched refugy, while she were in that house... For that, she is The Goddess of Hospitality!
The Goddess of The Sacrificial Fire: She was appointed as "The Goddess that presides over all sacrifices made in front of the Altar Fire", (Be it in The House, The Temple; or... Even, outdoors!) and; she had her share in any sacrifices to all The Gods, in all their temples: She was invoked first, and the first part of the sacrifices... Was for her!
The Goddess of The Public Hearth: The Ancient Greeks had an Public Heart in The Prytaneiun, where Hestia had her sacred sanctuary; with her statue and a sacred hearth: This is from where Hestia, protects The Comunnity; with her sacred fire and power!
The Keeper of The Olympian Hearth: Zeus, (after The Titanomachy) assigned roles to all The Deities; and the one for Hestia, was to keep the Olympian Hearth alive; which for that purpose, she kepts tending the same all the time; and uses each sacrifices made for the men and women in the fire, for that end.
The Goddess of Domesticity: Because she retired to the inner part of her home in Olympus, and like Hades; she rarely leaved her place which is near of the Olympian Hearth, what makes her The Goddess of Domesticity.
The Goddess of Community: Many families living near each other, and sharing things in common like Culture; Language, Communal History, Basic Resources and/or Language; is called a Community, and each community; had a Public Hearth than was the place where all the people of that place, did their public life (From Festivities, till recieving Ambassadors and/or Special Guests); mostly around or near the Communal Fire, which was Hestia watching over each person in the Community... Making her The Goddess of The Community, and; of course, of The Communal Life!
The Goddess of Cults in The Home: Each house in Ancient Greece, was the place for private sacrifices to The Deities; and the place than was mostly use for that, was... Yes, you guess it: The Hearth! That's why Hestia, was the first Deity mentioned at the start of the Cults at Home.
The Inventor of The Art of House-Building: It was mentioned in Ancient Times, than Hestia; teached to Humanity how to built houses.
The Goddess of Architecture: And... For the aforementioned myth, she is... The Goddess of Architecture, too!
The Goddess of The Family and The City: The City, is an extended family and house; and that's why Hestia, is The Goddess of The City. Also, it was said than Hestia; is The Goddess and Keeper of the harmony in The Family.
The Goddess of The Fire of The Center of The Earth: The Ancient Greeks, assumed than ''There must be a fire in The Center of The Earth!'', so... That means than Hestia's powers, includes to keeps the Fire of The Center of the Earth!
The Goddess of The Fire of The Center of The Universe: An Ancient Philosopher, believed than there's most be a sacred fire; in the Center of The Universe.
The Goddess Protectress of The Cities, Homes and Family: It was said than Hestia, extended her protection and blessings, to all the cities than were founded by The Ancient Greeks, also... To all the homes inside each one of those cities. And Hestia, was ''The Giver of all Domestic Happiness and Blessings in The House''; where she lived inside of every house!
The Goddess of The Home: It was believed than Hestia, lives in the inner part of every house; where she looks for each person or family, and because Zeus gave her too the central place in the house, where most of the activities of the family happened; and was said than every newborn should be presented near of the hearth to have Hestia's approval and protection, plus being the one than gives tranquility and protection to any person in their house... She is, The Goddess of The Home!
While Hestia's Cult in Greece, was most modest and quiet... In Rome, as Vesta; she was put as one of the most important and publicly celebrated Goddesses for The Romans, to the point than The Vestal Virgins (Women than were choosen before puberty, swores chastity for 30 years; mostly veiled in white pristine dresses, in Ancient Times were inittialy two; mostly four and, in the Imperial Time; six) were the most respected of the women in Rome: Any crime or offense against any of them, was punishable by death. But... The Vestal Virgins, in turn; had to keeps the fire of Vesta's Temple alit, and her bodies pure, because both things ensured Rome's Wellbeing: The Vestal than let Vesta's Hearth extinguished, was beaten; but the one than broked her vow... Was punished with a bloodless death. At the end of their services, they were free to married; but at that moment, they were between 36 – 40 years old; (In that time, considerated to old to marriage) and because most men didn't wants to marries a former Vestal, so... Many renovated their vows, and stayed living as Vestals; till the end of their lives.
And, now... The few other myths were Hestia appears!
The first one, is when Poseidon and Apollo; when to ask her hand in marriage, and started to courtship her and fight between them, for Hestia's attention: Hestia, went in front of Zeus and of the other Deities, to swore perpetual chastity: Thanks to this action, Hestia avoid a war than could cause, The Destruction of the recently made Olympian Rule!
When Dionysus, went to The Olympus to reclaim his place as an Olympian; that started a discussion, and suddenly... Hestia just gave up her seat, so Dionysus could became one of ''The 12 Olympians''.
Curious Fact: It was considerated "A very bad omen", than The Hearth of any Temple or Colony extinguished; 'causes it was taked as that City or The Community, fells from Hestia's Grace... And this fire, has to be lit up in different way; for being an sacred fire for The Gods, specially for Hestia: Since using Crystal Rocks with sunlight, till the hardest option; than was going to Delphi's Temple, to light a torch and keeping it alive; until arrived to the city without their sacred fire, and lit up The Public; Communal or Temple's Hearth, again! Also... The Emperor Theodosious, extinguished Vesta's Eternal Fire in the Roman Forum; and forbid The Vestal Virgins, in 394 AD... The Roman Empire fells in 476, after almost a century without Hestia's Protection. (A punishment of The Gods, because The Romans neglected and destroyed their relation with The Deities than protects them; for centuries?...)
And, now... Why Hestia, was a rebel in her own way?
As many of you may have notices, Hestia was one of "The Three Virgin Goddesses of Ancient Greece"; with Artemis and Athena, but... What most people hasn't notices, is than these three goddesses; are the only "Three Principal Virgin Goddesses in the World!" And, I suspect than Hestia was totally asexual which explains why we doesn't have any myth of Hestia expressing interest in someone. And I think than Hestia, makes that vow... Not only to avoid a intern war between Olympians, but too to have the autonomy and independence the other goddesses than were married and have children, never had. That's why Hestia did, was so revolutionary: She showed to all the women in Antiquity, than if you doesn't wanted to married; and avoid being the subject of the hardships of marriage, you have a choice: Staying forever at home, swearing you will never takes a man as a husband; fiancee, boyfriend or lover, renouncing forever to romance, but winning something more... Personal Tranquility, and Freedom!
In conclusion... Hestia, was one of the more important goddesses for The Ancient Greeks; because she kepts everyone happy in their Home, attending to Hearth and Kitchen; and making than each Family, Home; Community and City, feel protected and peaceful; thanks than she have all the time to do that, only by remained eternally pure and single.
This is all about The Goddess of all The Sacred Fires, of The Domestic Life; Bringer of Blessings for The Family and Society, than sits quietly in an corner of the House; as in Olympus, being a pacifist with an strong personality and will; like an domesticated fire: Hestia!
Have all of you, a life where you find that place of Peace; Happiness, Harmony and Joy; than is warm and lovely, than you will be happy to call it Home... So Be It!

Hestia Matronage
Hestia Enters The Chat
Hestia was not a figure I learned about growing up. I more often heard about her brother Zeus. However, a book by Judika Illes introduced me to a world of spirits I never knew existed.
Hestia has been a source of inspiration and reverence since the moment I finished reading about her in the Encyclopedia of Spirits book by Judika Illes. That's all it was for a time.
I never knew she would grow to be a spirit of great importance to my life and love in my heart. Being someone whose home is the focal point of my life, having the Goddess of Hearth and Home as my Matron seems most fitting.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
She Changes Everything
My life has been a whirlwind of never-ending trauma, moving around, restlessness, and health problems. It always seemed like my life could never have moments of calm, let alone days of calm.
I thought that's just how life is for everyone. No one rests right, everyone has to go to the doctor, and everybody works until death. I knew people didn't live like this, I just thought that I could never escape the hamster wheel of my social class. (I won't go into political discussion)
Hestia came in and said, "Home is your fortress of solitude, peace, and place of spiritual growth. You are your home."
I've had many dreams of her. One that led me to her message of becoming my Matron and me becoming her Devotee. This was huge for me because I have always wanted a matron/patron deity since I started out on my pagan path.
Before her matronage, she took me by the hand, the way a mother would a child (figuratively), and guided me on a path to healthy living, quiet time, and good rest.
This was done through a year of doctor's appointments, routine, eating mindfully, and prayer through the times of struggle. Prayer didn't make me eat healthy, but it did give me solace when I didn't want to eat healthy or exercise.
She's provided a whole new toolset for me to rely on. She's helped in giving a spark of freshness to my home, and she has been lending a helping hand when energy needs to be cleared from the household. This has been a wonderful experience.

Character Intro: Epidotes (Kingdom of Ichor)
Nicknames- The Boy Savior by the people of Olympius
Sweetheart by his mother
Age- 13 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- He's a well mannered sweet natured young man who treats others with mutual respect. He constantly strives for perfection.
He has the standard abilties of a god except shapeshifting. He shares powers/abilities similar to his family members like purification, limited photokinesis, ambrosia manipulation, and having an eidetic memory. His other power/ability is cleaning inducement.
Epidotes is the only son & child to Lití (the eldest sister of The Litae). The other members (his aunts) are Katharina and Ikesía. His cousins are Pompe (goddess of rites) & Telete (goddess of prayers).
He lives with his mom at their house in the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus. His room is meticulously organized and tidy with the color scheme being cream, pastel blue, & beige. Instead of a video game system, Epidotes owns a ton of board games as well as books of crossword puzzles and brain teasers. All of his dress shoes are well polished.
He has two newly adopted golden retriever puppies named Humphry and Duke.
A go-to drink for him is pineapple juice. He also likes water, cafe au laits, orange juice, lemon-lime soda, coconut milk, & ginger ale. He also likes the peanut butter milkshakes from The Frozen Spoon.
Epidotes doesn't mind the responsibilities/chores around the house like taking care of his dogs, mowing the lawn, cleaning out the gutters, doing his own laundry, and cooking dinner every week. He likes helping out & keeping busy. Aside from a weekly allowance, there's also a trust in his name that he won't have access to till after his induction ceremony in a few years.
His mom is the most important woman in his life. They have a close special bond and he doesn't mind that she pushes him to be the best he can be. Even though it was awkward for Epidotes, he sat through his mom's "birds and bees" talk- even accepting a book on sex education she bought for him.
As a young kid, he had the biggest crush on Hestia (goddess of the hearth).
His relationship with his other family members is good as well. He's more closer to his cousin Pompe because they follow closely to what their mothers preach.
Epidotes recently aquired a smartphone, a gift from his mom after being awarded Student of the Month back to back for a whole term! There are parental controls on the internet & a family locator app.
His personal style is preppy, his clothing always expertly pressed with no wrinkle in sight.
Epidotes accompanies his mother and the rest of the family to church at The Eleutherus Cathedral where he & his cousins take part in the service.
His favorite desserts are his mom's homemade banana pudding and his aunt Katharina's bougatsa.
He's allowed an hour of television on weekdays & two hours during the weekend. There's also set rules on what's acceptable to watch.
A meal that comes out perfect every time he makes it is smothered porkchops, white rice, and mushroom casserole!
Epidotes is a straight A student with perfect attendence. He knows the nickname that's bestowed on him & his cousins (The Drool Crew), but it doesn't seem to fase him. He takes pride in his flawless academic record and tries his best not to judge the other students that aren't up to his standards like Anaideia (goddess of ruthlessness, shamelessness, & unforgiveness). His favorite classes are home economics, mathematics, and religious studies. Epidotes & his cousins are joined at the hip during lunch, but they also sit with a group of kids (that were pre-screened by their moms). Afterschool, he runs a biweekly study group that's open to all students in his grade.
He knows of the other godly kids- exchanging pleasantries with Deucalion, Pandia (goddess of the full moon), Achelois (goddess of the moon & comfort), Dysis (goddess of the sunset), Philia (goddess of friendship) and has spent some time with Thespios (god of acting) during the time that they were partnered up for a home economics project. He also talks to the sixth graders E.B & Krysothemis (Kristy)- kids of Karmanor (demi-god of the harvest). Epidotes really enjoys spending time with Calocagathia (Aggie) (goddess of nobility & goodness). They see each other at lunch or when she's interning at The Litae's office. He admires her kind heart and intelligence & is in awe of her beauty- even how elegant she seems while riding a dragon! Epidotes truly respects and values their friendship & is well aware at how their moms are hopeful about a future coupling. He wants to work up the courage to ask her out on a chaperoned date.
Epidotes has a part-time job at a small supermarket where his role is bagging groceries for customers.
Once, while walking up the stairs to go to class, he came upon Thespios making out with a girl.
An uncomfortable moment happened during his study group session where Thespios came along with Thrasos (god of boldness, insolence, recklessness, & courage) and a few other friends. Instead of studying or doing homework, the other guys horsed around and were busy joking and being on their phones. Attention was soon turned to Epidotes where they asked him invasive questions, like if he's ever kissed a girl, or touched himself, or had a wet dream. Thespios then showed him a video on his phone, the latest music video by Chrysos (god of gold & riches) where there was a scene of several nymphs dancing provocatively. To say he was blushing is an understatement!
A guilty plesure of his is mushroom pizza.
Epidotes is a secret fan of Apollo's music, his favorite album being 1,000 Days of Sunlight.
There was a moment a few weeks ago while he was taking a nap where he fantasized about riding with Aggie on her dragon where they shared a kiss. He awoke from his nap feeling a strange dampness in his underwear. Embarrased & ashamed, he waited until his mom left the house where he disposed of his boxer shorts in the trash.
In the pantheon Epidotes admires Axiótimos (god of honor), Pathos (god of emotion), Soter (god of safety), Nomos (god of laws), Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment), Eusebeia (goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect), Dike (goddess of justice), Calliope (muse of epic poetry), Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith), Clio (muse of history), and Athena (goddess of wisdom).
There are talks for him to be potentially mentored by Ktesios (god of the household).
In his free time he enjoys reading, basketball, football (soccer), tennis, writing, golf, pottery, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family.
His favorite meal is his mom's baked mac n' cheese with rotisserie chicken and spanokopita.
"If we chase perfection, we can catch excellence."

15 jumalaani / My 15 gods
Part 1
This is my art diploma everyone! The assignment was illustrations of children's books. So what I did was think "Damn there's so many Christian books for children. But I haven't seen my gods in any children's book whatsoever." So this was the perfect opportunity to do my own.
I had a tight schedule, so I wasn't able to fit half of stuff that I wanted. But I think of this booklet as my pilot work! In the future I hope to make a bigger, better one of the Hellenic gods and mythology! Might take years yall.
I really wanted to show diversity and equality in my pictures so, most of the gods are POC, obviously because come on, THEY'RE GREEK. Also I can't show boobs on a children's book now can I? No, and I'm all for equality, if women can't show their bare chest so can't men. So don't expect so see any nipples here😂💕 I also made some of the gods very genderfluid or nonbinary vibes. Like look at Aphrodite and Dionysus.
And yeah all the texts are in Finnish so I translated them for yall here💕 Okay I think that's all the important stuff! Please enjoy!💕

About the Guildmaster Event. It should be a Seaside Event. The Guildmasters and MC are having problems with their Guildmates and subordinates are either being rude, overbearing or down right ignoring. The only people to notice this is their right hands who suggests they take a short vacation. They go to a fancy hotel near a beach where they meet each other and the new character or whatever. Maria,Licht,Claude and Ellie are the main characters. Shiro,Arsalan,Snow,Melusine and Tsukyomi are there as the secondary characters. Almost at the end of the Event, the Guildmates show up to apologize(Toji,Gyobu,Gyumao,Azazel and Bathym had scolded their respective Guilds on their terrible behavior). This is more of a light hearted Event.
The only question now who’d be the obligatory new character for the event. There’s not many stories or anything from any places about a hotel or anything like that.
My first thought was The dragon Palace, but LifeWonders kinda already did that, so I suppose the only kinda suitable candidate that works is Hestia, the Greek Goddes of the Hearth, and better yet, we could borrow from Percy Jackson and make them stay at the Lotus Hotel, which in turn, is based on the Lotus Eaters from the Odyssey.
The plot of the event would be something like, they go to hotel for the break, guild mates show up, realize that they’ve stayed way too long, obligatory Hestia boss battle, end of event.

The Gods- small drabbles pt 4 (Athena)
warnings: *mention of rape*, victim blame
‘A girl sat in a dimly lit cave on the outskirts of Libya. The stone walls were adorned with art from around the world. Statues littered across the entrance and the sides of the cave. Torches made of Hestia’s hearth littered the cave.
The girl sat on cushioned rocks, quite used to the numb feeling the stone had to offer.
Stheno and Euryale’s statues stood proud, right in front of the girl. She had asked if those were actually her sisters, and Medusa had only shaken her head, replying, “No, dear. They faded away a long time ago. I made these out of memory.”
Medusa, sat in front of the girl, a cup of tea in her hands. The Gorgon’s posture was relaxed, a rare sight.
The girl observed her friend. Medusa’s skin glistened with a sheen of green, matching the head of snakes that quietly watched the girl. Even as a monster, the girl thought Medusa was beautiful. Medusa’s large wings were gently tucked behind her back. Glasses made of stone sat on Medusa’s nose. She had made them for when the girl visited her. How terrible would it be if she turned her only friend to stone?
The girl cleared her throat, catching the attention of the Gorgon. “Medusa, may I ask you a question?”
The centuries-old Gorgon smiled, stretching muscles she rarely used, and showed her slight sharpened teeth.
“You may ask me two.”
The girl’s lips tipped upwards when she heard the slight husk and hiss of Medusa’s voice. It didn’t matter how many years she had heard her voice, it still sent shivers down her spine.
“I apologize if I anger you, but I need to know.” The girl took a small pause, letting Medusa register her words. “What exactly had happened after Athena had found you and Poseidon?”
The Gorgon inhaled a sharp breath. More than half the snakes on her head hissed at the girl for causing their mistress distress. The girl just sat still, keeping her composure. She didn’t want to trigger any unwanted feelings for Medusa but she needed to know Athena’s part.
Medusa leaned forward in her seat, clutching the cup in her hand tighter. Her long talon-like nails scraped the cup, adding to the scratches that had gathered over the centuries. Medusa was not surprised at the question her mortal friend had asked her.
The girl was always so curious. Drinking up any information she could receive. Especially if it had to do with the Olympian Gods. Monsters and deities all alike had learned of the girl’s keen attention on gaining any leverage she could find. In a world where everything was controlled by a God, knowledge was the only thing the girl had as a weapon.
The girl leaned back in her chair, trying to hide her smile. She was going around the Greek list of deities. She had promised herself she would take apart God by God until they were nothing but their flaws, and that is exactly what she will do. She had already torn apart Aphrodite, and she felt nothing but content that she did.
The Goddess of passion and love had not left her temple in days. According to Ares, she was in ‘deep thought.’ The girl knew she had caused a break in the front Aphrodite had created, and she could not have been more proud. The Goddess had caused her much pain, and now the mortal was returning the favor.
“Why do you ask?”
The hiss of her words had come out much more tauntingly. Medusa knew of the girl’s plan, and she supported the silly mortal with her entire being. Medusa wanted to see nothing more than the Gods who had caused her so much suffering to feel pain. She wanted them ruined. Medusa wanted to see Athena and Poseidon suffer. She wanted to violate Poseidon in ways she had dreamed of. She wanted to pick every hair off of Athena’s scalp, smiling as the Goddess withered in pain.
The girl shrugged. She swirled the liquid in her cup mindlessly. She knew she was alone here, safe, yet she would be a fool not to be cautious. The Gods were sly beings.
“You know why.”
Medusa grinned. It was sadistic and filled with promise. The girl smiled and leaned forward, ready to take in every word the Gorgon had to offer.
She would use Medusa’s words against Athena and make the Goddess spiral. The girl had an idea of Athena’s personality. The Goddess would, as smart as she was, not be able to see her demise coming.
Medusa reached up and petted some of the snakes that had remained quiet. Small hisses filled the air and Medusa sucked in a deep breath. It had been some time since she had vividly recalled that horrid day. Medusa remembered how she called out to Athena. Begged the Goddess for aid and forgiveness.
“It was a bright day. I was alone in the temple, tending to all my responsibilities.” Medusa wet her green, chapped lips. “He came out of nowhere. If it weren’t for the look in his eyes, I would have thought I had a chance at fighting back.”
The girl listened attentively. Besides the information, she wanted her friend to talk about what had happened. The girl knew, better than others, how it felt to keep things quiet. She couldn’t even imagine how Medusa had felt all these millennial's.
***
The girl walked with a skip in her step. Not only had she got to visit Hades, but she was on her way to destroy another God.
Mount Olympus slightly shook under the weight of the girl’s intentions. The mountain seemed to know exactly what the girl had come to do, and it couldn’t stop her. Not when she commanded it. The mountain didn’t warn the Gods, because it too had gotten sick of the deities.
The girl walked with her head up and her shoulders back. She walked with no hesitation because she knew that in the world of Olympians and deities, everything that fell under the second category stood with her.
The girl stood in front of Athena’s temple. A beautiful structure made of marble stood before her. The girl didn’t get any time to fully appreciate the temple, because Athena had already called her to enter.
“To what do I owe this pleasure?”
The girl walked right into the center of the temple. Walls of books aligned the walls. Ancient Greek weapons were all polished, spread across the marble walls.
Athena’s back was to the girl. As expected. The Goddess wore a traditional white cloth with a belt made of pure Olympian treasure.
Athena turned around and the girl’s eyes widened and her lips parted in awe. She would never get over the Goddess’s eyes. They were pools of an oncoming storm, diminutive and vindictive, keen but pleasant. They were always calculating, and the girl always felt scrutinized under the Goddess’s gaze.
The girl straightened her shoulders, smoothing out her sundress. She was here to talk to Athena, and that’s what she was going to do.
“I came to talk to you.” Athena smiled at the girl. The smile was soft, inviting. “I actually wanted to tell you a story.”
At this, Athena raised her eyebrows. Athena and the girl had a nice relationship, that was before the girl found out the Goddess was involved in her family’s murder. Both women used to exchange stories.
Athena nodded and motioned for the girl to sit. The girl sat across from Athena, chin up and her posture relaxed. She had to play her cards right. She had to make sure she lured Athena in, and then used her lack of compassion to get her to spiral.
The Goddess sat, poised and with perfection. She had chosen to wear more traditional clothing, instead of her regular armor. She was glad the girl had stopped by. It had been too long since she had gotten to speak with the mortal woman.
“Now,” Athena snapped her fingers, and two cups of Ambrosia and mortal delights appeared on the table. “This story?”
The girl smiled. “Right, yes. Well, it is a story, but I’m telling you this because I would like to know about your opinion.”
Athena brought a small Belgium chocolate to her lips. “A mortal story?”
The girl nodded but internally shook her head. A fool is what the Goddess was. Could she not see the turmoil behind the girl’s eyes? The pure malice that shined in her eyes and behind every action? Could the Goddess of wisdom not understand how unwise it was to let the girl speak? Did she not get a warning from Aphrodite?
The girl leaned back and laced her fingers together. “This is a story of a woman who was wronged by those she trusted.”
Athena’s eyes shined as she leaned forward, intrigued already. “Is there something to solve at the end?”
The girl contemplated for a moment. Solve? Not entirely. But there was the question of right and wrong, and she would make sure Athena answered.
“Not entirely, but there is a question I would like to ask at the end.”
Athena nodded and waved for the girl to continue.
“Long ago, a woman took in one girl. This girl needed guidance, shelter, and food, and the woman wanted to protect her.”
“Is this the concept of adoption?”
The girl nodded. “Yes, like you raised Erichtonius.”
Athena nodded, understanding. The girl needed a concept that was close enough to Medusa’s case but did not raise any red flags for the Goddess.
“Now this girl, she was beautiful, but she was loyal to her woman. She did whatever she could do to serve the woman who protected her well. One day, however, the woman’s uncle came to visit. He had heard of this girl his niece had taken in and come to see her for himself.”
The girl watched as Athena took in her words greedily. Once Athena knew there was a question to answer, she wanted to make sure she answered correctly.
“The woman went to the market, and in the meantime, the uncle approached the girl. Now, she wasn’t a child, but it was still wrong. The girl fought, called out to her woman, but the man was stronger. He violated the girl’s virgin body in the house she had deemed her safe haven.”
The girl watched as Athena’s eyebrows furrowed and how she slowly straightened up. This is the moment of truth, the girl thought.
Athena frowned a bit. “The girl let herself lose her virginity?”
The girl’s blood boiled. She clenched her fists, her nails piercing the skin of her palm. This is why Athena had never been a Goddess for the women. Why she was loathed by all women alike. The girl couldn’t understand how the Goddess of law and justice could be so unjust.
“Do not interrupt me,” The girl sneered. The Goddess’s eyes lit with fire at the disrespect but she said nothing. Athena would have turned the girl into a dagger, but she couldn’t, and that made the Goddess angry.
“The woman came home to the sight of her girl no longer a virgin. She didn’t spare her uncle a glance and chose to punish the girl. She turned the girl away.”
The girl leaned back and tilted her head, sizing down the Goddess. “My question for you, Athena, is, was it just for the woman to punish the girl?”
The girl wished she could have taken a photo of Athena’s confused face. She knew Apollo would have enjoyed the look of bewilderment on his sister’s face, but Apollo wasn’t here.
“The woman turned away the girl, correct?” The girl nodded, interested to see how Athena would respond.
“It’s simple then. The woman turned away the girl to protect her from the uncle.”
The girl nodded, expecting as much. “Turning her away seems reasonable, correct.”
Athena opened her mouth to speak, but the girl slammed her hand down on the table, causing the Goddess to flinch.
“Tell me then, Athena, why you could not do the same. Tell me why you chose to curse Medusa to a life of misery. Was her rape not enough punishment?”
The Goddess’s eyes lit up and a scowl overtook her once peaceful face. “Tread very carefully, mortal.”
The girl smirked and crossed her arms. “Answer me, Athena.”
The Goddess would not back down, she was too proud for that. “I cursed Medusa to protect her.”
The girl leaned back in her chair. She could see how flustered the Goddess was becoming. Athena was not used to being questioned.
“Do you know what I think, Athena? Well, I’ll tell you.” The girl smiled a smile so threatening and full of promise that Athena felt a prickle of nervousness.
“I think you cursed Medusa out of jealousy. Medusa sought your counsel, and yet you cursed her. Medusa originally promised herself to you, but her promise to you came undone when Poseidon raped her. One of the staples of being an Olympian god's mate was that once claimed, they were bound to be mates forever. Isn’t that right, Athena?” Athena nodded once. Her grey eyes blazed like a storm.
“You felt betrayed by Medusa since Poseidon claimed her, even though Medusa promised herself to you. In turn, Athena, you would feel inclined to lash out in anger against Medusa for this development.”
Athena shook her head furiously. Athena had not thought about Medusa in eons, and this mortal girl was making her question everything.
“What is it, Athena? Are you so out of your emotions that you can’t even admit it?”
Athena furiously bellowed, causing the temple to shake. “You watch your mouth, mortal.”
The girl smiled. “Or what? Will you turn me into a monster? Or a spider?”
“Face it, Athena. There’s a reason you’re not liked by many women. Not like Artemis is. Don’t you wonder why that is? You’ve always favored men over women, haven’t you? Isn’t that why you sent Perseus after Medusa? Did you hate the Gorgon so much? Was jealousy that overwhelming for you? What was it, Athena? Was it Medusa’s hair? Was it the fact that people came to see her and not you?”
Athena felt spiraled. She had never been disrespected like this. The girl was opening old wounds and it was causing the Goddess to think emotionally. The girl had figured out Athena. The Goddess lacked compassion, she was too ruled by intellect, the Goddess was too out of touch was her emotions, and she was not immune to envy and prone to quick, brutal vengeance.
“If not Medusa, let’s talk about Arachne. You remember her, don’t you? Granted, she should not have challenged you, but I heard from a little spider that you were enraged that her tapestry was perfect, while yours was not.”
Athena didn’t speak. She couldn’t fathom coherent thought. The girl had ripped apart any logic that had grounded the Goddess for centuries. Athena hadn’t been in a situation where her intelligence had been questioned, or where she felt that painful pull in her chest.
The girl pushed her chair back and stood up, she could see the unrest in Athena’s eyes.
“I...I have always done what I believed was right.”
The girl looked down at the Goddess. The girl had never felt so powerful. To look down on such a proud Goddess was a moment the girl was sure she would never get to experience again. Athena’s eyes were wide and swirled with uncertainty. It was an amusing sight.
“You’re a God, Athena.” The girl took a few steps and then paused. She turned her head back slightly, seeing Athena’s hunched figure from the corner of her eye.
“You have no morality. No judgment of right or wrong.”
The girl walked out of the temple, leaving Athena behind. She could feel the temple walls and grounds shake. Athena was angry, except she hadn’t the slightest clue at what.
Grinning like Dionysus after some wine, the girl walked down the path from Athena’s temple. She had pushed Athena away from intelligence, questioned her wisdom, and forced her to feel something. She couldn’t have done anything else. Athena was too proud and confident in her actions. She had supported all the heroes and resulted in vengeance too quickly.
The only two small pressure points the girl had were Medusa and Arachne, and now she had used them.
As the girl walked, Hestia watched from afar. She had felt it when the girl arrived and from the glint in her eyes, she knew the girl had chosen her next victim.
Hestia’s eyes narrowed at Athena’s temple. She could see the fumes that they released, and she understood what had happened.
Hestia watched as the girl began to skip down towards her. The Goddess crossed her arms and patiently waited for the girl.
“Hestia.” The girl stopped, stared.
Hestia smiled at the girl, though it was small and accusing. “What have you done now, girl?”
The girl just shrugged, her lips curled up in a wicked smile. “What I promised to do.”
Hestia dropped her arms with a sigh. She began to walk, motioning for the girl to follow. Both women walked side by side, towards Hestia’s hearth.
“How did you do it?”
The girl pursed her lips. She knew she could tell Hestia, she just didn’t trust the location. Anyone could have been listening, and she did not need Zeus’s keen eyes on her.
More than they already were.
“It was quite easy, actually.” The girl responded. When Hestia said nothing, the girl continued. “You all have your traits. Athena, for example, was too ruled by intellect, which was her downfall.”
Hestia slightly nodded. The Goddess was disturbed by the girl's success but also amazed. She was the one who had implanted the idea to go after the Gods, she, however, did not expect the girl to do so well.
“Careful, girl. You may have broken Aphrodite and Athena, but you have a tough road ahead of you. Know your enemies and keep them close.”
The girl nodded. She knew all of this already. “I’ll be fine.”
“You seem confident.”
The girl sighed, except this one was different. It was one of tiredness and sorrow. Hestia recognized this sigh. She had, after all, heard it for almost two centuries now.
“When you can’t die, not even by the Gods, you pick up some confidence.”

Me: Well, I've learned my lesson, I'll DM this campaign with a small setting, just a city, won't try to make a whole world on my own on the fly. It's working and my players are having fun, I should try to develop this religion a bit more tho. It is very much based on the Greek goddes Hestia so I have a theme of life, fire, home, hearth in general...
Me, listening to some dope songs and improvising a religion based on manipulation and bonds divided in expressions of the same God and have they interject: So this one is called The Great Weaver, this one The Mother of Chaos, this is The Architect, this-

I have name suggestions (or are they predictions? Idk.).
Heather (it's lovely and sticks with the plant theme)
Honey (longshot, but cute and vague reference to the fanfics)
Helena (a badass name any way you slice it)
Hildegard (eclectic enough to be witchy)
Hestia (Greek goddess of the hearth and chief goddes of domestic activity)
I’m always disappointed when a liar’s pants don’t actually catch on fire
can we take some time to appreciate how thus far dimity’s reactions to hempnettle are always expressed in playground banter, with her blowing the raspberry and the turn around of “liar liar pants on fire”
drillnettle better be real and i have my strong suspicions it might be. all i’m saying is there’s a REASON they didn’t just write an existing partner into the picture to explain shauna’s pregnancy and instead made this BIG GAY RIVALS TO LOVERS PLOTLINE
her magical muscle injury is actually that she’s pregnant with drillnettle’s love
give us miss hempnettle’s first name and give us their “PERSONAL HISTORY” now cowards
