Oppenheimer / immediate thoughts
ok nolan fans let's talk, i just got back.
i am very well acquainted with 20th century american history but i did not do any additional research on oppenheimer the man or the trinity test because i wanted to be surprised by the movie's narrative and imagery, so keep that in mind as you read. i'm not fact-checking for the time being... i want to go do my own reading at my leisure when it's not past midnight.
DON'T GO SEE IT IN IMAX. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND A HEADACHE. it's not inception or dunkirk or the batman films or interstellar. just go to your local theater or wait until it's available to stream. trust me on this. i'll explain why in the spoilers section below.
YOU'RE BEING WARNED. SPOILERS AHEAD.
-this was the least nolan-y film that nolan has ever made. i see more of following in it (his very first film) than i do any other project. it was definitely a bit of a different direction for him.
-this is basically a biopic of sorts about oppenheimer. it's not about the war nor is it really about the bomb. it's about an awkward, conflicted, and possibly mentally ill physics genius who seems to not know how to do much in life beyond quantum physics theory. like yes, he's got a brilliant mind, but he's far from a well-rounded, impressive human being. the guy was a hot mess long before anyone mentioned the word bomb.
-taking that into consideration, i can see how the suffering of humans (whether the navajo nation in new mexico, or the japanese people) doesn't play a role in the film. japanese victims are mentioned, but briefly in one scene. that doesn't make any of this right. in fact a more entertaining, eye-opening, and timely film should have included more of both - but i see now that nolan wanted to focus on ONE man and cillian is indeed in practically every. single. scene.
-cillian should be nominated for an oscar and win it.
-humans are very complex and you CAN both build the bomb AND feel bad about it, yes it's entirely possible and normal, but the film is still 3 hours of white guilt. i'm openly saying it. the reason you shouldn't see it in imax is because it's 3 hours of middle aged white men sitting around making terrible decisions. it's SO MUCH TALKING, jesus.
-IMAX cameras are stupidly loud, which is why most filmmakers don't use them. you can't hear dialogue. they're for action scenes. so that very much explains why i was just ITCHING for subtitles on this. so many different accents and everyone mumbling and the score was louder than their voices and ARGHHH nolan why.
-female characters are unremarkable and underused. i know nolan and i know how he uses female characters. at this point i'm convinced he just doesn't know how to write them, and he can only work with male-driven stories and you know what... fine. it is what it is. unless he brings female writers on board, nothing will change, because he can't do it himself.
-why are there sudden bare tiddies in a nolan film. fanboys, did u love it? did u get what u wanted? was that it? finally, a sex scene in a nolan film? it added nothing and i could argue it took some things away. sorry folks. entirely unnecessary.
-ok THE BEST PART was the surprise cameos. cillian was in every scene and yet he was the least famous person among big oscar winners sometimes! it was wild! i was internally screaming at gary oldman as harry truman. excellent choice to play him like the clown he was. AND EINSTEIN??? did y'all catch that or no??? i knew it right away from the voice and the kind eyes. it's the GUY FROM THE PIT IN THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. he helps bruce recover, and narrates the ascent of "the child". terrific casting! and i haven't checked IMDB yet, but is borden (not named after the character from the prestige!) played by the arkham patient from the dark knight? the one who gets shot in the leg and interrogated by harvey dent?? tell me i am recognizing the right guy! and then we had matthew modine... casey affleck... rami malek who appeared for like 3 mins maybe?! AND Y'ALL, JOSH HARTNETT????????????????? OMG my biggest crush when i was 15. that was craaaazy. but i do like seeing nolan bring back his friends... it's very much a nolan circle as we all know. and once you're in it, you're in it!
-the use of sound was VERY GOOD. the explosion actually being silent, because light reaches us before sound? but also the way the buildup was so intense and so hyped up and then just.... complete silence to reflect on the monstrosity being produced, and how nothing will be the same.
-there was a lot of train sounds to emphasize the railroad, but also... anyone notice that the stomping noise in oppenheimer's head almost felt like a train was coming through? TELL ME YOU DIDN'T THINK ABOUT COBB'S GUILTY CONSCIENCE IN INCEPTION, and how a train would ram through the dream. nolan doing an homage to himself is absolutely hysterical and i am here for it i guess.
-i'm not sure how audiences abroad will feel about all the scenes in washington with congressional testimony. does that stuff carry over well? do you get the references? it's such inside baseball, i know, and it adds so much time to the film, and yet MORE scenes with middle aged white men talking. i could have done with less of the black and white "present day" scenes and more about the impact of the bomb, or maybe more about kitty's life and how she overcame her (presumed?) alcoholism and depression.
-the casual discussion about the 11 cities shortlisted to drop the atomic bomb "but not kyoto because of its cultural importance" made people laugh in the theater as intended, but honestly like... nothing in the movie is funny. it's really heavy stuff and i still stand by the fact that the bomb should never have been produced, despite what oppenheimer and others tried to say. because even its production is incredibly dangerous. it's not just about where you fucking drop it.
-did i mention there is too much matt damon. like, too much.
-rami malek is the only person of color with a speaking role in this film. that's right.
-ok what else guys??? i wanna hear thoughts. there's a lot more but i'm so tired at this hour

Loki S2 Review
I rewatched S2 and I liked it even more on the second watch. I'm giving it a 6 out of 10 in average(8 for the finale). Since I didn't post a review week by week like for S1, I'm just going to talk about the main things I liked/disliked
The Improvements & Things I liked:
The pace and the narrative's tone and framing have changed. While the pace drops sometimes, these moments aren't as boring as S1. Meaning you don't want to constantly check when it's going to end(like you know, S1 and especially 1x06). The narrative is neutral and doesn't villain code Loki and hero code others. It doesn't turn Loki into a clown, a punching bag or someone who deserves humiliation(I guess they've done enough of that in S1). On the contrary the characters are shown as flawed people, with Loki being the most moral, considerate, logical and heroic amongst them.
They stated bluntly in episode 1, that what TVA used to do, were atrocities. That they were killing numerous innocent people who had a right to live their lives as they chose.
The characters were three dimensional, likable or tolerable despite their actions in S1. They showed remorse for the things they had done. Although the way the narrative chose to go about it in S1 still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It shouldn't happen to you for you to realize sth is wrong. But at least it was shown that the characters weren't slaughtering people mindlessly and some of them deep down knew it was wrong. Although the fact that they still did it, because of the "greater good", and "woe is me! It's not a comfort it's a burden" attitude about it is repulsive.
OB, Casey and Timely being funny, cute nerds and fanboys :D
Loki using amazing magical stuff and DID YOU SEE THE GREEN MAGICAL GLOW IN HIS EYES?*incoherent screaming*
No Romance. It was unnecessary and rushed in S1. This time they focused more on Loki needing friends and that was definitely a better choice imo and what they should have gone for in S1 too.
Sylvie's actions and personality framed as what they were. She wasn't put on a pedestal as this amazing different FeMaLe version of Loki. She was framed as a flawed character with wrong and right actions and beliefs.
Loki and Sylvie's talk in the pie land, about change, hope, fixing what's broken and being gods. That sigh before Loki saying "We are gods" with all the weight of the world on his shoulders. Wonderful acting.
The ending and its epic soundtrack.
Topics & Things That Could Have Been Handled Better:
The Topic of New York Invasion
"Sometimes a rage builds up and you just gotta let it out. Do you remember that time I was so angry with my father and my brother, I went down to Earth and I held the whole of New York city hostage with an alien army? Tried to use the mind stone on Tony Stark? It didn't work so I threw him off the building. It wasn't tactical. I lost it"
On the surface it looks like Loki's saying that's why he attacked New York and probably most people accept this without a second thought.
But the context of the scene matters. We see during the interrogation Mobius loses his temper. He was worried about Loki getting angry, but he was the one who loses his temper and hits Brad. Loki tries to calm him down by sympathizing with him to try and see what caused his behavior. It's the same thing he did for Thor in the first movie, before coronation and after it, while Thor was nervous and angry. What he says about New York while isn't the whole truth, it also isn't untrue. He was angry with Thor and Odin but as we know his anger and thoughts were influenced by the scepter. We also know Loki doesn't like to talk about his time with Thanos or being tortured. Instead he uses a half-truth, sth that is in character for Loki.
So the scene can be rationalized by this analysis but it's still annoying that this analysis is even needed. They should have been clear about the scepter's influence especially when mcu confirmed it.
Loki thinking about Thor's change as being a weakness. While both Thor and Loki were groomed and taught to consider being soft as a weakness, that wasn't Loki's true feelings. At least I don't think someone who prefers words and magic-that are considered a weakness in Asgard-over brawn thinks like that. His goal in the first movie was to goad Thor into fighting him. So the line should have been sth like this: "Asgard taught us being soft is a weakness, so I used that against Thor to goad him into a fight. I said he's gone soft…"
Plotholes and things that weren't explained.
Why Loki and Sylvie weren't sent to their original timelines like others? And why neither of them showed any interest in seeking their family? You're telling me Loki wants to see these people he knows for 10 seconds more than Frigga or Thor? OOC.
Sylvie's sudden mastery of magic since 1x06 isn't explained. She didn't know much, but then suddenly could do everything Loki did. I mean I can headcanon that her and Loki linking their power taught her some things but these sudden developments without any explanations are annoying.
Loki's genderfluidity. No mention of it at all. Although I believe that no representation is better than bad representation. And you should leave a topic alone if you don't understand it, otherwise you're gonna mess it up. Because bad rep can be more harmful. And so maybe it was a good thing mcu let that one go. But they could still fix it with some shapeshifiting, explaining its difference with illusions and Loki confirming that he is comfortable in her female form.
Loki's clothes. It's probably not that important in comparison with other issues but I really hate that beige suit. Why Sylvie who doesn't even want to be Loki and wasn't in Asgard since childhood changes into an Asgardian outfit for a fight and not Loki? Yeah I get it. It was because of the last reveal and transformation and finding his identity blah blah blah but at least they could have gave him his old Asgardian clothes or he could change the suit's color ugh
Criticism & Things I didn't like:
The ooc moments for Loki in some comedic scenes. Especially in episode 5. While the character has a comedic potential, it's not based on clownery or clumsiness. The best humorous moments for Loki are the ones where he outwits others, use sarcastic language or he is being outwitted despite his careful plans.
Certain emotional stakes aren't clear from the start. The audience know that saving TVA is the right thing because it protects all the freed timelines but they don't know why they should care? Or more accurately why Loki is so emotionally invested in this goal. That gets answered in episode 5 and while Loki's talk with Sylvie is a good emotional scene, the fact that it's stated so late in the story, makes the first few episodes boring when it comes to saving TVA.
The main reason the emotional stakes aren't clear(at least for me), I believe is because most of the people Loki call them his "friends",  haven't done anything to either deserve his friendship or aren't close enough to be considered a friend. Let alone someone Loki tries to move heaven and hell to be with them, instead of for example trying to find his brother and family. It is an issue which again is rooted in S1 and carried to S2. What happened in S1 wasn't therapy or a healthy friendship.
However, Loki being loyal to anyone who show him an ounce of affection or him being moral enough to try to save people are in character for him and that's sth good about it.
The torture scene.
The trick Mobius and Loki pulled was predictable as hell. I didn't even doubted Loki in TDW, let alone here. And even though I didn't believe for one second that Loki's actually going to hurt the guy, and he wasn't shown enjoying it, I still hated that he went along with the torture idea Mobius had come up with. Especially considering the fact that he was a victim of torture himself and never shown any sign in canon that he would torture someone. So yeah I hated that scene.
And why that scene was even necessary? Loki could get into X-5's mind when they weren't in TVA. We know he is capable of it. He did it both through mind stone in Avengers and in TR. how else they were going to delve into Mobius' problem though smh
But alright let's say they needed a scene like that. Still the whole Brad believing Mobius is against torture, and Loki's the one who would be in favor of it, is so fucking ridiculous. Any way you look at it, it has always been TVA and Mobius who did any torture we've seen during the two seasons. The tortures that Loki endured might I add. Even in the previous scene, it was Loki who didn't hit Brad and only tried to intimidate him non-physically by acting as a villain. It was Mobius who hit him, who was shown more affected by Brad's insults. So logically the scene they had planned to fool Brad, should have been played completely the opposite way. By having Mobius do the torture. At least it was recognized that the torture idea was from Mobius and both he and Loki gave the credits for it to Mobius.
Verity Willis. Hunter B15 unlike the Verity in comics, doesn't have a close friendship with Loki or truth detector powers. Not having a good friend like comics Verity for Loki, was such a wasted opportunity in the series.
Mobius saying to Loki "You're a man of action...". That was such a stupid, unnecessary line. As if the main difference between Loki and Thor wasn't Thor acting before thinking, and Loki thinking and planning before acting. While Loki is also a man of action, he is first and foremost a man of strategy. The only plausible explanation imo is that Mobius said it to not feel useless in comparison with Loki and his skills.
"Thor's not that tall". Yeah, no. I don't think Loki's reaction to seeing Thor and Odin's statues would be that. Knowing his brother and family were murdered by the very same people he's working with now. Remind me again why he's considering them "FrIeNdS"? Someone really needs to explain the concept of friendship to Loki. Or rather the writers of this show.
And while we are at it. Let's talk about how Loki's past and identity issues were completely swapped under the rug as if they were all magically fixed and didn't matter anymore. As if those weren't the most important part of his journey. Another issue rooted in S1.
Final Thoughts(for now :D)
Season 2 was definitely better than season 1. Not perfect, and not for those who care about OG Loki's issues. They set him on a completely different path in S1 and they messed up any chance to actually delve into his problems. So in S2 we're having a character that we're supposed to accept has moved on from certain issues, and now tries to find what he wants and where he belongs. Still, I think that they listened to the criticism for once as they tried to fix some of the problems of S1. After many years it didn't feel like that the creators hate the character, or using him as a prop, or a plot device. It was a story about Loki. A bittersweet story for the god of stories.

Ok so this image the official Scream twitter posted of the shrine has been eating my brain for days now.
Tumblr media
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GHOSTFACE? Just look at all the shit in this shrine! This isn’t just a Stab fanboy, because there’s stuff like the fax machine from Scream 3 and what looks like Richie’s shirt. This isn’t just a Billy/Stu fanboy because Mrs Loomis’s jacket’s in there, what looks like Kenny’s cap is in there, and again Richie’s jacket. But they also have crazy shit like Billy’s blood stained shirt, the robes Stu wore during the party, Tatum’s outfit, a recreation of Steve in the chair complete with the jacket, what looks like SKETCHES Stu or Billy made planning what they wanted to do to Casey, what looks like someone sketching portraits of Sidney Tatum Stu and Billy in the case next to tatum’s outfit, what looks like the CAMERA Gale used to film what went down in the house, there’s a gun next to Mrs Loomis’s jacket that looks just like the one she used, and what I think is most important, the ACTUAL GHOSTFACE COSTUME USED THAT NIGHT. Well, one of them at least, since most likely Billy did also get up at one point to help Stu out, meaning two ghosties were running around at once that night. It’s the only one behind protective glass, and you can see the blood stain on the right shoulder from where Sidney wore it (she was stabbed there and bleeding). If it’s the only one being that well cared for, it has to be the real deal. SO WHO THE FUCK WAS ABLE TO GET THEIR HANDS ON ALL THIS SHIT? Even if most of it is just recreations, HOW DID THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO CREATE? Why such obscure shit like Kenny’s hat? You don’t just recreate sketches when you don’t know someone did them in the first place. So who the fuck could get their hands on Stu/Billy’s art??
They made it clear at the end of Scream 2022 that they weren’t going to share the names or motives of the latest killers to try and break the cycle, so this is someone who KNOWS about Richie. There is a very small number of people in the know about what happened, so it’s someone we KNOW (theoretially). BUT, also someone who’s been religiously following ALL the ghostface murders since the beginning. AND it’s someone targeting Gale and Sam spesifically, NOT SIDNEY.
So, first obvious answer. Is this Stu? Honestly, I really don’t think so. Stu was never this obsessive, his end goal from the start was always just to have fun indulging in his dark desires, and because he loved Billy so much all he had to do was ask. Without a Billy, why would he be doing this? Especially to Billy’s daughter. Even if you want to go the route of he lived and is still full of that old hate, why would he be attacking Billy's daughter when presumably his motives would still be avenging Billy? At the end of the day, if Stu were to still be holding a grudge after all these years, his target would still be SIDNEY. Not Randy’s niece and nephew. Sure, Gale wrote the books that lead to the movies, which slammed the hell out of him, but his end goal has always been Sidney. Plus, the Ghostface we see in the trailers is someone who’s been training for this. They’re fast, agile, strong, they’re trying to be the ultimate killing machine. Even if we say that goofy ass Stu has been training all this time, he’s still at bare minimum, 44 years old. Sure, there’s some fit as fuck people in that age range out being commandos, but someone we know as a gangly stick tripping over his own feet? That and why would he collect stuff from the Stabs and murders not related to him? The Stab 3 case is the most prominant thing in that picture, and why would he track down and keep RICHIE's jacket? I love Stu to death, but it really doesn’t make sense that this is him as the killer.
A semi interesting theory, it’s Leslie Macher. She’s been there since day 1, she’d have some knowledge about Richie since her son was killed in the events of all that, and it’d make sense she’d have a grudge moreso focused on Gale since her books would have ruined her family. It’s implied her partner left her and she had to raise her son alone, if she kept the name Macher for any period of time she would have been hounded by people about what her brother did, given the way Stu seems genuinly upset about his parents finding out what he did it sounds like they were good people who’s lives would have been DESTROYED by what happened. If someone has a grudge against Gale, it’s Leslie. But she was Stu’s OLDER sister. All of the above about Stu’s age not matching the hardcore fitness killer we see apply to her moreso. Sure, she’d have the most direct access to things like Stu’s robes, sketches, the camera planted in her house, but how would she get her hands on all of the stuff not related to her brother. They don’t just let people walk into the police station and take evidence they’re not using anymore. It could be someone on behalf of Leslie, like how Mrs Loomis had her pet Mickey to run around and do the hard work while she cleaned up the mess, but that’s something we’ll just have to keep in mind until the movie comes out.
Another theory I’ve seen go around alot, it’s Sam’s new boyfriend Danny. Ok, kinda makes sense. Danny, like DBD Ghostface Danny, and the name of the irl killer than inspired Scream Danny. That has to be deliberate, or at least known by the film makers. But come on, are they really going to have “Ooo is it the boyfriend?!” for the 4th damn time. Plus with this focus on the history of the killings, why would the killer be just some random guy we met like 20 minutes ago? Unless Danny IS the little pawn mentioned in the above bit, but again are they really going to do the killer boyfriend song and dance *again*.
There's a neat theory it's Gale given this shrine is in New York, where she's lived the entire time, and she would have the means to get her hands on all this stuff since she’s the reporter who covered all these cases. But really guys come on, after all these years of getting shot and stabbed by these people, and getting the love of her live killed by one, is she really going to turn around now and go "You know, maybe they had a point". Plus, to go back to why I think it’s not Stu, Gale is even OLDER and has a far more messed up body. She's been shot in the gut at least 3 times now. There’s no way she’s our hardcore commando Ghostface. PLUS plus, the starting phone call of the movie is HER being attacked, so why would she stage that when no one would see it but us the audience?
So to round it all back. The killer is someone who knows and worships the history of those behind the ghostface masks. Given the ancient looking mask on display, they might even HAVE the original ghostface mask (or at least one of them, Billy and Stu used like 4 in that first film). They’re someone who could get their hands on things probably SIDNEY didn’t even know exsisted, like the sketches. This isn't just a Stab fan boy, this isn't just a Billy/Stu fanboy, AND it's someone who knows about what happened in the last movie even though they never made the names and motivations of the killers public.
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS GHOSTFACE???
This post will be fun to go back to in a month after the release of the movie lol.

Hudson and Rex S02E05 - Dead Man Walking
Tumblr media
That's a lie, from what I've seen it is mostly raining. In any kind of situation.
Mason calls and that's one more day of ruined plans. Work never stops.
In the real world, by the time Mason's blood results would have come out, he'd be dead already.
Tumblr media
Jesse the fanboy lol
I remember Dillon Casey from his Nikita days.
Of course Mason has an estranged family.
Tumblr media
Like what? He's dying, this is a "get your affairs in order" situation. Not everyone has plot armor, Charlie.
Living creepy gifts might not be the worst way to try to get someone to read your manuscript, but it's definitely up there.
Jesse definitely attracts and is attracted by the crazy girls.
Joe's theater background is revealed early enough. Funny how that detail survived long enough to become a case in S5.
Tumblr media
That will never not be ridiculous. Sorry.
Okay, with the force that Rex threw himself on the councilor I think it would be more likely for her to die from the fall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Cute as hell, but stubborn". Yep, that's Rex.
And then she tells Charlie to bring a date to blend in. And of course, Charlie only knows one Woman™
Tumblr media
"I know that you're working on the super impossible task of making an antidote of an unknown poison within 48 hours but could you also be my pretend date for tonight?" dude stop giving her more work.
Tumblr media
Cue fake date number I HAVE LOST COUNT ALREADY.
Tumblr media
They looked good. It's such a shame they didn't dance. I'm not even a huge fan of dancing but I'd be a big fan of them dancing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex might be occupied for a while.
As soon as they chose to focus on the politician I knew that the other case would have been the reason for Mason's poisoning.
No, I'm sorry but if someone had poisoned me and I thought I had them in my sights and I was holding a gun, I would have shot them. I don't know what the hell Charlie is saying about justice.
Tumblr media
If you think that it's far-fetched that Rex made Mason put down his gun with a "pretty please" look, then you're going to love Kommissar Rex where Rex's devastatingly sad look makes a man kill himself.
"I have an idea but it's not exactly by the book" "You're starting to sound like Mason". Joe, I need you to let go of the idea of squeaky clean Detective Charlie Hudson so that we can all move on with our lives. I mean, when he finds a reason in at least one case per season to disregard police procedure, I think you have a rogue on your hands.
While I like the plan of sending an email to "blackmail" the person who sent the email to Mason and send it to everyone at the party, the issue is that out of all the people who had nothing to do with it, some of them are bound to discuss receiving a weird email, right?
Of course Rex's hide and seek game at the start of the episode would prove to be useful later.
Tumblr media
"My dudes, the poison is right there! The fucking pen! It's the second time you're ignoring me!" (In my mind Rex swears a lot.)
Tumblr media
This is nothing in terms of its meaning within the scene but I like the shot.
It's amazing that no one else didn't accidentally touch the pen. It was there a long time. Couldn't Sarah have touched it towards the end of the episode? Just as they'd recognized the poison so that they'd quickly administer the antidote to her as well, but Charlie would already have a heart attack? Just an idea.
Tumblr media
I love this shot as well.
Mason before getting the antidote: Tell my ex wife I love her. Mason after the antidote: Sarah would you want to have a drink with me sometime?
Tumblr media
lol. Although who can fault him, right? Also, watch and learn, Charlie.
I don't know if it's worth mentioning but in some of the "dead man walking" episodes I've seen, in the end the poisoned person actually dies. Not that I'd expect that to happen here but it does make things interesting.

Underrated 2012 friendships that need more love
Casey & Leo
Leo is actually worried about Casey as a friend and they barley fight.
Tumblr media
Leo & Renet
Their friendship is cute af.
Leo comforting Renet, giving her hope and abt. the best introduction while Renet praises Leo often.
(also I start to see why some are actully shipping them lol, I prefer RenetAngelo but LeoxRenet is also pretty cute(better than yk what ship))
Tumblr media
Mikey & Mondo Gecko
Why are we talking so less about them?
Two chaotics where would probably accidentally set a city on fire.
Perfect.
Tumblr media
Karai & April after "City At War"
They grew on each other and are seeing fighting, protection & care for each other after being enemies for more than half the show.
Tumblr media
Leatherhead & Slash
Like, c'mon, these two giants are bffs.
Tumblr media
Donnie & Timothy
Donnie grew a lot towards during the show and cared about him.
Especially after Timothy's mutation, Donnie really started to care about him, even telling all his feeling towards him.
I mean, Donnie didn't wanted to hurt Mutagene Man even when he tried to kill Raph.
And Timothy...apparently had a crush on Donnie or was his biggest fanboy like ever.

would you lie with me and just forget the world?
by marvelouslysherlockedhunter “May I?” The man blinks. Alex crouches down while the man’s eyes widen comically. He wants to laugh. Yet, he picks up the phone and places it back on the table. With an easy smile, he says, “Hi.” Alex is not shy. Cameras have been shoved at his face since he was sixteen. He is definitely not shy, instead he is known for his loudmouth—his flamboyance. But what he is, is an idiot, well, a circumstantial idiot and now Zahra will kill him, nobody will ever find his body because he is flirting with a possible fan—a fan who kind of looks like two seconds away from passing out. Please don’t pass out on me , Alex tells himself. Then he stands up and watches as the initial shock slowly melts away from the man’s face. The tension in his expression eases, replaced by a softness that begins to reveal itself in the curve of his lips and the quiet light in his blue eyes. There’s a hint of confidence in his gaze. Alex is in trouble.  When an actor and a fan walks into a bar...erm, well, a coffee house. technically still on vacation but I’m stuck in the house for a bit until the storm totally passes. Don’t have much to do though since my consoles and puter are still back at my place. It’s honestly kinda funny, I’ve gotten four flash flood alerts on my phone within the past 24 hours. I am super glad you like both songs though sorry about the spotify thing I kinda overlooked that. I’m also happy you like being talked to because I sure do like to talk.
Anyway I said the next ask will be actually good and even if this is close behind I’ve got krang observations/facts!!
starting with the stuff I managed to gather off twitter
“What happened to the foot soldiers after they had been krangified in the movie, were they taken into custody or killed?
I think they just become Krang soldiers/slaves.”
Raph was real lucky he had his brothers, it sounds like the krang zombie thing is next to totally permanent
“I've mentioned this in a few other answers, but we would have learned the backstory that a Krang ship crashed into the back of the crying Titan and its fuel was the source of the ooze that energizes the yokai.”
This is really neat to me, since it does sorta explain why the krang were able to snatch their mystic powers at the start, at least to me. Plus just them being the origins of at least why yokai are as strong as they are is really cool.
Ok movie stuff yay, typing this as I watch so I definitely didn’t get everything and some of these may just be a tad obvious
Kinda stretching it to start, but the way you can hear genuine fear in Casey jr’s voice and general like mannerisms(?) at the krang starting to get summoned again does such a good job at showing how scary they are before we really see much of them(I know we kinda do but sh)
^ Adding on their intro is so cool?? Like the way I actually freaked when two(?) said it had been ages since she killed anything right after the insane beatdown from krang one, the fact they actually got one of the mcs is also just awesome like.
Moving past the fanboying(hopefully) and going back to the crying titan thing krang one points on that Raph isnt human so it is likely that the krang did cause yokai as a whole to show.
I had something here about the krang zombies but I realized it was wrong so pretend I said something else cool
Everything in the subway was horrifying
not a krang observation but I’m saying it anyway, April goes through it in this movie, obviously everyone does. But girl is human and early on she just gets tossed off her motorcycle and totally ignores any potential injuries
The way krangs two reacts to April melting a good chunk of her face makes me feel like the krang had never actually been injured
I said this in the headcanon yapping thing but now that I’m actually rewatching it, I’m pretty sure I was at least sorta right, the krang parasites goal was to get Leo to kill Raph. Krang one is obviously confident enough that he could kill Leo on his own, and it does generally align with how messed up they are. Right before Leo puts his swords away he does almost slash at Raph who just doesn’t move at all until he takes a step back because almost killed his brother. Probably not canon but it’s more emotionally destroying and therefore cool.
probably obvious but I’m saying it anyway, the reason Leo’s sacrifice came as such a shock was because of the lack of capability to form any sort of connections, the inability to even fathom why someone would act for anyone other then themself is what lead to their downfall
theres honestly not much for me to say here, this movie is awesome but I’m trying not to go “krang armor is sick :0” Because yes it is, but like we all know that. I can talk a *lot* about the turtles and probably April n Casey jr but I said krang and thats probably smarter because I’m stuck on my phone at the moment and typings just a bit more annoying.
-🍰
ooooooooooooo I like these. Very interesting observations/headcanons.
"The way krangs two reacts to April melting a good chunk of her face makes me feel like the krang had never actually been injured" - That's a good point. i dunno what to say to this, but my brain has latched onto it.
There's not much I can add onto any of these(haven't seen the movie in a hot minute tbh), but goodness I love them. Trade brains with me pls

Wedding Day
Pairing: Mickey 'Fanboy' Garcia x NavySEAL!Reader Summary: Your wedding day arrives and as usual there’s bound to be some playful banter with those you love. Warnings: None, tooth rotting fluff. Word Count: 903 A/N: It's my birthday and I wanted to post this fun little drabble as a gift to y'all! Hope you enjoy! TWAHF Masterlist
Tumblr media
To say you were nervous would be a complete understatement. The nerves kept you up much later than you would have liked, keeping you groggy for the better half of the morning.
You were just glad you had Mickey’s mom to help you get prepared. Once you were finished you looked at her through the mirror as she hugged you from behind, smiling with tears in her eyes. “You look breathtaking. Just as kind and beautiful as the shy little girl Mickey had been excited to bring home for the first time.”
Your dress was gorgeous, beyond anything you’ve ever dreamed of with the beautiful necklace she had gifted you in the morning.. It was a family heirloom that’s been passed down for generations, usually to the first married woman of the family. With Mickey being the oldest of two siblings and his younger sister not planning on getting engaged any time soon, it went to you, no matter how much you declined.
A few tears slipped as you hugged her tighter to you. “Thank you so much for everything. I don’t think I’d be where I am now without you or the family, you mean the world to me.”
The remaining hour went by in a flash. The venue was decorated with an assortment of fairy lights, giving it an ethereal glow. You both had invited a handful of people, a few family members and your closest friends, wanting to have a small wedding. Mickey was beaming with joy while trying to contain his crying as you both said your vows, you were no better. His best man and best friend Reuben had subtly handed you both tissues causing your heart to soar as you thought about your now husband having wonderful people in his life that cared deeply for him.
Your first kiss shared as husband and wife had completely swept you off your feet, your friends and family cheered loudly with a few hoots and hollers coming from the back. You were so enraptured by the kiss you didn’t realize Mickey had swept you up and carried you towards the reception area. The group had followed heading to their seats as all the food was being served.
“How are you feeling, Mrs. Garcia?” Mickey beamed at you.
“Absolutely in love, Mr. Garcia.” Winking at him, you leaned over and gave him a peck. It was so easy to get lost in each other. After all, you two had practice since you were five. You had a whole life together and were ready for more, greedily taking what you could get.
“You two are so sickly cute it’s disgustingly endearing. Remind me to nausea meds when I’m around the both of you,” Reuben teased you both. He was sitting at the table next to Mickey, shoving food in his mouth with a grin.
“Oh, I second that. It was bad enough I was forced to see her read the novels he sent her but now I have to see them interact in person.” Casey, your best friend who was your maid of honor chuckled. She sipped on her drink next to you with her date on the other side hiding a laugh with her hand.
“Hey, I wasn’t that bad. And those letters were sweet.” You grumbled under your breath causing the whole table to laugh. In all honesty, you were down bad.
She raised an eyebrow at you, “Need I remind you of the events leading to your callsign, Wraith?” She had got you there, not even your loving husband knew about that.
“Nope!” You squeaked, cheeks turning a dark crimson color. Reuben gave a questioning look to Mickey who shrugged back. He knew of your callsign, just not the story of how it came to you.
“Now you have to tell us. You can’t expect us not to bite the bait you’ve just thrown at us.”
Casey opened her mouth to speak but stopped at the look you gave her, instead she shrugged. “Sorry. Lips are sealed.”
“How wonderful,” you replied dryly, shaking your head at her. The others protested, wanting to hear the story that managed to ruffle your feathers. “I promise it’s nothing too interesting. She’s just making it out to seem like more than it really is.”
“I beg to differ,” Casey said behind her glass, smirking at you from the memory but relented in the end. It wasn’t everyday she got to tease you endlessly which had been payback for all the times you’ve done it to her. But she knew her limits and didn’t plan on crossing that line lest it fall back on her.
Reuben perked up at the exchange, “You’re not getting out of it that easily, I will expect an explanation some time in the future. As for now, go have your first dance you two lovebirds.” He and Casey had all but pushed you and Mickey out of your seats towards the makeshift dance floor.
Giggling at their antics you grabbed Mickey’s hand in yours pulling yourself into his embrace as the music played after the announcement of your first dance.
Finally having a moment to yourselves without any interruptions before the rest of the party joins you.
You looked up at him, completely love-struck, eyes shining with emotion. “I love you, Mr. Garcia.”
“I love you more, Mrs. Garcia.” He smiles, leaning down and pulls you into a kiss.

Y'all.
Episode 4.
It's the best piece of work Marvel has made after they made IW and Endgame.
spoiler alert 🚨
.
.
.
.
.
.
lemme start off with our favourite Miss Jolly Rancher Unhinged Clock and Victorian-Era HWR Fangirl. I KNEW Ravonna had somehow helped HWR in building the TVA, but him erasing her memories was straight up evil.
Then we come to the absolutely gruesome deaths of Dox and the others. HOLY SHIT MISS JOLLY RANCHER IS AWFUL like she was enjoying every second of Dox and her hunters literally getting crushed to their deaths. B-15 was traumatised, to say the least and you can see on Ravonna and Brad's faces a hint of disgust. But Miss Minutes grinning like that - outright disturbing.
I can't get over OB and Victor fanboying over each other's work - it was so funny yet wholesome.
Now let's talk about Loki and Sylvie. As a diehard Sylki stan you know I am, my fangirling heart was overjoyed seeing these two lovesick ducks working together willingly! I mean, yea, they did have that rather awkward talk in Pie Land (mind you that's it's official name henceforth) but after that they worked together as teammates! Now I must say, I completely agree with Sylvie on snapping on Mobius, because, well, yeah, the multiverse is a bigger priority than pie and I legit don't get why tf antis hate on Sylvie for doing so. Like you hated her for not giving a damn abt the TVA + the multiverse, but now when she stood up to do so y'all are hating on her again?? Like?? Make up ur mind, smh.
Anyways, back to Sylki. Sylvie got stuck in the elevator and the way she and Loki worriedly called out each other's names was so soft! And the "You ok?" trope CAME BACK OMG! THAT PHRASE IS LITERALLY THE BACKBONE OF SYLKI! When I tell you my fangirling heart screamed with joy omg-
The the whole paradox scene which brought Ep 1 back in a circle. I absolutely loved the way our Loki realised what he had to do and went real slow to prune his past self just so that Past Loki could get a glimpse of Sylvie; which would then lead him to be more determined than ever to go look for her. And I quite literally died on Sylvie being confused af as to wtf she just witnessed.
Then there's the telephone scene. OH MY GOD it was literally OB all this time when fans were out here speculating it was Kang or someone lmao. Both Loki and Sylvie yelling simultaneously to turn the security thing off gives out so much Couple Vibes, I absolutely loved it AAHHAHAH-
AND. THE. BRAD. SCENE. OOF.
our friendly neighbourhood lovesick ducks teaming up to enchant Brad was just too good. Loki in his hot, creepy voice luring Brad into a dark area while Sylvie very swiftly just straight up grabbing his face from the back - pure horror. Absolutely loved it, 10/10. Tho I must say, to do execute elaborate scheme, these two must have done some detailed planning (=more Sylki moments we were robbed off).
BUT THAT ENDING DUCKING MURDERED ME BROO OMG
Can we talk abt Victor's redemption? Man had been portrayed as evil since Quantumania, and has been manipulated by both Ravonna and Miss Jolly Rancher, but at the end of the day, he was a sweetheart. Man fanboys OB and basically became besties with him and Casey, worked together to create the solution to a mess he most certainly didn't want to be a part of, and then himself stepped up to fix the Loom once and for all to prove to everyone (and not let Sylvie's choice of sparing him go to waste) that tho he contained HWR's DNA, he wasn't HWR - he was a far better person HWR could have ever been. Seeing him getting spaghettified was tragically heart-wrenching, man deserved so much better :(
BUT HOLY SHIT DID THAT ONE HECK OF A GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER LEFT ME SPEECHLESS LIKE WTF WAS THAT?? U can't just kill off a character who had redeemed himself, and then make our main character and his homies watch literally EVERYTHING THEY WORKED SO HARD FOR GET ANNIHILATED TO THE GROUND-
But we know our God of Mischief isn't dead, and so are his homies eheheh.
However the looks on everyone's face was tragic. Loki knew all was lost and had tears in his eyes. Sylvie looked like she had accepted defeat and her death. Mobius and OB were in denial, refusing to believe that Victor was dead. Casey and B-15 looked horrified, as they realised what was to come now upon them.
Tldr, this episode was an ABSOLUTE BANGER. IM READY TO CLAIM IT SUPERIOR THAN ENDGAME, come and fight me. Its a top cinematic piece, and the suspense to Ep 5 is eating me up.
Ig i should go and study for the 4 tests this week before ep 5 ;-;

First thoughts on Loki S2 Ep 2
*Spoilers ahead*
Well, that was not quite as exciting as episode 1, but it was still a solid episode. And my biggest fear (that Loki’s characterisation would revert to his Season 1 version) didn’t happen.  So I consider this a win! 😊
The scenes before the opening credits were the most fun. And Loki was powerful, menacing, and intelligent, and used his magic, and all was excellent!  I particularly liked the shot where he’s walking down the alley towards the camera after blowing Brad off his feet.  (It’s kinda creepy how much  it feels like this whole sequence was targeted at people like me lol! Like someone took Season 1!Loki and purposely tweaked a few things here and there to address my main concerns.)
Tumblr media
I like that we got to see more of OB and also Casey.  Though I wasn’t quite sure if it was intended as a gag or not that they kept finding reasons to reference or show OB. I know it’s just the fact that this is a separate show that was developed after S1, but it did make me giggle how much they suddenly need OB when they never needed him for anything in the first season. 😊 But I like him, so that’s all good.
I thought it was adorable that Casey is a TVA geek and is fanboying over meeting OB.
I hadn’t really been looking forward to Sylvie and Loki meeting again (beyond curiosity at how it would go down), but it wasn’t too bad. I prefer them at each other’s throats than down each other’s throats. *shrug* I was surprised though at just how unhappy Sylvie was to see Loki.  I guess I’d assumed she’d fought him at the end of time because she believed she was right and her cause was too important, but that she would have preferred not to have had to hurt Loki to achieve it.  So would have been perhaps feeling more guilty than angry, but clearly not!  I have to assume Loki disagreeing with her felt like much more of a betrayal, and she’s kept those embers warm for however long she’s been in 1982.  Or was it that Loki shows up working for the TVA again after everything they went through?
The first scene with Brad in the cell where he was getting under everyone’s skin was weird.  I felt like Loki has had time to come to terms with the events on the sacred timeline and what happens to Frigga etc, and certainly the audience has been encouraged to move quickly past that, so it felt strange that we were expected to believe that a few taunts would get under Loki’s skin so badly.  I’m still not sure if we were supposed to assume he was acting, or if his reaction was real.
And then the fake out scene in the cell with Brad was interesting. I don’t think I as the audience was in the right place for this to work well.  I feel like at this point the audience is not going to be likely to believe that Loki is going to so quickly murder someone. Or is that more likely to work well for a casual audience?  That I really can’t tell. Lol! So if it’s being played with the understanding the audience is in on the plan (to some degree, but maybe not 100% certain) then what were we supposed to make of it? I feel like it needed more build up to be believable – perhaps over several episodes.  I’m trying to think of a time when Loki has been shown hurting someone in a calm and methodical manner, and I’m coming up short.  All the things we’ve seen have been in the heat of battle or in extreme emotional distress or manipulation. I would have preferred a battle of wits, or Loki somehow using words and intelligence to outsmart his opponent.  This just didn’t sit quite so well with me (although I’ll take this over bumbling idiot any day). I guess it would have taken a lot of backstory to develop a situation where Loki would outsmart Brad and they didn’t have the time for that.  I’d hardly call it mischief though.
I didn’t like the way the reference to the events of Avengers in the little heart to heart over suspicious pie. I would have preferred that to have been touched on more obliquely, rather than in such a straight up light-hearted way.  And I think I was still just a little weirded out about the previous scene and both Loki and Mobius’ reactions to Brad.
The wider plot about trying to stop the destruction of the branched timelines seemed to come and go so quickly that I didn’t have the time to take in the gravity of the situation before the audience was asked to feel with so strongly as B15, Sylvie and everyone else at the TVA.  There were long lingering shots of people being sad that I wasn’t feeling the matching emotion for right then.  But perhaps I shouldn’t have watched this so late at night.  :p  I’ll have to give this another watch later on and see how it lands.
So it seems that the adventure in Episode 1 did manage to fix Loki’s time slipping problem.  So now I’m confused, because I’m sure there were shots in the trailer of this that we didn’t see in Ep 1.  Can anyone confirm?
So all in all, I still liked the episode, but it wasn’t as strong as the first one. And now that we've found Sylvie I curious to see where this is going to go.
