bdubs is so cool hes the reason i hate describing things as content wdym this is content its so much more, it’s craftsmanship, it’s meticulous detail and love and care and deliberate thought and aaaa his videos are crafted so well, i love how he takes the time to explain his process and then uses a building montage not sped up to not only include us in the process but really emphasize that this is thoughtful art not just a build that appears out of nowhere. ugh if stop and smell the roses were a guy it would be bdubs. his videos are just so engagingggg and the humor in them also rules and i could listen to bdubs talk for hours and hours because something about his sentence structures and vocal inflections just draw attention and are so fun. what a guy. also does anyone else watch his old vlogs and experience a deep sense of yearning.
#help girl the bdubs videos are such masterpieces theyve got me talking about vocal inflections#also im so so serious about the yearning i want to have a family like that someday#hes so cool and funny and awesome and he deserves to hear it shouted from the rooftops!!#bdubs#hc10#sowwy i had to get this out my system#mightaswellspeak

Could we get this time an Eduardo x Reader x Edd fighting for the reader during PowerEdd?
Funny how I saw this after I re-watched that Eddisode XD I went the platonic route bc I think it's more amusing to see them fight for Reader's friendship
.......
"Holy shi-"
As you swerved the car, narrowly missing the crashed vehicle in front of you, that's when you realized it was Tom's. You hit the brakes and got out to investigate why it was flipped over.
But you noticed Matt was inside, so you rushed over and knelt down by the broken window. "Matt! You okay?!"
Fortunately, he wasn't badly hurt as he opened his eyes, grinning upon seeing you. You were one of the friendlier neighbors, thank goodness.
"I'm alright, [y/n]!" He said as you helped wriggle him free from the car wreckage. "Is my face alright, though?"
"It is, don't worry. Now-"
"Oh look!!" He pointed to the sky, and you followed his gaze. You could see two men in green costumes fighting each other, throwing kicks, punches, and energy beams. It was like something straight out of an action film.
"Damn that's crazy. But where's Tom and Edd?" You looked back at Matt, confused.
"Ah..funny story." He began. "Edd got these crazy-awesome superpowers! But so did Eduardo...and he destroyed the bacon, cola, and cotton factories so Edd brought us here to fight him! Though he threw the car at Eduardo and then he punched Tom-"
"Wait, wait..you mean to tell me that's Edd and Eduardo in the sky?"
"Yeah!"
"And they're gonna kill each other..."
"It's cool, right?! Let's get a selfie-!!" But when Matt looked over, you had disappeared, instead running over to where the two men were still fighting.
Eduardo had slammed Edd into the concrete, shouting that he'll be "coming in second place" as he manifested a massive energy ball. But before he could throw it, you called out to him.
"Eduardo!! Stop!"
With a groan, Edd opened his eyes, surprised but relieved to see you arrive just in time. "[Y/n]! You made it-!"
"Oh no..don't even TRY it," Eduardo spat, scowling at his rival. "You always get everything you want!! I won't let you have them!!"
"Are you listening to me?! What's this all about?"
He turned to you, the energy ball in his hands shrinking significantly as he frowned. "You may hate me for this, and I'm sorry, but...I promised you I'd be numero uno someday!! I've had enough of being second place. The laughing stock!! I'm DONE!!"
At first you didn't know what "promise" he was talking about, but then....you remembered something from long ago:
~Flashback~
Despite your art project coming in third place, you weren't too upset. In fact, you were quite proud of it as you admired it on the easel.
Your other classmates left a few minutes ago, taking theirs home: Tord drew a giant red robot, Tom made a big purple monster, Matt painted a mirror with him in its reflection, and Edd hugged his sloppily-drawn superhero persona, grinning as he bragged about being "number one".
Hearing a sob, you turned around to see Eduardo crying in the corner of the classroom. As you walked over, you frowned upon seeing his duck painting on the floor and decided to put it back on the easel.
You're the only one who didn't taunt him for coming in second place, whereas everyone else did. It was wrong and mean; you didn't think it was fair for the teacher to suddenly give Edd first place, either.
"Hey, um.." You began, crouching down in front of the sobbing boy. "I got third place if it helps..you did better than me."
"B-But I wanted first!!" He looked up at you with a face full of snot and tears. "Edd always gets first! It's not fair! I just wanna be better than him.."
"Well...I liked your drawing best."
Eduardo sniffled in response, wiping his nose. "R-Really?"
You nodded and put your arms out, offering him a hug. "I'm sorry everyone teased you. You deserved first place."
However, he seemed wary of your intentions, as he just frowned and hugged his knees. "Wh-Why did you stay? You're always walking home with Edd."
"I couldn't leave knowing my best friend would be all alone and sad."
He blinked in astonishment. "I-I'm..your best friend?"
"Yeah! He's just a friend, so..you're first place in my friendships." You reassured him.
Now your words finally got through to him. He grinned from ear-to-ear and accepted your hug. "Thanks, mi amigo..I-I promise I'll be better than him someday!"
~Flashback End~
Eduardo seemed to remember as well, as he rubbed the tears from his eyes and growled. "And today's that day!" His hair became neon green.
"You helped me at my lowest point, [y/n]..and I never forgot that. So join me and we'll put that loser of a neighbor in his place--second place, that is!" He laughed evilly, levitating off the ground.
You looked past him and towards Edd, who was wiping the blood from his mouth. It was clear that his strength was waning, and you were merely giving him time to recharge.
But the realization hit you: the reason why they were always fighting, even before superpowers entered the picture.
It was because of you and the simple fact that you befriended them both. Maybe Edd was angrier at the destroyed factories that produced his favorite things, but Eduardo couldn't comprehend you being friends with his rival.
Only you could stop this from escalating into something catastrophic.
"You don't have to prove anything."
"..huh?" Eduardo's glowing hair faded back to normal as he stared down at you, confused.
"I know we kinda drifted apart over the years but..you're still my best friend. Edd hasn't taken your place at all." You smiled. "Honestly you're both pretty cool and it'd suck if I lost either of you."
Edd overheard your words, as he emerged from the crater and flew over to you. He bumped into his still-perplexed rival. "You really mean that, [y/n]?"
"I do. So c'mon guys, enough's enough. Killing each other just to get my attention isn't the way. There's nothing you gotta prove to me."
"I...." Eduardo lowered himself to the ground. "I'm still numero uno in your friendships? Even after all this time?"
"Yes, you're-"
However you were cut off by a loud roar, and you yelped in surprise as a giant one-eyed monster leaped down in front of you three. It seemed confused by the lack of fighting between Edd and Eduardo.
The two took your yelp as a scream of terror and looked at each other for a moment. Then together they manifested one giant beam that blasted the monster into the sky, far away from you.
But that was apparently the last of their energy reserves, as their costumes disappeared, switching back to normal civilian clothing.
Eduardo seemed dazed, and you let him lean on you for support. "Ugh..you okay?"
"Yeah." You chuckled, glad to see them both working together for once, before noticing Edd was still floating in the air.
He noticed Eduardo lost his powers and was about to laugh at him, though your scowl silenced him quickly. Eventually he lost his powers, too, as a bee startled him, sending him to the ground.
"I'll admit..you did deserve first place. My drawing sucked.." He told his neighbor, who looked at him in surprise.
You just smiled. How ironic that an ordinary person like you saved the day.
"Now..how about we settle this over some cola and diet cola?"

cosplays and crushes [penelope garcia x reader]
penelope garcia x fem!reader warnings: none word count: 2.3k
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
The hot San Diego sun had started to set on the line full of costume-clad convention goers. Penelope and Spencer, decked out in their Doctor Who and Rose Tyler cosplays, had been camped out since 4 in the afternoon. They just so happened to be in San Diego for a case when Rossi surprised the two nerds with tickets to Comic Con. Hotch had already agreed to giving them the weekend off in order to attend the event, saying they deserved the break and to be around people who understand what they're talking about. After some pushback from Spencer and Penelope, not because they didn't want to go but because they didn't want to be out of state if there was an emergency, they gladly accepted the tickets. The rest of the team, having been aware of the surprise, had already booked hotel rooms at a fancy hotel in San Diego as well. They had all decided that it was time for a well deserved break from their demanding jobs.
Currently, Spencer and Penelope were in line for the Doctor Who panel. They were surrounded by people who shared their love of the show. While everyone there were all dressed in cosplays and costumes, one specific person caught Penelope's eye. Well, technically, she noticed the girl as soon as they arrived in line. This particular girl had (Y/H/C) and was dressed as (Y/F/C). She was there, apparently by herself. After two hours of constant chatting with Spencer about what they are looking forward too, their theories of previous cases, and Penelope's not so secretive constant checking to see if maybe the beautiful stranger's friends had finally showed up, Penelope had finally gathered the courage to introduce herself to the lonely girl. Spencer, being the expert profiler he is, had already picked up on Garcia's growing curiosity about the lonesome girl.
Spencer leaned close to Penelope, to ensure that the girl wouldn't hear him, and whispered, "Just talk to her Pen. She won't bite."
"Aw but I like it when they bite," Penelope whined jokingly, winking at the now blushing Spencer. She pinched his cheek, "Oh ease up, kiddo. I'm kidding. I would talk to her but what if she shoots me down? She is way out of my league. Besides, what am I supposed to say?"
"Pen, believe me, she is not out of your league. She's here isn't she? You two are in the same league. Just talk to her." Spencer tried to convince her. If the girl they were talking about wasn't so close, Spencer might have also mentioned that he noticed the girl looking at Penelope also. But for now, he'd keep that too himself.
Penelope took a deep breath, making eye contact with Spencer, who gave her a small reassuring small, before turning around to face the girl. She waved before introducing herself, "Uh, hi! My name is Penelope and this is my friend Spencer! I really like your costume! (Y/F/C) is one of my favorites!"
"Oh hi!" she waved at spencer slightly before directing her attention back to Penelope. "My name is Y/N! Thank you so much! It took forever to make. I like yours too! Where are you from?"
"We're from Virginia, we were out here for work and one of our co-workers surprised us with tickets. How about you? Where are you from?"
"Oh that's awesome! I'm actually from Virginia also! How funny! I live in Richmond for work but when I'm not working I live in (Y/H/T)." Y/N said, her eyes lighting up when she heard that the pretty girl in front of her lived in the same state as her. "If it's not too much to ask, where do you guys live? I'm not a stalker I swear." She added quickly.
Spencer and Penelope shared an amused look, before laughing slightly.
"We live in Quantico. Spence and I work for the FBI." Penelope hoped it was okay that she told this stranger that she was an FBI agent. However, Spencer didn't stop her so she assumed it was okay. "What do you do for work?"
"Oh well I am an elementary school teacher so when school is session, I live in Richmond but during summer I go back home to help out my family. It's not the best situation but I make it work," She laughed slightly. Penelope decided then and there that she loved Y/N's laugh. "Anyway, what do y'all do for the FBI, that is if you're allowed to say."
"Well I am a tech analyst for the Behavioral Analyst Unit, or the BAU as we call it. So I basically research suspects, victims, open cases, stuff like that and send it to the team." Penelope explains, being careful not to spill too much about her job.
"And I'm a profiler for the BAU. So while Penelope is at the office, the other agents and I are in the field, examining crime scenes and catching serial killers and bad guys," Spencer explained.
"Wow, you guys have such cool and important jobs." Y/N said.
"Yeah, I guess we do," Penelope said, smiling brightly at Y/N. "So are you here by yourself?"
"Unfortunately. My girlfriend was supposed to come but uh she broke up with me two weeks ago and it was too late to refund the tickets. I needed time away from there anyway" Y/N looked sad as she explained. Penelope looked at Spencer, her eyes silently pleading with him. Spencer looked at Y/N, then at Penelope, before slightly nodding his head.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry, hon! If you'd like, you can stick with Spencer and I. We're staying at the main hotel with our coworkers. You are more than welcome to join us!" Penelope said, silently cursing herself for sounding so eager. How she already managed to have feelings for this girl so fast was beyond her. Normally, it took her a few days before developing feelings for someone. Yet here she was, having the most mundane conversation with this random girl.
Thoughts started zooming around in Penelope's brain. Surely it has to be fate that they were both here. Penelope never planned on going to Comic Con until a few days ago. She didn't even plan on going to this panel because she had thought they missed it. And yet, here she was, talking with the prettiest girl she had ever seen. She almost couldn't form proper sentences. Y/N's smile seemed to cause her brain to short-circuit.
"Are you sure? I don't want to impose. This is your guys vacation." Y/N hesitantly said.
"It's fine, really, Y/N. It would be fun. Comic Con isn't a place to be alone at." Spencer cut in, a small smile stretching across his face. This was the first time he had seen Penelope act like this in front of a girl, and with everything that Penelope did for him and the team, he figured it was time he did something for her.
Y/N contemplated for a second. A very small part of her was saying no, because she had just met these people. But then she reasoned that they are FBI agents so they wouldn't hurt her. She also already had started developing a small crush on Penelope. She knew she shouldn't of been catching feelings so quickly. It had only been two weeks since her ex had broken up with up her. However, in this moment, Y/N could care less. If her ex didn't want to be with her anymore, that was no longer her problem. She couldn't spend the rest of her life being sad about someone who did not care about her anymore.
"If you're sure about this, then of course! You guys seem really fun and I'd love to hangout!" Y/N agreed.
Penelope and Y/N shared a smile, getting momentarily lost in each others eyes. They stayed like that until Spencer nudged Penelope with his elbow. Once they were broken out of their trance, Penelope and Y/N had realized that the line had finally started moving. Once they got into the panel, Y/N, Penelope, and Spencer sat down as close to the front as possible. Throughout the panel, Y/N and Penelope silently fangirled as Spencer watched intently, no doubt trying to memorize everything that everyone said. Not that he had to try.
At the end of the panel, around 9:00 at night, the trio was trying to figure out where to go for dinner. Spencer, who was eager to tell Derek about Penelope's new love interest, excused himself to the hotel for the night, saying he was too tired and to go out without him.
"Let's go change into normal clothes and meet up in 15 minutes? We can go to the hotel bar or go to a restaurant in town?" Y/N asked, secretly hoping this dinner would turn into a date. The day she had spent with Penelope was one of the best days she had had in a long time. Even when she was with her ex-girlfriend. Penelope agreed before they headed to their respective rooms to change into clothes for the evening.
After they got ready, they met in the hotel lobby and decided on staying at the hotel restaurant and bar. Penelope decided against going into town because of what she sees everyday in her line of work. Y/N did not mind, she just wanted to spend time with Penelope.
The two had ended up getting kicked out of the hotel bar, having stayed until 2 in the morning. They had decided to make their way to the pool to just sit and talk.
"Thank you for the wonderful night, Penny," Y/N said, smiling at the slightly taller girl. Y/N was slightly tipsy, leaning her head against Penelope's shoulder.
"You know, I think you're one of the first people to call me Penny, doll face," She said giggling a bit harder than she should have. "You're welcome, sweetcheeks. I had an amazing time tonight also."
Little did the two girls know, the BAU team (with the exception of Hotch, who insisted that he had better things to do than spy on Penelope's first date) were hiding along the row of chairs behind them to get a good look at the scene unfolding in front of them.
Y/N and Penelope stared at each other for a second before a voice shouted, "JUST KISS ALREADY!" The two of them jumped about five feet in the air before looking back to see JJ and Emily pulling Spencer back to the ground to hide him from the two.
"Might as well give the people what they want," Penelope said, wiggling her eyebrows. Y/N smiled for what felt like the millionth time that day, before nodding her head.
The two leaned forward, pausing for a second to look each other in the eyes, before leaning in all the way. Penelope brought her hands up to Y/N's face, one on her cheek, the other on the back of her neck. Y/N put both of her hands on Penelope's cheeks. They stayed like that for a few moments, the soft kiss seemingly having lasted longer than a few seconds. They pulled apart, catching their breaths.
"Wow," Y/N breathed out. A smile and blush had forced their way onto her face, as she looked at Penelope.
"Wow," Penelope repeated, staring into Y/N's eyes.
"I SHIP!" Spencer shouted from where he, Derek, Emily, JJ, and Rossi were supposed to be hiding. Penelope broke her stare from Y/N, turning to face her not so secretive friends.
"Ok, who let him drink tonight?" Penelope shout back to her friends.
"You know, for FBI agents, your friends aren't all that sneaky." Y/N said, smiling slightly before kissing Penelope again. The group of FBI agents all hooted and hollered jokingly at Penelope and Y/N.
"Alright you idiots, lets all get to bed before we anger Garcia enough to make her hack all of our records," Rossi said to the team, trying to get them to leave. He was met with a few groans and 'okay dad's, but everyone got up and followed him out of the pool area. As soon as they were sure they were by themselves, they pulled apart from the kiss.
"I know we just met and you're fresh out of a relationship, but Y/N, I uh I really like you. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be with you. I can wait as long as you-" she was interrupted by yet another small kiss.
"Penny, I like you a lot too. And I want to be with you too. But it's going to take a bit of time before I get into another relationship." Y/N explained.
"Of course, take all the time you need, sweetie," Penelope said. The two girls cuddled up next to each other for a few minutes before deciding to call it a night. Penelope walked Y/N to her hotel room with promises of an early breakfast the next day.
"Goodnight Y/N," Penelope said, before kissing Y/N's cheek.
"Goodnight Penny," Y/N said, kissing Penelope's cheek as well. She unlocked her door and stepped instead, saying goodnight one final time before watching Penelope walk back down the hall to the elevator. Before she got into the elevator, Penelope waved back at Y/N before dramatically blowing a kiss down the hall. Y/N playfully got the kiss and placed her hand on her cheek, waiting for the elevator doors to close, before making her way into her own room. She was unable to stop smiling the whole time she got ready for bed. This was the best day ever.

Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6 Pt.7 Pt.8 Pt.9
When you closed the door, you had to catch your breath. You leaned against it with your eyes closed as a slight smile grew on your face. A little blush dusting over your cheeks, causing rising heat to roam your skin. You opened your eyes and saw Rumor looking at you. He had his head tilted with judgmental eyes.
“What?” You asked. He only gave you a snort with eyes that said “don’t act like you don’t know.”
“I’m not falling for blondie. It’s just fun to flirt.” You said, trying to reassure both Rumor and yourself. Rumor let out wails like he was talking to you saying “mhmmm.”
“What? It’s true! We have a mission Rumor.” You said as you layed down under the covers.
Flashback
As Kurogiri busted through the door to the LOV’s hideout, he shouted.
“SHIGARAKI!” He yelled out of breath.
The villains looked around at the man. Why was he out of breath? Where had he been? Why wasn’t Y/N with him?
“What’s going on?” Dabi asked the steam of purple.
“I-it’s Y/N! Earser-Head took her!” Kurogiri said.
“WHAT?!” In came shigaraki, now yelling in shock. “How dare you lose that girl?! Do you understand how valuable AND dangerous she is? She is with the heroes now, they’ll tell her everything about us, and she’ll grow an opinion. She’ll kill all of us.” He seethed out as he held Kurogiri by his neck collar.
“I understand! But- but look!” Kurogiri said holding up your earring you threw at him. “She left behind this!” Once seeing the piece of jewelry, Skigaraki calmed down. He took the gem in his hands.
“Smart girl...this is a communication device. I gave these to Y/N if trouble were to ever happen so she could contact us without the call being tracked,” he explained. “Y/N! ..Titania!...Y/N? Can you hear me?!” He screamed into the earring.
“.........Loud and clear Shigaraki,” Y/N’s voice was heard from the gem and everyone looked alive. They all settled and began to ask her questions.
“Y/N, what the hell is going on?” Dabi asked.
“Eraser-Head took me. He brought me to UA and they’re keeping me in an interrogation room. He said he sees good in me and wants me to enroll here.” You explained.
“UA...” Shigaraki echoed.
“That’s right. And I have a plan. We’ll take em down from the inside.” You offered your idea.
“Explain.” Shigaraki said.
“You have me. I’ll gather intel. All the places where UA will be traveling to, all their plans, all their strengths and weaknesses. I can tell you it all and you guys can come up with a plan on how to attack. My suggestion would be that you should attack them when traveling. Do it subtly. I’ll tell you their future plans and you’ll come up with loopholes. I’ll report their strengths and weaknesses and when you’re ready, we do a full scale attack on the school. Bring as many villains as we can to help and win.” When you were done explaining, the villains shared a look. Except Shigaraki. He was 100% in on this plan.
“I expect a report every day. Tell us whatever happened, whatever you learned or found out. You tell us everything.” Shigaraki said.
“Understood.” You replied.
“Good.”
Present Time
You sighed at the memory. Rumor noticed your displeasure and came up beside you on the bed. He cuddled into you side to help you calm down. You pet his head as you turned to lean into his soft fur.
“...we can’t get distracted. No boys, no luxury, no hero life, no UA life. We’re villains...that’s all we’re good enough to be.” You said to remind yourself. As you shut your eyes and drifted off to dreamland, Rumor looked at you and sighed.
‘She deserves UA though. She deserves a happy life. She’s more than good enough.’ Rumor thought.
Bakugou’s POV
As Bakugou walked off to his room with a satisfied smile on his face, he thought back to what happened. It made him stop in his tracks in shock.
‘What the fuck is happening to me?’ Bakugou thought. Since when does he act all flirty? And when did he start blushing? And why does his heart speed up at the thought of Y/N? ‘Maybe I just need to sleep in off.’
As Bakugou walked into his room, he saw Kaminari and Kirishima mocking him.
“Mwuah, Mwuah, Mwuah, oh Y/N, I love you so much,” Kirishima said pretending to hold a girl in his arms and kissed the air.
“Oh, I love Princess so much! Mwuah!” Kaminari mimicked. Bakugou only growled at the two and blushed in embarrassment.
“What the hell are you two idiots doing here?” Bakugou asked.
“Well we came to hang but then we got hungry while waiting for you and searched for snacks but we saw you and Y/N going in for a kiss~” Kaminari said wiggling his brows.
“And then we saw Mr. Aizawa hit you with adoption papers and then kicked you guys out the kitchen. We also saw you run to Y/N and peck her cheek~” Kirishima added on. “You crushing on the new girl?”
“Am not.” Bakugou replied.
“Are too.” Kaminari said. “Makes sense. She’s crazy hot, super powerful, and full of personality. She’s pretty freaking awesome.”
“Yeah c’mon man, we’re friends and we won’t tell if you do like her.” Kirishima reassured.
“I don’t like her, shitty hair.” Bakugou stated. “I mean, yeah. She’s beautiful, and she’s funny, and she’s really strong. And she’s also really cool and really chill and my heart beats like crazy and my mind goes dumb when I’m around her. But that doesn’t mean I like her!”
The two boys just looked at the blonde with a brow raised.
“Seriously?” They both said.
“GAH!” Bakugou screamed as he flopped face forward on his bed coming to the realization. “Fine! Maybe I do like her BETTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE, but that doesn’t mean I LIKE like her. Besides, shes only been here for 2 days, how the hell am I supposed to fall for someone that quick?”
“Love at first sight is a real thing if you believe it is.” Kaminari said. Bakugou thought about it. Maybe it was. But there was no way. She didn’t know anything about him and yeah she opened up to Bakugou about her past but that doesn’t mean she’s in love with him.
“......look. I don’t know exactly how I feel about Y/N. All I know is, I get excited whenever she’s around or when I know I’ll get to see her. I can’t be sure of my feelings....yet.” Bakugou admitted.
“Well you should figure it out, man. She could be good for you. I mean, shes only been here for a few days but just in those two days she’s made you a more open person. You woulda never admitted all this to us before.” Kirishima said. At that realization that he said too much, Bakugou got up and pushed his friends out his room door before he could spill any more.
“Okay! Great! Gotta sleep! Goodnight! See you later idiots.” Bakugou said and slammed the door. He flopped back on his bed, going back to thinking about Y/N. And there goes his heart again with that fast beating.
——————————————————————————
Y/N woke up, got ready, and was about to walk out the door. Her and Rumor were getting ready for some training so Y/N put on some comfortable work out clothes. As the two were about to walk out the doors with their bags, they ran into the Bakusquad boys in the common room.
“Hey Y/N!” Kaminari greeted you.
“Oh hey guys!” You said walking towards the group. Bakugou had his eyes fixated on you. Do you always look this good in the mornings?
“Where you headed?” Sero asked.
“Rumor and I were gonna get some training in at our special spot in the forest. Didn’t really get to do much yesterday so I’m making up for it today.” You explained.
“Hey, training sounds pretty good,” Kirishima said and the guys all agreed. “Mind if we joined you?”
“Uhh..I don’t know guys. The place I train is kinda far and I usually have to ride on Rumor to get there.” You said.
“Ohh c’mon, please! We’re down for the ride and we’d love to see you in action.” Kaminari begged. Bakugou decided to influence your decision.
“C’mon princess,” he said while looking you right in your eyes. The group all smiled and raised a brow at Bakugou’s behaviour, but you two didn’t notice, for you were too lost in each other’s presence that you didn’t even realize what you said.
“Sure...” you said still dazed with Bakugou, but once you heard yourself you snapped out of it. “Wait- Wha-“ you were interrupted by the cheers of rowdy boys as they all left to get their stuff ready. Bakugou was the last to leave.
“Thanks for letting us join, princess.” He said pecking your cheek and walking off. Curse those damn ruby eyes! You smacked your face the tiniest bit to fight off the rising blush as Rumor just gave you a look of sass.
“Oh hush, now you gotta carry 5 people. Hope you’re happy.” You said sitting next to Rumor on the couch. About 10 minutes went by before all the boys came back and were set to go. You guys walked to the front entrance of the dormitory and paused.
“Okay. A few rules before we get there. The spot is a special place to me. It’s where I can explore myself and my abilities a lot more and it’s the place where I found Rumor. It’s a treasure and a memory to me so don’t you dare destroy it too much!” You said with a stern voice and serious look. The boys nodded their heads in understanding.
“Good. Rumor, flying bison form.” As rumor shifted into a giant creature, you went to the side of the building where you had his saddle waiting. You used your air bending to place it onto Rumor’s back as you attached a rope to his horns for steering. You told the boys to get on, but they seemed a little hesitant.
“What? You’ll be fine, just get on.” As the boys trusted your words, they climbed onto Rumor and settled in the saddle. On your mark, Rumor took off into the skies as the boys screamed in fear in the back.
“We’re gonna die!!!” Kaminari cried as he held onto Sero. The boys freaked out until you reassured them.
“You’re not gonna die you idiots! Jeez, it’s too early for all this.” You said as you continued to handle Rumor’s reigns. After about 10 minutes of flying, you trusted that Rumor knew where to go from there and went to the back of the saddle where the boys were.
“First time flying on a bison?” You jokingly asked.
“More like first time ever doing any of this.” Kirishima said. “Man, do you get to travel like this all the time?”
“Pretty much. Theres so many forms that Rumor has, so it’s always fun seeing the reactions I get whenever they see me riding a dragon or something.” You laughed out, causing Bakugou to blush at the beautiful sound.
“Man, I could get used to this.” Sero said as he let the breeze flow through his hair. You giggled before speaking.
“Yeah, well sorry to disappoint, but rides over. We’re here.” You said looking over the saddle and seeing the forest spot. The boys finally saw the beautiful trees, the crystal waters, the beautiful plants and giant plateaus of boulders and rocks creating something straight outta Lion King. You landed in a clearing and hopped off Rumor, encouraging the boys to do the same. Rumor transformed back into his usual form and walked towards you all.
“So! Y/N, what do you usually do when you get here?” Kirishima asked.
“I usually stand on the spiritual clearing over there,” you said and pointed to an opening where there was a circular stone platform in the ground engraved with some ancient characters.
“Spiritual clearing? It looks like pavement.” Kaminari said, earning a wack to the head from Bakugou and Sero. You just sighed and sat crossed on the area and called upon your mentor.
“Avatar Korra....” you called out, and then, it appeared as if a ghost came out of you and right infront of you stood your mentor. The boys shook in fear.
“A ghost?” Sero shakenly asked.
“No, my mentor. She’s a spirit...a good one.” You said as you stood and bowed to Korra.
“So what are we working on today, Y/N?” Korra asked you.
“Well, I want to perfect my water bending. Specifically, my healing. I used my dim mak on a friend in school and I couldn’t heal his arm from the paralysis so I want to work on fixing that.” You said. Korra nodded and took you to the watering hole.
“You boys can get on with your training,” you said to the guys as they appeared to be standing still.
“Actually, we just came to watch you and see what kinda stuff you can do,” Kaminari confessed. You laughed and shook your head as you used your hand to call the boys over so they could watch.
“Well then how about we get a volunteer?” Korra said as she looked to the 4 future pros. Bakugou stood up and joined you in the watering hole.
“You have no idea what you’ve just done,” you laughed out as Bakugou stood there confused. “Sorry about this,”
“What do you me-“ you cut him off by jabbing his pressure points and having him fall paralyzed into the shallow water. As he layed there with his upper side of his body out of the water he spoke.
“Coulda gave me a warning, ya know.” He said in a grouchy demeanor. You just looked towards your mentor for guidance.
“Let’s begin..” Korra said. As you trained the boys watched in excitement and awe. They’ve never seen anyone with a “quirk” like yours and never saw someone with your fighting style. Once you finished up with Bakugou, Korra walked you through the other elements. The boys saw your many skills and were thoroughly impressed. As the day went on, you finally settled for the amount of time spent.
“Thank you for the help today Korra,” you said and bowed to her in gratitude.
“It’s my job to help you, Y/N. Please don’t thank me. Besides, I enjoy working with you. I know you’ll always choose the best path to go on and I’m excited to see where you’ll end up.” Korra said with much meaning to her last few sentences. You understood what she meant. She disappeared into thin air as she returned to the spirit world. You sighed as you felt relief she was no longer there pressuring you into becoming the hero you can’t be. You turned to the boys.
“So...you guys ready to head back?”
——————————————————————————
On the ride home, the boys all hung around the back while you sat near Rumor’s horns in silence. Your mind wandering to your choices. Light or dark. You’ve always been in the dark though. It was the life you’ve always known. Granted, you didn’t like it, but you’ve already done so many horrible things, there was no way being good was even an option right now
‘Shigaraki..Korra..Kurogiri..Aizawa..Dabi.....Bakugou’ you thought of all the impactful people in your life..but Bakugou? You barely knew him, but you knew in your heart, he definitely meant something to you. To snap you outta your thoughts was the man himself. Bakugou had gone to join you up front.
“Hey” he said.
“..hey back.” You replied.
“Soo..Whats up with you?” He asked.
“Umm...not much. Just..seeing my mentor..makes me think about..a lot.” You explained to him as you looked at the sky.
“A lot like...” he pressed you for details.
“Like....sentimental stuff. What kind of person I wanna be, what I wanna do with my life..choosing paths.” You briefly explained. You couldnt let him know too much, no matter how bad your body yearned to tell him the truth.
“Well...I could predict most of that stuff for you.” Bakugou said, relaxing his shoulders.
“What do you mean?” You asked him.
“I see a lot of great things for you, princess. You’re an amazing person already, and when you grow up you’re gonna be an amazing hero too. Kicking evil’s ass and all that.” He explained. But you only felt sorry. He didn’t know you at all. At least, not the real you. This fact only saddened you.
“I wish..” you whispered. You only fell deeper into sadness, and noticing this, Bakugou did the unexpected. He grabbed you and held you in his arms.
“You’re amazing, Y/N. Never forget that.” He said calmly, like he was 100% sure. You released silent tears and let the wind dry them. Along the journey home, the scent of caramel invaded your senses. It soothed you and brought you to a land of happiness. You cuddled into Bakugou a little more as a blush grew on both of your faces. You both agreed on one thing though. This felt so right.
As you landed, the boys in the back headed inside after thanking you for the trip. Rumor changed back and you and Bakugou moved his saddle back to its place beside the building. As you and Bakugou continued to walk, he started up a conversation.
“You know, you’re pretty strong but I could still take you down easily, Princess.” He said with a cocky attitude.
“Oh? Is that fact? Cuz I’d bet You’d get your ass handed to you by moi,” you said.
“Really? How about a little competition?” He wagered.
“I’m listening,” you said.
“We have a little sparring match, if you win you get whatever you want, if I win..i don’t know, maybe..you’ll let me take you out on a date?” He asked hesitantly. This shocked you, but you smirked nonetheless.
“Is this you’re way of trying to ask me out?” You teased.
“Sort of..” he said nervously. This was his first time asking anybody out and his first crush too.
“Well then why don’t we skip the fight and I’ll let you take me out next Saturday? Deal?” You asked.
“That’s perfectly fine by me,” he said excitedly. Bakugou began to ramble on about something else but you got distracted. As you looked over his shoulder, you saw Principle Nezu holding on to some documents and trying to hide them. He seemed alert as he made his way to what appeared to be Mr. aizawa’s room.
“Umm, I’ll talk to you later Baku- Katsuki! I’ve gotta go.” You said as you walked off to find Nezu, leaving Bakugou in confusion as Rumor followed you into the dorms.
Running through the hallways was getting you nowhere. So you asked Rumor to track his scent. Finally catching up to Nezu, you saw him enter Aizawa’s room and you saw the door shut. You pressed your ear to it, trying to make out whatever conversation they were having, but you couldn’t hear anything. You did however hear them walking closer to the door, and so you and Rumor hid around the corner. You saw both Nezu and Aizawa walk out and so you took the opportunity to scope the scene. You walked into the room and saw the files on the desk. As you read through them, you saw it was trip to what seemed to be some sort of battle competition. As you read through the papers, you saw it was exactly that. Hero schools would travel to one designated area and start the race. Along the path you would run into other schools and battle. Winner earns their school 12 grand and the participating students get a week off.
To anyone else, this would seem like a good time, to you, this was an opportunity. You took photos of the papers and ran off with Rumor to your room. In the privacy of your dorm, you sent the photos to the league and contacted them through the earring.
“Hello? Shigaraki? Dabi?” You said into the earring.
“Right here, Titania.” It was Dabi’s voice. “Whatcha need?”
“I’ve got intel you and the league might wanna hear~” you said with a playful voice, however at the same time, you felt uneasy.
“Go on,” he said.
You hesitated before speaking, but went on anyway. “In 3 days, UA will be sending class 1-A and 1-B to this competition where they’ll battle other schools. It’s in a forest area where a race will be held. It’s the perfect place for the league to attack. Come and weaken their forces.”
“Sounds like a plan, little mouse. Good work.” He said into the jewelry.
“I’ll send you my coordinates the day we go. See you soon.” You said and turned off the device. You couldn’t help but feel guilty about this whole thing. Why?
“Hey Y/N? You in there?” Bakugou said from the other side of the door while knocking. Oh yeah, that’s why. Somehow, that loveable blondie made a footprint on you and now you can’t get him off your mind. After what he said about you being so amazing, you couldn’t fight back that fuzzy feeling you got whenever you thought of him or whenever he was around. You got up to answer the door.
“Hey! Katsuki! What are, uh, what are you doing here?” You asked.
“Uhh..I don’t know. Had some free time, thought I’d come hang with you and Rumor.” He said with a shy smile. A smile you’ve learned to love. You looked at the time. 1:44. You figured you could use a break day.
“How about this? Come inside and let me get ready, and we could spend the day together.” You offered. You were under a lot of stress with these conflicted feelings of light and dark and Katsuki felt like a break from it all. He was your little escape haven from the chaos.
“Heh, I thought our date was next Saturday,” he teased as he walked through your door.
“Well, our first official date. This can be more like us hanging out.” You said.
“Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do on a date?” He asked.
“I- oh shut up! You know what I mean!” You said in a flustered manner. Katsuki only laughed at your behavior and called you a little dumbass. You went to your wardrobe and asked for a little help.
“Wanna help me pick out an outfit?” You asked and Bakugou nodded and walked your way. He noticed how your closet pretty much screamed “Instagram baddie” and was impressed. He looked around and finally made his decision.
“The letterman black and white jacket, leave it open to show off the white tube top. Put that on with those light washed skinny jeans and put on these casual black heels.” He said as he dropped them all on you. The way he threw them all messed with your hair and so you huffed the piece covering your face out of your way.
“They’re called Heeled Ankle Boots.” You corrected him.
“Yeah yeah, go get dressed,” he said pushing you towards your bathroom.
“Oh? You sure you don’t want me to get dressed right here?” You teased, causing Bakugou to blush intensely. “I’m kidding.” You said before walking into the room, finally allowing Katsuki to breathe.
When you came out the bathroom, you looked at yourself in the mirror.
“Huh..not bad, Katsuki.” You said, admiring yourself. Bakugou was too busy staring at you, but he finally snapped out of it when he heard you say his name with that sweet voice.
“Erm, heh, yeah. My parents are designers so I guess it’s just a natural thing.” He said.
“Yeah? Maybe I’ll have to try on their clothes and maybe model for them,” you joked.
“You’ve definitely got the looks for it,” Bakugou said biting his lip. He was being so serious. You turned and looked at him with a sincere smile.
“Ummm..you ready to go?” You asked a little nervous.
“Yeah, c’mon.” He said dragging you to the front. Rumor follow you.
“Oh, stop it Rumor. You can hang here for a bit by yourself can’t you? Besides, the dorm is filled with plenty of people for you to spend time with.” You said petting his head, but you knew he wanted to go just to make sure you were okay. “If I need you, I’ll blow the whistle and call for you, okay?” You said to reassure him. He finally allowed you to go with Bakugou.
Katsuki took you to a nice cafe just to hang out. You talked, ate, joked around, and all and all just grew closer. Something about him just made you feel safe. The way he would look at you, give you that charming smile, and that time when he held you in his arms made you feel all warm inside.
“Hey dumbass. You’re staring.” Bakugou said.
“Am not!”
“Are too.”
“Hmph!” You grunted as you used your water bending to take his drink out of his cup and lift it over his head.
“Give it back Y/N,” he said. You messed with him though, and you glided his drink all around him.
“Oh, c’mon! Have a little fun and enjoy the magic show.” You playfully said. You had enough and placed his drink back in his cup. You both laughed and talked a little more before getting up to walk around town.
“Hey, Katsuki look! A festival!” You said as you ran to it leaving Bakugou to chase after you. You both enjoyed the booths and snacked on the street food venues. You played games and won each other prizes. You know, the cliche? As you both walked around some more, you saw something that reminded you of your time on the streets.
“Woah, look at that!” You pointed to a group sitting around a man sitting at a table.
“What is that?” Bakugou asked.
“It’s a quick way to earn money. This guy has 3 shells and a stone. He moves the stone around with the shells and you just have to guess which shell the stone is under. I never played growing up because I had nothing to offer, but now I do and this time I can use my ‘quirk’ to sense where the stone is!” You excitedly said.
“How can your quirk do that?” He questioned you.
“Ummm....” you were looking for an answer until fortunately a man lost the game and screamed out in pity and anger. “Oh look! It’s open! Let’s go!” You said dragging Bakugou to the stand.
“Well, hello there kids! Here to play?” The man asked.
“Yes sir! And I can offer you $20!” You said. A pretty decent deal. The man agreed and put up his own 20 and began to shuffle the shells. Using your earth bending, you felt where the stone was going and when he stopped the shuffling, you pointed to the correct shell.
“Thats some fancy guessing you got there young lady. How about you say we make this more interesting?” He offered.
“More interesting how?” You asked.
“More interesting like you throw in your friend’s fancy chain and I’ll bargain with $100, and thats more interesting.” He explained.
You snatched Bakugou’s chain and spoke. “I’ll do it for $300” you said. The man agreed, foolishly thinking he’d win. As he began to shuffle again, you sensed the stone and at the end of his little show, he attempted to flick the stone into his sleeve and keep it there. To stop this from happening, you used your earth bending to pull the stone from going into his sleeve and kept it under the shell. You made your pick.
“Sorry young Lady but- WHAT?” The man was shock to see the stone placed under one of the shells, more so, the correct shell.
“I won!” You said and grabbed the money and Bakugou’s chain as you both ran off. You laughed as Bakugou only scolded you.
“Y/N! You can’t just scam the guy like that!” He said.
“Oh lighten up Katsuki! Jeez, you always have a stick up your ass?” You joked. “Besides, it’s not like I did anything wrong. I only cheated because he was cheating too. I cheated a cheater,” you said explaining your logic. It kind of made sense to Bakugou so he sighed and went along with it.
“I guess you’re right,” he gave in.
“Of course I am,” you said flashing him the smile he craved to see, “now let’s go! There’s a firework show starting soon and I know the perfect spot!”
You dragged Bakugou to a place a little far from the center of town. When you arrived, you showed him a billboard sign. You guys had already been out for awhile and last time you checked the time in town it was 6:30, now after the walk it was 7:00.
“Ta-da!” You said while giving jazz hands to the tall sign. Bakugou just looked up in confusion.
“What am I looking at?”
“A billboard dummy! It’ll give us a great view of the fireworks! All we have to do is get up there, now c’mon!” You said but Bakugou pulled you back.
“We can’t go up there! It’s illegal,” he said but you only rolled your eyes.
“And do you see how stupid that is? What’s the worst that could happen from us going up there and why would they need to enforce that kinda law anyway?” You said.
“To stop people from vandalizing property.” Bakugou explained to you.
“Well do we look like the type to vandalize?” You said.
“Well no, but-“
“But nothing! We’ll be fine Katsuki! I promise. You’ll enjoy the view.” You pleaded. Bakugou still wasn’t fully convinced so you pressed up against him while hugging his arm. “Pleaseeee Katsuki?” You begged which finally made him give in.
He slightly smiled at you before telling you to hold onto his neck.
“For what?” You asked.
“Just trust me,” and so you did. When you were secure, he blasted you both into the sky and landed on top of the sign. It was dark and a little cold, so you shivered and Bakugou noticed. He held you in his arms to keep you warm and it worked well. A comfortable silence fell upon you two as you just enjoyed each other’s warmth.
“I’m really glad you came to UA.” Bakugou said in a gruff voice. You smiled up at him.
“Oh yeah? Why?” You asked.
“Cuz... I got to meet your dumbass. You’re beautiful, you’re strong...you’re amazing....and I really like you.” He said while looking down at you.
“Heh...I uh, I really like you too.” You said. You both began to lean in and here came that feeling again. No one else in the world but you two. As your lips grazed each other, you both jumped at the sound of the firework’s loud sound. You laughed it off and stared at the pretty colors that illuminated the dark sky. Each one allowing your smile to grow even more. Bakugou, kind of bummed out on having another kiss ruined, admired you and your beauty. He smiled as he saw your pearly whites and he just held you closer as you looked up in awe. This was a good enough night for him.
You ended up using the whistle to call for Rumor to help you guys get back to the dorms quickly. Rumor was just happy to be of service. When you landed, you and Bakugou walked hand in hand through the dorms. As you entered the common room, the Bakusquad set their eyes upon you two.
“Oouuuuu~” they all said noticing the connected hands and bashful faces. Bakugou simply told them to shut up as he dragged you to the floor your dorm rooms were on.
“Thanks for the fun night, Katsuki.” You said to him in your doorway.
“No problem. Kinda wish my kiss didn’t get disrupted for the second time this week but I still had a great night with you, princess.” You laughed at his little complaint. You went up and pecked his cheek, just like he would do to you.
“Goodnight, Cutie” you said and shut your door. Bakugou sighed as he smiled, listening to his heart beat wildly. He walked on to his dorm room to get ready for the night. School was tomorrow and he had a grandpa schedule to follow.
——————————————————————————
Behind the closed door, you sighed in bliss. You felt your heart go crazy at the thought of your little crush. Your crush. Crush. Damnit, that bastard had you wrapped around his finger. Under different circumstances, you wouldn’t have minded, but your with the league of villains. Bakugou is a future pro, you’re a low life villain. There’s no way he would fall for you when he found out the truth. You felt a little hurt at that fact, but you understood. It had to be this way. Awakening you from your thoughts was Dabi’s voice coming from the communication device.
“I’m here, Dabi. What is it?” You questioned.
“Don’t think I didnt see your little scene with whats his face on the billboard. Are you falling for UA’s resident hot head?” Dabi asked.
“What were you doing out in the forest?” You asked in shock. The league was not supposed to find out about this little..whatever you had with Bakugou!
“I was out on a walk, now answer my question. Do you like the little hero wannabe?” Dabi pressed on. You had to think. Did you like Bakugou? You knew you felt something towards him but you were still trying to figure out exactly what it was. If it was love you would openly admit it, but you were just in like with the guy, you weren’t sure of your feelings yet or even if you would dare pursue them.
“....n-no.” You replied. You felt in your heart and mind that you just lied to yourself. It hurt you a little too much by just saying that.
“Good. Because you’re a villain. Bakugou Katsuki has a whole future ahead of him. He wouldn’t want a villain scum like you hanging around.” He said and ended the call.
You let silent tears fall down your face as you placed the earring down and fell onto your bed. You were just villain scum. Underserving of anything good. You weren’t anything good at all. Your path was darkness. You were sure! But Bakugou Katsuki made you second guess yourself on that choice. Could you be good? Could you follow him to the light?
Unsure, you got ready for bed and decided to sleep this off. Once this whole operation was over, Bakugou would be out of your life and you wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore. But could you really stand to be around without him with you? You’ve only known the guy for a few days, and you’re this attached to him. You sighed to yourself as Rumor fell asleep.
“This is gonna be hell.”

Parent Trap
PART 2
Marcus Moreno x Reader
It’s hereeee! Children’s shenanigans. Yearning. A kiss.
The Artist
The rest of the week went smoothly. Artemis was very excited to have a new friend and talked about Missy often.
Friday came around, and Shade had to inform the school that she was running late in picking Artemis up. A seller was taking his sweet time, in trying to decide which of the 2 pieces he wanted, before deciding he didn’t want either.
She was annoyed; it wasn’t uncommon for a seller to act like they wanted her work before making up some excuse as to why they were no longer interested. Nor was it uncommon for a person to try and haggle for lower prices, claiming ‘you should be grateful someone even wants your business.’
She was tired to say the least.
She finally, after 45 minutes, pulled up to the school, and made her way to Artemis’s class to pick her up. She was surprised when she saw Missy sitting with her.
“Missy? What are you still doing here honey?” Shade asked concerned.
“My dad’s running late, but I have no way of contacting him to find out what’s going on,” She admitted quietly.
Shade nodded in understanding, before pulling out her phone. Marcus had made sure to give her his number the other day when they saw each other dropping their kids off.
She called him. It took about 4 rings, before he answered, out of breath “Hey Shade.”
“Hey. So. I’m here with Artemis and Missy, are you uhh.. on your way hon?” She asked politely.
She hears him swear in the background before stating, “I promise I didn’t forget about her. It appears that someone has changed every clock I know. I haven’t been able to tell time for 90% of the day.”
“Haven’t been able to tell time eh? Funny. Had something similar happen the other morning when my alarm went off an hour early. Weird how these clocks… have just magically changed for both of us,” She noted staring at the two girls suspiciously.
Both of them shrugged acting like they have no idea what she was talking about, before looking away.
“Listen, can you tell Missy I am on my way, I swear,” He requested with a sigh.
“How about this… How about I take Missy home with me, and she can stay the night? In the morning, you can bring her a change of clothes, and pick us all up for our date,” She offered with a smile.
“Are... are you sure? It’s no problem for me to come and get her, it would just be a few minutes?” He questioned hesitantly.
“It’s not a problem. We will see you in the morning, yeah?” She assured.
“Sounds good, can I talk to Missy real quick?” He politely asked.
She handed her phone over to her, and they talked for a moment before she hung.
“Alright. Let’s get outta here,” She nodded her head toward the door.
The girls grabbed their things and the three of them were off.
She gets them home and told them to get to work on their homework. She checked on dinner that was cooking in the crockpot. It was crockpot chicken and noodles.
The girls finished up their homework and were currently helping her set the table an hour later. They were both giggling and whispering to one another.
“Alright you two, enough with the whisper party. Go wash your hands, while I serve up dinner,” She tells them, shaking her head.
She grabbed their bowls and ladled them a healthy portion for all of them. She had made some fruit salad to go with it and gave them a small plate of it.
By the time their plates were ready, the girls were bouncing back into the dining room. They took their seats, and she joined them.
Missy began asking questions about Shade’s work.
“So, what kind of art do you do?” Missy politely asked.
“I do mostly pencil sketches and paint occasionally even though I don’t think I’m very good at it. Been working on some new stuff, but... Mh. not sure how I feel about it so far,” Shade explained to her.
“Ooh. What kind of new stuff?” Missy asked excitedly.
Shade went to wave it off as nothing when Artemis piped up, “She’s been drawing the Heroics and their most famous battles! Kinda like a comicbook! It’s so cool!”
“What!? That’s awesome! Can I see it sometime? I mean. If you’re okay with it?” Missy asked amazed.
“Hmm. Possibly. If…” Shade began.
“If what?” Missy questioned.
“If… you promise to fix your dad’s clocks, and not mess with them again. I understand that both of you are excited to be friends and want us to get along too, but messing with clocks and alarms is not okay,” She bargained looking at both of them.
They both looked down, wincing as they mumbled apologies and swearing that they would fix things.
“Apology accepted. Finish eating and I’ll show you my workshop,” She stated with a smile.
Both of them perked back up and began eating again happily.
Once they all had eaten and cleaned up, Shade led them to her workshop. She slid opened the double doors and presented it to Missy.
There were several desks, covered in pencils, graphite and colored, pens, paints, and brushes. There was an easel and some blank canvases resting in a corner. She walked over to one of her sketch books and opened it about midway.
“Just, uh, don’t touch the ink too much. It takes a long time to dry,” She informed them setting it down on the small table where Artemis held her art supplies.
Missy was amazed. She stared at all of the drawings of Miracle Guy, Sharkboy & Lavagirl, Tech-No, and many other Heroics. She noticed one thing though.
“You haven’t drawn my dad yet?” She mentioned looking up at her.
“No. I haven’t. I for whatever reason… cannot seem to draw him. Every time I do, I worry I’ll mess it up. Your dad meant a great deal to me at one point,” Shade tells her, thinking fondly of Marcus.
Missy and Artemis looked at each other, a plan forming.
They spoke a little more about art and what Shade does before the girls ran upstairs to go play.
Or so Shade thought…
The Hero
Marcus was finishing up some paperwork that had piled up over the week when Miracle Guy stepped into his office.
“What are you still doing here, man? Shouldn’t you be at home? With your kid?” Miracle asked him.
“Can ask you the same thing, MG?” Marcus countered, referring to his nickname.
“Had a job I just came from. Mission report. Saw your light was still on, figured I should check on our fearless leader,” Miracle lightly teased.
Marcus simply hummed in response.
“So. What’s been going on with you? You’ve been jittery all week. I had thought it had something to do with the incident at Missy’s school, but now… not so sure,” Miracle brought up, sitting across from Marcus.
“Remember… when we first started out? I was with that artist?” Marcus began, biting his lip.
“Yeah. The really pretty one, that you wound up breaking up with, right?” Miracle recalled.
“Mh. Her daughter is now best friends with my daughter… and we have a date tomorrow… and I honestly… don’t know how I feel,” Marcus confessed, setting his pen down, the report no longer distracting him.
“Wh-… What? Seriously? Wow. What a small world? I mean… this is the first time you’ve gone out since Isabelle died right? I think it’s only natural that you’re nervous. But… it’s also with someone you’ve been with. I doubt she’s changed that much in 15 years,” Miracle noted with a shrug.
“Yeah. I just… hmm. I don’t know. I am nervous… but I’m also…excited? Happy? I mean… I wanted to marry this girl back in college, but life… got in the way. I guess… I’m just worried I’ll mess it up,” Marcus admitted with a sigh.
“Oh? You never told me that part? Listen. It’s one date. If you don’t feel sparks fly or whatever then, it’s not meant to be. But if you do, explore it. You deserve to be happy Marcus,” Miracle stated.
Marcus opened his mouth to reply when his phone rang.
He answers noticing it was Shade’s number.
“Hey, what’s-” He began.
“Dad! You should get over here! Like quickly! As fast as possible!” Missy voice came, rushed.
Marcus goes to question her, but the line ends.
Marcus quickly gets up, grabs his things and runs out to his car. The drive under normal circumstances was 20 minutes, but he was there in half that time.
He ran up to the door, banging on it, panicked.
When the door opened, Shade stood there, looking extremely confused.
“Marcus?” She greeted staring at him concerned.
“Are the girls okay? Missy called and told me I should get here,” Marcus explained quickly.
“Yes. They’re fine. They went upstairs to play?” She answered still confused.
“But they had your phone? And she sounded worried?” Marcus recalled the phone call.
She suddenly patted her pockets, looking around trying to find her phone.
The Artist
It slowly dawned on her what happened.
“GIRLS! GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW” She yelled up the stairs.
A moment passed, and neither of them heard movement.
“I am so sorry Marcus. Artemis… must have grabbed my phone while I wasn’t looking,” She apologized, moving to go upstairs.
Marcus stopped her.
“Hey, so long as everyone is okay. Even though a CERTAIN YOUNG LADY IS GROUNDED. I’m sorry for almost busting your door down with my knocking,” He tells her, shouting part of his sentence up the stairs.
A loud groan could be heard in response.
“AS IS ANOTHER CERTAIN YOUNG LADY,” Shade mentioned loudly.
Cue another loud groan.
“Would… would you like some water?” Shade offered, twirling a lock of her hair.
“Yes. I would actually,” Marcus accepted gratefully.
The two of them stepped into her kitchen. Shade grabbed him a glass and filled it with water, before handing it to him. He downed about half of it, before setting it back down, wiping his mouth.
“So. What… what happened?” Marcus asked trying to understand.
She thought about it, trying to retrace the evening.
“Oh…. I showed them…some of my artwork… and Missy asked me why I hadn’t drawn you yet,” She realized.
“Oh? Ahem. So… Why…Why haven’t you drawn me yet?” He asked hesitantly and trying to hide his curiosity.
“I told her it was because… I was worried I would mess it up and that you meant a great deal to me… which is somewhat true… I have drawn you…but I always feel like… they didn’t do you justice,” She quietly admitted to him, not making eye contact. “Kind of hard to draw someone you were in love with for years. Especially when those feelings never quite went away.”
The Hero
He was surprised to hear that. He didn’t quite know how to respond. He did… know one thing though.
He moved around the island over to her.
“Forgive me… if this is too forward,” He whispered to her.
He gently cupped her face into his hands, and pressed a small, hesitant kiss to her lips. When she didn’t pull away or slap him, he kissed her again, but just a smidge longer.
He felt her arms move, sliding around his neck. He was extremely relieved when he felt her kiss him back. He lightly pinned her against her the island, his hands moving to her waist. They wrapped around her, pulling her close.
Their kiss lasted for a minute and would’ve gone longer if it weren’t for the fact that they heard giggles coming from the stairway.
They pulled away slowly.
“I told you that my daughter’s favorite movie was the Parent Trap, right? We’ve been Parent Trapped,” She whispered against his lips.
“You also said her number one favorite was The Mummy, which I guess it’s a good thing they didn’t unleash an unspeakable evil to get us together,” Marcus joked.
“This is true. You 2 are still grounded by the way, and Mrs. Moreno will be informed of that fact tomorrow when we leave you with her to go on our date,” She threw over shoulder.
There was a sound of 2 pairs of feet scurrying back upstairs.
“You… you still want to go out tomorrow?” Marcus inquired, hopeful.
“Yeah. Yeah, I do. If you still want to,” She mentioned, biting her lip.
“Yeah. I do. Though… I think I should go grab my little delinquent, and take her home, so you can sleep without anymore “emergencies.” Plus, I apparently need to talk to her about boundaries,” Marcus noted as he slowly stepped away from her.
“Yeah. I apparently have to have a similar conversation. We’ll see you tomorrow?” She said with a smile.
“Yeah. Tomorrow. Umm. Just one last thing,” Marcus hurriedly said.
He pulled her into another kiss, that she returned with a sigh.
When he finally pulled away again, he simply said, “One wasn’t enough.”
He called for Missy to come downstairs and get her things. He told her that a slumber party will have to wait for another time. As he took Missy home, he couldn’t help the smile on his face, as he thought about Shade.
He knew his evening was far from over, but he couldn’t wait until tomorrow.

Tom Nook X Reader
Fireworks
Alone.
10 pm on a Sunday and Tom was sitting alone in the residential services, typing away on his computer, trying to ignore all the sounds outside. The sounds of everyone running around, the sounds of people having fun, the sounds of fireworks going off. But most importantly, the sound of him. It’s been years and nothing has changed with him. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, trying to attract customers to his little raffle. Tom knee he was out there, that’s why he simply couldn’t go. The simple muffled sound of him shouting was enough to make his heart stop. “Come one! Come all! Step right up to redds raffle! For the small fee of 500 bells you’ll be guaranteed to win one of these fine prices! That’s right folks! You’ll never know what you’ll get but you are guaranteed to win!!!”
Huh. You’ll never know what you’ll get. Thats funny. That’s sort of how Redd and Toms relationship used to be. Tom however, did not get a guaranteed win. No, he got scammed out of 500 000 bells and was left in a ditch to rot away and die. He never thought Redd would be able to do something like that to him. Tom thought that he was different to Redd, that he actually cared for him. But Redd proved him wrong that night. He proved that Tom was no different than all the other fools that Redd tricked on a day to day basis. Because that’s what he was to Redd, he was just another one of his pawns in his big game of chess. He meant nothing to Redd and was easily disposable. And here he was, just outside his window, trying to make quick money off of his fellow islanders. And Tom was letting it happen. Because he was too much of a coward to go and do something.
Phyyyuuuuuuuu....
BOOM!!!
Another firework went off. Tom could see the ground light up from outside his window. Oh how he wished he could be outside. But he knew he wasn’t strong enough to face Redd. He never wanted to see him again, and he hadn’t planned on doing so. And he would do anything to avoid seeing his past partner.
Plingelingeling
The soft sound of the little bell that was attached to the door dragged Tom out of his thoughts. Someone had entered. And that someone was you. You were laughing and were holding a balloon. At least someone was having fun out there. You made eye contact with him and smiled, running up to him. You had a star bopper on, probably something that Isabelle gave to you. You looked very cute in it.
“Hi Tom!” You said as you sat down in the chair on the other side of his desk. “Why hello hello Y/N! Having fun out there I hope?” He said, giving you a genuine smile. “Yeah! It’s been awesome! The fireworks are really pretty and we’ve all had very fun! The boys are really happy as well! They’ve been running around for hours now! It’s really cute!” You said, very enthusiastic about the whole ordeal. Tom has asked you to take the kids with you to the festival. They both had been cooped up in the store for too long and deserved a break. And there was no one he trusted more than you. “But....I think they would enjoy it more of you were out there with them...” oh boy. So you would pull this card huh. He let out a slight sigh. “Yes, I would also enjoy it...but I can’t Y/N...you know that...” as he said this he felt two soft hands grab his paws. “Is this about Redd?” You asked, and just hearing someone else say that bastards name made him tense up and made his eyes widen. “...I take that as a yes...come on Tom! Who cares what that guy thinks! He’s a sad man who’s only enjoyment in life comes from watching other suffer! He’s not worth your time!” Tom knew Redd wasn’t worth his time, yet it didn’t exactly make it any better. Just stating the obvious isn’t going to help his case.
“...I’m sorry...look, how about we go to a secluded spot, far away from the plaza. Do you think Redd will leave his precious money making station to go after you? Trust me, you need to get out of the residential services. You won’t have to see Redd okay? I promise!” Once you said this, you took one of your hands and cupped his cheek. Tom responded by closing his eyes and leaning into the touch. How bad could it be. If he would just ignore Redd and get away as soon as possible, things might work out. And so, he took one of his paws and pressed it on the hand that was cupping your cheek. “Alright then”
Walking out from the building, Tom and you were holding hands. Tom could see all of the islands inhabitants running around, clapping or cheering. Some were sitting on the ground, others were standing up. And he could see one islander sitting on another shoulders as they ran past him and Y/N. “Oh hello Mr Nook!” The one on top shouted as they passed the two. The loud announcement of the name made a certain fox turn his head to see if what he heard was really true. And once he made eye contact with Tom and gave him a wide smirk, Tom knew it was game over.
“Well well well. If it’s isn’t Tom Nook himself. I’ll be honest, I thought you died or something nookie, but here you are! Nice of you to visit your good ol pal Redd!” Toms ears fell done on his head. All of a sudden he could feel memories of Redd and him wash over him. But not the good memories, no, rather the memories he wished he could lock in a box and throw into the ocean. Redd walked closer to the two and Tom tried to regain his posture. “Hello Redd. How are you doing this evening?” Tom looked at the fox. He was wearing completely different clothes than his usual “only an apron” style. He hated to admit, but he like the foxes outfit. Should he say something? “You look nice. I like the new clothes.” Tom didnt want to give the fox any sort of encouragement In any way shape or form but he hoped that the compliment would at least soften Redd up in the slightest. He refused to look into the foxes eyes. “Pff, thanks! I wish I could say the same for you.” this made Tom freeze for a few seconds, that’s was, until he felt you squeeze his hand. Slowly stroking it with your thumb. Once he looked into your eyes and saw nothing but support, he felt better. “Uncle Tom!!!” The tension was interrupted by the sound of two younger voices accompanied by the small pit pats of four small paws running against the ground. Tom could see Timmy and Tommy running up towards him. Both of the boys jumped into his arms and he managed to catch both of them swiftly. He felt a pair of small arms wrap around his neck. Tommy was giving him a hug and Timmy was enthusiastically explaining what they had done this evening.
“It was so cool!!! You should have seen it! Y/N made custom fireworks with us! I made a dinosaur and Tommy made a jellyfish!!! And then- then Y/N made their custom firework look like me and Tommy!!! It was so pretty!!! And then aunt Isabelle gave us these boppers! Look, look!” The two brothers were indeed wearing two boppers. Timmy was wearing a flower bopper and Tommy was wearing a heart bopper. Tom chuckled slightly at their frenetic nature. It was obvious the two was running on sugar and adrenaline at the moment. He was certain that the two small tanookis were gonna have a tummy ache the next day. He could hear the faintest sounds of a little bell coming towards them. He turned to see that, yup, Isabelle was coming towards them all.
“Oh! Tom! Great to see you out here! I’ll be honest, I felt a little guilty leaving you alone while I got to be out here” Isabelle said, huffing slightly as she talked to him. “Oh yes. I finished all my paper work you see.” That was a lie, however, only three people knew it was a lie. “Oh yeah I’m sure you had so much paperwork huh?” Redd said, inserting himself into the conversation. This is when you started to lose patience. “Why don’t you shut your trap Redd!” Redd was a bit taken back by this. You always acted so quiet when you bought art of off him so to see you be so audible was strange to be sure. “Oh I’m sorry? Where you involved Y/N? What are you gonna?” Redd said, irritation plaiting his voice. “I would love to tell you what I would do but there are children present you selfish-“ “enough! Y/N, you said it yourself. He’s not worth it. Just let it go.” Tom told you, stroking your shoulder in an attempt at calming your nerves. You looked into his eyes, and in one fell swoop, you picked up the two brother that were now standing besides him. The two of them let out screams of delight and laughter as you started to run off. “Come on! Follow me!!!”
Isabelle and Tom were trailing behind you. How were you so fast when you were carrying TWO children!? Just like always. You never cease to amaze. You finally stopped at the highest hill on the island. There grew a single tree full of the islands native fruit. You put down Timmy and Tommy who were still giggling like crazy. You sat down besides the two boys and leaned up against the tree. Soon Tom and Isabelle caught up with you, both extremely out of breath once they got there. “What in the world was that for?” Isabelle asked as she looked at you. “I felt like we needed a change of scenery. Tom needs to see the fireworks! And I thought, what better place then the hill! And so, I grabbed the kids and ran here!” As you said this, you scooted over, patted the place next to you. Tom sat down next to you and Isabelle sat next to the boys. And for the first time, Tom could actually focus on the sky. It was beautiful. Absolutely stunning even! The sky was filled to the brim with colours after colours. Exploding like big balls of flames. It took his breath away. Even Isabelle seemed amazed. She had seen the fireworks sure, but from up here, they were even clearer! All five of them just watched the fireworks in silence for 15 minutes straight. It was only when the three adults heard a soft groan that they turned the attention away from the sky and to the small tanookies. Tommy was resting his head on Isabelle’s lap and Timmy was using Tommy as a pillow.
“Whoops. Looks like someone’s energies run out. Poor things, it’s way past their bed time. I’ll take them home.” Isabelle said, gently picking up the boys in her arms. She was about to leave when Tom stopped her. “Wait Isabelle. Before you leave... could I have one of those boppers?” He asked. It felt silly of him to ask but he thought they were pretty and wanted to participate. But Isabelle wasn’t a judgemental person, far from it. She simply giggled slightly and bowed her head before him. “Here, take mine.”
And so. Isabelle was off. She was off to put the kids to bed. That left Tom and you completely alone. Tom was readjusting his bopper and you were simply looking at him with a smile. “Hey look at that! We match!” You said, nudging his shoulder slightly. “Huh? Oh yeah! I guess we do ahhah...hey Y/N? I wanted to thank you. Thank you for fixing the Redd situation, thank you for taking care of the boys, just thank you for dragging me out here. And umm...” he took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. The tanooki placed a quick kiss on your cheek. It took you a second to realise what had just happened. But once you did, you smiled to yourself, grabbing his hand slightly.
“You’re welcome Tom.“ And so. The two of you continued to watch the fireworks, you leaned your head against his shoulder.

So yeah...another out of the blue fic that I wasn’t planning on writing!!! But listen, @mrmr-uwu told me about this headcanon she had about how the reason Tom isn’t present at the festival is because he can’t be with Redd because it’s to painful for him. Like do you expect me to hear that and NOT write a 2000 word fic about it??? Don’t be ridiculous I don’t have that self control! But this was really fun. Like I’ve said before I will take ANY excuse to write for Tom Nook. I will now get back to your normal Yandere content

During the 1-B training session, together with the homeroom teacher and the director, you entered a huge training room. You were quite uncertain when crossing the threshold of the Gym Gamma, but thanks to the teachers your fear decreased a little. All the students trained their powers and tricks, and you stood next to Mr. Nezu and Mr. Vlad, watching everything with sparkling eyes.
“You like it?” The headmaster asked politely, and you nodded shyly. “Then, I’m very happy. Both from your opinion and the fact that you chose our high school. Your private entrance exam really pleased me and I think you can handle current 1-B students. Mr. Vlad King will help you in case of anything. Right?”
“Of course, director. Maybe you’ll stay in training?”
“With pleasure. Let’s introduce a new student.”
After a while, the whole class, thanks to the voice of the teacher, gathered in one place, right in front of him, and you came out from behind the tall man to be able to say ‘hello’.
“A new student will join to our class. Be nice to her and if she asks, help her.” He said politely and then encouraged you to talk to the class.
“Hi. I’m Y/N Y/L/N, nice to meet you all. Thank you so much for your care.” You bowed low, and when you got up, you looked more closely at all the teenagers; you noticed a beautiful girl in short black hair, a boy looking like a green lizard... There was also a pony-teenager and a blonde one who looking at you with curiosity and a smirk.
You immediately thought that you wouldn’t be bored with them.
“Y/N will join to training today. Someone would like to fight with her?” The homeroom teacher asked, but no one was too willing to sparring with you. You sighed softly. “Come on, kids. Or I’ll pick someone by myself.”
Suddenly, the green-haired female raised her hand and smiled at you. “I can fight. It will be a heavenly honor.” She added in warmth tone and put her hand to you. “Ibara Shiozaki. Good luck, friend.”
Within a short while you positioned yourself in front of the girl, and the rest of the class took a seat by the wall to watch you and her. You bowed towards together with Ibara, and then, at the tutor's gesture, you started sparring.
You knew her hair wasn't accidental. You felt it when green vine appeared next to you that rose from her head. Fortunately, such things weren’t terrible for you and your power. You were a vampire. Yes, you hear right. You’re a strong, pretty and brave vampire. Of course, it’s just a quirk, you didn’t have to drink human blood, but you still had what bat and Dracula had; speed, agility, sharp teeth and nails. Also you can change into this little, cute animal. Oh, and you were able to fight well and defend yourself with the blades that appeared in your hands on demand.
That’s why you easily cut off the green stems and deftly got into a standing and stunned girl, whom you immediately overpowered with a sharp object and your firm grip.
“WOW!”
“She’s soooo fast!”
“Awesome. This girl deserves to be in 1-A class, not here!”
You could hear this words from the side, and after a while you let go of the girl, thanking her for the fight. You turned to new classmates and again you heard warm sentence.
“I want to go out– I mean fight with you too! You’re amazing!” The boy with silver hair raised his hand and you looked into his eyes, smiling charmingly. Then a shade of pink and red appeared on his cheeks, and you hid a wider smile behind your hand.
— JUUZOU
A few minutes after the start of the lesson with homeroom teacher, you entered the big room with the headmaster Nezu. Of course, the whole class got up from the benches and greeted with him. After a while their eyes land on you and your cheeks blush.
“From today, another student will join to your class. Please, introduce yourself.” A tiny man started and you nodded shyly.
“Hello, I’m Y/N Y/L/N. Until recently I lived in Los Angeles, but I returned to Japan again and I hope that we’ll make friends quickly. Thank you so much for your care.” You bowed slightly, looking at the principal again.
“Be nice to your new classmate and have a nice day. Good luck, Y/N.”
You thanked once again and then looked at the homeroom teacher who nodded to you. “Please, take a seat, Y/N. After this lesson, someone from the class will show you the rest of school.” You smiled uncertainly, and then you went with your backpack to the wooden desk, while looking closely at new buddies.
You really hoped that you would quickly find new friends. I mean... after leaving those from LA you felt terribly alone.
{ ・゚✧ }
After the lesson, as your teacher said earlier, he appointed one classmate who would help you to know the school from within. His choice fell on a boy named Juuzou Honenuki. He considered him the perfect person; nice, helpful and honest. He’s also seemed funny and sweet, so you were soooo happy.
“Thank you for showing me the U.A.”
“Ummm... It’s a pleasure for me. It’s nice to have a new person in the class.” He admitted shyly. “So... You lived in California, right?”
“Yes. It’s quite a funny situation. I was born in Osaka, lived in China for a year, and then, when I was eight years old, me and my parents moved to America. And now I’m in Japan again. I hope, I’ll stay here for the rest of my life. I prefer food from The Land of the Cherry Blossom, by the way.” You laughed softly and Juuzou together with you.
“Hmmm. So, you’re good in English?” He asked uncertainly.
“Yes. I’m fluent. Why you ask? You need some help?”
“A l-little... English is weird here. Anyway, you’ll see it yourself when you meet Mr. Present Mic.” He warned you in a funny tone, and you nodded.
“If you need help, you can always come to me!”
Juuzou smiled widely, nodding. Then he pointed his finger at the snack machine and happily asked ‘You want something sweet?’, which made your eyes shine at the sight of jelly beans in your favorite flavor.
— SHIHAI
You were eagerly awaiting the arrival of your new classmates. When they were just finishing their last literature lesson, you were finishing baking cookies with milk chocolate. As a new 1-B’s student, you got permission for one day off to make a good impression on the rest of the classmates. And you probably did it, because the cookies came out veeeery great, and their smell spread throughout the dorm.
And as soon as your new friends came to the dormitorium and sensed sweetmeats, they immediately rushed into the kitchen. They were surprised by your view, especially since there was a tray of delicious treats in your hands.
“WOAAAH!” The boy with the bandana on his head shouted cheerfully, coming closer.
“Who are you? So cool!” You heard a manly, joyful voice.
“It’s for us?” The red-haired girl asked and you nodded.
“With chocolate! My favourites!” A girl looking like a character from ‘My Little Pony’ screamed loudly, jumping aroud you.
You were very happy and immediately put the bake tray on the table, improving the pink apron. “Hi, I’m Y/N! I’ll be in your class from today, so please, take care of me!” You bowed, and when you stood up the whole class began to clap loudly.
“Nice to meet you!” The red-haired girl put her hand to you and you gladly shook her. “I’m the class representative. If you’ll have a problem, feel free to ask me about everything.” You nodded quickly and then looked at the rest of your new friends. One of them especially caught your attention.
The boy with black skin and white hair stood aside, looking at the floor. So you didn’t think too much – you just went towards him with a cookie that was levitating next to you. Pretty comical view.
You gave the boy biscuit and he looked at you in surprise. “Huh?”
“Taste it. They’re delicious!”
“It’s for me?” He asked uncertainly and you nodded.
“Yes, for you. I hope we’ll make friendship. I’m Y/N, and you?”
“Shihai Kuroiro, nice to meet you... Hmm. Watch out for Monoma, he’s quite... specific. Like each of us.” He warned friendly, grabbing a cookie and tasting it. “Mmm... Delicious. You like cooking, huh?”
“It’s my passion... Of course, right after saving the whole world!” You admitted it charmingly and Shihai grinned. “Next time I’ll make cupcakes, you like them?”
“I like everything what’s sweet.” He admitted after a moment of reflection, not only with sweets in mind, but also... you.
However, to say it out loud... some time must pass. But... Yes. You seemed definitely sweeter than chocolate cookies.

Lunch Time - Frank Iero x Reader
Request: Hi I know you have a long list of not yet published requests, but could you add one more to the list? Reader and frank iero highschool au, maybe she's punk/popular and he's not? I need more highschool au's in life Reader: female Warnings: friends who are kinda assholes Word count: 1 739 A/N: I went to a school with mostly preps, and I can’t ever remember having a single emo/punk kid in school, except for me but I didn’t look it back then. And I was THE social outcast. So popular always has kind of a negative touch for me, plus I kinda don’t have a feeling how popular and punk go together. Let’s try it.
Climbing out of the school bus, you took in the building I front of you. These grand, old walls, as your principal liked to call them, looked just as bored as always. Sometimes you wondered whether if buildings had feelings, they would suffer together with the students in there, or whether they would not care at all, just like the teachers did not seem to care. Walking past several different groups of students, the stoners, the cheerleaders, the footballers, the preps, you spied a familiar mop of black hair. Butterflies erupted in your stomach, and quickly you wanted to walk over to the student, whose mere name made your heart beat faster, but in just that moment your name got called. Knowing that once your friends had seen you, they would not leave your side, you turned around, and gave up your plan on talking to the cute boy.
Frank had heard someone shout for you too, which meant you were not too far away, and quickly he turned around to see whether he could spot you. And of course there you were, leather jacket, cute skirt, ripped tights, and heavy boots, your hair carelessly pulled into a messy ponytail. There would never be a moment where seeing you would not make his knees weak. You were absolutely perfect to him. You were funny, cute, stood up for what you believed in, were brave and keen on learning about many things. He would have loved to hang out with you sometimes, even if he had not been as much in love with you as he was, just because he admired the enthusiasm which you put into everything you were interested in. He knew that so well because as kids you had spent almost every afternoon playing together, since you were neighbors. But now problem was that, at least during school time, it was impossible for him to get close to you. You were one of the popular girls, one of those people who effortlessly managed to surround themselves with awesome friends, without even having to try. And Frank was… well… Frank. He wore ripped jeans, washed out band shirts that were several numbers too big for him, had close to zero friends, and most of the time all he could think about was music. Now he watched you walk away, your back turned to him, your steps confident as always, and he wondered when you had grown apart so much.
At lunch time, you were already sitting around a huge table with most of your friends, who were talking about throwing a party on Friday evening, when you saw Frank standing in the middle of the lunch hall, looking lost. His oversized shirt hung down on his slim shoulders like a potato sack, and seeing him look for a table all on his own broke your heart.
Lifting your hand up, you waved.
“Frank! Come sit with us,” you shouted, hoping you had been loud enough for him to hear you over the noise of chatting students.
“What are you doing,” your friend Liz hissed, pulling on your arm to get it down.
“Inviting him to sit with us, obviously,” you answered confused.
“Do you really want him to sit with us,” Carl, another one of your friends, asked.
“Yes, I do,” you answered slowly, almost threatingly, “why wouldn’t I?”
“But he’s like… the school’s loser!”
You could feel how rage started bubbling inside of you, but instead of being hot anger, it was like ice water suddenly streamed through your veins.
“What did you just call him,” you asked calmly, and all of your friends knew that now you were pissed off, since it was well known how much you hated people looking down on others.
The only one who seemed not to have gotten the message was Chrissy.
“Oh come on, just look at him,” she sighed, “everything about him screams looser.”
Biting your lower lip in order not to say something you might regret later, you stood up sharply, so fast that your chair fell over. Grabbing your tablet, you turned, and walked away from the table.
“(Y/n), where are you going,” Liz asked.
“Stay here, we’re your friends,” Chrissy added, and earned evil stares from the others.
“He’s my friend too,” you mumbled, more to yourself, before you started searching for that familiar mop of black hair.
You were sure Frank had seen your invitation, but he probably had also seen your friend’s reactions. And knowing Frank he probably had searched some place far away from where he could cause any trouble. Following your instincts, you walked into the school yard, and sure enough he was sitting under one of the trees, the tablet with food on his knees.
“Can I sit with you,” you asked smiling, and watched how Frank’s eyes widened before he quickly nodded.
“Yeah, yes, of course… what are you doing out here,” he wondered.
Carefully you sat down closely next to him, so close that your shoulders and knees were almost touching.
“My friends were mean, and I don’t like it when people are mean,” you shrugged and started eating as if that explained everything.
For a while there was comfortable silence. Frank quietly wondered how he even deserved being in your company, and if you were embarrassed about being seen with him, but whenever he glanced over to you, you were smiling, sometimes shooting him a glance too, and when students walked by who you knew, you waved and said hi as you always did. In the meantime you were wondering if Frank was bothered by your presence, whether maybe he preferred being alone, but he did not strike you as the type to stay quiet about that. And he had said you could sit with him.
When both of you had finished eating, Frank took all his courage, and turned to you.
“(Y/n), I was wondering if maybe you’d like to… go out sometimes,” he asked, his eyes nervously darting around, “you know, for pizza, or just a coffee or something?”
Your heart, which already had been beating hard, made a little jump at his question, and you felt blood rising to your cheeks while a fond smile tucked on your lips.
“I’d love to,” you smiled, making Frank look up to your face hopefully, “when do you have time?”
“How about tomorrow, after school,” he suggested. His eyes were shining brightly, and you were too distracted by them for a moment to give him a proper answer immediately.
“8pm? I know a great pizzeria not too far away,” you added, feeling like the offer for coffee had been an emergency addition in case you felt like asking you out for pizza was too much.
“I- yes, that sounds great,” Frank beamed, and got up from the floor, offering you his hand to help you up, which you took.
“Then it’s a date,” you nodded happily as he pulled you up.
“A date?”
“If that’s what you want,” you quickly added.
“Yes, yes, that- yes, definitely,” frank stuttered, and nodded violently, making you chuckle.
“Can’t wait,” you whispered.
“(y/n)! There you are!”
Confused you turned and found your friends were approaching Frank and you from over the yard. Much to your worry you could literally feel how Frank started to draw back into his shell, and even without seeing him you knew the smile on his face had faded completely.
“I wanted to apologise,” Chrissy explained as they were close enough.
“We. We wanted to apoligise,” Carl corrected, and Liz, together with the others, nodded.
“It wasn’t cool of us to call you a loser, Frank” Chrissy addressed Frank, who looked up in surprise, when he heard his name.
“I’m sure you’re a really decent guy, and we shouldn’t have judged you without knowing you,” Liz added.
“You’re right, you shouldn’t have,” you agreed with them, your voice still hard, but inside you were bursting with happiness. Yes, sometimes these people annoyed the hell out of you, but at the end of the day things like this apology was why you were friends with them.
“It’s okay,” Frank shook his head, “just words, right?”
“It’s not okay,” Chrissy disagreed, “we were mean, and that’s not acceptable. We’re sorry.”
“Apology accepted,” Frank shrugged, and you could tell that he really was rather indifferent towards it. To you on the other hand this apology towards Frank meant a lot.
“So… now that that’s out of the way… let’s put this stuff,” you motioned to the tablets, “back to the lunch hall, and go to class?”
As if on cue the first bell rang in just that moment. Frank and you picked up your tablets, and put them together so there was less to carry. Your friends already had started the next conversation, from what you could tell still focused around the party on Saturday, but this time it concerned the music.
You fell back to Frank, who had insisted on carrying the tablets, and was now balancing them with one hand, the other tucked in a pocket of his jeans.
“Hey Frank, any suggestions,” Carl asked, and turned around while walking.
“What,” Frank asked confused, and you found yourself admiring the startled expression on his face.
“Music for our party on Friday,” Chrissy explained, “you’re coming, right?”
Frank looked over to you nervously, and but, other than smile at him, you gave no response.
“If that’s okay,” he answered hesitantly.
“Of course, you’re (y/n)’s friend, so you’re our friend too,” Liz explained.
“So: music,” Carl looked at Frank curiously, still walking backwards.
“Uhm… ever heard of the Smashing Pumpkins?”
“That’s the band you’re into too, right (y/n),” Liz recalled, and you nodded.
The others turned back to their conversation, and you could tell Frank was glad he they were not talking to him anymore for the moment. You giggled lightly, a sound that immediately pulled a smile on Frank’s face again. Taking a quick glance down to the hand he had buried in his pocket, you reached over and brushed your fingers over the back of his hand, gently tucking on it.
Surprised he looked over to you, but he got the message, and pulled his hand out of the pocket. Before his brain had even processed completely what you were doing, you had intertwined your fingers with his, and together you walked over the school ground back to class.

Mike Shinoda's show in Zurich, 17. March 2019
I had the amazing chance to attend one of Mike’s concerts of the last Post Traumatic Tour. And it was absolutely awesome!
You can read all about my little adventure under the cut. It’s pretty long though. xD
I was very surprised when Mike announced a show in Switzerland, since we did pretty bad in the „WeDemand“ campaign and I barely knew any other Swiss fans. But I was so grateful and excited – Zurich is only about 20km from my home! In order to help make the show a success I founded a Facebook group for it. On show day we had 90 members! I had also joined the Linkin Park Street Team a while ago and they sent me some posters to put up. And I printed 1'000 flyers and distributed them around Zurich with some friends from the group. I met so many nice people from all over the world thanks to that group: Finland, Denmark, Brazil, Spain, USA, etc. And even finally some fellow Swiss fans! We planned flash mobs, painted a flag and even had a little meet up the day before the show. It was so much fun! Thank you LP Family, I love you all dearly. <3
Since I'm an LPU member, I tried my luck with the Meet & Greet contest again. And as usual when it comes to random, luck-based things, I had none. But there was another contest by the host of the event. They wanted us to tell them, why we deserve to win a Meet & Greet. Both of my sisters wrote beautiful, heartwarming comments about my commitment with the FB group and advertising, but also how I coped with Chester's death by drawing all those LP artworks and how much this band (and especially Mike) mean to me. Even complete strangers said, that they think I deserve it most. That moved me to tears! At first the tickets were given away to someone else. But one of the winners got ill and asked the host to give the ticket to someone who really wants it. And they chose me! I couldn't believe it! That was so nice of all of them. Thank you so much. <3 And so the most incredible thing happened: I got to meet my hero! The 16 lucky winners were taken into the cool London bus of a local radio station. There we all got to meet Mike one by one. It was awesome, but unfortunately also very brief. Everything happened so fast, that I didn't really have time to realize what was going on. I just remember that the first thought that went through my head when I stood in front of him was: “He is so CUTE!”. I mean, I knew that before, but he's even more adorable in real life and up close. xD I was very nervous and probably talked too much, which is very unlike me. But I could finally give Mike the Post Traumatic artwork I drew for him, which means my biggest dream came true. And he signed the second one for me. In the picture it looks as if he wanted to say something about it, but couldn't because I was blabbering too much – damn! I'm so sorry, Mike. Oh, and the hat was a gift to him from one of my friends from the group. I almost started laughing, when I realized he wore a jacket with the exact same pattern – that's so Mike! And also yay, free fluff. :D
After the Meet & Greet we were even allowed to go into the venue first! That meant front row! I've never been that close to a stage before and was super excited about it. I'm usually not the “front row type”, since I'm quite reluctant and shy. While waiting there, I saw a crew member put our Swiss flag onto Matt's keyboard. I texted the girl, who painted it and she was super happy about it. We succeeded with getting the flag to the crew through the M&G – I was damn proud of us! xD Then the “opening act” started. Well, it was more of a last minute stand in, since the original one (a local rapper) got canceled without any explanation. And so a young “DJ” was hiding behind his laptop, playing one song after another without doing any DJ-ing. They could have just turned the radio on, but it was okay. We weren't there for him anyway. And finally, showtime! Mike, Matt and Dan entered the stage with lots of applause from the crowd. They even started the set with a song that hasn't opened any sets on this tour before: When They Come For Me. I love this song, it's so much fun! I was just hoping that my parents, who I talked into coming to the show too (yes, I did that with everyone I knew xD), didn't catch a certain word. I didn't want them to think badly of Mike. xD Following was the probably most well-known (at least in Switzerland) Fort Minor song Remember The Name, also unusually early in the set. Then Mike took the first little break and welcomed the audience. That was our signal for the first flash mob! It was a very spontaneous one, inspired by a certain video, he has uploaded just a few days prior. The front row was shouting: More cowbell! Mike started laughing and walked over to Dan, who indeed had a cowbell on his drum set. Mike said “Just for you guys.” and played a hilarious cowbell intro to Ghosts, which is a kinda funny song anyway, thanks to the sock puppets. I was so happy: Another success and we even made Mike laugh! :D
Next Mike talked about a tweet from the same day, where someone was analyzing the chances of a song being played in his set. He doesn't like to be predictable, so he decided to screw up the statistics and play some extra rare songs tonight. Thank you, spreadsheet guy! xD The first song that came from this, was the hilariously sarcastic High Road. It's in my Top 3 FM songs and funnily enough, he played it last year in Cologne too – one of only 5 times on the tour! The following song had a high chance of being played and I love it very much: The emotional Roads Untraveled. During the “and if you need a friend, there's a seat here alongside me”, Mike pointed at the crowd again. That's just so nice of him! Then Mike played something super rare again, it was actually even a tour debut: Kenji! I know how much this song about the tragic history of his family means to Mike, so it was a great honor to hear it live. Some fans (including me) even made the peace sign at the end of the song, like he used to. That was really moving. And he continued with songs I love dearly, starting with the PT bonus track Prove You Wrong. Even though the melody sounds kinda sad, there is something so uplifting in those lyrics. Mike also put it into his Instagram stories and you can actually see me singing along. I sang every song as loud as I could, forgetting about my shyness for a while. It was amazing! The next song in the set was the only one that got me emotional in a negative way (but only for a second). I was prepared for In The End and his speech, but I was not prepared for Nobody Can Save Me. For a moment I was back on July 20th, sitting in the darkness of my room and singing along to the One More Light album while crying. Luckily I managed to snap out of that quickly, because I actually love this song. It's one of the best Linkin Park has ever written, in my opinion, because it has such a great message. Nobody can save us – only we ourselves can. And Mike sang so beautifully... What an honor to hear that live! Another OML song followed (luckily not OML itself, I just can't take that one): Sorry For Now. Dan played an amazing drum solo in the bridge and Mike added the demo verse of Lift Off afterwards. He then even rapped the chorus of Step Up, a super rare and old LP song! (I could tell, because barely anybody knew the answer to “Who can rock a rhyme like this?” - I swear I shouted “Like this!” as loud as I could. xD) I love Step Up! Especially in the amazing rock-hip hop medley with Nobody's Listening and It's Going Down, that LP used to play in the Meteora days. Mike then also introduced Dan, who got a lot of applause from the crowd. Later he also introduced Matt, by asking him since when he's even been there. Matt answered: “The entire tour, but sometimes I take bathroom breaks.”, which resulted in Mike laughing about his British accent. These dorks! There was also another crew member, that Mike introduced to us: Photographer Chady. Some Swiss friends of his had invited Mike to eat Raclette (melted cheese that you usually put on potatoes, pickles and pearl onions – it's very tasty!). Mike joked that eating lots of cheese before a show is really good for you. xD The set continued with PTs lead single Crossing A Line, which inspired my artwork. I just love how hopeful it is. During the song, Mike threw some guitar picks into the crowd. I wasn't trying to catch anything, since I already had that awesome signature and thought other fans deserved it more. But I guess Mike had other plans... During the bridge of the song he plays on his drum pads for a moment and then throws the sticks into the crowd blindly. Well, he tried to kill me with it! xD (Luckily I put the phone away, just a moment before the drumstick hit my hand. Damned it Mike, that hurt! xD)
He then played another PT song, which I love dearly: Hold It Together. The lyrics are pretty dark, but there is something very fun about the melody. The first mashup followed: Waiting For The End / Where'd You Go. The crowd's singing sounded amazing, especially in the outro, which is a piano version of WFTEs first verse and chorus. Mike praised us: “You guys have beautiful voices. You should sing more often, it's good for you.” Matt and Dan left the stage and Mike started this calm piano playing and speech. Time for our second flash mob! We held up signs that said: “Music Inspiration Kindness Emotion”. This time there were even more signs than for the first one. (I spent quite some time inviting every fan to join our flash mob before the show and handing out the signs I designed.) Mike noticed them, curiously asking “What are those?” Then he realized it: “That's my name! That's very kind. Thank you guys very much, that's cool.“ He seemed so happy and both of our flash mobs were a success! He then continued with his speech, saying that he doesn't want these shows to be sad, but to celebrate Chester's life instead. The crowd cheered very loudly for Chester for several minutes! And then we all sang the beautiful piano version of In The End together. After that, Mike asked us if we wanted to sing another song. Is that even a question?! xD He started to play Heavy, but stopped before the singing part, because he thought the crowd would want another song more. I already got worried during the show and it really hurt me, when I saw all the hate the Swiss crowd got on social media from people who weren't even there... As if we wouldn't know the words to Heavy... It's the most played LP song on the Swiss radio! We would have loved to sing it! (Me especially, because my father was in the crowd and he really likes that song.) But Mike decided that Numb would be a better fit, maybe even to not make everyone too sad. Numb is my favorite Linkin Park song, because it's the one that made me fall in love with the band in the first place. And it was awesome to sing it with so many people. The Swiss crowd did a great job! Video: In The End & Numb (with Mike's speech & reaction to the second flash mob) They closed the main set with my favorite medley of the tour: About You / Over Again / Papercut. Even though it reminds me a lot of Chester (About You & Over Again are the PT songs that are most about him) and it's really painful to see Mike perform Papercut's bridge alone, I could also enjoy it. Everyone was jumping around and shouting during Papercut. That song is just so great! Mike, Matt and Dan then left the stage for the encore break. The crowd started to sing “lift me up, let me go”, but not as loud as in Italy a few days before. We are just a generally reluctant nation. The hall also wasn't as full as I hoped it would be. There were probably around 2'000 people. Hopefully we did well enough for Mike to want to come back to Switzerland. After a few minutes, Mike, Matt and Dan sneaked back on stage, hiding behind their instruments. As if we wouldn't notice them anyway! Such dorks. xD They played a beautiful instrumental version of Robot Boy, which really let their skills and teamwork shine. It's so sad to think that this is the last Post Traumatic tour. Matt and Dan have really grown on me and it's hard to see them leave. Mike then sang a beautiful PT song I haven't heard live before and that wasn't even originally planned: World's On Fire. I know he wrote it for his wife Anna (and his kids), who is a wonderful person too, but it was as if the crowd was singing it for Mike. It's true, when the world's on fire, all we need is him. I'm so grateful that he shared PT with us! He led us all through the grief and darkness that followed Chester's death. And that night it was obvious, that we are in a much better place now. Following was the beautiful, consoling Castle Of Glass, one of my favorite LP songs. And then they played the second PT single Make It Up As I Go. Such an amazing song and it always reminds me of those hilarious moth memes. xD Mike encouraged us to sing his part of the chorus while directly looking at me. I was singing my heart out! He smiled and shouted “yeah!” That was an awesome moment. I rarely felt so appreciated like on that day, not just by Mike but also by the other fans. The last mashup followed: Good Goodbye / Bleed It Out (including a drunken pirate who wanted to give Mike a kiss xD) and the crowd went wild! For Running From My Shadow, the last song of the set, Mike came down to the crowd as he always does. He stood on the barricade just about two meters away from me. It was great to see him have so much fun up close! Afterwards he high-fived the front row (including me :D) and returned to the stage. He smashed one of Dan's cymbals until the end of the song and then soaked us in water. When Mike left the stage, he stopped at our Swiss flag and blew it a kiss. I loved seeing that, because it gave me hope that we didn't disappoint him and he might come back someday.
I still can't believe all of this actually happened! I made new friends from all over the world. I met my hero and finally got to give him my artwork. I got to spend the entire show in front row, super close to Mike. They played so many amazing songs and had so much fun. The flash mobs worked out and our flag made it on stage. All my hard work payed off. I really enjoyed this concert, it was a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you so much, everyone! I hope I'll see you all again soon. ;)

*is holding a fire extinguisher* *notices [you]* “Oh! It’s fine. We won’t be needing that. We’re just gonna be lighting some whiskey on fire.”
“Wow! [name] that looks great! That looks amazing!” ß intended as sarcasm.
“You’re not supposed to look at me. That’s supposed to be someone else.”
“Please don’t fall apart please don’t fall apart please don’t fall apart please don’t fall apart – It’s falling apart, wait, hold on.”
“Oh yes. Here we go. I feel like making a sand castle.”
“You could argue that it doesn’t look exactly like as in the picture. But I would say better – some would say better. I – I would say better.”
“Now we just need to light it on fire.”
“Realistically, it should be lit on fire. It’s the only –“ *laughs* “-It’s the only reasonable thing to do.”
“That’s not – that’s not gonna survive going the other way, so that’s how it is now.”
*drinks straight from whiskey bottle.*
*pours whiskey into saucepan/whatever it’s a thing on the hob* “Why are you backing away? WHY ARE YOU BACKING AWAY??” *suppressed laughter.”
“The [Meringue] was the downfall, that’s where it went wrong. As opposed to the rest, that – that went fine. That was great.”
“Okay. Well. That went well.”
Superhot VR But I’m More Like Super Not:
“Alright, let’s get started, I’m gonna… pick up, the gun.”
“And everything goes to hell right away.”
“So I can keep moving, do the ol’… roly-poly, and then shoot him. Easy.”
“Don’t shoot me, don’t shoot me!” *takes gun.* “Aha!”
“I’m just gonna stand here, I like the compliments.”
“Holy crap this is awesome! Floppy discs are back!”
“Oh god, I’m sorry, that was a bit unfair.” *saw you and shot you.*
“I smashed my wall so hard that I cut my hand. You should’a seen the wall though. I’m like… really really strong.”
“So this is what it’s like to feel cool. It’s pretty awesome, but disappointing to know I’ll never actually be this cool.”
“This is a nice bike shop, now that I look around. They don’t have many models, though, feels like a bit of wasted space.”
“Why am I throwing ninja stars? I have guns.”
“I am not a ninja. I am an action hero. Not. A. Ninja.”
“I need ninja stars now, all of a sudden.”
“That was probably a low blow anyway. It’s probably best I fail that part.”
“Like everything else I love in life, it disintegrated in my hand.”
“I don’t know why I just tried to catch a knife… by the sharp end.”
“Well I’m not gonna get a long life. Or maybe I will!”
“Once again, I am prepared for everything.”
“I had to look around me, because I was like, ‘this is the moment something comes behind me.’”
“I’ll just swat away their bullets like they’re just flies.”
“So maybe I’m actually a super villain as opposed to a super hero. I could believe that.”
Deathly Hallows Part 1 but we frustratingly finish the game:
“What the hell – what’s going on – why are you shooting at me?!”
“Wait – this is where we choose to camp; in this nuclear waste?!” *laughingly incredulous*
“Okay, fair enough… I mean, we were in a lovely forest but, I prefer nuclear reactors too.”
“I’d love to be able to count the days of two weeks on my hands.”
“Alright, you’re – apparently freed, now? I’m – not really sure how…”
“Like, do we not have anyone else that’s out here tryn’a help people? I mean, I’ve got a pretty important mission no-one else can do, can I not be doing that instead?”
“Oh my god, this guy’s strong, they’re just reflecting off him!”
“I’m just gonna keep running, it’s honestly not worth fighting from my experience.”
“Oh, this is the one that doesn’t sound as fun.”
“Oh. It’s just a newspaper. I thought it’d be like, a weapon.”
“That makes me sad, for numerous reasons.” *laughingly, but serious.*
“I’m not undesirable, lots of people desire me.” *mulish.* *pause.* “Alright, I lied, no-one does.”
“My god, he looks eerie as hell.”
“That doesn’t even look like what she’s saying, look at her lips. I think she’s possessed… Let’s kill her.”
“I’m not tryn’a be mean or anything, I know I just sound like a dick.”
“This is a lot of people to dedicate to just watching over my grave. Wait – my grave? No, my parents’ grave, my grave comes later.”
“Are you sure? It’s not like, obvious, at all.” ß sarcasm.
“That’s actually spooky as hell, not gonna lie.”
“Y’know, the house is just exploding… casual old lady stuff.”
*laughs* “I think I just got head-butted by a snake.”
“How many times am I gonna get head-butted? And how strong’s that snake’s head; he keeps head-butting me through walls.”
“Oh! Finally! You realise something’s amiss!”
“Here. Now you’re free. If you could help me, that’d be great.”
“Like anytime I kill people they drop like, random potions, and I keep wanting to drink them, but I don’t know, it seems dangerous.”
“At least he sounded thankful, the others just seem to go like ‘oh, cheers.’”
“Thank god the dead don’t know how to use stairs.”
“Like, what are you even doing? One, they’re not coming in, and two, you’re hitting the wall.”
“Sometimes you just gotta live with the consequences of your actions, y’know? [I] can’t always come save you. Even if [I] do have a bazooka.”
“Yeah, I think so too! Please!”
“Let’s see if you can handle it, then.”
“Oh. Okay, maybe you can.”
“Let’s choose the worst possible place we can find.”
“I mean, it’s nice and all, but it’s no nuclear waste, am I right?”
“Spiders I just ignore. Because they’re losers, and they have too many legs.”
“Is he following me? Or, is this following him? Either way, he’s got a lotta hazards to deal with, because I am not dealing with any of them.”
“Ah, thanks for just standing there.”
“I’m just gonna start nuking these snakes.”
“What are you doing?”
“Yeah, I think we can beat the rock.”
“Yeah but you don’t need to scream or – or do anything, to be honest, I think you’ve just won by being human.”
“The only thing good about this is hearing [] in pain. That’s the only thing that keeps me going.”
“Don’t bother attacking them buddy. They’re already dead. Just like my love for you…”
“Oh come on now don’t exaggerate, I was fine. [] just kinda stood there.”
“You’ve changed since you came back, [], you used to just be pathetic… now you’re pathetic and mean.”
“Why does [] have all these dead people in [] front yard?”
“Now even the guy try’na explode the side of the house isn’t hurting me.”
“What?! We didn’t even do anything, we just [exploded] and [died!]”
“You had about ten minutes to figure out who I was in that fight.”
“Yeah, just shout my name. Really makes messing up my face worth it, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah I’m gonna blow this house apart.”
“Ah, this is gonna be traumatic, isn’t it?”

Winner’s Curse Ch. 6
Thanks to @edream93 for her awesome playlists for WLTF. Even though she never intended for it, the songs for those CJ-centric chapters really inspired me to get into CJ’s confident mood for this ch.
CJ clapped her hands triumphantly as she crawled out of the disgusting bag of trash she had hidden herself in and looked around.
Though she smelled nauseating and was covered with a foot of dirt and grime she felt as accomplished as she had when she set sail on the Auradon seas with her very own boat.
Too bad she couldn’t have used her boat to travel back to the Isle. She would have totally impressed everyone with her stylish ride that she had tricked out with ferocious skull sails and images of impalement and other pirate crimes decorating the walls of the Captain stern. She had wanted to but then she remembered that it would be impossible to get her ship past the Magical Barrier.
So she went with the less fabulous, but still deceptive disguise as a goblin to take trash from Auradon to the Isle.
Unfortunately her lack of green skin or any sort of ugly exterior appearance made the goblins suspicious of her presence among them so her last ditch effort was to hide among the trash.
And it worked!
CJ shook the moldy banana peel from her wavy hair and wiped off the sludge from her red pirate coat and laughed to herself. It was almost funny, after years of trying to get out of this forsaken place she had spent the last month sailing her way from Camelot to Auradon Prep in order to catch the last trash run to the Isle.
It hadn’t been part of her life plan. She had been having a grand old time on the high seas, looting and plundering from the too trusting goody goody tourists, getting riches and drinking life as well as beer when she had gotten spotted a letter in a bottle.
CJ loved letters in bottles, ever since she was a kid and her dad had told her that pirate used to put letters in bottles so that people may never find the directions to their treasure or put threatening notes to scare whoever found the bottle next.
Not that she had the chance to see many bottles near the Isle or send any out. Resources like paper were scarce and Dad tend to reuse bottles to fill them up with his beer.
So she took the bottle out of the sea and opened it up. She had expected a good chuckle over whatever vile threat the note had but was shocked to see it was actually addressed to her.
Hey CJ,
I know this is probably won’t get to you, but I gotta try, you know.
I guess yer dad hadn’t told you that he screwed with me and that I am your mother but I am. It had been bad night and instead of using his hook to slit my throat, it slipped down his pants and things kinda went from there.
Anyway I hear ya pilliging Auradon so that’s awesome. Give those Auradonians something to scream about, stab every last one of them and take all their fancies. Especially silver, silver sells well on the black market.
I’m writing because even though you probably don’t want to go back to this stupid place, I’m planning a raid on your da’s Jolly Roger. If you help me, it can be yours after I die or get murdered. You deserve it, you’re more of a pirate than your siblings will ever be.
Fine sailing matey,
Lady Caine
Lady Caine was her mother.
At first she had been skeptical but then she realized why would Lady Caine have to gain from lying that she was her mother. No one on the Isle really knew who both their parents were and those who may have fathered r mothered them never said so because they didn’t care. So why would Lady Caine lie about being CJ’s mom? It wasn’t like she would have anything to gain from it. It wasn’t like CJ was going to blindly follow her or want a tearfully reunion from the women. She must have thought that now CJ was all grown up, she was capable enough to be a worthy ally.
Besides having Lady Caine to be her bio mom wasn’t exactly disappointing.
Lady Caine was the self-proclaimed, “Queen of Thieves” and the only female pirate that was on the Isle so CJ secretly admired her despite dad’s deep hatred.
She was everything CJ ever wanted to be when she grew up, manipulative, self-centered, ruthless, and a “devil may care” attitude towards the few authorities that were present on the Isle.
And it turned out she was her mother.
And she was offering her a chance to inherit the Jolly Roger!
Though CJ loved the boat she currently had, the boat she had bought with her own stolen money, she wanted the Jolly Roger even more.
The Jolly Roger would be a sure sign of who was the finest and scariest pirate in the kingdom.
Not her siblings who had tried to use her as their own first mates instead of recognizing her fearsomeness. Not her dad who was far past his glory days.
Her.
She had always thought that Harriet would end up taking over dad’s ship being the oldest and the one who spent so much of her teenage years to maintaining it when Dad was too drunk or hungover to do it himself. She was the one who handled the members of Dad’s crew when they got out of line and was the one who made the dock the place not be at nighttime.
Harriet deserved the Jolly Roger, she had put so much effort.
But that would be doing the right thing and being a good person was never CJ’s priority.
That ship was going to be hers so she hiked the first current out of Camelot and now she was here. She had kept that letter safe in her coat pocket along with her trusty compass so she could get both at any time.
CJ decided to head to her old room first in order to pick up some of her belongings that she had left behind.
The streets were dark and empty which was usually the first sign that you were going to get jumped but minutes passed and CJ walked by, unassulted.
Now that she really looked around, it seemed no one was about. Lights were off and shutters binded. The place had become a real ghost town.
Maybe it was fight night at Gaston’s bar, that usually drew a large crowd.
Even though it was a dark tar black with no extra lights on, CJ was able to find her way to the Jolly Roger. She could find that place in her sleep. It was a point of pride for a pirate captain to find their ship wherever they went and the Jolly Rogers would be hers.
The old idiot, Smee was sleeping on guard duty. It was tempting for CJ to hit him around a little as her father would do if he saw Smee sleeping on the job like this but refrained, she would do it when she left.
The ship creaked and groaned under her weight but no one came to the upper dock to shout intruder so CJ continued below deck to her room.
The last room on the stern was hers as it was because she was the last and therefore insignificant as Harriet told her. The quarters were tight and now that she had grown a few inches she kept banging her head against the ceiling.
The place looked like it had been ransacked. The pirate maps she had drew when she was younger, the ones that showed the route she believed to go to Neverland were all torn up. Her few thin blankets were shredded to threads. Her small chest was splintered apart as if someone brought a mallet to it and the items she had stolen, one of Ursula’s shell necklaces, bullets from Rourke, fancy hats from Anastasia among others laid scattered on the floor.
“Ugh. No respect. No one has respect.” CJ muttered as she got on her hands and knees to search for what she really wanted, her telescope. She would need it in order to plan attacks on enemies from afar.
“Whose here?” A voice growled from behind her and CJ whirled around, fists ready to battle.
“CJ?” Harry stared at her slack-jawed as if he was seeing Davy Jones in the flesh and CJ relaxed her fists.
From the dim candle lantern in Harry’s hand, CJ could see that her brother hadn’t changed a bit. His face was smeared with grease paint and too much eyeshadow with his messy hair sometimes flopping over his eyes. Though he was sporting a new scar above his eyebrow. His clothes were still raggedy and torn but it also looked like they were hanging on his frame rather than highlighting his intimidating muscles.
Before CJ could wonder about whether he was eating less, Harry thrust a hook under nose and demanded, “What are ye doing here?”
CJ decided to go for sass, pushing his hook away she snorted, “This is my room.”
“Not anymore.” Harry kicked her, “You live in Auradon now, brat.”
CJ bit her lip to keep from groaning as Harry’s foot connected with her gut and punched at his nuts causing him to jump back and slam himself against the door. She took the moment to grope under her bed for the feel of her telescope when at last she felt the cool glass.
She pulled it out from under her bed, slid it down her boot and casually stretched out her muscles as if Harry’s hostility didn’t faze her one bit. And it didn’t. She had dealt with his mood swings for years and though he usually didn’t get so physically rough, she was quite capable of holding on her own.
When she cocked her head to crack her neck bones, CJ was startled by the hatred in his glare for her and was even more startled by this strange feeling of pain tugging her heart.
Harry never looked at her that way before. Usually he looked at her with anger and annoyance, not hatred. After all, she was his baby sister, it was her job to compete with and annoy him to death.
Then again, she had been forgetting what his face looked like since she left, maybe her memory was just fuzzy. It wasn’t like their relationship was a solid, trusting one. Ha! None of her relationships were. Especially with her siblings.
CJ swore they hated each other from day one. Harriet despised that she was on “mom” duty at twelve years, having to clean and change their dirty diapers and they didn’t even pay her back by becoming her loyal first mate. Instead they were her worst enemy when it came to competing for control of the dock.
Harry was a disgrace since he chose not to lead and follow Captain Hook’s fierce reputation but chose to be subservient to another Vk and be a loyal member of a crew.
CJ hated them both for always underestimating her and taking away her attention and resources so no one on the Isle feared her, they saw her as the overdramatic, neurotic, controlling youngest child of Hook. Not a evil pirate on her own.
“Why are ya-“ Harry was about to ask again but CJ shoved past him and walked up to the deck.
“CJ!” Harry yelled, stomping up the stairs.
“Shut up with the hissy fit, Hawthorne! Save your dramatics for Shrimpy!” CJ yelled back using her brother’s hated full name and hated nickname for his captain, “I won’t be in your hair for long. I’ve just come for what’s rightfully mine.”
“DON’T call Uma, Shrimpy and nothing here is for you.” Harry snarled catching the tail end of CJ’s coat.
“SHUT UP, I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!” Their dad’s booming voice shocked the two into silence for a moment before they heard him resume his snoring.
“The Jolly Ranger is mine.” CJ glanced down at the lovely old ship and lovingly caressed the railing. “Mom said it should be. And we’re going to make sure it will.”
“We don’t have a mom.” Harry snorted derisively but CJ took out her letter and waved it tauntingly in his face.
“I do. It’s Lady Caine.” CJ smirked triumphantly as Harry read the words himself and his eyes darted between her and the letter in disbelief.
He tore the letter from her hand and crumpled into a little ball to throw in the ocean but CJ didn’t care. She didn’t need it anymore.
Harry stared at her as if she was a total stranger which was another look that seemed to pain her heart for some reason but CJ ignored it. She may have been living in Auradon but it had not made her soft. She did not care for her brother one bit.
CJ turned to loop one of the ropes used for keeping the sail open to her wrist, “Ta ta, Harry!”
With one practiced launch, she leapt off the boat and swung her way to the dock while knocking Harry’s hat to the water.
“CJAAAAY!”
With that ferocious shout and swears of vengeance, and Smee’s startled gasp, CJ smiled and nodded to herself confidently.
Calista Jane Hook was back everybody.

Oh Anon, you done permitted me to unleash my Klance storm I’ve been brewing all evening let me tell you…
So here's the thing I back when the SDCC thing dropped. James looks like he has purple eyes. I thought he was going to be revealed as a Galra plant? But no, he just has violet-ish eyes and honestly to me? He looks like a Klance lovechild.
Which got me thinking. What if he was? (Through a combo of Alien science DNA-mixing and a surrogate).
Okay so basically the premise is like in Sailor Moon when Chibiusa shows up but KLANCE:
His parents sent him through a cosmic wormhole or whatever because it isn't safe for him in the future timeline but maybe something goes wrong and he lost part of his memory and was adopted by the Griffins but remembers his Dad (Lance) and Pops (Keith). Just not their names and their faces are fuzzy but he remembers them loving and protecting him and each other.
As a wee child he arbitrarily decided that his Pops is the only person in the world allowed to call him "Jim" or any variation thereof bc his Pops is so chill about it.
(This made Future!Lance sad bc he named him James Tiberius Kogane-McClain for a REASON and wanted to be able to do “Damn it, Jim! I’m your father not a...” Dad jokes and JAMES SENSED THIS WAS COMING)
When he meets Keith at school he hates him. He doesn't know why. At the Garrison he's super fond of Lance and they both consider themselves Keith's rival and maybe bond a little over that? But also Lance is funny! Reminds him of his Dad’s sense of humor. Huh.
Keith gets so exasperated at one point he goes to Shiro:
"UGH WHY DOES JAMES HATE ME IS IT BECAUSE I'M GAY?"
And Shiro's like, "Well Keith, James was telling that Taylor kid that he has two dads, do you think it–"
"WHAT. WHAT THE, wait, omg he's friends with Taylor wtf I don't want to hate him he's so damn cute, I HATE HIM NOW AND HIS STUPID TWO DADS."
There's other clues like when Lance finds out James's full name is James Tiberius and he's like "ZOMG I always wanted to name my future kid that!! I never told anyone that before!! Why am I shouting? JAMES YOU'RE SO COOL!!"
*Keith overhearing this in the lunch room, snapping his spork in frustration*
"Why Taylor whyyyyyy... I can't tell if you have bad taste or if I do?!"
*Adam slowly slides him a Capri Sun and pats his shoulder*
(Future!Keith didn't fight Future!Lance on the name bc he got a "BABIES AND WOLVES DON'T NAME THEMSELVES, OKAY??" lecture and it makes Lance super happy. However the next kid has to be named Yoralivan they promised Krolia).
James and Keith are arguing and Keith is like "WHATEVER JIMBO!" and James just freezes because that's what his Pops and ONLY his Pops calls him and he cries because hearing Keith say that name in that tone causes his memories to come flooding back.
He runs away to his bunk and tries to rationalize it and realizes he must be in an alternate reality like Uncle Slav said! Because his dads can't really be the goofball who does random silly dances in the hallway and the annoying rebel show-off? RIGHT?
Wrong :)
So that's the day Keith gets kicked out of the Garrison. James doesn't talk to Lance anymore, and Lance thinks he did something wrong but won't get an answer out of him but shrugs it off because he's a fighter pilot now!
Cut to the paladins returning to Earth. And Keith is back and so is Lance and wait… They're holding hands. Oh no. OHHHH NOOOOOOOOO. OH GOD NOT THIS REALITY TOO! I CANNOT WATCH MY PARENTS DO THIS WHAT IF I WALK IN ON THEM DOING SOMETHING THAT WILL SCAR ME.
James is now having a crisis because they have to save Earth but also he REALLY is getting weirded out watching his parents make goo-goo eyes at each other.
He also quickly realizes they both plan to propose to one another and starts conveniently interrupting and separating them.
But also? He oddly… supports them!? Like when they snipe at each other he tries to shut that noise down quickly and yells at Keith to go apologize to Lance because "He deserves so much better than YOU, but you make him happy so don't fuck that up, okay?"
(He’s secretly cheering inside because holy FUCK he’s allowed to yell and swear at his Pops and he’s not getting a “Language!” raised eyebrow of disapproval from his Dad or Uncle Shiro).
Actually it makes him pang a little inside because one of his favorite things is when his Dad would hear him swear and he and his Pops would make fun of his reaction:
“Language James! Keith, back me up here.”
“... Watch your fucking mouth, Jim”
“KEITH!”
“LKSDJHS I will father, I will.”
Keith has already realized his Taylor error from back in the day so he remembers James and Tay-Lance being buds and OH NO IS THIS FUCKER AFTER MY MAN. FFFF IM PROPOSING RIGHT NOW.
Keith has Cosmo (Kosmo?) zap them away to the cockpit of the Red Lion bc James can't interrupt them there and he proposes with a ring he forged during his two years on the space whale after smelting down a re-puposed dagger Krolia had from her family. Lance cries and takes his own ring out of his pocket that his mom gave him (was her father's ring) after she spent 3 minutes with Keith and Lance in the same room and realized her son needed to put a ring on that STAT.
James is. Very. Conflicted.
Because he loves his parents. He wants to go back to them.
But they're also right in front of him and he can't let it show. Because he's realized he is in his own timeline (damn it Slav!!) and he doesn't want to butterfly effect himself out of existence.
(Or he'll wake up and his middle name isn't Tiberius it's Kosmo-Yorak-Kolivan-Texas or whatever Keith would decide in revenge for all the crap he's put him through).
They do find out though. It's a little weird.
Shiro just blinks and is like. "I should be more surprised right? But I have a floaty robot-arm and Altean magic powers and I literally could not fathom how i'm supposed to be shocked anymore."
Adam buys Keith a lot of Capri Suns (in this universe James sabotaged his getting to the mission on time like his Pops told him to and Adam is perfectly awesomely ALIVE bc fuck why not I'm already writing a Klance lovechild Sailor Moon AU so Adam lives bitches).
Happy ending! James goes back to the future and Lance is hugging him like "Omg I am so PROUD YOU GREW UP SO GOOD UGH YOU ARE GONNA BE SUCH A HEARTBREAKER NO DATING UNTIL YOU ARE 22 PROMISE ME!!"
James rolls his eyes. "Da~aaad. You were how old when you two started–"
"NO DATING UNTIL YOU ARE TWENTY TWO!"
Keith's all soft, fond smile on his face, "Nice work, Jimbo," and ruffling his hair. "But did you have to be such a royal pain to your Pops like that?"
"Shut up Mullet!" James and Lance say while both crying and hugging.
"Yeah okay… Your name is Yorak now."
Uncle Adam and Uncle Takashi are crying into their Capri Suns. Uncle Slav has been tossed into the brig by Aunt Allura for almost interrupting the reunion.

Craving (Sebastian Stan One shot)
Hi there! I just brought you something to read this beautiful saturday afternoon, I hope you will like it! You should know that english isn’t my first language so sorry for the mistakes but beside that I hope you will enjoy this!
Inspiration? THIS post from @amor-imagines (SO happy that she wouldn’t mind using her post, thanks for that again. Also you should really check out her page, it’s awesome)
Who is in it? Reader x Sebastian Stan (+ Chace Crawford x Elisabeth Olsen X Nina Dobrev x Jessica Szohr)
Words? 4049
Ps.: I don’t mind feedbacks at all! It would mean so much to me! <3
- Like really, Chace… what was that picture about? – I asked him this rethorical question but I knew he will answer it for me. I was sitting in my kitchen, my laptop was in my lap and I was at Chace’s Instagram profile while I was talking to him at the phone.
- You say that like it’s a huge problem.. – I could literally imagine his face saying that, like he was really playing with me.
„Here you have Sebastian Stan, talking on the phone with Y/N. I’m the third wheel even if Y/N is not here. #younglove – I read him out loud the capture of his latest instagram post which involved me, pretending I’m him.
- You know I don’t sound like that. – he clapped back right away, cleary avoiding my point. He thought he was good at this avoiding game, I knew he wasn’t. – Also… you don’t have to lie about it… I know he was talking to you then. – he added, feeling he was like a brilliant Sherlock Holmes.
- Why would I lie about it? – I knew he knew I was talking to Sebastian like 10 minutes ago, because Seb made me say hello to Chace because altough our friend tried his best spy game on Seb he failed miserably. Our friends really thought they were clever. They were painfully wrong.
- … on Sebastian’s face there was that cute smile which only appears when he is talking to YOU. You think we haven’t noticed it? – he really thought that I was this amateur after all this years of friendship? Poor Chace.
- Dear Chace….- I started while laughing hard. - … I knew you were there. Also Sebastian is one of my best friends, you can back off. – I added while resting my palms on my forehead.
- But really Y/N… have you seen the comments below? – I think he lives in such an alternative universe where he simply ingores what the other says, in this case one of his best friends, me.
- You are the one who really should know that reading all the comments does not lead to a good place. – I said while massaging my nose and thinking about that I’m spending my lunch break talking about this „important” issue.
„This is so cute” – silence – „Can we have an affirmation about Y/N and Seb? Are they really a thing? – silence – „I CAN NOT PROCESS THIS *heart eyed emojis*” – Chace thought that reading me the comments playing three different fangirls was a good idea but this really didn’t have an effect on me. I saw the comments and I knew there are lots of them like A LOT.
- You are worse than a child Chace, really. – I said while I held my phone between my face and shoulder and I may or may not started typing something in the comment section. – Although… you are on vacation… why is your phone glued to your hands? – I highlighted the most important thing. – Sent. – muttered myself quietly.
- Everyone is preparing themself for lunch, and I’m ready to go, besides…. don’t you miss your best friend? – he was reffering to himself trying to get an admitting answer from me.
- What a shame that my break is over. – I started acting like a drama queen trying to hold my laughing back. It was a total failure.
- You are a freelance writer, Y/N. – he highlighted that I organize my time as I want.
- Good bye Chace. – I giggled and I wanted to break the conversation but I heard his last words.
- I saw your comment. – he added like I didn’t know about that. It was on Instagram, on social media, for God sake.
„As you can see Chace, I’m there even if I’m not”. – this was my comment under that Sebastian picture leaving the conspiracy theories for the online community which I know really well and which included my dear friends too.
I met Chace and Sebastian on the set of Gossip Girl years ago and while they were actors in the show I was an intern for the writers and actually afters years I became one too. Even the show ended years ago our friendship didn’t. And over the years we became more than friends, we became family, a real family. We could be in different parts of the world but we were there for each other. Always.
- Our lunch date is still going on, right? – I could deny that I live my life on my phone but it wouldn’t really matter anyway so right now I was talking to Lizzie ont he phone, aka to Miss Olsen.
- I already see the wineglass in my hand, I’m daydreaming about it. – I answered while I kept reading the script which I was working on right now. I tried to save what I could but it was really a challenge.
- I have exactly the same daydreams… - she added laughing. – I think this day will never be over. – I could really hear in her voice that she was tired af. – Don’t you dare starting without me. – she said when she heard that I was drinking something.
- Chill out girl… it’s only lemonade. – I laughed.
- As if you were on vacation too…hmm… how interesting is that. – she commented that shamelessly and before even she could start to say something else they were calling her back to work.
- It looks like somebody has to work. I’m so sorry. – I acted like I was sorry but both of us knew I wasn’t.
- This is not over yet… - she threatened me but it was more like funny than scary.
They all were on a mission which really doesn’t include me but actually it was all about me… and Sebastian.
We were friends. We are friends. Me and Sebastian. We knew that.
No… I wasn’t blind or something like that. I saw what I saw and I knew the years were really good for Sebastian. But nothing really showed that we should be together. Yes there were some periods in our life when we were both singles at the same time and also we could be really flirty sometimes but that was all. Also we should really mention that Sebastian is always so flirty with women even with men too so it wasn’t something special with me. Although I knew something else… I knew that this flirting for him was an automatic wall around him protecting his soul. It doesn’t really harm anybody so… why should I be the one not to play along?
- Woaaahhh, what a beautiful date I have here! – Lizzie welcomed me when I probably arrived not long after her at the restaurant.
- You just said that to the bottle of wine what you just ordered, right? – I leaned closer to her just to kiss her cheek.
- It was just waiting for you. – and she gave the waiter the sign that he could pour us some wine. And oh my gosh, my soul was so waiting for this moment that I can not put into words. Closing my eyes I just enjoyed how the fresh wine cooled not just my body but my soul too. – I hope you missed me too. – she said smiling.
- I was literally counting the hours until our date… - I admitted it and grabbed some salted pastries while I was waiting for our orders. We have a habit that when we come here we always order the „Pasta of the day” and it has never disappointed us. Never. - … I’m really happy that I don’t see scripts or any work related stuffs. – I layed back to my chair enjoying the calm situation.
- Good, because if I had to change my outfit one more time I would literally run from here naked.- she admitted, probably she had a really challenging photoshoot today.
- To the working ladies. – I raised my glass and so did she.
- To working ladies who want to be drunk desperately tonight… because we deserve it. – she completed my sentence stylishly and I couldn’t agree with her more.
- Ohh sure we do. – I heard some new voice behind me and soon it was not just one person but two actually.
- I hope you don’t mind I invited them too to our date night! – Lizzie said while welcoming the two new arrivers.
- Nina, Jessica! – I inmediatly put my glass on the table and stood up hugging both of them at the same time.
- I just heard someone mentioning drunk friends. – Nina raised her eyebrows smiling at us.
- One more of this! – I inmediatly pointed at the wine bottle while looking at the waiter.
- As you wish. – he said nicely… and yeah our night started and countined as we tought it would.
After the best pasta of the city and maybe two bottles of the finest wine we just were so happy we could walk ont he streets holding each others arms. We were young and we missed each other so much. These nights when we were in the same city at the same time were to remember and we knew how to make the best of it.
- The camera is here. – Nina shouted us quite cheerfully, just like a little kid, when she wanted to take a group selfie but we didn’t really payed too much atention to her phone.
- Okay, okay, okay!- I put my arms around her neck and kissed her cheeck sweetly, so did the others.
- You… Instagram addicted people… are the worst. – I laughed and this was the first time I grabbed my phone from my purse this night.
- You seriously think we should hide from the world how awesome we are? – Nina asked this with quite a straight face.
- It would be such a shame not share it… - it was so hard not to burst into laughter but I just looked at my phone and saw something that inmediatly put my thoughts somewhere else. Maybe 2 hours ago Lizzie shared a photo of me on Instagram with quite an interesting capture:
„Hi Sebastian, isn’t my date really HOT? I mean… just look at her *fire emojis*” – the capture was interesting but what were even more interesting were the comments. „Just the fact that Lizzie mentioned Sebastian in the post is more than suspicious.”
- You know you are out of your mind, right? – I showed Lizzie the post while the others tried to read my face.
- I have a really hot date… I don’t see what’s the problem. – she said innocently and I think she lived in the same parallel universe as Chace… maybe she was even worse.
- Let’s be clear… we are each others dates. – Jessica said while hugging us. – Although… have you thought about that you would have more than beautiful kids with Sebastian? Just imagine it! Oh my gosh! – I knew she was in that other universe too and as she was thinking about that absurd conspiracy she started fanning herself with her hand.
- I just have to aggree with them. You two would make a gorgeous couple. – Nina joined in too and she started to talk to the sky… or to God while praying for us. They all were crazy.
- You people… - I shook my head while searching with my eyes the nearest bar I really needed a drink. - … you have so much free time in your hands. – I said and inmediatly disappeared because on the other side of the street I found what I wanted. They had to run just to catch me but I was in before they could do that. – I just don’t want to dry out. – I touched my throat smiling and headed to the bar. – 4 tequila gold. – I said to the bartender. – Make it 8. – I looked at the girls.
- Why do I have the feeling that you are avoiding a concrete topic… getting drunk? Why do you avoid talking about him? – Jessica asked too many questions and I really felt my head was full. Gladly the bartender just served us.
- I just want to be shamelessly drunk… my soul needs it…really. – I insisted and while I was doing that I put my first but not the last portion of cinnamon on the back of my hand before drinking that tequila.
- You know… If we wanted to put more stereotypical topics in this conversation we just couldn’t. Why? Because we are the worst. – I told Jessica as she put her phone in my face on which I could see several of our male friends doing some photoshoots while wearing barely nothing. – Okay… let’s see. Hmmm. – I gave in… I just gave in. The things I was seeing.. or at least I could imagine while looking at those photos made my heart skipping a beat. Yeah… I was drunk and I didn’t really think about rights and wrongs. – This is really a hard question…. – I said while I was thinking like my life deppended on this answer.
- Let me see… - Lizzie joined me zooming on the pics pretending it was a really hard task we had to deal with. – I don’t know…I don’t know… - she put her head on her palm.
- It’s the big range… isn’t it? – Nina asked us while looking firmly at our face. She was more than curious for our decision.
- Mr. Crawford isn’t that bad although… - Lizzie said thinking loudly.
- I have to agree with that but Mr. Hemsworth’s arms look so… strong. – I admitted and my thoughts inmediatly flew somewhere else.
- Wife, children. – Jessica said with a sad smile on her lips.
- I know that. – I agreed with her knowing our limits very well even while drunk.
- But look at this gentleman… at Mr. Hiddleston… dear Lizzie… what could you tell us about him? – I turned to her because I knew really well that she shared more than Marvel movies with him and she could know a thing or two about him.
- Tom is a… gentleman. – she said and as soon as those words left her lips she turned so red you could not imagine that. She was so cute.
- Why is that you left out one person on purpose? – Jessica literally put her phone in my face like my lips almost reached the screen on which was a photo of him… of Sebastian.
- You want me to say that out loud? Really? – I asked this three ladies around me while trying to hide that photo of him from my eyes.
- Yeah. – just like a chorus they said it at once.
- You can wait for that…
I didn’t really know how I managed to get in a cab but I was in one, and I just realised that when I opened my eyes because surely I was sleeping before. When I tried to breath in the cold morning air I realised it wasn’t that cold as it used to be… it was more humid and my lungs didn’t really liked that. I almost chocked just trying to breath.
- Look… this will help. – Jessica put a bottle in my hands and I gladly drank from it because I needed something to cool my lungs.
- This is… wine. – I almost started laughing but I drank that liquid as it was water.
- This was your idea on the airport… saying this way we won’t break the wine bottle. – Lizzie said this and while she did that I started to realise something… looking out the windows I could see clearly even with my hungover/drunk eyes that we weren’t in New York anymore.
- Arrived, ladies. – I heard the driver and I think his words were even more cruel to my body than the alcohol was. I needed a drink just to process this.
- Airport? – I asked as quite as possibly I could massaging my nose not even looking at my friends.
- Airport. – Lizzie confirmed that and stealing some french fries from Nina she looked at me like in the movies like she was eating popcorn.
- Really? – I asked really hoping that it was just a dream and somehow I will wake up soon in my own apartment.
- Really. – Jessica patted my shoulder and they could not hold in anymore. They bursted into laughter. Literally the whole cab was shaking because of them, but they really didn’t mind that at all.
I remembered literally nothing about the last couple of hours like this tiny sleeping period wiped out my whole memory section.
- We have more of this… right? – I asked holding this water/wine bottle in my hands. – Because I will not and can not explain this in a sober state of mine. – I said and carefully I started to get out of the cab. The one thing that helped me get through the whole situation that I wasn’t the only one who looked like shit. Okay… we were not looking like shit we just looked quite hungover and hungry, yes… really hungry. – Do I need even ask whose idea was this? – I put my hands on my hips as soon as I put my sunglasses on because this morning sunshine of Miami really started to hurt my eyes.
Yes… we were in Miami. Clearly I don’t know how we got here but I think they weren’t sure either.
- Do they know about us? – I turned to them and I felt if I don’t get out of my leather jacket I will burn alive here.
- I don’t think so. – Lizzie admitted while resting her chin on my shoulder.
- Okay… then I will burry myself under that tree. – I pointed at a random tree. – With this. – I added, grabbed the french fries from Nina’s hand but when I started to walk slowly a familiar face appeared in the main door of the mansion.
- Wow… wow… wow… fu… - I think he just wanted to go running but when he stepped outside he just met with four of his friends… from New York. It was a surprise for him clearly... but for us too, we could not deny it even if we tried.
- Chace! – I smiled at him with an awkward grin on my lips and before he could say something I started to walk towards him wanting to get inside of the house. We were here, we really could not do anything about it.
- Do I even want to know? – he asked the million dollar question and I stopped just in front of him just like a zombie.
- You think I could answer your question? – I ’answered’ and kept going inside. – I think I will drown myself in that pool. You will find me there. Okay? Bye. – I shouted just letting them to know where to find me.
The truth was my only desire right now was to find a cold and horizontal place where I could sleep through this, waking up in New York, hopefully.
Without thinking I stepped in the first room I found and I gladly could realise that it wasn’t some sort of storage and that the bed was empty… waiting just for me. Throwing my stuffs beside it I fell in it with my face because I really didn’t care. It was so comfy and cold and I think it was heaven on earth for me at that time. I could literally start crying because of the joy I was feeling like this bed hugged me in a way that I needed so much.
- Hmmm… what a suprise I got here. – I heard a voice from possibly the bathroom door and I just could not believe it. Without looking at him or even without opening my eyes I crawled to the pillows and layed there… just existing.
- I think it would be impossible to explain this. – I murmurred myself.
- Why should you explain it? – his voice this time came from a closer spot and I felt that the bed under him moved too so I knew he was right beside me… I felt it.
- I don’t know. – I admitted and completly felt my body melting into this bed. There was no scenario where I would leave this bed without sleeping a good one.
We were in silent, my face in the pillow and I just could not move… and the matter of fact I didn’t really want to do that. I was so calm there. And that’s when I felt that he moved my hair to one place because I think it was all over the bed and it started to get really warm around me.
- Thanks. – I said and I gathered all my strength to move a bit just to face him. I even opened my eyes. – Do I remember well… that… we even got a shipname last night? – the memories started to came back from last night… or at least some of them.
- You remember that we got a shipname… but you don’t remember how you got here? – he said laughing and he put his wet palm to my forehead and honestly it was the best idea ever.
- These memories are so strange. – I tried to shook my head but I failed but when he wanted to move his fingers from my forehead I inmediatly took his wrist. - „I’m quite jealous Miss Y/N. What about me?” – I remembered one of his comments below Lizzie’s picture of me and I said it out loud. Or at least I thought I remembered it but after all I woke up in Miami… so everything could happened.
„Chill out dear Stan…. you are my next one, just get back from that vacation of yours” – he answered me and I knew that comment was real. I texted him this on Instagram, right in front of thousands of people.
- I really want to burry myself. – I fell back watching the ceiling. I will never drink again, I stated this for myself.
- But what happens if I don’t get back to the city from my vacation… because you come to my vacation first? – he asked me and I just wanted to forget that he is in only a towel like 2 inches away from me. My toughts were not sane. I was not sane. I was here…. from New York.
- I don’t think that my body or my soul can even understand this. – I said it while looking at his perfect ocean blue eyes. Like he was a real God on this Earth. And that fluffy wet hair of his… my gosh. It would be better if I just fell asleep right away.
- What if I tried to help you understand it? – his smell was so charming and I started to loose it. With his free hand he touched my bare thigh and the shiver what it caused was unexplicable. Slowly he started to pulling my skirt higher and higher.
- After all this… I think unnecessary to resist! – I started to laugh in awkwardness and surprising him and myself too I reached out to his neck and pulled him on top of me just to get his sweet lips on mine. And oh my god, his lips, his tongue made wonders with mine.
- I’m so sorry… - I said it when I broke the kiss needing some air.
- What… what are you sorry for? – he asked putting these words on my lips. He stayed there and I think he didn’t really want to move away.
- Maybe for the fact that I present myself for you the very first time like this… - and I really felt that I was getting all red under him. He just got out of the shower and I technically fell into his bed like a drunk teenager after a really long night.
- So you were thinking about our first time? – he leaned closer as he put his fingers on my hips firmly.
- What do you think?

What If
Dean x Reader
Dean's been in love with you for months. What will it take for him to admit how he feels?
Warnings: Perfect storm of angst, fluff, smut, and a happy ending. Includes a canon type hunting injury and Dean being adorable. WC: 6050 On AO3 Thanks to my awesome beta @andromytta
This is my first commission for @mrs-meghan-winchester based on the song What Ifs by Kane Brown. Thanks for trusting me with this, I hope you love it :)
From Dean’s POV
I don’t know when it started.
It wasn’t right away. I mean, when we first met I thought you were really freakin’ hot- all soft skin, and pink lips, and curves in every place I wanted to hold onto. Sam had to smack me so I’d stop staring and that’s when I heard you laugh for the first time. You hadn’t even said a word to me yet and that laugh- fuck, yeah maybe that was it.
Our first hunt together six months ago, the one where you killed the wendigo just moments before it turned Sam and me into Sunday dinner, yeah then I was impressed. You were so pretty but the strength you had to kill the monster all the while getting back up to rescue our dumb asses was just so awesome.
That may have been it. Beauty plus strength plus the laugh. Yeah, that’d do it.
But here we were on another hunt in another small town- northern Colorado this time- and laughing with you made everything worthwhile. Even if I was terrified of losing you.
The diner was noisy for a Wednesday at four-thirty but there was fresh coffee and promise for a good dinner. Sam buried his face in his plastic menu as you burst out laughing again. Sometimes he got kinda sick of us when we were goofing around and laughing. Tough shit.
“You’re ridiculous, Dean,” you giggled, swatting my hand away from the little plastic bin of sugar packets. “And no sugar for you.”
“Alright, you wanna give me some sugar then?” I nudged you, grinning as you laughed even harder. It wasn’t that funny. But sometimes we got in these moods and I could make you laugh for hours. I loved the way your nose would crinkle up at the bridge and tears would spark right at the edge of your lashes as you gasped for air.
Sam smiled sympathetically at the waitress as she came over. “You ready to order?”
“Yeah, I’ll have the greek salad with chicken,” Sam responded, handing her his menu.
I bit my lip as you stifled your laugh. The older woman raised her eyebrows and waited for you.
“Oh ummm, a cheeseburger. With sweet potato fries please.”
I smiled at the waitress. “Same for me please, darlin’. Normal fries though.”
You waited until she walked away before elbowing me. “Flirt.”
“Whatever, she was like sixty.” I scoffed. “Why? You jealous?”
Another exasperated sigh from my brother before I paid him attention. “Sam, your eyes are gonna get stuck in the back of your head if you keep rollin’ them like that.”
Sam ignored me. “Can we please talk about the plan?”
With mention of the hunt, all joking was over for you. There was nothing in the world more serious to you than killing monsters.”Okay, we know which house they’re squatting in. I was able to get a glimpse from the neighbor’s backyard today.”
You pulled a hand drawn sketch out of your jacket pocket and traced a path across the paper with your pointer finger. “We can go through the fence right here, and then they’ll be boxed in. Dean and I can take the back, and Sam you flush them out from the front door.”
Sam nodded, looking over your outline. “Looks like a good plan to me.”
You looked over at me with a small smile expecting my approval. I slung my arm over your shoulders.
“What’d we do without ya, sweetheart?”
You grinned as you folded up the map, sliding it in your pocket before looking up at me. “Dean, at this point you could never live without me.”
Shit. For a second I looked down at your lips, like I had a hundred times, memorizing your mouth all over again. A hundred times I almost leaned all the way in, almost pressed my lips against yours, almost kissed you like you deserved.
But we were in a twenty-four hour diner, with my grouchy brother across the table and the lady waitress refilling our coffee. I cleared my throat and looked away, ignoring the slump in your shoulders as I brought my arm back to my side.
“So, we got a plan. Good.”
There had been six months of that. Six months of lingering hugs and missed kisses and lying to myself, lying to you. I was a fucking coward. I was just so afraid of losing you. What if it all went to shit, and it always did- apocalypse or hell or knife to the chest- what if we found ourselves missing each other when it would’ve been easier if it’d just never been? That’s why I never told you.
We finished up dinner over small talk, and at nightfall we drove out to the house where the monsters were holed up.
“Dumbass werewolves.” I shook my head. Assholes were snatching people walking home from night services at the church down the block. Typical.
I shut off the ignition as I parked the Impala down the block. Turning in my seat, I expected your grin, amped up and ready to kick some ass. But you were looking out the window, your brow scrunched up like you were worrying about something.
“Hey sweetheart, you okay?” I reached over the seat and put my hand on your knee.
Sam’s eyes widened and like an idiot he cleared his throat awkwardly and flung open the door of the car. “I’m gonna get our stuff ready.” Note to self to beat whatever that was out of him later.
Your eyes were soft when you turned to me, something serious churning in your beautiful head. I gulped as your fingers tightened over mine. “Dean, I…”
For a moment, I thought you were going to say what I was absolutely terrified of but was dying inside for. Instead you lied.
“Everything is fine. I’m just not feeling like myself.” You smiled, shaking your head with a little dismissive laugh at yourself, and dropped my hand before reaching for the door handle. “Come on, let’s go kill these sons of bitches.”
It was an awesome fight and you were as amazing as always. First hopping the fence so quick while my old ass lumbered over it like some old age cripple, then barreling into the den and taking out two on your own. You were such a badass. Sometime I wished I could just watch you. Your arms were so graceful as you put all of your momentum into each hit and stab. Strong and beautiful. The monster didn’t even know what hit him as your knife got him perfectly between the shoulderblades.
“That was awesome!” You cheered as we got back to the car. I was glad to see the worry from earlier was gone.
“Hell yeah.” I chuckled. “You were awesome.”
We were both smiling as we cleaned the blood from our knives. Besides some bruises and a small cut on Sam’s cheek, we’d come out of the fight pretty good.
“Look out!” You hollered as you threw a bloody towel at my head. Good, you were laughing again.
I evaded it by inches, laughing as I chased you around the car. “C’mere sweetheart!”
I captured you, my fingers grabbing your waist and corralling you against the side of the car. Your giggles were coupled with these cute little gasps as you fake tried to squirm away from me until you settled against me with wide eyes. Whoa, your face was so close, just inches from mine. You took in this shaky breath and I realized I wasn’t breathing. Moments passed as my eyes memorized every inch of your mouth again, my tongue licking across my own lips unconsciously in preparation. I leaned in and when your eyes met mine I felt like I was going to pass out. Shit, this is it.
“Guys?” Sam yelled from the other side of the house. “Dean?”
“Damnit.” I groaned, rolling away from you.
“Hey, there you are.” Sam walked around the corner from the dark yard. He took in the sight of us, our backs braced against the side of the car and raised his eyebrows. “You guys good?”
“Good!” You announced and shuffled past me. “It’s all good.”
Once you couldn't hear me I glared at Sam.
“Dude!” I growled at Sam. “You dumbass! I was gonna finally kiss her!”
Sam laughed. “About damn time.”
I pulled three beers out of the cooler, tossing cans to you and Sam in celebration. You smiled and leaned against Baby and took a sip, and I nodded at my two girls safe and sound. Hunching down, I started repacking the trunk. Maybe I could talk to you about how I was feeling, maybe it was time. Maybe we had a chance despite all this hell.
Fuck you, Winchester.
I didn’t see any of it until it was too late. Just heard the sounds- the growl, your scream, the thump of your body smacking against the side of the car, and Sam’s yell as he pulled the rogue werewolf off of you and stabbed it in the chest.
Like those damn dramatic movie sequences, my reality slowed down. Seriously not as cool in real life.
I lurched around the car and fell to my knees, pulling you into my arms. Your cries sputtered into these sad whimpers, and then you were half conscious, not responding to me as I shouted your name. As I tried to hold you closer my hand met blood and I started to panic.
“Sam! Door!”
“Oh god.” Sam gasped as he looked down at your bloody torso. He wrenched the backdoor open and helped me slide in, your body bleeding out in my arms.
“No, no. You’re gonna be okay. Stay awake, sweetheart.” I instructed as you fought unconsciousness, your eyes bleary as they met mine before rolling back in your head agan. I held you tight as Sam started the Impala, tires squealing as we left the dead wolves behind. You made this half gurgle, half whimper noise and I felt the tears spring into my eyes. No. NO.
“You’re okay, sweetheart, you’re okay.” I repeated over and over, holding you as tight as I could. “We’re almost there.”
My shirt was warm and wet as I held you against my chest, and I knew you were losing too much blood. “Faster, Sam! I’m gonna lose her.” Your pulse was slowing and my arms starting shaking from panic and adrenaline. This is bad.
“You’re okay, sweetheart, you’re okay.” I repeated over and over. You had to be.
Sam probably set a world record for driving through that damn town so fast, but it was all too long for me. As soon as the Emergency Room attendant saw all the blood they pried you from my arms and lifted you onto a gurney. A security guard pushed us back as we tried to follow. The glass doors closed and we saw a nurse climbed up the side of the rolling gurney. I choked back a sob as I saw them start to perform chest compressions as they moved you down the hall.
I don’t know how long we were there. Seven hours? I convinced them that I was your husband and Sam was your brother, using all of our Smith aliases as proof. That at least kept us in the loop. They’d resuscitated you, miraculously finding you had no major organ damage. At some point Sam went and got me a clean pair of jeans and shirt as your blood had started to crust on my clothes.
“Here’s coffee.”
I took the styrofoam cup from Sam. He settled down next to me on the vinyl couch, clearing his throat as he sat back.
“Sam, question.”
“Shoot.”
“When we got to the house, do you know why she was worrying?” I kept my eyes on the sliding glass doors, willing the doctor to return with good news. “I thought she was gonna cry and then you jumped out of the car.”
“Uhhh…” Sam paused. “She ummmm...she was going to talk to you about you two. How you guys feel.”
I looked over at him in surprise. “What?”
“Yeah, she asked me for advice yesterday. She said that she wanted to talk to you but didn’t know if she should.”
I scoffed as I shook my head. “Well of course she should.”
Sam didn’t reply and I didn’t know what to say next. If you, when you woke up, then I wanted to hear from you, not from my brother.
“Mister Smith?” I jumped to my feet as the doctor came out, Sam right behind me.
“Your wife is stable. We were able to stop the bleeding. It’s a miracle she didn’t have any internal damage but we did have to do some minor surgery, so she has quite a few stitches. Honestly I don’t understand how she didn’t have organ damage, I’ve never seen anyone survive a cougar attack like that.”
“Yeah, it was bad. But she’s okay though?” Well the cougar thing was a lie but as long as you were okay.
“She’s alive. She’s very strong, a real fighter,” The doctor smiled. “She’s sedated but you’re welcome to come see her if you’d like. It’ll probably be a couple hours before she wakes up.”
Sam and I followed close behind as he led us to your room.
“Oh god.” I muttered as the doc slid open the glass door to your little cubicle, revealing you unconscious and pale on the pale blue hospital sheets. The doc left us alone with strict instructions not to wake you.
“Jesus christ, baby.” I stepped up to the bed and took your hand, lifting it carefully. It was cold and I covered it with both of mine, bringing it up to my lips. “I’m so fucking sorry.”
Sam went to the other side and took your other hand, squeezing it softly as he avoided the wires on that arm. “Hey. Dean and I are here. We’re not leaving you, so just get better...Oh, and I killed the last werewolf.”
I looked up and glared at him. “Really?”
“What?” He shrugged. “You know that’s the first thing she’d be asking us right now.”
I shook my head to dismiss him. For a few minutes we stood there, staring down at you like you’d wake up and say, Nevermind asshats, I’m fine!
“You okay here for awhile?” Sam asked after a few minutes as he set your wrist on the bed next to your hip. “I’ll give you guys some time.”
I nodded. As he reached the door I stopped him. “What if I screwed up, Sam? What if...I lost all that time with her…”
Sam set his hand on my shoulder and smiled as he looked down at you lying in the hospital bed. He was far too calm. “It’s not too late, Dean. She’s alive. You can still tell her.”
I nodded, swallowing as my throat threatening to close up. I pulled a chair up next to the bed and sat down, taking a deep breath as tears slowly fell down my face now that we were alone.
“Fuck.” I cried, my forehead resting on our joined hands as all the stress and worry came pouring out. “I’m so sorry this happened.”
I should’ve told you before but I didn’t have words. Here I’d been in love with you- fucking head over heels absolutely terrified completely in love with you- and I missed my shot. I let you think you weren’t anything when you were everything.
“Sweetheart,” I started. “I’m gonna keep saying I’m sorry cuz I am. I know you wouldn’t want to hear it a bunch of times but get used to it.” I smiled, watching your face for a smirk and a roll of your eyes.
“Sam...I...Sam told me months ago that I should tell you how I feel. And I didn’t cuz, well you know our lives. What if I messed this up? What if we fell for each other, and then we lost each other? What if it all went bad like it always does?”
I paused, wishing you would wake up. I had to whisper around the lump in my throat. “What if you are the best thing to ever happen to me and I never told you that I love you?”
You didn’t respond so I took a few deep breaths. “Fuck, I’m such a mess.”
My thumb moved over the smooth skin on the top of your hand and I listened to the beeps of your heart monitor. It must’ve been fifteen minutes before I spoke again.
“The first time I heard you laugh, it felt like my world opened up. My life is always these black nights and fucking monsters and blood and gore. But you, you being with us, even as just my friend, you’ve made my life liveable. Your laugh…” I smiled and looked up. You eyelids were fluttering and your breathing was steadier.
“Sweetheart, can you hear me?” I stood up, holding your hand between mine as I looked at your face. After no response I continued. “I...I should've told you so long ago how I felt. Remember that time in Oregon? How we played pool for hours and then all the whiskey shots and you were dancing all around...God, I wanted you so bad that night. Or after the vamp fight in Missouri? When you caught me changing clothes half naked and well, it should’ve been awkward but it wasn’t and I really really wanted you to stay.”
You didn’t respond but I kept talking, telling you every time I regretted missing my chance. “Oklahoma City, when we were sitting on Baby’s hood and drinkin’ beers out in that wheat field. I thought you scooted closer to me on purpose. I should’ve kissed you cuz that sunset was perfect.”
I took another deep breath, running my fingertip along the small pale scar on your jaw that you got from a pissed off spirit. “All those nights in the bunker, with your long sweaters and your short shorts…twice I actually went to your room at night. Twice I almost knocked. You walking around all naked legs just drives me crazy, sweetheart.”
Your lashes were still wiggling, so I continue my confessions. “When you fell asleep in the library, Sam was gonna wake you to tell you to go to bed but I told him no. I wanted to have an excuse to carry you. To hold you against me like that. I remember your arms tightened around my neck and you said Dean all soft and sweet. It took all my self control not to climb into bed and just hold you all night.”
“Oh, the roller skate rink in Wisconsin! When you were undercover, skating around and showin’ off and you bit it and scratched up your knee,” I started laughing. “You were embarrassed and played it off tough, but you pouted a little when I was helping you clean up your knee. And well, it was adorable.”
“Hunting, of course you’re a fucking ninja. You just amaze me. I’m not lying when I say that besides Sam and I, you’re the best there is. I mean, who else could do some kind of crazy yoga twist bullshit and take two vamps heads at once? Only my girl.” I smiled and looked down at the bed.
“When you’d talk about your parents dying, or when you’d comfort the families of people we couldn’t save…” I nodded. “You use your grief for good. Which is a weird way to compliment someone I guess. Except I know how hard it is to deal with all of that, so it’s good that you don’t keep it inside like I do. I admire that.”
I slumped back down into the chair, my own exhaustion creeping up on me. “The little things, like you always remember the pie, and you’re careful not to scuff up the car. You help Sam with stuff, like you always remember the right kind of coffee he wants and his damn rabbit food. You keep us sane. When we’re home and I hear you laugh all the way down the hallways...it’s like...it’s like I miss you when we’re in different rooms.”
“Baby, I just...all this time...what if I was made for you and you were made for me? Fuck that might sound cheesy, but what if this is it? Like we should’ve been together all along?”
Fluttering eyelids continued to be my only response so I scooted the chair forward and rested my arm on the bed, setting my head down but still gripping your hand tight. I found the heartbeat in your wrist, and just focused on you still being alive as my eyes closed.
I woke to fingers softly running through my hair. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was as I opened my eyes. You’d sat up partially, one hand resting on the back on my scalp while your other hand was still tight in mine.
“You’re awake?” I sat up straight, grimacing as the quick motion tweaked a crick in my neck. “Ow. How long have you been awake?”
“A few minutes.” You said quietly. “Are you okay?”
“Me? I’m fine! How are you?” I leapt to my feet. “Lemme get the nurse.”
“Dean, it’s okay,” You gripped my hand. “I’m alright.”
“Really?” I took a chance and brushed your hair away from you face. “Werewolf got ya.”
My breath caught in my throat when your cheek moved into my hand. “But you saved me though.”
“Guess it was my turn.” I grinned.
You smiled and nodded, before looking down at your lap.
“What?” Please talk to me.
“Dean, I...yesterday I wanted to tell you how I felt and then I thought we could talk after and then the damn werewolf and now this…” You looked around the hospital room before looking up at me. “I thought that I’d have time and then I didn’t and I just kept thinking what if…”
You were too cute when you were babbling. Words weren’t enough now.
You made this cute little sigh as my lips pressed against yours, a hand reaching out for my collar to pull me closer. I put everything into that kiss. Every word I’d never said, every touch I’d kept to myself, every other kiss I’d dreamt about. Your lips moved against mine, soft and warm, letting me lead you slow until I pulled away for a moment. Your eyes looked into mine, and I smiled.
“What if that’s our last first kiss?”
You smiled and little tears of happiness flooded your eyes as you nodded. I wrapped my arms around you and pulled you tight against me so I could kiss you like I’d always wanted to. Apparently I liked chick flick moments after all.
You were smiling as we parted.
“What?” I asked.
“Thank you.”
I smiled and kissed you again before standing up straight. “I’ll see if we can get the doc in here so I can take you home.”
I was halfway out the door when you called out to me.
“Dean, tell Sam I say thanks. Oh, and one other thing…”
I rested my hand on the doorway and waited with a smile.
“I wasn’t pouting at the roller rink in Wisconsin, it was just really strong disinfectant.”
I nodded, chuckling as I turned away.
“Wait.” I took a few steps backward to see you giggling. “Were you awake that whole time?”
“No, in and out.” You smiled, resting your head back on the pillow. “But it was the best dream I’ve ever had.”
I stepped back into the room to kiss you again, this time your hands resting on my face. “You’re gonna turn me into a sap.”
“Ha! Too late!”
I left the room with the biggest smile on my face, ready to find the doc and get you home.
Four days later we rolled into the bunker’s garage. I wanted to take it easy getting back even though you said you were fine curled up in the backset, wrapped in the blankets we took from the motel. You needed time to heal. And I’d waited this long for you, I’d wait as long as it took before you were finally mine.
Sam and I went on only one hunt in the next three weeks. I wanted to be home if you needed me. I knew you were going stir crazy being in the bunker but there was no way in hell you were going hunting until six weeks had passed, doc’s orders.
The letters on the webpage in front of me had started to swarm and I sat back from the table. Sam was on a case with Jody, and I’d agreed to do some research for them since I insisted on staying home with you. Yeah, you were almost better. But I also didn’t want to be away from you.
“Hey.” You smiled as you walked into the library. I groaned inwardly at the sight of your gorgeous legs in those short shorts. My mind immediately went to my fantasy of those strong thighs around my ears until I realized I was staring.
“Hey sweetheart.” I shut my laptop and smiled. “What’s up?”
You sat on the edge of the table next to me and took my outstretched hand with a smile.
“Ummm...okay. So Dean, I…” You finally met my eyes and I realized it wasn’t all nerves. “We’ve been home for weeks and I know you’ve been letting me heal. But all you’ve done is kiss me the whole time and I…”
My shoulders slumped as I realized I’d disappointed you. Here I confess my love and then you think I don’t want you? Nuh uh, baby, never farther from the truth.
“I just wanted you to heal before I made a move.” I confirmed, pulling you closer to me. “Trust me, I very much still want you. So much.”
You bit your lip and I groaned audibly this time as you looked down at me with those beautiful eyes, dark with decision and desire. You paused before those soft naked legs straddled my thighs. I set my hands on your waist and kissed your neck a few times, reveling in your short little tugs on the hair at the back of my head.
“Are you sure?” I asked. Suddenly I realized that yes, I was worried about hurting you but I was also a little bit scared. This was it. And fuck, it was gonna be amazing.
“More than anything.” You nodded, your eyes bright and clear as they looked into mine. “I want you, Dean.”
Oh god yes. I pulled you tight against my chest as I kissed you, aggressive and thorough like I’d been dying for. Yeah we’d been making out since the hospital but I’d held back. Nope, no more of that.
I groaned as you rocked your hips forward, my dick growing harder with each gasp you made against my lips. I nuzzled my head into your hair, smelling your shampoo, and sweat, and the intoxication that was quite possibly going to kill me. Your lips moving down my neck made little kissing and sucking noises and I grew impatient with the sweater in my way.
“Too many clothes,” I grumbled, prompting you to giggle as you leaned back and pulled the sweater over your head.
“Fuck, you’re beautiful.” I said in awe as I moved my hands up your ribcage and over your bare breasts. You moaned as my palms covered your nipples and I looked up in amazement. I needed to hear that sound again. And then again and again, as much as possible.
“You’re wearing too many clothes too.” You frowned in the most adorable way. My hands left your body to pull my black t-shirt over my head. I chuckled and lifted you up onto the table, pulling the little short shorts down so you were bare.
My lips met yours again as your naked hips pushed up against mine. I had you naked. Finally. Fuck, if we were gonna do this, I was gonna do it right.
You gasped as I settled you on your back, my lips and fingers discovering your skin as I moved down. I quickly learned which combination of suck and bite on your nipples got you to make that beautiful moan again.
“Dean.” You moaned, and damn that made my cock so hard. Thank god for the acoustics in the Letters library cuz I loved that noise in surround sound.
“You’re so soft, baby.” I earned a few more moans before I kissed down your stomach, smiling when light kisses to your ribs made you giggle. I kissed the tender pink scars across your skin, squeezing your hip when you tensed up. “Just relax.”
You hummed in agreement and closed your eyes, your legs parting so I could lean down between them. I kissed your knees, getting another little giggle. Sighs of satisfaction as I kissed your inner thighs, taking my time to get to the good part. Your eyes were open when I looked up.
“You’re so beautiful.” I said before tentatively licking your folds. Slowly I moved my tongue, learning what twist of my tongue or suck of my lips got reactions. Each of your moans got louder as my tongue got more aggressive, and I pulled your hips forward. This was finally happening and I was going to rock your world.
“Oh fuck!” You cursed, your hands grabbing the edge of the table. “Dean, yesssss!”
I found just the right rhythm as my fingers joined my tongue, and I groaned as I appreciated your body, your back arching over the wood as my lips went back to sucking your clit. I smiled as your gasps turned to long drawn out moans. Seeing you like this, right on the cusp on orgasm, right where I had always wanted you for me- well, you looked a million times better than I ever imagined.
“Come on, sweetheart.” I encouraged, my tongue circling your clit as you reached that edge. I could feel you clenching around my fingers and I groaned. “Fuck, you’re amazing.”
You gasped and grabbed the hair at the top of my head, and I moaned my approval as you steered me back in place. A minute later you were shaking on that table, an orgasm rushing through you, your pussy seemingly in love with me now as well.
“Holy shit!” You shouted as your hand came up to brush your hair out of you face.
I snickered and stood up, taking your hands to pull you up against me. You moaned as you tasted yourself on me, and we got momentarily distracted by deep kisses and lingering hands. You smiled and pulled away when I rutted up against your thigh. God, I needed to feel you.
“Your turn?” You smiled, moving your hands down my chest.
I grinned. “Baby, as much as I want that right now, I need something else more. Like now.”
You shrieked as I scooped you up, careful with your tender injury as I carried you down the hall to my bedroom. Your lips never left my neck as you spoiled me with kisses.
When we got to my room I set you carefully on the mattress. You watched with wide eyes as I pushed down my sweats.
“You’re looking at me like I’m fresh meat.” I laughed, setting my knees on the bed and crawling over you.
You laughed and nodded before this breathless sex goddess voice replied, “Well, I am hungry.”
Neither of us could keep our composure after a few seconds and we both burst out laughing, the joyful sounds ending as our deep kisses returned. Damn. Just damn.
“How did I get so lucky that you’re mine?’ I whispered as I kissed down your neck.
Your fingers curled around the back of my neck and you took a deep breath. “Maybe I was made for you and you were made for me.”
I looked up at your face then, seeing all the love, the words, the moments, and the need we’d been holding onto for all that time.
“I love you. Like more than even makes sense to me, sweetheart.”
You nodded and smiled. “I love you too, Dean. Much more than I can say.”
I always thought it was super cheesy when in the movies or TV people would say that ‘oh, they made love.’ That was always kinda dumb to me. Until that night.
I thought I was going to cry as I slid deep inside of you, both of us groaning for a moment as we just felt each other. Fuck it was too beautiful. That want that had building up for so long was overwhelming. I held you tight against me as I pulled almost all the way out, both of us groaning louder as I pushed back into your warm, strong heat again. I could feel you clenching around me on the third thrust and I gasped, my mind an endless stream of ohfuckthisisgoodohfuckgodbabyyes as your hips raised up to meet mine.
I met your eyes as I felt you start to lose it, your nails digging in my shoulders. Kisses faltered to just lips on skin, and whispers of I love you. My hip twitched randomly and I felt my body giving way for you, like it’d follow you anywhere you wanted.
“Dean!” You cried out and I watched your face in awe as the orgasm erupted inside you. You’d never been more beautiful to me. Your moans reached something deep in me and I groaned, thrusting into you harder and harder until I came, white stars in front of my eyes as my body trembled over yours. I heard you gasp, groan my name and I muttered, “Oh god, yes yes baby, yes,” as I finished.
I have no idea how long I was laying on top of you, all hormone drunk and jello limbs. My lips found yours and I thanked you, a long kiss saying everything I should've before. Now you knew. And you loved me too.
I rolled you with me as I settled my back on the mattress, not wanting you farther away from me if I couldn’t be inside you for the time being. I listened to your breathing calm as I played with a strand of your hair. Closing my eyes, I smiled as your fingers meandered across my chest, resting over my heart.
“Dean?’
“Yeah sweetheart?”
“What now?”
I smiled and kissed your nose, looking into those eyes now bright with hope for our future.
“Now we do our thing. Be together. Hunt. Have amazing sex.”
You responded with a giggle and an affirmative “Hell yeah.”
I took a deep breath and paused for a moment, before tightening my grip on your arm.
“And maybe, well maybe one of these days I'll go and change your name.”
You pushed yourself up onto your elbows, looking down at me with a grin before bursting out laughing. “Oh my god, you are such a sap.”
“What? Don’t you wanna be a Winchester?” I teased. There was that perfect laugh in response.
“I want to be yours.” You smiled, leaning down and pressing your lips to mine.
“Well good thing that you already are.” I replied softly.
I gazed at the bunker ceiling as you settled against my chest with a happy sigh. There wasn’t any question. You were everything. My laughter, my ninja, my strength. And now we both knew this was it and that we were meant to be.
I chuckled as I thought about what an idiot I’d been.
“What?”
“Nothing. I was just thinking, what if it all worked out after all.”
The room was quiet for a minute before you spoke.
“You’re so mushy, Winchester.”
“Oh that’s it!” My fingers went for your good side, your giggles music to my ears. We spent the rest of the evening in bed laughing, kissing, and making up for lost time.

Second Time’s a Charm? pt II
(pt i) (pt iii) (pt iv)
"Mare?" Gisa asks softly. "I'm sorry, I never--"
"No, no, it's not that Gee, I just..." I trail off. "I don't think I want to go the dance," I say in a small voice. "I'm just so tired and I have this headache--"
"Stop," Gisa says firmly but not unkindly. "Don't you think I can tell when you're lying?" She takes my hand and leads me to my bed. We both sink down into my mattress with our combined weight and I make a mental note to save up some money for a new one.
"Tell me what's really going on, please?"
So I do.
She listened patiently, even when I tell her about sleeping with Will. I hesitated on that but she had nodded her head, indicating for me to continue. When I had finished I felt as if a crushing weight had been lifted from my chest. I'd kept this to myself for so long and telling someone was a relief.
She wraps her arms around me and I bury my face into her shoulder. I wrinkle my nose at the brush of her hair against it and pull back.
"He hates me right?" I ask her, already knowing the answer. She chews on her lip as she thinks. "Hate is such a strong word. He's hurt and confused. I mean, you have been messing around on him."
"So what should I do?"
"Tell the truth," she says like it's the simplest thing in the world. I let out a snort. "Are you joking? Ha ha, that's funny Gee."
She gives me a serious look. "No, I'm not joking. Tell him the truth, he deserves an explanation and you don't deserve to have to hold this in all the time. If he cares about you then he'll see past it. I mean, we all make mistakes and it's not like you were seriously dating," she shrugs.
I can't believe I'm actually considering this. Why am I considering this? Would he still be angry and me, or even worse? Would he actually forgive me? Or would he storms out of the caf all dramatic-like? I used to tease him about his fondness for theatrics.
I jump when Gisa taps my shoulder. "The dance starts at six and it's five o'clock now. You should make up your mind quickly cause I need to know if I'm gonna do your hair or not."
I glance at the clock, steeling myself for the possible consequences of my choice. But it had been made and there was no turning back now.
***
Instead of curling it like Gisa wanted to I made her straighten it. She thought high school dances were a big thing and that everyone looked like they came out of a Teen Vogue magazine. In actuality it was a bunch of smelly kids in a confined space with too-loud music and drugs being passed around.
If it were up to me, I wouldn't be wearing a costume at all, but Shade had always been insistent on it. He was going to the dance as well, trying to get the most out of his senior year. I would be seeing his girlfriend tonight as she was coming with us. Instead of convincing me to act as proper as possible, he told me that she used to pull shit like that too. And that she would be absolutely delighted to wreck havoc. I mean, what else did I expect from this girl my prankster of a brother to have? He went on to tell me how last Halloween when he stayed over in her dorm room, her roommate helped her pull a little trick. Her roommate was supposedly "out" while they watched a horror movie together. Diana did this knowing full well that Shade was terrified of those but too proud to admit it. When they went to sleep, her roomate had attached strings to a doll that resembled Annabelle. She played some "low chilling music," as Shade put it and some audio of a creepy child.
So that was the story of how Diana now has a recording of Shade screaming at 3 a.m after waking up to a "possessed" doll. To top it all off, there's also some footage of him running out into the hallway in his underwear. That of course resulted in some confused and angry university students. It's no surprise that I asked her to send it to me. Hello blackmail.
Shade had wanted me to be a bear again because of his oh-so-clever nickname, "Mare Bear." But I declined and instead chose a female Zeus. I thought that being able to fry anyone that bothered you and being King of the Heavens would be awesome. The fact that I had a beautiful costume didn't hurt either, though it was kinda cheap. It was a white pleated dress (courtesy of my mom) with a thick plastic "gold" belt and a circlet of leaves as a crown. I added some bracelets and necklace as well, taken from Gisa's collection.
It was an odd mismatch of clothing but I didn't mind. The sound of a door slamming has me running out into the hallway to find Shade there. His debate meeting must've ended early. The question must be apparent because he shrugs. "They needed the school to be clear to set up the decorations. Plus everyone wanted to get home early." He tosses his jacket on the bench near the coat rack knowing full well mom hates when he does that. Shade looks me up and down while stroking his chin. He frowns at the dress. "What?" I sigh. "Did you expect me to dress up as an animal again? You can't trick me again this time."
"I was hoping."
"Are you and Diana doing a couples costume?" Please say no, please say no. I wouldn't be able to take that level of cringe.
He looks at me strangely and I raise a brow. "What did I say?"
He clears his throat looking very much uncomfortable. "You know she hates it when we call her by her first name," Shade murmurs.
I make a sound of agreement. I'd forgotten that. And her last name. But Shade being two steps ahead of everyone answers, "it's Farley, and thanks for being such a good sister and remembering basic facts about my girlfriend."
I roll my eyes. "Why does she hate her first name anyway? Traumatic childhood nicknames?"
Shade doesn't laugh like I expect him to. Instead he darkens and my smile falls. "Shade?"
He shuffles his foot on the floor and I watch as he chooses what to say. "It's not my place to say why," he says carefully. "Just please don't call her that."
My mind spins with questions that I know will remain unanswered. I nod anyways. He places a hand on my arm. "Relax, no need to be so somber," he says cheerfully. Despite the tone I can sense the sadness beneath. Typical Shade, he was very much like Kilorn in the sense that they both never wished to linger on the dark moments or memories. I decide to humour him and drop it. For now of course.
"So, couples costumes. Yes or no? For the love of god, please say no."
He flicks my nose. "Too bad cause it's happening." I groan. If they were gonna be all lovey and mushy I was so out. "How the hell did you rope her into this anyway? I thought she was pretty uptight."
Shade shrugs. "You should bother to spend more time with her."
"I already have."
"You've seen her like three times."
"Yeah, whatever." Truth be told, I didn't mind seeing Dian--Farley again. She seemed cool though a little uptight. But Shade was smitten with her so making an effort wouldn't be the worst. "What's the unfortunate duo you've chosen to replicate?"
"Steve Trevor and Princess Diana from-"
"I know what movie they're from," I cut in. How could I not? Real classy of them though. It was a little funny how she would be an Amazon warrior and I would be her supposed creator. Was that weird? Probably.
"She chose it, obviously, but I'm not mad. I get to be a handsome spy so I'm glad I got an easy costume," he replies flashing a smile which I assume is the very one that got Farley interested. I bat his face, pushing him away. We both laugh and the sound draws Gisa out from our room.
"Can you guys hurry up? Have you even looked at the time for goodness sakes?" she sighs with exasperation. With her hand on her hips and the stern expression she looks so much like our mom. Without even realizing it Shade straightens up then scowls at himself for doing so. I however remain in my slouched position, the very one Gisa hated. She was all about posture.
I put my hands up in surrender. "Alright, mom. And for the record, it's not me, it's Shade who's gonna be late."
Gisa smirks at me. "Aw you really think that? There's no way mom was gonna let you take the bus there, not when it's this late. Shade's your ride so if he's late, so are you."
I look at Shade and he has to wits to scramble away before I can think to push him. "There's no time to make yourself to look pretty so hurry your ass up!"
"I was naturally born pretty so don't worry it won't take long!" he shouts in response. I blow out a long sigh disguising a chuckle. Gisa is less cautious and tries and fails to hide a smile behind her hand.
"Language, Mare," I hear my dad's gruff voice call out. My lips purse. "Sorry," I reply, though this time softer.
Shade joins us after a grand total of ten minutes. Before I can think to make a remark he speaks. "It was hard okay? These pants are tighter than they look," he grumbles. I scan his costume with a suppressed smile."Actually they look even worse," I laugh. My comment is returned with a scalding glare and I jump away from his shove and run ahead to the car.
He follows hot on my heels. "Does it look that bad?" he asks with a note of desperation in his voice. God, he was way too obsessed with his vanity. I'd never seen anything like it. I tug on the door handle. "Could you open the car? We're already late."
"Not until you tell me the truth."
"I did. The pants look weird but the rest is fine. Let's go now."
The doors open with a soft clicking sound and I swing in the front seat. Shade winces. "What?" I ask, doing my best to keep the annoyance from showing. He scratches his head awkwardly. "Um...could you sit in the back today?"
"Why.." I trail off. "Oh," I say in a small voice.
"Yeah...sorry."
I got in the backseat and was silent on the drive to what I assumed was Farley house. Or wherever she was staying.
***
So it definitely wasn't her house.
It was a hotel where I guess she was staying for the week, or as Shade told me. She was off for week from university and decided to visit. Her family lived in Churchill, Manitoba near Hudson Bay so she was pretty far from home. I wonder if she ever misses her home.
"A Canadian, eh?" I tease him. He cringes at that. "Please don't," he says at the same time Farley makes a low sound of annoyance. We both whirl around at the sound. And there she is, coming up from behind the car to the hood where Shade and I and been standing. "For your information, we are known to be very peaceful people. Except for when someone assumes the only two words in our vocabulary are 'aboot' and 'eh.' So unless you want to choke on a bottle of maple syrup in your sleep, I suggest you shut it," she says sweetly. I let out a laugh and so does she. "Good to see you again, Farley."
She shares a look with my brother and I can tell they're having their own silent conversation. "A pleasure to see you again as well, Mare," she replies after dragging her eyes away from Shade. I can't help but roll my eyes. Yeah I was so sure.
We all get in the car, Farley taking the front seat which assumed was hers when she and Shade were together. Too bad it was mine every other day.
The drive wasn't as long as I'd thought it would be. But still, I was late. I checked my phone for the time. 6:45, it read. I clenched my teeth to keep them from chattering and to refrain from cursing. I'd already texted Maven after finding a bunch of missed calls and texts that got increasingly more panicked. Because of the delay we wouldn't be able to go over everything and I wouldn't be able to check if everything would work. It would be a hit or miss now.
Thankfully we pull up in the school parking lot. Unfortunately it's full. I let out a long sigh. My fingers uncurl from my dress after I used them to keep from digging them into my palms. The scars were beginning to fade and I didn't feel like undoing all that.
Shade senses my unease. "How about I find a parking spot and meet up with you guys later?" Farley opens her mouth to interject but he insists. "Seriously, it's fine. It'll take me a few minutes."
I don't question him. Instead I offer my arm to Farley. "Not the Barrow you wanted to walk in with tonight, huh?" I grin once we start walking. Shade drives off behind us. Farley takes my arm. "A shame," she sighs.
We enter the main foyer to be greeted by Evangeline Samos and her girlfriend, Elane Haven. They were both on student council, or rather should I say the president and vice president of the school. They made sure to point that out at least three times a day. Evangeline and Elane step forward to greet us. They wear smiles that somehow turn even harder when they turn on me. "Mare!" Evangeline exclaims. "How unfortunate it is to see you again."
I laugh coldly. To a passerby it could look friendly. "The feeling is mutual, Samos. Now do us a favour and move."
As I go to sidestep her she blocks me. Her pitch black gaze settles on Farley who is no longer smiling but giving her a glare that could kill. "You must be Shade's new plaything," Evangeline says. "I'm his ex, Evangeline Samos." Next to her, Elane shifts, visibly uncomfortable.
Ah there it was. The dreadful words. It was true, Evangeline and Shade and been a thing for a hot minute before she cheated on him with Elane. I assumed there had to be more to the story that Shade refused to tell me. The relationship had been purely physical I was sure, but some nights I would find Shade looking through their photos together. I knew he loved Farley now of course, but he'd told me he was upset because he knew Evangeline wasn't what she appeared to be. Or whatever that meant. The girl standing in front of me was grade A bitch.
Farley's hands tighten into fists. Suddenly I was nervous for Evangeline. I'd seen Farley throw a few punches before and the aftermath had not been pretty. Not to mention Evangeline wasn't someone to underestimate. I tug on her arm still linked in mine. "We're going now. Have a terrible day you two," I smile with false sweetness.
We storm past after throwing our entry tickets on the table. Up ahead are kids dressed in zombie costumes snapping a picture at a booth. We walk past them as we make our way to the music room where Maven, Thomas and Kilorn were waiting for us. The music room was Maven and Thomas's second home after the computer lab. Unfortunately that had been locked so this was the next best thing. Plus it was on the second floor unlike the lab.
Farley looks around to check for anyone following us, or a teacher coming to stop us. But the coast must be clear because she doesn't panic so neither do I. The music room comes into view but the door is closed. I peer inside but there's a black cloth covering the window. I knock quietly, three quick taps. There's a moment of silence before I hear the lock click. Even then it only opens enough for a sliver. I push it open. "Relax it's just me," I announce to the seemingly empty room. I hear collective sighs of relief. Kilorn and Thomas emerge from their hiding spots.
"Where's Maven?" I ask, looking around. "Oh yeah, he's with his brother, remember?" Thomas replies sounding confused. I curse softly. I'd forgotten about that. Cal was here right now. At least I could apologize and explain. Then we could go our separate ways. "Right, so when is he gonna show up?"
"Right now actually," Thomas says looking up from his phone. "He's on his way."
"Great." At least something was going right so far.
"Shade's on his way as well," Farley says. "No need to fill me in, Mare. Destruction is a specialty of mine," she smirks. I smile back. "Don't I know it," I murmur, remembering that particular incident.
Kilorn walks up to me for a hug but I slink away. "Sorry but you're sick, and I hate sick people," I tell him. He laughs but it dissolves into a fit of coughs. Immediately I become concerned. "Seriously, why didn't you stay home?"
"A question I find myself asking as well," a voice says behind me. I spin around to find Cal and Maven in the doorway. Cal stares anywhere but me. Whatever, he could be a petty pain in the ass if he wished.
"How did you open the door?" Thomas asks, directing his question at Maven. We all ignore the tension in the room. "It was partially open already. You guys forgot to lock it," Maven explains looking between me and Farley. "A mistake," I shrug.
"Anyone could've walked in," Cal points out. I exhale harshly through my nose before facing him. "Yes, but unfortunately it was just you. Now hurry, we don't have much time. Maven, he needs to go."
Maven stops his brother from a sure foul response with a look. Then he turns to me, pleadingly. "Please let him stay. He already promised not to say anything." I scoff at that. "Sorry, but his promises don't mean much to me."
"Oh yeah sure, I'm the one to blame for this," Cal snaps. I glare at him and he levels me with his own. "You are not supposed to be here," I tell him slowly, making sure to enunciate every word. Maybe this time he can get the message.
"Oh please," he scoffs. "You should be glad someone's here to participate in this kiddy prank of yours. Seriously Mare, I didn't expect you to orchastrate something this dumb"
The room went even quieter. Oh that was it. I was simultaneously ready to beat his ass and cry in frustration. Even Cal looks surprised at himself. The hurt must be showing because he steps closer, all anger replaced by regret. "Mare," he says softly reaching for my arm. I pull away.
"Maven is everything set?" I ask him. Maven looks at me, startled. His eyes dart between his brother and I. He nods once the fog clears from his mind. "Um, where's Shade?" he asks, looking around.
"Right here," I hear Shade say also by the door. I groan. "What the hell is with everyone and these dramatic entrances? If I'd known I would've made an effort."
Shade doesn't respond but rather glares harshly at Cal who has gone pale. Uh oh, he was in protective brother mode. "Where were you?" Kilorn asks with a smile that doesn't meet his eyes. "You left me in the middle of a soap opera and it's not even that good"
Farley is the one to get him to calm down. "Let's take a walk," she says, tugging on his arm. As they shuffle away I see Farley turn her head and mouth, 'be right back.' I think I might've spoken too early when I said everything was going fine.
"Okayyy," Thomas drags out. "Can we get started now? Maven and I want to get to the haunted house before it closes."
"That's a terribly romantic date," Kilorn says. "Nothing says 'I love you' like being trapped in a space with possible demonic spirits."
Maven rolls his eyes. "Don't tell me you actually believe in that stuff, Warren."
"Of course I don't," Kilorn scoffs. He was a terrible liar and Maven knew it judging by his amused expression.
I clap my hands together, shattering the moment.
"Okay, Maven, Thomas, you guys know what to do. After you get back, text me." They nod and Maven salutes. "Yes ma'am." Before he leaves he plants a kiss on my cheek. "For good luck," he explains. I give him one back. "Come on lovebirds any day now," Thomas calls out. He was used to this. We all knew it was purely platonic. Well everyone except Mr. Tiberias Calore the Seventh who looks away. He could think whatever he wanted. I didn't care.
"See you guys soon!" Maven shouts as they walk away.
Cal goes to follow them but I hold out a hand to stop him. I accidentally brush his chest and snatch it back as if burned. He pretends to ignore it. "Where do you think you're going?" I ask him, eyebrows raised. He has the sense to keep his mouth shut. "You agreed to my plan which means you follow my orders. If you don't like it then you can leave."
"Then it's a shame I'm not going anywhere," he replies evenly. The words ring with a double meaning.
"Shade and Farley are already together so you can go with-"
Kilorn doesn’t even look up from picking at his nails. "You better not say my name."
I inhale deeply. "Fine," I snap. "You're with me. Kilorn, it's time." He hops off the table and winks at me as he passes. Oh god he set me up. And I could already guess which little redhead he had his orders from.
Without warning I follow him and Cal scrambles to follow. He blessedly keeps quiet as we make our way to the caf. Or more specifically the door leading to the stage, except we only needed to get under it. We were responsible for providing an exit from the caf if we needed to avoid anyone in the room and get out quickly.
