Max's wheel to wheel comes from the same place that allowed him to do a opening lap some are comparing to Donington Park. He didnt do what he did yesterday despite his aggressiveness, he did it because of it, because he has complete control of the car and he is deliberate and confident in ways few racers have been, ever. He knows what hes doing and why hes doing it and what he needs to do to win or simply to survive a championship where his car lacks pace. Whether thats defending position on older tires for over 10 laps by closing the line in the limits of regulations or making zero mistakes in the wet while being the fastest man on track 17 times and overtaking an entire field, its the same mind, the same hands, the same talent, the same skill, the same driver, the same knowledge of how and where to put the car. If u dont like how he goes racing sometimes, thats fine, thats valid, but to question the skill behind it, to imply that he needs to change parts of it, maybe thats the opinion of someone who has no idea what it takes to do what he does, like. break Michaels record of most consecutive days as the championship leader, in a season where his team is third in constructors. And I was trying not to scream, because yes, of course I've heard of Neil, he's only my favorite author, I've only read like all of his books multiple times, and if you say you worked on Good Omens or the Sandman I'm going to lose it completely. So I said "yeah I've read a couple of his books," -you know, like a liar- "what about him?" and she goes "well I worked on one of his shows and he's brilliant i just can't remember which one" and i go "w-what do you mean he's brilliant? You're.. you're talking about his writing... his writing is brilliant, right?"
