An eventful birthday
Did he want to make love to you?
Tumblr media
Pairing : Young Severus Snape x Fem!Reader
Warnings : slight smut ; little bit of swearing ; caught during sex ; teasing in public
Wordcount : 3, 712 words
Request : Maraudeur era Severus x reader’s first time
I think I got a little too excited about this order so here is the resume. I did two different version with the same base “ severus and reader’s first time.”  Don't hesitate to tell me if you like it or not.
Resume : Severus and Reader have been together for a while but have never had sex. Reader is getting impatient and decides to invite her boyfriend to her house for the vacations. With Lucius' help, Severus takes the invitation as an implicit request for sex, so he spends the beginning of the vacation educating himself on the subject, until the big day. D-Day, which turns out to be Y/n's birthday... !
Severus waddled from one foot to the other, in front of the blue door of a small country house, wondering if he should enter or not.
That blue door was yours. You and Severus had been dating since the beginning of your sixth year at Hogwarts. You were the one who made the first move, asking him via owl if he would like to go out with you. To your surprise he agreed. In the early days, your relationship had been tedious, Severus having trouble showing you affection in public and even being unpleasant at times, but you knew him well enough to know that he didn't want to hurt you. He was just a little proud. It had to be said that the rumors that were circulating about you didn't help. Some said Severus had used dark magic to make you fall in love with him, others thought he was using you. In short, the rumors were far from reality, making Severus a despicable man when he was only afraid. Personally, you didn't care what people said or thought, but that wasn't entirely true of your boyfriend. So with all the patience you had, you managed to make him more comfortable, to make your relationship evolve so that it lasts. Taking all the necessary first steps, erasing his doubts one after the other. Yes, your sixth year had been an emotional one.
 And you were not at the end of your sorrows, already another obstacle was standing in your way. A few months before the end of the year, you had started sleeping with Severus, either in your dormitory or in his. Of course you only did this, out of respect for your respective roommates, but mostly because every time you tried to exchange more than a kiss with Severus, he found an excuse not to. This behavior had annoyed you a little and even hurt you but you didn't give up and ended up inviting him to spend the vacations at your place knowing that he would have no excuse and would have to explain what was bothering him.
Severus was surprised that you invited him so suddenly, he had been disturbed by your behavior for a few months. It must be said, he was not very good with women and had gone to his best friend, Lucius Malfoy, to ask his advice. He had described to him, the changes he had noticed in the way you dressed, the way you spoke to him, and all the weird phrases that just didn't make sense to his ears.
Lucius had laughed at his explanation, confiding that you wanted to have sex with him. Severus was taken aback.
"Don't look so surprised, my friend. You told me she'd had other boyfriends before you, right?” he nodded “So, it's only natural, your little Y/n wants you to fuck her. You want that too, don't you Sev?"
Severus thought for a moment. Did he want to make love to you? The answer had come to him naturally ; of course. You was the smartest girl he knew, you always understood him, you always seemed to know what to say to make him feel confident, he wanted to confide in you all his problems, to hold you until morning and he understood that now, he would love to see your naked body and feel your warmth against him. But he was not reassured by the idea of you seeing him naked, he was afraid of disappointing you. Lucius then set out to teach Severus what he called the basics of a good fuck. He took his role as a teacher so much to heart that he spent most of the night before the vacations making a book for Severus.
The book was read in one night. Although he wasn't sure if you would like most of the practices described in Lucius's manual, Severus was a little reassured to have a minimum of knowledge before taking action. He would never have thought that sex was a subject that required so much knowledge. Severus didn't have time to continue thinking as the door in front of him opened, revealing a jovial looking woman, whom he recognized as one of your mothers. Because yes, you had two mothers.
"Severus, my boy, come in! Y/n is in her room. You can join her if you like. We'll call you when the food is ready. Oh and you should take your suitcase up with you."
He didn't have time to put one in before your mother had already joined your other mother in the kitchen. Just starting to get used to so much kindness as he had been coming to your house as a friend for a while, he stammered a slightly embarrassed thank you before running upstairs to find you. You was sitting at your window reading,when he enter your room. When you heard him come in you looked up from your book and smiled at him with a smile that would warm the coldest heart.
You were about to stand up and greet him when to your surprise he came up to you faster than a flash of lightning and kissed you fiercely. You kissed back as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
"Severus" you breathed between kisses.
"Y/n" he replied as he pushed you towards your bed without breaking the kiss.
"Y/n, the boys have arrived, they are asking where they ca... Oh!"
Severus turned around and came face to face with Lily Evans leaning on Y/n's bedroom door. Her gaze darted back and forth between your two faces and the position she had found you in.
"I think... I better go ask your mothers," she disappeared down the stairs, closing the door behind her.
Severus stood up in a bit of a panic as you burst out laughing. He questioned you with his eyes as he thought you had gone mad.
"By Merlin, I've never seen you this enterprising and Lily had to come in.
"Repeating the facts doesn't make them any less dramatic, you know Y/n? What are we going to do now that she's seen us? And what is she doing here anyway?" he said with a frown.
"Well, just like you and pretty much my entire group of friends, she was invited home to celebrate my birthday." your smile lost a little of its luster as your boyfriend broke down before your eyes.
Your birthday. He had forgotten your birthday. Severus felt like the biggest idiot in the world as he stammered a "yes, of course" while trying to avoid your gaze. You could tell by his demeanor, but you didn't have time to get your head around it, as someone knocked on the door. A few seconds later, your other mother's purple head appeared in the doorway, letting you know that the meal was ready and that all the guests were there. You and Severus walked downstairs with your mother to the dining room, decorated with colorful lanterns and holiday streamers. Around the table chatting were your friends, Remus,Sirius, Lily, Dorcas, Mary, Arthur, Frank, James and Marlene. All of them came from different groups of friends but were willing to mix for you. Since only the ends of the table were left, you and Severus sat away from each other. But it was all right, your mind was still on the revelation he had made to you indirectly a few minutes earlier. James and Sirius spat at Severus, who didn't react, just sat at the other end of the table, staring at the plate in front of him. Severus' string of bizarre behaviors reinforced the idea that something was wrong.
Normally, Severus was one of the sweetest, most caring men you'd ever met, and because of his family history, he was so desperate for love and affection that he found it hard not to look at you, or give you compliments, awkward ones, but still compliments. But the last few weeks before the vacations, he had insisted on sleeping alone, and now he had forgotten your birthday, there was definitely something wrong. You did your best to focus on the moment and not think too much. This allowed you to have a nice meal, surrounded by the good mood of your friends and family. When the meal was over, the lanterns went out as your mom came into the dining room with a huge cake of your favorite flavor in her hands. All your friends began to sing around the table, wishing you a happy birthday. That was it. You were finally 17, you couldn't help but shed a tear or two after blowing out the candles. The cake was cut and served and then it was time for the gifts. One by one the gifts came to rest in front of you as you tore off the wrapping paper that wrapped them. You received a broom set, sweets and many other gifts that filled you with joy. Each of the guests pointed to themselves after you opened their gift for you to thank them.
"And you, Severus? Where is your gift for Y/n?" Mary asked innocently.
All eyes turned to Severus as his cheeks turned crimson. He felt terrible for forgetting your birthday and now he was paying the price. He was going to have to admit that he didn't have one in front of everyone. What kind of boyfriend could forget such an important day?
"I don't..." he began.
"Severus was giving it to me as soon as he arrived, he's still in my room," you answered to avoid an affront to your boyfriend.
For the first time all evening, Severus looked up at you with hopeful eyes. You'd had time to digest the news, and while you weren't mad at him yet, he had better have a good excuse. You knew your friends well enough to know that Sirius and James would have been happy to put Severus down again, so you didn't give them the chance. The rest of the evening was spent in a calm and good mood, the small group of teenagers having moved into the living room to play teenage games like Monopoly, truth or dare etc. Once your mothers were in bed, Severus slid in beside you on the couch and shyly took your hand. Your eyes met for a moment as he squeezed your hand gently. Despite the annoyance of his behavior, you melted a little at the look on his face. You smiled at him and then gently let him know that you too would need to have a chat later. He nodded and moved a little closer to you. With a smile, you turned your attention back to the game on the coffee table and slid Severus' hand over your butt. He gave you a panicked look but you were already paying no attention to him, or so it seemed, just pushing your buttocks to meet his palm. Severus took this as an invitation and pressed his hand to your bottom trying to remember what Lucius had taught him. As quietly as possible, Severus began to knead your buttocks, waiting for a favorable reaction. This created a fire inside you that made you close your eyes for a moment. Then remembering where you were, you opened them again and gently slid Severus' hands away from you. He thought he must have felt bad or that you didn't like it, but your buttocks came to rest on his legs and quickly changed his mind. His hands had only touched your buttocks through your dress, but that wasn't enough, you wanted more. You stuck to Severus by slipping in his ear a few words.
"Touch my breasts, please.
He nodded, not sure how he was going to please you on the one hand and not get caught on the other. He started by pulling down the zipper of your dress, just enough for him to get his hands under the loose fabric. A grunt escaped him, which was thankfully covered by Sirius's protesting cries that he was in no position to win. That growl in your ear felt like a bomb in your body. You weren't wearing a bra and he could see that. That was the reason for his groan.
His fingers eventually found your nipples and he began to knead them in the same way he had kneaded your ass. You bit your lip to keep from letting all the pleasure Severus was giving you out into the open.
"Are you okay, Y/n? You're all red," Arthur said, worried about his friend.
Severus stopped his movements as all eyes were now on you.
You nodded, wanting to reassure them and avoid getting caught.
"Yes, yes. I think I'm just a little tired. Do you mind if I slip away now?"
All of your friends nodded and wished you a pleasant night as the smart ones figured out where the redness in your cheeks really came from. After Severus zipped up your dress, you took him by the hand and got up from the couch, dragging him behind you.
When you got to your room, you closed the door, this time with a key. Then you turned to face him, arms crossed.
" Go ahead. Can you explain to me why you forgot my birthday ?”
"I'm ashamed,I’m so sorry  you know ? " Severus fled your gaze as he reached into the back pocket of his pants but unfortunately you notice and asked for it.
"What are you hiding ?”
You weren't totally mad, but seeing Severus so secretive left your imagination free to invent far-fetched scenarios that almost always ended with Severus admitting to cheating on you and that broke your heart. You joined him on the bed, trying to keep your composure as he sheepishly pulled a book from his back pocket.
 "That's what did it. That's what made me... forgot your birthday." You took it from his hands.
"What's this?" you asked as you began to flip through it quickly.
"It's a book about sex. Lucius gave it to me, and incidentally wrote it as well, when I told him about us.”
Severus explained everything in detail, so much so that by the end of his story, you couldn't be angry anymore. On the contrary. Severus did all this to make sure he would be ready for his first time with you. It was adorable.
"Remind me never to give Lucius a chance if we ever break up " you said with a laugh.
"D-Does that mean that's not how it works ?" questioned Severus confused.
"Well... In fact... I don't know about that, Sev. I'm a virgin too." you confessed making him even more confused.
"You are ? But I thought that... What about your ex’s boyfriends ?"
You settle down a little better on the bed, not knowing how to explain it to him.
"So... Yeah I've had a bunch of boyfriends but none of them have ever touched me. And if they tried..." Severus sits cross-legged in front of you, all ears "... I break up with them. First time, you only get one. I didn't want to give it to just anyone. I never felt safe enough or in love with them enough to take the plunge." your hands find Severus', you intertwine your fingers gently. "But with you, everything is different, Severus."
"Wait Y/n... You mean you..." begins Severus, his eyes sparkling.
You smile softly at your boyfriend, your cheeks turning a little red as he moved closer to you without really realizing it.
"Yes, Sev. I'm in love with you," you finally admit.
"Oh Y/n..." he melts on your lips in a tender but passionate kiss "I think... Me too"
Your heart misses a beat. Since the beginning of your relationship, it was you who took the lead and for the roles to be reversed, it often took a few days or even a few months, so you would never have thought that for such an important confession, he would say it so easily. You could not be happier.
Severus gently flipped you over onto the bed, towering over you as you deepened the kiss. Awkwardly, you undressed each other, urgently seeking each other's lips as quickly as possible. You were the first only in your underwear, at least in your panties, and Severus was speechless. The sight of his fiery gaze titillated your pussy, which had not yet recovered from Sev's caresses in the living room. Instinctively, Severus directed his hands towards your breasts, bringing you out of your dream. He began to knead them again as he had done in the living room, but replaced one of his hands with his mouth and then his tongue, wrapping it around your erect nipples with desire. Small moans came out of your mouth in front of all the attentions of your companion.
"Does it feel good?" he asked, gradually gaining confidence.
You nodded knowing that your voice would break before you could finish your sentence. He seemed to understand as a sly smile came to perch on his lips. He wanted to taste your body, to hear your little moans again, which he found adorable and which excited him more than he wanted to say. His lips went down along your belly to land near your panties asking you for access silently. For all answer you did not delay to pull down your panties wanting desperately to feel him inside you, or at least it was as you translated the sudden heat and tingling that rose from your crotch. Severus in front of you couldn't stop his sex from growing even larger as exotic scents wafted up to his nose.
"Severus," you breathed in a prayer.
"Anything for you, love" he replied.
Within seconds, his tongue met your clit, warming it and covering it with kisses. A few minutes later he was already moving his tongue down to visit your already moistened pussy, making you moan louder than before.
"Please, Sev'. I think I'm going to cum."
"Do you think you can wait for me?" he asked as he lovingly stroked your hair.
You nodded slowly, catching your breath as Severus' tongue left your folds.
"Are you ready?  Lucius told me it can hurt the first time for girls, so tell me if I -" his sex in his hand he placed it in front of your entrance as he towered over you.
"It's okay, Sev. I trust you." your smile encouraged him.
He nodded, not totally reassured. So far, it had been easy, he had been content to trust his desires and the reaction of your body, but now it was going to be harder. He could feel it. But encouraged by your love, he ended up pushing his erect member little by little into your dripping sex. An electric shock went through both of your bodies. He didn't move right away, feeling your walls tightening dangerously around his sex. Then you motioned for him to move, which he did, slowly pulling his sex out of yours before moving back in again, keeping a slow pace. The first few trips in and out were painful, but soon it was pleasure that took over. For Severus, it was pure pleasure and moaning, he loved being inside you, but was still afraid you wouldn't.
"Is that good for you, love? Can I speed it up a little?"
"Yes...; please."
So he accelerated his comings and goings, always focused on the reaction of your body to his. Your breathing became more jerky as his change of pace allowed him to perfectly match your pleasure points. It was the first time he felt like this, he felt like he was too far away from you even though his whole body was married to yours and he wanted to be one with you all the days of his life, to feel your body pressed against his forever. It didn't take long for you to tighten your grip on your lover, feeling your deliverance coming.
"Severus... I-" your sentence was swallowed up by the wave of pleasure that engulfed you.
Severus joined you in your orgasm a few minutes after yours, prolonging it as he continued to go back and forth.
"Y/n, Y/n, Fuck, Y/n!" he moaned in your ear.
Breathless, he pulled out of you and immediately took you in his arms, thanking you for your patience by covering you with kisses. He had been a little rough with you but you thought it had been for the best.
"Perfect," you sighed.
"I couldn't have said it better," he said between breaths. "Do you think we could do this again?" he questioned.
"That was our first time, remember? So there's no reason why it should be the only one." you kissed him tenderly, laughing "We can do it again whenever you want.”
"Even... Now?" he asked with an innocent look but flame of desire in his eyes.
You bit your lip before nodding.

The business world has always been mercilessly cutthroat; that’s one of the first things business students learn when they enter college. The competition to get an internship at a top company was fierce. Recruiting has to start at least a year in advance if you even want to give yourself a chance.
Luckily for you, you were the top student in your program. Well, one of the top students. Over the past four years, your position had been flip flopping with some surprisingly competent bonehead who annoyingly plagued your life.
“Excited to be graduating this semester, ___?” an all too familiar voice interrupted your studying.
“Excited to graduate as top of the class? Yes, of course,” you replied coldly.
“Top of the class? That’s a little presumptuous, don’t you think?” the handsome boy sat on your table.
“I think it’ll be pretty much set in stone after this last final,” you returned your attention to your notes.
“Well, even if you’re number one, I think experience matters a lot in this field,” the boy refused to leave you alone.
“Then it’s a good thing I did an internship with one of the top companies over the summer,” you glared at him.
“Oh yeah, how could I forget about the internship that you stole from me?” the boy pouted.
“I was obviously more qualified. And how could you say that when you stole my opportunity to go on a study abroad trip with my favorite professor last Spring Break? I’m still furious that he chose you over me solely because you were sleeping with his daughter,” you retorted.
“That was a coincidence! I don’t know how many times I need to tell you that,” he tried to defend himself.
“Whatever. Do me a favor and leave me alone, Hoseok. Hopefully today will be the last time I’ll ever see you.”
“That’s kind of sad to think about. Who else will get under my skin and annoy me every time they open their mouth?” Hoseok bantered, “Also, I told you to call me Hobi.”
“That would imply that we’re on friendly terms. I don’t like lying, Hoseok.”
“Fine. Good luck on that last final. See you around,” Hoseok hopped off the table and patted your head.
“Don’t touch me,” you grumbled as he walked away.
Tumblr media
That was five years ago.
The company that you interned with gave you a job offer immediately after graduation. Quickly moving up through the ranks proved to be an easy feat since your tenacious nature made you the ideal employee.
You were currently waiting outside of the CEO’s office. Seconds felt like hours as you mindlessly bounced your leg. It was eerily silent, and all you could hear were the click clacks of the receptionist’s keyboard as she worked. You looked around at the bleak décor that was a sorry excuse for modernism as you racked your brain. Were you in trouble? Did something happen? You were summoned up for a meeting but had no clue what it was going to be about.
Once you were finally called in, you were greeted by both the CEO and VP of the company.
“___, please take a seat,” the CEO politely smiled, “As you know, I am getting old. I am unmarried, so therefore I have no one to oversee the company after I’m gone. The executive council and I have been looking for people to fill my shoes. Or at the very least, take a seat on the executive council if one of them were to take my place.”
“Your numbers have been exceptional this month,” the VP chimed in, “And every month prior. After much deliberation, your name has been cast into the lot.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Being a member of the executive council at your age was almost unheard of.
“There is one other candidate that has also been hand selected at the other branch. You both are to attend a conference in which you will mingle with executives from other companies. There will also be a time in which you will pitch an idea to me on how to make this company better,” the CEO continued when he saw your loss for words.
“First and foremost I would like to thank you for this opportunity. I will do my best to live up to your expectations,” you bowed to show your gratitude.
“Perfect. The conference is in two weeks. I believe that should give you ample time to prepare your presentation,” the VP shook your hand.
After shaking hands with the CEO, you turned to leave. However, something was nagging you.
“May I ask who the other candidate is?” you inquired.
“Jung Hoseok from the northern branch,” the VP answered without missing a beat.
“Ah,” your brain exploded.
“Do you know him?” the CEO asked.
“We went to college together. I know of him,” you said curtly.
“Well you’ll finally get your chance to meet him. I’ve heard he’s very popular with the ladies at his branch. That’s not pertinent to his skills; however, you can’t blame an old man for wanting to know the gossip of his own employees,” the old man chuckled.
“Of course,” you smiled politely as you excused yourself from the office.
Jung Hoseok? That douchebag? Just your luck to run into him again (to fight for the next step in your career no less!). You think back on all the run ins you had with him during your collegiate days. Nothing but irritating memories of the two of you competing for the top spot came to mind.
Whatever. It didn’t matter who the other candidate was. You had to get to work and come up with a brilliant plan that will impress the CEO. You brushed the thought of Hoseok aside. It had been a couple of years, maybe he wouldn’t even remember you. There’s no need to stress out over something so trivial.
Tumblr media
The weekend of the conference had finally arrived. You were instructed to travel together with Hoseok. You waited alone at the airport terminal. If you were lucky, Hoseok wouldn’t show up at all. You weren’t.
“___!” Hoseok called out your name in a sing songy voice.
“Hello Hoseok. Glad to see you haven’t changed,” you were already irritated.
“How are you? It’s been so long. You look great!” he went in for a hug but you turned away.
He stood awkwardly with his arms in the air for a second until he bounced back. He took the seat next to you and began chatting. You answered his list of questions apathetically.
“Did I do something to offend you?” Hoseok finally asked.
“I just think it’s funny that even after all these years, I still have to compete with you,” you retorted.
“Still hung up on that? It doesn’t even matter anymore. We got good jobs and now we’re here. Together! Isn’t that cool?”
“No, not at all. Although I guess it will be nostalgic coming out on top once again,” you smirked.
“Your competitive nature always amused me. You’re so cute when you lose,” Hoseok teased.
“I never lost to you,” you gasped.
“That’s not what that one study abroad trip with Professor whatshisname says,” he cooed.
“Professor Namjoon! You knew he was my favorite, you prick. At least I graduated as top of the class with honors,” you argued.
“My GPA was off by thousandths of a point. That doesn’t really bother me. But I’m glad you have something that makes you happy,” Hoseok shrugged.
‘This is gonna be one long fucking weekend’, you thought.
The flight was short and pleasant since Hoseok left you alone. You wanted to see as little of him as possible during this trip. You intended to get that promotion no matter what.
After the plane landed, the two of you made your way to the hotel that was hosting the conference.
“Hi, last name ___ and Jung?” you smiled at the hotel concierge.
“Ah yes, you guys are here for the business conference?” the concierge asked.
“Indeed we are!” Hoseok chimed in from behind you.
“Alrighty, I got you guys all checked in. Enjoy your stay!” the concierge handed you a singular set of keys.
“Oh, I’m sorry, there must be a mistake. We’re in two separate rooms,” you politely tried to hand back the keys.
“The reservation is for a singular suite,” the concierge explained.
“Probably cheaper that way,” Hoseok reasoned while nodding.
Your fake smile faltered for a second. How the hell are you supposed to spend an entire weekend sharing a room with the most despicable person on the planet?
At least the hotel itself was grand. There was no way you’d ever be able to afford to stay in such a swanky place. The lobby was decorated with ornate marble pillars that were laced with gold trimmings. It even had a fancy fountain in the middle to greet incoming guests, which you thought was a bit overkill.
“Excited to sleep with me, princess?” Hoseok teased, obviously picking up on your annoyance.
“Fuck off. Stay the hell away from my bed and my things,” you spat.
“Who’s to say that you won’t be able to stay away from my bed?” he smirked.
“You wish,” you rolled your eyes as the elevator finally stopped on the top floor.
You led the way to your shared suite with Hoseok. The trip was exhausting; you couldn’t wait to take a nap on your large luxurious bed that was probably topped with Egyptian cotton (one can dream).
You immediately dropped your bags on the side of the room and flopped onto the bed, shutting your eyes.
“Interesting,” Hoseok said.
You ignored him.
“Very interesting,” he continued.
“What? What is so interesting?” you sat up and glared at him in frustration.
“Take a quick glance around the room,” he suggested.
Your heart sank, “No fucking way.”
You loved this trope in fanfics, but in real life? Fuck no, not with this asshole. Yes, there was only one luxurious king sized bed in the room.
“Well, looks like you're going to sleep on the floor,” you smiled sweetly at him.
“The bed is huge, we can definitely share,” Hoseok argued.
“I think the fuck not,” you dropped back onto the bed, “I’m sure you’ll whore your way into someone else’s bed each night anyway.”
“I don’t think I need to, not when I’m already sharing a bed with you,” he flirted.
“Bite me, Hoseok,” you sighed, not in the mood for a tit for tat.
“Are you into that? I’d happily oblige,” he responded as he sat on the other side of the bed.
“I’m afraid that’s confidential information that you are not privy to,” you huffed, turning away from him.
“Are you really going to make me sleep on the floor?” he asked quietly.
“Would you listen to me if I said I wanted you to?” you were curious to know.
“Look, I’ll admit that I can be an asshole, but I’m not a creep. If you’re really not comfortable with sharing a bed with me I’ll sleep on the floor. All I’d ask of you is to spare me a pillow.”
There was a short silence as you mulled over your options.
“Fine, we can share the bed. But I demand a pillow divider to be set between us,” you caved.
“Wahoo! Thank you so much for your generosity, ___. Do you want to use the bathroom to get ready for bed first, or shall I?” Hoseok celebrated.
“I’ll get ready first,” you lazily rolled off the bed and trudged to the bathroom.
You were so tired that you missed hearing Hoseok’s soft chuckle as he watched you stumble to the bathroom. He patiently waited for you to finish before it was his turn to get ready for bed. You were sound asleep by the time he was done.
The blankets were haphazardly sprawled out on your side of the bed. One leg was under the covers while the other was completely exposed. Your mouth was agape with a bit of drool seeping out, and your shirt lifted up to expose some of your tummy.
Hoseok smiled at the sight. Never in a million years did he think he’d ever be lucky enough to see you like this. He pulled down your shirt in an attempt to make you look decent, but there was nothing he could do about your drooling. He tucked you into the sheets properly, making sure that the blankets covered you up to your neck.
He settled into his side of the bed. You forgot to put up the pillow divider. Hoseok stared up at the ceiling, unable to sleep. He turned over to face you in an attempt to get comfortable.
‘She looks so sweet. Almost cute,’ Hoseok thought.
He quickly brushed the thought aside. You were his rival, and have been since the first day of college years ago. He sat up and created a pillow barrier. Bickering with you first thing in the morning was the last thing he wanted.
The first day of the conference was filled with attending various meetings while attempting to make as many networking connections as possible. You got up early and left the room before Hoseok was even awake. The less time spent with him, the better.
Of course, completely avoiding him was impossible. You were to sit with your respective company during the meetings and presentations. The VP sat between you and Hoseok, while the CEO switched between sitting on either side. You were thankful for the separation, but nervous nonetheless.
The CEO would occasionally lean over to ask you questions about the presentations, and he intently listened to your responses. The VP would merely look over occasionally to give you a smile or wink; he acted more like moral support. You knew the entire weekend would practically be an interview, but you underestimated how anxiety inducing it would be.
The higher ups finally left you alone when lunchtime came around. You picked up your lunch in the hotel’s decadent ballroom that had been turned into an eating area. You scouted an empty table in the far corner of the room in the hopes of finding some peace and quiet.
Hoseok had other plans. He saw you sit down at the table and happily followed you.
“Hey there buddy!” he greeted you as he sat down.
“Shouldn’t you be networking with new people?” you rolled your eyes at him.
“I could ask you the same thing,” he retorted as he took a bite of his sandwich.
“I’ve been doing that since before you were awake. I think I deserve a break,” you replied.
“I forgot that you’re quite the hard worker. I couldn’t have asked for better competition,” he said.
“Was that a compliment?” you asked with an amused grin.
“Yeah, and it’s the only one you’ll ever get from me. Is your pitch to the CEO ready?” Hoseok inquired.
“It has been. And no, I’m not going to tell you what it is,” you proudly answered.
“Oh c’mon! Mine is ready too! You’re a damn fool if you think I’m gonna steal your idea. I’m just curious,” he pouted.
“Fine. I’ll tell you if you tell me yours first,” you offered.
“So distrustful,” Hoseok feigned offense, “Okay, so I think offering higher bonuses for working overtime would be a good start. There could even be competitive bonuses in each department for the person who gets the best numbers that month.”
“That’s not a bad idea,” you said at first, “But don’t you think that would just create more animosity between coworkers?”
“I think competition is a healthy motivation factor. It worked for me in college,” Hoseok defended his idea.
“Everyone is competitive in college. Especially in the business schools,” you argued.
“Yeah, but not everyone is you,” Hoseok stated.
“Excuse me?”
“Honestly, I probably wouldn’t be here today if you weren’t always on my ass,” he admitted, “Being your rival was kinda fun. You got flustered so easily, it was almost cute.”
“I do not get flustered easily! Plus, it was always you who was on my ass,” you huffed.
“I see that you still do,” Hoseok laughed, “But seriously. The universe brought us together again so I guess it’s telling me to thank you.”
“That’s uncharacteristically nice of you to say,” you looked away from him to hide your reddening cheeks, “You pushed me too, so thanks for that...I guess.”
“Mhm, no problem buddy. I’ll see you in the next presentation room,” he got up to leave.
“Wait Hoseok!” you called after him.
“Yeah?” he turned around quickly.
“I didn’t tell you my idea--”
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to. Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s brilliant,” he winked before walking away.
The rest of the day passed by quickly. You retired to your room, exhausted from all the forced socialization. Your mind was stuck on what Hoseok said earlier. Maybe he wasn’t as big of an asshole as you thought. Perhaps you mistook a friendly rivalry for toxic competition.
You were sprawled out across the bed in your pjs when Hoseok entered the room.
“Are you gonna sleep like that?” he asked.
“You’re gonna have to forcibly remove me from your side if you want it that badly,” you replied with your eyes still closed.
“That’s fine,” Hoseok said as he abruptly rolled you over to your side.
“Hey!” you squeaked out in protest.
“It was either that, or I laid on top of you and suffocated you.”
“Hmph,” you let out a displeased noise.
“Oh my god, you’re so bratty. How old are you?” Hoseok chuckled.
“Old enough to know that you’re a meanie,” your response was muffled by the pillow you buried your face in.
“Sorry I’m a what?” Hoseok teased.
“A meanie!” you quickly got up and slammed a pillow into Hoseok, catching him by surprise.
“I’m the meanie? You just pelted me with a pillow!” he cowered away from you.
“And I’ll do it again!” you threatened.
“I don’t think so,” Hoseok suddenly lurched forward, tackling you back onto your side of the bed.
You’re both laughing at this point. Seeing Hoseok up close and personal made you realize how handsome he truly was. Had he always been this attractive? Hoseok’s cheerful laugh echoed throughout the room as he loomed over you, pinning you down.
“I’ll get off if you promise not to hit me with a pillow ever again,” Hoseok tried to say in a serious tone, but his smile betrayed him.
“Sorry, I can’t make such a ridiculous promise,” you sassed.
“God, you really are so bratty. Kinda cute, kinda naughty,” Hoseok tsked.
“There’s nothing you can do about it,” you stuck your tongue out at him.
Hoseok leaned down to whisper in your ear, “Oh, I’m sure there’s something I could do.”
That sent chills down your spine. This was perhaps the most intimate moment you’ve shared with someone in a long time.
“Keep dreaming then, lover boy,” you said. Truth be told, just that one sentence turned you on, but you couldn’t let him know that.
“As you wish,” Hoseok released you and retreated back to his side of the bed.
“Maybe you aren’t as big of an asshole as I remembered,” you chuckled.
“You thought I was an asshole?” Hoseok laughed.
“I did. Maybe I still do. Not that it matters, we’ll never see each other again after this stupid conference.”
“That’s not true,” Hoseok disagreed, “I’ll be on the executive council, so you may see me from time to time.”
“I like the confidence. Too bad it’s in vain,” you teased, “I’m going to bed. Our day starts early tomorrow.”
“Our?”
“The. The day starts early tomorrow. Just go to bed Hoseok,” your turned over to conceal the faint smile on your face. Maybe he wasn’t so bad afterall.

The second day of the conference started off as boring as the previous day. The various presenters droned on about different strategies regarding the improvement of a company with a plethora of charts and numbers to back it all up. The CEO wasn’t as talkative today to either you or Hoseok. The VP still made his reassuring gestures to you, flashing smiles and winks here and there.
“Can I see you privately after the last morning presentation?” the VP whispered to you.
“Yes, of course!” you excitedly answer. Currying the VP’s favor may come in handy later.
After the last presentation, the VP discreetly led you to a vacant corner. His tone became serious as he began to speak.
“The CEO discussed his initial thoughts with me last night. I know I probably shouldn’t tell you this, but he’s currently leaning towards Hoseok,” he explained.
The news made your heart sink.
“I’d rather see you on the executive council, if I’m being frank. My pride is on the line since I recommended you,” his voice lowered, “However, I think there is a way to sway his opinion.”
“Which is?” you eagerly asked.
“Someone might overhear here, meet me in my room in an hour,” the VP covertly handed you his room key.
He walked away without another word. The fact that the VP was on your side gave you a faint sliver of hope. The next hour of free time was spent frantically networking while your mind was obviously elsewhere. Every now and then you heard Hoseok’s voice, and just the sound of it spurred you on to make even more connections. By the end of it, your face began to hurt from all the fake smiling.
You were standing in front of the VP’s hotel room exactly an hour after your secret rendezvous. The door opened immediately after you knocked.
“You’re extremely punctual; that’s wonderful,” the VP observed as you entered, “Make yourself comfortable.”
You scoured the room to find a place to sit. Your uneasiness must have been obvious, as the VP gestured towards the bed.
“Thank you,” you said as you awkwardly sat at the edge of the bed, “What is your plan?”
“It’s quite simple actually,” the VP sat beside you, “I just need to get to know you better. That way I can give an authentic and flawless review to the CEO.”
“So, you’re going to conduct an in-depth interview?” you asked timidly as you noticed him scooting closer to you.
“You could say that,” he voice lowered as he rested his hand on your thigh, “We have about 45 free minutes remaining. I believe you should make the most of this interview, Miss ___,” he smiled slyly as his hand began to travel upwards.
“How dare you?!” you yelled as you abruptly pushed him off of you, “I’m going to report you to HR!”
“Then say goodbye to your promotion. You really think you were chosen just because your numbers have been decent? You definitely were not the CEO’s first choice. He didn’t even know who you were. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t even be here,” he explained with a shit eating grin.
“Then why the hell would you even bring me up to the CEO? Just so you could try and sleep with me?” you were enraged.
“Don’t blame me for wanting some eye candy to entertain me during this god awful convention,” he smirked.
“Fuck you, you fucking pig,” you spat.
“Ohhh feisty. I like that in a girl. If you leave now, you can kiss that promotion goodbye,” the VP called out to you as you stormed towards the door.
“And you can kiss my ass, and shove that promotion up yours,” you snapped, flipping him off before slamming the door behind you.
Tears welled in your eyes as you made your way to your room. You were absolutely distraught. Had all your hard work been for nothing? Had you been nothing but a pretty sight for men to stare at for the past five years?
You entered your hotel room to find Hoseok laying on the bed. You quickly wiped away your tears; you hadn’t expected him to be there. He appeared to be taking a nap. You watched his chest rise and fall slowly as you snuck into the bathroom. You freshened yourself up to the best of your abilities. Maybe a little power nap would help calm your nerves. Too bad Hoseok was taking up the bed. Fuck.
You left the bathroom to see if maybe you could curl up in one of the corners of the bed. Luckily, Hoseok was on his side of the bed. You set a timer for half an hour and slowly crawled under the covers. Your eyelids felt heavy as you closed them.
“If you wanted to cuddle you could’ve just let me know,” Hoseok’s voice surprised you.
“Well, I don’t. Leave me alone,” you responded.
“What if I want to cuddle?” he asked.
“There is an abundance of perfectly good pillows for you to use,” you sighed, then sniffled a little.
“Are you sick?” Hoseok asked with a worried tone.
“No, I’m fine,” you answered quickly, panicking.
“___, what’s wrong?” Hoseok was sitting up now.
“Nothing, leave me alone,” you turned away.
“If you insist, I won’t push it. Just know that you can talk to me if you need to,” he offered.
You heard him get off the bed. You pulled the sheets over your head to hide your face. You cried silently as Hoseok shuffled around the room, presumably getting ready to leave. Suddenly, he pounced on you.
“Hoseok! What the fu--” you cried out as he yanked the sheets off of you.
“Surprise attack!” he gleefully exclaimed.
His expression quickly changed when he saw your tear streaked face. You looked up at him with puffy eyes. You were too exhausted to hold your cold stare. Instead, you looked away in embarrassment.
“___, what happened?” he asked softly.
“It doesn’t matter. But congrats, you basically got the promotion,” you laughed in defeat.
“You spoke with the CEO?” Hoseok was shocked.
“No, with the VP. That stupid son of a bitch. He--nevermind. I blew my chance, so the job is all yours. I am almost positive that I am unemployed now as well,” the tears returned and you couldn’t stop them.
“Hey, ___, it’s okay,” Hoseok tried to comfort you, “If the CEO didn’t tell you himself, then you can’t be 100% certain.”
“I was literally only invited because the VP tried to get in my pants!” you blurted out.
“What?” Hoseok was dumbfounded.
“He just told me that I’d have the job if I had sex with him. Can you fucking believe that? How long have I not been taken seriously? This has been so demoralizing,” you let it all out.
“Aw, c’mere,” Hoseok pulled you up and gave you a warm embrace, “What did you say to him?”
“I told him to shove it,” you sniffled against his firm chest.
“There’s the you I know. You haven’t changed a bit,” he chuckled, “We can talk to the CEO together tomorrow about this.”
“Why would you help me? The promotion is basically yours because of this,” you sighed.
“I don’t really care for it, if I’m being honest. I’m satisfied with my job now. I don’t want any more responsibilities,” he answered while stroking your hair.
“Then why are you here?” you looked up at him.
“I only agreed to come after they told me that you’d be here,” he admitted.
You didn’t know what to say. Too many things have happened in the past hour alone.
“Don’t get it twisted, I was just curious to see how you’ve been after all these years. Plus a free trip is always enticing. Getting to share a bed with you has just been an added bonus,” he smiled.
Your timer rang, causing you to break away from Hoseok’s arms.
“Guess it’s time to go to more boring meetings. Yay,” Hoseok feigned enthusiasm.
“I’m gonna stay here. There’s no point in me attending anymore,” you stated.
“Nope, you’re going. I’m dragging you with me! You gotta show the VP that he didn’t frazzle you at all. Fuck that guy. Well, not literally,” Hoseok was pulling you out of bed.
Hoseok subtly made sure that you sat between him and the CEO the entire time. You caught him giving the VP dirty looks, which made you feel a little better.
You quickly excused yourself after the last meeting and tried to make a break for your room. Unfortunately, Hoseok prevented you from doing so.
“You got a date for the banquet tonight?” he asked.
“No. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem because I’m not going. Have fun with your date though,” you shook your head.
“Who said I had a date?”
“I’m sure women were basically throwing themselves at you.”
“You’re not wrong, but I turned them all down. I have my eyes set on one gal.”
“Lucky her, I guess,” you rolled your eyes.
“Indeed. Although I still gotta ask her,” he looked around the room as if he was searching for her.
“You better hurry. Isn’t it in a couple hours?”
“Yep. Alright, here goes nothing!” Hoseok rushed off, finally giving you the chance to disappear.
You let out a sigh of relief as the elevator doors start to close. However, someone’s hand shot through at the last second. Hoseok stumbled in as the elevator doors reopened. You groaned. Why can’t you escape him?
“Did she say yes?” you asked with an indifferent tone.
“Not sure yet. Will you go to the banquet with me?” Hoseok asked.
“Fuck off.”
“Alright, well she just said no. Ouch,” Hoseok clicked his tongue.
“Wait, are you being serious?” your eyes widened.
“If the word ‘date’ threw you off, then I’m happy with going as friends,” he proposed.
“I’m flattered, but I’m really not in the mood to party with random strangers.”
“You don’t have to. Just party with me. Why would I let you be sad and mopey all alone in a hotel room when you could be drinking free booze?”
“Is the alcohol is free?”
“Duh, it’s all being charged to the company. Plus dinner is served.”
“Ok fine, I’ll go. I guess I didn’t pack that stupid dress for nothing.”
“Let’s not allow a gorgeous dress to go to waste,” Hoseok agreed.
“You haven’t even seen it,” you suppressed a smile.
“Anything can be gorgeous if you’re the one wearing it,” he winked.
“Oh, shut up,” a small smile cracked on your face.
Hoseok was the first to get ready for the banquet. He wanted your look to be a surprise so he insisted on going first. You were beginning to find his weird yet endearing antics kind of cute.
You weren’t prepared when he came out of the bathroom. You were well aware that Hoseok was a handsome guy, maybe even handsome enough to model. However, you weren’t ready when Hoseok emerged in a grey suit with his hair styled to reveal his forehead. His radiance was comparable to that of the sun, and he only shone brighter when he smiled at you.
“You look good,” you tried to act cool.
“Thank you! I’ll admit I do enjoy dressing up from time to time. But who doesn’t, am I right?” he beamed.
You nodded as you hauled your things into the bathroom. After about an hour, you were ready: fully dressed, makeup done, confidence soaring. You had forgotten how therapeutic dressing up could be.
Your dress was a deep emerald green that was elegant yet seductive. It had a side slit that flirtatiously showed off one of your legs. The neckline gracefully outlined your cleavage while still remaining on the classy side.
“Holy shit. You look amazing!” Hoseok praised you as soon as you stepped out.
“I was only trying to match you,” you said shyly, trying to hide your flushed cheeks.
“I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be the most breathtaking duo there. Shall we depart?” he extended out an arm.
The dinner started out with boring speeches by people you didn’t care to remember the names of. Hoseok elected to sit at the table furthest away from the stage, which was an excellent choice. That allowed the two of you to chat the night away in hushed voices. You both had already gone through five glasses of wine by the time the speeches were finally over.
“The dance floor is now open! Enjoy the rest of the night, and don’t forget that there’s an open bar!” the MC shouted through the mic.
The lights dimmed and a disco ball lowered in the center of the room. People began to crowd the dance floor. You laughed with Hoseok as you both observed various awkward shuffles and sways.
“Wanna dance?” Hoseok yelled over the music.
“I can’t!” you yelled back.
“I’m sure you can! Let’s go!” Hoseok didn’t wait for a reply.
He dragged you to an empty space on the dance floor. The two of you began drawing attention to yourselves as soon as you stepped out. Two beauties were dancing in the open for everyone to see. You shyly swayed to the rhythm of the music and laughed at Hoseok’s silly moves. However, Hoseok began to move in a way that was absolutely bewitching. He looked like a professional dancer with the way he commanded his body to hit every beat. Hoseok had drawn a very large crowd as people began cheering him on.
You were amazed by his stage presence. You’ve always had a thing for dancers, and he looked downright sexy. The song ended and Hoseok gave his audience a dramatic bow, awarding him deafening applause.
“I didn’t know you could dance!” you shouted when he returned to your side.
“I like to dance in my free time! Did you like it?” he shouted back.
“I’ll admit it was sexy,” you laughed.
“You think I’m sexy?”
“Maybe I do,” you winked.
You had more fun than you expected while dancing with Hoseok. He made you feel secure, so you were able to let loose. You didn’t care what you looked like, as long as Hoseok was there with you.
The night progressed and you began to feel bold. A particularly raunchy song came on, as if it were asking you to grind on Hoseok. And that’s exactly what you did. You guided his hands to your hips as you grinded into his crotch
“You sure you wanna be doing that?” Hoseok spoke into your ear with a low voice.
“Absolutely,” you replied.
Hoseok spun you around and gazed at you intimately while he brought you closer into his body. Various body parts were rubbing against each other now. The sexual tension was palpable.
Hoseok’s hands were running up and down your body, and your mouth was dangerously close to his neck. The scent of his cologne was intoxicating. You couldn’t help yourself; you leaned forward to plant a soft kiss on his neck. His low growl was an indication that he liked it, so you kissed him again with more vigor.
“You’re going to have to stop,” he scolded.
“Shit, I’m sorry. Did I overstep your boundaries?” you were embarrassed.
“Absolutely not. But I can’t fuck you out here in public now can I?” he towed you off the dance floor and made a beeline for the elevators.
Thank god no one else was in the elevator, neither of you could keep your paws off of each other. Hoseok’s hands were unabashedly feeling you up and down while his crotch was slowly grinding into yours. Your arms were wrapped around his neck as you planted kisses along his sharp jawline.
Hoseok couldn’t stop whispering naughty things into your ear during the entire elevator trip up to your shared room. His lowered voice sent chills down your spine as he expressed just how eager he was to finally have you. You felt yourself getting wetter by the second.
“I wanted to strip off that dress the moment I saw you wearing it,” he cooed, “God, I can’t wait to see how beautiful you’ll look underneath me.”
“Hoseok, do you ever shut up?” you teased with a coy smile.
“I dunno, you might have to make me,” he played along.
“Maybe sitting on your handsome face will do the trick,” you said as you nipped his ear.
“Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”
The elevator doors finally opened, and Hoseok quickly dragged you out. He immediately tore off your dress the moment the hotel room door was closed. You did him the same favor as you frantically unbuttoned his shirt to reveal his toned body.
“Why don’t you be a good boy and wait for me on the bed?” you suggested.
“Yes ma’am,” he complied, his eyes never leaving your body.
“Like what you see?” you asked, turning around slowly to fully show off the lingerie that perfectly complimented your body.
“You are so fucking sexy, ___,” Hoseok smiled in awe.
“I’m so glad you think so. You’re not too bad yourself,” you winked at him.
You finally joined Hoseok on the bed. You kiss his body from his abdomen all the way up his chest before stopping at his mouth. You took a second to relish the feeling of his plush lips against yours before he deepened the kiss with a ferocious intensity.
“Wanna try and shut me up now?” Hoseok lifted his eyebrows suggestively once the kiss broke.
“With pleasure,” you responded as you began to position yourself above him, “Wait, do you want me to take this off?” you gestured to your undergarments.
“No need,” he said before abruptly pulling aside your panties.
You slowly lowered yourself onto his face and stopped when you felt his breath on your pussy. Hoseok impatiently gripped your hips and pulled you directly onto his tongue. The sudden contact made you gasp. Hoseok didn’t waste any time getting down to business.
He flattened his tongue out to cover as much area as possible as he licked across your folds. He expertly flicked and lapped your pussy in the perfect places. Your legs began to tremble, and you had to grip onto the bed’s headboard for support.
You looked down to see the beautiful man’s face buried in your pussy; that sight alone was almost enough to bring you over the edge. Hoseok’s hands slithered their way up to your chest, where he began to twist and pull at your sensitive nipples through your bra.
“You taste--so good,” Hoseok panted out from underneath you.
“Should I get off--fuck!” you were interrupted by Hoseok sucking on your clit.
His mouth was heaven sent. Your body began to heat up and soon you lost the strength to hold yourself up even against the headboard.
You cried out as you came all over Hoseok’s face. His face was glistening with your juices as he smiled up at you. He seductively licked his lips to taste you again.
“Your turn?” you asked.
“As much as I wanna see your pretty lips wrapped around my cock, I think I need to be inside you more,” he replied as he repositioned himself.
He stripped off the rest of his clothing. You watched with admiration as more of his skin became exposed.
“You can take off the fancy underwear now,” he said once he caught you staring.
“You don’t want to see it anymore?” you fakeed a pout.
“___, you’re drop dead gorgeous in it. However, I advise you to take it off yourself because I won’t hold back. I don’t want to ruin your underwear, just you,” he replied.
Hoseok mixed in little nibbles while he kissed along your neck. Your voice dripped with bliss as you quietly moaned.
“I guess you do like being bitten, huh? What about this?” Hoseok licked your neck, causing you to squirm underneath him.
“I think I like that too,” you whispered, biting your lip.
You wriggled out of your undergarments, leaving yourself completely naked in front of Hoseok. You pull at the hem of Hoseok’s underwear, eager to see what he was packing.
You were not disappointed. Although he was well endowed, what he lacked in length was made up for in girth.
“Do you want me to use a condom?” he asked.
“I’m on the pill, and I’m pretty sure I’m clean. I haven’t been intimate in an embarrassingly long amount of time,” you admitted, blushing.
“I find that hard to believe,” Hoseok said while kissing around your face, “Since you’re so damn beautiful,” his lips found yours and led you into a passionate kiss.
His hips began to grind into yours, his dick rubbing against your bare pussy. You wrapped your legs around him, bringing him closer.
“Please don’t tease me,” you pleaded.
“What are the magic words?” Hoseok teased.
“Fuck me, Hobi,” you begged.
“Oh my fucking god,” he growled.
He slammed his hips into yours, not giving you enough time to adjust to him. The stretch was intense at first, but it soon turned into nothing but pleasure. Your euphoria grew as he rhythmically bucked his hips into you.
Hoseok spread your legs out as wide as you could go, giving him quite the erotic view that only aroused him more. You tried to stifle your moans, but were failing miserably.
“Don’t hold back baby, let me hear you. Show me how good I make you feel,” he leaned over to whisper into your ear.
You complied instantly, your moans resounding around the room. Hoseok’s position allowed him to hit you deeply with every stroke. Without a word, he pulled out of you and flipped you over onto your knees. He roughly forced your chest down, leaving your ass in the air for him.
“Your ass is so fucking fat,” he said as his hand connected with your bare skin, causing you to shriek.
He kissed it afterward while his fingers teased your clit. He realigned himself with your entrance. This new position was even better than the last. You could no longer hold in your moans even if you wanted to. Hoseok repeatedly hit your g-spot, and you could feel another orgasm welling up within you.
“Hobi, I’m gonna cum,” you cry out.
“Say that again,” he demanded.
“I-i’m gonna cum!”
“No, not that. That’s hot but call me Hobi again,” he chuckled.
“Hobi!” you said with an exasperated tone.
“Yes princess? Fuck, I’m close,” Hoseok’s movements were becoming more haphazard by the second.
“Hobi, right there oh my god keep going please,” you begged, “Hobi...ah shit!” you came undone.
It wasn’t long after until Hoseok followed suit, pulling out to cum all over your ass. He rolled off the bed to get something to clean you up with.
“How are you feeling?” Hoseok asked.
“Better. You?” you answered.
“Doing pretty well. I fucked the girl of my dreams,” he said gleefully.
“Shut up,” you playfully pushed him.
“I’m serious. I’ve adored you since college. I lived for your playful banter,” he began to explain.
“It wasn’t playful,” you interjected.
“Yeah, I know. But that’s what made it fun! All the other girls just wanted to be with me for my looks or whatever. None of them knew the real me.”
“And I did?”
“More so than most. You always pushed me to do my best. I really just wanted to be good enough for you. Kind of silly huh? I even dated that girl in an attempt to make you jealous. Which backfired since her dad was Professor whatshisface who took me on that trip,” Hoseok opened up.
“Hobi I...I’m so sorry. I was such a bitch to you back then. And now too I guess. My competitive side gets the better of me. I was always annoyed by how you were seemingly good at everything. It even irritated me that you’re the most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my life,” you began to apologize, “Oh, and his name is Namjoon. Professor Namjoon.”
“Thanks for reminding me. I hate to admit it but he made me a little jealous. I wanted you to praise me the way you praised him. Anyway, things can change now that everything's out in the open,” Hoseok smiled, “You’re even calling me Hobi! I’ve been dreaming about this moment.”
“Was it everything you ever hoped for?” you joked.
“You said it when you asked me to fuck you, then you said it multiple times while I was balls deep inside of you. So yeah, I would say it was everything I could’ve hoped for, if not more,” he pulled you into his chest.
The two of you continued talking for what felt like hours while cuddling. You hadn’t been this relaxed in ages. You were nearly asleep on his chest when he stroked a strand of hair from your face.
“Tomorrow will be interesting, huh?” he said softly.
“I guess I still have to pitch my idea to the CEO,” you sighed softly, “What a waste of time.”
“It’s not a waste of time if you’re gonna get the promotion,” Hoseok reprimanded.
“I already told you, I’m not. The VP will make sure that you get it. This is good for you. Don’t worry about me,” you kissed his cheek, “We should get some sleep now.”
“Alright. Goodnight, ___,” he kissed your forehead.
“Goodnight Hobi.”
“Fuck, I really love when you say that.”
Tumblr media
It was time. Time to pitch your idea to the CEO for no damn reason. You were beyond nervous, and Hoseok could tell. He tried to ease your nerves by giving you a firm shoulder massage as you both waited to be called into a small conference room.
The VP emerged, ignoring your mean scowl, and called Hoseok in to present first. Of course he would go first, no need to waste time hearing your proposal.
It was an anxiety riddled wait. You recounted the previous day’s events, which was a mistake because that only infuriated you. The whole situation was an affront on your character, and you will not stand for it. You debated giving the VP another piece of your mind at the end of everything.
“___, you’re up,” the VP called you after Hobi finished.
“You’re gonna kill it,” Hobi encouraged you, coupled with a pat on the back.
“This is pointless and you know that,” you sighed.
Hobi shook his head in disagreement. It was heartwarming to see how supportive he was being. Maybe it was due to the fact that the job was practically his already. It doesn’t matter now.
“Good morning gentlemen,” you greet them.
“The floor is yours, Miss ___,” the CEO responded cordially.
“I’ll keep it short and simple. I propose that the best way to improve the company is to shorten work day hours and increase PTO days,” you said confidently.
“Is that it? Can you expound on that?” the VP cynically asked.
“Yes, I’m so glad you asked,” you smiled coldly, “Studies show that employees are exponentially more productive when they are happier. Not only will the company become more efficient, but the overall company atmosphere will become more positive. Interpersonal relationships between employees and bosses will improve in an appropriate professional manner,” you glared at the VP.
“That’s a very interesting take,” the CEO said thoughtfully, “Do you have any suggestions regarding the actual work that the company does?”
“No sir. The company has been thriving, so I believe that the way things are running now are proficient. However, as a company, we should always be willing to listen to our employees’ concerns,” you stated.
“You’ve brought up interesting points to the table. As an employee, do you have any concerns you’d like to express?” the CEO asked.
“There is one pressing matter that comes to mind,” you stole a glance at the VP to see him shift uncomfortably in his seat, “I firmly expect that employee/supervisor relationships should be strictly professional.”
“Are you just giving us your opinion on office romances?” the VP sneered.
“I believe that trying to use intimacy as leverage is highly immoral, if not a fireable offense,” you held your ground.
“Of course,” the CEO agreed.
“Then said employee would simply need to file a complaint with HR,” the VP dismissed you.
“What better way to get my complaint heard than speaking directly to the CEO?” you smiled sweetly, “Sir, yesterday the man sitting beside you crudely suggested that I sleep with him in order to gain the promotion. He also alluded that all of my accomplishments are for naught, and that I am purely ‘eye candy’.”
“Is this true?” the CEO asked his VP in dismay.
“Of course not. She’s grasping at straws. Look how desperate she is to get the job,” the VP quickly defended himself.
“I am not lying. I am fully prepared to be fired on the spot. I cannot continue to work at a company that allows this kind of sloppy behavior to go unpunished. Thank you for your time,” you bowed and quickly took your leave.
You released a huge sigh as soon as you were outside of the room. Hobi rushed over to your side. Suddenly, you began to laugh hysterically. Hobi looked at you nervously, obviously concerned about your mental state.
“Isn’t it so funny? All my hard work had just been flushed down the toilet by a stupid man drunk on power. I love that!” you wheezed.
“___, ___ calm down. What happened?” Hobi inquired.
You told him what just went down. A smile crept across his face as you got to the part where you put the VP on the spot.
“I wouldn’t count yourself out just yet dude,” Hoseok shrugged, “All we can do is wait.”
“Yeah, I’ll be the first one to congratulate you on your new job. Then I’ll begin my search for a new one,” you gave him a thumbs up.
The VP stumbled out of the room and angrily stomped towards the both of you.
“You fucking bitch! Who do you think you are? Do you even know what you’ve done? I know people. I’m gonna make sure your life is hell!” he yelled at you.
“That’s enough! You have been dismissed. I do not want to see your face around here again. Clean out your office on Monday,” the CEO ordered, “Would the both of you please follow me back into the room?”
You both timidly followed him, curious as to what he had to say.
“I apologize on behalf of the company for this incident. This isn’t the first time a complaint has been filed against him. Unfortunately, he always told me that they were just futile grasps for leverage and I foolishly believed him. However, his loss is your gain,” he smiled, “How would you like to be my new Vice President?”
You were agog. Hoseok’s eyes widened as he stood beside you.
“Surely there are more qualified people,” you stammered in disbelief.
“There definitely are. But none of them are what this company needs. It takes a special person to have their rival pitch all the reasons why you are a better candidate than they are,” the CEO happily nodded.
“I- he what?” you cast a surprised look at Hobi.
“Oh yes. He spent all his time highlighting your best qualities as an employee. It was quite a shock,” the CEO smiled.
“I will humbly accept your offer. Thank you so much sir, I will work even harder!” you bowed gratefully.
“That brings me to Mr. Jung. The position on the executive council is yours, if you want it,” the CEO offered.
“If the offer is unopposed, then I have no choice but to accept. I will do my best!” Hobi joined in your bowing.
“Wonderful! It’ll be refreshing to see some lively young faces at those atrocious meetings,” the CEO laughed, “Oh, and one more thing. The two of you will have to relocate to the main branch, I hope that’s okay. I look forward to working with both of you.”
You both nodded gleefully. After the CEO dismissed the pair of you, the trip back up to your hotel room was nothing but joyous. It was like you were in a dream that you never wanted to wake up from. You even pinched each other to make sure it was all real.
“I can’t believe you were advocating for me,” you hugged him.
“You deserve it. Your impressive diligence should not go unrewarded,” he squeezed you tighter, “Plus, this ended up being pretty sweet! Congratulations to both of us!”
“We need to go out to celebrate!” you wiggled.
“Yes! Let me take you out,” Hobi tackled you onto the bed.
“Where shall we go?” you playfully ask.
“Maybe we should go explore our new city together?” he suggested.
“Our?”
“Yes, our. And when I say I’m gonna take you out, I mean as a date. Because I want to date you. And have been wanting to for years,” Hoseok charismatically emphasized.
“I’m looking forward to starting this new chapter of my life with you then, Mr. Jung Hoseok,” you press your forehead against his.
“Imma be all up in your bidness girl,” he joked.
“Your business is my business now loser,” you teased back.
Looks like all that hard work had paid off, and there’s no better reward than finally being with Jung Hoseok.

Hello! I’m not sure who you take requests for, but could I request Midoriya, Uraraka, and Kirishima with an s/o who they think is cheating on them but it turns out they were just playing an otome game? If it’s not too much? Have a wonderful evening!
BNHA CHARACTERS WHEN THEY THINK YOUR CHEATING (but it’s just an otome game)
I accept almost anybody from BNHA, except a fewwww (Overhaul, Endeavor, Kurogiri, that’s probably it tbh) anyways thank you for the requesfksnsksk!
MIDORIYA
Tumblr media
Midoriya was on his way to your dorm, excited to finally spend some time with you after a few weeks because he had extensive training with All Might. He was right in front of your door, and almost entered, and right when he cracked the door he heard,
“He’s so cute! Ugh, yes I would love to go out with you!” Izuku’s breath hitched.
You heard a creak and turned to see Midoriya’s head peeking through the door, with his eyebrows furrowed. You smiled and waved,
“Hey Midoriya! I was waiting for you, I was thinking today we could-
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Your eyes faltered, taken aback at his rough tone.
“Tell you...what exactly? Was Bakugo talking about me again? Everytime that loser opens his mouth I swear-
“IF YOU DIDN’T LIKE ME ANYMORE JUST TELL ME. DON’T- don’t lead me on like some lovesick dog.” He shouted, tears ready to fall at any second. You looked at him mouth wide open.
“Izuku, I do like you? I love you quite a lot that’s why I’m dating you, what’s-what’s the problem?” You cried, confused at why he was looking so angry with you.
“I heard you! Calling- WHOEVER THAT WAS CUTE, AND SAYING YOU WOULD GO OUT WITH THEM! H-HOW COULD YOU?” He sputtered out, wiping the tears out of his eyes with an aggressive fist. You looked at him and a slight grin began to grow. You walked over to him.
“You mean...this guy right here?” You say as you lift up your phone to show some animated boy on your screen, with the words ‘I will pick you up at 8, my love’ showing up from a speech bubble. Midoriya stepped back, processing what he had just read.
“S-so...you’re not cheating on me?” He said with big eyes.
“No, it’s just an otome game baby, I could and frankly would never. I love you too much.” You whispered, running your hand through the hair on the back of his head and he hugged you.
“Oh...I’m sorry baby, I didn’t realize-
“It’s alright. Let’s just go lay down yeah? I found this awesome movie I think we would like!”
Just like that, Midoriya was back to being your lovesick puppy. Was there something wrong with that?
URARAKA
Tumblr media
Uraraka wasn’t one to be too nervous about cheating. I mean, you were hers. Who was there that would even make you think about being whisked away from the bond that you two had? Apparently, there was somebody. And apparently, you didn’t mind.
Uraraka was walking out of the school, ready to go home and get all of her homework over with. Present Mic had no mercy for the kids of 1-A. As she walked she saw you, beautiful you, out of the corner of her eye.
“Yeah, he’s the best! I can’t believe how flirtatious he is though...not that I mind” you say as your friends laugh and giggle with you. Uraraka covers her mouth, and for a second she almost thinks about ignoring it.
You and her had something special. She knew it. You knew it. So what was it that she had done that had made you resort to somebody else? Was this her fault? Either way, maybe if she ignored it and tried to be a little better for you, there would be no reason to cheat. But that thought was quickly pushed away as Ochako knew her worth. She stomped over to your group and pulled you away by your bag.
“Woah! Ochako what’s wrong with you? I thought you were going to go home and do Present Mic’s 27-inch tall packet?” You laughed as you faced her. But she couldn’t find it in her to laugh. She couldn’t even find it in her to look at you, so she chose her oh so boring shoes.
“So, who is it.” She states, biting her tongue. Her heart was shattering, but what could she do?
“Who is...who? Did I miss something or are you having short term memory loss.” You joked, smiling at her.
“STOP JOKING AROUND. JUST- JUST TELL ME WHO IT IS AND WE CAN BREAK UP AND I CAN LEAVE. PLEASE.” She yelled, voice cracking aggressively. You stepped back, your smile dropping in an instant.
“Ochako, I don’t know who told you what, and I don’t know what you think you’ve figured out, but I don’t know who you’re talking about or what you mean.” You explain slowly, trying to analyze her anger.
“I heard you. I heard you talking about some stupid guy and how flirty he is and all that and well...I’m not mad...I could never be mad at you. But please, don’t push me to the sidelines.” She begged, tears falling vigorously. Your eyes widened as she spoke. She finally looked at you and seeing her eyes as red as they were broke you the most.
“Ochako...there is no boy. I could never, I would never want to. We’re us remember? There’s nobody out there who could take me away from you but...I think I know what you meant” You said as you held up your phone. She saw the boy on the screen giving you a despicable smirk and the relief washed off her face and she relaxed in front of your intense love-filled eyes. This was all some big misunderstanding. And her sweetheart was just playing some stupid game. And the boy- wasn’t real. She grabbed you arm and pulled you into her.
“I love you. I love you so, so much. Never leave me.” She whispers.
“Where would I find anyone better?”
KIRISHIMA
Tumblr media
Kirishima was the type who could be insecure but would never tell you about it. To project his problems and insecurities onto you would be rude of him. They’re his problems, not yours. However today, all would be set free.
Eijiro was walking past your lunch table to go and get some yogurt. Usually you two would sit together every other day because you liked to interact with all other members of the class so you usually sat with a somebody else on days like today. And as you sat with Mina, Uraraka, and Tsuyu, Kirishima heard you say something that could have made him pass away on the spot,
“Guys I’m telling you she’s so hot. Like please come get me, she even asked me out!” You screeched with a grin as the other girls smiled back.
“And what did you say to her?” Mina giggled.
“YES! WHAT WOULD YOU SAY MINA!” You said as you jokingly rolled your eyes. “If God requests I take the opportunity” you all laughed and as you saw Kiri out of the edge of your eye you gave him a smile. The sweetest smile, God he was in love with you. But...did you feel the same? He decided that he didn’t want to make a scene and waved back at you with the best smile he could manage.
Later on that day as Kirishima sat in your room, as you doodled in your notebook he glanced at you and decided to bring up the dreadful fact. That you didn’t want him anymore.
“So what did I do.” Eijiro whispered. It was so quiet but since there was no noise you heard it easily. You looked up at him confused.
“What?” You asked, your eyebrow raising.
“What did I do. To make you find somebody else?” He asked, looking away from you. Eijiro knew that if he looked at you he would cave. He would always cave for you.
“I haven’t found somebody else? I’m not too sure who told you that but-
“STOP LYING. I HEARD IT. I HEARD YOU. TALKING ABOUT SOME GIRL AND HOW SHE ASKED YOU OUT. I KNOW I’M NOT PERFECT, AND I KNOW I AM NOT AS SMART, OR AS ATTRACTIVE AS OTHER PEOPLE BUT I THOUGHT- I THOUGHT YOU COULD LOOK PAST THAT. I THOUGHT YOU DID LOOK PAST THAT.” He yelled, his fists clenching and unclenching when the pain became too much. You couldn’t even answer at first but the first thing you could think was..is that really how he saw himself? Not good enough?
“Eiji...what do you mean you’re not as smart or attractive? Who- where did you even get that from?” You choked out as tears began to build. You couldn’t help it, yelling was never something you could take.
“Does it matter?” He spat.
“Yes! God yes it does. Because Eiji you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You are incredibly smart when it comes to hero work, why would I care about some test grade made by old people with no life? And handsome...Kirishima you are so handsome that I stare at you everyday and wonder how you wanted me. You could have anybody, with your personality, your looks, and your talent combined what could I give you? Seeing you now...it hurts Eiji. I love you, you will always be more than enough for me.” You sputtered out. You tried moving closer but he moved away from you once again as tears fell down your eyes and built up in his.
“Well obviously I wasn’t enough because you found somebody else.” He ranted as you shook your head.
“No no no, Kiri I didn’t find anybody I was talking about some otome game I found! There is nobody else sweetheart- there could never be anybody else.” You whispered as you tried one last time to move closer. And Kirishima didn’t move.
“Really? There is nobody else? You still...you still love me?” He cheered as he hugged you tight, and put his head in your neck as you two sat there in a peaceful embrace.
“Of course not. I have you. Everything I need, and so, so much more. I love you Kiri.” You whispered as you kissed his cheek.
“I love you. Until the end of time.” Lord knows Kiri would love you even after that.
FIN
Okayyyy that was my first request jesus christ- I tried to kinda give the reader different personalities because I don’t really like it when people make all their readers have the same personality like- there are so many people in the world! Anyways I think I need to make a page on what I will and will not write but the list is quite open. Platonic, romantic, up to 5 people for a headcannon, and no smut...That’s simple right? (no.)
Anyways thank you all for reading!!! <3

Bad blood
Warnings: racism, hate crime, cannon type violence, kinda but not really smutty so like 16+ as always if I missed someone pls tell me !
A/n the girls of Wattpad really liked this one so I hope you all enjoy as well!
"Y/N you and Reid are going to lead this interview even though you are together make a great team and I think you can crake him are you guys okay with that?"
Spencer and I looked and each other and smiled in unison we replied.
"Yes we are more than okay with that"
Spencer and I have been together for 2 years 324days and 6 hours well that's what he said to me when I woke up next him laying of his bare chest, even though we basically spend every day together we still needed uno special time together and oh was it special. Before we told hotch about our relationship we were able to be in the field together until one time I thought Spence died and then I started crying and it was a whole big thing but now are months not working together we got to do what we both love and with each other.
Before we walked into the interrogation room together Spence turned to me and said.
"Are you sure your okay to do this, you don't have to if you don't want to this case is close to you even if he didn't hurt your family"
This unsub was committing hate crime murders for the last nine months pretending to go on dates with balck women then brutally murder them, Garcia found his manifesto online called "the eradication of all unpure women" it took Kevin who was with her at the time to calm her down as she had to read it out loud I felt bad for her but everyone else felt bad for me. Was looking at me in that moment I wished more than ever to be where Tara was right now, interviewing a child rapist.
I replied to Reid whilst plastering on a fake smile,
"Spencer I'm gonna be fine if anything these women looking like me being like me makes me wanna catch this motherfucker even more"
He smiled and gently kissed me before we both walked in.
"Tyler Walker do you know hey your here"
He ignored my question then Spencer asked the same one only then did he reply.
"Tyler if I'm going to be in here you need to speak to both of us" I sternly replied
"Well if your gonna bring you boyfriend in here since you clearly can't do this on you own them I'm gonna talk to the man here if you'd don't mind"
Spencer interjected saying
"Tyler we found the hearts of all the women murdered in you home why were they in there?"
I don't know I didn't touch them"
He didn't ask if you touched them we asked what you did to those girls" I sternly said.
"You know what If you want to know what I hypothetically would have done to those women I tell you, but only little miss chocolate in the room and only her."
Before Reid could protest I said "yeah sure let's talk"
Spencer's POV
As I walked to the door I gave y/n a reassuring smile she turned and gave me one back but her face was filled with anger and fear, she would never tell me this but she was scared. We didn't shy away from the topic of race within our relationship I read of lot of books and educated myself before I even started dating her I would never understand but I will always try my hardest to be there. And sometimes she just wanted to come home and cry let her emotions out about what it was like being black in American and that was okay as well because I love her.
"How do you think she's gonna do in there?" JJ asked reluctantly
"If I'm being honest I don't know"
Y/N's POV
I sat down trying to make myself look bigger and take up more space within the room than I actually did to encourage my self but in my head I was fucking shitting it.
"Okay we are alone now tell me"
"Just remember sweetheart this is all hypothetical I never did anything if the thing I am about it say" Tyler replied in a menacing tone
"Yes I know get on with it then"
The next 15 minutes felt like a blur, 15 minutes 900 seconds that's how long I heard Tyler speak about all the torcher he wanted to our women like me through half way he started to refer to the women with my name making me imagine him doing these Haines and despicable things to me. I think what was the worst part was that he was smiling whilst he describe these disgusting thing to me he smiled I felt violated and felt used and felt like he had infested my personal space chipping away at the emotional armour I developed whilst having this job.
Once he finished I was on the brink tears but I never going to show him that I left the room being met only by Spencer's face he was seething but I didn't care I just wanted him to hold me to tell me everything was going to be okay.
"Y/N it's okay your okay your other now" he said whilst soothing me.
"I just don't think I can get back in there-"
As I said that Derek stormed in took one look at me and brought me to his arms even though it wasn't Spencer it just felt right in the time to hug him he would understand the most out of the team what I was going through.
"Y/N I know you said you don't want to go back in there but he got him his prints were all over the bodies we found and he had the hearts of the victims he's going to go away for a long time but now you can tell him that take back your power Y/N"
"Ok I'll do it"
"Y/N are you sure you wanna do it this you don't have to?" Spencer said whilst searching my eyes for any fear I had.
I smirked at Spencer whilst he looked at me in confusion I replied.
"Nope I'm okay and I know just what I'm gonna talk about"
By this point the whole team was in the room
"Y/N are you okay love I heard what happened"
"I'm okay Emily but right now you get to watch me drag a white supremacist to filth."
I barged into the interrogation room not letting Tyler speak.
"Okay listen Up bird brain your already done for we found your prints all over the body and that were at your house so now this is just a formality"
"So if you think you've caught me why I am not in a jail cell right now? Hmm"
"You were so nice to me and described the rape, torture, murder and the disfigurement that you would do to me so now I'm just going to repay the favour"
"You know you were right about him being my boyfriend you know"
"so the lanky white one is you boyfriend, I've always said that pure breads shouldn't mix with you people"
"Tyler your going to prison for a very long time you racist rhetoric means nothing to me,but since you I have been so kind to me I am going to spend the next 15 no 20 minutes going in full detail about the amazing sex I had with my white boyfriend last night if we can fit it all in 20 minutes. We will just have to see won't we?"
Spencer's POV
My jaw had dropped to the floor when y/n said that I mean yes it would be hot for her to describe every single we did last night both of us have an eidetic memory so I know she remembers it all but in front of a racist unsub I had I was weirdly impressed and terrified at the same time.
"You don't think she's actually gonna do that?" I asked to the team in complete and utter shock
"Reid when was the last time y/n has ever lied to us?"
"Once JJ but she couldn't even go the whole day telling the lie she ended buying hotch a dozen of his favourite donuts even though she only ate one"
Derek and Emily started chuckling and said.
"That means she's not lying"
The unsub was seething with anger when y/n carried on speacking
" Tyler I didn't a little digging on you and I found out form you pervious girlfriends that apparently you can't put it up in one of you girlfriends exact words she says no matter how hard I tried he could never get hard"
"You don't know anything you slut"
"oop Tyler your using big words especially with someone who only has the education of a 5th grader"
But you know what Tyler lucky for you I have and eidetic memory I don't think you know what that is so I'm just gonna tell you... that means I remember everything so we're gonna have some fun together hmm"
20 minutes, 1200 seconds that's how long y/n spoke in detail about about sexual escapades from last night throughout these 20 minutes Derek started recording so he could send this back to Garcia. Light  chuckles and laughs were heard here and there then oos and ahhs, then total shock was the look on everyone's face and a gasp coming from Garcia who Derek had patched in a phone call so she could listen too when y/n got to the last bit.  I guess they just assumed because I'm the youngest apart from y/n and .... well I'm me that we would have a boring sex life but I guess we surprised them.
Y/N's POV
After I finished I wasted no time in leaving but before I did I said one more thing.
Tyler you are going to prison for a very long time you probably get life or even the death penalty so I want you to remember what I spoke to you about every single time you try your hardest to get it up every. Single. Time. I hope you know after your manny years in prison never getting to see the outside again and you die I will be sleeping soundly knowing you are burning in hell"
I walked out and the whole team was silent in utter shock of what I said then i realised I probably shouldn't have said any of that too an unsub.
" omg hotch I am so sorry that was completely inappropriate and unacceptable what I did in there and wasn't right at all I-"
"I'm sorry y/n I don't know what your talking about what did you say in there"
"What I just spent the last 20 minutes-"
Seriously y/n what are you talking about you went I told him what he was being charge for and you walked back out hun what are you talking about?"
Im what I'm so confused what?"
Then Spencer finally said
"Babe I know I can be dumb sometimes but please read the room"
I looked around still so confused until I finally realised.
Ohhhhh ok yeah yeah I get it now"
Okay but when are you are pretty boy releasing the sex tape cause I would like to pre order"
The whole teams was laughing including me and Spencer I replied simply with
"in your dreams Morgan in your dreams"

visions (warren worthington iii x fem reader)
Tumblr media
genre: angst
summary:  why must visions become reality?
words: 1.1k
warnings: ANGSTY PURR ✨🗣, x-men apocalypse spoilers, mentions of physical fighting and death, just some sad stuff. in terms of fluff, this is a decrescendo.
a/n: hi! reader is a mutant and has a strand of very very light hair that has a bluish tint and sparkles, as well as extremely light eyes and sharp canines! other than that there is no predetermined factor of appearance! also, y/n was not used so if u wanted to read this an x an oc or x another fem character, that should work well!
⚔⚔⚔
"Move over!"
"No way, your wings take up the whole bed anyway!"
"That's mutantphobic!"
A loud laugh sounded from the smaller girl resting in Warren's arms, her cheeks growing sore from all the smiling she had (and always was around him) been doing.
"I'm a mutant too, y'know, so I don't quite see how that could work."
He shuffled about for a moment, moving so that one of his beautiful wings would rest over her top half, bringing her an unprecedented level of calm.
She looked over from where she lay on her back, stretching one of her hands to lightly run her fingers over the sharpened tip of his wing.
Warren watched from his position on his stomach, a fond look coming across his angelic features, one that seemed to creep its way onto his face whenever he was in her presence.
Pale moonlight streamed in from the cracked window just above their heads, Illuminating the strand of her hair that appeared as a sparkling sliver of the Arctic Ocean.
Warren would oftentimes find himself twirling it whenever he would snuggle up to the girl on nights like these, the contrast of the soft texture feeling pleasant on his calloused fingertips. It also shined light on her glorious eyes of the same color, that he could (and has) get lost in for hours, drowning.
A chilly breeze found its way through the glass panel as well, Warren's immediate response to pull her closer, which he did.
His wing that previously was on top of her suddenly curled under her to the best of its ability, pulling her close enough to him to where he could take grip of her with his own strong arms.
She smiled, her sharpened canines glistening faintly in the white hue of the moon's glow.
Then it was quiet for a bit, just some rock song playing softly in the back, accompanied by the howling of the wind. It lulled the pair into a serene state, an implacable emotion filling them up from their tippy toes to the tops of their heads.
And in that moment, with his golden curls all astray, and wings so ethereally spread, she wondered what she was experiencing?
It was love, she had decided. And she could only hope he felt it too.
She, for one, had felt it many times.
Like when she washed his wings for the first time, an incredibly intimate memory she held. She had softly washed away all the dirt and grime, and he had felt comforted to the fullest extent. He had never had someone to help him with that before, and the extra assistance had embarrassed him at first, but now it had become second nature to the pair.
Or perhaps the times that fights in the ring had become too personal for Warren's seemingly stone cold heart to handle alone. The gravity of those he had killed, and the guilt that came from surviving off of it would routinely threaten to crack his confident exterior.
She would spend her time on those days (or more regularly, nights) allowing him to cry to her, to let his emotions break free.
She would never know how much it meant to him.
"Angel?"
He let out a grunt, his emerald eyes staying shut as he shook around his head on the pillow, trying to find a cold spot (as even with the open window, he never could seem to shake the burning sensation that dug deep through the fibers of his body down to his heart and soul).
"Don't ever let anyone touch your wings, alright?"
His eyes opened at that, curiosity getting the best of his sleepy brain that was begging him to just ask what she meant in the morning. But nonetheless he persisted.
"W'dya mean, sweet girl?"
She looked anywhere but his eyes, running fingers across the top of his left wing. He resisted the urge to giggle at the tickly feeling left behind, though she wouldn't have minded if he had let one of his musical laughs slip.
"I'm not quite sure, honestly."
He laughed, her heart fluttering at the sight of his smile.
"I guess," she took a pause, trying to better articulate what she had such a hard time putting into words.
"That mutants still aren't safe. And I don't want you to ever lose your wings. Y'know, have to hide them..." her voice wavered, and it was fairly obvious that not only what she said held more meaning, but that she still had more to say.
"And?" He asked, now fully awake with concern lacing his features. His head was tilted, eyes slanted, while hers was hung, looking to her fumbling hands.
"I just don't want you to get hurt, Warren."
At those words, his expression softened and his wings instinctively spread out to cover the both of them with a loud swoosh.
He pulled her to his bare chest, cradling her head in his arms.
"You have another vision?"
She nodded, her cries muffled, but her tears very much evident as they wet his ivory skin, leaving a shimmery sheen in their wake. “Warren, it was horrible," she cried, turmoil the only thing on her mind.
"Y-your wings were gone and replaced with, with some horrible metal."
"Well, did I at least look bad ass?" He smiles boyishly, and she only frowned and burrowed her head into his chest. His expression became neutral, an unreadable expression plastered on.
"Who did it?"
"I didn't get a name." She sniffles, sitting up and placing her hands on either side of herself. She closed her eyes and turned to the wall, beginning to recall all she could, even though it was the last thing she wanted to do.
"There's 4 other people-"
"Are you one of them?"
A beat passed, tensions in the cool air began to rise.
"No."
Then there was a sigh from Warren, and he wasn't sure if it was of relief or of a despicable anguish.
"That's him."
Her eyes flew open, her pupils dilating. He said her name, taking hold of both of her hands tightly as if his life depended on it. Which in all honesty, it felt like it did.
"Who is he?"
A single tear slipped down her cheek for her lover, for the world.
She was frozen, fear had infiltrated her completely, every cell, every vein, every muscle.
And thereupon, even Warren's wings couldn't make her feel safe from what was to soon come rain havoc on their lives.
Her voice was only a frightful whisper as she spoke, the usual captivating power it held totally absent. Despite that, there was no room for mistaking what she said, the word remaining completely clear as it fell past her lips.
"Apocalypse."
⚔⚔⚔

come over when ur sober | s. rintarou
Tumblr media
prologue: feelz
series warnings: excessive cursing, suna being a dick, sexual situations (not smut but yaknow,) reader being petty :)
~~~~
in her second year of college, our lovely main character has been spending the last year avoiding everyone’s favorite blank-faced dirtbag, suna rintarou. enemies since pre-k, this duo is closer to being friends than you might think. throughout the years, they’ve had their fair share of mutual friends and possibly.. compromising situations, but throughout it all, there was only one constant.
suna rintarou was a demon sent from hell, pulling on her pigtails and laughing in her face as soon as she moved across the street at 5 years old. her mom had labeled his antics as misplaced affection, but she knew better. he was a quiet kid, but he always had time to mock her behind the backs of his parents.
by the time highschool came around, he’d gotten quite good at wearing a blank, expressionless mask that hid what he’d actually been thinking. he was a despicable little shit, but he played the part well.
only his closest friends got to see how he really felt, often scowling as hatred bubbled in his throat. he hated everything about her, and she couldn’t say that the feeling wasn’t mutual. he hated how easily she could communicate with others. he hated her smile, and her laugh made him want to puke as she giggled at his flirtatious teammates.
basically, she was the worst. and to be honest, he wasn’t much better.
the tension was always cranked up to eleven as soon as they entered the same room, and suna’s piercing glares only lit the fire underneath her as she scowled back at him.
that was how it had always been, the hatred burned deep into their veins even after all that time. every attempt by their friends had been in vain, always bickering to fill up the empty silence of the room.
one night at the end of second year, the tension had been particularly suffocating as vodka singed her throat and her tight dress clung to her hips as atsumu whispered something in her ear.
glaring daggers from across the room, suna was beginning to lose his patience. ‘so much for the fucking bro code.’ he scoffed internally, cracking his knuckles between his fingers as he watched atsumu with a scowl as his hands began to wander.
trying to have sex with his best friend? was she being serious right now? another scoff left his mouth as he rose to his feet. any other night, he would’ve chosen to ignore the motivations of his fellow teammates, but that night was different.
what kind of friend would make advances on the person he hated the most? atsumu wasn’t the only offender, either. it was though she’d cast a spell upon his friends and family, showering her with affection regardless of anything he said. it was as though he was forever meant to orbit around her world, unable to escape no matter how much he complained.
his brain practically screamed to sit back down and not make a scene, but his legs had already brought him to her side as soon as atsumu turned around. grabbing her by the arm, he practically dragged her through the crowd of strangers as he pushed her into the nearest open door and turned the lock behind him.
“what the fuck is your problem?“ she sneered, but he couldn’t even hear her as his eyes raked over her body. his head began to spin as she watched him with a pointed glare.
‘when did she get so fucking hot-’
“hey, shitty bangs. why the fuck did you bring me in here?” pulled from his daze, he remembered his own intentions as anger began to pulse through his veins again.
“oh yeah, can you not try to fuck my friends? you’re getting real desperate here..” his characteristic smirk had made it’s way back onto his features, and she struggled not to slap him across the head as she took another step towards him.
“oh, yeah? i think you’re just jealous because i won’t fuck you-“
“shut the fuck up.” poison laced through his tone as he glared down at her, but she didn’t back down as his back came into contact with the wall.
“why don’t you make me, rintarou?” her words practically sliced through him, and his instincts took over as he pulled her around to replace his position on the wall.
“and what if i did?” his breath was hot on her ear, and she rolled her eyes when his hand met the wall next to her head.
“you don’t have the guts.”
after that night, the torment had only gotten worse. the comments exchanged were almost cruel, trying desperately to forget the drunken lust that consumed them in the moment. even as graduation loomed around the corner, they were constantly at each other's throats with no exceptions.
in the past, suna hadn’t always been the kindest. he was an ass, but his weakness had forced him to stoop to new lows as his friends probed him with questions about finally acting on the ‘blatant sexual tension’ that they’d claimed to have seen all along.
a simple white lie had ended up starting more problems than intended, ending in a screaming match between the two parties that ruined any sense of friendship that could’ve possibly been established.
but fate was a bitch, and attending the same college with your worst enemy wasn’t the most ideal. she’d made it through the first year with minimal trouble, but the peace couldn’t last forever.
maybe taking a comparative world literature course wasn’t a good idea after all..
Ranked: Mother of the Year (Choices) Main Characters
I can’t sleep so that means I need to make another list that I’m not going to proofread before I post, right? Of course it does. But before we start, please remember this is my opinion on who I liked best. Not who impacted the story the most, not who was the best written fictional character of all time, yada yada. This is my personal opinion of the characters I liked best.
Spoilers WILL be featured below. You have been warned.
#13 -- Tallulah Copeland
Tallulah is a parent to a child at Bernhardt Academy, a friend of Vanessa Blackwood, and an active member of the PTA. Hugo is her partner.
This woman. I would flat forget this woman existed until she would show up again just to wreak havoc on MC’s day, usually at someone else’s urging. Every single time she spoke, I just wanted it to be over and she is just an awful, AWFUL person. She’s also the only awful person in this book who never pretends to be nice and/or never apologizes for her actions. Just an all around nasty person.
#12 -- Hugo
Hugo is a parent of a child at Bernhardt Academy and an active member of the PTA. Tallulah is his significant other.
If you’re actually reading these little blurbs, you have to be wondering “MagnoliaPip? How in the hell is Hugo ranked lower than two other unmentionables in this story?”
Thank you for asking, no one ever.
Put frankly, Hugo just annoyed the crap out of me. I know that’s supposed to be part of his character, but it went above and beyond the scope of acceptable annoyance. I grew to hate every second he was speaking. He never really contributed anything to the plot other than some irritating drivel. He wasn’t an antagonist, but he also wasn’t a pleasing good guy. He’s also the reason I’m considering not re-reading this book again right away like I want to.
#11 -- Guy Ledford
This man. This. Man. THIS MAN!
This part is going to include major spoilers, y’all, so if you haven’t read it and are still intending to, skip away now!! Again, major spoilers from here on out kids.
Guy Ledford is your main character’s ex-husband who has been absent for four years since the start of the book and wants to reconnect with his daughter. He is also a CEO of a snack food company/app, Nomme. He is the main antagonist of the book.
The reason I didn’t rank him lower is he genuinely adds something to the plot. He IS the plot. He’s the reason this book exists. However, he is such a scumbag he deserves nothing. He feels like a trope for quite a lot of the time, but at least he’s not physically abusive like a true trope could have been (at least, I never noticed him being physically abusive). Just, you know, a gaslighting, manipulative, arrogant, rude, selfish son of a-
I also love that they named him “Guy”. I’ve only ever met one man named this in my life, so it’s funny to me that they named this jerk “Guy” so it’s not only the most generic sounding name (did his parents also get a dog named “Dog” and a cat named “Kitty”?), but also one that a lot of men won’t likely have so they don’t have to get name checked in relation to him.
I like that you can get a good outcome (Guy ends up with joint custody with visitations  every weekend and having to back pay) without spending diamonds in this game as long as you make the right choices, but for those who DID spend all of the diamonds, I would have liked to have seen Guy end up with worse. I would have liked to see, if you made most of the right choices and bought all of the diamond stuff, him ending up with every other weekend or maybe just visitation. I know he’s trying to be a good dad (but still an absolutely terrible human being), but every weekend seems like so much when your daughter is in school.
#10 -- Augustus Blackwood
August Blackwood is one of Vanessa Blackwood’s sons and is a student at Bernhardt Academy.
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this one. But he hurt my daughter and that’s enough. I would have liked to have seen him fleshed out a little bit more beyond being basically just a schoolyard bully. His motivations for his actions are hinted on, but nothing is really ever done and he’s mostly just a prop for something to hurt your daughter.
#9 -- Vanessa Blackwood
Vanessa Blackwood is the president of the PTA, a single mom, and a lawyer and becomes an antagonist to your character.
I’m probably going to get hate for this, but I want to like Vanessa. Obviously, she’s hateful and offensive, in some very, very unredeemable ways, but there’s something about characters like that which makes me want to forgive them and teach them how to be better. How to rehabilitate their bitterness. I felt it with Olivia Nevrakis, I felt it with Victoria Fontaine, and I know certain people in the fandom felt it with Becca Davenport and Poppy Min-Sinclair.
**DISCLAIMER** Keep in mind, I’m not trying to excuse homophobia and racism here. They are both despicable things and should be accounted for. However, after having grown up in a homophobic and racist home and learning to leave that shit in the dust by the time I was eighteen and SLOWLY teaching my family to do the same over the course of the last 10 years, I believe people can change if you give them room and help to. Not everyone will, not many people will, but I believe in giving the chance. We need to force people to take responsibility and learn from their mistakes. Should the book have been approved as a series rather than a stand alone, I think this might have been a very real option within book 2.
#8 -- Ajax “AJ” Blackwood
Ajax Blackwood is one of Vanessa Blackwood’s sons and a student at Bernhardt Academy.
AJ is the quieter of the Blackwood boys, AJ is a shy kid who hates that his brother is mean just as much as your daughter does. He finally has enough within the book and stands up to him, which was more than a little satisfying and he does seem to have a genuinely good heart. I think it would be so cute for him, your daughter, and Luz to be their own adorable trio of friends.
#7 -- Levi Schuler
Levi Schuler is your neighbor who helps save the day for MC early on in the book and becomes a friend to both her and your daughter. He is also one of your love interests.
And if this list is going to invoke hate from the masses, it will be this entry that does it. I know how loved Levi is. And I love him too! I just find him, and his musician plot, to be a bit tiring. He’s a wonderfully supportive friend/love interest, just about one of the nicest people, and he’s great with your daughter. I swear, all of the love interests in this book would be god tier in any book. It’s truly unfair to the others that we got three amazing ones here along with a great cast of characters. However, since that did happen, Levi will sit here at #7. He can have a consolatory rugelach while I continue on.
#6 -- Faye Devore
Faye Devore is your ex-husband’s new girlfriend, a younger social media influencer.
I loved Faye. Right from the start, I loved Faye. I prayed they weren’t going to make this into one of those books where we were supposed to hate the “other woman” because those plots are old, outdated, and overused. Thankfully, MOTY lets us skirt right around it and we end up with a wonderful character like Faye, who is the human definition of having the best intentions.
She gets on well with your daughter, even pointing out to MC at one point that she thinks of her like a little sister, and goes above and beyond to make her happy. She is genuinely upset about going against MC’s wishes about your daughter appearing on social media and doesn’t appear to want to cause any harm or hard feelings with MC at any point during the book. In fact, she wants to be friends.
I would have loved for this and for it to be fleshed out more, again, if we had ever gotten a book 2. I’m also that jerk who would have totally romanced her in a replay and would have emptied my wallet to get a scene in that hypothetical book 2 where Guy finds out. Take that homophobe!
#5 -- Dr. Eiko Matsunaga
Dr. Eiko Matsunaga is a science teacher who teaches at the private school your daughter goes to and becomes friendly with MC because of your daughter. She is also one of your love interests.
If I would have had a teacher like Dr. Matsunaga when I was in school, maybe I would have cared about science at any point during my childhood. Eiko is so incredibly smart but has a heart of gold. She could be off teaching at colleges or writing published journals, but she’s teaching elementary science at a private school and honestly enjoying herself! She wants to see children succeed and will give any child who wants to do so, like your daughter, all of the help they need.
I want to romance her. I want to be her friend. I want it all because I’m selfish even when I don’t because I could never possibly be worthy of the supremacy that is Eiko. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
#4 -- Your Daughter / Zoey
Your daughter is 9 years old at the start of the book and desperately wants to be an astronaut. She is a science whiz and moves from public school to Bernhardt Academy at the beginning of the book to kickstart her education.
It makes me so sad that I will never actually have this child. “Zoey” is just so smart and funny and sweet and I love her so much. I spent so many diamonds on her. She’s a pixelated little bundle of amazing and I would die for her. That’s it.
#3 -- Alma Velasco
Alma Velasco is your neighbor, best friend, and (for part of the time) co-worker.
What did our character do to deserve such an amazing ride-or-die friend like Alma? She never disbelieves MC, is forever supportive as a shoulder to cry on and a supplier of good wine, and also helps MC out of more than one pinch. Seriously an amazing friend, and I wish we could have done something equally amazing for her to reciprocate.
#2 -- Thomas Mendez
Thomas Mendez is a lawyer and a single dad who becomes friends with MC very early on in the book. He is also one of your three love interests.
A big reason for why Thomas is at #2 is because of who #1 is but we’ll get there in a second.
There’s also something about Thomas that speaks to me as a person. It’s more than just being interested as a love interest or as a friend. There’s something about who he is. His awkwardness, his humor, his kindness and his generosity all make him someone I envy as much as I admire.
He takes on MC’s case pro bono when he doesn’t have to. He shrugs it off like it’s no big deal, but stepping back and looking at the it, by all accounts he was walking into a handily losing situation. He was also super busy at this time being a single parent himself and working on his class action lawsuit. That’s not even saying anything about him still grieving for Soledad.
However, the biggest reason I love Mr. Mendez is...
#1 -- Luz Mendez
Luz Mendez is a student at Bernhardt Academy who becomes best friends with your daughter early in the book. She is a soccer and art fan.
This little girl is the best thing I have ever read in my entire life. She made the entire book. Every character that came before her pales in comparison to her majesty. She is a goddamn queen and deserves everything.
Every scene with her is gold and I wish we had more. This little girl was completely willing to curb stomp someone with her cleats at the courthouse if something would have happened to your daughter. She is so aggressively herself and it is a joy to see. The relationship between her and her father is what really kept me going through the book’s more difficult spots. There is such true love and acceptance there, as well as the drive and desire to do better for the other than I just...There is really no way for me to properly explain the perfection that is Luz Mendez so I guess you’ll just have to read it yourself.
---
I’m not sure why it took me so long to start reading Mother of the Year (MOTY), but I’m so glad I did. In 3 days flat I binged the entire book, wasted so many accumulated diamonds, and had the time of my life. The cast of characters in MOTY is perfect and I wanted to rank them according to my opinion on which ones were the best. I ranked all of the characters I found to be profound enough to matter to the storyline or that MC or “Daughter” had enough interactions with to matter. As a result, there are several characters who didn’t make this list.
Sound off below if you wish.
HyunJi: Visit
Soo Hyun hums as he punches in the security code of the door, pushing it open after the brief beep. The familiar scent of honey and vanilla fills his nose, making him erupt into a small smile.
The house was quiet as he entered, the cove lighting dim and warm-toned. The floor to ceiling glass windows reflected the lights from the city below. The silence doesn't bother him, he was used to it. It was always quiet in his girlfriend's abode, she enjoyed the tranquil serenity that comes with it.
The paper bag in his hand made soft noises that sounded louder in the vast space of her living room. Filming had been going on for quite a while, and it had been getting harder and harder to reach her every day. She had scenes back to back and a few ads to shoot in her spare time. That was the price of her growing popularity, the recognition he was terribly happy that she was getting.
She was a marvelous actress, excellent. Despite her prowess, she was fairly underrated and he hated it. He wanted people to see her beyond her elegant beauty, he wanted her to be seen by her undeniable talent. And now she was getting it, and it made him so proud of her. But along with that came fewer hours with her, fewer days to spend together.
Compared to the frequent visits and the well-planned secret dates here and there, this time he could even barely see her despite being in the same place every day. The only time he could see her was when they had scenes together. The fact that he had to corner her away on set to steal a few glances, a few touches, a few smiles made him fairly frustrated.
He used to have his girlfriend all to himself, and now he's sharing her with the entire world. He's not a selfish person, but when it comes to her, sometimes he wished he was.
This was one of the very few nights that they were both free. He doesn't waste the opportunity to buy her favorite meals to go, bringing it to her home to share with her.
"Hi, Manny!" He coos, squatting down to pat the dog's head, it's fur warm and soft to touch. It wags its tail, putting out its tongue as it welcomes the all too familiar visitor. Gone were the days when it used to bark at him endlessly, threatened of his presence, or probably even jealous that he'd take all of the attention. But now, they were best friends.
He chuckles as he stands up, making his way further into the living room, past the kitchen. He smiles widely at the sight of his woman sitting prettily on the couch, dressed in a light pink nightgown, her hair cascading elegantly over her shoulders.
"Yea Ji-ah!" He calls out to her in a joyful operatic voice, routinely skipping towards her with her a huge smile.
"Ya." Her low voice stops him in his tracks. It was chilling, cold. It almost sent shivers down his spine. When she looks at him, he shuddered, freezing him in his spot. Her eyes were sharp, lacking emotion altogether. Terrifying almost.
"You noisy little prick." His breath falters, shock starting to bloom all over him. He blinks once, twice, thrice. Trying to figure out what vile sin he had done to his girlfriend for him to get stabbed by the invisible daggers darted from her eyes.
It takes him a few seconds before he sights the script on her lap. Realization dawns over him, making himself let out a breath. Aaaah.
She had been rehearsing, which means his Yea Ji wasn't here tonight. Moon Young had paid a visit. That was the effect of her method acting. She had to be the character altogether, and sometimes it takes a while longer to let go of it. He understood that was what worked for her, and he could say she was doing a good job manifesting it.
He had been used to it as well. There were days when he visited only to find a timid Sang Mi sprawled on the living room floor. The other time it was the outspoken Hae Ji reading a book by yhe window. Tonight it was a very annoyed Ko Moon Young.
"Ko Moon Young, I didn't expect you would visit." He chuckled, the amusement in his voice ringing as she turned on his heel towards the kitchen counter. He knew she's still trying to snap out of it, so he prepared all the food quietly, bringing it over on the coffee table between them in the living room.
She quietly slides down from the couch into the warm carpet. She picks up her chopsticks and eats silently, chewing, and swallowing. He smiled watching her eat.
He had longed to hear her talk over dinner tonight, but by the looks of it, it wasn't going to be happening. He loved listening to her ramble about the most mundane things, her low pitched voice becoming music to his ears. The sultry, raspy tone of it making his heart come to a calm, bringing him serenity.
She was quiet, but he still enjoyed it. He was happy just by watching her eat, devouring everything in front of her. If there was one thing she and Moon Young had in common, it was the appetite. He had worried about her thin physique early in the relationship, but seeing the amount she manages to gobble down, he realized her eating dynamics had nothing to do with her figure. She was just natural beauty. Lucky him.
He made the kind effort if washing a few dishes, humming softly as the water gushes through the faucet. When he feels tiny arms wrap around his waist from the back, he smiles. He loved it when she did that.
"Is this Moon Young, or is my Yea Ji back?"
"I kicked Moon Young out. She tried to steal my boyfriend." He chuckles, turning the faucet off before he wipes his hands dry.
He wiggles in her hold, turning around so he was facing her. He lets out a smile, wrapping his arms around her small frame. She looks up at him with a smile, eyes curved into thin lines, and in an instant, he loses the capability to breathe. She continues to take his breath away, every single time.
He squeezes her tighter, pulling her impossibly closer.
"Did you enjoy the meal, hmm?" He tucks a few strands of hair behind her ear, marveling down at her. When she nods he smiles, cupping her small face in his large hand. When he leans in for a warm kiss she automatically closes her eyes, both of them smiling in between.
Her hands instinctively travel over his firm arms, around his nape, her fingers through his hair. He holds her tighter as if it was possible to have her any more closer. Their bodies were already pressed tightly against each other.
When he pulls back, he grins. He took pride in the idea that he was able to kiss her like this, hold her close. Touch her. Do things only others can imagine. He took pride in the fact that now she had freely allowed him to make her feel things, do things, to take the lead.
He couldn't forget that there was a time when even the slightest touch bothered her. Sent her blushing excessively, cowering under his stares and gentle brushes. He thought he was probably so despicable, she couldn't bear even the slightest intimacy.
But it wasn't him. It was her innocent values, blooming from her genuine wholesome perspectives of the world. He learned to ask for permission whenever he wanted to kiss her, to gradually inch his hand to hers so she doesn't get startled. It took her quite some time to get used to it until all the permissions became automatic. Instinctive.
He didn't need to work it out anymore. She could read it in the way he looked at her. And she learned to be confident around him as well. Initiating gentle touches, hugs, short kisses. They've come a long way, but she still had that innocence in her, the innocence he loved so much. He loved anything about her anyway.
"You stink." She mutters in a chuckle as she buries her head against his chest, inhaling his manly scent. He only laughs, swaying her side to side. She was the most honest person in the world, she was incapable of lying. So he really does stink.
"Hmm, really? I just came from the gym." She laughs.
"You should have showered." His laughter thunders, throwing his head back.
"I know. I was thinking I'd shower here instead. . . . . with you." She automatically unlinks her arms around him, playfully pushing his chest.
"Ande." She takes a step back, turning around with a laugh. It wasn't like she hated intimacy, she just can't help but feel uncontrollably shy. Even after all the nights they've spent together, she still couldn't help the warm blush that would creep up her cheeks.
He chuckles, holding on to her wrist to pull her back gently. He wraps her arms around her again, searching for her face. She couldn't look at him.
"Weh? It's not like I haven't seen y---" He gets cut off when she presses a hand against his mouth, sending both of them in light laughter.
"Stop it." She whines, furrowing her brows, pouting her lips.
"Stop what?" She lets out a gasp when he slightly lifts her up, setting her feet on top of his. He grins at her before he pulls her closer, pressing another kiss on her lips. He slowly walks them across the room, her feet on top of his, taking every step he was taking.
She held his arms tight, maintaining her balance as he leads her. She giggles in between the kiss.
"I know what you're trying to do."
He chuckles while he kisses her.
"Really? I'm just making my way to the shower." She shakes her head, smiling as she closed her eyes. Gone were the inhibitions when he starts to trail kisses on her jaw. She clears her throat at the growing heat that was starting to spread like wildfire all over her body. Her reaction to him was automatic.
A low moan erupts from the back of her throat when he trails hot, wet kisses down her long neck. She finally gives in to him as he makes his way inside the bedroom, straight to the bathroom. He was a little persistent than usual. He must've really missed her. But she couldn't deny it, he missed her too.
I see plenty of posts about Blue Lions eagerly waiting for the Dimileth shoe to drop. But I raise you this: Friendly Neighborhood Shipper Gatekeeper.
That’s right, our friend the Friendly Gatekeeper is the ultimate Dimileth shipper.
Gatekeeper learned early on how to read Byleth’s stoic face, and has been able to tell even the tiniest details in their mood, I’m talking “Oh no! Professor’s eyebrows are .02% lower than before! The Professor must be super upset about something!”
Gatekeeper is a Byleth savant! He speaks Byleth and is the a professional Byleth translator. He got his degree in five minutes because that’s all it took after meeting Byleth for him to decide that they’re obviously #BFFs5Ever
So OF COURSE he’s going to notice if the Professor is slowly catching feelings for anyone. He probably realizes even before Byleth and he doesn’t have even half the context. But, *gasp*, it’s forbidden. A teacher and their student? Oh noooooo, it was never meant to BE!
Note he probably doesn’t even know WHO Byleth has feelings for because he never leaves that dumb gate. He just knows that his bestest friend is going through FORBIDDEN LOVE! (He refuses to believe they’re in love with someone in faculty because he would have heard rumors by now).
This is cause for drastic action!
Gatekeeper takes a day off.
Yes! A day off from guarding the gate!
This is a matter of life and death! His best friend needs him Goddess damn it all! He needs to do reconnaissance! For the professor! He needs to find the fiend that stole their heart and find a flaw in them so Byleth can move on!
Note that Byleth doesn’t even realize they’re catching feelings yet.
So Gatekeeper spends the whole day spying, looking for the despicable scum that wooed their best friend with their willy willy seductive ways. He’s stalking the professor the whole day and being totally obvious about it. Sorry Gatekeeper, everyone knows you’re hiding behind that bush. Byleth is just a good friend and not letting anyone call you out.
The Blue Lions all think the Gatekeeper is stalking Byleth. Felix offers to duel him. Ingrid just advises that Byleth report him to Seteth. Byleth, knowing that’s their bro, just tells the students it’s no concern and goes to see what the heck is going on. To which Gatekeeper, caught, does the only thing a man in his position can do and bursts out the whole truth through his tears. Bawling about how he knows about this seductive seducer that been trying to claim their heart with their fiendish ways, and how he was worried, and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to the professor because it’s his duty as their BFF to make sure that their heart remains unbroken.
The Blue Lions are...flabbergasted to say the least.
Then it’s full on panic mode because WHAT? What seductive seducer? Who is trying to steal Byleth’s heart?
And Gatekeeper is all like, “That’s what I was trying to find out!”
And now Gatekeeper has a class of baby lions basically spun into a panic thinking that there’s another Sylvain going around trying to seduce Byleth, only they’re a fiend out to purposely break their heart or something.
They’re pretty livid about the idea.
Gatekeeper is escorted out of the class by a mildly confused Byleth who promises to spend the day “mending their broken heart” with the Gatekeeper, leaving behind a very confused class, a Sylvain who wants to snoop because “what the fuck”, and a mildly jealous Dimitri. The incident isn’t forgotten, per se, but it’s brushed off.
Cut to five years later.
By now Gatekeeper is much more protective of their friend, what with them having gone missing for five years. But he’s still able to read them like a book, and it’s only gotten easier with time and their growing emotions.
So it’s pretty easy to tell they’re head over heels.
He just doesn’t know with who.
But his friend is SAD.
SAD!
Who would dare make them SAD!!!!!!?!?!
It’s sin!
Be can’t take a day off to stop guarding like he used to, but he dang well keeps an eye open! He’s got them peeled, he’s watching everyone, he’s going to catch this fiendish fiend!
But whoever it is never shows up at the front gate with the professor. He just can’t seem to find them in the same room with them any other time either. And the professor is getting sadder and sadder, and even everything going well and having nothing to report is making them happy.
So Gatekeeper does the only thing he can.
He takes it upon himself to find someone else for the professor!
Now, love doesn’t just go away. It’s going to take some time to mend a broken heart, plant some seeds of romance, but he’s going to do it! In the name of friendship!
So he goes to the one person he thinks is as much Byleth’s friend as he is.
The Prince!
The professor spends a lot of time with him! And they’re always talking about them, and...and...
Oh.
Wow.
Gatekeeper is floored. Now it all makes sense! So much sense! The prince had been grumpy for months before that whole thing where he got better! Professor was always mentioning him! And..and..
Interrogation time!
So Gatekeeper, not a strong or powerful man, but filled with enough determination to fuel a Smash Competition, marches up to the Prince of Faerghus and just stares at him.
Poor Dimitri is so confused. He’s wondering what he did to piss off this guy, and if he accidentally killed his brother or something. He’s already moving to apologize, but Gatekeeper is already on him. Demanding to know his favorite foods, and color, and what does he finds romantic, and how he feels about dogs.
Dimitri is so fucking tired.
He’s so confused, but he just rolls with it because he’s newly on the atonement train and doesn’t wanna be an asshole, and figures this is just someone’s weird way of making sure he wasn’t going to kill everyone in the room and then himself.
Wanting to know his ideal date is strange though.
The convo actually takes a surprisingly heartwarming turn soon after though, when both men end up talking about Byleth and how much they mean to the both of them. Gatekeeper goes on about how Byleth is his best friend, and makes days guarding the gate seem like the most important job in the world, and Dimitri goes on about how without Byleth he’d still be lost. And suddenly they’re bonding over small things too, like chamomile tea, and lances, and fond memories they have of Garreg Mach. And, suddenly, Dimitri and Gatekeeper both have a new friend.
And Gatekeeper, after so long of Byleth friendship, has learned to notice when people are #Feeling and not noticing, and it’s pretty easy by the way Dimitri smiles when he says the professor’s name, and how he looks when he talks about them, and that tiny tiny smile that he’s pretty head over heels himself.
Gatekeeper quickly goes from over protective friend to rabid shipping fangirl watching their OTP on the fast track to becoming canon. He might squeal a bit when he gets back to his bunk that night. Every second of his life the next day is consumed by the mighty need to watch these two get married yesterday please.
His poor shipping heart can’t take it.
His eyes are on them whenever they walk by. He has to physically refrain from dying and mentioning how much they should kiss. He’s dying. Someone help this man.
He cries when they announce their engagement.
He gets to guard the wedding.
I know is still early as hell. But when mother's day come around, hopefully, my country will be out of quarentine. And I will be super busy.
So. I noticed that you all like a Chisaki who begrudily shows his emotions. So why not?
Btw, the character might be a bit OOc on this one. Sorry about that and stay safe.
Mother's day...
Tumblr media
His chest was enveloped by that tightness and bitter sweet sensation as he watched the outdoors, propagandas, and the worst, kids and other people celebrating on the fucking street with the person who brought them to this disgusting word.
Some had the luxury of having good parents right when born. Those spoiled bastards like the heroes surely didn't know what torture people had been through, more specifically the ones who didn't belonged to that word, the ones abandoned on the darkness... which hero would come to there anyway?
Heck, even in the fucking yakusa some had their parents who didn't treated them like shit.
To say the least. Father and Mother's day... wasn't a very found date of his.
He just had this eyes full of pure pain and not so great nostalgia. Memories of his past coming back like some type of torturous flash... the beating, the yelling... everything.
Pops did his best through the years to make some change of it. But with no success.
He walked past the door of his home, shoulders feeling like he was carrying the world on his back and head throbbing with a headache.
"You're back Kai!" A soft voice brought him back to reality as he merely gave a blank loook at his girlfriend, walling towards him with that smile.
He only nodded at her, not noticing her eyebrows furrowing in worry bit brushing it off as his usual attitude.
"I.. I'm going to go visit my mother for a bit." His heart seemed to sand at that, but his face didn't even twitched "If you want, you can come-"
"No." Simple and short was his answer, no harshness or annoyance on his tone, only... empytiness, lifting his gloved hand up and lowering after it with a sigh "Have a good day, careful when you come back...will you?" He said in a broken and flat tone as he walked past you.
Your worry only grew at seing that he didn't entered his office like usual, but the bedrock instead... you knew what this was all about, yet you couldn't stop over worrying about him..
You sighed as your phone buzzed, your mother worried why you were taking so long as you got out of the house with other plans in your head besides seing your mom...
~
His back rested on the mattress as his hollow gaze was directed at the windows and balcony of his room. Memories haunting him like some type of ghost or even demon that wouldn't just leave him alone.
The disgust on her face every fucking time she would look at him, him being beaten up by his biological father as she looked at her reports or clothes while he cried for her to help him.... after the incident of his father's death, her gaze towards him was absolutely the worst, not only she had that disgust, but at that time it was fear.
Like she was looking at the Devil itself at that time.
Did it cost so much to have one look of her with... care? Heck, no one asked to be born, especially him that by five or eight years of his life the only thing he wanted to was to dissapear.
He took a shuddering breath at remembering those nights where he manage to read books that weren't related about medical advances neither case of diseases... one kid's book he found on the street once and cleaned, it was childish and boring compared to the ones he had read, but he remember how it described the love of a mother towards her child.
He wanted that... was it so difficult? Was it so difficult for her to even spare at glance at him like the book itself described it? Was he so broken and disgusting that he wasn't deserved of a mother's genuine love?
Was it so difficult for her to treat him like her son? He remembered one time where at the age of six, he saw a kid on the hospital crying on their mother for just receiving a injection, seeking comfort on her... and when he came to touch the white overcoat of his own mother to catch her attention, the scowl she gave was enough for him to retreat back and stay on his corner.
He forgot how in his childhood days, he just wanted to know and feel like how it was being loved and what that word meant... he saw many parents hugging their childs and praising them, why he couldn't have that...?
Was something that bad for him to be born?
He stopped his train of thought when the door of his bedroom clicked. For a moment, he could care less at anyone who saw him that way, casual clothes as he had this broken look on his face, he could just order them to get out... but when he saw you with a bad on your hand, his body stiffen immediately.
"What are you doing in here?" I thought you were-" he started with a irritated tone of voice, praying that you didn't noticed his moment of weakness.
"I was. But I told her I would compensate on another day spending with her. I told my mom it was kinda of an 'emergency'." You smiled as you settled the tiny bug on the nightstand and frowned slightly at his his eyes, pink instead of the color white in them, but being the stubborn man he is, even with no one around, he refused to spare a single tear.
He sighed, eyes closing as he layed his head in the matress as he pointed with his palm while his free other glived hand pinched his covered nose.
"What is even this?"
You unwrapped it. One fo Kai's favorite pantries with a bit of berries on it. His sweet tooth was something so endearing for you that it made you smile purely only at him.
"I thought a little picked me up would do you some good." You cooed as he slowly opened one of his eyes and looked at what you brought. Immediately sighing, but still reaching for it.
"This will dirty the bedroom and you are the one cleaning after wards." He mumbled as he stared at the sweet on hjs hand enveloped by a napkin.
"Definitely. But will you complain about that 'I missed a spot' or something later, surely." Yoj let out a giggle but immediate stopped when you saw that you got no reaction of his. Only that he placed the sweet back on the box and returned it to the nightstand.
Ok. Serious. This shit was serious.
You sighed and walked around the bed to sit besides him, back resting on the mattress the same as him, watching him carefully.
Neber on your life you would think that you were gonna be so close yet so far from Chisaki. You were literally touching shoulders legs and shoulders with, and he didn't even scoffed or complain it about it! Yet, his mind was so stuck on whatever bad memory of his right now, that it made quite difficult to reach out for him.
Yet, you were persistent. Going for something that you knew that if anyone did that with him, they would be dead on the spot.
But not only were you brave, you knew he cared and allowed you to do it.
You sighed in hope, reaching out a gentle hand to cup his covered cheek and carresed gently. Earning only a look as if he was questioning you.
But before he could mutter one word, you slid your fingers to his ear and slowly took off his black mask, lips on that strict and straight line as his eyebrows furrowed at your actions, but he did nothing to stop you.
You holded his face gently before touching your lips in both of his cheeks and after his lips... he did nothing to stop you still.
Then you pushed his head to rest on your chest where your heart bumps could echo on his ears. His body once stiff relaxed a bit when he heard that sound which helped him to sleep.
Gentle fingers started to scratch carefully and caress his dark brow looks. The amount of love on your actions almost overwhelmed him if it wasn't for his hollow and numb estate of mind.
The voice of his mother echoed on his head along with your heart beat his jaw tighten as his arms came hesitantly to wrap around your waist.
"I'm sorry. I know you don't like this day, not even a bit." You whispered on his hair as you felt him blinking on your skin "But you wanna know something?... I have one, one only reason to thank that woman..." he arched his eyebrow at that, lifting himself from your chest to look down at you like you had grow not only a second, but a third head along.
Ever since he admitted, opened himself to talk about his past for you, your rage towards those two was almost, if not equal, to his own.
You touched forehead with him as you interlocked your fingers with his. Doing your best to put ever live you had towards this man in every word.
"I only have to thank her despicable existence, for making and bringing you on this world... my knight in shinning armor, my yakusa's boss." You sighed dreamily and pecked his lips once again "My devil."
When you opened your eyes the last thing you were expecting to see was his eyes tightly closed as his shoulders trembled.
You cooed an apology immediately, desperately in making up to him but he just let his face fall to your shoulder as he let out a muffled sob.
"Dammit (Y/n)..!" He whispered as he tried to control his breathing and how his heart was hammering against his chest, your fingers on his back, lips on his temple and sweet words only overwhelmed him in a way he hated, despise it to be.
A moment where all the walls he had built on his years of life complete fell...
You must have notice how he was still trying to hold back by the way you embraced him, whispering things that he swear was the reason for his break down.
"I love you, Chisaki Kai. And I always will... hou already protect me, so let me do the same?"
His face fell from your shoulders to your thighs and stomach, burring himself on them as he gripped in your waist like a life saver as he let out all the tears he needed to shed in his silent crying with only a few sobs here and there.
All the love he didn't know he needed and secretly craved ever since childhood, he was receiving right now as a young adult from his partner... how was that even possible? Him? Receiving such a divine thing from such a beautiful and sweet person like youserlf?
He didn't know for ling he cried in your stomach, opting to bury his face on it to hide his shame of acting like he was a weak midget again... savoring like a starved man at your sweet touches and whispers of love confessions and praises.
Who needed the love love of a project of a mother when he had such a beautiful angel like yourself to care for him?
He didn't count how long he stayed there, but he did remener that it wasn't nighttime when you had come back and entered you guys room.
He sighed shakily as his grip lessen only for a bit, getting half or one inch away from you so he could take a deep breath and come back again.
"She really didn't know what she lost." You suddenly said while carresing his dark brow hair as his embrace tighten "You just are the incarnation of perfection, dammit, how blind and dumb were they?"
He tsked and scoffed in your skin.
"Dramatic..." he spoke with a sore voice, gruffly and hoarse as he heard your giggles.
"I speak only the truth here!"
He slowly got up and locked his arms around your waist as he rested his chin on your shoulder and burried his face in your hair. His mysophobia completely forgotten as he enjoyed the love and care from someone that knew him, respect him.... loved him.
"Aw?" You cooed as you hugged his neck "Someone is in the cuddling mood?" He only scoffed and burried his face on your neck even more "I thought cuddling was, what the words you said again?" You stopped hugging his neck to mockingly poke your chin "Ah! 'Useless and disgusting-"
"Dammit woman, just hug me for once." He growled as he tighten his arms in your waist. His words making your heart melt, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside as your arms returned to his neck.
"I love you." You cooed, nuzzling your face on his own shoulder while he squeezed you tight as his response.
Some time passed with both of you locked in the arms of each other, the two of you agreeing to at least lay down until you remembered that you were still on casual clothes not sleeping ones.
Although when you tried to move he only grunted and tighten his embrace over you, face resting on the top of your head.
"Kai I have to change."
"... just five minutes and you go." He whispered lowly in the top of your head, sending shivers even to the tips of your toes.
You forgotten thhat once Kai was in this mood he bargained and refused to let you go. And him being almost in the verge of sleep no less? You were stuck. Amd you couldn't be more happy with that.
At least you brought peace to him on a day where his last came to haunt him.
B.F.F (Part 4)
Summary: Journey through the life of a girl whose heart belongs to her best friend, but he doesn’t feel the same way.
Words: 8k
Tumblr media
As planned, the dynamic duo managed to spend the entire day away from the other. No phone calls, no texting, no contact, no nothing. They were both summoned on their own activities, making everything right and doing their thing. No contact was needed, at least not at that time. The no communication line kept on pretty solid, to the point she thought she would not be hearing of the man until the next day, but just as it tends to happen, halfway through dinner time she got a message, a message that gave her the green light to come to his place whenever she could.
She couldn't say no to that. She was expecting it anyways.
For the whole day, babysitting her brother had been her one and only task. After dropping her best friend, she had fully dedicated her time to Joe, and like it usually happens, she starting by taking him to the baseball field, threw balls at him until their arms were tired enough and then went back home for lunch, where a big, warm and cozy pizza box was waiting for them. That’s how their whole day rolled, just another day where the two siblings were by themselves and just relaxing. Nap time came in and after the longest videogame battle she has ever been in with Joe, once they were going through those leftover pizza, Luke texted and as usual, she responded.
It only took her about twenty minutes and a bit of traffic to get to his place, but she got there, and now it was only about time until Joe grew accustomed to this new ambient.
She knew this place like the back of her hand, after all, she would come here almost everyday if she was bored. Most of the time, she would be hanging around the house with her friend, socializing a little and sharing with her favourite person, but in writing days, it was a little different, and now that she was with Joe, they had to deal with this new routine together.
There was so many people in the room it was overwhelming, however, finding a distraction wasn’t the hardest thing, because Joe would walk around the place and explore everything he could. This new place wasn’t completely familiar to him, but still he wasn’t a stranger to this ambient. He would often get distracted with things like getting caught by any of the guys and be asked questions, looking at the different actions figures around, play with the dog, curious around with instruments; she would almost dare to think this could be too much of a distraction for some people, but he was having fun, thought, she liked that.
Like it is usual on writing sessions, they tried to sit in the back, watching everything happen while she said nothing and saw everyone do their job with extreme concentration, and Joe would walk around and explored everything, discovering the world of music producing by himself and in first row. It was both interesting and boring, and surely after a good while, after listening them argue and make little pieces of tracks over and over, she ended up in one of this situations: drinking alone in Luke’s kitchen.
Some may say it is inappropriate for her to drink while she was babysitting, she said, a beer wouldn’t hurt anyone, so that’s exactly what she did.
While Joe seemed busy enough and established some sort of conversation with someone she didn’t know, she managed to sneak back and out of the studio room and walked herself to the kitchen, where all the good stuff was kept. It was only couple minutes she needed, it was just one of those times where disconnecting was needed; grabbing a drink before going back there was just too perfect.
She knew this place to well, it was only a matter of less than a minute for her to find the kitchen, where she decided she was completely feeling a shot of some hard liquor, something to level up her energy and drive her through the night, but still enough to not get her too crazy. She went for the fancy cabinet, grabbed on that mint liquor Luke always hid from her (in a very terrible way) and served herself a shot.
It was a quick drink. She held on the shot glass between her fingers and sat on the kitchen counter, staring at the green syrupy liquid on her fingers; she hasn’t drinked in a while, so it would be valid to say this felt meaningful.
Swallowing the liquid was pure relief; it was refreshing, but that burning sensation she loved so much still made a good presence, in her tongue it left a sweet taste and somehow a bit trippy. Her favorite flavour in an alcoholic beverage, she thought it was a gift from god, she would always be thankful for that, but she was even more thankful that Luke kept it stored on purpose. This was all the relax she needed. She closed her eyes in pleasure, breathed and exhaled.
She could use one more of those, but no-
“Why are you sitting on the counter? People eat here”
A loud voice said behind her, making her jump in surprise and almost drop the glass in her hands. She thought she was alone, everyone seemed too busy to come up there. Who dared to interrupt her peace?.
She could only wish this was not happening, because on her only moment of relaxation, the one person she disliked the most came to disturb. How pretty. “Hi to you too, asshole” she cynically smiled to Ashton, as she grabbed the cup steadily in her hand and left it aside.
Sometimes she just wished to know what was the trick for evicting him successfully every time they happened to be on the same place, which was pretty often, and that somehow she always seemed to fail, only to end up with a bitter taste in her mouth and the memory of sharing another moment with the most embittered person she has ever known. She knew very well he didn’t like her either, and the feeling was mutual, nothing has ever happened to them but it was just how it was, she had to live with it until destiny said it was enough.
Although, she didn’t feel like arguing today, all she wanted was for him to leave fast and leave her be, after all, she has been having a good day and didn’t wish to ruin it.
 “How's the writing going?” She asked, trying to be friendly and not seeming like she was going to start a fight.
Not that they ever start up fights, but pretty despicable and nasty comments were exchange in almost every encounter they had, that’s how much they despised each other.
It was probably a surprise for him that she even dared to speak to him without putting some kind of offensive adverb in the way, or maybe, he just felt caught by surprise with such a question, but once she left the words off her mouth, she saw his eyebrows being lifted up, glanced at her from the corner of his eye and made his way to the fridge, almost as if he only wanted to get what he needed done as soon as he could.  "Why do you care? Shouldn't you look after your kid or something?” He asked in a dry tone, putting his empty glass against the ice dispenser and getting some cubes out.
She gasped, this was just what always started their arguments, he just couldn’t for a second be nice, he always had to get some kind of sarcastic and mean comment out of his mouth. “Excuse me, he's not my kid, what are you saying?” she glanced at him, rolling her eyes “He’s my brother”
He let out one very dry laugh, shaking his head at her innocence. "I meant that you-” he started, but just before he could complete his phrase, he stopped, grabbed a can of cola and rolled his eyes “ugh whatever you wouldn't get it anyway."
Suddenly, she already felt tired of this. “Oh okay..” She shrugged, not feeling so much getting in much detail “I guess I tried to be nice but you're just one piece of an asshole”
Now that was just the kind of comment he was waiting for, because once she let it out, asides from the extreme relief she felt for letting that out of his chest, he gave her one sarcastic smile, already being done with the situation.
“thank you for reminding me, I didn't know that” he rolled his eyes, poured the content of the can on his glass and throwing the can away.
Her interest for maintaining a conversation with the man was more than minimal, she just opted for sitting where she was, lay back and wait for him to leave so she could have a second shot in peace, without him making some sort of comment. However, when  she thought the situation couldn’t indeed go to any bad place, she heard how in a small groan his lips mumbled something under his breath, tried to mask it with sigh and drank of his cup, acting like he hasn’t said anything, but she thought he said something, something that was directed to her. She would ignore it but she couldn’t let that pass, he was technically laughing at her. “What did you just call me?” She frowned, glancing at his direction directly. He gulped, his eyes widened in fake surprise as he said “I didn’t call you anything”. A fake laugh left her lips in disbelief “I think you did but ‘I wouldn’t get it’” she said, mocking his sarcastic tone and going back on her feet, taking one step on his direction, she challenged him “say again, loud and clear” “It’s whatever” he rolled his eyes, putting his cup aside and turning to face her “I’m just saying, if you’re bringing a kid to a writing session then at least go control him, if you’re going to be on the way like this then at least try not to bother-” “You’re the devil in Levi’s, Joe is hardly bothering any of you, he’s playing with Petunia and Calum decided to join him because he’s tired and you’ve been at this for hours” she immediately argued, not even letting him finish his sentence, half of his words were clear exaggeration. “And we still have work to do, now if you excuse me, I would be doing my job if you weren’t in my way” he raised his eyebrows, motioned her to move aside and continued his way out. She buffed. “You’re a rude fuck” she said, as he left, not being surprised in the slightest bit when he turned at her words. “Am I?” he laughed sarcastically. “Control your kid” he spat, glaring her with pure despise. “Jesus, you have zero heart over a kid” she said with anger in her voice “he likes being around, why do you always have to be so-” she struggled finding the right words to express herself “mean”.
He opted for responding, but the minute he opened his mouth, he closed it immediately. She wondered what was stopping him, but when she felt two hands grabbing her shoulders and making her jump in surprise for the second time of the day, she knew, she didn’t even need to turn around. “Oh uh, bad timing” Luke said from behind her, trying to act like nothing was happening and walking past her “There’s still beer, right?”
She hated to say it, but right now, he was her hero. “Yeah, same spot” she nodded and pointed at the fridge.
Luke made his way to the fridge, completely ignoring the situation while Ashton apparently couldn’t seem to stop looking at her, transmitting such a weird feeling to her she felt creeped out. A deep and tense silence took place in the room, and as Luke moved around his own kitchen and picked stuff around, none of them chose to say anything, they just wanted one of them to be the first to leave.
Luke appeared at her side with a smile on his face, acting like everything was completely fine and sliding his around her shoulder in a brotherly protective move.
She shivered with his touch. “One for you, one for me” he announced, sliding a beer swiftly into her hand, even when she didn’t ask for one, but she still took it. “Andy finished some stuff, he wants to save them, if you want to give a final verdict” He announced, looking at Ashton as he drank of the beer in his hand.
Now, that was Ashton’s call to leave, she was glad. “Okay” Ashton nooded, looking at both his friend and his nemesis as he walked backwards and left the room.
She felt very calmed from all sudden, watching him have no other choice than to leave was very satisfying and she would never get tired of that picture. That was what he got for being a douche, he deserves it. As Ashton left it was almost embarrassing how that very loud silence was maintained in the room. She watched him, walking out as if nothing happened and opening the door to that lead to the basement, his mood being more serious but at the same time, not so different from his regular self. He has acting like this because of her, but she couldn’t say she cared at all, he was an asshole and she didn’t have respect for assholes.
“You have a long face” Luke mentioned, clicking the top of his bottle against hers before taking a drink from it.
She just rolled her eyes, even when she thought she shouldn’t, it was a childish gesture she liked to avoid, but in these cases it was sort of a thing that came out naturally out of her. “I hate Ashton” she admitted “I just wish I knew why, why does he have to be so rude with me? I don’t get it” she groaned “I’m a good person, aren’t I?”
That question came out of her in a tone of real frustration of not knowing if the person she was to others was the same as she thought was the good kind of person. Maybe she was an asshole as well.
Luke looked at her like she was crazy.
“You’re the best” he said with a hint emotion in his voice. “And am I annoying? Am I actually in the way right now?” she kept asking “Wait, am I actually so annoying that even my presence bothers you?”
Even when she was being a little paranoid, he keep up his posture and showed her a smile that seemed comforting and real, it was real. He left his drink on the counter top of the kitchen, rested both hands on her shoulders and squeezed ever so slightly, a quiet sign for her to stop and relax.
“No” he murmured “I love having you around, it’s the best part of my day”
Looking up at him and trying to see honesty in his eyes was almost a stupid thing to do, because no matter what he’d always be honest with her and she knew that, he was not just saying things to make her feel better and let this be, he meant everything he said.
“Luke” she called his name, almost in a whine “I don’t know, I try to be likeable and he makes me feel like I’m just the worst, the fakest, the most-“ “That’s just him” he assured her, waving it off  “Ashton has a bit of a hard time with trusting people and all, don’t worry about it, he’s a good person though, I promise”
That was just the excuse he gave all of the time, he didn’t love seeing two of his best friends disliking each other this way, but that was the way things rolled, unfortunately; it’s been already around five or six years since she’d know them and he always despised her for no reason, that’s why Luke always made his best to not make anything worst and lead these situation with peace and calm, to a happy place that for them was totally unreal. “Yeah I know” she mumbled. It was needless to say this whole thing make her feel awkward. “And I love you, that makes up for the lack of appreciation on his behalf, right?” He smiled even more on her way. She looked up, grinned back and nodded. “Great!” he cheered, leaning in to kiss her forehead very softly.
That small gesture of him spiked her senses up to levels she could tone down, it was hard, but she did her best to mask how nervous it made her that he was so sweet with her out of nothing, he was just so charming, she couldn’t not love it.
Her right hand moved to hold her left wrist that carried the drink, to cover how shaky her hand was; she didn’t want him to see how nervous she has gotten in just a few seconds. Her best move to move out of this conversation without looking like a fool was very simple; she looked up at him, showed him a smile and moved in to him one quick hug, showing him that ‘she was alright and there was nothing to worry about’.
Only god knew how intense he would be if he even suspect she was somehow affected, and not precisely by Ashton’s situation. “I should probably get back to Joe before Petunia cracks his head” she announced, taking a step back from her best friend and showing him a small smile.
Luke gasped in fake outrage, acting as if it was anything new that his dog made someone fall over somewhere by chasing them. “Pet would never” he said, following her with his gaze as she moved around.
She nodded, went to step back and walk away, but right before she could leave the room, he grabbed her wrist, made her turn around and looked at him, his face now looking a bit more serious.
 “Are you staying the night?” he asked, now in more seriousness, looking for a real answer. For some reason, she blushed. “Can I?”
He rolled his eyes at her, a shameless move she would make sure to remind him later. It was childish and rude. “Is the sky blue?” he asked sarcastically, giving her wrist a soft squeeze “It’s rude to answer questions with questions, you fuck” she said in fake annoyance, rolling her eyes as well  “I am not sure, I drove all the way here in your car” she now answered with more seriousness, giving him a slight shrug. He nodded. “If you don’t want to stay I could give you a ride, maybe Michael, you’re on the way there” He offered, a kind smile spreading on his face.
One side of her said yes, but the other side was completely different, she wanted to maintain some distance between them and keep her from doing a stupid move she would regret, after all, she was at the very verge of going crazy, or that’s what she thought.
After getting that spot with the therapist for such a dumb reason, she was really questioning if it was worth being so close with him when she was having these kind of thoughts; if it was healthy for her to keep him around and let him be so touchy, being only one step away to take everything farther than ever and change it all. She didn’t know what to do, she didn’t want him away, but she didn’t want to torture herself either. She wished to move on. “I don’t know, I’ll think about it” she shrugged, giving him a small smile in response. “Alright” he mumbled, taking a small step, leaving a kiss on her forehead and walking past her way “just let me know before I finish this, just so I know if I should have a second one or not” That really made her laugh.
“You’re so responsable”
He laughed as well, him taking precautions just in case he had to drive her home was a step forward.
“Hey, I learn from the best, I have that little whisperer who tells me when I’m doing bad, I’m really starting to learn shit” he says, winking her way as he reached for the door that lead to his basement “I have to go back but, see you” he waved.
She waved back awkwardly “see you”.
And then he disappeared from her sight, leaving her, once again, alone.
She decided to one way or another distance herself from the situation, trying her very best to not think much about anything and focus on the present, because in some way, she felt like that would be the cure for her pain. She called her brother in and moved to another room of the house, somewhere where they could be alone without bothering anyone and just chill, until everyone decided to go and she felt better. Sometimes when she overworked her mind about Luke, a break would do exactly what she needed to get her mind working again.
So after a long while of isolating themselves in the giant house and laying down in Luke’s mancave, she felt like watching Joe play with Luke’s dog over and over again was starting to become sort of healing for her. She only sat there and watched, making sure her little brother wouldn’t get hurt while playing, but she had fun at it, and after a while of seeing the same picture happening in front of her eyes, she just... forgot about everything.
“Is she prwegnant?” Joe asked, rubbing Petunia’s belly back and forth, once she was finally laid down after running around for a while. “No, she’s just chubby” she answered “if she was pregnant she would be tired all the time, don’t you think?” she asked, trying to encourage the kid into thinking a little more.
He looks at the big dog, puts his little hand on her belly again and rubbing, reflecting on his answer as he petted the dog. “I think she’s pwregnant” he stated, laying on the floor beside her and looking at the ceiling “Can we have a puppy?” She laughed.
 “We already have a puppy, silly” she said, poking his side.
She wasn’t lying though, they did had a dog in their house, a little French bulldog that was already too old but far too active for her age. She loved her. “But she’s old and I don’t think she can last much in the jungle, Stella is always sleepy” Joe argued, a frown starting to form on his forehead. She frowned too, not being sure if she even heard him right.
“Jungle?” she asked, looking over at the kid.  He shrugged. “I want to live in the jungle”
She thought about questioning him for a second, but after all he was just a kid daydreaming. He did this a lot, think about something overly random and telling her to see what she thought, with a little bit of luck they might make it happen, but in most cases, everything was too unreal to even think about. He was just a kid, so she let him reflect on that himself, discover that the world was a little bit more complex than he thought.
“Joe, you can’t live in the jungle, only animals live in the jungle” she told him, just to put it out there, let him figure out that his wish was impossible.
“Says who?” he asks sassily, rolling his eyes at her.
She gasped.
Where did he even learn to do that?
“Everyone!” she exclaimed, squishing his tummy with her hand playfully and watching him squirm around. “Since when do you even want to live there?”
He laughed loudly, moved around trying to escape her tickles and give her some in return, but he was failing. He got up on his feet, making Petunia do that as well and start to get hyper. She was expecting him to start running and completely ignore her question, instead, he stood up in front of her, arms crossed over himself and looking completely outraged.
“I can live in the jungle” he said, completely serious “I watched this movie, there was a guy that lived there and he fought with monkeys and he lived on a tree and he- and he-“
He was suddenly cut off, by the big dog sniffing on his feet and starting to sniff him all over, moving over to try jumping over him and play.
“Stop, Pet” he laughed, taking a step back, but just giving up at the end and laying on the floor. Giving in to Petunia to mess with him.
She thought it was hilarious. A giant dog being her brother's best playmate at the moment, licking his face all over as he squirmed around, and getting even more excited as she kept going. She grabbed Petunia and move her aside a little, keeping her from squishing Joe, part of her almost expected him to be already whining at the heavy load that just went over him, but instead, she found the biggest smile on his face, and she laughed too, because watching her little brother smile was the best thing she could ask for.
“She kissed-attacked you” she giggled, offering Joe a hand and helping him get up. “You okay, bud? Do you want to watch a movie? I think we should” she suggested, knowing it was almost past his bedtime and he should be getting tired by now.
Joe sighed and nodded his head. She got up from the floor and grabbed his hand, making their way to Luke’s guest bedroom didn’t seem like a bad idea, after all, it was the most private place they could possibly find in that giant house.
“Okay but, one queshtion” he mumbled, following her lead “Can you tell daddy about the jungle thingy?”
A giggle came out of her “The jungle thingy?” she reflected “Right. You know what he’ll say, something along the lines of ‘that’s ridiculous, what’s next? do you want to swim in a shark tank’” she mocked.
A pretty good impression of her dad, she must say.
“Cool” Joe mumbled.
“Not happening”
She made her way to the hallway and once they reached the guest bedroom, she peeked inside, for some reason she always had the feeling someone else might be in there, and she did not wanted to create or be into any uncomfortable situations. Luckily, it was all clear. She let the dog enter first and opening up the door to Joe.
“Can you at least ask him if you could have one more puppy?” he says in a begging tone, hoping she would be the one to make something happen.
The way he crossed his fingers and looked up at her with hopeful eyes made her see once more how adorable he would be sometimes.
She didn’t answer right away. She leaned down and kissed his head, ruffing his hair playfully and nodding him to get inside.
“Don’t grow up, Joe” she told him, giving him a warm smile.
If there was something she needed right now, was something that reminded her how many beautiful things she had in her life, and her little brother was one of them. She was the luckiest to have him, and moments like these, little conversations that she would remember...Those were the ones she appreciated the most. She didn’t want them to ever end.
For the couple hours they were left alone, she focused on playing any good quality movie that caught Joe’s attention, and they laid on the bed shoulder to shoulder, watching the film and focusing on each other’s company. If they really thought about it, this was like any other weekend they’ve had together at her apartment.
Hours passed unnoticed, a movie and a half went by and the lights around them were now softer than usual. Joe was asleep and she was alone, not really having the most energy and sort of enjoying the quietness around the room. The peace of mind she had was so deep, that it was hard for her to notice when the door of the room opened, and suddenly, it was not just her anymore, now she had company.
Luke walked into the room looking both drained and fresh at the same time, she didn’t even know how he did that. Without saying much he nodded to his front and kept walking straight, going straight on the balconies direction and opening the door for himself, making his way in and disappearing before her eyes.
He didn’t need to say anything, she slipped off the bed with a gracious move to not wake Joe up and walk after her best friend.
Once out, it was just to be expected that she would find him sitting on his usual seat, watching the view and feeling the fresh air hitting his pale skin. This was his time for relaxation and he couldn’t let her out of it, sometimes he just needed a little bit of her presence to make his day feel complete, and it was the same thing for her.
He made her feel complete… if he only knew that.
“Where is everyone?” She asked, once she stepped outside, and took a sit right next to him.
“Leaving, we’re done for the night and we’re all tired” He explained, taking a sip of beer as he nodded towards the small table in front of him “I hope you’re hungry” he said “I got some cheese and these are chicken nuggets, couple of pizza slices  if you wanna go a little crazy” he said, pointing at everything “also this chilli sticks, they’re not half as bad” he shrugged “Gosh, I’m hungry” “I thought you hated chilli” she questioned, reaching out to grab one of them. He chuckled “Why?” She smiled and shrugged “Oh well, remember that time when you started bragging about eating the hottest sauce ever known to man-“ “-and then your mom gave me those tacos?” he completed almost immediately. She nodded. “It plays every night like a movie in my head” “It was your fault though, you can’t stand spicy, you shouldn’t brag about it” She laughed, shaking her head at his statement. “No, no no, I can stand spicy, but my kind of spicy is not your kind of spicy” He justifies himself. “My mom thought you’d like it” She could only mention, because after such a statement it was expected that her mother would offer him that. “I did, but I was like- sweating” he explained, looking at her with a surprised face. “You were crying, sir” she argued “that’s what I’m saying, you hate chilli” “I don’t hate it, it tastes good, we just need to get along, have a few dates”
She nodded.
“Not cry in the process” she teased, pushing him lightly.
Luke gasped, just as she had just insulted him in his face.
“Oh hush, Miss. I can stand tequila like a champ” he stated, grabbing a stick for himself and taking a bite. She gasped as well. “Hey! that’s different” “No it is not, you were two shots down and stumbling on your feet” he laughed, as he returned the soft push on her arm  “Lightweight” “Stop” she shook her head, if he kept going, it would be a real embarrassment for her.
There was a silence between them, a comfortable one that gave her some time to let that memory sink. The memories she had with him were plenty, and also still counting. She hoped these never ended, she had fun with them, especially when looking back, those really warmed her heart for good.
“Gosh, I can’t believe you brought that up” she sighed, smiling “it’s been like what? Two years? From just that?” she asked, now feeling curious. He sighed “Roughly” he admitted, thinking about it  “Yeah” “Crazy” She mumbled.
It was really something that felt surreal in some ways; how long they’ve known each other, all of the things they have lived together, how they are able to now look back and laugh about it, it’s been so long, their friendship is so deep, this is something that now was going to live in her heart for a long time and never letting go.
The craziest thing of all, it’s how different they are in everything, but somehow, they get along like no other. “How was your day, tell me about it?” he asked, leaning on his seat comfortably and looking at the sky, clearly trying to relax a little.
“How was yours, Mr. famous?” she returned the question, imitating his movements and leaning back.
“You first, we’ve hardly talked, I want to hear how you’re doing, lady” He teased, looking back at her and winking.
How cute is he? She thought. She shrugged. “Not much” she said, not really knowing where to start “We played baseball, went for ice cream, had some pizza at home, he chased your dog for like two hours, and then I put that movie on, it’s like a lullaby to him” she laughed to herself.
It’s been a very active day for both of them, she didn’t usually had days like this, but when it came to her little brother, she would do this every day if she had to, she loved spending time with him.
“Are you tired?” he asked, looking back at her.
She shook her head “Not really” she mumbled “Are you?”
He smiled “Just a bit” he said, in a small mumble.
He seemed to tense up. She could see he was completely drained, his job could sometimes be heavy on him, but he loved it, he wouldn’t let it get in his head to the point of stressing him out, he just got tired sometimes, and this is one of those times, he just needed some time to relax from all the fuss he had to deal with earlier.
He closed his eyes, took a couple of seconds to take a breather and then looked at his surroundings, he was looking for something, she just had no clue why he suddenly had the necessity of something when just a second ago he was trying to relax. He looked behind him, right at the corner at the very back of the balcony, laying his eyes straight on that black acoustic guitar he’s had since forever, she guessed that was what was left for him, because his eyes glowed when seeing it, and a smile started spreading on his face.
 “Yo, look, Stacy!” he laughed, reaching back and grabbing it with ease  “What are you doing there?” He asked the object, like it could speak.
She rolled her eyes. The appreciation Luke had for that guitar was almost unrealistic, it’s been with him for so long, she would even dare to say it has become his personal instrument of choice, wherever he went inside of the house, it went with him. Wherever it was, it meant he was home, it made him feel home.
“I moved her” she confessed “how many times have I told you to not leave your guitar here?” She laughed, shaking her head as he laid the object on his lap.
“What's wrong with that?” He asked, frowning a little bit and acting completely dumbfounded.
Her eyebrows raised at that answer.
It was not her place to now explain how gravity worked, but she has always been sure that if he left small and medium objects just around the balcony, they would most likely fall and break. Just like it has happened in various occasions, he just seemed to never learn from that and always do the same thing. She was tired of telling him.
“You leave everything here and I assure you, it will fall out of the balcony” she explained one more time, completely repeating herself, because she has said that a thousand times before.
“Mimimi” he mocked, playing dumb melodies with his fingers.
She gasped “I’m serious, that thing costs like ten thousand dollars” she argued, shaking her head
“why?”
He shrugged, like it was completely obvious why he would keep his favourite guitar in such a place, and the reason would probably be the same dumb statement he always had. She could say, it was completely nonsense, but if he was going to keep insisting on that, then she would let him think that, just until it fell down the balcony, just like she predicted.
“It’s not too cold out here, nor it is too hot” he started  “the bathroom is a couple steps away, these chairs are a dream” he kept explaining “it’s quite, it’s… just me, and you, obviously” he says as he laid back and let go.
Those last words made her smile, it was nice that he included him into something he loved to do on the daily and took his stress away. As silly as it was, she thought it was quite adorable, and maybe if it could end wrong because of his habits, the fact that he liked that place that much was adorable for her.
He struggled a little, as he moved his fingers over the strings with tremendous skill, trying to find some kind of melody to fill in the silence of the night. It was one rhythm, then another… then he changed to another one, but at the end, he just slowed it down, looked up at the sky, and started playing the first thing that came to mind.
Oddly enough, she knew the song better than anyone.
“That’s nice” she mumbled, listening to the soft melody very carefully “That’s really nice”
He hummed, continuing playing that melody and trying to remember the notes in order, putting them in a way that made sense and sounded good for both of them. It was amazing how he managed to create such nice ambient I’m just a couple minutes, she could almost feel how the tension left her body and let go with the music.
Luke chuckled, at the sight of her, relaxing and closing her eyes, he liked that. He liked that she felt something in response of his music.
“You know it” he said to her, nodding her way “C'mon, go ahead”
It was almost incredibly how little he said, but how much she understood just from that. “No, no way” she chuckled nervously  “Joe is asleep, no” she shook her head, feeling like acting like the adult in the room. “So?” He asked, shrugging. Suddenly his hands stopped playing and now he was facing her way, trying to speak seriously.  “He wouldn’t wake up if the would was falling out the window, you know that” he clarified “For me? I don’t know the lyrics”
Why did he had to say it that way?
Her body shivered a little, her cheeks turned red and she was suddenly fidgeting under the sleeves of her sweater. She was not going to sing in front of him.
“I sound bad” she excused herself, laying back in her seat. “No you don’t” he argues “it’s cute” he stated, directing a very nice and soft smile at her and winking.  “I’ll start over, you go”
It was almost like he was commanding her what to do.
Without saying anything else, he just started playing. The melody soft and heartwarming, and he was absolutely nailing every single note, it was like he has been playing it all of his life and not only a couple of times, the melody was just like the original.
She shifted on her sit uncomfortably, clearing her voice and trying to remember the first few phrases to continue with the rest. The truth is, she was so nervous he was making her do this, that she felt sort of scared to mess up and have him laugh, but a few mumbled words wouldn’t hurt anybody, and after all… it’s her favorite song.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river, and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know...
He looked very committed into carrying with the melody and sound that it was almost as if he was trapped in his own little world. A small frown forming on his forehead as he kept playing, and she thought it was adorable, she almost wanted to be able to smooth it out and see his face be a little more peaceful. But something else was of, and it wasn’t that, it was something else...
  “Sing with me!” she said, over that pause in the song, reaching out and ruffling his hair a bit. He laugh, not stopping for a minute and still carrying on with the melody. “I don’t know the lyrics” he excused, shaking his head.
“Bullshit” she started, shaking her head.
She just kept singing, looking at him with eyes full of expectancy and waiting for him to join her at any moment, as the song kept going and his best friend was just looking for a bit of company from someone who actually knew what to sing.
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
His voice joining in comes as a surprise for her, she was almost so surprised she had to stop for a full second for him to finish the phrase, but she managed to join him right away. She felt inspired now, he always inspired her.
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go?
Somewhere only we know
Those two voices harmonized better than she would have ever expected and it was a pleasant surprise. His fingers skillfully moved up and down the string of his guitar, while they both muttered the last few phrases of the song, he looked at her. He really looked into her, and with a quite single, they both coordinated to perfection and with that, the last bit of the song was harmonized with total perfection.
Somewhere only we know....
It was really like hearing angels sing, she thought, he had a voice that made her believe angels really has an incredibly beautiful voice.
“Yeah!” he exclaimed, raising a hand in the air and giving her an energetic high five “We got the touch” he laughed; holding her hand in place and mumbling “you don’t sing often, that breaks my heart”
She laughed at his statement, because she was almost completely sure it was only another one of his many exaggerations.
“I’m not that good” she shrugged  “unlike someone” she said, winking at his direction.
“Uh Huh” he rolled his eyes heavily  “Don't underestimate yourself, you’re amazing and the best ever” he said, moving his hand from her and poking her forehead.
She almost felt like he was repeating himself. He would do this a lot, hype her up for no reason when she was being negative, as an attempt to cheer her up, but now it felt more like it was just him. Making a big deal out of everything and putting things higher than they should be.
“I feel like you overestimate me” she admitted, giggling a little.
His brows raised up high “You bet” he said, nodding  “someday I’ll have your picture hanged and it’ll say on somewhere underneath ‘the most talented and kind soul in this earth, thanks for not letting me down stupidly’”
And there it was, just what she was referring to…he hyped her way too much.
“Fair enough” she nodded, deciding not to make another comment about it. Being under the highlight was weird for her.
She laid on the chair, getting comfortable now that she was getting in the mood. Right when she was about to grab one of those chicken nuggets, that were oddly calling her name, an odd sound came out of nowhere, something she wasn’t expecting to hear so early in the night, but it was happening, and if she was honest, it was very surprising.
 “Was that a yawn?” She asked, being completely taking by surprise at that moment.
The moment she turned to him, he was holding a hand up to his mouth and almost immediately moving Stacy into her usual spot and sitting up straight. He was exhausted, it was more than evident.
“I think I am done for the night” he announced, getting up from his chair and looking down at her “Should we go?” he suggested, holding a hand out to her as an invitation.
She frowned a little, she knew what that meant and she wasn’t sure if it was right for her, her mental state and personal space. Not that it was weird by now, but the fact he was just putting it out there… for her didn’t feel right.
“You want to sleep with me?” she asked unsure “Like, on the same bed?”
He shrugged, clearly not seeing the big deal out of it. Obviously because he didn’t see it on the same level as her, not even on the same perception, for him, it was the most regular thing in the world.
“Yes” he said “we do it all the time”
She smiled up at him, it was really sweet of him to want her to spend the night along with him, in a total friendly way, but she just didn’t feel like it was the right thing to do. There was a lot going through her mind, she didn’t need another trigger for getting new and pointless ideas.
“I don’t think I want to leave Joe alone” she excused, scrunching her nose a little “he’s scared of the dark, I wouldn’t like him to wake up alone”
And she wasn’t lying at all. It could be kind of messy to leave Joe sleeping by himself and have him wake up in an unfamiliar place, alone. Not like he didn’t know the house already, but sometimes he could become very disoriented when just waking up, and seeing he was just a kid, she would most rather stay by his side.
“That’s fine” he nodded, not minding about it at all  “Goodnight then” he mumbled, walking past her, and as he leaned down to kiss her head he mumbles a quiet “I love you”
Something not as unusual between them, but still, that same rush of electricity ran through her spine.
“Love you too, Goodnight” she smiled up at him nervously, getting up from her chair herself and walking inside the room, calling it a night and trying to already forget about the little things that made such an effect on her.
That night, the thoughts on her head were louder every time.
The fact that they were so close already, everything they did now seemed like they were only a step away from becoming something else, that was getting in her head a little more every time, and right now, it was starting to make her frustrated at life in general. One part of her thought it was unfair, for many reasons; another part of her thought it was immature, and that was sort of obvious; but even when she tried to get a grip on it and control it, she felt that at this point in her life, this was something she just couldn't control by herself.
It was definitive, she was going to get help, no seconds thoughts, no anything.
She needed to wipe all those crazy thoughts out of her head.
Summary:  After centuries together, an unexpected astronomical event occurs that causes the Earth to slowly be absorbed by the Sun. As the end of the world draws near, Dracula and Agatha spend their final moments together. Embracing their love in an otherwise chaotic conclusion. *Warning: Major Character Deaths*
Rating: T (M is if I choose to release the alternate ending)
Ship: Dracula/Agatha Status: Complete
Read on FFN and AO3
A/N:  This is a rather dark, but romantic one shot. Yes, I know the sun wouldn’t do this, but for story purposes and how the Sun played an important role in Dracula, it seemed fitting. I hope you guys like it (or find some sort of appreciation since, well, two major character deaths). Might consider releasing the M rated ending that goes along with the picture above. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Enjoy! -Jen
                                        When We Collide
In reality, something was bound to happen eventually. As the years wore on, the planet had become more and more of a wasteland punished by mankind. Overpopulation. Pollution poisoning the very air needed to flourish. The sands of time had been emptying away for decades. Centuries. The only surprise was how quickly everything came crashing down.
Agatha carefully examined every dress hanging from the rack in her closet. Her eyes studied them, feeling the fabric between her fingers. Humming a nameless tone, she finally decided upon a dusty blue summer dress. It felt fitting all things considered. A smile graced her features as she took it down and began to change.
Colonizing on other planets had been a failed task. For a few decades, a select few had been sent to live on Mars. But the experiment only lasted for so long before the leaders of the world and scientific communities pulled the metaphorical plug. Earth proved to be the only habitable planet. A place that too soon would be just as lifeless.
She decided to leave her hair down that day. Usually how she always wore it. No silly updos or complicated styles. Just normal. How she liked it. How Dracula liked it. Smoothing out the creases on her dress, the former nun exited the room, closing the door one last time.
The television was on in the living room programmed to the news. Her eyes flickered briefly to the screen, taking in the images of panic broad-casted across it. Even with less than twenty four hours left, some people still seemed to have hopes of escaping. Hiding. While others just wanted nothing more to add to the mayhem and disorder. She turned back around, paying no mind to it as the sound of footsteps pulled her attention away from the distorted screams.
"You look utterly exquisite."
Dracula smiled broadly as he strode over and took her hand in his. She was unable to suppress a small chuckle when he brought it to his lips and kissed the top gently. How gentlemanly of him. Letting her arm fall back to her side, she looked her husband over. Well-groomed, as he always was. For a moment, a wave of sadness fluttered in her still heart as she gazed into his dark eyes. Even though she'd known him so well for centuries, she couldn't bear the idea of being apart. But she quickly pushed past that, not wanting to upset him too.
"You look quite presentable yourself." And she pressed a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth. "Always have a way with cleaning up nicely."
The Count smiled before a flash of recognition crossed his features. "Oh, I got you a little something." Agatha watched as he hurried back into the kitchen only to return with a bouquet of fabric lilacs. "I know they aren't the real thing," he admitted as she took them. "But you can't find live flowers nowadays."
"They're beautiful," she smiled. "Thank you."
Dracula walked over and turned off the television just as the sounds of gunfire and screams vibrated through the speakers. He made his way back over to her, reaching down to interlock his fingers with her free hand. She felt his cool skin against the rising heat of their very home. The hot temperatures didn't bother either of them. Their flesh void of blisters and burns. A vampiric perk.
"I was doing some deep thinking this morning," Dracula began. "About where we should go? I thought about the shore, but it'll most likely be crowded. People are throwing parties. An interesting way to celebrate the end."
"I've never been one for parties." She admitted, squeezing his hand. "Where else?"
"The old abbey is out of the question for obvious reasons." He glanced down at the watch on his wrist-a gift from Agatha from years ago. "Fylingdales Moor in Scarborough? It'll be a walk, but we have all the time in the world." The vampire snorted at his morbid joke. "What do you say?"
Agatha pondered his words before giving him a smile. "It's a good thing I have my walking shoes then."
When the word broke out about what was happening, the media ate it up alive. Theories. Conspiracies. Not a place, person, or thing was safe from being blamed. In the end, no one knew exactly why it was happening. Why the very star that provided so much for life was now about to extinguish it all. The outcome was simple, the Sun was absorbing the Earth at record speed. As it turned out, the damned thing was really deadly to vampires after all. Oh the irony of it.
The earth and its vegetation surrounding the little manor Dracula had built for the two of them had grown brown and dusty. As the sun's rays drew closer, everything had begun to wilt away. Agatha tried not to look at her garden, at the ruined flower beds she'd put so much effort into. Even the vegetables she'd tended to-all of the produce she gave away for free at the farmer's market-gone.
"You always had the prettiest roses," Dracula said, breaking the silence. "I don't care what the judges at the festival said. You should've let me take out Mrs. Robertson when I had the chance."
"Murder is not the answer when winning a competition." His wife stated, rolling her eyes. "Besides, she was old. I would've had an eternity to beat another."
Dracula visibly flinched and Agatha felt a pang of guilt. He had, after all, promised her the world. Enteral life. Immortality. And yet, she felt truly fulfilled. Her experiences, her memories, how she treasured them. It was for those reasons she was at peace with what was coming. Agatha only wished Dracula felt the same.
"Dracula," she began. "I think we should talk…"
"No," the vampire said abruptly. "We agreed that today was going to be a good day. Let's not ruin it with such discussions." Agatha sighed in defeat as the man pulled her along. "Remember our trip to Sweden?"
"You mean the one where I refused to let you feed off an innocent Swedish man and thus you were unable to successfully pick up the language?" She smirked at the memory. "If I recall correctly, I believe you called our innkeeper a 'rotten potato'."
"You're lucky he didn't kick us out," Dracula remarked. "We would've been forced to sleep on a pile of rotten potatoes then." He couldn't help but smile at the sound of Agatha's laugh. "Quite frankly, I don't know how I've managed to put up with you for so long. You can be quite domineering you know."
"If it weren't for me, you've been lost a long time ago," she countered. "You're lucky to have me around, Count Dracula."
He met her eyes, his mouth curving into a genuine grin. "I suppose I can't argue with that."
Besides the sound of their footsteps, the environment around them was quiet. Many of the animals had succumbed to rising climate change. As water sources dried up, the creatures that depended on them died too. Agatha distinctly recalled walking by Whitby beach one afternoon to find that much of the shore had been covered with decaying fish carcasses. The smell was almost so unbearable that her stomach lurched. There weren't any visitors that day, or even the week that followed.
"We really should have reconsidered going back to Transylvania," Dracula stated, breaking the silence. "It would've been nice to see the castle again. Or even Hungary?"
"Yes, because we had the greatest time in Budapest." Agatha replied, giving him a look. "No, England has been our home for so long. It seems fitting that we stayed here. It's nostalgic."
"You and your sentimental nature," he husband scoffed. "Sometimes I wonder if you reverted back into your human form."
"And would you still love me if I had?" She questioned, studied his face carefully. "If I was human?"
"Even if you put a stake to my chest and called me a despicable beast-which, I might have, you've done in the past, I would most certainly." The vampire smiled and took her into his arms, kissing her softly. "You were always my most promising experiment."
"You and your elegant way with words." Agatha smirked, rolling her eyes. "I should have worked with you on that. But it would've taken away from that charismatic charm of yours."
"Are you mocking me?" Dracula asked, a brow cocked.
"Just merely stating a point." She answered, reaching down to once again reclaim his hand. For a second, her eyes glanced up towards the sky noting how scarlet it'd already become. "We should hurry. I'd like to enjoy the fields before it's too late."
It was odd that despite the millions of people who called England their residence were not out and about. Not once since they'd left their house had they come across another person. Not that they were complaining, both Dracula and Agatha wanted privacy. And as they approached the rolling hills of their destination, the vampires stopped.
"This looks like a lovely place." Agatha said, turning to Dracula. "Wouldn't you agree?"
The elder vampire's face had fallen void of emotion. He let go of his mate's hand and stared upwards, the corners of his lips turning downwards into a frown. Agatha forced a smile as she watched him, trying to hide her own disappointment. The air was getting hotter and they both knew their time was closing in.
"I lied to you."
At first, Agatha wasn't quite sure if she heard him right. It was an odd statement, something she hadn't expected. When she tried to catch his eyes, he didn't meet hers. Instead, he continued to look off into the distant as if deep in thought.
"Dracula…" She said hesitantly, reaching out to grab his arm. "What are you talking about? What do you mean you lied?"
The man merely sighed, pinching the brim of his nose before finally finding it in him to face his wife. "I promised you forever," he exclaimed. "From the moment I turned you, I assured you that I would make you last. Bond together for eternity. But this," he wildly motioned at the sky. "Is not what I meant."
"No, you're right…" Agatha began, moving closer. "It wasn't what either of us expected. But my dearest Count, you did give me a full life. Centuries that I would have otherwise never had." She reached up, resting a hand against his cool cheek. "I'm not upset or scared about what is to come. I'm not alone. I have you, don't I?"
"Well yes," Dracula agreed, still grimacing. "But now I've doomed us to becoming nothing more than ash-if we are lucky to become only that."
"Then let us become ash, or particles, or whatever else happens when we burn," she murmured. "If this was what life had intended for us, then in the end, I'm glad I was with you." Agatha chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Funny to think I wouldn't have agreed to that those many, many centuries ago. Back at the convent. You remember yes?"
"How could I forget," he smirked. "What a feisty personality you had as a nun."
"We went from wanting to kill each other to wanting to die together." Agatha sighed, gazing deep into his eyes. "Irony has truly followed us throughout the years. But I wouldn't change a second of it. Not a moment." The ground around them began to smoke, but she ignored it. "Do you love me, Count Dracula?"
"More than I'll ever be able to comprehend." He answered, pulling her close. "You, my beloved, have always been my true bride."
The air was scorching now, a blinding orange glow radiating from every direction. The skirt of Agatha's dress was now encircled by a brilliant ring of red flame. She didn't seem to notice though as she pushed herself up to kiss Dracula on the mouth hard. His arms wrapped around her as he held her close.
"Don't let go." she whispered, allowing her eyes to close for one last time.
"Never," he answered. "Not in a million years."
And together, as the mighty star drew in closer, the lovers were pulled into the Sun's welcoming embrace. Forever lost in their eternal love.
______________________________
It was an unbearably sunny late afternoon in Asgard, one of the kind that threatened to suffocate you with its looming silence and drown you with its sizzling heat. Nothing out of ordinary was going on in the palace, much to Loki's disdain. He certainly didn't mind the temperature, nor the silence, but the nerve-wracking boredom was slowly killing him, nagging at his mind and chipping away pieces of his sanity.
Just a few days ago he had been let out of the palace prisons, once again, and he hoped it was for good this time. He hated the place, hated the cold boredom, hated the time he could spend getting lost in his internal darkness. The prisons were a dangerous place, but not as dangerous as his own mind. Yet he seemed to be locked into both equally often. Every time Loki just slightly misbehaved, or caused the tiniest mischief, Odin would have him locked up for weeks, sometimes even months. Every opportunity to get him out of the public sphere was taken advantage of.
But today he was free at last. The question was for how long though, as the allfather surely would waste no time to find another excuse to send Loki back to confinement. It was becoming rather a boring game between them.
Currently Loki found himself alone. Thor was, like mostly everyone else, busy with all the important matters nobody would let Loki even come close to. Not that he would care... Always the outsider, he was usually left to mind his own business, which he gladly did.
Thus he was only strolling through the palace, lost in his own thoughts, drowning. At least the rage he had felt all day, about the despicable pack that was his family, was slowly receding to the normal disdain he felt for them at all times.
He was just crossing into a bright hall with a large balcony, heavy balustrade ornamented with imprints of long past glory, when something caught his eye. He stopped dead in his track, turning to look at the balcony with narrowed eyes and a deep frown.
Right there on the balustrade lay a girl with her arms crossed under her head, gazing up into the clouds.
After a second of admitted surprise and another of careful consideration, Loki walked out onto the balcony, already preparing for conflict. She was not supposed to be here, not supposed to have gotten here. He knew everyone in the palace. And yet he had absolutely no idea who she was.
As soon as he came in close enough to see her more clearly, she suddenly turned her head to face to him. Those breathtaking green eyes... A small smirk spread on her lips, mere seconds before she sat up and let herself fall backwards, off the balcony, into the beginning sunset.
Loki's eyes widened as he halted in something one might be able to describe as shock, considering it was an expression coming from Loki, who never really felt things of quite the ordinary sort.
In an instant he stood at the balustrade. Nothing. She had simply vanished into thin air. Or she had shattered on the hard ground far below the balcony, but Loki highly doubted it. What an odd encounter… The frown remained on Loki's face, but he decided to let it slide for the sake of returning to his brooding. It wasn't his task to keep intruders out of the palace, after all, and he wasn't willing to do Odin's job.
Still, over the course of this day and the next few Loki was sure to see her from time to time, bright eyes gazing at him from the shadows, her small silhouette lounging about in the corners of the palace… But it was more of a feeling than an actual sight. She was definitely there, even if he couldn't see her.
A week later –Loki had been strolling through the palace gardens for the majority of the day– he made his way to the kitchens once night had fallen upon the kingdom. His family didn't bother to call him to dinner anymore, for he had never once joined their elaborate feasts since his latest release from the prisons, and Loki generally avoided contact with them as much as possible. Maybe out of personal pride, maybe to give them no opportunity to mock and hurt him any further.
Only Thor had cared enough to tell the servants to set some food aside in the kitchen, for Loki to find and enjoy in his own time. The thoughtful gesture, admittedly, made Loki care a little more for his idiot brother than for the other idiots.
As he went to retrieve his meal now, in the safety of the darkness, his mind wandered back to the girl in the shadows. How had she done that, back on the balcony? Just vanishing… He believed it to be something only he himself was truly capable of. But his pondering was of no use, despite the burning need to understand the occurrence, and he realized that he needed to attend to his physical needs for now. His stomach was very precise in its growling.
However as soon as he entered the kitchen, he noticed that he was not alone.
"Do you realize that intruding is a crime? So is stealing food from the royal kitchen…" He said while quickly scanning the dark room out of the corners of his eyes. A slight smile played on his lips, as he found that this shadowy game of cat and mouse might have run into a dead end.
"It's only a crime if I get caught…" A sweet voice answered a short moment later, and Loki could hear the smile in it, while he had yet to make out where she was.
"Well, I have been arrested for less." He laughed breathily, slowly sauntering over from one wall of the room to the other. "Have you at least found what you are looking for?"
A brief moment of deep silence followed, then an empty golden plate came sliding down the grand table in the middle of the room, right out of the darkness and straight towards Loki.
"Have you indeed?" She chuckled.
"That was my food." Loki replied with a deep chill to his voice. It obviously bothered him that someone was taking what was his, but the girl, this riddle of who she was and where she had come from… it fascinated him beyond measure.
"I beg your pardon, dear sir." She said, sarcasm dripping from every word.
"Why do you steal food and why are you in the palace?" Loki finally asked, ignoring her previous comment.
"Why are you?" She smiled. "Sneaking into the kitchen late at night?"
"Don't you know who I am?" He asked, slowly getting more and more amused by the way she was talking to him. It was a temerity, and Loki loved it.
"I know many things, my dear sir, but why would I need to know who you are? Isn't it far more interesting to know what you are? How you are? Why you are?" Her soft voice wrapped around his senses like a lure, cast out only for him to drown in.
Loki frowned, curiosity flashing in his eyes as he finally spotted her dark frame in the darkness of the kitchen. "Why don't you stop playing games with me and tell me who you are instead?" He asked calmly, in the same sensual, deep richness in which she spoke to him before.
Again, her voice was sweet when she responded, but full of passion. "But life would be no fun without games, don't you think?"
Loki froze in his movements, a small smirk appearing on his face, an imprint of his sincere amusement. "Indeed it wouldn't. Very well…"
He watched her shadowy form wander from the wall on the other side of the room, towards the open window front.
"Well, I assume I will see you soon." He said once she had reached the open window, with a little more hope in his voice than appropriate.
"What makes you so sure I will come back?" She responded with the same smirk upon her lips, turning around to face Loki as she stood a mere inch from the edge, where the floor met the open air.
"What makes you so sure I won't have the guards arrest you when you do?" Loki mused, but whether she could hear him he did not know, and he did not care either.
With one more amused smile she let herself fall backwards into the night, eyes fixed on Loki's in curious intensity before she was gone.
Loki did not even bother checking where she went… Maybe she just had a thing for letting herself fall from a mile above the ground?
Shaking his head, he headed back towards his chambers, unable to drop the smile that had manifested itself upon his lips. His dinner plans were long forgotten and his mind busy with more important matters. This night, he did not sleep at all.
_______________
From that day on, Loki was more attentive towards his surroundings. He knew he should not hope to find the girl again... And yet he so desperately wanted to. To solve this mystery that had found its way into his dull life. This whole situation had him on edge on a constant basis, had thrown him into deep conflict with himself. As the days passed, his initial curiosity slowly turned into anger, for he could think of absolutely nothing but her, and the anger turned soon into hatred. Why did confusing emotions always lead to hatred with him?
Loki had always felt a deep hatred for confusing emotions, for distractions, that was nothing new. But now that he wanted nothing more than to find the girl, he hated himself even more for being so consumed by this desire. It, she, was a distraction, nothing more. He had more important matters to attend to! But he couldn't simply stop being intrigued and fascinated and… Could not bring his mind to shut up about her. For that, it made him hate her as well. As the distraction she had become to him. The unsolved mystery, the desire he could not get rid of.
His days were spent brooding in the most shadowy places of the palace and its surroundings, and at night he would aimlessly wander around the halls and corridors until he somehow would end up back at the kitchen. He hated how disappointed he was every time he had to see that he was alone.
The tenth night after their little chat, as he once more came to collect his meal in disappointment to find her absent, he looked down onto the well-laid table with a sigh and a roll his eyes. By all the nine realms, what was happening to his sanity?! What was he doing here, going to do now?
Slowly, sighing to himself, he turned on his heels and locked the kitchen door from the inside. Then he opened a window just wide enough for the gap to be visible to the watchful eye and finally he used his magic to bring himself back to his room, all the while frowning deeply at his own despicable actions.
A few hours later he returned to the kitchen the very same way he had left, finding the plate empty and all dishes neatly washed up. With another curse to himself, he unlocked the door and left. Only then, finally, would his mind allow him to think of other matters once again. For the first time in two weeks.
He continued this procedure for another week, all the while torturing himself mentally. She was a small flame, and he the raging fires of Hel. And still, he set the table for her every night.
It appeared to him to be so wrong, everything he had been doing lately. Thinking about her. About their talk. And giving her a direct invitation to steal his food. He hadn't eaten all that much himself, finding no appetite for anything but information. It all was utterly stupid. But then, why did he continue to do it anyway?
Every time he saw a person during his walks through the palace, they would always jump out of his way. Almost no one wanted to deal with him and his moods, and the rest avoided him anyway. His temper had gotten so bad, so feared, that a rumor had started, saying he was up to some sinister things again. Others said he had finally gone mad once and for all. But everyone had somehow collectively decided to avoid him even more than before.
Honestly, their ways and actions didn't bother Loki much, for he was way more concerned about his own erratic behavior.
But suddenly, after another week, he had finally managed to regain some control over his scattered mind. The incident in the kitchen was pushed back to the darkest corner of his mind, locked up behind the most intricate seals, and she was no more than another face he had once upon a time laid eyes upon.
That was when he decided to take a walk through the palace garden late, at night and in the comfort of the darkness. The night was seemingly the only time he left his chambers these days, for it allowed him to avoid the preying eyes of the folk.
The further away he walked from the palace, the better he felt and the more at ease his troubled mind was. Once he reached his ultimate destination, he sighed almost contently. Two trees, in perfect symmetry.
From the outside, from the mere look, there was nothing that could have given away his secret. He smiled to himself as he walked through the gap between the two trees. Around him, the landscape changed, blurred and reorganized itself until he found himself standing on a clearing with a lovely natural pool, surrounded by large rocks.
This had been his hideaway all throughout his childhood… A picture perfect little place, securely hidden by as many illusions as his magic as a child had allowed him. Of course he had come back and changed a few things though, making it even more uninviting for any stranger who happened to pass by.
But this time when he stepped into the opening, he noticed the difference immediately.
"How...?" He asked quietly, anger and irritation not even remotely hidden from his voice. "How DARE you come to this place?!" His voice rang through the clearing like a rough wind, touching everything in reach in a shaking, threatening quiet.
And here they were once more, the girl and his endlessly torturing thoughts… Loki's blood froze over and started boiling at the very same time. Cold bit harder than fire, cold was cunning in the way it numbed its victim to the damage.
Slowly she walked towards Loki, and he had to keep himself from killing this little worm right on the spot. Her presence here scared him deeply, and Loki, like everyone in fear, lashed out when feeling threatened. This was his space, his alone.
"Hello." She said calmly and came to a stop only a couple feet in front of him. Now he could finally see her more clearly, more real, for the night was bright with stars and a low hanging moon as full as Thor had been at the last banquet.
She looked young, Loki thought. But her eyes seemed to bear the wisdom of many lifetimes.
"How were you able to get to this place?" Loki whispered, full of irritation and a hint of wonder. She frowned, opening her mouth but closing it again quickly.
"There was a door between the two trees and I walked right through it. Isn't that what one is supposed to do with doors? And well, here I am." She replied finally, reluctantly. All the while she didn't look at his eyes, but rather at his shoulders, his hands, his legs.
Loki was irritated to say the least. Normally his barrier would block out everyone except for himself and well, his mother, because she also…
"You are a creature of magic." He said lowly, taking a step closer to the girl. She didn't flinch, nor move, which honestly surprised him, considering his forcefully hostile attitude.
"And that makes you so angry?" She asked quietly, looking straight into Loki's eyes at last. And in that very moment, something strange happened. Not the romantic kind of strange, but the strange kind of strange really.
Loki was completely taken aback as suddenly images flooded his mind, horrible, dark images of pain and torture and things even worse than that. Imagines he could not quite put meaning to, until he saw a little girl that looked terribly beaten up, and even more scared. Then pain hit him like a lightning, forcing him to his knees and finally to the ground altogether. Yet as suddenly as it had come, it was all gone again.
Panting he lay on his back, chest rising and falling rapidly as he tried to catch his breath, and his eyes slowly began to adjust to the real world again. It took him a second to remind himself of his current situation, but as soon as it hit him, he jumped to his feet. The girl was still lying on the ground, breathing heavily as had Loki.
Without a second thought he let a blade of ice appear in his hand and moved to tower over her small body.
"I thought you were a nice guy." She chuckled breathlessly while Loki pressed her torso back to the ground with his foot. The gesture made a part of his being protest heavily, and another dance in victory. It remained for later to see which part was larger.
"You know nothing about me..." He said gravely, while his eyes pierced hers. "YOU have no right to be here."
"Well, you didn't mind when you let me into the palace every night." She answered with a smirk that sent a jolt of energy through Loki's heart. His hand with the blade in it began to shake ever so slightly, only for him to suppress the movement immediately. He was already torn enough about his behavior in his mind… he didn't need his body betray him as well.
"Because the palace is the allfather's concern. I wouldn't care if the rats came and overtook the damn place." He spoke calmly, yet felt mind protest heavily at his current actions. He ignored the voice telling him to stop the hostility. "But this little piece of nothing, this utterly unimportant part of nature, this is mine alone. And I will not allow anyone to take it from me." His voice dropped to a dangerous low as he lifted the blade and… saw the images of the frightened, beaten up little girl in his head. The blade hit the ground less than an inch next to her head. With a shivering breath he stepped away from her, running his hands through his hair in despair. What was he doing!? He should punish her for intruding, for taking control over his mind so effortlessly, maybe even so unknowingly... He should just end his own torment by ending her, right here and right now, to never think of it again. But he couldn't.
"I'm sorry." She finally said and got up, walking towards Loki with long, elegant strides. "You were very nice, gracious, in letting me into the kitchen, and I didn't mean to be disrespectful." A second before she could place a hand on his shoulder, his own hand shot up to stop her mid-air.
"Don't. EVER. Do that again." He said in a warning, but not angry tone. Half a second later he let go of her hand and turned to leave. With his back to her, he finally spoke up once more. "I expect you to be gone before sunrise. And don't come back to the palace. If I ever have to lay eyes upon you again, you will come to know just now nice I really am."
With that he left her standing in the middle of the opening and marched right through the secret entrance, convincing himself that he wasn't fleeing, and failing at it most miserably. But all those images, his locked away thoughts, the confusion, the CHAOS… It was too much to bear. Even his stoic facade had its limits.
Once back in the ordinary palace gardens, he did not get far before he heard her voice call out to him.
"What's your name?" She asked curiously. "I at least want to know the name of the nicest man I have ever met."
He stopped in his movement, closing his eyes, and cursed his mind for being so weak. "Loki." He gave back shortly, and before his stupid mind would bring forth any more foolish actions, he brought himself back to his chambers with magic. He was not in the mood for something as mundane as walking back. To be precise, he was not in the mood for anything at all. Thus he only shed his clothing at once for the sake of a hot bath. Only as he dwelt in the comfort of the almost boiling water, he closed his eyes, hoping he would just fall asleep and drown for real, as he already had in his mind.
_______________
A few days had passed when Loki decided to join the official meals once more, for the kitchen felt like burnt territory now. And the hatred for this damn kingdom would maybe distract him from the hatred he felt for himself and his actions, his words, his thoughts.
"I'm glad that you have finally come to sense, brother." Thor greeted him happily. Loki ignored him.
"It was about time you let go of that dark demeanor and brooding indifference. I have arranged for you to sit next to father, who wants to have a word with you, and I, and I made sure that…" Thor talked on, but Loki had turned on his heels already to head back towards the exit.
Nope, he couldn't do it. He felt overwhelmed by the mere thought of being surrounded by all those utterly stupid people and their utterly meaningless conversations. A room full of people who hated him wasn't the best company, though they hated him not nearly as much as he hated himself. Not even true hatred those puny creatures were capable of… only feasting and smalltalk. No harsh emotions.
He returned to his chambers and sat down on the balustrade of his own balcony, watching the ongoings far below him. Literally and figuratively.
After what seemed like a small eternity of silent peace on the outside and a raging battlefield on the inside, there was a determined knock on his door.
"Loki?" Thor's voice sounded muffled through the thick wood and chipping paint. "Loki I know you are in there. Will you let me in?"
Of course Loki wouldn't. He remained sitting still on the balustrade, pondering over the implications and results of simply jumping. He wouldn't get hurt, not really after all, and he could always teleport back to where he was now, to safety, to misery. Maybe he shouldn't save himself though, that might be for the better of everyone. Unfortunately Loki didn't care for the better of everyone, not on the outside at least, only in a place hidden very deeply within him.
"Loki…" Thor sounded annoyed.
"What, brother?!" Loki spat out the last word as if it was venom on his lips.
"I… I would like to apologize for being so…" Thor's voice trailed off.
"...Stupid? Ignorant? Foolish? Bearded, maybe?" Loki helped him out, but only gained a chuckle in response. Not the desired reaction. His words were not meant to amuse, but to hurt. Maybe he should've stopped at foolish to get his point across.
"I meant to say pushy." Thor finally sighed. "I know how much you dislike our family and… well, everyone basically, but…"
The door flew open and Loki stood only inches away from his brother's face. "THEY despise ME. Why should I treat them any differently..."
Thor sighed. "Not everyone despises you, Loki."
Loki turned around to his room and walked back to the balustrade, leaving the door open for reasons beyond him. Thor followed quietly. "I don't despise you…"
Loki didn't answer, but instead moved to stand on top of the railing, staring down into the city below him with an angry frown. Thor was a fool for believing Loki would actually care at all whether he despised him or not… a fool for not hating Loki like he ought to. Thor seriously made hiding behind hatred difficult than it should be. Why by Valhalla did nobody understand that it was safest for everyone to leave Loki alone for good?!
"...and I think you shouldn't despise yourself either." Thor finally said, now standing in the open window that led onto the balcony.
With an annoyed glare, Loki turned around to face his brother. "You were never one to talk about feelings, and I honestly preferred you that way." He looked him right in the eye, wondering how to get away from the very much unnecessary conversation. "Go mind your own business. Be a good pet to your father."
Then he let himself fall backwards, the only possible route of escape. Off the balustrade, down towards the city in a rushing speed. Just like she had done… He willed his mind to shut up already. He heard Thor shout his name… how vain, really. But Loki only closed his eyes and enjoyed the calm, and for a brief moment he felt free. Free of hatred, free of pain, free of sadness. Of anger, guilt and revenge. The feeling was dangerously addicting. He was only himself, in a way that he should always have been and never will be indeed.
But the brief moment passed and all the confusing emotions came rushing back, heavier and more grave than he had felt them before. Maybe the people were right, maybe he was insane.
Then he hit the ground, not even bothering to slow down his fall before the inevitable collision. Fortunately enough, he landed right in the middle of a field with no one around to report the incident back to their king. Surprisingly, he hadn't died. It did not even hurt. Damn. Stupid plan, after all.
He didn't specifically want to die, but he wouldn't quite mind either. So he merely remained laying in the trench the force of his impact had created. At least no one would bother him here, and he could think in peace, could start to sort through this internal maze, this downward spiral of irrational behavior and divergence from his usual self.
Oh how wrong he was in assuming he would find peace here, as a few minutes later he noticed Thor's heavy footsteps making the ground vibrate beneath him.
"Brother, you seriously have a problem or a few…" Thor sighed as he sat down next to Loki.
"Yeah I know…" Loki sighed bitterly, opting for sarcasm. "Thank you very much for pointing it out though."
Thor sighed again and rested his face in his palms in utter exasperation. The view made Loki smile for the first time in days.
_______________
That night was the first after a row of many sleepless ones where he could finally find some rest.
The next evening, he tried once again to join dinner. He ought to push himself if he ever wanted to forget about the girl and to prove to himself that he was still very much the collected, intelligent god he deemed himself to be, instead of this insane mess of internal chaos. Had the girl ever left his secret garden? Had she come back to the palace already, stealing and spying?
He cleared his mind of those thoughts and walked into the great hall where dinner was to be served every moment now. After the first steps into the room, he could already feel the preying eyes on himself, the ogling and whispering.
"What is he doing here?" Someone asked in disbelief, someone else merely gasped.
Loki however remained silent, his face frozen and grave. His eyes landed on Thor, who already looked surprised enough. Odin on the other hand showed nothing but disdain. Surely he would rather have Loki locked up again where no one could see the poor excuse of a son Loki knew Odin saw in him.
The entire hall had fallen silent as Loki walked towards his designated seat. With the same stoic expression he sat down and soon the talk around him began to pick up again.
"You certainly know how to make an entrance…" Thor smiled. "Do not worry brother, I will leave you alone and not repeat yesterday's mistakes."
"Thank you." Loki responded calmly, but he felt highly uncomfortable. Even though he could be beyond charming and very much likable if he wanted to be, most of it was merely pretense and came out so rarely that most people had forgotten there was any goodness left in him at all.
So he just sat in silence and ate his food, while watching the people around him. Most of them were talking to each other, eating and laughing, and still Loki did not miss the glares everyone was giving him from time to time. It was the first instance in forever that he was joining an official event after all. People weren't used to his presence, and neither was he used to theirs.
Suddenly a guard came rushing into the room and quickly strode towards the allfather, quietly talking to him in obvious haste. The other dinner guests didn't seem to take much notice of it.
Odin called Thor to his side, whispering to him now, while looking at Loki in deepest suspicion.
Of course, whenever something bad happened around the palace, it seemed to always be Loki who was accused first. He rolled his eyes and rose to his feet. Now that everyone had followed Odin's gaze, they were quite shamelessly staring at him and it became obvious that he was not welcome anymore. Yet, he at least wanted to know what he would be imprisoned for next.
Thus he halted when he overheard, by pure accident of course, what exactly the guard was explaining to Odin and Thor.
"...found her trespassing in the royal forest…" The guard's voice was almost too quiet to hear. "...took forever to chase her down… ...heavily wounded… ...dangerous..."
A cold shiver ran down Loki's spine, which he tried to ignore as much as possible, for he was most certain to already know who exactly they were speaking of. Who this 'she' was.
As unsuspiciously as possible, he came to stand in the shadow behind a grand pillar, listening in on the quiet conversation and hoping to hear no more bad news at least.
"...she was barely conscious when we found her. But she kept calling his name…" The guard looked around the room nervously, obviously not finding what or whoever he was looking for.
"Whose name?" Thor asked just as quietly, yet with the not unusual hint of irritation lacing his voice.
"Loki." The guard responded dimly, not daring to look at the allfather, probably in fear of his wrath.
"Where is she now?" Odin asked coldly. "And I hope for your life that your men are already looking for my 'son'…"
"We, uhm, we have locked her in the prisons…" He stuttered. "A-and no, I sincerely apologize, we have not began seeking for Loki."
"But you said she was wounded, why hasn't she been brought to the healers?" Thor asked with a deep frown that Loki could easily hear reflected in his voice.
"Why should we spend resources to heal her… She would have to face trial, and eventually death, for trespassing anyway. Maybe she will spare us the effort." Odin answered to Thor. "And as for you…" He faced the guard now. "When you came into this hall, Loki was right over there. Why exactly did you NOT secure him immediately?" His voice was calm. So calm in fact that Loki could tell even from afar that Odin must be fuming. The rage that was so badly hidden within his voice almost made Loki laugh. But after hearing all of this, he did not feel like laughing at all. He did not feel anything at all.
That fool of a woman had let herself get caught. And hurt. AND locked up. Loki was furious for getting involved in this, and even more for the deeply rooted worry he felt for her well-being. And he was already on his way down into the very same prisons he had hoped to never see from the inside again, indeed hoping that he was not too late now.
17. creature most vile and despicable
(this is a sequel to “The Sun, the Moon, and all the stars”, the one when they are married with children and Connor is missing, aka the usual)
Time has stopped moving, for all the seconds Gavin has to live through have lost their purpose. He’s stuck in a void where the only thing that means something is the numbing pain that threatens to stop his heart and the only escape is through the girls and their sad faces that need to be comforted. Which is insurmountably worse. He wonders where he finds the strength to wake up and repeat the same torment of waiting. Waiting for the news that would put an end to this agonising uncertainty. It would be a million times more tortuous if the hope he so desperately clings to got ripped away from him, the hope that keeps them from breaking completely. But it has been three weeks already, and with each day the chance that Connor will safely return to them gets slimmer.
He wants to scream that it isn’t fair, that it should have been him who leaves first, for the sake of the children if nothing else. Connor is so much better at taking care of them, at making them smile and keeping them happy, and although they don’t say it, Gavin isn’t the favourite parent. Maybe it’s because he has little to no fond memories of his childhood and therefore has difficulty showing the good of the world to the girls, or perhaps it’s the fact the android is vicariously experiencing the joys that come with being a child for the first time, but the truth stays the same, everyone loves Connor a bit more than they love him. Other than the android himself, but he has Gavin to compensate for that. That’s why he has to try extra hard to prevent his family from falling apart during these testing times. He cooks a dinner every day, takes the girls to the park, reads them before bed, all the things he usually sucks at. These are Connor’s specialties, he’s the one who can handle the domestic stuff the best after all. And it’s not that Gavin is absolutely terrible at it, that he has abstained from these things, it’s just very painful to do it alone. It doesn’t feel right. It is supposed to be the four of them forever, no matter how unattainable this plan might be.
For how hard this is on Gavin, he can’t even imagine what the little ones must be going through. Their household has been lacking the usual sounds of life since this all began. No more laughter, no more friendly yelling over each other, no more out of tune singing being heard from the girls’ room. It’s like they’re living through a terrible nightmare, trapped in eternal sleep.
He puts away the leftovers and washes up, waiting for his daughters to finish cleaning themselves so he can put them to bed, to provide them with the only relief they can get while this bad dream lasts. It has been yet another day of barely surviving, empty of signs that they might get closure soon. It’s easier when he’s at work, he can busy himself with his case and lower the volume of the screaming ache. But here in their home, he is always surrounded by things that remind him of what they’ve lost, no matter how temporarily it might be.
 “When is pappy going home?” A question that haunts him every single day. One that doesn’t have a right answer. Because they’ve decided to never lie to their children, as their relationship itself is built on honesty.
“Is he dead?” Ellie is the bravest seven-year-old he’s ever known, always looking after her younger sister. And Annie… she’s just the biggest sweetheart, a true definition of innocence. They deserve a much happier life than what he alone can provide.
“We have to hope he isn’t.” He dims the lights and sits by their shared bed. They’re too scared to spend the night apart, especially Gavin. “Tell you what, I’m gonna make a story about what might have happened to Connor, sounds good?” It really doesn’t, but that’s the best he can do right now.
The girls nod and huddle together under the blanket, making a space for their father to join in.
“Okay, let’s see… Once upon a time, there was a robot so kinds and so beautiful that the stars shone a little brighter when he walked under them.”
“Who’s that?”
“That’s Connor, you silly.”
He can see their lips curl up and the sight makes him lose about one pound of the weight he has to carry.
“And all the people in the land vied for his attention. But one person held so much affection for him, that none could compare and the robot had no choice but to grow close tho the raggedy man who would not give up on pursuing him. As time went on, the two of them became a proper family and eventually welcomed two pretty princesses into their home.”
“Is that us?”
“Obviously, princess Annie.”
They giggle and his heart is about to implode on itself.
“But one of those who were left ignored by the handsome robot wasn’t satisfied with the current state of events and planned its cruel revenge. It was a creature most vile and despicable, not afraid to do anything to have the robot for itself. It stalked his every move, waiting for the right opportunity to strike. One day, the vile creature succeeded. When no one was looking, it kidnapped the robot and ran away with him far, far away. And because it was so very large and so incredibly fast no one was able to stop it.”
The wide eyes focusing on his every word almost make him want to cut the story short and put them to sleep, but he owes the girls something that could manage to calm them down, at least for tonight.
“It took the robot to its secluded abode, locking him to a room the creature had prepared for him. But it didn’t want him out of malice or because of its evil nature, it just simply fell in love with the robot and was compelled to stay in his proximity. It didn’t treat him badly, but still, it did hurt him terribly. For the robot was denied the most important things in the world – freedom, and mainly, his family, who suffered tremendously from the loss of the person who lit up their lives. But they never gave up their hope, believing that the day would come when they would be reunited once more.”
“So how did it end? Was the robot saved in the end?” The younger one looks like she’s five seconds from slipping into dreamland, but her curiosity never relents.
“I… I don’t know. Maybe the raggedy man should go and defeat the despicable creature in order for the story to have a happy ending. What do you think?”
“Hmmm, I think he has to. The princesses are strong enough to take care of themselves and they would want to do anything to have both of their parents home again, no matter how long it takes.” He doesn’t doubt it. There are people who would be willing to look after the kids in his absence - friends, colleagues, his brother if there were no other options.
He kisses their foreheads and tucks them in tightly, praying for a better tomorrow.
Maybe he should take the risk and help with the search. Maybe he’s the missing piece of the puzzle of finding out what really happened to Connor. And if it the worst came to pass, Gavin wants to be the one to put his hand on the most vile and despicable creature that snuffed their light out.
@convinseptember maybe I’ll write a proper ending to this tragedy one day xD
A Miraculous Sorting
(I’m writing this under the Christmas tree’s lights, because they take a lot less power than my room’s actual lights, and if I’m going to throw an all-nighter today, I want the electricity bill to be as cheap as possible.)
 You know something I really love? Pulling a Sorting Hat at random times. You’ll see me making a sandwich and rambling to myself as to why Rivaille Ackerman is a Hufflepuff. You’ll see me doing the dishes and quietly wondering why Mabel Pines is a Gryffindor. You’ll see me taking a shower and just arguing with myself about whether Ciel Phantomhive is a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin.
 The fact is: I love Harry Potter with all my soul and I’ll take any opportunity I get to sort random characters into Hogwarts Houses.
 So I thought to myself: hey, why not make a post about it? Mixing my most recent Thing-I-Won’t-Shut-Up-About-For-a-Few-Monthstm (Miraculous Ladybug) and my unexplainable need to analyse characters and put them in Hogwarts? Sounds cool to me. And that’s why you’re reading this. Also, I’m bored.
 Anyway, let’s get to it!
 Warning: be aware of Spoilers! If you haven’t finished Season 3, I’m afraid you’ll find a buzzling nest of spoilers here, so do be careful!
 Warning 2: Sorting is a very sensitive thing and can be interpreted in many ways. This is how I interpret it. Feel free to disagree, I’d love to discuss different opinions!
Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug – Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
 This was an easy one. Despite her clumsiness and social awkwardness – which make her look a lot more air-headed than she actually is –, Marinette is a perfect match for Ravenclaw!
 First of all, we’ve been signed over and over again in the show to how she’s quick-witted, resourceful and strategic, and has got incredible problem-solving skills – even if she’s terrible at managing her time. Practically every episode shows us how quick she is to come up with plans to defeat the villains and how she always makes most of what she has – the Lucky Charm may be the most ridiculous object in the world, she’ll always manage to make a use of it.
 Not only as Ladybug, but also in her normal daily life, Marinette seems to be able to strategize and negotiate very well. Take as a few examples: how she manages to hide with Adrien using various strategies (Gorizilla); how she talks to Roland and convinces him to come visit Tom in his birthday (Bakerix); how she hides and runs away with Kagami and Adrien using various diversions (Heart Hunter/Loveater); how she pulls her – in my opinion – most brilliant and convoluted plan to retrieve Tikki and Plagg and keep her identity hidden (Kwami Buster). I mean, we get distracted by her silly shenanigans every now and again, but this girl has some pretty smart moves!
 She also operates the team work most of the time, directing when and where to use her fellow heroes’ powers. Not to mention she’s the one to choose who gets to have which miraculous, and she mostly seems to get it right – in this house, we do not talk about the stupidity that went down with Aspik, thank you very much.
 Furthermore, Marinette is just plain intelligent. She jammed the Wi-Fi signal using a microwave in Lady WiFi; she engineered her own diary-protection device in Darkblade; she made a home-made projector in The Mime; she neutralizes evil perfume with a chemical explosion in Princess Fragrance; she makes a freaking propeller in Glaciator. She was also mentioned in Ladybug (this name doesn’t get confusing at all) to always get good grades.
 As the series goes, Ladybug gets to become a much wiser person. She seems to learn from most of the problems the akumatized victims go through, as well as from her own mistakes – let aside all the Adrien stuff. Yeah.
 Last but not least, Marinette is exceptionally creative. I don’t think I need to exemplify this, do I? I mean… If you haven’t noticed how artistically inclined she is and how she is constantly praised for her creativity as a designer and as a superhero – again, think of the Lucky Charms –, I doubt we’re watching the same show.
 Not necessarily a Ravenclaw trait, but I’ll add it as a bonus: Marinette handles so many responsibilities at the same time, what a multitasker! She is an independent fashion designer, she does small fashion services – as seen in The Mime, for example –, she is a designer for both Kitty Section and (apparently) Jagged Stone, she babysits Manon and Chris, she helps her parents at the bakery, she studies – again, it’s said that she has good grades, so even if she spends a lot of time saving Paris, she also doesn’t lay off at school –, she makes time to keep her friendships together and she has all her responsibilities as Ladybug, and now as a Guardian. This is all some new level of bullshit a 15 year old human being shouldn’t have to deal with. I’m seriously amazed it took her three full seasons to have a breakdown.
Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Ok, this was a bit more difficult. I was seriously torn between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but, after some deep thinking, I believe Hufflepuff is where Adrien belongs!
 Firstly, we’ve seen numerous times how inclusive Adrien is. He was, since day one, willing to give everybody a chance at friendship. This Nino boy I literally just met? My best friend. This Ladybug girl who fell from the sky out of nowhere? I’ll trust her with my life. This girl who hates me because of Chloé? I’ll give her my umbrella and she’s just a friend – Goddamnit Adrien. This Kagami girl I just fenced with and who almost killed me? Friend material right there.
 What makes Adrien’s inclusiveness most clear to me, however, is Lila. Despite everything she does, despite all her constant lying, despite her getting people he loves in trouble, he’s still willing to be her friend. We see in episodes like Chameleon, Oni-chan and Ladybug that he’s always willing to give Lila a second chance, to help her out when she needs it, to extend her the hand of friendship and to let her learn with it, because even if he knows she is a jerk, he still wants include her. Is that a bit of a stupid move at this point? Yes, it is. But we appreciate your try, Adrien.
 Another Hufflepuff trait that this boy has is patience. I mean, he lives with Gabriel Agreste, the cold critical father who shows affection – or any presence, really – only once every few months; he lives with Plagg, the demanding, pestering kwami who’s determined to not give two craps about doing his job; he’s childhood friends with Chloé “the arrogant and annoying and other things I can’t say out loud” Bourgeois; he’s trying to keep good terms with Felix, who’s competing for “most despicable brat of the year”; and he’s “friends” with Lila. All of this can only be handled by an enormously patient person.
 Despite that, Adrien is still somewhat just and fair. This can be seen in Despair Bear, as he says he’ll stop being friends with Chloé if she doesn’t start acting nicer. He also claims he won’t be friends with Lila anymore if she doesn’t get Marinette out of the trouble she caused. It’s also important to note episodes like Riposte, where Adrien’s determined to get a rematch with Kagami due to his believe that her loss was not fair.
 The thing that defines Adrien the most and that made me decide for Hufflepuff in the end, however, is his loyalty. Despite everything to ever come his way, he’s extremely loyal.
 Firstly, he’s loyal to Chloé, his childhood friend and, for the longest time, his only friend. We can see in the second part of the Origins episode that he won’t tell on Chloé’s behaviour because he “can’t throw her under the bus”. He instantly goes back to being her friend after the events of Despair Bear and seems to be the only one to get sad for her almost leaving Paris in Malediktator.
 The person Chat’s the most loyal to is undoubtedly Ladybug. We can see it in multiple instances, as he sacrifices himself in order to protect her in several episodes, stays by her side no matter what and, despite his own desire to know who Ladybug is, doesn’t actually actively try to find her identity (Chat Blanc aside) because that’s what she decided. Even if Chat Noir is constantly portrayed as her mere sidekick and gets the least attention of the duo, he doesn’t show jealousy. He trusts her.
 I’ll refrain from making the “Hufflepuffs are particularly good finders” joke.
Alya Césaire/Rena Rouge – Gryffindor
Tumblr media
 Oh dear… I feel like this one almost reached a Hatstall! It was so hard! Her extreme curiosity and fascination with the world around her made me think of her as a Ravenclaw, while her ambition to get the best information for her blog and connection to the Fox Miraculous – the fox being an animal strongly connected to cunningness – seriously made me think about putting her in Slytherin. But again, after deep thinking, I do think Alya fits incredibly well in Gryffindor!
 Let’s start with the fact that Alya is an icon of bravery. She is daring and determined to the point where she is reckless. She is always ready to jump right into action, no matter how dangerous the situation is. If she can either get interesting footage and information or be of any help at all, she will be there, often putting herself in danger in the process. She rarely ever gets intimidated, nonetheless, showing that she has very strong nerve. This can be seen throughout various episodes, ever since Stoneheart and all the way to Feast!
 It’s safe to say that Alya has also got a sense of nobility, in a certain way. As seen in episodes like Stormy Weather, Sapotis, and Timetagger, this girl’s got a way with kids and is always willing to protect them. Rena Rouge also shows willingness to help save Paris no matter what, as seen in Sapotis and Syren, for example.
 I don’t know if this can be considered nobility as well, but I’ll just leave it here that Alya “Wingwoman” Césaire is a very determined best friend and will do about anything to set Marinette with the boy she loves. I can’t even exemplify this, because this happens way too clearly in almost every episode, folks.
 Well… Say what, I’m still confused about this. Alya confuses me. Does anyone have any comment to help me out with this one, please?
Nino Lahiffe/Carapace – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Ok, I won’t lie: part of this decision is because Nino’s just got too much of that bro vibe for me to imagine him anywhere else. But hear me up, I’ll tell you why he is an amazing Hufflepuff!
 First of all, Nino’s absolutely loyal. He’s loyal to Alya; always willing to protect her with his life – that’s how he got his miraculous, after all! –, but they still act as very good partners, friends and couple, and he recognizes she is strong on her own, too. He’s ready to help her out with her “wingmanning” – I’ll exemplify with Puppeteer 2.0 – and with her Ladybug investigations – as seen in Lady WiFi. They even parkour together in Miraculer! (Sorry, I just need more DJ-WiFi in my life)
 He’s also loyal to Adrien. We’ve seen it in several episodes: how he wants to make his friend happy and let him be free from his very strict household – good examples would be The Bubbler and Party Crasher –, showing that he is fair to his friend. It’s also important to mention episodes like Simon Says where, after the akuma attack happens, Nino’s first instinct is be to make sure Adrien is alright.
 Nino’s also shown himself to be quite loyal to Ladybug, as he never faltered to follow her instructions, even after he gets the Turtle Miraculous.
 His friendship with Adrien and Alya overall shows he’s also very inclusive. I mean, Adrien is friends with Chloé, the most hated girl of all school, but Nino just straight up offers to be his new best friend anyway. And although Alya keeps dragging him around to her messes, as soon as they start to talk and notice they have a lot in common, he falls in love with her (Animan).
 Nino is a hard worker as well. He is seen DJ-ing almost every party that showed up so far, and he showed himself as extremely dedicated to his movie project in Horrificator.
 As a generally laid back guy, Nino can be seen as someone very patient. It is quite difficult to tick him off, therefore it’s rare to see him mad or lashing out at someone. One might say he’s too relaxed at times…
Kagami Tsurugi/Ryuko – Slytherin
Tumblr media
 Ok, first of all: I love Kagami. And I love Slytherin. So if anyone wants to shit on any of them, you’ll have to go through me first! Wands ready, buddy, I’m a duellist and I’m ready to fight!
 Kagami was another difficult one, but mostly because we rarely get to see anything from her personality, given how stoic and reserved she is at the beginning – besides, she’s a newer side character, so obviously she didn’t get to have that much screen time yet. But with what little we’re given, I’ve managed to figure she’d do nicely in Slytherin!
 Let’s start pointing out how ambitious Kagami is: during her first appearance in Riposte, she is determined to get to enter the most prestigious fencing school in Paris, and doesn’t even falter upon the challenge of defeating their most talented student; while episodes like Oni-chan show that she’s ambitious to get Adrien (and finish Lila, but that’s all of us). Her acts as Ryuko also goes to show this, as she’s clearly not willing to back down and is always willing to fight and win.
 However, she is not unfair, as seen again in Riposte, as she accepts her loss to Adrien was fair – it wasn’t, really –, even if it meant not getting what she wanted.
 Although Kagami doesn’t seem to be entirely selfish, she’s one to look after herself (the two are easily mistaken, hence this is seen as a Slytherin “bad trait”). We see it in Desperada, when she ditches fencing class to be able go out with Adrien; in Ikari Gozen, when she disobeys her mother in order to finally make friends; in Loveater, when she comments she doesn’t want to hurt Marinette, but would not give up on Adrien either.
 Ikari Gozen also shows that Kagami is level-headed, a natural leader, and rather cunning, given not only her strategies to deceive her mother in order to play the friendship game, but also her behaviour during the game and as Ryuko. This episode, along with Riposte and Frozer, for example, demonstrates that she strives to be the best at what she does.
 We see it in Animaetro how she doesn’t let herself be intimidated.
Kagami is decided, as seen in Frozer, Desperada and Loveater. She doesn’t hesitate.
Luka Couffaine/Viperion – Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
 Oh, you thought I was going to finish this without sorting my snake boy?
 Easy one. Very easy. Once you put aside the thought of Snake = Slytherin and Blue = Ravenclaw, it gets quite visible how Luka is the perfect Hufflepuff!
 First of: he’s an extremely just person. One of the main themes of the episode Silencer is how he demands justice for his band and friends.
 Luka has also shown himself to be immeasurably selfless. This is seen in basically all of the episodes he has an appearance on, but I’ll name Captain Hardrock (he gives his  guitar pick to Marinette upon seeing that she likes it + stays behind to help her escape The Liberty), Desperada (he puts himself in harm’s way to help Ladybug and Adrien escape + he lets Adrien borrow his guitar without a flinch), Felix (literally everything he says in this episode), Miracle Queen (he sacrifices himself to the evil wasps) and Loveater (the scene where he drops his bicycle and his beloved guitar to comfort Marinette is some symbolic selfless beautiful shit and I’m about to cry).
 In the same theme, he is notably kind. He’s never a hostile person – safe for Silencer, but that was a special occasion – and always seems to greet everyone with a smile and – when he finds them – kind words. I’ll exemplify using Adrien: despite knowing pretty well that Marinette is in love with the model boy, Luka was never once bitter towards him, treats him like any other friend (watch Desperada, Frozer and even Chat Blanc. Watch closely) and even states that he’ll be happy for them if they end up together (Felix).
 I’ll also mention how supportive of a brother he is (Reflekdoll is our main example, though I need more Couffaine Siblings’ interaction, please) and how he gives Marinette a bicycle ride to the Grand Paris Hotel (Loveater) to help her; he didn’t need to do that at all.
 We can see that what he wants the most is for Marinette to be happy, even if it’s not with him. He’s there to support the people he loves no matter what and respects their wants and needs. Take some notes, Chat Noir (ok, kidding. I love you, Chat. But do take notes).
 Luka is the definition of patience. I mean… Let’s talk about Desperada, where, right after he confessed his heart to Marinette, she just ignores him and straight out treats him like trash to favour Adrien (I’m not blaming Mari, tho; I know she’s a confused little bean and didn’t mean any harm). What does he do? He shrugs it off with a smile and keeps his cool unfaltering. Furthermore, he never seems to expect anything from Marinette after that declaration.
 Plus, when he’s chosen to receive the Snake Miraculous, one of the things he does best is to watch patiently for the opponent’s moves to know the best strategy to take.
 Plus plus, he lives in a houseboat with Juleka, the Anxious Horror Loving Sister, and Anarka, the Chaotic Havoc Mum. I love the Couffaines, but living in The Liberty must be a nightmare sometimes.
 Another point to take in consideration would be how Luka is a hard-worker. Despite him being pretty chill and laid-back, we often see Luka composing and/or practicing for Kitty Section. Not only that, but we also see in Loveater he has a job as a delivery boy through Paris. On a bicycle.
 To wrap this up, I’ll say that Luka is pretty empathic. Just take his whole “reading people and translating them/their feelings into a song” thing we see in Captain Hardrock, Frozer and Loveater. I rest my case.
 *
 Phew, we’re done!
You headcanon these in different houses? I’d love to discuss it!
