I have a question about this image of Xanathar's Thieves Guild.

Why does he have sexily lounging elf boys?

I ask because I cannot imagine a beholder being attracted to anything other than itself. Does he just understand Sexily Lounging Elf Boys to be a status symbol, and he wants anyone who visits to know he can afford Sexily Lounging Elf Boys?

Maybe I'm the asshole here for assuming. Maybe these boyfriends are master tacticians here to advise Xanathar, they happen to like wearing leather pants and no shirts and I should be less quick to reduce them to sex objects.

I think a lot about how when little Utena begs the prince to help Anthy he redirects the conversation to be about Utena to distract her from his powerlessness, he who is supposed to be the most powerful. He praises her and thanks her for her kindness and kisses away her tears, never assessing the real problem. He treated Anthy as some sort of a spectacle, not as a person suffering, and the most important thing to him was Utena's reaction, not Anthy's suffering. He attempted to push Anthy into the background, but Utena looked at her again.

I am not alright.

I am half an inch tall, hopping from letter to letter on my phone, composing a text draft so dramatic it could be on par with Greek myth.

And with that, I’m snatched up by two fingertips taller than me. They’ve always been gentle.

(And they’ve always been firm, when they’ve needed to.)

They set me on their shoulder, ignoring all protest as they grab my phone and delete the poem I had been composing. My swears don’t even phase them. I know it’s for the best, but dude, that took me like, an hour of cardio to type.

daily reminder: Ochako had to make herself physically see the damage the villains and war created in order to forget the uneasy feeling she got when Himiko smiled sadly (+ all the things she thought when she saw her). She cant forget what she has done (because she doesnt like the destruction), but that doesnt mean she cant forgive her or that made her feel distance from her.

Izuku can't forgive what Shigaraki has done, and as far as we know, he doesn't need to remind himself of the pain; his empathy doesn't make him feel weird about reaching out to a villain, at least on its own.

Its not a copy paste of the same battle or story.

Himiko and Izuku make Ochako wonder about the concept of heroism and saving, the roles heroes and villains have, and they also have an impact on her behavior, ideals, and feelings for them and herself. Shigaraki's fate and the world around Izuku seems to make him wonder about his role as a savior, because he doesnt feel like he fulfilled it really, when it ended up with someone else dying. He finds in Ochako someone who would agree on ideals about saving others, and thats great on its own.

I think it's interesting how we judge the outcomes of the battles of Beleriand when the elves are up against a foe that, objectively speaking, cannot be defeated by elven might. Like, you can say the outcome of this battle or that battle might have been different, but it seems like there is no way to defeat Morgoth without drawing on the gods and also breaking the land itself.

I think there's a way that this turns questions of strategy into questions of honor. The question "how do we best defeat Morgoth?" has a very simple answer ("you don't"), and I think by the end of the first age most of the elves know that. So there's that feeling I get that the real questions of the latter battles are more along the lines of doing the right thing than doing a sensical thing. Is it more honorable to try to hold out for as long as possible against an unstoppable force, or to go out in a blaze of glory? Is it more honorable to retreat and save what men you can, or to rush in and die alongside your men who are being slaughtered?

Oh my god...

I forgot how annoying Alfarid was in the beginning! And how hypocritical. Dear lord above (or below).

I am so happy that she later has such a big character development. She now is one of my favourit characters. (And that is the genius of Arakawas writing! Or rather of Tanaka...)

I am continuing chapter 5 and am now where Narsus and Alfarid are at the village that go attacked by Team Zahhak.

Edit: I have been rightfully reprimanded in the reblogs lol. I did not correctly read between the lines so the sublte context flew right over my head and I have missread that section of the manga. I will from now on read even more carefully! Thank you for informing me, folks!

they're all part of the same superhero team ofc. shen jiu AKA the crane actually has plant based powers but he does not like advertising that so he leans into crane and wind imagery. yue qingyuan just goes by his sword name for now. he's a pseudo iron man type character; his heart is greatly damaged and he needs a battery to help keep it beating. he also uses the battery to power his armor. he's very strong but doing too much in field work can be lethal. liu qingge is from a superhero family. he goes by storm his sister goes by mist :3c the liu clan use tattoos to seal power/energy/spells onto a person so he is covered head to toe in magical tattoos. (they're mostly strengthening spells or weapons he can manifest. cheng luan is life size going down his spine.)
