Been listening to a new podcast, The Heresies of Radulf Burntwine, and really enjoying it so far. It's about a heretical ex-monk who believes in science too much for the church, and his adventures backpacking across a kind of alt-medieval Europe treating zombies and werewolves and such as medical mysteries rather than supernatural curses. Like if Dr. House was slightly less of an asshole and did Doctors Without Borders in the world of Blasphemous. Fascinating world building and the specific medical jargon hits a great part of my brain (not sure exactly how well researched it is, but to my layman's ears it sure sounds fun).

Though the highlight for me at the moment is this old man and his bestie, intersex body-morphing brothel owner Ophelia. Long may she reign 👑

I'm only five official parts in but it's definitely holding my interest, and I recommend it to anyone who thinks "cured the curse of ancient Eldritch gods with steroids" sounds fun.

Building the Legion Tactical Armor Marines.

Started working on these back in 2022 leading up to the Horus Heresy Age of Darkness Box, and managed to snatch me some MK3 and the old Plastic Contemptor Dread before they were pulled from the store. So I had some bits to play with, mixing and matching with the rest of spare parts.

Also really practiced with painting reflections, and power weapons.

With the same paints, they don��t look too different to the AoD MK6 models, and I’m happy about that.

Also also, I keep building more cacti. it’s surprisingly meditative.

I've very quickly learned that this is honestly 100% true. It's not that They have bad intentions, but that rather you *have* to follow Their directions or risk losing *everything*, wonderfully twisting your arm.

Elditches can and will fucking ruin your life, inherently. They will fundamentally change you as a being if you go down this Path, whether by accident/happenstance or because, like me (evidently this is rare?), you Chose it after receiving the Call and its beckoning and decided to dive straight into it.

To be perfectly clear, I believe this is not a punishment so much as a natural consequence of getting involved with this stuff. It's not a punishment, it's just that if you don't do what They say they have no problem retracting all of Their comforting and support this incarnation and leaving you in the dust, though They still love you as a being.

My blessings certainly come with caveats. I'm not saying pacts with other deities any different, but there's something inherently fearsome about that that 1) makes you not want to step out of line, and 2) makes you glad you're Their Child and not some other composition just getting vamped by eldritch.

They are "kind and sweet", They are helpful, They bestow gifts. But all of this is at a cost, and you have no idea what it is until you enter into a pact with Them and are informed of said consequences. It's the pain of being alone, it's the pain of losing support, it's the pain of losing your deities. And that hurts more than any punishment, the thought of Them abandoning you (BPD rule-out go brrr?).

Anyway. That's all I have to say about this. I'm just harping on how fucked up my life and my sibling's life will be if I *don't* stay on the path, as They are my Kin and I answer to Them and those I swore my fealty to, before any other being.
