I saw your pattern because people were talking about sewing masks, but honestly the accompanying sociology research is cool as hell, and I'm really looking forward to whatever of your developing work you share on tumblr. I'm also a social science PhD student, and I really hope you can get, like, what, retroactive IRB clearance to include this in your dissertation.

Thanks! Normally my honours thesis would have been put online through the university, but they did some school structure changes in the last couple of years and they are still trying to sort out what is going where in the archives now that Sociology is with the humanities now. I am aiming to get a version of it published in Transformative Works and Cultures, which is open access, but that might be getting pushed back what with everything that is going on.

As for ethics clearance, who knows? I had to jump through all sorts of hoops for honours because my research technically involved asking people to confess to what could potentially be crimes (although once you dive a bit deeper, the only one that is definitively illegal is the scanning and either uploading or reprinting of a digital or physical pattern in such a way that it deprives the author of potential income). Also, because I had respondents from all over the world my research was double-high-risk, because the uni worries abut that sort of thing. I have no idea how they would feel about this sort of thing.

See, even I’ve had trouble coming up with my own spin on mlm ships, mainly because of the lack of canon/fanon mlm support. I’m always a sucker for taking LoveSquare tropes and applying them to Adrino/Adrinath/Adrikim though.

'?' on sorting metric indeed when i'm pretty sure you'd sort even our spices by size + color if you ever cooked and our yarn and your closet are all organized by color. I'm p. sure the only reason the DVDs are alphabetical is that the colors aren't uniform enough.

Spices would be sorted by type, what they’re used in, and how frequently they’re used. Yarn and my closet are organized by color because color is what matters about them (you can also note that my closet is organized by type first, then color). The DVDs are alphabetical because that’s what makes sense to easily find what you’re looking for. My books are arranged by genre.

The End: What would you do with your time if you never died?

I mean, probably the same thing I do now? Never dying doesn’t mean I’d have more money. I might be more willing to do risky stuff, but I’m not that unwilling now and it also doesn’t mean no pain.

The Lonely: Name a few of your friends and your favorite things about them.

@uswe: nothing, I hate you. Obviously. Why else would I marry you? (I mean, besides the actual reasons we got married like taxes and insurance) I like your usual confidence, and that you share my “go big or go home” approach to making things, and that you will at least attempt to write me sad things to make me happy.

@ereborne: i like all her stories and that she puts up with my constant questions for fics and that she still keeps trying to feed me even though everything about my eating habits makes her sad. Also her cat. Even if he is a criminal.

The Extinction: Would you survive the apocalypse? 

Yeah, probably not. It’s fun to think about, and I’m definitely Slytherin enough that it’s possible I’d make it a while, but probably not that long.

I am really glad you did, though? It might not have been absolutely immediate, but I just kind of noped out of the whole thing because I couldn’t handle either confrontation or pretending it wasn’t there. Thanks for saying so. I wasn’t sure if I was going too far and being a fighty asshole, or actually doing some good; I’m glad it’s the latter!

I can’t fathom why his worst case is ‘submit and collaborate or up and die’. What, no ‘escape to the wilderness and live as a survivalist hermit’ option? I thought that was the usual failure mode for his kind of doom and gloom nonsense. (Major side-eye to his ‘live on your knees’ bit, too.)
