Ā ā€œOkay honest question, how exactly did Homestuck, a webcomic full of...ā€
Honestly? It was the YouTube videos from what I can tell. All the genuine children I know who followed it did so through youtube. It was real fun to sit with their mom and explain that it was not a media franchise primarily for kids and the fandom definitely wasn't kids safe.
God that makes.... so much sense.Ā  Eris is into Undertale via YouTube, though since Iā€™m a) more engaged with what my kids are viewing that what it seems like the average parent is apparently? and b) knew what it was before she did I can give her context and talk about it with her.

Happy Birthday Katsudon
The Carabosse Group has been a persistent thorn in Yuuriā€™s side since the assassinations of several high-level Foreign Office ministers a couple years ago. Heā€™d just been NCA then, doggedly following the leads wherever they presented themselves. Even his trip to Prague had been in the name of obtaining more info on the movements of known group members, such as the leader Popovich, who is so slippery that Yuuri could never quite make any charges or accusations stick.Ā
But of course, the trip to Prague had been truncated by the incident at La Degustation, and Yuuri had left the country shortly after simply to keep his profile low.Ā
And now -- Yuuri looks up at the golden exterior of an unfamiliar Japanese fusion restaurant, host for the Anastasis project this evening, and canā€™t help but feel a little twinge of deja vu, for some reason.Ā Ā
The twinge only gets harder when he sees a familiar silver head approaching the restaurantā€™s entrance, this time considerably more dressed in a sleek black suit.Ā
ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½Good evening, Mr Giacometti,ā€ says the host.Ā ā€œWeā€™ve prepared your table, this way.ā€
Yuuri wants to shout after him, but itā€™s pretty clear Viktorā€™s undercover for some reason tonight, so he keeps his mouth shut and his mask firmly in place as he also approaches the host.Ā
The investorā€™s dinner is in a separate part of the restaurant, cordoned off from other diners with velvet ropes. Yuuri looks over at where Viktor sits at his table, clearly admiring the room around him. For a moment, all he wants to do is go to him, to sit down across from him and ask him how heā€™s been. But he remains grounded on his side of the room, where the other investors are chatting quietly amongst one another.Ā
Yuuri singles out his mark. She is imposing, hawklike, with chestnut hair pulled into a severe bun and flinty eyes that glint over the edges of tortoiseshell spectacles.Ā ā€œMadam Baranovskaya, I believe?ā€ Yuuri asks, muting his English through the filter of his native Japanese.Ā ā€œIt is an honour to meet you tonight.ā€
ā€œI do not believe we have met,ā€ Baranovskaya states baldly. Yuuri nods.Ā
ā€œI represent the Yukimoto Group,ā€ he says, bowing to her, slipping into his role and away from the silver-haired man on the other side of the room.Ā ā€œWe are a company focused on hospitality and property management in Japan, and we are interested in investing in the Anastasis project, like yourself.ā€
Like the young man you were photographed with in Prague two months ago, he doesnā€™t say. How a Russian real estate mogul whoā€™d bought the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres could possibly be linked to the deaths of British Foreign Office ministers boggles Yuuriā€™s mind just a little, but heā€™s learnt since he first started this assignment that the strangest people can get caught up in the strangest things. Popovich himself had seemed like a bumbling fool, too, when Yuuri had first assessed him. And then heā€™d walked away from his crimes without hesitation, while a politician in France died under mysterious circumstances.Ā
ā€œIndeed,ā€ says Baranovskaya shrewdly, examining him over the top of her glasses.Ā ā€œIt is a worthy project, I think.ā€
Yuuri nods, as they seat themselves at their tables with the project developers at the head.Ā ā€œWhat would you be interested in seeing, if it were to come to fruition?ā€
ā€œReal estate value would increase in the surrounding area, as the Anastasis becomes a landmark,ā€ replies Baranovskaya.Ā ā€œThe assets I own in the area would appreciate with the Anastasis.ā€Ā
Yuuri is almost relieved that their first amuse-bouche comes out after that, as it saves him from having to come up with a convincing reply.Ā
ficlet asks are now closed, thank you!

How the fuck did that get through peer review? I'm qual and would catch that
I typed up a response on my phone but then it evaporated.
RIGHT?! I think a lot of it was that it was his second case study, but still, it was his thesis, so Iā€™d have expected his committee to, like. care. at all. I mostly incorporated it at all (not in the table of results of models of this fire but as a short mention in the lit review) to show that I wasnā€™t ignoring relevant things just because they were in French.

I started watching Hannibal because of you. This is a thank you.. and also a whhhhhy? How do people with bone structures like this exist?
BIG MOOD, every single person in that show is incredibly gorgeous? I mean, yeah, thatā€™s Hollywood I guess, but tbh the cast of Hannibal is above and beyond the usual level of glass-cutting cheekbones.Ā
As for getting you to start Hannibal, I will say youā€™re welcome.... and Iā€™m very sorry. šŸ˜‚Ā Ā

:-O I thought they were dresses originally; jumpsuits are even better!!!
I have SO MANY times had someone compliment one of them as a dress, just to have me gleefully say,Ā ā€œThanks! Itā€™s a jumpsuit! And it has pockets!ā€ while awkwardly lifting up one leg to show off the jumpsuit-ness. Which is to say, youā€™re not alone :D

You have such an eye for prints. That first one looks like something that the Persephone Press people would use as en endpaper, AND WHAT COULD BE MORE FITTING?
Ahhhh, I love that as a connection. Itā€™s from Rifle Paper Co.ā€™s first fabric collection from last year. Iā€™m kind of obsessed with all of their designs and have bought two more since then :D

I loved the new chapter. I am curious and wish I could word count the number of times "Yuuri" appeared because damn it seems like Victor was more obsessed than normal. Also thanks for using my name :3 I have shipped them forever :D
ā€˜Yuuriā€™ appeared 463 times in chapter 6

siveambrai replied to your post: There sure is nothing like Grad Schoolā€¦
Donā€™t let them freak you out! Part of the point of grad applications is to see if you can set a goal, follow through, and complete all the details for it.
I have definitely been getting that impression. There are so many little pieces you have to get together for it.Ā  I also feel bad because all the recommendation letters are request based, so instead of me sending anything out, the teachers all have to submit each letter to each school individually.Ā
