["It's ok,"] Thor shifts a bit on Daisuke's lap, still sprawled across him with his head resting on the top of his paws. Long ears falling back for a moment then rising right back up as he shakes his head and huffs through his nose. ["I don't mind fighting or getting hurt, especially if its for something I wanna protect."] His words were very sweet and Thor could tell the boy clearly cared a lot but Thor wasn't the type to run away anymore.

["Well, now it's gonna be me, you and dark! So as your new friend I'm gonna protect you no matter what!"] He'd hidden away when his sister was caught, terrified that he'd be next, then ran back to their nest once the coast was clear. He thinks back on that moment a lot, wishing that he'd been braver and gone to confront the trainer instead of running home. He's already made that mistake once and lost his family because of it. He wouldn't do it again.

Thor feels Daisuke shift beneath him and the chu turns his head around so he can look up at the male curiously, eyes large and round. He blinks twice at the question before a smile breaks across his muzzle and he chuckles. With a swish of his tail, Thor raises his upper-half off of the redhead's lap so he could stand beside him on his hind feet. ["Huh? Yeah, of course you can! Here--!"]

Since Daisuke was sitting, they were nearly the same height as he stood. With another swish of his tail, Thor would turn his body towards the other and throw himself at the boy's side, wrapping his stubby little arms around as much of the teen as he could. He even saves Daisuke the trouble by wriggling his head up under his arm and rubbing his cheek against his chest. His tail thumped furiously against the ground in time with every beat of his heart. ["You can pet and hug me as much as you want, whenever you want! Okay?"]

["Oh,"] Tilts his head up slightly so he could peer up at him. ["Really? Uh, thanks! I don't really act mean unless the situation calls for it. You're not like any human I ever met before either! You're different, but that doesn't bother me, cause you're really nice and I think it's cool that we can talk to each other! I never get to talk to humans."]

can he help the sound of dark's laughter , or the firm sense of approval in his heart and his thoughts as thor's words were relayed to him ? human rules were complicated , and daisuke couldn't possibly pretend to understand the reason for each one of them either , but what felt simple to grasp was that nobody liked a thief . stealing was wrong and universally frowned upon , and for a long time , he had grappled with things like this ; the idea of his so-called occupation and who or what he might have been hurting as he broke the law .

even so , those sorts of worries halted as soon as he felt that somebody had gotten into trouble and needed some kind of help . it's why the faint and inexplicable weight on him seems to lift and be relieved by the other's encouragement , if only little by little . at first nothing but a small smile sets onto his expression , and then the pound of his heart pushes beyond its meager rim once more . his red flush spreads as his nocturnal violets gradually dawn , and as the boy's hand holds over his heart , he nods .

' ... yeah , it's not right . ' it wasn't fair . ' it's okay if you don't understand everything , either . even though i'm supposed to , there's a lot i still don't get at all , like why ... why not every human being tries to help each other , or to properly take care of the pokemon they've caught . if it comes down to it , thor , i think ... maybe i would even wish that you'd run instead of fight , because i don't want you to get hurt . ' especially not for his sake .

' but --- it makes me really happy that you were willing to listen to me . for a long time , it's only been me and dark ... ' his hand twitches and shifts again . his palm extends itself outwards , but before it makes any contact with his new friend , daisuke quietly poses the question . ' ... can i pet you again ? or , er --- i don't know , is it too much if i want to hug you ? ' embarrassing as it was , there was still something about the other that he simply wanted to embrace . ' you're a really nice pokemon . i've never really met anyone like you before . '

The Headspace that is Grief (Ch. 2)

Summary: The grieving process is different for everyone, Emmet and Olivia know that first hand but they just don't know it yet. Sometimes it takes another person experiencing the same things as you to move through those feelings. Together, they learn and grow with their grief and each other.

In this chapter: Emmet starts making a few changes to Olivia's home and she's unsure how to take them, or her new tenant.

Notes: This is a short chapter by comparison to others, but it's more for set-up than anything. This was not beta read - so if there are spelling or grammatical errors, let me know. Regardless, I hope you enjoy!~

Over the course of the next week, Mr. Emmet made a lot of changes that weren't strictly part of the rental agreement. She could tell he combed over it carefully, not disobeying any of the rules she set in place, but Olivia was starting to find some of his realistic and reasonable “things” involved a lot of renovation.

"There was not anything in the lease agreement that said I could not."

Mr. Emmet said as Olivia stormed up to him. He was meticulous. He was selecting things that he knew she wouldn't object to if she really paused to consider it. Better internet access with underground cables running from Cedaridge, a bigger generator to replace the old one that had seen better days, and he had a replacement fridge in mind from the moment he saw her old one.

That was the one she fought him the most on, but Mr. Emmet was quick to assure her that none of these changes were going to come out of her own pocket. He warned her that he was going to have an electrician come in and upgrade the wattage of her house and all the outlets, that was when Olivia told him that she couldn't allow any more changes.

"I will require no more after that."

He said patiently, offering her a smile. He knew that she was very unlikely to object, not without being completely unreasonable. That, Emmet had clocked right away. She had outlined all other aspects of his lease, but this had been a pretty big blind spot that he conveniently neglected to expound upon. He was referring to them as cosmetic changes or necessary upgrades made by the tenant at the tenant's expense.

She left the house, Raichu and Infernape in tow as she tried not to be annoyed with the workers who were fundamentally changing her home. He watched her go with whatever guilt he was feeling shoved off to the side to be examined later.

In town, Olivia took refuge in her still closed for the season shop. It would be opening soon, so she figured might as well clean up here. She would also have to talk to Hayate about working the shop this season, knowing this was his last year before he went off to university.

He was a moody boy, but he had a passion for plants, which was the only reason entrusted her shop to him. The lock clicked and the door swung open, the closed sign still flipped toward the street when she shut the door behind her.

"Alright guys. Let's get this place cleaned up for Hayate."

Olivia rolled up her sleeves and pulled her hair back into a bun, knowing she was going to get pretty gross cleaning this place up. She handed Raichu a feather duster and told him to shoo away any stray Bug Pokémon hiding in the curtains. Infernape was also on dust duty, getting any loose debris on the floor for Olivia to sweep up before he hopped on window duty, a spray bottle and rag in his hands. With his climbing and jumping skills, he was usually done pretty fast.

"Keep going in here. Don't forget the vents and fans in the back, Raichu, okay?"

She heard a dutiful squeak before she stepped onto the street to view the exterior with a sigh. It really needed a fresh coat of paint. It hadn't received one in nearly five years, and it was starting to show when you looked at the cracked and sun-bleached sills.

She knew if she asked Ethan to do it, he would get it done in a weekend for a pack of beer. Hayate would be too busy with cram work. She didn't want to hire a crew to paint, it would cost her an arm and a leg... Ethan was her best choice. She would go see him and her best friend when she was done cleaning up.

Olivia's mind shifted back to her new tenant with a frown. She was trying to be understanding, but she also felt a little insulted that he was taking over her home. Mr. Emmet intimidated her slightly, something about his expression and intensity that made her a little nervous. She was glad she had the foresight to put that clause to evict him if she thought he couldn't handle living there, but that would only be applicable with the change in seasons.

For now, she would put up with the changes - many of them were for the better and he had assured her that none of them were temporary once he vacated. They were hers to keep.

"A token of my thanks."

He had said, just a touch sheepish, before she stormed out of her home. Realistically, how long could or would Mr. Emmet want to stay? Olivia guessed a year at best. If he stayed any longer, she would be very surprised. She looked at the empty pots in the sill boxes, her face falling into a steep frown as she remembered she would have to transplant her gracideas soon. ------------------------------------------

Gina opened the door and lifted Olivia off her feet with the tight hug she engulfed her in.

"Livvy! So good to see you. It's been an age. Ethan just finished up dinner, but there’s plenty enough for another plate."

A warmth settled in her chest while she was ushered inside and to a dinner table. The LeMars were the closest thing she had to family anymore and it was always so nice to feel so welcomed in their home. Gina's two girls greeted her with a barely contained excitement,

"Auntie! Mama helped me catch a Buizel down by the coast last week."

"Oh yeah?"

Olivia hummed curiously, listening with rapt attention to Sierra's story while Gina, not so surreptitiously, piled her plate high. Conversation was light for the duration of the meal, but once Gina started a fire outside and Ethan put the girls to bed, Olivia knew she was going to be offered a drink and to have a more serious chat outside. She didn't fight it.

"Are you sure you're okay with painting this weekend? I don't want to stress you out."

"Nah, I like to be busy."

Ethan replied, bringing up a glass to his lips with a congenial smile. Gina slid into her line of vision, effectively interrupting their conversation.

"There's been a lot of trucks headed up your way, Livvy. Doing a little remodeling finally?"

Olivia's face turned crimson, and she looked towards the flame, a spike of guilt lancing her heart at the thought of how much was changing.

"I-It’s not me. I have a new tenant and he's... weirdly specific."

Ethan and Gina exchanged looks, what did that mean? Olivia shifted in her chair, hiding a grimace in her glass of beer. She tried to change the subject, joking about losing Hayate next year and having to hire Sierra, but Gina leaned forward.

"Why is a tenant making so many changes to your house?"

Although Olivia had brushed it off with a joke about how Mr. Emmet was footing the cost and had forced the topic of conversation to other things, she wondered to herself why she was accepting these changes with less of a fight. A few days into residence and he was already turning her life upside down - what did the mean for their remaining lease? She could have told him no. She could have forced him to stop his renovations or expelled him... But she hadn't. Although frustrated, she didn't kick him out.

She returned home and found Mr. Emmet reorganizing his room, looking at what appeared to be a small, framed picture that he set abruptly face down when Olivia stuck her head in to apologize for not providing dinner. His posture relaxed a little, stepping out of the room and closing the door behind him.

"I am Emmet. I ordered some food from town. The fried rice was good... I, uh... I bought you some."

"Oh," Olivia was a little stunned by his foresight. "Thank you. I ate at a friend's house, but I'll probably eat it tomorrow."

"Ah..." He trailed off, something about his posture was nervous and Olivia couldn't help but wonder if something had happened. She was reminded of a little kid who was trying to hide a broken vase. "You left earlier. You were upset with me. Because of the changes."

He tapped his fingertips together, searching for words to apologize in a reasonable way. Olivia raised her eyebrows as he released a held breath, the apology sincere, if a little rushed sounding.

"Thank you." She replied, nibbling her lower lip, and folding her arms over her chest. "You're very observant, Mr. Emmet, and you were within your rights, according to our agreement... It's just - It's hard to see so many changes so quickly."

It was her turn to trail off, to half turn and take great interest in the wilted flowers set in a vase on her table. She didn't notice the little tilt to his head when she said that or how his grey eyes seemed to soften imperceptibly when she had her back to him. She tended to her flowers, filling the vase with fresh water, and returning it to the table just as Mr. Emmet said he was going to turn in for the night.

"If you find any issues, please let me know right away. I will have them handled right away. Yup."

POKEMON RED VERSION ENTRY 007

Entering S.S. Anne!! This ship boards a lot of Trainers that itching to battle me. So let's get started!

Cleared the whole ship, got some sweet exp points for my team, and unexpectedly- BLUE WAS HERE TOO?

Im joking. It says here in the guide.

Another battle with Blue🙄. As usual, as per encounters, his team improved, but my team was better. His Abra has evolved to Alakazam and it packs a punch! His Squirtle evolved to Wartotle and my Petals Absorb the shit out of it. Thanks to Petals' Sleep Powder! Anyway, i beat him, but still he managed to brag. What a jerk.

I went upstairs and found the captain of the ship was ill (poor old man..) So i rub his back ( with no sexual intent whatsoever) then miraculously his illness cured! Damn. Am i a shaman? So for my kindness, the captain bestowed me HM01- CUT!

Yeah its not great as its sound. HMs are pretty much an annoyance to Pokemon Games. They are like TMs, but HMs can be use infinitely. But the catch is, most HM moves are sucks, except for one- Surf. I'm not gonna waste HMs on my teams so I'm gonna have a backup mons as HM slave. I'm thinking the Farfetch'd i got earlier.

So after i equip Cut to my Dux ( the traded Farfetch'd) i backtracking to went to unreachable places since i have Cut. I got several items and i managed to redeem a bike for the Bike Voucher i got from Pokemon Club house at Vermilion City.

Now time to grind for the next Gym battle! So after some time grinding, my team were all on 25-28 lvl. For this upcoming battle, I'm gonna focused on Geodude, since it gonna be invincible to this Gym. It evolved to Graveler in the process.

Now enter the Vermilion City Gym. It leads by Lt. Surge, with the nickname 'Lightning American'. He specializes in Electric type Pokemon. Electric type were famous for their Speed, and Paralyze-inducing moves.

Lt. Surge got 3 Pokemons at his disposal. First is a Voltorb. A basic Electric type. It kinda gave my Graveler a threat since it learned Sonicboom, a Normal attack that give fixed damage. So my Graveler high Defense is pretty useless there.

However his next 2 mons are Pikachu and it evolved form- Raichu. Honestly i think Voltorb is more challenging than these two. Because all they got is Electric type moves, and my Graveler is immune to them! Basically a bloodbath for them.

I won, got a Thunderbadge and a sweet, sweet Thunderbolt TM!

I need to find a real Electric type. Pikachu is not gonna cut it.

they are my first ever pokemon, they just wandered into kanto and i caught them after choosing my starter! my best friend!! they are really close to me and protect me like their life depends on it lolol

such a sweetheart.. very clingy too! and they are kind of tired all the time hehe!! they have a good sense of humour and feel like the one out of all my pokemon who really gets me

not to say the rest don’t,, flygon has just known me for way longer!! i even use my z-ring on them.. and besides they’re my main pokemon for a reason

MEOWSCARADA ᡣ𐭩 •｡ꪆৎ ˚⋅

he’s a sweetheart! so nice to everyone else and he LOVES attention, he begs for it all the time (he reminds me of my old ragdoll cat hehe)

he is the pokemon i tried to get the most (and got the easiest) when traveling over to paldea, cause i love cats! and grass types are like my 3rd fave type (bug and dragon 🔛🔝 though ofc ofc)

he’s really strong for a meowscarada idk why.. i did train him a lot though lol!! he loves to fight, very active kitty

ESPEON ᡣ𐭩 •｡ꪆৎ ˚⋅

she’s a bit more independent than my other pokemon, and only really is affectionate towards me.. but when she wants attention she’s really clingy!! she just sits on my lap while i do work or something

overall she isn’t that hard to manage compared to my other pokemon (especially my pidgey i caught back in kanto.. he’s so hard to deal with ಥ‿ಥ)

she’s also a shiny?? forgot to mention earlier but it’s pretty cool imo.. :0

RAICHU ᡣ𐭩 •｡ꪆৎ ˚⋅

now it’s time for her!! little buddy,, i love her so much, she’s so sweet!!

for some reason she always wants me to make her waffles, maybe she just has an addiction to them cause of how often i eat them hehe…. (and maybe i slip her a bit too many waffles a bit too often..)

she was actually the starter i picked in kanto, then she evolved into a raichu.. we traveled to alola….. you get the rest

she’s insanely clingy just like flygon.. probably cuz i’ve had her for so long? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MY SCIZOR!!! really tough gal, although.. truthfully? not on the inside, physically very tough though!! she’s a really strong pokemon

she doesn’t often show it, but she’s quite the softie! she only really shows that side to me though, remaining tough to the others.. because of this she seems to be an idol for my younger pokemon, so not too bad

such a beautiful pokemon, i always loved him even during his pre-evolution. i don’t get the hate,, feebas isn’t ugly guys!! >:(

my house is right next to a huge lake, so i just keep him there and he seems happy with it

he always manages to calm me down,, something about sending energy? well whatever it is he’s a great listener! he always encourages me to vent to him hehe

raichu was the first pokemon i had ever, and pidgey was the second!

out of all my pokemon he’s the hardest to take care of.. he’s a handful for sure :p

he’s very small for a pidgey actually! he’s the size of my hand, and kind of just likes to sit on my shoulder, or fly with me on my morning walk!! he doesn’t eat much cuz of that

he usually sleeps in my collection of plushies,, it’s really cute! ˶ᵔᗜᵔ˶

I have this little idea rattling around in my head, I had to get it down so it wouldn't leave me. It's a little story where it's like Pokemon Horizons (sorta), but the crew is made of mostly Fallers, traveling around doing odd jobs for the new world they call home. I'm calling it Pokemon Sky Trekkers (it's a working title). Here's some of the characters I've been kicking around in my head:

Hanji Zoe (Attack on Titan)- Leader of the group, landed in the Lental region, lived there for at least a year. Pokemon- Ditto, Golurk

Dogday (Poppy Playtime)- Vice Leader (of sorts), also landed in Lental not long after Hanji did. Pokemon- Drampa

Sela (One Piece OC, an elderly ram Mink)- Shipright/Engineer, landed in Johto and lived there for seven years. Pokemon- Ampharos (with Mega Stone)

Aoi (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex)- There computer expert (mostly because a good chunk of the crew are from more primitive worlds and he's the closest to an expert they have) Also landed in Johto, was there for two years. Pokemon- Porygon2, Sunflora, Zoroark

Dog, Donkey, Cat and Rooster (The Grimm Variations episode 5 "The Town Musicians of Bremen")- They fill a lot of roles for the crew, Dog and Donkey are the cooks, while Dog also sometimes acts as a back up captain and Donkey helps with Hazel with maintaining the ship, Rooster doesn't have a set role but has claimed the lookout tower (no, the irony is not lost on her) and Cat... well extra hands always help right? Pokemon- (Dog) Lucario, Arcanine, Armorouge (Donkey) Mudsdale, Zebstrika, Machamp (Cat) Delcatty, Purugly, Aromatisse (Rooster) Blaziken, Pidgeot, Mimikyu

Quinn (Owl House OC, a genderfluid biped demon, mainly using Beastkeeping, Potion, Bard and Healing magic, has an opossum palisman named Scraps)- the groups magic expert/ doctor. Landed in Unova, lived there for 4 months Pokemon- Serperior, Swoobat, Watchog, Seismitoad (Shiny)

Jim "Crocodile" Cook (Yugioh GX)- Acts as another researcher for the crew, landed in Galar, was there for 3 months. Pokemon- Krookodile (It's his pet crocodile Shirley, turned into a Pokemon), Relicanth, Gigalith, Tyrantrum

Axel Brodie (Yugioh GX)- Acts as another muscle, alongside Donkey, landed in Galar, along with Jim. Pokemon- Turtonator, Magmortar, Alolan Marowak, Camerupt.

Anderson - the only PokeEarth native on the crew, a member of the Diamond Clan, he joined the crew mainly as his clan duty duty to keep an eye out on Fallers (especially so many in one place) Pokemon- Buizel, Hisuian Lilligant, Raichu, Azumarill, Garchomp, Glalie.

June (From a regular world in the 2010s, where Pokemon isn't a thing)- At only 7 years old, she's one of the youngest Fallers in recorded history. Landed in Sinnoh, lived with Anderson for 5 months, and clings to him like glue. Pokemon- Yanma (Shiny)

Travis and Cody (From a regular world in 1998, where Pokemon was just starting out)- as previously stated, he's from a world like ours, but he's not the one with meta-knowledge, it's his 8 year old son Cody. Joined the crew as a trainer with a full team Landed in Kanto, lived there for over a year. Pokemon- (Travis) Blastoise, Fearow, Bellosom, Sandslash, Flareon, Electivire (Cody) Axew

Ika (Legend of Zelda BotW/ TotK OC, a child Rito)- Quinn's honorary little sister, landed in Unova and lived there for 3 months. Pokemon- Castform

Oscar (From an Old West esque world, still debating if it's the same world as the Bremen ladies)- a bounty hunter who was eebydeebied into the Pokemon world as a Seviper. Landed in Hoenn but was constantly wandering Poke- Japan for 3 years . He's essentially Rattlesnake Jake from Rango, minus the gattling gun tail and us slightly more moral (emphasis on slightly)

Gammamon (Digimon, not the same one from Ghost Game btw)- Pretty much the baby of the crew, found by Jim and Axel in Galar

Shuichi Saihara, Maki Harukawa and Himiko Yumeno (Danganronpa V3)- The most recent members of the crew, joined for their new found wanderlust after being trapped from the Killing Game, landed in Kanto (specifically in Indigo Academy from Horizons, the Headmistress took them in for bit evn though they weren't official students, even gave them there Starters) Pokemon- (Shuichi) Decidueye, Stoutland, Male Meowstic, Umbreon, Altaria, Flapple (Maki) Inteleon, Crobat, Weavile, Leavanny, Clefable, Scizor (Himiko) Delphox, Yellow flower Florges, Mr. Mime, Luxray, Smeargle, Mienshao

Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? most common ones are probably the Sad Sack Sages ( hi etzel, sety ), fiery boys with hearts of gold ( felix, leif ), and dark paladins ( nel, felix ). i also really like chaotic neutral trickster types, but aren't usually confident enough in my ability to write for them haha

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? action scenes for sure. any scene where there's external momentum driving things forward and giving a sense of momentum and urgency. also just anything that lets me worldbuild or exploring facets of worldbuilding hehe

Favorite TOA-related memory: that's a hard one. probably the final week of arcadia, our first lore event. all the teams ended up in boss battles, but they weren't the guaranteed staple of lore event endings like they are now. it just kind of happened because that's where the stories ended up. the collaborative scene-building and sense of camaraderie in the fights against gricenchos and gofannon are still unmatched for me to this day. they felt like dynamic scenes right out of a lord of the rings movie

Life Update June 2023

Okay, so I don’t typically do these really anymore; but so much stuff has happened recently that I feel like I kinda owe an explanation as to why I haven’t posted stuff I said I was gonna post; etc…

Firstly, I have gained a new hyper-fixation with the Murder Drones series on YouTube, to the point I have just spent an actual lump sum of money on merch; which is something I haven’t done since I was like 12ish… The show is a phenomenal work of art and it deserves more notice. I legit thought I wasn’t gonna like it at all, due to the anime chibi looking characters making me believe it would be garbage knock-off cheap anime bs, but it showed up in my recommends and I haven’t been able to stop watching it since.

I won’t keep gushing about that, as this is an update post, not a review posting lol, but I also have written an entire pmv script for this show and idk I’m in too deep now…

I have also had an infestation of field mice inside my home this month, which my dogs helped to uh… remove from the house. So that’s been a thing.

I’ve also been playing Pokémon Infinite Fusion, and kinda ended up making a too OP fusion of Charizard and Raichu, with a Blaze ability. Who would’ve thought having both immunity to burns and paralysis would work out so well? 10/10 Giovanni didn’t expect me to utterly destroy his legendary triple fusion with that combo lmao.

The Unicorn Warriors Eternal 2nd review will be coming out as soon as I can retrieve some decent footage/images of episodes 5-7. It’s not got as big of a dedicated fandom to it, so it’s harder to track down images of it. :/

I will briefly talk about my opinion of episodes 5 & 6, as I want to clarify that the plot does actually pick up the pace some in these episodes, but it’s still janky with the timing until the last five minutes of episode 6.

I could actually make out some of Tarkovsky’s handiwork in episode 6, but both episodes felt like each scene was created from a different time and art studio. Again, the cgi scenes don’t really blend/mesh well with the 2d drawn art; which I will do my best to breakdown in the actual review.

I did however figure out the main problem I’m having with the show overall. First and foremost; the dialogue. It doesn’t fit Tarkovsky’s usual signature, and feels wildly out of place with the serious plot/nature of events occurring in the show.

I’m not saying that no dialogue is better than a ton of dialogue at all; my point here is that the tone and rhythm of everyone’s speech is not matching the vibe of the scenes/plot/show and is 100% not what anyone from the early 1900’s Britain would sound or behave like. (Also still some weird British stereotypes going on that feel wildly out of left field.)

My second problem is the Popeye art style. This is not me just nitpicking here, again, it is so wildly out of place with the serious nature and tone of the show that it actually interferes with the style/flow of the show. I took a lot of issue with the young children in episode 5; they were drawn with massive muscles on dainty little girls, they looked like a mix between a dwarf and a shrunken Popeye. It was a bizzare image.

Anyways, I don’t have much more time to blab at the moment. I just wanted to stop by and give an update. I’ll eventually get around to more stuff soon. :3

Could you please talk about the Raichu and Leafeon you mentioned?

Well of course! We currently have 2 Pokemon that is ready for adoption ^^

Comet the Starcheeked Raichu; He is the perfect example of the star-cheeked crossbreed. A tad chubbier and taller than usual, with tiny fingers and toenails, cheeks that glow in the moonlight, and a tuft of hair on his head. He used to be a showman and perform on the stage. Sadly, one day his trainer decided she wanted to start battling and put him on the battlefield against an experienced fighter even though he had never battled a day in his life. Which resulted in him getting heavily injured and his left arm amputated. He has been dumped here as the missing limb along with the scars made him undesirable. He has been in a depressive episode since he was brought in but he is slowly getting better. Yet, he'll need more time to get back to his old self. If he ever can.

Nori the Leafeon; This girl is a designer breed. Her leaves are a much darker color with a dark blue tint, along with being droopy rather than the straight structure of a usual leafeon. She has been some rich woman's house pet until she ran away one night and came back with her ears and tail tattered. It makes her struggle to photosynthesis which means she needs supplies to live comfortably. She doesn't seem to mind getting dropped here much, I would even say she likes the newfound freedom as she spends most of her time running around the fields. I can't say anything about her battling skills but she has all the usual lovely, friendly and payful characteristics of a designer breed.

Days 7&8 of My Pokémon Yellow Nuzlocke Challenge

Day 7

Still busy with chores around the house so I’ll just focus on battling the rest of the S.S. Anne trainers, beating up my rival again, and then getting the HM for Cut which we will need to move forward with the game. For those unaware of the differences (hello non-Poké nerds and newbies!) between TM’s and HM’s, while both can teach a Pokémon moves they cannot learn naturally leveling up, HM’s contain moves needed to navigate the environment. These are moves like Cut that can remove pesky little trees or Surf that lets you ride Pokémon over bodies of water.

As I’m going through the ship’s trainers, I get Crispy to evolve into Charmeleon and Lily to learn Body-Slam—two very big steps to continuing victory. But first I have to heal at the Pokémon Center to be properly prepared for the last few trainers and the rival battle. As I am still busy with house work and getting some furniture prepped for a new coat of paint, I have to end today here.

Day 8

More chores today but I’ll fit in some of the important stuff pretty easily. My rival is up next gatekeeping the captain’s quarters and the HM for Cut. He’s become pretty predictable with his Pokémon so far and leads again with his Spearow. Zippy wipes it out with a single Thundershock. Next come a new addition to his team: Sandshrew. I send out Belle as a Ground-type like Sandshrew can get manhandled by a Grass-type like Bellsprout, yet there’s still a danger because this little pangolin wannabe has the Slash attack paired with a pretty high speed stat leads to a high chance of critical hits!

Thankfully, he doesn’t land a critical hit on the one move Belle allows him to make before smacking him down with a pair of Vine Whip attacks. The rival’s Rattata comes next and goes down even faster with a Double Kick from Lily. I take time to quickly switch-in PlowBoy for some EXP and bring Lily back to finish off Eevee.

Now I’ve got to help out the sea-sick cruise ship captain (maybe pick up shore-side fishing, dude) and get the HM for Cut. And after teaching it to PlowBoy, we can now access the Vermillion Gym. I’m going to try to get PlowBoy leveled up a bit so he can learn an actual ground move in Dig so we can Dig these Electric-types some graves.

Ouch, ouch, ouch! These jerks are spamming Sonicboom like it’s an Air Force Thunderbirds performance! Now just so we’re on the same page for how dangerous this is for the run, Sonicboom is not a game made by people trying to revive a half-dead hedgehog franchise; this is a move that deals 20 damage if it hits. No more, no less. Always 20 damage. My Pokémon have an Hp range of 37-68. One too many of those attacks and I’m out all my strongest Pokémon for this run!

Still, I’m doing pretty well and leveling up fine…and now PlowBoy has Dig. Just in time for Lt. Surge and his nasty Raichu. I’m still gonna bump up my level a bit with a couple Rare Candies and let’s do this thing!

…oh. Um. Well. This is awkward. I was thinking that Surge’s Raichu was about level 25. But it’s not that. Not that at all. Lt. Surge’s Raichu is level 28. PlowBoy is level 22. He might have high speed but so does the Raichu. Let’s hope we can survive this! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH—oh. Um, that’s embarrassing. He tried using Thunderbolt once before I started using Dig and then again before my Dig attack landed (which obviously missed anyway as PlowBoy was UNDERGROUND at the time). He has Mega Punch and Mega Kick in his move set and he uses the one move that doesn’t affect Ground-types at all. PlowBoy hits him with a non-critical One-Hit Knockout! Boom! And PlowBoy soars into level 23! Woohoo! I can finish today on that note and be very happy.

A Mystery Adventure Chapter 25

“Oh? Raichu is looking for me? Thank you for letting me know.” said Seismitoad. After we escaped from the dungeon, “Thank you for finding Seismitoad for me! I’ll give you this as a reward.” said Raichu. We got 100 money, a special band, a heal seed, and a sleep seed.

The next morning, we got a special visit from Gurdurr and the Timburrs.”What’s up, Gurdurr?” said Tepig.”I’ve decided. Starting today, I’m setting up shop right here!” said Gurdurr.

“What?”

“I’m thinking it’s time to try being a proper carpenter again. And on top of that, I do want to pay you guys back in some way…So I figured I might as well set up shop on your doorstep!”

“Yeah, that’s what he says, anyway.” says the second Timburr.”But I’m betting he just wants to stay close to the lovely Virizion.” said the first Timburr.”Y-you little-! Why’d you hafta go and blab something like that?! ” said Gurdurr. Gurdurr chases the Timburr away.”Hah…hah…Now that all the distractions are gone…”

“Hey! Ain’t that old Gurdurr?” said Scraggy.

“Scraggy?!”

“Gurdurr, you…When did you get all buddy-buddy with these losers?”

“Look who’s talking! What’s a crook like you doing in a nice place like this?”

“I-I didn’t-! It’s not like I had a choice, yo! Life’s not so simple for some of us! It’s not like…It’s not like I chose to be stuck in this awful place!” Scraggy cries.

“Looks like you’ve got some issues of your own, pal…I don’t know what your problem is, but…Whatever. At any rate. What I was saying was…I’m thinking I’d like to have a shop here from now on. Any objections?

“ ‘Course not! I think it’s awesome to see you fired up for work again.” said Tepig.

“Hmph! I figured you’d say something like that, Tepig, ya softie. I was counting on it, in fact. So I already took the liberty of building the shop.”

“What?!”

“Is that all? Why didn’t you say so? We’ll get you a Sturdy Vine.”

“What! Y-you’d do that for me?!”

“Of course! You probably want to focus on training right now, so we’ll just go get it for you. Just one thing. Where should we look?”

“I’m pretty sure you can get a Sturdy Vine as a reward for meeting a request. If you go check out that Request Board…you’ll probably find requests that reward you with a Sturdy Vine. If you clear one of those requests, you should be able to get one.”

“Got it! Then I guess we’ll go do a request, and when we get that Sturdy Vine…We’ll bring it to you right away! Ok, Ford! Let’s go check out the Request Board! Maybe we’ll find a request that’ll get us that Sturdy Vine! Then we’re setting out!”

So I picked a request to rescue a Mamoswine in the Ragged Mountain on the 4th floor.

Diamond! Gym 8!

6th April

So coming off the losses of last time the first objective is a bit of team building. First thing I do is add Mothim back to the team. Yes its a low tier pokemon but I need to save some power houses for the next two games. Not only that but its bug type will be useful for Lucian and its Flying type useful for Aaron.

Next up, I spend a bit of time honeytreeing all the areas I havvent caught a pokemon. I time travel forwards to set them up and race round to see what we get I get 2 wurmbles a burmy and finally the pokemon I am looking for a Cherubi east of Canalave city! I catch it and name it cherry and while watching tv I begin the grind. I raise its speed, sp atk and a bit of hp honestly which is a bit of a weird spread but I am planning on Cherrim being a support Pokemon using Sunny day to set up Infernape and leech seed for the rest. I also give it giga drain and HP psychic.

Next up I need a new Dark type. Unfortunately Weavile would be my best bet right now but I desperately need it for Pearl leaving me a choice between Gastly and Stunky. Sinch I am unlikely to encounter stunky again in future games and Gastly is an excellent mon in later games as well as earlier ones I choose Stunky and begin levelling it up with a pretty even attack leaning spread.

With that I move on to Sunyshore city and the gym. Gastrodon as great as it is unfortunately is a terrible ground type. It currently only has mud bomb and no other decent special ground type moves to come. I may have to teach it Earthquake at somepoint just to get a high accuracy ground type move on it but it is frustrating. Anyway I slowly work my way through the gym with its many electric (and every other type) Before challenging Volkner. Again I am underlevelled but I am taking this fight seriously I shouldnt need more than this.

So Volkner startws with Raichu and I start gastrodon. Annoyingly the Raichu knows lightscreen and starts with that meaning Gastrodon does very little. So I slowly whittle it down as it can't do lots to me until its down before Octillary comes in. Octillary knows Bullet seed and is very specially focused so I switch to Blissey. I toxic stall the life out of it slowly whittling it down as it wont go for bullet seed against Blissey due it only calculating the attack once. Once I set up light screen and Toxic is about to finish the octillary I switch to Cherrim and get a sunny day up. Luxray comes out so I leech seed it and switch into Skuntank. Skuntank can get a toxic off and night slash its way to beating Luxray. Last but not least is Ambipom only knowing shockwave this is very little threat. It stries to set up with agility so I switch inot infernape to finish the job winning me the final Sinnoh Gym badge this run.

A better team and some better plays, i'm a little more comfortable but the victory road and Elite 4 gauntlet is going to be the real test here. I am of course very worried and really hope I can pull this off.

oh, it's not just one team. i currently have 6!

representing gen 1, by way of fire red: fearow(who is a shiny i got about 8 hours in and started this whole adventure), charizard, exeggutor(the weak link), raichu(you would not believe how much i resisted evolving this one), hitmonlee, and a gyarados.

representing gen 2, by way of heart gold: dragonite, ampharos, heracross, hypno, the shiny gyarados, golem, and i am suddenly realizing i don't even remember what my starter was here.

representing gen 3, by way of emerald: skarmory, absol, swampert, manectric, cradily, and hariyama. no, i don't know why this team sucks when my "gen 1" team from the gen 3 remake is actually pretty good. not as good as my "gen 2" team, but still.

representing gen 4, by way of platinum: floatzel, infernape, bronzon, roserade, garchomp, and that one rotom from the haunted house.

representing gen 5, by way of black: excadrill, swoobat, leavanny, samurott, darmanitan, and electros. this team feels even more fragile than my gen 4 team, but they made it through that version of the league well enough.

and representing gen 5, two years later by way of black 2: cofagtigus, roserade, flygon, psyduck, emboar, and galvantula. once the team came together, it felt unstoppable in a way only my gen 2 team ever really felt close to, but i haven't taken them against their league rematch, so we'll see.

the last league rematch that's a higher level than gen 5 is the gen 3 remakes in gen 6, so that'll be the last real challenge for the teams, especially the gen 5 teams who don't even get ribbons for beating the leagues in their games.

oh pokemon, why did you have to be so weird about giving out ribbons? sometimes it's for rematches, sometimes it's for remakes, but not always. yes, i know ribbons were mostly not about pokemon battles, but the moment they started handing out ribbons for battles, well, it got messy.

the whole point of my particular pokemon adventure is, beating a pokemon league is like picking a lock. you do it just right, and the thing just comes open.

well, if i do a good enough job, the tools i've put together should be able to keep picking lock after lock, until i'm out of locks.

i know, i know, not very pokemon of me, but it feels really good when i've solved a puzzle with something i put together using pieces from a completely different game.

at least when the team is good. my gen 1 team is way better than it has any right to, my gen 2 team is actually scary good considering it shouldn't be, my gen 3 team is absolute trash, and my gen 4 team seems solid, if a little fragile. haven't tested them against a gen 5 league yet so we'll see.

my gen 5 mark 2 team actually has stall strategies baked in, a first for a team of mine, so we'll see where that takes me.

might pull them back in time two years into black 1 just to see what they're capable of.

there's just, something special about fighting champion iris.

if i said beating black 2 didn't make me cry, i'd be lying...
