What do you think would be Killer's favorite holiday once he gets to discover and celebrate them?

I reckon Color's would probably be any chance he gets to give gifts to his friends, mostly 'cause I feel like that would be his main love language.

Killer, however, I have no clue. The other day I was thinking maybe Carnival because it's a chance to dress up, wear masks, and pretend for a day that he isn't himself. And I'm sure he'd love to put some distance between him and himself if anything...

Carnival is an interesting one, with that reasoning perhaps Halloween would be another—not for the candy, but because of the dressing up and stuff, also the horror. I feel he probably likes to get really realistic about the horror too.

Perhaps also Valentine’s Day in Stage 2, given that he does seem to enjoy the idea of cheesy, traditional romance and gestures— even if he very likely has a pretty disturbing twist on things sometimes, because at the end of the day, when in Stage 2 Killer sees the world and even mundane things through the lens of, well..a killer, a weapon meant for killing—maybe he just enjoys the chance and excuse to indulge and amuse himself a bit.

Flowers, chocolate, the whole shebang—even if it might potentially get a little weird about things, and may not even actually feel the feelings most associate with those “romantic” gestures. It’s just a moment of self indulgence.

Perhaps, also..April Fool’s. It’s an excuse to get wild and creative with the pranks, to entertain himself, and maybe he makes it a goal to try and his hardest to make Color laugh, a full belly laugh.

Of course though, if you were to actually ask him this while he’s in Stage 2, he’d say some, “I dislike everything,” shit.

It may even actually be awhile for him to develop any significant feelings or opinions or care about specific holidays unless those were something significant to him during his time with the human and Nightmare, and therefore very likely had to have significance to him or there’d be some drastic consequences, and even then he certainly wouldn’t be forthcoming about it.

He seems very careful about not expressing any strong opinions or preferences about things or topics so openly, even if he probably does have them, and whenever he does, he usually seems to default to a “dislike” or “negative.” “I dislike everything” and “I don’t eat” when asked about favorite foods.

(I also find it interesting how he never seems to use words like “love” or “hate” when in Stage 2. It’s always “dislike” or “like.”)

V, JoeNicky & Nile

V. An abandoned or empty place.

When Joe pulls the sheet off the couch it kicks up enough dust that it makes Nile sneeze. The couch underneath is old, wooden frame rotting, fabric stained and full of holes where moths have eaten away at it. 

“Sorry,” Joe says to Nile when she finally manages to get the sneezing under control. “Didn’t realise it was that bad.” He puts his hands on his hips and looks down at the couch. Nile looks it over.

“There’s no saving that,” she says, wiping at her eyes. She can heal from falling over ten stories, but she can’t get away from allergies.

Joe frowns. “I liked that couch.”

The house is older than anywhere else they’ve brought her, and has been abandoned for long enough that it’s falling apart. But through some trick of posing as their own sons, or something, Joe and Nicky still own it, even if there’s a giant hole in the roof and all the windows are broken. Why they’d decided to come back here, Nile doesn’t know, but it’s a nice enough area, and a good distraction from, well. Everything. Growing back a leg, she’s discovered, is not fun. 

From one of the other rooms – she thinks it’s the kitchen, she’s not actually sure where Nicky had wandered to – there’s the sound of something breaking and crashing to the ground, and a muffled curse. 

Joe makes a questioning noise in the vague direction of the kitchen. A few moments later, Nicky appears in the doorway, covered in dust. “I am okay,” he says. “But I think we will need to go out to eat tonight.”

“Nothing?” 

Nicky shakes his head. “Unless you want to start a fire and go hunt some rabbits.”

Joe grins. “Just like old times, right?”

Nile shakes her head firmly, which makes Nicky smile. She loves them, but there’s no way they’re doing that. 

“We can probably clear out enough space in here,” Joe says, gesturing to the floor. “Get the sleeping bags out of the car. Probably have to start a fire anyway, but…”

Nile looks around again while Joe says something to Nicky in Arabic that makes him laugh. The house is falling apart, sure, but it’s structurally stable, and the bones are all there. It could be something. They’ve got time to make it something. 

Nicky is the one who goes for pizza in the end – he doesn’t trust Nile and Joe to order it if left to their own devices – while they try to clear out a space in the living room. Eventually, though, after Nile has another sneezing fit, Joe suggests they just take the sleeping bags outside instead, which works out a lot better. He sets about starting a fire with practiced ease while Nile sets out the sleeping bags around it. They’re far enough away from civilisation that she can’t hear cars passing by, which is kind of surreal, and the stars are brighter than she’s ever seen them. 

When Nicky gets back, two boxes balanced on one arm and a bottle of wine in the other, he looks over their makeshift camp and laughs. “Just like old times, then?” he asks.

Joe grins. “Except we have pizza.”

“And actual sleeping bags,” Nile says.

“Ah, these modern inventions could never quite match the comfort of a pile of furs,” Joe says wistfully. Nile gives him a look. She’s ninety percent sure that one’s bullshit, but she can never quite tell with him. 

Nicky sets down the pizza boxes, and jogs back to the car to grab the pack of plastic wine glasses they’d bought before they got here. 

“We should’ve bought marshmallows,” Nile says. “Could have made s’mores.”

“Well, we’ll have to go to the hardware store tomorrow anyway,” Joe points out. “And I think it’ll be a little while before we can actually sleep in there.”

“Tomorrow, then?”

“Tomorrow,” Nicky agrees.

Ello so I would like to discuss Fix tf2 with all of yall, I’m gonna be joining in in the movement on June 3rd I’m gonna be downloading twitter and make an account for this entire thing, I love this game and this is the first fandom I’ve been apart of this entire thing has been a very special experience for me and to see the game hurting is upsetting and seeing valve the game company I loved neglect a masterpiece they made and are still profiting off of is bothering me, half the player base is bots, and it hurts, so on June 3rd ima be joining in and if yall can I encourage you to do so, let’s help this very very old game out :D and I just wanted to say thank you all, this community is amazing, yall have been incredible, and thank you for reading my comics, yall have improved my mental health a lot and it feels like I’m doing something that makes people smile, when yall are happy it makes me happy, and I hope I make someone’s day a little better by doing so, tf2 comic making got me through a really rough time believe it or not lol, and that’s not gonna change im not going to stop making tf2 comics until the series is complete and the story is told, but Valve needs to listen to us, so let’s get it it, as Engineer tf2 would say.
