Although O. Virtanen had a slightly shaky setup to the match, his confidence in his groundstrokes overwhelmed P-H. Herbert throughout the match with his aggression, oftentimes firing in some drop shots or trying to engage the latter in a net exchange in between. This somehow worked in the Finn's favor, as he survived one break point in the first game while creating 9 break points, converting 33% of them while leaving P-H. Herbert a little to no room to execute his stuff as a result of being out-paced.
